monday
you were in front of your dorm, digging for your keys in the mess of your backpack when a high-pitched voice yelled your name. of course, it could only belong to you best friend, blair. you prepared yourself to receive one of her bone-crushing hugs.
“there you are! i sent you like a million messages!”
“everything okay?” you asked before pulling away.
“yeah, i just have a little proposal.”
you narrowed your eyes at her, “what are you scheming?”
“you see, my gorgeous boyfriend is throwing this massive party on friday—”
“immediately no.”
“oh, c’mon!” she grumbled. “it’s been like five months since the last time we went out together. i miss my drunk little partner,” she pouted, pinching your cheek.
you let out a laugh, softly pushing away her hand out of your face. “i’m not exactly in a party mood, blair. i’m sorry.”
you made a poor attempt to avoid eye contact, but the weight of her stare was a difficult one to ignore. you looked back at her, already defeated.
“it’s nothing serious, but i’ve just been feeling a little insecure. and i’m okay,” you were quick to clarify, “i just want to stay in my dorm and watch a movie or something. it’s only temporary, i’ll feel better soon. you know i always do,” you opened the door and waited for her to inside first.
“how many times do i have to tell you you’re gorgeous for you to believe me? look at you!”
“blair—”
“i’m serious.”
“i know you are. thank you,” you replied softly. “forget about it, let’s just go inside. i’m tired and i wanna sleep.”
your friend had a worried look on her face, but decided to drop the subject, “still no roommate?”
“nope,” you grinned, closing the door behind you. “i’d invite you to live with me but you’re too busy staying at your boyfriend’s,” you teased her.
“can you blame me? his apartment is the size of a million of these dorms combined,” she exaggerated. “besides, he’s the sweetest man to ever exist. he’s every girl’s dream.” she sighed dreamily as she threw herself on the unoccupied bed. you raised your eyebrows at her, to which she rolled her eyes. “if he were a girl you’d be after him, too.”
after your friend bragged about her boyfriend for a few more minutes, both of you ended up falling asleep, totally drained from your long, boring classes. you woke up two hours later thanks to blair’s boyfriend who called her wondering where she was.
“wanna go grab some coffee? he’s paying!” blair offered with a big smile, which you returned.
“maybe he is every girl’s dream after all.”
you and blair headed outside shortly after, gossiping about people you didn’t even know. suddenly, your sleepy eyes spotted something strange on the door, more specifically, on the whiteboard you had outside. someone had left an anonymous message on it.
the prettiest girl on campus (and of everywhere else too) i wish i could come up with the courage to talk to you. guess i’ll just admire you from afar
ps: not in a creepy way
ps2: seriously sorry if this is creepy
you stared blankly at the message, reading it over and over again.
“did you do this?”
“hold on, i’m looking for that one tweet i saw. i’m telling you, she’s cheating on him—”
“blair!”
she finally looked up from her phone, “what?”
“did you do this?” you pointed at the board.
her expression comically changed from confusion to extreme excitement, eyes widened and mouth hung open. an over exaggerated gasp left her lips before she grabbed you by the shoulders.
“oh my god! you have a secret admirer!”
“no, i don’t. that’s probably not for me. someone must’ve mistaken my dorm for somebody else’s.”
“your name is literally on that board. besides, you are the prettiest girl to ever exist, so, i’m pretty sure they’re not mistaken.” blair kept looking at the note, meticulously analyzing it. “let’s pray it’s not a man who wrote this. imagine if he confesses his feelings for you in person. he’d be in for a very awkward rejection.”
you tried to downplay the situation by telling blair it was probably just a joke, but on the inside you couldn’t stop wondering who did it. as you walked down the hallway, you discreetly checked the whiteboards from the other dorms. all they had were random doodles and people’s names, nothing else.
tuesday
you were currently sitting under a big tree, admiring the sunset. birds chirped softly at the distance, adding even more magic to the beautiful scenery in front of you, but even the peaceful atmosphere that surrounded you wasn’t enough to calm your racing mind.
the anonymous note was certainly the most interesting thing that had happened to you in a while, but you were a serial overthinker. besides making you feel extremely curious about the identity of the person who wrote it, it had also made you spiral about the way you acted towards strangers.
being content with your small circle, you never put any effort in starting conversations with someone you didn’t already know. you felt as if you didn’t need anyone else in your life, but was that a mistake? what if the mystery person tried talking to you but you acted uninterested? what if they attempted to make eye contact but you were too busy staring down?
the most important question spinning around your head was how many special bonds had you lost simply because of your behavior?
as your silent crisis continued, the sun began to disappear on the horizon until it was fully dark. your eyes quickly found the moon, with the sky being clear, you could see her perfectly.
you took out your phone to take some pictures of the satellite, as well as everything else around you. the trees, your coffee cup, an empty bench and an orange cat that was laying next to it.
just as you were taking photos of the cute animal, someone crouched down next to him to pet him. that was the moment you saw her. a girl you had never seen before, but who managed to catch your attention right away. she was simply beautiful. many people, places, art pieces and more had been described with that adjective, but in your mind, that unknown girl was the first being in history to be worthy of it. you were completely mesmerized.
you put down your phone and watched the sweet moment develop in front of you. you could tell she was speaking to the cat, who seemed to really enjoy her company. the girl got up after a few minutes, giving the cat one last scratch between his ears before leaving. a frown instantly appeared on her face the moment she looked away from the animal, making you chuckle. she looked absolutely intimidating, the total opposite of what you had just witnessed.
your eyes followed her until she disappeared from your sight, but her image stayed on your mind for the rest of the day.
wednesday
you were having one of those days when everything that can go wrong, goes wrong. you had slept through your alarm, didn’t have time to have breakfast, couldn’t find your books and forgot your jacket on your way out. one may think it couldn’t get worse, well, unfortunately, it could.
you felt your soul escape your body when the, feared by many, physics professor laid his demonic eyes on you. you were certain you looked insane; hair a total mess, completely out of breath and slightly shaking from your nervousness.
“class started ten minutes ago,” his strident voice echoed in the big classroom. you didn’t even need to look to know everyone’s eyes were on you.
“i know,” your voice pathetically quivered. “sorry.”
“for your information, if you have somewhere to be you wake early enough to make it on time. it’s not rocket science, all of your classmates did it.” when he got no reply from you, he sighed. “there’s only one more seat available at the back. lucky for you, you’ll be sitting next to one of my best students. maybe you could be friends, she could teach you how to get here on time.”
with your eyes glued to the floor, you walked straight to where the professor pointed to without making a sound. you tried your best to ignore your classmates’ stares, but they lacked discretion.
fortunately for you, a nice surprised awaited you. the student the professor mentioned was none other than the girl you had seen the day before. she was even more beautiful up-close, which wasn’t exactly a good thing. she had just witnessed your most embarrassing moment. still, her eyes radiated kindness.
“this guy’s an idiot. you were only a few minutes late and didn’t even miss much. he was just struggling to turn on the projector the whole time,” the girl whispered at you once you sat down.
you were ready to reply with just a ‘yeah’, but the crisis you had the day before stopped you.
“he’s the worst,” you replied instead. “i always feel on the verge of puking whenever he looks at me,” the regret you felt after saying that was immediate, fearing it was too much information.
you felt yourself relax at the sound of her laugh, and of course it had to be the most heavenly sound you had ever heard.
“i’m ellie williams,” she leaned in, reaching over for your hand. you introduced yourself as your brain started mindlessly picking up details about her, like the fact that she had many freckles scattered all over her face.
you held her gaze for a few seconds before looking back at the professor, who had begun talking about punctuality. he sent you multiple looks during his whole speech, you found it hilarious. he looked like as if his eyes were about to pop out of his sockets.
trying to act as normal as possible, you grabbed your water bottle and took a sip in an attempt to calm down. you realized that was a huge mistake once you glanced at ellie, who was trying her hardest to hold in her laugh. you almost spit out your water when she made eye contact with you, causing you to choke.
“shit, you alright?” she leaned in, now fully laughing, and patted your back.
“yes— yeah,” you managed to say in between your coughing and laughing. you looked around, noticing how quiet the classroom had gotten. yours’ and ellie’s voices were the only thing cutting through the deadly silence. “sorry, i choked on water— sorry,” you apologized to the professor, who was impatiently tapping his foot on the floor.
“may i continue, ladies? is that okay with you two or should i wait for you to be done?” neither of you answered, so he let out one of his classic sighs. “as i was saying…”
the moment he looked away, you covered your face with your hands, trying to muffle the giggles that were escaping your lips. ellie was in the same state as you, which only made things worse.
“if he didn’t hate me before, he sure does now,” you whispered, eyes sparkling with amusement. “why does he have to be such a dick? it’s not like a choked on purpose. i could’ve died,” you dramatized.
actually, it’d be very rare to die from choking on a liquid, ellie almost said, but she didn’t want you to think she was a smart-ass. instead, she just kept laughing.
silence grew between the two of you as you came back to your notes and tried to pay attention to the class. ellie’s eyes inevitably fell on you again, trying to come up with something to say to keep the conversation going.
“you know, i, personally, wouldn’t take advice from a person like him, but i think he’s right about us being friends.”
“yeah, i think he is,” you warmly smiled before looking down at your notes again, unable to hold her gaze.
having fun in physics class seemed impossible at the beginning of the semester, but it had actually happened. you and ellie talked the whole time, which made the minutes go by faster than expected and also annoyed everyone around you.
“see you next wednesday? try to be on time, though. i don’t want him to kill you in front of the whole class.”
you laughed at ellie’s words and nodded, “see you next week.”
i really hope it’s sooner than that, the thought appeared in your mind without warning. you watched ellie go, a shy smile appeared on your lips when she glanced back at you and caught you staring.
the rest of the morning felt boring and uneventful in comparison to physics class, so you were really excited to finally be back at your dorm. your tired eyes fell on the whiteboard, no message from the mystery person. you tried to ignore how weirdly disappointed you felt and went inside, telling yourself it had been, probably, a one time thing.
thursday
shyness had never been a problem for you but, still, socializing wasn’t really your thing. if there was a chance for you to avoid interaction with strangers, you took it, so it was certainly weird seeing ellie at the dining hall and feeling an intense need to say hi. good thing she wasn’t exactly a stranger, right?
she was sitting alone in one of the most secluded tables, eyes focused on her phone. without giving it much thought, you walked towards her, but you began second guessing your decision once you realized she probably wanted to be alone. your steps became more hesitant the closer you got to her and just as you were about to turn around and leave she looked up. her surprised expression quickly changed into a delighted one.
“hey,” she greeted as she took off her headphones.
“hi,” you smiled back as a feeling of panic started setting in. you had absolutely no idea of what to say to her.
“you can sit if you’d like,” she offered, gesturing to the seat in front of her.
“you’re not busy? i can leave if you alone if—”
“no way,” ellie shook her head and, with her foot, pushed the chair towards you before looking up at you. “c’mon, sit.”
the moment you sat down, she leaned forward. you, instinctively, leaned back, but kept your hands just a few inches away from hers. you bit the inside of your cheek, trying your hardest to hold her gaze.
“so, how you’ve been? had any nightmares about our beloved professor yelling at you?” ellie asked, amused. you internally thanked her for starting the conversation.
“i can see his spit flying at me in slow motion whenever i close my eyes,” you replied, making ellie laugh. “that was definitely the last time i’m late to class. i hate attention, if i have to go through something like that again i’ll just die on the spot.”
ellie’s smile hadn’t faded since the moment she saw you, “just try not to be late to any of his classes, he’s the only one who gives you shit for that,” she adviced. “i knew he was insane because i’ve heard about it, so i tried to get on his good side by always being early. i considered sitting at the front, too, but that was too much.”
“you always sit at the back?”
“yeah, i don’t like having people behind me. for some reason, it really freaks me out knowing someone is staring at the back of my head.”
you hummed in response, mind deep in thought. you never looked at the back when you entered the classroom, in fact, you kept your head down, but ellie had always been there.
how many special bonds had you lost simply because of your behavior?
“hey, my friend’s boyfriend is throwing a party this friday, i was wondering if you’d like to go.”
“cool, yeah, of course,” ellie quickly replied.
“yeah?” you beamed, biting down your bottom lip.
“yes,” she nodded, the corners of her mouth quirking up again, “can i bring a friend?”
“sure,” you smiled. you took out a pen and a post-it from your backpack and wrote the address before sticking it on her hand. your eyes wandered further and ended up on her watch. without a second thought, you grabbed her wrist and pulled her closer to you, tilting your head to see the time. “shit, i gotta go to class, but i’ll see you friday?”
“see you then,” ellie said, but she didn’t want you to leave, and you didn’t want to go either. she hesitated before calling your name, making you turn around. “can i walk you to class?”
the question lingered in the air as you processed it. it had caught you completely off guard, which ellie could tell just by seeing your expression. fearing she messed up, time began moving slower and slower to her until you finally accepted her offer with a huge grin on your face.
ellie released the air stuck in her lungs before catching up with you. anyone with a pair of working eyes could see how nervous the two of you were, except yourselves. you were too busy focused on not to embarrass yourself by tripping and ellie was trying to regulate her breathing. neither of you dared to talk because it would make it too obvious, but ellie finally broke the silence once you stepped outside, asking you what class you had.
you had always hated small talk because you feared there’d be a point in which you wouldn’t know what else to say, but that moment never came with ellie. the conversation flowed smoothly between smiles and chuckles from the both of you.
“oh, look!” she suddenly said, casually grabbing you by your shoulder as if she had done it a thousand times before. you followed her line of sight and gasped when your eyes spotted a familiar orange cat. it was the same one you had seen ellie pet when you didn’t even know her yet. “wanna go say hi?”
“how is that even a question?”
ellie was the first one to approach him, crouching down in front of him. you copied her action a second later, already eager to pet him.
“his name is orange. original, right?” ellie sarcastically asked, gaining a laugh from you. “i didn’t name him, by the way. he has a tag with his name.”
“hi, little guy,” you pouted, scratching the back of his head.
“he must live nearby because he’s always here,” ellie told you. “he’s missing an eye, but he’s still cute, right?” she glanced over her shoulder.
you two were close. closer than a simple girl like ellie could handle. your perfume was all that she could smell, you were the only thing she could look at and her own heartbeat was the only sound she could hear.
“he’s the cutest,” you chuckled.
you stayed there for a couple more minutes. ellie told you about the first time she saw orange and you told her about the pets you had back home. it was such a sweet conversation, both of you using soft voices to not scare the cat away.
“alright, let’s go. i don’t want you being late to another class,” ellie told you as she stood up. “see you later, dude,” she waved at orange. surprisingly, the cat meowed back. “we’re best friends,” ellie jokingly bragged as both of you began to walk again.
“do you think he’ll accept me as a friend, too?”
“oh, absolutely. he loves you already.”
you ended up getting to class just in time, but you wouldn’t have cared if you were late. if it were for you, you would’ve skipped it just to keep hanging out with ellie.
“see you tomorrow, then?” you asked, hopeful.
“see you tomorrow,” ellie confirmed as she took a few steps back in your opposite direction, her eyes never leaving you until she fully turned around.
friday
it had been a while since you’d last chosen an outfit with someone in mind, wondering if they would like it. it took a while, but you finally settled on one. it was neatly laying on top of your bed.
“she’ll totally fall in love when she sees you in that,” blair’s voice cut through the silence, startling you.
“i’ve no idea who you’re talking about,” you obviously lied.
“maybe the girl you’ve been talking to me about since you met her?” blair guessed, “or is it the mysterious person who left you that note on monday?”
“it’s not weird that i still think about who could it be, is it?”
even if you had many other things to think about, the identity of the secret admirer, as blair had called them, was something that you were still curious about. it was difficult not to overthink every interaction you had with strangers, especially those who you’d catch staring or were friendlier than normal with you.
“are you kidding? if i were you, i would’ve asked every single person on campus if they knew anything about it,” she sat down on your bed, next to where your clothes were and handed them to you with a wink. “both ellie and the secret admirer will die when they see you tonight.”
a pathetic giggle escaped your lips on the way to the bathroom. you quickly changed into your chosen outfit, a rare feeling of exciment growing on inside you.
once you arrived at the party, you wasted no time and started looking for ellie. there were many familiar faces in the already drunken crowd, some of them even waved at you, but you didn’t even notice. between the lights and the loud music, you could barely pay attention to your own thoughts.
“what was she like again?” blair asked you, trying to help you find her.
“hot,” you replied, still scanning the room.
“right, thanks. that really helps.”
you laughed, “she’s—” your description was cut short when you suddenly locked eyes with her across the room. there was someone by her side, a girl who looked familiar but you couldn’t pinpoint where you knew her from. “she’s here.”
ellie leaned into her friend’s ear to say something, but her eyes never left yours. you tried to remain calm as you watched her walk towards you, looking annoyingly attractive.
“hey, there you are,” she greeted once she was close enough for you to hear her.
“hi! you came,” you beamed. “this is blair, my best friend. blair, this is ellie.”
“it’s really nice to meet you,” ellie shot a quick glance at your friend before glueing her eyes on you again.
knowing that that was her cue to leave, blair gave you a squeeze on your arm, “if you’ll excuse me, i have to go find my boyfriend. enjoy the party,” she wiggled her eyebrows at you before disappearing into the crowd.
“shouldn’t you call your friend over?” it was a genuine question, not wanting ellie to ditch the person she was with for you, but you also needed to know if she was really just a friend.
ellie looked over her shoulder and let out a chuckle, “i think she’s pretty busy.”
confused, you looked behind her. all of your doubts were cleared once you spotted her, she was making out with some girl.
she was definitely just a friend.
“oh,” you let out a short laugh. “good for her.”
ellie nodded at your words before looking back at you again. you were still distracted by the show ellie’s friend was giving and were completely oblivious to the spell you had put her under.
“you look really good,” she blurted out.
you broke into a sweet smile at the sudden compliment, “oh, thank you. you do too. really, really good.”
the fluttering of your heart made you want to burst into giggles, feeling extremely giddy. it was obvious how flustered you were, but seeing ellie in the same state as you made you feel slightly better. you would’ve never guess she’d be the type of person who blushes.
“wanna go for something to drink?”
you nodded at her question before reaching for her hand with the excuse of not losing each other on the way to the kitchen. ellie’s fingers quickly intertwined with yours as you started to lead the way. you offered many apologizes to the people who you accidentally bumped into, the place was absolutely packed and it was difficult to move. the kitchen was no different, you had barely any place to walk.
you grabbed two beer bottles and handed one to ellie, who looked a bit flushed from the previous interaction.
“next time someone doesn’t move after i say ‘excuse me’ i’ll just hit them on their ribs,” you furrowed your eyebrows. “where did they put the bottle opener?” you muttered to yourself, but ellie seemed to have heard you.
“here, let me help.”
you passed her the bottle and watched as she opened it against the table, taking the top off immediately.
“impressive,” you praised her before taking a sip. you grimaced at the taste.
ellie leaned back on the kitchen island, keeping her eyes on you. there was an amused smirk on her lips, “you don’t like it?”
“not really. i mean, it’s not like i hate it, but i only drink beer when there’s no other option,” you shrugged your shoulders. “i think there’s more to drink over there but there’s too many people and i don’t feel like getting trapped between sweaty drunk dudes.”
ellie swept her gaze over the kitchen before walking towards one of the many cabinets. “there’s gotta be something else in here,” she said as she opened every single door. “there it is!” ellie turned around and your eyes fell to her hands, she was holding a bottle of vodka. it was almost empty. “shots, anyone?” she offered.
a guy who was at the kitchen cheered, “hell yeah!”
ellie frowned, disgusted. “not you. go get your own bottle.”
a laugh escaped your lips at how disappointed the guy seemed to be, he immediately left after ellie’s words. “that was kind of mean,” you chuckled lightly.
ellie couldn’t tell you that she actually blew him off because of how shamelessly he checked you out the moment you entered the kitchen, so she just shrugged her shoulders. “he didn’t find it. open up,” she commanded you, placing a hand on your chin. you opened your mouth and felt how ellie poured the liquid down your throat.
“gross,” you wrinkled your nose. you grabbed the bottle from her hands and copied her action, softly grabbing her by her chin. she drank what was left of the vodka and you left the bottle on the counter behind her.
ellie smiled at you as she swiped her fingers across the corner of her lips. she gave you one last glance before walking past you. you watched her open more drawers and cabinets.
“psst, come here,” she called you over.
“what did you find?”
ellie looked around to check no one else was listening. you laughed at how secretive she was being. “look,” she whispered, she had found a box of chocolate covered strawberries. “shall we?” she offered, eyebrows up.
“absolutely,” you accepted, laughing. “but not here. let’s go to the balcony. it’s closed but i know where they keep the keys.”
ellie pushed herself off the table she was laying on and grabbed your hand, “i’ll lead this time, i know where it is.”
you stared down at your hands, blindly trusting her to guide you.
“how do you know where it is?”
“well, i kind of looked everywhere for you when i got here,” she admitted. “thought you stood me up.”
“sorry, i took forever to get ready,” you apologized, embarrassed.
“don’t worry, it was totally worth it,” ellie shot a quick glance at you as she said that, knowing it would mess you up. her personality changed from shy to flirty in a matter of seconds, so you didn’t really know what to expect of her.
you let out a sigh of relief once you were on the balcony, grateful for how muffled the people and music sounded from outside. “i remember why i haven’t gone out in months now,” you rolled your eyes.
“not a party girl, huh?” ellie let out a chuckle, leaning against the wall. she offered you a strawberry, which you gladly took.
“not lately,” you replied after taking a bite.
“so what made you go out tonight?”
you shrugged, “it was an impulse,” your answer was honest, but it was missing the rest of it.
because i wanted to see you again.
“it really helps you’re here, though,” you clarified. “actually, it doesn’t only help, you’re the only reason i’m enjoying this.”
“same here,” she smiled at you before looking up at the sky, she got lost in her thoughts for a moment before speaking up again. “it sucks that city lights don’t let us see the stars properly.”
you scoffed at her words, “i know, but hey, at least we have the moon,” you pointed at the satellite. “she never disappoints.”
there had been a few times were you felt as if the universe was on your side, somehow listening to you. that night was the moment you confirmed your theory because, coincidentally enough, the lights went off in what it seemed to be the entire city. a collective scream was heard from inside the apartment, along with multiple curses.
you took out your phone and turned on your flashlight, accidentally pointing it at ellie’s eyes.
“ow!” she let out, squinting her eyes. you couldn’t help but laugh, to which she complained.
“sorry, didn’t mean to blind you. especially now,” your excitement was enough to spark ellie’s curiosity.
“what do you mean?”
“come with me,” you grabbed her hand for the third time that day, knowing you’d miss doing that when the night came to an end. you still hadn’t gotten used to the weird, almost electric feeling that tingled in your palm whenever you touched her.
you guided her through the disappointed multitude, letting out apologies every now and then and also pushing those who didn’t move after you politely asked. you couldn’t blame them, though, they had used the darkness to their advantage and were shamelessly making out.
the air was ten times colder on the terrace than it was on the balcony, but neither of you cared because once you looked up you forgot about everything else. well, except maybe each other.
the view was completely breathtaking. without the light pollution, the sky looked straight out of a painting.
“it’s like looking straight at space,” you whispered, eyes sparkling with excitement. you had only seen the stars like that once in your life when you were a kid. it was as magical as you remembered, and the person you were sharing the moment with only made everything more special.
“i know,” ellie gazed at you before looking up again. “it blows my mind.”
as the night went on, you talked about many different things whilst laying on the floor; how your lives back home were, your friends, your families, favorite movies and songs and of course, with both of you being astronomy students, space-related stuff. you two were interested in each other’s point of view about everything, so you discussed many different subjects, enjoying the freedom to be incredibly nerdy about it.
“our lifespan is way too short. i mean, think about it. look at how many things have changed and advanced in only a hundred years. can you imagine how the world will change in, like, a thousand years?”
“maybe in fifty more years scientists will discover the key to immortality and we’ll be able to see everything,” ellie shrugged her shoulders. “or we could try to discover it ourselves once we graduate.”
you let out a laugh, “such an easy thing to do,” you sarcastically said. “i’m in, but maybe we could try with something easier, like, finding extraterrestrial forms of life, perhaps?”
“apparently, they are already here,” ellie pointed out.
you turned your head at her, “we’ll be the first to make friends with them, then. we’re pretty nice people, they’ll warm up to us.”
“deal,” she smiled at you, inevitably glancing at your lips for a second due to the proximity.
you kept enjoying each other’s company. there were moments in which neither of you spoke but, surprisingly enough, you didn’t care. even silence was fun with her.
neither of you had experienced a connection as strong as the one you had, especially in such a short amount of time. you didn’t question it, thought, it just made sense.
after a while, the power came back. the city was illuminated and the music from the party was back on. you two sat up, a little saddened that you couldn’t stargaze anymore.
“it was fun while it lasted,” you commented, ready to return to the apartment. you picked up the beer bottles from the floor, along with the empty box of chocolate strawberries.
“we can always go camping,” ellie suggested. “the sky will look even better than tonight.”
“i have zero survival skills, so you’d be in charge of everything. i can interest you with some random facts, though.”
“sounds good,” she laughed as she stood by the door and opened it, waiting for you to go inside first. the walk to the apartment was quiet, hating the fact the that night was coming to an end.
the loud music welcomed you again, people were even crazier after having to wait half an hour for the power to come back. it surprised you to see the same amount of people, apparently, none of them had left.
“i know it’s a friday night but, how the fuck has your friend managed to not get kicked out yet?” ellie leaned into your ear.
“this building is mostly occupied by other students, so they are probably at the party, too,” you explained, raising your voice a little so she could hear you.
everyone was euphorically dancing, making up for the lost time. you glanced at ellie before grabbing her hand and dragging her to the improvised dance floor. she instantly followed you, completely mesmerized.
“oh my god, there you are! i thought i was imagining things when i saw you earlier,” a familiar voice said from behind you. it was tara, you shared some classes and had been partners in a project once. “you look so good.”
“oh, hey, tara. this ell—”
“yeah, hi,” she interrupted you, only glancing at ellie for half a second. “could you walk me to the bathroom? i– i don’t know where it is and i feel pretty sick.”
your eyes flickered between the two girls. you obviously wanted to stay with ellie, but tara had put you in a really awkward position.
“uh…” you hesitated, “where are your friends?”
“they already left,” she frowned. “c’mon, babe, come with me? please.”
the nickname she used echoed in ellie’s mind.
“i can’t, i—”
“you should go. i should check on my friend, so…” ellie’s lips were in a straight line, but she forced a smile when you looked at her.
“why don’t you come with us?”
ellie would’ve agreed if she hadn’t seen the nasty look tara had given her. she wasn’t intimidated by her in the slightest, but the thought of being a burden and indirectly forcing you not to leave her alone was enough to let you go, even if she didn’t want to.
“no, really. i need to go see if she’s okay. i’ll find you later.”
you didn’t have time to respond, because you had already been dragged away from there. tara started chatting your ear off about stuff you didn’t care, you could only think about ellie.
“do you want me to call you an uber or something?” you asked her.
“why would i wanna leave?”
“you said you were sick and you’re pretty drunk, you should go home.”
“oh, no, silly. i live in this building, maybe you could walk me to my apartment?”
you refrained from rolling your eyes in front of her and realized that the sooner you got rid of her, the sooner you could go back to the girl you actually wanted to be with.
“c’mon, let’s go,” you said. on the way out you messaged blair to find ellie and tell her you’d be right back, to which she answered she was on it.
you took the elevator to her floor. you could tell tara wanted you to initiate a conversation by the way she was looking at you, but you couldn’t care less about her. she hadn’t noticed, apparently, because she started talking about god knows what as you walked behind her, completely zoned out.
“wanna come in?” she asked you once you were outside her apartment. her intentions were crystal clear but, as flattered as you were, you couldn’t help but feel completely uncomfortable.
“uh, no, thanks,” you awkwardly said.
“you sure? i’ve got—”
“yes, tara, i’m sure. i gotta go, i’m sorry. you’ll be okay, though, right? see you around,” you took a step back with each word you said, by the end of the sentence you were in front of the elevator. you heard tara let out a very confused ‘bye’ before the doors closed.
you impatiently tapped your foot against the floor, wondering why was the elevator taking so long. once you were back at the party you immediately searched for ellie, but she was nowhere to be found. instead, you saw blair, who had a worried look on her face.
“hey,” you approached her. “did you talk to ellie?”
“i couldn’t. i saw her leave with that girl she was with like a minute after you texted me,” she grimaced. “what happened? why were you with tara?”
you sighed, “i’m so stupid,” you groaned. “tara found me and she put me in this really difficult spot, so i had to walk her to her apartment because she was pretty fucking drunk and feeling very sick, or at least that’s what she told me, and i did it as fast as i could, but—”
“okay, okay. stop. why don’t you text ellie and—”
“i don’t have her number.”
“try instagram?”
“i tried finding her on instagram the same day i met her and i couldn’t,” you awkwardly confessed. “she probably thinks i blew her off for stupid tara.”
“hey, calm down. i’m sure you’ll see her soon.”
sadly, that soon never came. saturday, sunday, monday and tuesday went by painfully slow. there was no sight of ellie.
wednesday
you were a hopeless romantic, even if you didn’t admit it out loud. deep down, you knew that meeting ellie wasn’t a coincidence. it could’ve happened at any given moment due to being classmates, but it did when you needed it the most.
it was unexpected, but as said before, you felt as if sometimes the universe was on your side, listening to your deepest desires, the ones you didn’t know needed to be fulfilled.
you had never felt a connection as genuine as the one you had with her. everything seemed easy with her, making you feel you’d known her for longer than a week.
that doesn’t happen often, especially to you, so you would do anything in your power to fix things.
you were currently in physics class, counting down the minutes for it to end. you had to fight the urge to look at the back to see if ellie was there.
the thought of her being mad at you for practically abandoning at the party you invited her to made you sick. you also feared she didn’t care at all, which was a hundred times worse.
once the class ended you waited for her outside, trying to calm down your racing heart. the majority of students had already come out. you had just started to lose hope of seeing her when you finally heard her voice. she was saying goodbye to the professor.
“hi,” you nervously smiled when she was in front of you. her looking as good as always didn’t help you calm down at all. “i’ve been hoping to see you since friday. i wanted to apologize—”
“oh, you don’t have to do that. i get it. i saw you leave with that girl, tara, was it? it’s okay, you don’t have to explain anything—”
“no, no. i didn’t leave with her,” you clarified. “she wasn’t feeling good so she asked me to walk her to her apartment, which was in that same building, and i only did it to get rid of her. i know i sound like a major dick, but i wanted to go back to you as soon as possible,” you confessed, heart beating a hundred miles per minute.
“you did?” there was a smile hiding on her lips, you could tell by the tone she used. she was amused and obviously enjoyed seeing you flustered.
“yes, and i told blair to find you and tell you that i’d be right back, but when i did you had already left and i had no way of communicating with you, so…” ellie was quiet, so you continued. “i’m sorry.“
it felt like an eternity until she spoke again. “i’m sorry i left.”
“it’s not your fault,“ you mused. “it’s tara’s.”
“it so is,” ellie let out a chuckle. “i’ll fuck her up.”
you laughed, which made ellie’s stomach flip. both of you became numb to your surroundings as you stared into each other’s eyes, dumb smiles plastered on your faces.
“hey, about that paper that we have to do on electromagnetism. would you, maybe, uh, want to do it with me?”
“yes, i’d love to,” you grinned. “we could meet at the library tomorrow. do you have any classes in the morning?”
“just one, it ends at 10.”
“see you at 11?”
“yeah,” ellie nodded.
“oh, i almost forgot,” you said before taking out your phone. ellie curiously watched you type something before you handed it to her.
an adorable smile formed on her lips when she saw you were asking for her number. you had already typed in her name with the alien emoji next to it.
“thank you,” you mused when she gave your phone back to you. you instantly sent her a text so she could save your number on hers, too.
“see you tomorrow :)”
ellie looked up from her phone, mouth upturned. “see you then.”
tuesday
“the library’s closed,” ellie announced the moment she saw you.
the lights were turned off and there was a sign on the door that read ‘closed for reparations’.
“awh, man,” you complained. “why didn’t they tell us sooner—”
“actually, they did. i just checked and they sent us an email about a week ago, we just don’t check our inbox,” ellie interrupted you, grimacing.
“oh, our fault then,” you shrugged your shoulders. “um, maybe we could go to my dorm? i don’t have a roommate so nobody will bother us,” you offered.
“woah, i’d give everything to have my dorm all to myself,” she groaned, tilting her head back. “why don’t you have a roommate?”
you didn’t realize you had already started walking together, mindlessly leading the way to your dorm.
“i had one at the beginning of the semester, but then she dropped out or something. they told me i’ll probably get one next semester, so i’m enjoying it while it lasts,” you explained.
ellie huffed, “my roommate is a music producer. she’s pretty considerate but sometimes she has to listen to her songs without headphones,” she rolled her eyes. “i think i’m gonna find a job and move out to an apartment.”
“you totally should. i’d do it too if i were capable of balancing work and college,” you told her. “you’re welcome to stay at mine’s for as long as you want and whenever you want, by the way.”
“really?” she grinned. “you’re already asking me to live together? i haven’t even met your parents, yet.”
you rolled your eyes, a playful smile growing on your lips, “fine, my offer is off the table, then.”
“oh, no. now it’s too late. i’m moving in tomorrow morning.”
ellie spent the entire walk planning an itinerary for when she moved in with you, which basically consisted in eating breakfast together, go to class, come back and have lunch together, have more classes, come back and have dinner together then have a sleepover every night.
“sounds fun, huh?”
“super fun,” you chuckled as you opened the door for her. “guests first,” you stepped aside, inviting her in.
“hey, this is practically my dorm, too, now,” ellie joked, curiously looking around as she scratched the back of her neck. she was trying her hardest not to show how nervous she actually was, but the fluttering on her stomach made it really hard.
you were in the same state as her, trying not to freak out. your eyes discreetly checked every corner of the room, making sure everything was in order and there was nothing embarrassing laying around.
ellie chuckled to herself when she noticed the ceiling was decorated with a bunch of stickers that glowed in the dark. stars and planets were placed all over.
“i know they’re childish,” you wrinkled your nose, visibly cringing.
“are you kidding? i love them. these will be the first thing i’ll buy for my new place,” her gaze fell from the ceiling to your eyes, a genuine smile spreading across her lips.
ellie kept looking around your dorm, grabbing stuff that caught her attention. it was funny seeing her ask for permission each time, looking back at you and pointing at the object she wanted to check out.
you took out your laptop from your backpack and sat down on your bed. it immediately bummed you out when you remembered that you had to do an assignment and weren’t just hanging out for fun.
“i’m gonna create a google drive file so we can both edit it later in case we don’t finish it today,” you informed her.
“yeah, that’s a good idea,” ellie replied, focused on a bracelet she had found on your desk. then, she continued snooping around your things, sometimes mumbling cool and i’m going to borrow this.
you checked the questions you had to answer and immediately sighed, “i’m completely lost.”
“want me to explain it to you?” she offered and you obviously accepted. ellie looked at the big whiteboard behind her and grabbed a marker from your desk. “okay, so you know that the earth’s core is mainly composed of liquid in the outer core and solid iron in the inner core?”
you tried your hardest to keep your attention on what she was saying, but the task turned impossible. her voice sounded muffled and you could only focus on how good she looked. you let out a few yeahs and rights when you thought it was appropriate, but the truth was that you didn’t know what the hell she was talking about.
“and this field has existed for at least three billions years, which is nuts, right?” you ears managed to make out of all the things she was saying. you saw how she laughed, clearly enjoying talking about the subject. you probably would too if you could be capable of actually listen and process what she was saying.
you watched as she continued to write and draw stuff on the board at the same time she explained something to you, but you couldn’t keep your eyes off of her.
“that’s about it, got it?” she asked, turning around.
“uh…” you let out, not being capable of forming an actual sentence.
ellie chuckled, amused, “you alright?”
“yes, it’s just—”
“was there something you didn’t understand? i can go over it again,” ellie kindly offered, but you could hardly hear her over the loud beating of your heart.
you weren’t really planning to, but you stood up. it was as if you were on autopilot, there was something else controlling your body and you couldn’t do anything to stop it. you walked closer to ellie, who looked confused.
“if i’m being honest, i didn’t listen to a word you said,” you confessed, smiling guiltily. “i swear i tried to, but there was something else on my mind.”
“what’s that?” ellie asked in a whisper, eyes scanning your face. you were extremely close to her.
“i don’t think i can go another minute without kissing you,” you softly confessed, looking up into her eyes. her pupils were dilated and a light blush had started to color her cheeks.
“no one is stopping you,” she replied, wholly captivated by you.
not even a second later, you crashed your lips into hers. ellie joyfully giggled, but that didn’t stop her from hungrily kissing you back. her hands found their way up to the sides of your face while yours ended up tangled in her hair.
ellie broke the kiss first, but your lips were still touching. “i’m still deeply disappointed you didn’t listen to my physics lesson.”
“i’m sorry,” you chuckled. “i heard some parts, you were great. i learned a lot.”
ellie smiled before leaning in again, bringing you impossibly closer to her as she gave you a breathtaking kiss. you melted against her, already eager for the kiss to end just so you could do it over and over again.
“this would’ve happened sooner if it weren’t for tara,” ellie joked, reaching over to grab your hand.
“i’ll kill her next time i see her,” you were standing so close to each other that you replied with a whisper.
ellie frowned, “you’re not seeing her again.”
“oh? i would’ve never guessed you were the jealous type,” you teased her, placing your arms on her shoulders again and bringing her even closer to you. ellie looked even better than before. her lips were reddened, her hair was a mess and her eyes had become even more hypnotic.
you could’ve stayed admiring her for hours, but a glance over her shoulder was all it took for you to wake up from your trance. you walked past her to take a closer look at the whiteboard she had used. it wasn’t what she had written that caught your attention, but the handwriting itself. it looked incredibly familiar.
your mind quickly came up with a crazy theory, which ellie’s expression confirmed the moment you looked back at her.
“you were the one who left me that note on my door?”
ellie’s confident and teasing demeanor was long gone. she looked panicked. her heartbeat accelerated significantly and she felt as she was running out of air.
“oh my god,” your mouth fell agape, a smile creeping up on your lips. “you did!”
she covered her face with her hands, letting out a groan, “you weren’t supposed to know that.”
“why?”
“it’s embarrassing! we didn’t even know each other when i did it. it’s weird—”
“it’s sweet!”
“it’s weird,” she repeated, not being able to look at you.
you smiled fondly at her, reaching for her hand and giving her a squeeze, “it really helped me, you know? it was as if you knew i needed it.”
ellie grimaced, “well, i actually kind of did…”
“what do you mean?”
she sat down on your bed, making you sit next to her. you didn’t let go of her hand. instead, you played with her fingers in an attempt to calm her down.
“i visited my friend that day, her dorm is across the hall. i was just about to leave when i saw you coming. i panicked, so i hid and accidentally overheard what you were saying to your friend,” she admitted. “i meant what i wrote. i’ve thought that way about you ever since i first saw you. it seemed like the perfect moment to tell you, at least indirectly.”
“but why didn’t you tell me in person? or at least, talked to me sooner.”
“i’m not as brave as i look and you’re fucking intimidating.”
you let out a laugh in disbelief, “me, intimidating? look at you!”
“no, look at you. you’re way to beautiful for me to just come up to you and tell you that. who could have the guts?”
“oh my god, shut up,” you hid your face in your hands, feeling how your heart fluttered like crazy at her words.
“i couldn’t tell you after we began talking, either. we were just getting to know each other, it would’ve been weird,” ellie stared down at your intertwined hands. “it’s still kind of weird,” she mumbled more to herself than for you to hear.
not being able to take it anymore, you succumbed to the urge of throwing yourself at her, leaving many kisses all over her face. the sound of her laugh made the butterflies in your stomach to fly all over the place.
“you’re the sweetest girl i’ve ever met.”
“don’t say that about me. i have a reputation to maintain,” she jokingly rolled her eyes. “so, be honest, you don’t think it was weird?”
“of course not. i think it was fate.”
“fate?”
“wait here.”
you quickly walked over to your desk where you had left your phone. you immediately searched for the picture you had taken of her last tuesday and almost ran to show it to her.
“is that me?” ellie grabbed the phone from your hands and zoomed in the picture.
“yup,” you nodded. “this was the day before we first talked. i was taking pictures of orange and you appeared, out of nowhere. you looked as you’d beat the person who dared to speak to you,” a laugh escaped your lips. “i thought about for the rest of the day and hoped to see you again, and guess what? i did. see? it was fate.”
ellie warmly smiled, she caressed your cheek with her fingers before bringing you closer to give you the softest kiss ever given, “i guess it was.”

Screaming
So much blood
I’m screaming but no one is coming to help
He’s dead
Mikeys dead right in front of me
I couldn’t save him
*My eyes snap open*
Stupid fucking nightmares, I can never fucking catch a break ever since Mikeys death. It feels like I keep failing him in my dreams over and over again. I can never get there in time. When I happened to bump into Mikey in a bar on my 21st birthday, I never would’ve imagined he’d be my best friend. I also would’ve never guessed that he would break my heart worse than any man ever could. The images of him lying….. there flash behind my eyes over and over again as I get ready for a long day at The Beef. The images flash as I drive and get inside, but as soon as I step inside and smell the familiarity, I’m ok. I open my locker and start slowly getting ready in silence, I’m not usually early but I just couldn’t be at home any longer. “Hey” I hear a familiar voice behind me, yet I still jump “Hey Carm” my voice comes out soft and shaky. “Why are you here so early?” concern and confusion lace his voice “Woke up earlier than usual, didn’t see a reason not to” I don’t know why I decided to lie to him, out of all people Carmen can see right through me.
“Don’t lie to me chef, please” he tries to convey his concern in his eyes, but I can’t look at him or I will spill all of my secrets. “My nightmares are back, I uh- I don’t exactly know how to deal with it, it’s not a big deal Carm I promise” I avoid eye contact and put my kitchen shoes on “You don’t have to hide from me you know, I’m not a stranger” he whispers with an undertone of hurt. “I know Carm I’m just- sad and confused and mad I- I don’t understand it” my eyes are glued to my feet “I know what you mean, I get them too, if you’d ever like to talk” he puts his hand on my shoulder and my eyes snap up to his. “Uh yeah of course, thank you, same goes for you” I feel my face heat up the longer I stare at him. Our eyes stay connected. “YO FAK! THE HELL WAS THAT FOR MAN!?” Richie yelling made Carmy and I both jump away from each other clearing our throats “I’m uh going to go start uhm” “Yeah I’ll meet you out there” “Great”” “Yup”. I quickly shake off the butterflies that have formed, why do I feel this with Carmen? I shake my head and throw on my apron and getting to work. My mind wanders as my hands are busy at work “They are going after my fucking house Carmen!!” I hear Sugar yelling, why is she here and whose going after her house? My nosey ass slows down and tries to listen when I hear her yelling for me, great. I walk out to the back where Sugar and Carmen stand “yes, hello, hi, why are we yelling” I say trying to keep everyone as calm as possible “Do you happen to know where Mikey left the tax forms” Sugar says crossing her arms with an expectant stare on her face “I’m so sorry but why would I know that” I say with a confused look, my eyes shifting to Carmys, he looked just as lost. “BECAUSE! Mikey told you everything!” Sugar yells getting more frustrated “Ok, ok please breathe, yes he did tell me MOST things but this he did not, I’m sorry lovie” I sympathize with you, putting a hand on her arm as she sighs and nods “We’ll figure it out okay” Carmen says trying to help. “Why don’t we start by looking in the office yeah?” I suggest calmly as I guide Sugar inside, shooting Carmy a look that tells him to not upset her or I’ll kick his ass. After about 45 minutes of endlessly sorting through papers and Sugar yelling Fuck You at about every single piece of paper I lean my head back against the wall and close my eyes “Why the hell would he organize like this?” Sugar says annoyed that we still haven’t found anything of use “I don’t know. I’ll ask him when he’s not dead” Carmen replies so casually, my eyes snap open and I clear my throat “Ok I need a break” I say as I stand up and stretch before leaving the tiny, cramped office and joining Syd and Richie at the front.
I didn’t pay attention to what they were saying though I did catch Richie saying something about a bar closing. How could Carmen say something like that so casually, how could he act as if something super traumatizing hadn’t happened, how could he-. White blinding hot pain shoots through the left side of my body “SHIT GET DOWN!” I hear Richie yell yet his voice is muffled, I freeze. “Shit is everyone ok?!” Carmen yells out as I stand there in shock, I finally look down and just see blood “Carm-” my voice cuts out as the pain comes back full force and I start to collapse “OH FUCK!” I hear Carmen yell before everything goes black.
His images flash behind my eyes
He talks to me.
Laughs at me
I couldn’t even save myself
*My eyes flutter open to the blinding white light of a hospital room*
My vision is fuzzy as I look around, not able to focus on anything so I close my eyes again as I shift, wincing as my side hurts “Hey sweetheart” I hear Sugar softly say beside me. My eyes flick over to a semi blurry figure in the room “Hi” my voice is soft and gritty, my throat dry, Sugar gets a cup of water and hands it to me, I take it thankfully and down the whole cup.
“What the hell happened, where’s Carmen, is everyone ok?” I spit out all the questions running circles in my head “Hey, hey slow down okay, some rando shot at the place, we don’t know who it was but Richie is working on it. Everyone is completely fine, you were the only one who got hurt” she calmly states. “What about Carm?” my voice gets more concerned as she avoids eye contact with me “He’s uh, still at the restaurant, he was a mess one second freaking about your blood all over his hands and then the next…. he was back to work”. I squeeze my eyes shut, my blood boiling, of course Carmy would avoid that “I’m going to step out ang get some food and text everyone and let them know you're okay, need anything?” she says sympathetically “No. no I’m ok. Thank you” she nods and quickly leaves the room, leaving me with my thoughts.
I slowly sit up trying to find my phone, I spot it in a bag of my bloody clothes across the room. I slowly get up, wincing as I move, I drag my IV with me across the room to the bag. I quickly open the bag and grab my phone, grossed out at all the blood “Jesus Christ” I grab a tissue and wipe my phone down. “What are you doing up?!” I hear a panicked Sugar behind me “I needed my phone, I need to talk to Carm in person though I need him to see that I’m ok Sugar, help me get dressed in some clean clothes, no one will notice I’m gone” I rant out fast and panicked. “No. Absolutely not. We need you getting better and not worse do you understand me. You can call him” Sugar sounds very serious which is very off putting, so I pout “Fine. Can you step out while I call him, please” I ask as she helps me slowly back into the bed, she nods and steps out, wishing me luck.
I stare at Carmens contact name for a while before finally hitting the call button.
It rings.
Rings.
Rings.
Rings~
“Hello?” he sounds very apprehensive.
“You weren’t here.” I snap a bit.
“What?”
“You weren’t here when I woke up Carm. The one person I wanted to see.”
Silence
“Look I’m sorry okay I just, I couldn’t see you like that okay” he sounds stressed.
“What if something had happened Carm? What if I had needed you”?
“Don’t talk like that. Plus, you don’t need me.”
“I actually need you more than anyone else” I snap, tears burning in my eyes.
Silence
“I’ll be there soon.”
He hangs up.
I sit there staring at my phone, the fucker just hung up on me. Sugar comes back in and talks to me while I wait for Carmen. As soon as he arrives, she takes her leave wishing me luck.
He avoids my eyes as he stands next to my bed, I cross my arms and stare at him “Carmy, what’s wrong, talk to me” “It’s my fault” I barely catch it he says it so soft “Oh fuck off Carmen it’s not-” “I had a panic attack, that’s why I wasn’t here”. My mouth snaps shut as guilt starts to creep up on me “Carm-” “I can’t- I can’t lose you too. Not after-” his eyes stay locked on his feet, but he slowly starts to rub his hand on his chest. Fuck. “Hey I’m right here Carm. Look at me please” I reach my hand out and rub his arm, his eyes snap up to mine and I see the tears “Oh Carm” I move hand up to cup his cheek and rub my thumb across his cheek. He slowly brings his forehead down to mine “I’m not good. We’ve been over this. I’m bad for you. I’m not good at anything that’s not cooking, I’m especially not good at relationships” Carmen starts to rant “We were freshly 18 and 19 when we had that conversation Carm, we’re different people now” I whisper as I stare into your eyes. “You know how I feel Carm. I’ve never kept it a secret, even when we were kids” I laugh as he starts to smile “No you were definitely not subtle” I shake my head.
Silence followed as we basked in the others presence “Can I kiss you?” his question shocks me, I nod “Words sweetheart” “Yes Carmen, you can kiss me, I might pass out if you don’t-” he cuts me off by deeply kissing me, I lose myself in the kiss, tangling my fingers in the curls at the base of his neck. He pulls back slowly “We’ll work on your kissing” “Oh fuck off” he pulls me back into another kiss, I pull back “I’ll be back and better in no time, I guess this gives me some time to think about some new things for The Bear” he gently rubs my cheek as I talk “I’ll be here every step of the way ok” “Yeah you better be” we both laugh.
“Will you be my-” I quickly put my finger over his lips “Nuh uh. You better not be asking me to be your girlfriend in a hospital room” I shake my head with a dead serious face “Okay. Message received loud and clear” I laugh and shake my head before pulling him back into a kiss.
That night, cuddled up to Carmen, was the first night I had no nightmares in months.
Yeah. Everything's going to be ok.

Ruben Dias x Reader - The Houseguest (Part 2)
Tumblr media
Summary - A three part series where the reader and family goes on a chaotic holiday with Ruben as their guests.
Enjoy
Yeah, last night was most definitely a dream. You woke up the next day and Ruben was nowhere to be find and no one in your family had even heard of him.
"He's like 6 feet, braud shoulders."
"Sounds like you dreamt that shit."
"Anita." Your mother slapped your sisters hands.
"Ouch Mamãe. Whatchu do that for?"
"Don't make your sister feel bad for having wet dreams."
"It wasn't a wet dream." You groaned.
"Wet dream? Who's having wet dreams?" Tomas overheard your conversation upon entering the kitchen. He was shirtless and you would be impressed by the fact that he has been working out, if it wasn't for Ruben. Last night wasn't a dream, there was a six foot man making laps in the pool. He was as tall as a tree and had the most handsome eyes/abs.
"Y/N. She says Bernardo's friend woke her up last night swimming around the pool."
"Bernardo's friend?" Tomas frowned. "Wasn't he supposed to arrive later today?"
"Exactly. Bernardo is probaly picking him up as we speak. Stop watching wierd movies before bed Y/N. You'll have less wet dreams, trust me. "
"I give up." You sighed. "No one believes me anyway."
"There there, let's not argue about who is right or wrong." Your mom said. "Your father wants us to meet him at the yacht festival down by the marina."
"Don't tell me he's buying a boat?" You said.
"No, your father just likes to dream. We will be joining him for lunch."
It was the perfect day for it. The sun was out and a lot of people roamed the Portimão marina. You couldn't help feeling like a third wheel though. Your mother and father walked ahead, arm and arm, whilst your sister and Tomas went off to have their pictures taken in front of a giant yacht. What's so impressive about a boat the same size as a house?
"Psst... Y/N." Somone hissed.
"Huh?" You shifted your head but to no use.
"Overhere."
"Where?"
You were talking to a ghost. It almost sounded like the voice was coming from above you.
"Look up!"
You raised your head to see "Ruben?" hanging off the railings of one of the boats.
"Care to join me?" He smiled.
"You're real!" You wanted to exclaim. "What are you doing here, on this boat? Is it yours?"
You came around the large fleet. Ruben waited to assist you to hop on.
"My uncles actually." He said, stretching out a hand, helping you cross the bridge from the docks.
"Why is it here, parked on the docks? Is it appart of the festival?"
"No, actually it's kind of my way of helping your brother out."
"Help Bernardo? How?"
"Well..." Ruben's smile looked devious. "Turns out this mystery girl of his has expensive taste in men and...."
"Let's me guess." You interrupted. "Bernardo is pretending to be the owner of this boat."
"Oh, he's told you of his plan?"
"No, but I know my brother." You sighed.
"Good, then you know that..."
Emerging, voices interrupted.
"But Pãi, wouldn't you rather enjoy lunch in a nice restaurant than on a boat?"
"No."
"But Pãi."
It sounded like your dad and...
"Bernardo?"
"Y/N?"
"Ruben?"
"Mr Silva."
It was a bit of a mess, with your dad pushing past you to get to Ruben, greeting him like an old friend. And then there was Bernardo, looking a bit stressed to see you on the boat.
"What are you doing here?" He hissed.
"I'm..." You didn't get to finish your sentence until more voices emerged on the boat. This time it was your mother, Anita and Tomas.
"Where did you go Pãi?" Your mother said, breathless from climbing the stairs onto the top deck.
"I told you I spotted Bernie by the docks and look, it was him." Your dad said.
"What's going on and who's he?" Said Anita, pointing to Ruben.
The top deck of the boat was getting really crowded now, something that made your brother more and more anxious.
"Okay, everyone listen up!" He shouted. "I'm suppose to meet a friend for lunch in about five minutes, so can all of you please get off this boat, like now?"
"Friend? What friend?" Your family exchange confused looks.
"I thought you were having lunch with us?" You mother looked quite hurt by the betrayal.
"No, Mamãe. I told you and dad to meet me at the restaurant, after lunch."
"After lunch?" Your dad snorted. "I'm staying, I wanna have lunch on a boat."
"Then I'm staying too." Your mother said, locking arms with your father.
"Me too." Said Anita, which didn't give Tomas much of a choice.
"Alright, alright, alright!" Bernardo looked to want to pull out his hair. "You can all stay. But when my friend, who also happens to be the love of my life..."
"What!" Your family gasped in unison. Ruben however, turned his head for us not to see him chuckle.
Bernardo rolled his eyes. "When she gets here you all have to play along and say that this boat belongs to me and not Ruben's uncle."
"That's Ruben?" Your sister said, her eyes gazing him up and down. She then looked to you.
"Told you." You grimaced.
"Yes. That's Ruben. Ruben meet my family. My parents, two sisters and their boyfriend Tomas."
"Ex!" You hissed
"Right, right. My sisters boyfriend and my other sisters ex boyfriend. We're a fucked up family, I know. Either way. Five minutes guys. Mamãe, Anita, help me set the table. Y/N, help dad bring the food out and Ruben tell the captain to prepare to get this boat off shore."
It was bizarre, Bernardo bossing everyone around for the sake of sceaming some poor woman. But what didn't you do for your family?
Once his mystery woman arrived you were all off to an exclusive trip on Ruben's uncles luxurious yacht.
"I didn't know you had such a big family Bernie." Bernardo's woman said. Upon meeting her you took back the thought of her being poor in any kind of way, because this woman wore designer from top to bottom. Even her red toe nails were painted with Dior nailpolish. No wonder Bernardo felt the need to lie about his middle class upbringing.
"You okay? You look nauseous?"
The only good thing about this unscheduled boat trip is that you got to sit next to Ruben. He often leaned in to whisper funny comments about this whole situation. Somthing that made Anita but specially Tomas, throw irritating glances your way.
"I'm fine. It must be Bernardo and his lies that's got me feeling bubbly."
You thought that would make Ruben laugh, however he kept looking at you with a serious expression.
"Or you could be getting sea sick." He said. The way his eyes held yours made you blush.
"Pass the chicken, will you?"
Somone kicked your foot underneath the table. Anita. "Ouch." You wheezed. "Whachu do that for?"
"Pass me the salt, will you?"
She was too short to reach it and so you passed it to Tomas instead. For some reason he avoided your gaze, looking over your shoulder to where Ruben sat. Perhaps it was because his arm rested around your chair, making it  look like you two were a couple in front of Bernardo's woman She even made a comment about it.
"So cute. How long have you two been together?"
Perhaps Ruben had caught on the dirty looks thrown your way because he was more than happy to play along.
"Two years." He said, moving his arm to really rest around your shoulder. "I was planning on buying her a ring by the end of this month."
"What?" Your sister gasped.
"Honey?" Your mother said concerned, thinking you had been hiding things from her. Your dad however just found it very amusing. Apparently he knew Ruben and his family very well, something that felt really reassuring to you.
"Some more wine meu amor?" Bernardo said, afraid that his cover would be ruined if we all got to comfortable about things.
"No, wine. I wanna hear more about this not so unexpected proposal." His woman, which name was a Russian one that you couldn't quite pronounce, said. "I love weddings."
"Um...well." She really put you on the spot. Good thing Ruben was a better lier than you.
"We're crazy about each other. No point in beating around the bush. I want to merry her."
"But..." Anita cried, however, sudden movment underneath the table indicated that Bernado gave her leg a kick. To your amusement of course.
"A man that knows what he wants. I like it." The woman said.
"I know what I want." Bernardo said, raising his hand.
Once the conversation switched to dogs and golden beaches Ruben leaned in to whisper again. "You sure you're alright, you look really pale."
Maybe he was right. The air around you seemed to get a bit heated. And so both you ad Ruben excused yourself so that you could get to the leeward side of the ship, where the wind blew less. You leaned your body over the railing incase you'd throw up. Ruben however made sure to keep you steady I'm his arms, preventing you from falling over board.
"What's going on here?"
At one point Anita came looking for you. It wouldn't surprise you if she thought you and Ruben had snuck off to get a quicky in somewhere.
"I think she's sea sick." He said.
"Sea sick?" Your sister frowned but took over Ruben's position of holding you steady.
"I'll go talk to the captain, see if he can turn us back around." Ruben said, disappearing somewhere around the corner.
"You good?" Your sister said, patting your back.
"No." You said, spitting out the bad taste in your mouth.
"You know, if this is your plan to make Tomas jealous or something, it is not working."
"What?" You looked up from the railing and couldn't believe what you were hearing.
"Oh please, I see the way you try to flirt with Ruben in front of him. It's pathetic."
"I don't know what your talking about." You muttered.
"No? Either way he is so out of your leauge."
"Excuse me."
"Y/N?" Said Bernardo. If he, Ruben and the rest of your family hadn't come around deck, you might have thrown Anita to the sharks.
"You okay sis?" He said, finally dropping the rich kid act, to be the brother that you knew and loved.
"Do I look okay?" You sighed. The sea sickness was getting worser and worser with the wind that was picking up. Grey clouds roamed the skies, perhaps there was a storm coming?
"Ruben said that the captain wants us to dock at the next Island, stay there til the storm blows over."
"And when is that?" Anita said, folding her arms with the cold breeze.
"Could be later tonight. But Ruben guesses that it won't ware off until morning."
"Morning?" She frowned. "So we're staying overnight on this boat?"
"There is room for everybody." Ruben assured.
"Yay, a sleepover. I love sleep overs. " Bernardo's woman cheered. "Show me to our room baby."
Bernardo was more than happy to.
"But where are we sleeping?" Anita asked.
"What do you mean." Bernardo frowned. He spoke between clenched teeth. " Do I need to remind you about you position in this?" By position he meant his little lie. "Devide the rooms by couples. Pãi and Mamãe. You and Tomas and Y/N and Ruben."
"Y/N can't stay with Ruben." Anita frowned, behind her Tomas looked to want to utter the same thing.
Bernardo however was being torn by his womans eagerness to get to her room and his baggage of a family. "Of course she can, their about to be engaged." He winked and off he went with his girlfriend, leaving you in a very awkward position with your family.
"Mr Silva I...."
Your dad just shook his head when Ruben spoke, silencing him. "The walls are thin on this boat, rember that son."
"Yes, sir."
"Dad." You groaned. It couldn't get anymore disturbing.
"Pãi." Anita spoke up. "You can't seriously let her share rooms with this man. I mean she barely knows him."
"Nitty, your sister is sick, let her rest." He said, to everyone's surprise.
"Mamãe?" Anita turned to your mother, desperate for her to do something about this.
"Your father is right. Y/N needs to rest." She said.
"But...she's...and he's...
You felt a warm hand caress your back. It was Ruben, helping you up to get you inside. This day really took a turn for the worst, even for your family.

Maybe: Season 2 Prologue
Summary: You work at the TVA as an analyst. Every day is the same- boring case after boring case- but your entire life changes one day when a new variant shows up.
Catch up on season 1 of the series!
A/N: Hi everybody! I can’t believe it’s been two years and some change since season 1. The response I got for the Maybe series was so overwhelming that I decided to keep it up for season 2. Plus, I couldn’t just leave you all on that cliffhanger. This is a prologue, so it’s just a little taster. But don’t worry I’m heavy into chapter 1 of the new season, so that’ll be coming soon.
Tumblr media
You’ve seen this film before.
“I don’t want a throne. I just… I just want you to be okay.”
This is the part where you kiss him; passionately, roughly, only to throw him out of a time door.
But you don’t.
Instead, you took the sword gripped between your palms and thrusted it outwards - right into his heart. Loki let out something between a gasp and a groan, falling to his knees in pain. The giant sword protrudes out of chest. And without even a second of hesitation, you ripped it right back out of him. The metal was caked with the blood of a god. It ran down the sword and onto your hands.
Loki’s white shirt quickly soaked red, and blood leaked out of his mouth. He poorly gasped for breath, trying to say your name, to call out for you. Yet, you stood there, stoic, monstrous.
You watched as the blood left his body and, eventually, as the life left his eyes.
And then you woke up.
Your screams echoed off the walls of the citadel. You were sat in your chair - your throne now, you supposed.
“Just a dream,” you whispered to yourself. “It’s not real, it’s not real.”
“Perhaps it is,” a voice said.
Your head whipped to the side to see He Who Remains leaning against the windows, gazing out into Time. The world outside the Citadel was breathtaking. It was everything and nothing, all at once. The soft purple hues of space, met with the burning neon of the timeline.
“How long was I out for?” You asked.
“We’re at the end of time, dear,” he reminded you. “Your nap is not quantifiable.”
You nodded before pausing and processing what he originally said.
“What do you mean, ‘perhaps it is?’”
“Pardon?”
“My dream,” you pressed. “I said it wasn’t real, and you said ‘perhaps it is.’”
“Ah yes,” he mused, walking over from the expansive windows to your desk. You had decluttered it, throwing away all his broken TemPads and unread files. A clean slate. A new era.
“Dreams are simply windows into time. Everything you dream is another you, in another timeline,” he continued.
“But that wasn’t another timeline,” you questioned. “That just happened. Loki and Sylvie and I were here to kill you. But we just…”
“Couldn’t hack it? Betrayed one another?” He jabbed.
You glared daggers at the man before you. For the keeper of the multiverse, he sure was a pain in the ass.
“Every decision we make - if significant enough - has the potential to create a branch. Your dream may have been about a situation you just experienced, but I’m guessing it didn’t go quite the way you remember.” He Who Remains chuckled, as if educating a child.
You shifted your gaze to the floor, ashamed to even admit how your dream ended.
“I killed him,” you whispered, nails biting into the skin of your palm.
“Not exactly. Another you, in another timeline made the choice to kill him.”
“That doesn’t make it any better,” you retored weakly.
“It’s not supposed to,” he said bluntly.
You curled into yourself on the chair, hugging your knees and burying your head between them. Your mind screamed at the infinite possibilities, all the what-ifs. Maybe if you were stronger, better, you could’ve have found a different way out. A way where Loki didn’t have to hurt you, and you didn’t have to hurt him back.
“But that is why you’re here,” He Who Remains said, lowering himself to his knees. He gently placed his hands on your arms, and you peaked out from between your knees. “To get rid of those timelines, those anomalies where we let the worst parts of ourselves get the better of us. You’re here to keep the peace, to protect the Sacred Timeline.”
You harshly rubbed your leaking eyes.
Leaders can’t be weak. Don’t be weak.
“I’m old, tired. I’m not going to be here much longer,” he said softly. “Time will take me away and I will be grateful for it. The stability of time will be up to you.”
It will be up to you.
It’s all up to you.

Scrabble (w/bucky barnes)
Imagine: You and Bucky are enjoying a weekend off when you suggest playing a game Buck used to play back in the day. He's not as good as he remembers.
Contains: soft and healed Bucky because he deserves it ok I will personally seriously maim anyone who comes for my favorite soldier
Warnings: Implications of smutty activity, but no descriptors/details
Tumblr media
You had never been as content as you were right in that moment.
It was a late Sunday morning and you were in bed, boyfriend curled around you. Bucky was still asleep, scruff tickling your skin and cold toes pressed against your legs. His metal arm rested on your hip, the other thrown somewhere under the mountain of covers.
His metal fingers would flex every once in a while, making you smile as he dreamt. The nightmares had faded significantly, becoming less and less frequent the longer you two were together.
Bucky had a lot of normal dreams now; grocery shopping while naked, being at the dentist, fighting Godzilla-that last one came the night after you watched the old classic.
But he woke up from every one of those dreams with a smile on his face. To him, even the uncomfortable dreams were special. They were a sign of normality.
"I floss," Bucky mumbled, breaking you from your thoughts. You bit your lip, trying desperately not to laugh. But the thought of Bucky arguing with someone about whether or not he flossed was too funny. As you giggled, chest shaking, he began to stir.
He hummed, eyes slowly blinking open.
"Sorry," you spoke softly once you got your laughter under control. "I didn't mean to wake you up."
"Is everything okay?"
If you weren't already laying down you would have swooned. Bucky's voice was already pretty deep, but his morning voice? Phew.
"You were talking in your sleep again, it made me laugh."
He groaned, tightening his arm around you and pulling you closer to him. "Not again. What was it this time?"
"Flossing."
Bucky chuckled, laying his head on your chest. Your hand automatically moved to his head where you began running your fingers them through his hair.
“My dentist didn't believe I was flossing."
You snickered.
“I could tell, you sounded mad."
"I was. I told him I did it twice a day and he didn't believe me."
You hummed, the room going quiet again as you played with Bucky's hair.
"What should we do today?"
"Absolutely nothing."
"We should do something. It's so rare to have a day off."
"Exactly, so let's just relax."
"I guess I could go for some relaxation."
You continued to weave your fingers throughout his hair, thinking.
"Oh! We could play some board games today. Board games and cuddles and coffee sounds like a good Sunday."
Bucky lifted his head from your chest to give you a sweet kiss. "That sounds perfect."
You slid out of bed, even as Bucky groaned and made grabby hands at you. "I'm gonna put on some coffee and pick our first game!"
There was a chill in the air so you slid on your sweatpants and one of Bucky's hoodies. You happily skipped to the kitchen, turning on the coffee pot before moving to the closet that held all the board games.
Bucky shuffled out of the bedroom a few moments later, going straight for the coffee.
"Any game preferences?"
"Whatever you want, babe."
"How about Scrabble?"
"Sure."
You cheered, bringing the game over to the kitchen table where Bucky sat with his coffee and some toast.
"I haven't played this in forever, but it was my favorite growing up. Have you ever played?"
"Well not to brag, but I was a scrabble master back in the day," Bucky puffed out his chest.
“We’ll see about that."
You set up the game, then got yourself coffee and a bowl of cereal before settling at the table.
"Oldest always goes first, so go ahead old man."
Bucky glared but spun the board to face him.
"I'm going to crush you," he muttered.
"What was that?"
"Nothing!" He called in a sing song voice while he put down his first word; sweet.
As you were in charge of recording the points, you wrote down his before spinning the board towards you with a sly grin on your face.
“If that's the best you got, you're going down."
"We'll see about that doll."
"That's not a word!"
"Yes it is!"
"No it isn't! I've been playing this game way longer than you have and it has never been a word!"
"Last time you played was in the 1930's Buck! Words have evolved!"
Bucky frowned at the board where you had just placed the word Jeggings, branching off of his earlier word Jeans.
"Whatever, cheater. What are the points now?"
"124 to 56."
"See? I'm winning without cheating."
"124 points to me, 56 points to you."
"What?!"
"I'm winning,” you confirmed with a toothy grin.
Bucky crossed his arms, glaring down at the board.
“I can make a come back, just you wait."
"I'm waiting."
"Shut up."
"It's okay to give up, Buck."
"I never give up."
You rolled your eyes at your extremely dramatic boyfriend.
The game of Scrabble was nearing it's end. There were no more letters in the bag, and the two of you had only a few letters left. You had finished your turns, electing to take a deduction of 5 points for your remaining letters. But Bucky refused to call it quits and take a deduction of 15 points, claiming 'every point counts.'
"I don't think that J is going anywhere, babe."
It was true. The board was full of crowed words and there was no way he was going to be able to stick a J anywhere.
"Yes it is."
Rolling your eyes you stood up from the couch. "Alright well you work on that and I'm gonna make us lunch."
Yeah, it was lunch time already. That was how long this game had gone on. You bounced around the kitchen, putting together two sandwiches as Bucky continued to sit in front of the Scrabble board and stare in tense concentration.
Walking back into the living room you announced lunch was ready before setting down Bucky's sandwich and a soda. You sat down with your own food, digging in as your boyfriend remained utterly still.
"Buck, you tried your absolute best. But the board is totally full, there's no where for anything else to go."
Nothing.
You continued to eat and Bucky continued to sit and stare at the board. Eventually you finished your sandwich and drink, then Bucky's, before cleaning up the kitchen. Back in the living room the solider was still going strong. As this point you were convinced he was just doing this to get a rise out of you.
But two could play at that game, and you weren't afraid to play dirty.
Sighing dramatically, you stood behind the couch and behind where your boyfriend was sat in silence.
"Do you think the AC is broken? I feel like it's getting a bit hot."
Nothing.
"Maybe it's just me, but I swear it is hot in here."
Nothing.
Huffing, you slipped your sweatpants off and swung them over his head and across the living room.
Nothing.
Glaring at the back of his head now, you took your shirt off and threw that in the same direction as the pants.
Nothing.
Gritting your teeth, you then took off your undergarments and tossed them too.
NOTHING.
Throwing your hands up in the air you shouted, "Unbelievable!"
Stomping now, you moved around the couch and stopped directly in front of the coffee table and Bucky with his head down. You crossed your arms, jutted out your hip and tapped your foot.
"Buck?"
He refused to look up, and for a moment you really considered just strangling him.
In a last ditch effort you said, "Alright! You win, Buck. You win."
His head shot up, a triumphant smile on his face.
"Really? I-" His voice died off as he took in your current state.
"You-" he gulped, hands clenching and unclenching.
You grinned wickedly, enjoying his reaction. "I said you were the winner. Was I lying, sir?"
You uncrossed your arms, letting them fall to your sides.
And not a moment later Buck had you over his shoulder as he headed back towards the bedroom.
A perfect Sunday indeed.

Dazai Osamu x reader
💌 Reading into the palms of isekai bullshit:
Chapter 2  💌
Summary: You were no stranger to isekai bullshit. It’s not like you had a problem with it. The genre took over the anime scene for years now but you try to stay away from thinking about how you would handle the situation. The last time you thought about inserting yourself into your favorite show you wrote a 100k word xReader fic for your favorite characters and you didn’t want to spend all your time consumed by the brainrot again. Never again, you promised yourself that was the last time you’d let the devil on your shoulder win. You clicked on chapter 1 to start the adventure over again but when you opened your eyes and saw Dazai O-FUCKING-samu getting choked by Kunikida you honestly hoped it was a dream.
Notes: Another isekai so I can play around with BSD like dolls.

The next morning you woke up alone. Not surprising but it did make you laugh a little. You were still here. You were in fact isekai'ed and you technically slept with Dazai. You got dressed keeping an eye on the door just in case. The clothes provided for you consisted of a white button up, pants and boots similar to Atsushi’s but instead of suspenders and a tie you had a lightweight sweater vest to complete your look. You thought it was cute as you looked in the mirror on your way out the door.
You made it in time to watch Atsushi help Dazai out of the oil drum. A quick stride downstairs and you joined them for Atsushi’s little job chat. You didn’t say much on the way through town, it wasn’t about you right now and if Dazai didn't want to talk about last night you weren't going to bring it up either. Dazai spoke primarily about the job he would help get you both. Sometimes he would glance back at you just to make sure you were still listening. He even winked at you when he was talking about how good of a fit the two of you would be. The man had no right to be this attractive. As Dazai finished talking himself up Kunikida stormed in to set the record straight. Atsushi looked at you “I’m starting to have second thoughts about accepting his help. Maybe I should just look for a job on my own.”
“Eh, Dazai might seem like a moron but I’d trust him on this one. Think about it, you don’t exactly have the greatest credentials to get a job anyhow.” You shrugged, shoving your hands in your pockets. This would be interesting since there's not much you would be able to do. You guess you'd have to shoehorn yourself into the plot as much as possible.
“We have an emergency. A man has taken a hostage and threatened to blow up our office.”
Atsushi tried to protest but Dazai and Kunikida were not having it. You followed along without complaint of course as was your plan from the beginning. If you’re being honest you forgot half of what Junichiro’s speech was about until you heard it right now. Like who was he talking to if not you guys hiding behind the decorative shrubbery. The office workers and hostage had been there for a while. Why wait till right now to say those things. Atsushi was still trying to whimper his way out of helping and Dazai was trying to coax him otherwise. You only nodded along.
“Then there’s only one option.” Dazai said taking a stance with Kunikida following suit. The game of rock, paper, scissors was short and the face Atsushi was making was priceless. Kunikida stood up and approached the “mad bomber” as calmly as he could. “Hey, easy does it kid.”
“Stay away, I only want to see the president! Don’t you try anything funny or I’ll blow this place to bits.”
Kunikida put his hands up slowly and backed away “Okay.”
“I know who you are. You’re Kunikida. You want me to lower my guard so that you can use that annoying ability of yours to stop me. Well that sure ain't happening. Lay on that desk on your hands and knees, and keep both feet above your head- ” as he continued on, you shook with laughter, suppressing the sound at the strange but clearly not well thought order. You saw Dazai side eye you and you whispered “Sorry I know this is bad but the request he was making, how would Kunikida, just never mind. This means you can’t go out there either, Dazai.”
“It would only make him more angry. Oh my whatever shall we do now?”
You both looked at Atsushi “Absolutely not.”
“I haven’t even said anything yet.”
“I already know what you’re gonna ask.”
You sighed “Atsushi we are the only option.” Dazai nodded “You’re not a formal member and the bomber doesn’t know either of you at all.”
Before Dazai could move you were already rummaging through the boxes to grab newspapers. “Listen, you just need to distract him long enough for me to back you up. We got this alright?” you looked at Dazai for confirmation.
You took the words out of Dazai’s mouth but he just shrugged continuing the thought. “Yeah. How bout you put on an act. Make it depressing like you think you’re a real worthless human being. I know you can do it right?”
You handed Atsushi the newspapers but he still looked worried. Dazai dropped the smile whispering “Trust me, scuffles on this scale are child's play compared to what we normally deal with. You can handle this Atsushi.” He was quaking in his boots as he started his speech. Dazai looked at you and raised an eyebrow. You gave a pointed look at Junichiro “Since Atsushi looks around the same age as the guy it’s better for him to be the one to reason with him. Worst case scenario I’ll just run and throw myself on the bomb. I already don’t have many memories anyways” you don’t look at Dazai’s face you half expected him to make a double suicide offer but you guess you know too much for him to play that card. Atsushi got right in Junichiro’s face making the perfect opening for Kunikida. While everyone was distracted with relief you started to untie Naomi, ushering her to the other side of the room. By the time Dazai started messing with Kunikida you had already walked behind the desk ready to move the bomb to the far corner.
“Now you’ll pay. I swear anyone with supernatural powers is not totally right in the head.” Tanizaki declared pressing the detonator.
Once the bomb started ticking you were already holding it walking towards the corner of the room. You turned curling around the bomb “Thanks for last night, it was great we should do it again sometime!” You smiled at Atsushi as he grabbed the bomb from your arms and pushed you away. Dazai caught you as you stumbled back. The bomb didn’t go off of course and you all stood around Atsushi. Dazai helped you to your feet asking if you were okay and you nodded, fixing your disheveled clothes. It was mostly that your vest got skewed when you got pulled away from the fake bomb.
“Geez you know I figured the kid was stupid but I didn’t expect them both to be suicidal.” Kunikida groaned while Dazai chimed “It seems I’m rubbing off on them. Wouldn’t you agree, Tanizaki?” The redhead peered around Kunikida’s side hesitantly “Sorry, are you okay?”
"Heee?"
You laughed at Atsushi’s confusion as it shifts to clear irritation. “I’m guessing that was the entrance exam?” you turned towards Dazai for confirmation as the president walked in.
“You’re exactly right.” Fukuzawa then explained the rest of the sentiment with Dazai’s plan to get you both into the agency. You leaned on the desk behind you waiting for Atsushi to come to terms with his decision. He was arguing with how violent the job is for him but you pointed out “Way too violent? I don’t think you can say that when you pried me off a bomb to protect everyone.”
He still needed more convincing but you stopped paying attention. Sitting in the closest chair you relaxed into the piece of furniture. Wasn’t your best but wasn’t your worst. Eventually you all went to the cafe downstairs. You got a hot chocolate not really being a fan of coffee and not feeling like tea. You were already tired but it was still only afternoon. You guys still had the whole day ahead of you.
Junichiro was apologizing to you both but you told him not to sweat it. You made the claim that at some point you realized that he and Naomi were siblings. Naomi didn't even need to be prompted to start molesting her brother. As the siblings did their thing Kunikida came up to talk with you both about upholding the agency’s good name. Meanwhile Dazai was doing the exact opposite by flirting with the hostess. That’s when Atsushi asked what they did before working at the agency.
“Take a guess. It’s a game we play a lot here actually. Newcomer tries to guess his colleagues' former occupations. Think of it as part of training to be a private investigator.”
Atsushi looked at you before you added “I have an unfair advantage so I'll help if you get stumped.” You folded your hands behind your head giving him the lead. He hummed “I want to say Junichiro and Naomi were students?”
“Whoa you got it. Nice one.”
“How did you figure that one out?”
The siblings looked surprised but they really shouldn’t be. It was so obvious given their age and the fact that one of them was literally in a uniform. Why else would they only be part timers “Not half bad Atsushi. What about Mr. Kunikida?” The aforementioned blonde spat out his coffee. “Nobody cares about what I used to be alright!”
Atsushi tried to focus again “Hmm, an official? Did he have a government job?”
“Almost.” Dazai gave you a nod to fill him in. “Mr. Kunikida used to be a math teacher, if you'd believe it.”
“I could totally picture that actually.” Atsushi responded flatly. Kunikida was grumbling “It was another life. I don’t even want to think about it.”
“What about me then?” Dazai perked up in his chair.
“What did you do?”
“Yup my job.” Dazai smiled knowing he would have no way of guessing. Atsushi went on a rampage trying to guess it. You just sipped your coco waiting. Debating if it was a good idea to frazzle the brunette by letting him know but you wanted to see his face. Kunikida huffed, betting he didn't actually have an occupation before this.
“Not true, I would never lie about something like this. You've given up right?”
Junichiro’s phone went off, drawing everyone’s attention to the call. It was work, Higuchi to be exact. Dazai tried to wrap it up "Let’s save the guessing game-"
"But (Y/N) didn't get to guess." You laughed as Atsushi interjected immediately on your behalf. "I think I'll pass, it's no fun since I know what the answer is."
“Wait just like that! I thought you said you'd help me.” Atsushi frowned at you as everyone made their way up the stairs. "Yeah I said I'd help but I'm not going to hand you the answer. I'll give you a hint though, you don’t even know this occupation exists." You give him a soft smile sending a cheeky wink to Dazai. You could tell the brunette was a little tense unsure if you'd actually spill the beans. Trusting people was certainly a new endeavor for him. You gave him a reassuring pat on the shoulder as you passed him.
You didn't want to be gunned down by Higuchi or worse killed by Akutagawa so when Kunikida suggested you tag along you argued that if too many people went it'd draw unwanted attention. Besides that your "ability" would be useless so you might as well stick to your strengths and that was picking up the slack of a certain waste of bandages. While Dazai listened to the wire he placed on Higuchi, you filed a bunch of papers he'd been neglecting. Kunikida was impressed with how fast you picked up his system. It surprised you too but it was either office work or being gunned down. It wasn’t a difficult choice.
Taking a break you passed by Dazai humming his suicide song as Kunikida tried to take his headphones. You placed a hand on his shoulder "I'll handle this, don't worry about him." As the blonde turned to go back to his work Dazai looked up at you raising an eyebrow. "You should probably get going. Higuchi’s going to call Akutagawa any minute now and I doubt you want to carry three bodies back on your own." You crossed your arms casually leaning on the privacy divider.
"I didn't know your palm reading could see the future, what gave me away?"
You hummed stretching "I thought you flashed her palm to me on purpose? I also watched you slip something in her pocket but if that was unintentional it was sheer dumb luck." You shrugged your shoulders waiting for him to get up.
"Are you offering to give me a hand then?"
"I might be but only because I'm tired of filing your reports."

Pairing: Thomas Shelby x John Shelby x female/Reader
Summary: Y/N finds out that Thomas is warming another woman's bed and suddenly she finds herself in John's arms.
Warning: Fluff, panic attack, Angst, Divorce
Word Count: 1.4k
a/n: Requests are open!!!
Part One
Tumblr media
Light seeped mutedly through the window into the barely furnished bedroom of the house at the edge of the world. The smell of rotting wood and whiskey lingered in the air. Fine dust particles danced and birds chirped, singing a delicate serenade of love and adoration conquered the morning sky, painted in bright shades.
Sleepily, Y/N opened her eyes, fluttered open, turned and closed them again in hope of finding herself in a world of lovely dreams. Silence reigned, unknown, but Y/N enjoyed the unusual peace. Shocked, she awoke, realising the room was not the bedroom she woke up in every morning. Memories rushed back, clouding her mind. Y/N compressed her lips into a fine line, saw clearly and she didn't know whether to cry or laugh, whether to be lightened or joyful, how to feel. The dreadful memories flooded the room.
Slowly, fearing reality, Y/N braced herself and lowered her gaze. No ring adorned her finger. It is not a wicked dream, Y/N thought. Nobody rested by her side, but the crumpled blanket next to her let her know that once somebody was resting near to her. She exhaled deeply, tried to find out where she was, convinced she had fallen asleep during the ride. Her gaze travelled across the unfurnished room. The door was half-open. The wardrobe of dark wood faced the window obscured by curtains, preventing her from finding out where she was. Y/N attempted to remember the events, but all she could recall was the betrayal.
Footsteps echoed. Her fingers dug into the gauzy blanket and covered her body. Fear clouded her mind. A low prayer escaped her lips. Dressed in a pair of boxers, John entered the bedroom, did not close the door. Deep in thoughts, John turned and glanced at the woman sitting on his bed, guessing she must be asleep, but he was mistaken and the young man smiled as he saw Y/N was already awake.
            "Good morning," he whispered.
He felt unsure how to address Y/N, whether he should call the woman by her name or his love, but he knew he had to give her time, saw the pain raging in her eyes like a ruthless storm.
The memories of the previous evening returned and the painful wound gaped, but no crimson oozed. Weakly, Y/N smiled, unable to understand herself, feeling like a mere fool. She was happy to be close to John, yet her heart ached terribly, realising her worst fears had come true.
Pain struck her heart like hundreds of poisoned arrows, realised Thomas had never loved her, and John spotted the sadness in the eyes of the broken woman close to crying a river immediately.
Slowly, he approached the bed, knowing exactly what Y/N was thinking. The bed squeaked under his weight. He threw the blanket to the side and settled down right by her side, but he didn't place his hands on her body, didn't know if he was allowed to do it.
"I'm sorry, but Thomas doesn't fucking deserve you. You are way too good for him. He is a disgusting piece of garbage." John said calmly.
Y/N chuckled.
"If you wish, we can call him. I will stay by your side and hold your hand." John breathed.
The words left a horrible aftertaste in his mouth. Nervously, Y/N played with the hem of John's shirt covering her body and shook her head in response, couldn’t pronounce the words resting on the tip of her tongue. Y/N took a deep breath, tried to be strong, knew she had to say what was weighing her heart.
"No, I don't want to see him. I found out that my husband has been warming another woman's bed for several months. It hurts. I loved him, at least I think I did. I am glad I have found out the truth, but what are you going to do? I should be on my way, and you should apologise and hope he forgives you." Y/N interjected.
She should be happy and Y/N knew it, but the truth pained terribly, made it impossible to feel happiness or love and Y/N wondered again why she had accepted the proposal all those months ago, why she had listened to her parents.
John looked forlornly at the woman an arm's length away from him, wanting to brush away the tears sliding in torrents down her cheeks and did not seem to stop in the next few moments. Carefully, he placed his hands on hers cramped into the gossamer sheets. Gently, his fingers stroked the back of her hands, trying to loosen her firm grip, trying so carefully to loosen one finger at a time and he did not fail and as each finger was released, he clasped her hands.
Y/N felt like an idiot, a fool, like a doll, a mere replaceable object, never cherished. She didn't notice as more tears travelled down her features, didn't notice John sitting right in front of her, trying to heal her broken heart with words of love and soothing touches.
"Y/N." he breathed over and over again.
John pronounced her name like a prayer, like a sweet melody she wished to memories and never forget. She was lost in the ocean. Her boat was shattered, had no place to call her home. The ripples grew greater; the shore was out of sight, and the eye of the storm was drawing dangerously closer.
Y/N fixed her eyes on her saviour, realising she had been crying, not wanting to cry, needing to be strong, but she could no longer fight. John released her hands and Y/N longed for his closeness, but the pleading words didn't escape, couldn't say it out loud. Lips did not touch, Y/N looked up and threatened to lose herself in his eyes telling beautiful tales of walks under the setting sun shrouding the world in a reddish veil, of beaches, and romantic dinners.
John's hands rested on her body; felt she was threatening to collapse like a house of cards under the weight of the world. Carefully, he settled Y/N on his lap. Hearts clashed. Smiling, John brushed the strands of hair clinging to her cheeks behind her ear as her vision cleared. A lovely tale escaped his lips and the melody of heart carried the pain into oblivion.
"You don’t have to worry about me. I made the right choice. I would always choose you, my darling." John objected.
"What did Thomas mean by that?" gasped Y/N.
John knew what she was talking about. Y/N felt how his body stiffened under her touch, but she said nothing, embraced him, forbidding him to leave her side, to leave her alone in the dimness of the world.
"You have always loved me, but you feared my reaction. I loved Thomas yet I did not and when I told my parents that I gave my heart to some else, they told me Thomas is a better match for a woman like me, but I know now that I made a mistake.” Y/N breathed into his ear.
Through watery eyes, Y/N saw the puzzlement in his eyes, the shock, didn't believe her words but then realised there was no lie darkening her eyes, telling a lie, wasn't uttering words as sweet as nectar to befuddle his senses.
Walls crumbled.
"Thomas meant exactly what he implied. I never found the courage to tell you how much I love you, what you mean to me." John answered.
"Why didn't you tell me before?", "What should I have told you? I am John, not Thomas Shelby. I have money, but at the end of the day I am not him.", "You are better." Y/N whispered affectionately.
"Can I kiss you?" John asked hesitantly.
The question was needless. Tenderly he kissed her, placing his hands on her cheeks, delicately caressing her skin, and closed his eyes, hoping it was not a vivid fantasy, a fever dream he was about to awaken.

Take me with you Ch. 3
Tumblr media
Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin x f!reader
Take me with you masterlist
Top Gun Biker!au
Chapter summary: Can Jake get help?
Chapter trigger warnings: inaccurate form of amnesia.
Ch.3 "This scar will never fade"
"It's been a while, Jake," the neurologist said as he entered the small room Jake had been waiting in.
Jake nodded at the man, “Doctor Edwards.”
Doctor Edwards smiled at Jake and took a seat on the rolling stool as he set his laptop on the small counter in the room, “Not that it isn’t fantastic to see you, of course, but what's going on that you scheduled an appointment with me? I haven’t seen you in quite some time. Not since I cleared you.”
“Maybe I just missed you,” Jake says with his signature grin, humor always seems to make him feel better about awkward situations.
Doctor Edwards gives Jake a look which causes him to sigh.
“I’ve been having some stuff happen and I don’t know who else would be able to help with this but you told me to come back if anything with my brain was ever off so I figured you would be my best starting point for this,” Jake explains.
“Sure would love to help you Jake if you ever actually explained the problem you’re having,” Doctor Edwards jokes with a smirk.
It reminds Jake exactly why he made this appointment. Doctor Edwards always put him at ease and called him out on his bullshit which was very helpful for a guy who loved to bullshit. Also helps that he has an almost identical mustache to the one on his one dumb best friend’s face.
“I’ve been having dreams I guess but like not? It’s hard to explain,” Jake says looking at the ground.
Doctor Edwards rolls the stool over to Jake and sets a hand on his shoulder, “Remember Jake I’m here to help. Just try the best you can and we’ll go from there.”
Jakes takes a deep breath, “I keep getting woken up by people because I’m yelling and thrashing around on my bed. Sometimes I guess I’m just talking or making noises and just like shaking my head. I asked what I was saying to who woke me up and she said it was a lot of no’s and please’s and ‘stay with me’ and ‘don't go’. But the thing is I don’t remember anything from the dreams. Never. Not one thing. And I feel like it’s important. Like it's really important for me to remember.”
Doctor Edwards nods along while listening to Jake then rolls the stool back over to his laptop and starts clicking around on the screen and typing.
Jake chews on his bottom lip as he watches the doctor. Is there something else wrong with him?
“Hmmm,” Doctor Edwards says as he scrolls through what Jake assumes is his chart. “We had noticed some retrograde amnesia with your accident but maybe it went further than we thought. I remember us talking through some of it but you and I could never quite place when you remembered and when you didn’t.”
Jake nodded, “Well it’s kind of hard to remember what you can’t remember, doc.”
Doctor Edwards chuckles, “You’re not wrong, Jake. I’m wondering if your subconscious is trying to remember something. Did I ever send you to see a psychotherapist?”
Jake raises an eyebrow, “You sayin’ I’m crazy, doc?”
The doctor shakes his head, “No, I don’t think you’re crazy Jake. Well maybe a little but that has nothing to do with this.” He winks at Jake. “I was just wondering if that’s the route we go to try and see if we can figure out what’s going on with your dreams. Maybe they’re nothing. Maybe they’re memories trying to come out. Who knows? Either way it couldn’t hurt to try. If this doesn’t help then we can move onto the next step, whatever that may be but let’s try this first and see how it goes. I have a colleague that I’ve sent patients to before. When you check out I’ll have the nurse help you schedule an appointment with her. If she doesn’t have any experience with dreams then she would know better who else might be able to help you. Either way let’s meet back in a month or so and see how that’s going to see where we go from there. Sound good?”
Jake nods, “Sure, doc, sounds good.”

Alright since my power went out and I missed the rest of the episode, I finally watched it on Hulu. I didn't blog my reactions because 1, it wasn't live anymore so it wouldn't be "live blogging" and 2, my Hulu account doesn't give commercials so I was always immediately thrown into the next scene with no time to process what I was seeing. So I'm going straight into my "Echo's Essays".
That being said, holy fuck this episode was a rollercoaster. Uhh... 6.5/10. I'm going off of what's fresh in my mind so these might be in reverse order.
Buckle up, this is another long one.
Starting off, the fire in Bobby and Athena's place. Once again, I need to say to everyone that if they made it so Amir started the fire, we are going to have a problem and I'm tanking the last episodes rating from a 10 to a 2, and this episode from a 6.5 to a 4. No if's and's or but's about it.
I'm so glad Athena's okay, but fuck, Bobby's in the hospital. I've also chosen to ignore the promos because with how it looked, it makes it seem like he's on a breathing tube and his heart stops when for all we know, his heart could've stopped when he got there and he's fine for the rest of the episode, just resting.
Holy fuck, Bobby's dad tho? The way he was in Bobby's dream making them both drinks (so glad they didn't make Bobby relapse) and the way he brought out the gift Bobby made him as a kid but the twisted way he said "It's a book of all the people you've failed to save!" and how he was the first one? DUDE!!!! 😭 That was so messed up! I love the storytelling but it was still messed up 😭😭😭 But also amazing?? The thing that symbolized life and heroism being the thing that killed his father (also the alcohol), but the twisted version that symbolized death and failure (plus his dad) being the thing that saved Bobby (and Athena's) life.
Bravo 👏👏👏
Next we have Kim dressing up as Shannon and having the talk with Eddie. That was... Something. When she first showed up, I thought Eddie was dreaming. I mean, he was sleeping on the couch (not saying anything about that), and "woke up" to her knocking on the door. Plus her looking like Shannon, I thought, "Oh, this is a dream." AND THEN IT WASNT???
While I appreciate the fact that Eddie had the opportunity to "say what he wanted to say" to "Shannon", I was also uncomfortable? Eddie's known Kim for how long?? And she finally finds out she looks and sounds like Eddie's dead wife, (btw, I'm glad they didn't drag that plot point on for too long. Buck had a talk with Eddie about it and next scene we get with him he's showing Kim pics of Shannon. I was pleasantly surprised) and that that's why they're seeing each other, and she decides to dress up like Shannon, EVEN GOT A DIFFERENT HAIR STYLE, and talk to him???????
That's... Weird! LIKE REALLY FUCKING WEIRD DUDE!!!
You're seeing this man who seems interested in you, you aren't officially boy/girlfriends but you're going on dates and spending time together, you then find out the whole reason he was interested in you is because you look like his dead wife who he has unresolved issues with and he's clearly not okay about it, and you decide to change your hair so it looks like hers, wear clothes AND JEWELRY that looks similar to hers, and then talk to him pretending to be his dead wife and gaslighting him when he tells you to stop????
What the actual fuck????
Like, I guess I get it? You want to give him the closure he never got with Shannon, but that's not up to you??? That's between him and his therapist!
That whole thing would've been better if it really was just a dream. Literally keep the scene exactly the same, you can even have "Shannon" saying the exact same things, maybe add a couple sentences here or there to prove it's really Shannon, but it's a dream that Eddie's having while he's sleeping.
Ryan Guzman's acting was incredible in this scene, but it was unfortunately undercut by the undefined amount of ICK that washed over me when I realized he wasn't dreaming and Kim was doing dead wife cosplay. The ick isn't even justified! I would've still felt icky if that's what the show did to get rid of Marisol (get fucked) but at least something else good would've come of it. INSTEAD!!! They decided to make the ick even more prominent by having Christopher there too!
WHAT THE FUCK GUYS????
The only way they could've salvaged that was either make the conversation a dream, or have Marisol walk in alone, that way the good would've outweighed the bad. But what they did was have the worse thing happen in both scenarios!!! WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU BRING CHRISTOPHER INTO THAT??? And before you say "Oh Marisol didn't know that was happening when she was bringing him home"- Shut the fuck up, I'm talking to the writers.
WRITERS!!! WHY THE ACTUAL
FUCK
DID YOU MAKE CHRISTOPHER COME HOME TO THAT?!?!?
After going through losing his mom, surviving a freaking tsunami, all the therapy he went through, being mad at his mom for leaving, and finding comfort in the letter she left him, WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU DO THAT TO HIM???
I started off feeling uncomfortable but now I'm pissed off.
EVEN GIVING HIM THE LINE "Mom?" SO THE AUDIENCE MAKES SURE TO ACKNOWLEDGE HES THERE IS SO MESSED UP!!!
What do you expect is going to happen next? Eddie tries to explain to his son why he was in their house holding onto a woman who looks and sounds exactly like his dead mother??? How can you explain that???? He's a kid! Yeah he's gotten older and is more mature BUT HE'S STILL A KID!!! NO KID SHOULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH THAT!!! FUCK, NO ONE, REGARDLESS OF AGE, SHOULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH THAT!!!!
That was... Horrible? Disgusting? Unnecessary? Yes to all, and I'm moving on before this part gets any longer.
Speaking of kids, fuck that councilwoman for interfering with Mara getting officially adopted! Yeah, your son died because Hen didn't treat him, but say it with me everyone:
HE REFUSED CARE!!!!
You can be mad at Hen all you want for being active captain when that happened, but destroy her work life not her personal life! Mara is a troubled child who needs a home and the woman saw how happy she was with Hen, Karen, and Denny. If you wanna be pissed at Hen, BE PISSED AT HEN!!! Don't bring children into it!
And don't say "the guy who died was her child". The guy who died was a grown ass man, I'm talking about literal children. No matter how much he acted like a child, he was still a grown adult capable of drinking and driving. How do you logic that you're gonna hurt a woman you hold in mind responsible for the death of your grown ass son, and look at a little girl who's got nothing to do with anything except being excited about being adopted and think "I'm gonna rob this small child of a loving home and family and ruin her life! That'll show that woman that I really mean business!"
LEAVE THE KIDS OUT OF IT!!!!!!!
.
.
.
*sigh*
Anyway, moving on.
Um... I appreciate Athena reaching out to someone to help Bobby, but I don't think that should've been Amir. Athena saying Bobby's on a tightrope and falling in one direction because of Amir, shouldn't you have gotten someone to tip him in the other direction? The person who caused him to tip in the first place whether intentionally or not shouldn't have been anywhere near him. The episode even accents this by having Amir go to their house, see all of their happy pictures (which was hard to watch by the way), and say he has to leave. Since he's now said to both Bobby and Athena to stay away from him/out of his life, if the writers try to make them go after him again to apologize, don't. Just send him a letter with the word "Sorry." written on it. Leave that man alone please.
...Do I have anything else to say? I think that just about covers everything important, at least that I can think of off the top of my head. Strong mixed emotions with this one guys... I'm worried about the next episode.
See you next week ✌️

Kensei Muguruma (Bleach) - Oneshot
Tumblr media
You’ve gotten yourself in a lot of bad situations, but this by far seems like the worst.
“Shit..”
You coughed, spitting out some blood as you leaned against the wall of the building. You’ve never been good at just walking away. When you saw a group of men cornering a woman, of course you felt like you had to intervene. You beat the shit out of them too. But not without some damage. They were men after all. Six against one isn’t exactly a fair fight. It’s guaranteed they wouldn’t be messing with you again.
The abandoned warehouse felt like a good place to recuperate. In your state you wouldn’t be able to make it back home, much less a hospital. You just need a moment to catch your breath. Possibly reset your shoulder. The pain was starting to make your vision a bit patchy.
“How did you get in here and who the hell are you!?”
The female voice catches you by surprise. Lifting your head, you’re stunned to see a group of people casually chilling around the space. There’s a couch and a few other pieces of furniture.
“W-What the…”
There’s a taller blond male, short hair, brown eyes. He was standing on the railing on the upper floor.
“Hachi has a field around this place, so either he’s losing his touch, or you’re not what you appear to be.”
When he jumps down from his spot, landing right in front of you, you’re almost positive that you’re hallucinating.
That should not have been humanly possible.
“We’ll ask again, who are you?”
He takes one step and you feel panic set in.
“S-Stay back!!”
You backtrack to make a run for it, but your path is blocked by another man. Grey hair and piercings.
“You’re injured.”
Swallowing, you glance to the side. There’s at least six of them. You’re greatly outnumbered and hurt. From what that blond just did, you can only imagine what the rest of them are capable of.
“How do I get out of this?”
It’s taken you a moment to realize that at least three of them are sporting blades.
This is bad.
“Shinji, she's a weakling, let’s just kick her out.”
You frown at the younger girl’s statement.
“Who the hell are you calling a weakling, snaggletooth!!”
“WHO ARE YOU CALLING SNAGGLETOOTH YOU STUPID HUMAN!” She charges, but is grabbed by Shinji.
“Calm down Hiyori, like Kensei said, she’s hurt. She might just be like Orihime and the others. We should help her.”
“Let me go!!”
She’s fighting against Shinji. The man with the pink hair approached cautiously. As if not to startle you.
“I know this might seem strange, but we’d like to help you. You’re hurt.”
His words seem sincere, but you’re still terrified. One, you’re already weakened from your fight, two, it’s definitely suspicious that all these people are living in this run down place. You have no reason to trust them.
You try to open your mouth to say something, but a flash of pain hits you and your body caves. This time you cough up a mouthful of blood and they flinch. Kensei is at your side in seconds and you stumble into his chest. He lifts you off the ground.
“Hachi!”
Hachi nods and you can feel your consciousness fading.
“Damn it, you better not die.”
Somehow the words are a bit comforting.
It’s weird.
When you woke up the following day in a hospital, practically untouched you were convinced that you dreamed it up.
Those people, that strength. It felt unreal.
That’s why when you saw that gray hair and those silver piercings at a store on your way back from work, you were a bit frozen. You’d just stepped out, and you knew that he saw you. That frown was fixed on his face.
“Guess you didn’t die after all.”
You weren’t sure what words to say. Because the people at the hospital said you were fine. But you were positive that you’d broken a few ribs that day. Possibly damaged an organ. If the mouthful of blood you spat out was anything to go off.
But here you stand, unharmed.
They must have done something.
Helped you.
Saved you.
Swallowing your fear, you clenched your bag, bowing fully, right there.
“A-Arigatou!!”
You weren’t sure what happened, but above all else, you were grateful. They quite literally could have dumped you out in the street. When you felt the hand on the back of your head, you raised slowly.
“Be careful in the future.”
Despite his stoic expression, he looked genuinely concerned for your wellbeing. You couldn’t do much but give a short nod.
You really do hope you see more of him and his crazy friends.
As luck would have it, your wish came true, turns out you all pretty much shopped in the same district.
“It’s you again.”
Hachi was the second one you ran into. You couldn’t help but smile.
“Hai! O-Ohaiyo.”
He offered a smile, and the both of you had casually fallen into conversation.
“I’m happy to see you recovered. After I healed you I wasn’t sure if I had been too late.”
You pause.
“You..healed me?”
“Yes, although it may be a bit difficult to explain. “ He suddenly looked a bit bashful and you couldn’t help it, you were curious.
“Please, tell me.”
He took in your inquisitive gaze, nodding.
So he told you about his power. It seemed impossible, but when he summoned a kido to demonstrate, of course you became a believer.
After that you just kept hoping to see them again. It felt a bit strange to just walk over to that wearhouse again. That’s why when you ran into Kensei on your way back from the gym, you didn’t want to waste the opportunity.
“Please give me your number!”
He looked a bit startled at the declaration.
“I want to see you more often, so please!”
You looked like a puppy and his eyebrow twitched.
“Whatever, just stop giving me that look!”
You grinned, exchanging contact information.
Since that day, your meetings have become more frequent. You used any free opportunity to learn more. To see him. To understand his world. Because you hoped it would explain yours a bit better. Especially after what you'd witnessed a few days ago.
“You’re quiet today.”
His statement broke your focus, and you looked over as he walked you back home. He wasn’t wrong. You were just thinking. You weren’t sure if to ask.
“Kensei, have you ever seen monsters with masks before..”
It was somewhat of a whisper and he stopped, grabbing you by the shoulders in a panic.
“Shit, were you attacked by a hollow! Why didn’t you say something earlier!”
Your eyes were wide.
“A hollow..”
He sighed, and you lowered your head.
“So I’m not crazy, you’ve seen them too.”
Weirdly enough you were still scared, but relieved that you weren’t the only one. You took a step forward, burying your face into his chest. He lifted his hands, a bit stunned. You gripped at his vest.
“I’m scared Kensei..”
He knows you well enough to understand that it’s taken a lot for you to admit that. His hands lowered slowly, and he couldn’t stop himself from wrapping them around your body.
“You ain’t got anything to worry about, I’ll protect you.”
At that moment, that’s all you needed to hear.
You hold on tighter.
It’s not weird that you became somewhat attached to him. He was strong, dependable. The attack on Karakura was eye opening. You also learned that apparently that there was a lot more out there than masked monsters.
“So you were a soul reaper?”
He could see the confusion at the term, and Kensei nodded.
“Yeah.”
Before you had the bits and pieces, but now you knew the full story. The town was safe. Everything felt like it would be okay.
“They’re gonna give you your old position back.”
“Apparently. I guess they really need the help considering all that’s happened. It’s gonna be a hassle.”
Even though he said that, you could tell that he was pleased. It’s taken a while for you to read all of Kensei’s expressions. Walking along the river, you gaze at the water.
“Guess I won’t be seeing much of you anymore then.”
The thought was a bit upsetting. When you feel the hand on your head, you look up.
“Gonna miss me huh?”
You pout.
“L-Like if!!”
You were huffing childishly and his hand moved to your cheek. Your angry little motions stopped almost immediately.
Nothing was said, just that look.
Somehow you understood what it meant.
This wouldn’t be the last time you both saw each other.
Fortunately, that was the truth.
You’d made constant trips to the soul society. It took some convincing on Kisuke’s part. But you’d gotten good at bribing the shop owner. All in all, you were happy. Kensei was back where he belonged and you could see him wherever you wanted.
“Oii! Why are you daydreaming?”
You smile, taking a sip of your tea.
“You still have a terrible temper Kensei.”
He clicks his tongue and you laugh.
“I still can’t believe you’re a captain. I guess they will appoint anyone to that position huh.”
An irk mark pops on his head at the casual insult.
“Be quiet.”
Hisagi watches the back and forth banter.
It’s not that strange for the both of you to bicker whenever you come to visit. It’s a bit comforting to say the least.
“I’ll head over to the fourth squad to prepare for our mission taicho.”
Kensei nods and Hisagi takes off. You go right back to drinking your tea.
“It’s weird how it all turned out, isn’t it Kensei.”
He turns in your direction.
“You mean after we found you beaten to a pulp.”
“That wasn’t exactly my fault.”
“What kind of idiot picks a fight with six people.”
“They were messing with someone.”
“You’re human, you should know your limits.”
You just roll your eyes.
“You’re always lecturing me like a nagging older brother.”
You expect another jab from him, but he’s gone silent.
“Hmm, usually you fight back, did I win this time?”
You smirk, but his expression has changed. He stands from his spot at the desk, moving over to you. You’re still seated, so you look up, clearly puzzled. He’s just towering over you now.
“Is that how you see me?”
Those words aren’t what you expect. You place the cup down.
“Eh? What are you talking about?”
“I’m not your brother.”
Your brows furrow.
“Of course not, why are you saying strange things?”
He’s still somewhat glaring, and now you’re confused.
“Kense-”
“I’m attracted to you.”
For a full minute nothing is said. You try to play over all those words in your head.
“Attracted….attracted…he’s attracted..to me..”
The realization of the statement finally processes and your face becomes every possible shade of red. You shoot out of your seat, backing away.
“W-What the hell!! W-Where did that come from!!!”
His hard stare is fixed on you. When he approached, you panic. His hands press to the wall at the sides of you and you gulp.
“You shouldn’t take me so lightly. I’m a man after all.”
“S-Stop saying weird things!!”
You bolt out the door as fast as you can, and Kensei just stands there, watching the trail of dust.
He smirks.
“Guess she’s not as airheaded as I thought.”
You would be back.

Hello and happy new year, i hope you’re doing good and that you had a good NYE.
Here are just some highlights from what you’ve missed in the latest episodes of ‘My brother is an idiot’.
In case you wondered how we spent NYE, let me tell you that originally we were gonna go to a bar with our neighbor and socialize but she got sick, so my brother changed plans and made her watch 3x08. That’s right, he calculated when to watch the episode so that Britin reunion happened exactly at midnight. We entered 2024 with Lover’s spit, ngl it was both amazing and impressive. And the clock went midnight right as the song started/their iconic reunion happened and we all yelled ‘AYYYEEEE HAPPY NEW YEAAAAR’ He also showed her 3x14 and not to anyone’s surprise, the ending still makes him cry.
Also a very important update: THE CAST IS OFF!! He walked out of the office and literally put a fist into the air like a dumbass and then looked at THE ENTIRE WAITING ROOM, pointed to his fist and went ‘I’m back, baby!!’ And then to me ‘I almost put that Proud song on to play it so I could walk out all dramatic and put my fist in the air like in that movie.. But I’m too fucking traumatized by that song cause of the finale so just imagine it for the experience okay?’
Btw our dad is coming in on Wednesday so that he can spend some time with us and then go home with my brother. So naturally my brother has spent the last day and a half going through episodes to decide which ones to show him. I fear my dad might strangle him when he realizes he’s being tricked into watching qaf. But i am curious what his reaction is going to be and which episodes he picks.
And the most important thing that I actually thought will be avoided: about 2 days ago, I left him at 10.30 pm to go to sleep. He was reading fan fiction and at the same time watching fan videos of Gale and Randy which…okay, go off. Please try and guess what the fuck happened next because i can guarantee you, you’re gonna be wrong.
He came into my room and woke me up out of nowhere and i asked what’s up, thinking it’s some emergency. And i can see on my clock that it’s like 4.45 am and he’s crouching next to me, holding the laptop, turns it towards me to show me some random site while almost blinding me and then whisper yells at me ‘this Hal dude is or was a fucking prick! What the fuck did Gale and Randy ever do to him? And why the fuck did those two old dudes hate Randy?!’ And then he just got up and walked out (leaving the door open because of course) and just says to himself or me ‘they did nothing and he’s acting shadier than a fucking palm tree!’ I woke up the next day, genuinely sure that I dreamt that and I come to the living room and he’s in the same position as I left him in and he goes ‘oh this dude is lowkey annoying, i just read this post from a convention and he doesn’t know how to let other people talk, why did he answer a question about gays and his gay friends when Randy was asked as a gay man? And I didnt know those writers sucked so much, they looked like they got along at that gay panel but apparently they hated each other? By the way do they still do these conventions?’ All this was said to me in one long ass breath, right as i woke up. Felt like a fever dream ngl. He was practically bouncing off the walls because of how much coffee he drank because he stayed up all night reading up on Gale and Randy and anything qaf related he found. He even found old Gale interviews from The Advocate and later found out Gale was also in a motorcycle crash and he texted that to our mom saying that clearly that means they’re soulmates of some kind and she just replied ‘or that you’re both stupid <3’
He said that after he finished his fics, he started watching videos and then he went to check bts videos and interviews and he looked all that up and got war flashbacks because they just asked whatever they wanted in the old 00’s tabloid era. And that somehow lead to him finding a link to a fan forum or something and then he just spiraled. He said that when he saw Hal being shady, it was either wake me up and tell me OR wake up our parents..
oh and during this all nighter he also put together a playlist that he named ‘Bri Bri in a nut (ha) shell’ and it’s songs from the show that he thinks fit Brian best. So now he goes back and forth between the playlists depending on his mood and how much he misses Brian. I created a monster and you all helped me. Thank you very much
Dear sweet anon!
I am so sorry for the delay in responding. I haven't been on tumblr because the new stuff at my job is cutting into ALL MY PRECIOUS SCROLLING TIME.
(And fic writing, so sorry everyone!)
NGL I am high key impressed that he figured out how to time the episode so that Lover's Spit was playing when the clock struck midnight. That is some dedication. What time does one need to start the episode for that to happen?
Congratulation to your brother on getting the cast off! I'm so glad he can return to making the ally fist.
But oh nooooo, he has fallen down the rabbit hole of the bts and what has been shared and pieced together and what can be observed. But couldn't he have sent you a voice memo rather than waking you up?
I'm curious if he has any fic recommendations for the fandom? And, also, what is in his Bri Bri playlist?
I like your mom's response to your brother's belief that both him and Gale being in motorcycle accidents makes them soulmates. Maybe they could be soulmates for another reason. Your brother could kiss Randy, for instance.
I hope your 2024 is lovely so far! I can't wait to hear your dad's reaction to being ambushed with QAF.

[OOC POST YEAH . THIS IS A NON CANON STORY !!! IT WAS AN ART TRADE FROM ME TO GENERATIONLOSING ADMIN :D THAT BEING SAID! ENJOY!]
Tw: panic attack, spiraling
Ranboo woke up in a cold sweat. Their blanket had been thrown onto the floor, and their stuffed animal Niki got them fell down as well.
Ranboo had a nightmare. Right? He must've, his heart beating so quickly and the sweat drenching his back and the adrenaline in his veins.
What was the nightmare about? They couldn't remember. Shouldn't that be a good thing? But if they can't remember this, what else were they forgetting?
Okay, okay -- it's fine. Just, go over what he knows! His name is Ranboo. He worked with-- no, he escaped from Showfall Media. He got out with Charlie, and Sneeg. He found Niki, who is living with him. Niki, who's alive.
Alive? Why wouldn't she be alive?
Shot, shot, shot-- how was Niki alive? She got shot point blank, directly into her chest. They watched her bleed out and die. They watched Niki get shot by the Puzzler.
The Puzzler. He's still alive, right? But there were charred marks in the chair he was at, and in the mall there was a shine put up for him.
Ranboo grabbed his hair, curling up into himself. He didn't know what was real, spiraling as he went further and further down. His body shook without his will, breathing getting quicker and quicker.
Where was he? How does he know if any of this is real?
Is he back? Did Hetch finally find him and Charlie and Sneeg? What about Niki? Is she okay? She was shot, she wouldn't be able to use all of her strength to defend herself.
Static filled Ranboo's ears along with a high pitched ringing. Something warm ran down his fingers from where they grabbed his hair.
His vision felt blurry. He didn't know what was happening. He couldn't feel anything besides warm warm blood run down his hands and the wires inside of his mouth and in his skin and they were in his neck and Hetch is controlling him and---
Ranboo passes out.
Ranboo wakes back up. His back and neck are stiffer than they regularly are, and he yawns as he opens his eyes. Ah. That explains the back pain, he was in the living room. How did he get here?
They see that the kitchen light is on, and they can faintly hear talking but they're unable to make out the words. Slowly sitting up from their torn up couch, Ranboo carefully makes their way down to the kitchen.
"Oh, Ranboo!" Charlie's voice was unexpected, but Ranboo took that familiarity. "Go uh, go sit back down. I'll get you some water, man."
"What happened?" Ranboo yawned. He took a seat at the kitchen table and leaned against it. "What time is it?"
"It is, um, around four a.m. right now," Niki said with a small smile. "I don't really know what happened? You just started to scream, and you kept hurting yourself. And then you just passed out, and I called Charlie."
"I tried calling Sneeg, too, but he didn’t pick up his phone.” Charlie smiled softly. “But are you okay?”
Was he? He felt okay. Well, his head hurt and the ends of his fingers hurt. The back of his neck was stinging a bit, but that was normal, wasn’t it?
Ranboo stayed silent, staring at their hands. After a few seconds, Niki spoke up. “Charlie, you still have that uh, that… advil?”
“Oh, yeah!” Charlie perked up and instantly started ruffling through his pockets. He handed Ranboo one of the pills of medication, silently gesturing to a glass of water that got set down on the table. Ranboo quickly downs the medication along with the water.
“I’m… okay, I think. A few things hurt, a bit, but, like… y’know,” Ranboo rambled off, rubbing his neck and wincing when his hand brushed over the Showfall Media branding on his body. “Was just a bad dream, I guess. Sorry for waking you guys up over it…”
“It’s fine, Ranboo! We care about you, we’re not just people who will stand around and watch when you’re obviously going through something.”
“Exactly what Niki said. And I don’t mind a sleepover sometimes, even if it’s spontaneous,” Charlie laughed quietly. “C’mon, let's get back into your living room. We’ll get stuff set up.”
Eventually the three of them moved into the living room, sitting on various blankets and pillows and cushions. Ranboo sat down, with Niki on their left and Charlie on their right. Surrounded by people who care about them. The only person missing was Sneeg.
Warmth surrounded them, as a tear falls from Ranboo’s eyes. “I just really love you guys,” they whispered, “and I’m glad we were able to get out of that hell.”
Ranboo’s eyes shut, and he dreams of burning Showfall Media to the ground with Niki on his left, Charlie on his right, and Sneeg in front of him. All of them together. Safe.

The Galaxies of Gallifrey
Chapter 2: This is Ace
Word Count: 1,8 k
Warning: SPOILERS FOR THE GIGGLE
Tumblr media
2023: Guarujá, Brazil
"Not bad, huh?" The Doctor stepped out of the TARDIS and then held his wife's hand as she followed. "Seems like a nice place. Perfect for our very very very belated honeymoon. Do you like it?"
"I love it, Doc," Gallifrey wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him lovingly. "I can't believe we are finally getting some peace and quiet... it's like a dream."
"We just gotta keep the TARDIS nearby to translate for us, Portuguese is not one of the languages I speak."
"But I do," she nudged his arm. "My father was Brazilian. I've been here before, that's why I suggested it."
"You have? What other secrets have you been keeping from me?" The Doctor stared at her in disbelief.
"Guess you'll have to find out... if I remember correctly, there was a pizza place with the best pizza in the world, we can order that later. And I need to find the Cafe I used to go to, they have the most divine cake, just a ferry ride away. Oh, look! The bakery and the newsstand are still here, it's been ages!"
"Alright then, for once you're the one leading the expedition," he chuckled as he looked around, taking in the scenery and the delicious smell of the sea.
"How about we have a walk on the beach then? I miss it so much."
"Sounds good, but we need to be careful. I don't want sand in the TARDIS."
"We don't need to go back to the TARDIS so fast... My grandma has a flat right there, we can stay for as long as we want."
"Gal! What else don't I know about my wife? A whole flat? We'll need to bring Mel, Donna, and the family sometime."
The couple held hands and made their way to the seashore. For the first time in their lives, they felt normal, a normal couple enjoying their time together without worries.
"Are you going mad already? Regretting your decision?" Gallifrey asked before picking up a shell off the sand hoping to find a hermit crab inside.
"Not one bit, this is our new adventure. Living one day after the other, having our family, finding jobs, buying a house, having your mother over for dinner, visiting Donna... I never thought that's what I wanted, but I've been fighting all those battles and now I know what for. I've never been so happy in my life," the Doctor smiled, genuinely satisfied with the feeling that he was exactly where he was meant to be.
"Speaking of my mother, we should probably call her soon, she's been worried. I can't imagine her as some fearless, rebel adventurer."
"Your mother was insane, she wasn't scared of anything! Well, almost anything. I often had to tell her to back down, or she would've exploded the universe already."
"That doesn't sound like her at all! I need to see this side of her... I admit I'll miss adventuring, we had some awful times but some really good times as well. We can never forget it, never let these memories die."
"Don't worry about that, I have an exceptional memory, I remember every second with you," he wrapped his arm around her.
"Every second?"
"Every second."

Late 2006: London
Gallifrey Gale McShane woke up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, her Charitable Earth shirt was soaked and she cried. She sobbed uncontrollably, enough for her head to hurt.
"Mama!"
"Gallifrey!" Dorothy barged into the room and took her daughter in her arms. "Gallifrey, what's wrong? Are you hurt?"
"It hurts, Mum! It hurts my heart! My chest feels like it's on fire."
"Did you have a nightmare, sweetie?"
"Not really..." she took a deep breath and coughed before being able to talk. "There was a beach in Norway, the Bad Wolf Bay, there was a blonde girl, she was crying. There was the man in a suit, he disappeared. I don't know what I was looking at, but I know it hurt. It was forever."
"Forever? What was forever?"
"Their goodbye."
"Aw, Galli... it was just a dream. You're always dreaming of the man in the suit, he can't hurt you."
"I don't think the man will hurt me, Mama, he wouldn't. But I can't reach him, he's in my dreams and I can't reach him. I feel like I'm meant to be there, I'm not meant to be here!"
"You're meant to be in your dream with the man?" Dorothy chuckled.
"Yeah! He's... he's the answer."
Gallifrey was a very sensitive girl, she had just turned 20 and had plans to start university pretty soon. She wanted to study history and maybe teach or... or end up working in her mother's charity as Dorothy always had planned, no pressure of course.
"Sweetheart, you're half asleep, you're not thinking straight. Just let me get you a new shirt, and you can get some sleep. The man in the suit won't come back."
"That's what I'm scared of. He needs to come back. He can't leave me here."
"Mummy's here, love," Dorothy kissed her forehead. "Now let's get some rest, big day at the charity tomorrow."
Gallifrey switched her shirt and fell back against her pillow. It had been over a year since she started having those dreams. Dreams of other worlds, time travel, aliens... and love.
The next morning Gallifrey was feeling very tired, she wasn't able to rest at all. Not after that dream. She just cried and cried for hours until she practically passed out.
"How are you feeling, Galli?" Dorothy asked.
"Like hell."
"I'm sorry, do you wanna skip the event today? Get some sleep."
"I can't sleep right now. I wanna go, it'll keep me distracted. Just give me ten minutes and I'll be ready."
Gallifrey fixed her hair in a ponytail, she put some makeup on and a dress. It was December so her mother warned her to get a coat.
"Can I borrow that blue one you have?" She asked. "It's the only one that matches this dress."
"Of course, it's in the wardrobe," Dorothy mindlessly said.
The wardrobe looked the same, it had the same clothes as always, but this time... this time Gallifrey's hand didn't find the blue coat, instead it was instantly attracted to the very back where she found a black jacket covered in patches and pins.
"This is so cool," she breathed before putting it on. "Wow, who knew Mum could be cool?"
Having that jacket on felt different, it felt electric. So much energy surging through her and she had no idea why... couldn't possibly be the jacket. Right?
*
Early 2006: London
"Jesus Christ you scared me!" The Doctor jumped when he entered the TARDIS and saw her standing there. "Wait... where's Rose?"
"Rose? I... I don't know. Where the hell am I? What happened?"
The Doctor analyzed her carefully and suddenly his face lit up.
"I know that jacket... you know Ace!"
"Who?"
"Ace McShane of course."
"I don't know who that is. This is my mother's jacket, you must be mistaken."
"Your mother?"
"My mother, Dorothy McShane from Charitable Earth, you might've heard of her."
"Ooooh yeah, I get it," the Doctor nodded, remembering what happened and how Ace's memory was wiped before she was returned to Earth. "What's your name?"
"I'm Gallifrey," she mumbled. "Wait a second... You're the man in the suit!"
"I suppose I am. Gallifrey?" He chuckled, a big goofy grin on his face. "Guess she didn't completely forget me after all."
"What am I doing here? What is this place?" She started freaking out a bit. "I was just in my mum's bedroom, I blinked and I was here. How did that happen?"
"You're in the TARDIS, time and relative dimension in space. It's my ship, it travels anywhere and to any time you want. Usually I have a companion, but she seems to be lost right now..."
"Is your companion the blonde girl?"
The Doctor nodded, hating the way her voice trembled. The idea that something might've happened to Rose broke his hearts.
"Have you seen her?"
"Yes... in my dream. I- I'm sorry, she's gone. To another world."
"What? When?"
"Last night, December 20th."
"Gallifrey, today is February 5th."
"2006?"
"Yeah, you saw my future and somehow changed my present, but how?"
The Doctor thought for a moment. If there was a way to get Rose back, he would take it, but if their future was a bitter goodbye in which she was forced into another world... did he even want that? Wouldn't it be better to save them the heartache?
"Rose went to another universe? So it's possible her existence was completely erased from this one. Her time with me... it's all a memory."
"Maybe we can find her!" Gallifrey suggested.
"We can try, but the timeline is already fixing itself. It required someone to fill her place and you were just soaked with time travel radiation because of the jacket. So it sent me you, the TARDIS knows you."
"Radiation? Is that dangerous?" Gallifrey looked down at herself terrified.
"No, it's completely harmless. It's just the sort of radiation that accumulates as a result of one traveling in time. Your mother had lots of it and she must've passed it onto you too."
"My mother? She traveled in time?" She laughed, it was such a ridiculous notion. Her mother, the biggest homebody she knew, the most cautious person ever!
"Oh yeah," the Doctor grinned. "With me, when she was younger and went by Ace. We were best friends!"
"Yeah right..."
"Why else would you have the name you have? Do you know what your name means?"
"No, always thought she got it from a fantasy book or something."
"Gallifrey is the name of my home planet, I'm a Time Lord. Unfortunately, I can't show you since I'm all that's left of that planet, but she knew about it. Her memory was wiped but in the back of her brain she remembered."
For some reason, she wanted to believe him. She did believe him. It was like somehow she knew him of old, like they were connected by this invisible string. The man in the suit wouldn't lie to her, she was sure of that just as she was sure he wouldn't hurt her.
"So what now?" Gallifrey asked.
"Now we look for Rose like you said, it's worth a try... I'm the Doctor by the way."
"Doctor, Doctor who?"
"Just Doctor."
"Alright then, Doctor. Let's find Rose!"
"You seem excited already," he teased.
"Well, I finally found the man in the suit I've been looking for in my dreams for a year. This is ace! Let's go, Professor."
"What did you just call me?" His eyes widened.
"Um, I don't know..." her brows furrowed, but she shrugged with a smile. "Wicked."

I am of the opinion that Dany will form an alliance with Euron, will probably even marry him (i am not sure on this one) but when the struggle between them begins, she will also overpower him. However, this alliance will cost her a lot. Exactly what, we don't know yet.
Hello anon! Sorry I took so long to answer 😔 While I obviously don't know for sure what will happen, I can somewhat guess based on canonical themes and foreshadowing.
In Meeren, Daenerys struggled with reconciling what she wanted to do as Daenerys with what she needed to do as a Queen. She was in love with Daario, but he was only a sellsword, an unfit consort for a Queen. She ended marrying Hizdahr to stabilize the political situation in the city, but she felt no attraction towards him. This dichotomy is a subcategory of the bigger "olive trees vs dragons" conflict in her chapters. If she's attracted to Euron and he offers an advantageous marriage alliance, for a brief moment she'll think she's getting everything she wants without having to sacrifice or compromise any of her desires. Even if Euron's betrayal miraculously doesn't cause any damage to her cause, his murder attempt will be emotionally painful.
Quaithe warned Daenerys about not trusting the "kraken and dark flame." She'll probably assume it's Victarion Greyjoy, whose house sigil is a kraken, is coming to Meereen to offer her a marriage alliance with a horn to control dragons, and is accompained by a red priest nicknamed Black Flame. The problem is that nobody interprets prophecies correctly in this series, so it wouldn't surprise me if the kraken turns out to be Euron or maybe Asha. The revelation that the warnings could be about any member of a house, independently if she meets them first or not, will probably make her more paranoid and fearful. Depending on how serious it is, this mistrust could damage her relationship with her allies, or straight up cause her to break off or reject alliances from "suspicious" houses.
Now, this part is based on the TWOW excerpts released by GRRM, so they could change once the book is published.
In the Forsaken, Euron forced Aeron to drink Shade of the Evening and he had a couple of prophetic visions. In the last one, he saw his brother sitting on the Iron Throne and using a dragonbinder horn to command dragons:
“The bleeding star bespoke the end,” he said to Aeron. “These are the last days, when the world shall be broken and remade. A new god shall be born from the graves and charnel pits.” Then Euron lifted a great horn to his lips and blew, and dragons and krakens and sphinxes came at his command and bowed before him. “Kneel, brother,” the Crow’s Eye commanded. “I am your king, I am your god. Worship me, and I will raise you up to be my priest.” “Never. No godless man may sit the Seastone Chair!” “Why would I want that hard black rock? Brother, look again and see where I am seated.” Aeron Damphair looked. The mound of skulls was gone. Now it was metal underneath the Crow’s Eye: a great, tall, twisted seat of razor sharp iron, barbs and blades and broken swords, all dripping blood. Impaled upon the longer spikes were the bodies of the gods. The Maiden was there and the Father and the Mother, the Warrior and Crone and Smith … even the Stranger. They hung side by side with all manner of queer foreign gods: the Great Shepherd and the Black Goat, three-headed Trios and the Pale Child Bakkalon, the Lord of Light and the butterfly god of Naath. And there, swollen and green, half-devoured by crabs, the Drowned God festered with the rest, seawater still dripping from his hair. Then, Euron Crow’s Eye laughed again, and the priest woke screaming in the bowels of Silence, as piss ran down his leg. It was only a dream, a vision born of foul black wine. (TWOW The Forsaken)
There's a theory that Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion are meant to parallel Balerion, Vhagar and Meraxes, and if that's the case, maybe their fates are meant to foreshadow what will happen to Daenerys' dragons. Viserion will die first, taken down by a scorpion bolt. And how did Vhagar die? Fighting another dragon above the Gods Eye. The dragonbinder horn would explain why Rhaegal will fight Drogon, but why would they be at the Gods Eye? Well, maybe Euron will pick Harrenhal as the place to carry on his ritual, because the castle has been cursed since Aegon the Conqueror burned Harren alive with dragonfire, and their fight will mirror Vhagar vs Caraxes. Or maybe he'll pick the Isle of Faces because he wants to kill the Old Gods inhabiting the weirwoods, and because it was the place were the Children of the Forest supposedly sacrificed a thousand of captives to the weirwoods to call down the Hammer of the Waters and break off Westeros from Essos, and he wants to so something equally cataclysmic.

Something so uncanny just happened to me and I need to write about it. Say and think what you want, I know it all sounds stupid and too crazy, but I cannot make this up.
I woke up at around four in the morning last night but I didn’t know why. After that I felt so many strange things. I felt so off and so tired that I could barely move. I was so tired but couldn’t fall back asleep. After about ten or so minutes of just helplessly lying there desperately wanting to fall back asleep, I got up and grabbed my laptop and wrote. I have never done something like that before. I put on my one spotify playlist that is all just instrumental music and wrote. Apparently this is what I wrote: There in the hotel hallway he stands. He is waiting for me to touch.
That is literally all that was written on the google doc. And I don’t even remember writing those words. I remember getting up and turning on my laptop, but I didn’t remember exactly what I wrote. Freaky. I deleted the doc because I don’t like it at all.
I must have then fallen back asleep or something because then I remember more about the weird dream I had. Oh god, this is going to make me sound like such a fucking loser but Jeremy was in fact in the dream amongst other people in my life. It was all such a weird dream. I don’t remember the storyline to be exact, but I remember that I actually had the five senses. I could reach my hand out and touch what I wanted and I could feel the material. I could see things all so clearly and I was able to say whatever I wanted. It’s like I could control the weird dream but I couldn’t control the storyline or where it took place. I could only control certain things.
I hate that this is the only thing I remember because it’s so fucking stupid but: Well first off, I remember the really weird building we were in. The hallways were so thin and the floor was this really ugly red carpet. Apartment or hotel, I don’t remember but there was something just so off about it, all the colors were so ugly and the walls were all wood with this ugly dark brown color. Every room was tiny. Stupid part incoming here: there was this one guy there that I had never seen before and we stood in the ugly ass hall and he tried to choke me but I didn’t let him I don’t think. Then his hands got all tangled in my hair, like very tangled. They were all stuck in my hair and then these hands turned me around and pulled me away to face the other direction. As the other man’s hands were still and stuck and intertwined with my hair, I had kissed Jeremy on the lips (Fucking embarrassing to talk about ahrrrgggg. It isn’t my fault this part I swear I had no control over. Like I was literally stuck there. Almost like the hands in my hair were like holding me there in my mind or something).
I could feel everything, it was so freaky, I still remember the feeling and I don’t like it because it’s honestly freaky and stupid. The last thing I remember is how strange it got. As we continued to kiss, soapy bubbles came out of our mouths but we kept going. Godddd this is so stupid and weird.
That’s all I remember, I don’t know if the dream went on from there or if it stopped. The next thing I remember is waking up. The playlist that I put on at four in the morning was still playing as I guess I fell asleep without turning it off. And for those that don’t know, after your own Spotify playlist is finished, it keeps playing songs that aren’t on your playlist but ones that are similar to the ones on your playlist. And this part I wish I had some sort of proof to show you that I can’t make this shit up. Like it is just so stupidly crazy that it sounds unreal and dumb but you just have to believe me. When I woke and thought about what the fuck just went on, I looked at my phone to turn off the music and what song fucking plays?? Some song from the movie Armageddon Time. The one song, “Flushing Meadow”. I’m probably just sick in the head but what the fuck are the chances of some strange coincidence that that song is playing when I wake up? A song that wasn’t even on my playlist.
In the end, I don’t think this could possibly mean anything. In high school, I was all about crystals and the universe but I had given up with it as all it gave me was bad luck in high school with this one boy lol so then I stopped with it all. I think the only thing that this means is that my mind is weird and I need to get out and meet real people. I’m beginning to think that my mind is very strange. Not creative, just strange.
