But the timing actually worked out nicely, because this week I started editing the WIP I've been working on since January. So here's a little snippet from the first chapter :)

It is only natural to be seduced by the air of new possibilities. I, too, find myself with dreams both old and new, ones that I had never dared to consider before.” He glanced at me with a teasing twist of a smile. I was not amused. “That is not what I asked.” “Yet it is what I chose to answer.” The self-satisfied smirk did nothing to stop me from scowling, and I pressed that dark glare at him until he gave up and sighed in resignation. “No, Fitz, the response you seek is ‘no’. I have not seen any Dreams since Aslevjal. My time as the White Prophet ended upon my death, and my dreams are no different from yours now. But enough of that. Let us not waste this lovely ride on a subject so dull.”

Hhhhh alright okay, you asked for it

Imo Roy is not a parental person, and I don’t see his relationship with Ed and/or Al as anything close to parental. This isn’t to say that he doesn’t care for them or isn’t protective of them, hell, they can even be a found family.. But shoehorning them into a parent-child dynamic just doesn’t work in my opinion. For starters, Roy isn’t even old enough to have kids their age, and I don’t think he’s at a stage in a stage of his life where he would look on teenagers in a parental way. He cares deeply about his team and shows it in his own way, but he’s not nurturing. Don’t get me wrong, I love this dynamic we get in many fanfics of him and Ed constantly fighting and bantering and never wanting to admit that they care about each other (even though they absolutely do), I've written them like that too. but … to me, the wonderful thing about found family is that it doesn’t have to adhere to a traditional nuclear family structure. They don’t have to see each other as parent and child to care about and protect each other.

🍄 ⇢ share a head canon for one of your favourite ships or pairings

Uhhhh I don’t really ship much in FMA tbh, I keep it mostly Gen… particularly where Ed is concerned bc my Ed is usually aromantic (not saying he is canonically, it’s just my headcanon and that’s how I prefer writing him). And I like Royai and some other ships not involving Ed well enough, but don’t really actively consume or create fanworks for them so.. I also don’t have a lot of headcanons about them. I could of course share a headcanon from a different fandom, but I know you came here from/for FMA so… I guess I could share some Edling thoughts? Because I can well imagine Ling crushing on Ed, and maybe they even experimented together, shared some first experiences, because, you know, they’re teenagers, but for Ed it was never really more than physical. I mean, he likes Ling but … aromantic and all that. And there might have been more for Ling, but he also knows there’s no future for them once he goes back to Xing, and his duty to his country has to be his first priority. So he just has to make his peace with that.

(I wanna note that I’m not claiming any of these thoughts/headcanons are the Correct ones, that’s just how I interpret them and how I prefer to play with my dolls lol)

It's a bit of a smattering at the moment! Dragon Age and Redacted ASMR are the main ones, though I've been easing out of publishing my Redacted work recently.

I don't have any published angst ending type fics, so the closest I have is Light Untiring, my fic for a Dragon Age reverse big bang.

Occasionally, yeah. I find keeping the comments moderated helps a bit though.

I write a LOT of smut, lol. I tend to veer towards smut that explores character motivations, but some of it is just filth for filths sake.

Not really, no. I find the settings impact too crucial to the character's development and compellingness that I probably wouldn't find it appealing.

In the past under a previous pseudonym, yes :/

No, but I think this doesn't happen very often in general. It's mostly a Big Fics reserved honor imo

Yup! Doesn't happen very often though, since I find it can be hard to mesh writing styles well enough that it isn't jarring to readers.

Hmmm. Honestly Zevran x Warden is an enduring favorite. I have a soft spot for a lot of ships, but that one has endured quite a while now. Honorary mentions to fenders and handers tho I can't lie

15 - What's a WIP that you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Hhhhh, my Nydha Lavellan longfic honestly. I just struggle with motivation and I've improved a lot since the original scrapped wip, so I suspect I'll end up starting it completely over again. Fic planning is hard yall

16 - What are your writing strengths?

I think I'm quite good at characterization, particularly in dialogue!

17 - What are your writing weaknesses?

Actually outlining BEFORE starting the fic properly and writing action scenes

18 - Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I think it's hard to make it sound natural if you don't speak the language, particularly sign languages like ASL and BSL. You can definitely write dialogue in another language but if you're translating things it can take some research and fiddling to make it sound right.

19 - First fandom you wrote for?

It was eons ago now, but probably warrior cats? I wrote fanfic on paper back then though.

20 - Favorite fic you've written?

If I'm defining it as favorite end product, probably Down, Boy, though I just looked at it and realized I need to fix some spacing in there. Oopsies.

In terms of favorite to write, my Nydha Lavellan x Dorian fic was probably the most fun. I think I've really improved as a writer and it's fun to stick in cameos of other friend's OCs too!

when I started shipping it if I did: I started shipping them about a year after I got involved in the Vesperia fandom, so about 9 years ago.

my thoughts: HHHHH my otp for the game. I love them. But I'm also kind of glad they aren't canon because I don't trust Bamco to write them well.

What makes me happy about them: There 2-3 years pre-game when Flynn and Estelle were each other's only friend and I think about it constantly. (Well, Yuri was still Flynn's friend, but after Yuri left the Knights they weren't really lose for those years). Flynn was the first person to show Estelle friendship, and I aaaaaa.

What makes me sad about them: Probably just that they're a rarepair so there's like, next to no content. In canon, thinking about Flynn's role in Alexei's coup and thus his guilt over what happened to Estelle because of him is SO SAD.

things done in fanfic that annoys me: Well, there isn't really much fanfic in the first place, but of the fanfic that exists, I with there was more that dug into the deeper aspects of them. Like, I don't think the way they are in canon is the set-up for a healthy long-term relationship. They've both got some idealized images of the other to work through (of seeing the other as a perfect knight/delicate princess). And the way they work through those unrealistic views in order to love the authentic person is a whole process that a lot of fanfic skips over.

things I look for in fanfic: I'm always looking for any sort of Flystelle fic that has some meat. Like, I can enjoy a quick shot of fluff, but like I said before, I love a fic that digs in deeper. And I am always here for hurt/comfort, but I especially like it when Flynn is the one who's hurt and Estelle supports him. Partly because Flynn is my go-to whump magnet, and partly because it's an inversion of the "expected" dynamic of a knight and a princess. I want to see the knight in peril and the princess rescue him!

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: My second choice for Estelle is Judith, and my second choice for Flynn is Yuri.

My happily ever after for them: They live together in Zaphias. Estelle is a novelist who works from home and occasionally stays with Rita in Halure for extended periods, usually whenever Flynn is going to be out of town on Knight business for a while. They have a family and work together with Ioder to bring reforms to the Empire. Estelle's biggest job is making sure Flynn doesn't overwork himself.

who is the big spoon/little spoon: Estelle is big spoon when she drags Flynn away from work and pulls him into bed and holds him tight so he can't sneak out to write one more report. Flynn defaults to big spoon in other cases by virtue of being significantly taller so it's just easier.

what is their favorite non-sexual activity: Just sitting around talking. Discussing the books they've read and places they've been and ideas for the empire. They just enjoy each other's company.

Now Judelle!

when I started shipping it if I did: I think it was around 5 years ago. One day I was watching the scene where Yuri talks to Judith in Zaphias castle after the Sword Stair, and the way Judith talks about Estelle suddenly clicked and I said "oh no I ship it now."

my thoughts: Estelle is the anchor that pulled Judith out of drifting aimlessly with Ba'ul. Judith has such a subdued way of speaking, but when she talks about Estelle, she sounds fiercely protective.

What makes me happy about them: I love both of them opening up each other's worlds. Judith represents the freedom Estelle was denied all her life, while Estelle is the stability Judith hasn't had in a long time. I just think they're cute

What makes me sad about them: They're even more of a rarepair so it's almost impossible to find content. I'm pretty sure they only have 1 fic on ao3 and that was written by me.

things done in fanfic that annoys me: Well... there is no fanfic.

things I look for in fanfic: I just want them to be happy and giggly and have fun together. I think they would both make each other better people, with Judith encouraging Estelle to focus and Estelle encouraging Judith to take part in the world and open herself to others.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Estelle with Flynn, and Judy with Yuri. Those are my two top ships for Vesperia, so Judelle is more of the "if not those other two, this one" option.

My happily ever after for them: They don't live together, because Judith wouldn't want to be grounded all the time, while Estelle does want to settle. They get together whenever they can. Judith writes her letters while sitting on Ba'ul's back, and Estelle always gets excited when she sees that speck in the distance of Ba'ul flying toward Zaphias.

who is the big spoon/little spoon: Estelle tries really hard to be big spoon, but Judith tackled her into a bear hug.

what is their favorite non-sexual activity: Heading out into the world and exploring.

Alright, on to characters.

Alexei:

How I feel about this character: He's an amazing character. He's a poorly utilized character. He's so complex. He's a one-note villain. I think I see a lot more in him that a lot of people do, and all my interpretations are drawing directly from things he says and does in game, but also at some point reading between the lines becomes doing the writers' jobs for them. I don't know. I really like him.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: I don't really ship him romantically with anyone, but I'm a fan of fucked-up and unhealthy one-sided Yuri/Alexei, and also fucked-up and unhealthy Flynn/Alexei where Alexei is using Flynn's crush on him to manipulate him. Both of these are sorta ships but mostly the premise for drama and angst fics. Oh also his unnamed OC ex-wife who dumped him and triggered a midlife crisis.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: I'm also interested in Flynn and Alexei's relationship in a non-romantic context, but also I like the idea of Duke and Alexei being estranged friends. I like to imagine they were close friends who joined the Knights together, making them an even closer parallel for Yuri and Flynn

My unpopular opinion about this character: I think he has clear motivation for his actions in canon. I know a lot of people say he's just vaguely evil for world domination, but without even looking at content from side materials, he's pretty direct in canon about wanting to reform the Empire in a similar way that Flynn does. He has all the same ideals that Flynn does, but was disillusioned after the war that he could achieve those goals without going to extremes.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Not die at Zaude!!!! I've said this a thousand times but he should have been the final villain. He's got all this personal drama with the heroes and then he just dies and we go into act 3 with no one to fight against. And he was just getting really interesting when he realizes he fucked up with Zaude but he died before getting a chance to explore that realization.

my OTP: I mean.... nothing romantic really. Either of the aforementioned Yuri or Flynn angst relationships are good.

my cross over ship: Hm.... I am wracking my brain and cannot think of any.

a headcanon fact: I think a lot of his more grandiose villainy is an intentional act - he failed to save the world as a hero, so he's going to do it as a villain. He'll play the role of villain if that's what the world needs of him, and I think framing it that way in his mind helps him distance himself from what he's doing

And finally, dear Judy

How I feel about this character: She's super cool! I find her hard to write and it's hard to find fics that I feel really nail her. She's so... slippery. Both blunt and subtle. I love the way she slowly opens up to the others over the course of the game.

My unpopular opinion about this character: I don't know if this is widespread enough to be an unpopular opinion, but I don't believe she and Rita are sisters.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish she and Yuri had continued the flirty banter they had in Ghasfarost, and I wish she and Yuri had a more in-depth talk about what she did after Nordopolica and his feelings about punishing her for that, both for Yuri's development and her own.

Mysterious Anon Mutual I'll be honest I don't remember what I said in a post or tags recently to bring on this confession but it was a nice surprise to receive a message to remind me I'm not the only one who has to live with the burden of having been a Hetalia fan in the past.

Because my anime journey began in like 2008/2009 (as in, moving past growing up on Pokemon, and seeing Dragon Ball Z on Nicktoons all the time and being introduced to like 4 parts of a show on Youtube subbed), Hetalia was of course one of the series I found since the anime came out at that time. I don't engage with the fandom at all anymore, and although I consumed every bit of it as a third or fourth grader I wasn't like contributing to the fandom at all. I loved the character songs, I read all the fanfics, but I consider myself not attached to the more majorly problematic parts of the fandom since I only cared about the Nordics, lol. It's really sad for me to think about the series tbh, and I've brought this up before, because cosplayers are doing "glow ups" or showing their first cosplay vs now and I can't do that because 1) I don't have any photos of mine because it was all on flip phones lost to time and 2) I was Iceland from Hetalia so if I do ever decide to just remake my Iceland cosplay to show my own growth as a cosplayer (even if I can't show old photos to compare to) I would have to attach a massive disclaimer to any post I make about it.

In terms of MysMe, I don't actually consider that to be cringey? I was engaged in the fandom at the time and remember when reset theory was first proposed but I didn't really contribute outside of one or two pieces of fan art. I'm more into Dandelion and kind of want Cheritz to release a new game already but they're still riding the MysMe money I guess.

As for Brother's Conflict, UNFORTUNATELY I AM WITH YOU. I watched Brother's Conflict around the time I was diving through a ton of otome game based anime, like Diabolik Lovers and Kamigami no Asobi (so like 2014 when KnA aired). I think the anime of Brother's Conflict is good because it doesn't end on any romantic route, although the opening visuals and the lyrics of both OP and ED are questionable. I just have to laugh at any series that has stepparents getting married without ever having their kids meet, because like WHO WOULD DO THAT, and especially in these shows because the like Ema's dad was close to her??? So why would he like SURPRISE HER and not tell her about the brothers in advance or have her meet the other half of the family??? Contrivances all of it. My favorite was Louis, since he was like the most put together and could speak to Juli, although I will admit I also looked into the game briefly and liked one of his CGs don't look at me if you know what I'm talking about. Also, Fuuto always reminded me of Vernon from 17, so I guess I'll end on that random fact.

Hhhhh well, I always love getting comments on Crack the Paragon, since I pour so much time and energy into writing that story. (Yeah, sorry- that's why it comes out so sparingly. I spend EONS on those chapters, aUGH :O)

It also makes me really emotional whenever I get any comments on some of those... more emotionally raw fics from people who say they felt those stories resonated with them. Every once in a while I'll receive one of those kind notes and please know it makes my whole ass year whenever I see one ;w;

Do you have an idea before or after creating a character?

Since I’m new to the game (a few months), yes and no...?

When I try a game where decisions make difference, I play “myself”, to not struggle to be “in character”.

After that I tried to recreate a Kingdom Hearts OC of mine, Kaly, as Sylvari. Didn’t like the result, I will end to delete her when I leveled up the others.

Then I created a child of Mikhail and another character *cough*spoiler*cough* so I searched how to mix the specificities of each character together and all. I wanted the mix, but didn’t have something in mind, just playing with the Character’s creation first. The hairs though, was planned !

Which race is your favorite to imagine a story about?

My preference isn’t because of the story, but more that I can’t see myself playing something else than a Sylvari *snort*

For the Key Week Farm I tried the Human race and lord I find it boring. The others races don’t interest me much either...

Which race is your favorite to customize?

I can’t really answer objectively since I ever just tried Sylvari

It’s a haircut that always tempted me since day 1 I saw it because... Kinda looks like my IRL haircut, and since Mikhail is my self-insert... But I love horns hhhh Anet gimme branch horns

Do you like/use exclusive faces/hairstyles more?

I don’t know if I like it more to be honest. I mean, I plan to change the haircut of Mikhail (with story bullshit explanation) and took one for Callan Amalrik. But there are some stuffs I would love to have in the basic selection for sure !

If I had the choice when I started, Mikhail would have started with one of the exclusive haircut. I’m just annoyed because we are limited in the creation on the first run than preferring exclusive stuffs if that make sense

The only outfit I have are :

“Seize the Awkward Clothing Outfit” that my friends @salad-tales​ and @moonlit-grove​ and I use in dungeons when we are together because it looks like we are in vacancy and it’s funny *snort*

“Common Clothing Outfit” because my friend @salad-tales​ showed me how to get it unlimited but... I didn’t find use of it yet. And I still think we should have this when Sylari wake up from the dream.

Do you stick with one armor for each character or do you change a lot?

I was sticking to just one until recently for a few reasons :

Reference to draw and since I don’t draw everyday, I know it will be a pain in the ass to try to draw my character if he changes clothes everyday.

Change charge aren’t unlimited free, and since it’s limited, I’m scared to use it.

I now have another set, one more “bark showing” and one now for cold. But for that I needed good armors and hhhhh, money.

If yes, why? Is it for “RP” reasons or just aesthetic ones?

Mh... Both? I mean, the one I have right now is for cold. So aesthetic winter, but also rp to keep warm? Even if I don’t do RP? Look, last time I did a serious RP it was when we were still doing it just on forum, too old for this.

Do you have a timeline for your characters (ie. date of birth, armors throughout the story)?

I have dyscalculia and apparently ADD, so timeline is a vague concept to me *snort*

But armors, I will try to keep it in mind when I will finally do comics or fanfic about my storyverse

I have always been fascinated by the out of bounds and secrets in video games. But I never could do it myself beside on PS1 games.

So when I find myself in places I shouldn’t be by accident, I got hella scared at first ; to lost my characters, to people seeing me and all.

Now it sometimes happens I do it on purpose because I’m curious to see if there are some interesting stuffs outside the view. I can’t do much, nothing spectacular like some people can do while viewing datas or really get out of bounds, but I still get excited when I do it. Even more when it’s places my friends wanted to go.

FIRST NAME Good fucking question… It’s (sort-of) currently Dylann! I was Kieran before that, though; it’s still used as one of my first names and I’m not used to Dylann quite yet bc I’ve just started using it. 

Indigo is one of my middle names though, and I’ve used it as an online handle elsewhere forever so I use it here now!  [ Fun etymology facts: Dylan(n) is a mythology name generally meaning “born of the wave” (aspiring diver & a water witch at heart). Kieran means “little dark one” bc of my love for horror, && I chose Indigo bc as a kid to be it was neither boy (blue) or purple (girl) and was both and neither as well as my absolute favorite color as this vibrant ass mystical color. ]

STRANGE FACT ABOUT YOURSELF hmmmmm…. I’m a horror lover at heart, so as a child (I wanna say 12), I was walking through an antique store (I have a few cool finds, I considered putting my other one as the fact tbh) and I turned the corner and I saw these two dolls staring back at me at the foot of the stairs of this antique building. my blood froze, and i felt my stomach drop. i got actual, physical goosebumps stumbling across these two creepy dolls staring back at me in the corner, and i couldn’t leave the store without them. perhaps the little painted porcelain boy would be somewhat spooky by himself if it wasn’t for the terrifying lidded gaze of the porcelain girl with the hairline fractures and slightly open lips. i cant look at her. i dont really find dolls scary, I like to find the spookier ones ones, and she makes me paranoid as hell. i keep her face covered and her up in my closet except for when i bring her out to show her off proudly as the spookiest thing I have but……. i dont really collect dolls anymore.  even thinking about her brings a fearful tear to my eye.  i don’t like to think about her for very long, but that’s why I’m so fucking proud to own her. No. Do I still own a copy I’ve had since childhood thru multiple dogs eating it, taking it to and from school, and highlighting and circling all the best parts of chapter one ever since I was a kid and it was too hard of a book for me to read? You bet your ass. If I ever need inspiration I just reread chapter 1. Although one of my other favorites was Broken Monsters by Lauren Beukes. But White Fang is like, a weirdly personal text. We stan London’s writing in this household.

A Hot Fucking Take

Kara has kept in touch with... whatever that ship Mon-El and Winn are on is called. Because, duh, the dude she liked once upon a time and also her best friend is on there, and also Brainy wanted to keep in touch with them in case anything happens.

Winn figures out a way to do on-command contact, like phone calls. Kara and Mon-El (because they have that connection of having had their planet blow up) end up calling each other all the time to just rant about stupid shit, whether it’s about saving people or just bullshit they’ve had to deal with that day.

Eventually Kara starts confiding in Mon-El about her friendship with Lena. The first time it happens he’s like “uh-huh” and lets her go on. The second, third, and fourth times she does this he does the same thing. The fifth time Kara’s like “Mon-El... I think I might have a crush on her” and he just SCREAMS really loudly so someone comes to check on him (Winn, Imra, whoever) and he’s like “no I’m fine” and as soon as their gone he turns back to the camera (think of it like FaceTime) and whispers “jesus christ fucking finally you goddamn idiot how long did it take you to figure out for God’s sake I was ready to come back to Earth just to smack you over the head” and Kara’s just like “hhhhh.”

So a portion of their calls becomes dedicated to Kara yelling about Lena for five minutes to three hours. Mon-El starts bringing popcorn (Winn managed to genetically engineer the kernels. He also occasionally sits in and steals some from Mon-El’s bowl even though he has his own. Kara smirks every time that happens).

When Winn’s not there Mon-El tells Kara about his own love troubles.

One day Kara calls very excitedly and starts rambling and blushing and zooming around the room. Alex is in the background with some wine and her own popcorn just sitting on the couch watching her. When Kara finally calms down enough to speak in coherent sentences (at least half an hour later) all she manages to say is “LENAKISSEDME” before flying out the window and screaming. Alex starts laughing, Winn shrieks and falls out of his chair, flailing and laughing, and Mon-El just sits in stunned silence for a second. When Kara comes back he yells “son of a BITCH WINN-” because he made a bet about who would make the first move and now he’s on decontamination and toilet duty for two weeks.

After they’re all done freaking out Winn goes to grab whatever the ship’s equivalent of red wine is and listen to Kara gush about it for another hour before she has to do stop some dickhead from blowing up a tower. As soon as the call ends Winn turns to Mon-El and goes “so how and when do we tell them” and Mon-El says “in person. So like in a month. Our time reactor is malfunctioning and I don’t want to attempt a space AND time jump at the same time so we need to...” and Winn sighs and listens to him ramble.

A month later Kara and Lena have talked about their feelings and have started dating (the most unbelievable part of this whole thing I know). They’re going to Kara’s apartment for Game Night but the door is already open. They go in Mon-El is sitting on the counter and when he sees Kara he just goes “BITCH!” and Kara goes “BITCH!” and tackles him off the counter. Somewhere in the apartment Winn pops his head out of a room to watch them wrestle. When they finally stop, Kara has him in a choke-hold. Lena is standing in the doorway feeling Confused. She looks at Mon-El and is like “you called yourself Mike right” and he wheezes (from the chokehold) “yeah” and then because Lena is slightly Jealous she goes “didn’t you two used to date” and Mon-El.

Mon-El snorts, twists to face Kara, and between fits of laughter manages to yell out, “HEY KARA REMEMBER WHEN WE THOUGHT WE WERE STRAIGHT?!” and Kara and Winn start laughing with him because guess what? The fanfic writers were right once again, Winn was in love with Mon-El, and then Winn walks up and kisses him and Kara says “MON-EL HOW COULD YOU KEEP THIS FROM ME?!” because not once in the past month had Mon-El mentioned that he had finally made a move. Then Winn says “actually I did” and Kara says “SON OF A BITCH, now I owe Alex a month paperwork duty!”

Then they all have Game Night and it’s a fuckkng Gay Time.

Well... this is going to be kinda long, sorry about that

Marx is a really important character to me, I wasn’t interested in kirby games until I saw him as a boss in smash ultimate. I’m like... It is hard to get my attention in something, even games, even series, I need to have a strong interest on the lore or in any character to finally give it a chance, Marx did that work basically.

Favorite headcanon

Marx isn’t able at all to really love/appreciate someone (yes, even Magolor). He tolerates him just because he basically saved his life.

With the others, they literally have to give him food daily, but if anyone else wants information, he liteally will tell everything if the food they offer in exchange for is good enough.

He can betray everyone just for a nice slice of cake.

He doesn’t have an alignment, he doesn’t care about popstar’s inhabitants, he just wants food! And probably to see the world burning...

oh my god, okay. i've been writing fanfic forever. hhhhh!!

the first published fic i ever wrote was when i was 16, and it was a 600-word Pokemon fic where White, the player character from Pokemon Black and White, dragged N, the antagonist of the same games, through the city to go ride the ferris wheel and then they smooched. that was it that was the whole thing. :')

the first fic i ever wrote was also Pokemon, but it was when i was like 8 or 9 i think!! my brother and i were obsessed with writing movie scripts for a while and we decided we wanted to make a Pokemon movie, so i literally wrote a self-insert fic where i was Ash Ketchum's younger sibling and my brother was my travelling companion and we travelled around a made-up region full of made-up Pokemon lmao!
