and i couldn't help but think of this:

i wouldn't think it unlikely that gale may have gone through here, with his parents perhaps - his mother morena and the father, who would abandon them - looking to buy fresh meat to prepare a delicious meal. all those recipes gale would later learn.

i can see a much, much younger gale spotting a little stray kitten and begging for it to come home with them, only to be denied.

with a heart so big he cries over a burned rose bush, little gale would definitely cry over little kittens without homes.

has anyone talked about the word choice for the place where ed is w/ "hornigold"? because i haven't seen it yet, and it's interesting. like. as far as i (raised catholic, not really in the business anymore) remember, "purgatory" is not a place between life and death, but rather between death and heaven -- your sins weren't so grave to damn you, but you're not so holy that you go straight to heaven either, so there you go into the soup. the living are encouraged to help their dead by praying for their souls. you can't be "demoted" from purgatory to hell; you're already promised heaven, just, uh, not yet? although in some doctrines i think purgatory is more about paying off your sins by suffering? man it's been years, i don't remember shit :')

but does it have hashtag Meaning, or is it just a word ed has used because he vaguely remembered it had something to do with dying? i don't know if ofmd would send its gay kiwi guy on a christian afterlife trip and play around with concepts like "suffering for one's sins" or "soul purification", so probably it's the latter. idk though!

Working for the ( so very beloved ) musician , Ernesto de la Cruz , did not come without its downfalls.  Not at all to the fault of her employer , a man Verona would be more than happy to sing the praises of to the press whenever questioned , but the tabloids … Oftentimes had o t h e r ideas.  After all , seeing him – a certain bachelor – now in CLOSE PROXIMITY to a woman gives those frothing mongrels just the ammunition they need to spread the fires of s p e c u l a t i o n and stoke the blazes of g o s s i p .  Even Ernesto’s fans ( his family , verona notices he refers to them as ) seem all too e a g e r to jump at the prospect that his new face of security is actually ( quite possibly ) … HIS SECRET LOVER !  Though it i s very much true , that does not mean it had to be known.

It is to be e x p e c t e d , but just the same , Verona would rather live simply and quietly ; this is one of the many mounting reasons she never thought to pursue her musical talents ( now , only ever performing in the secrecy of the shared home with ernesto )— She very likely would lose her temper with the utter nonsense of the public.

It might also be a BAD IDEA to keep reading the magazines with the articles about the two of them.  Condemn her , then , she is awfully c u r i o u s as to what is being said and never it ceases to get even more absurd⸺

Perhaps sensing the tension and uncertainty asking to be eased , the musician’s hands fall into place along fair shoulders , rough fingers expertly working into her muscles.  He says something , but her mind has gone b l a n k , focused on HIS TOUCH and nothing beyond it , on the way her body completely abides by it , relaxes beneath it.  She loathes the way he has such power , such control … A man taming the man-eater ?  I m a g i n e !

Her head lulls back , gazing up at him.  There’s a fond look on her face , her expression nothing if not plainly ADORING .  ❝ Thank you , ❞ She whispers.  Though there’s so much m o r e spoken in the sentiment than mere gratitude.

would this be a good time to ask where the idea that vermouth hates miyano elena and in turn also hates haibara come from? i had always thought that she is dead set on killing haibara not because of personal hatred but to ensure that haibara cannot continue the aptx/silver bullet research, so i interpreted her antagonism as being towards the development of the drug and not towards the miyanos. but i see that it’s mostly taken as fact that vermouth harbors a personal grievance against miyano elena, with many theorizing that it stems from the miyano version of the aptx/silver bullet prototype. is it simply from the “an angel has never smiled upon me, not once” line that sharon said in new york, or is there something else i’m missing?

Sorry for being this way but lowkey every time I see Chace with Seb, I remember the good old OG evanstan fics that made Chris be jelly of him lol so damn good.

Ooohh that was a thing in old Evanstan fics? I don't recall ever having read about that (but then I haven't read that many Evanstan fics I guess, I may have written more than I've read lol). I can see it though, Chace is a beautiful man and he and Seb are close friends. I can could imagine Chris wondering and worrying about the nature of their relationship, and getting a little jealous and unintentionally possessive because of it. Seb introducing Chace to him, only for Chris to give Chace extra firm handshakes and hard stares, making sure he stands between Chace and Seb at all times... 👀
