TO BE A PART This little sparrow got in a scuffle, seemed shaken from a fight with his buddies over dropped crumbs at the Highwheeler Café. Ruffled feathers and some time apart from the other scavengers, maybe it'll be possible to blend in again given time. I've never looked at the social life of animals and thought that I'd prefer to be a part of it. I hear a lot of people say that they envy a wild life, but I believe that humans have it easier in the end. Nature is an existence of glancing endlessly over your shoulder, in constant fear from predators, chasing hunger down. I live on the edge of something psychological alone. Just the time that rushes and the meaning I give it, and a peace that passes in pieces I can call my own. If I'm in a fight, it's only one with myself.
