ok so I had to go do some experimenting because there isn't any info on this stuff as of yet but I was really curious about the benefit of a little skill called Convert Element that is new to wilds

it's a three rank skill that, upon taking elemental damage, gives a temporary buff to dragon element damage, which further increases when you start dealing dragon damage

I wanted to see by how much it increased the damage, so I went and poked a low rank quematrice until it flicked fire in my face

note, I have three ranks of convert element. if I wanted to be more scientific, I could repeat the process with one and two ranks, but it is 5AM and I am tired and have other things to do.

here are my baseline weapon stats on my dragon glaive:

if I wanted to be further scientific I could take off the dragon element up jewels I have on, but once again, 5 in the morning. 444 dragon damage is our baseline, which is pretty damn appreciable for a glaive.

when i finally got quematrice mad enough to throw fire at me:

it got cranked up to 624. which is some truly ridonk numbers on something as fast as a glaive. that's 180 points of increase, which is QUITE tasty.

once I started attacking:

up 46 points further to 670. don't look at my attack stat bc I pulled red extract trying to murder the chicken asap, but the 670 was there before I started pulling extracts to really unload on the poor bird. I'm not sure if the boost goes higher since I was just hitting a low rank monster, because once again I could have been more scientific but it is still 5AM.

it's a pretty damn big boost to have, and I suspect that it's gonna see some use once we get elders put into the game. I don't know if elderseal is going to make its way into wilds or if it's been baked into dragon damage baseline, but Convert Element is still a very strong boost to a one-size-fits-all element.

What drawing tablet do you use? And from an economic perspective would you recommend one with or without a screen?

The wacom intuos pro has been with me for 11 years now. Personally I'm more comfortable with a screenless tablet, and I've been to stores/conventions where they had tablets with screens on display but it felt so weird, it's just not my cup of tea. My teacher used to say "If you feel comfortable with a tool, keep using it" he is very talented and I know he used a cheap wonky tablet but it worked just fine. Some artists paint with a mouse, some don't even use digital tools. So if you're asking me to recommend you a product, I'm afraid I can't. You're the one holding the pen so decide which machine will be best suited for you (｡•̀ᴗ-)✧
