@yokelish reminded me and I can't stop thinking about it again
The Snow Queen's most loyal knight, a boy with a shard of troll's mirror in his eye.
Except that there's no Gerda. There never was a Gerda and there never will be a Gerda. No one will come. And also the troll's mirror might be showing the truth this time.
Or maybe all the Harbingers are like that.
"Perhaps it is fair to say that only those who possess an obsession close to or even exceeding the level of delusion might be willing to join this group."
(from the Funerary Mask description. I do think the mirror stands for something Khaenri'ahn though)

Fairyverse is a world where I imagine that background music is always playing; ever so softly, that you can hardly hear it. This is because I personally must listen to music whenever I write, and that music needs to be cherry-picked to fit the theme of whatever story/scene/character I’m currently engaged in.
Now, there are a few tracks I will listen to when I write general information regarding Fairyverse (I have a whole playlist but there are a few musical scores I go back to all the time), and I thought I might share them with you all, so that you may hear the general theme/vibe I’m going for.
I think I will also add the tracks I have (sort of) given to some of my characters as their supposed theme songs in Fairyverse. Is it their actual theme? No, but it is the tracks that sort of just clicked in my mind as being “theirs”, so to speak.
Also, not all fairies will be listed here, mostly just because I haven’t found a specific track that clicks with them yet, but I’ll be sure to update this post when that day inevitably comes around.

so like as a stand alone thing with no prior knowledge of it, netflix's 3 body problem is pretty good! HOWEVER, having read the books it is based on i am INCREDIBLY disappointed. first of all, they anglicized the FUCK out of it. like. the books are written by a chinese author and they are ABOUT chinese characters in chinese society. so the fact that the netflix show took those book characters' stories and created a bunch of brand new non-chinese characters to give those stories to... don't like that. rancid vibes. (and sure, the new characters are somewhat diversified, as in there's a black guy and a pakistani guy, but there are also 4 new white characters too so like.) but yeah they did that which isn't great but they ALSO are like. taking bits and pieces from all three of the books and mushing them into one show? and iiiiiiii gotta say im not a big fan of that either? like. i feel like these books are split up SO distinctly in their time lines — like they literally span a 400 year period — so to smush them all together does it a great disservice? and like the technology and futuristic developments and the space travel and the details of the space societies in the book were SO cool and those are either erased in the show or just aren't able to be portrayed because of they're squishing it all together. ALSO they changed the name of the aliens and i hate it??? like WHY?? the name they have in the book is cool and the one they gave them in the show... sucks. like what.
anyways. it's good if i ignore the books, but if i don't then im super disappointed :/

Matthew gives Dream a gift - inspired by this post by @themirokai, who writes excellent emotional-support-raven!Matthew content!
(Image ID under the cut)
Image ID:
digital art kept mostly in black-and-white greyscale, featuring Matthew the raven and Dream of the Endless from The Sandman.
Matthew is standing on the table, wings folded against his body and gazing slightly up, holding a necklace with a large sapphire pendant in his beak, which he is offering to Dream. The blue of the sapphire is the only colour in the picture.
Dream is seated next to the table, arms folded, holding a closed book in one hand. He has unruly black hair, very pale skin, and black eyes with a white, star-shaped pupil. He is also very thin and skeletal, and wearing a flowing black robe that leaves his neck, lower arms, and part of his midriff bare, and is held together by a pin on one shoulder.
He is leaning slightly down towards Matthew and has a small smile on his face, seemingly pleased with his gift.

I dunno where some people seem to have gotten the idea that Kenji doesn't like/care for Rio or smth because like. have ya'll actually gone through her social link???
like,,,
and it's at this point Rio's teammates and Yuko run and yell at him, Kenji panics and then runs off. When Yuko grumbles about Kenji comparing Rio to a bowl of ramen, Rio says this:
Ramen is his favourite thing in the world.
Kenji telling Rio he likes her "about as much as ramen" means that he likes about as much as his favourite thing in the world.
I think people also seem not to understand how things seem from Kenji's perspective.
To him, his childhood friend comes up to him and suddenly asks what he thinks of her, if he likes and how much which. is kind of a random thing to suddenly ask your friend that you've known since you were kids??? assuming they were like 5 or 6 when they met, that's basically a whole ass decade? Like it's clear in the way he speaks that he's confused and honestly I would be too???
Another thing to consider is that he and Rio where alone, Kenji likely said it the way he did bc he knew Rio, his childhood friend, would understand what he meant.
Like, I can get that he can sometimes come off as dense or insensitive but tbh I think he's just bad a picking up social cues? (oh he's just likely me for real- what do you mean i'm projecting?).
Like yeah sure Kenji very likely only sees her in a platonic sense (sorry Rio my heart goes out to you honey) but to outright assume he doesn't care about her is. raaggh.
(side note: in reload there's a dialogue from Kenji during the koromaru walks where he says "I mean, I keep telling them that we're just childhood friends, but they won't stop prying about it." and it is very likely he's talking about Rio bc this is 100% "my parents keep asking me if i'm dating my childhood friend that is also a girl" talk. Plus Kenji doesn't seem to be that close to many people so. interesting piece of info though ngl so I thought i'd mention it.)

Night Dream Episode 4
Another great, but too short, episode. They're 30ish minutes, but it's not enough!
But Dream's confusion and reluctance to believe Night likes him is starting to make sense if Night keeps kissing him and then leaving! And just never talking about it?!
Night looks at Dream with the most sincere expression and asks about his love story.
He says Dream's crush must love him too. And it starts cutting back and forth between the present and the stargazing scene. At which point, I was like, hmm we've already seen this. What else are we going to see here?
(Do you know he's in love with you, Night? Do you know you're in love with him? Who knows what?!)
And they're just staring at each other and getting closer to each other's faces. And Night's got his hand on Dream's wrist, and he's pulling him closer.
And then they're kissing IN BOTH SCENES! They kissed during the stargazing scene? They KISSED during the STARGAZING SCENE!
I don't know when that scene happened in terms of timeline. Like was that kiss why Dream was going to confess on Night's birthday?
But then Night stops kissing. And he looks away. And Dream wakes up alone and proceeds to be sad and distracted all day.
Night's so confused that he asks his friend at school about love, too. I wonder who's absence could hurt you, Night? Maybe think back to when Dream was gone for 4-5 years?
And we see Night and Dream staring at one another before Night leaves. But I wonder what happened. Did Night break up their kiss again? Did Dream? Why does this keep happening? How many times have these two kissed exactly? They both looked so sad and confused and hurt, so why?!??
Dream just sadly puts the wound tending supplies away :(
And we're left with Night's pondering face. But what is there to ponder, Night? You are in love with your best friend, buddy. Process that, so you two can be happy, please!
This guy is going to tell Namwan he likes her next episode? Why, Night! Did he really kiss Dream with tongue and then just never talk about it with him? What is going on in this man's head?!
I'm hoping it's a misleading preview. I wonder if maybe Dream tries to push him away again. And that's why he tells Namwan that. If he kissed Dream, and Dream told him that he likes Namwan, actually, then he must like Namwan, right? How many times can they kiss and not talk about it?
Other random thoughts for the episode, could Dream and his friends hear Night and Namwan talking? Did Dream think Night was agreeing to date her, if they couldn't hear? Because she was saying friend, but her hands were saying lover. I did really enjoy the two friends spying on Dream and Night and just going "Is it clear?" Yes, yes it is clear. I also loved Night asking if he would confess to his crush and bringing up how people in novels will try to confess but lose their nerve if they're interrupted, since Dream did plan on confessing to Night but got interrupted and then never did. Granted, the interruption was the death of his parents, so he had a lot on his mind at the time.
I really loved Night being ready to fight those bullies for Dream in the past and now. And how the one guy was taunting them by saying, what, are you his boyfriend? And Night's response was just "so what?" 🥰
