It's one thing for something to be scheduled on shabbos when goyische people do it (and I wouldn't expect that unless it involves jews for whatever reason), but it's a different thing altogether when jews schedule something right on shabbos 😭😭
#jumblr#personal thoughts tag#to be clear: i am very bad about observing shabbos#this post is a vague about a jewish get-together movie that starts at 19:30 on a friday#i work an evening shift on that friday so to be clear i am NOT upset because i can't go to An Event for shabbos reasons#i just find it funny when this happens#unfortunately a friday is a pretty accessible day just because of the way that our society is structured#it's not in a jewish-friendly way. but i feel a saturday night would have been a perfect alternative#because sundays aren't inaccessible to jews. if anything it's MORE accessible to us because businesses are often closed on sundays#ESPECIALLY in my town where a good chunk are pretty protestant (and catholic). they want to REST on their sundays#the only places you can really go to as a jew on a sunday is like. an IHOP. maybe a denny's if your town isn't bougie about it (respect)#i'm just a little baffled about this choice (as a jew who does NOT currently observe shabbos)#man do i agonize over being a more rural jew. going to that movie would take two hours (2.5hours with bad traffic at least) just to drive to#i would have to leave SO early and i would get home at probably 03:00 or something stupid like that 😭#no WAY i would be able to attend shabbos services which i ALSO have to drive a while to attend

WORK RANT ⬇️
okay, so i am a Paramedic and I work in the ER, last night we had a patient that had severe autism, he was non verbal as well and got abandoned by his group home. it made me soooooooo mad. because if you sign up to care for someone then that’s exactly what you do. if it becomes too much for you there’s steps you take both legally and medical care wise to rid yourself of the responsibility. you do not drop your resident off because he’s being aggressive and decide to never come back.
you just have to put things into perspective, if you couldn’t speak or communicate the way everyone else around you does would you or would you not be “aggressive”? OF COURSE YOU WOULD. imagine being ripped from the comfort of your home and thrown into a hospital a LEVEL 1 TRAUMA ER (meaning we get the worst of the worst because we have the staff and equipment to handle it) overnight, and you are non verbal and autistic. can you fucking imagine how overstimulated he was? and if you’ve ever seen or been to an ER you know how bright, loud, and busy it is. 3 things most autistic kids don’t like.
it was just crazy to me, i’m not saying it doesn’t get hard because i’m sure it does. my job seems impossible sometimes and i’ve only done it for 4 months. but never in a million years could i see myself as a company who is trained and trains others to care for people with these disorders and disabilities abandoning a resident.
we ended up having to call the adult protective services and charges got filed against the group home but idk.. it was just awful. i can’t imagine doing that to someone i signed up to care for.
so if you plan on working with or for a group home for children or adults with diagnosed disorders or disabilities please make sure your heart is in it 120%. they are people just like us and literally no fucking one deserves to be ripped from their home in the middle of the night and abandoned at a hospital due to behaviors they can’t control.

#kind of like abed from community during daylight savings yknow#every day i feel more and more like abed#i just have no sense of time left#me: why did that post go out yesterday it was supposed to go out on tuesday?#me: wait its wednesday#me: wait fuck i havent done any hours of my remote job yet this week#im getting very mixed up with my full time job and my remote job#and dont tell my boss but im def not doing a full 16 hours a week of my remote job#i forget it exists and then make a bunch of posts in a panic#its the ideal way to do it#im considering going to the library today to do my remote job#i just got home from my in person job so im tired#but i should get out of the house more#and itd be nice to get my library card#i might do that tomorrow tho since i already have to go to a remote job meeting tomorrow#i have too many jobs. unfortunately the high of having money is addictive#thats why i like having a job that pays tips#and a job that i dont have to do much for to collect a paycheck#god im tired. today was a half day for the local school and they all decided to come to my job (dunkin)#and there were three of us. thats not enough of us#unfortunately i love food service and this wasnt as bad as some shifts ive had#okay i think today ill chill and do some remote work at home#and then tomorrow ill do laundry in the morning and then the phone meeting#and then go to the library to do a few more hours of work#and then theres a restaurant i want to try in the area#and thatll fuel me for the hiking trail i want to try#sounds like a plan#(cut to me tomorrow just laying in bed all day)#no i wont let that happen! its gonna be good! im gonna be productive and get a grasp of time and productivity!!!!!!!

Ogod, my schedule for the next two weeks are such ASS. wtf… I’m going to be SO FREAKING TIRED and so freaking depressed. I hate it I hate it I hate it.

I wish I didn’t need to work for money bc I value my free time more#for context: by the time I get home after king shifts; I’ve already been awake for 12hrs and it can be physically exhausting on busy days#and I just hate being there for long shifts. if my shift needs a lunch I hate it#I prefer smaller shifts#but the next two weeks are ALL LONG SHIFTS#and I work at 7am so I’m up hella early#I just hate doing customer service bs but it’s the only option I have rn#I’m going to have little to no socialization time or drawing time bc I’ll be so tired once I do have free time#or I’ll miss out on all the activity#and I just. WANT TO DRAW GDI#I just hate working lmao. I’m already preemptively SUPER bummed out#I’m going to be so lonely too ugh#sorry in advance for me being whiny and sad and frustrated lol#sorry for all the spelling errors. It's very easy to convince me to agree to overtime before I've done any, once I'm part way through the week, having already done several of my regular shifts plus overtime? No.
#employment#ace is a grumpy bean#my boss asked me at the start of my Saturday shift if i wanted overtime for Monday (after class) and Wednesday#i agreed very easily on Saturday but then couldnt sleep before my sunday shift had uni and work on monday class Tuesday#and then overtime on Wednesday and he scheduled me a 7am start!! i dont even have classes at that time#so safe to say my customer service skills are worn thin atm#but he came up to me at work today to ask if i wanted overtime for tomorrow and i very quickly declined#i aint doing sht tomorrow if you still want me to do my weekend shift without bodily attacking a customer#he then asked if id start earlier on Saturday instead which i did agree to cus i have to be there anyway#like its just more pay then instead of sacrificing a day. youre not having my Friday. i need one lie in this week#if you wanted me to agree to work friday you shoulda asked on Saturday when you asked about the rest#cus i never remember how much i hate agreeing to work until the week is sprawled out in front of me#and i see i have sacrificed all of my home time and by god do i need to be at home. i got laundry to do

Found this cleaning job on indeed that pays pretty well omg. The other job is taking too long to get back to me (I think it’s because of my sister actually since they hated her back when she worked there ToT… and of course they’d recognize my last name…)
#I just don’t have a car… but on the page it mentioned that it’s okay if you take public transportation#they also give employees free home cleaning services what the hell#I wonder if it’s monthly…#they’ll just come out to your house and do their thing… awesome my mom would love that#cleaning jobs are tiresome but there’s is sm money to be made there and it’s nice to know that you’re making someone else’s environment#comfortable especially if they aren’t able to do so for themselves#and anything that has to do with sanitation is definitely backbreaking but it’s humbling as well and also#moneyyyy#maybe I should apply#no weekends#it looks like they only have day shifts#there’s a $100 sign on bonus idk if the training is paid it might be#they offer#reimbursement for your travels#for if you drive or take public transportation#and they’ll have everything that you’ll need for work#I think they give out uniforms as well#you also get to keep the tips you get… whaaa

#i haven’t been home long but i gotta get ready for bed bc i gotta be at work at 8 am and i mean!!#today wasn’t bad!! it was just very long and i heard today that my district manager expects us to work through#our shifts without going on break :) during holiday :) some of us work 8-9 hours lads :)#and even if we didn’t!! that’s still a lot to ask when customer service and hand making products isn’t all sunshine and fun time#i left my previous job bc i wasn’t eating and working straight through 8+ hours and it really showed in how i was mentally#you really need that time to eat and relax when you’ve been running around all day and dealing with people who aren’t always pleasant#let me stop venting though asdfg#i just feel very strongly about how companies treat their people and this is a big one bc of how miserable my last job made me#you stop taking care of your employees and you’re gonna lose them#get ready to ramble | ooc#tw vent
