✈️ - How do they celebrate anniversaries?

Even before them getting in an actual relationship, some of their followers, especially the ones closer to the borders between the southwest and the southeast, worshiped them together. They had even built them joint temples with statues, presenting the two gods side by side.

There is one particular temple dedicated to the gods of the south, near a small village split by the border, where and the most beautiful statue is on display.

The statue shows the martial gods facing each other with closed eyes, leanging together with their foreheads touching. From the front of the statue one can see Xhua Zhen holding Zhanmadao on his right hand and Nan Yang with Fengshen on his left. On the other side though they both hold the other's cheek in the softest gesture marble can present.

No one knows who commissioned or who created this statue. Both Gods have been threatening to destroy it along with the temple, accusing the artist of blasphemy, but have yet to act on that threat.

As the decades pass and priests and attendants of the temple come and go a legend develops. The legend says that every year on the coldest day of winter two disciples by the names of Fu Yao and Nan Feng will visit the temple, entering hand in hand. They will spend the night there, cuddled near the statues, observing them and talking quietly amongst themselves. No one has every seen them exit the temple, but they are always gone by sunrise, leaving behind as an offering, a small basket of cherries on the altar.

(This came to me on the bus, you can judge me and you should)

🌹 - Who initiated the first kiss?

Mu Qing.

Hands down Mu Qing.

I love Feng Xin with all my heart but this man would not make the first move unless Mu Qing presented him with a sign contract stating that yes, he actually likes him and no he's not pulling a particularly mean prank and no, he didn't lose a bet to Pei Ming.

Mu Qing simply woke up one day, caught a red faced Feng Xin staring at him while training, and decided 800 of pining and wandering if Feng Xin actually likes him or if he's just that stupid where enough.

He called Feng Xin over to spar and when they took their positions across each other, he simply walked up to the archer, dragged him closer by the colar of his robes and kissed him. (No, it was not a good kiss because MQ is an 800 year old virgin but FX will take that secret to his grave, even if the bruise he got on his lip took a whole week to fade away)

☔️ - How do they make up after a fight? 

I think that the one to back down first after a fight would be Feng Xin so he'd be the one to try to make up. Like, in my head, Feng Xin's anger spikes during the argument, but he calms down quicker. On the other hand, Mu Qing will stay pissed off for hours after (hehe kinnie moment<3). So Feng Xin would be the one to try and approach Mu Qing after a fight, trying to be as sweet as possible, without sounding condescending or ironic. This will work after about 5 tries, or when Mu Qing decides he's had enough ass kissing for the day. (Feng Xin is me when I try to hug my cat after I accidentally stepped on his tail)

“And devout too?” Mouse whistled. “We don't get those kinds of people coming for us these days. Everyones too enraptured by pure souls. Angels and gods and other bullshit like that.” 

“I believe in what I see,” Niki said, reaching forward to gently touch Mouse's face. “And what I see is a beautiful demon woman with passion in every word she speaks and every action she makes.” 

Mouse grinned at her. “You're sweet as pie, honey.” She glanced at Jaiden. “We are so lucky to have her as one of our child's mothers.” 

Jaiden lifted her tea cup as if she was saluting with a beer. “Amen to that. I don't believe in much these days. Purgatory took any hope from me. But I believe in us. As Em's moms.” 

Niki smiled at the both of them, the rose of her cheeks turning cherry red. “And I do too. Nothing beats the wrath of a mother.”
