You open the envelope with your name on it from the mail you just picked up in the mailbox.

When you opened it you realized it was from your mom, asking you to go to the family dinner with your girlfriend.. You knew your mom wouldn't accept you for being gay even if you told her, this wasn't the first time you told her you might like boys more than girls but she never believed you. She believed in you having the most beautiful wife but that just wasn't the case.. you sign and think about what you will do.

You place your head on your desk whenever you hear your door open with a swift movements then being shut, you immediately assume it might be Darson but to your surprise it's actually his sister Dani.

"Dani?!" You immediately jump up and walk over to her

"Are you okay, hun?" She asks, leaning against the door frame of your room door, sipping on some coffee she probably stole from your kitchen

"Oh yeah of course im..," you swallow "Dani will you be my girlfriend?"

Dani literally spits her coffee back into the cup, choking, "what?!" she yells surprised as she catches her breathe "Darson wouldn't like that! Why are you asking me-"

You place your hand on her shoulder "My mom sent a letter to me saying I had to bring my girlfriend to the family dinner.. I meant as like a pretend girlfriend."

"I'd be willing too, but hunny," She places a gentle hand on your cheek "I think you need to talk to Darson first, see what he says, you know it's not right to keep things from him."

You sigh, of course you knew that but you just didn't know how to tell Darson about it..

"Thank you Dani, I will tell him," your voice is a little quieter than usual, but she still hears you. She waves goodbye and leaves your house.

You turn off the big light in your room and snuggle into your bed, curling up a little as your thoughts race about how you might tell Darson and how it will play out

But soon enough as your thoughts wander you fall asleep..

Your alarm wakes you up, it seems to be morning already. You stretch and get out of bed, but as soon as you see that letter your your desk again you immediately fill with dread again. Today was the day of the dinner in the afternoon..

You get dress and head out, immediately texting Darson that your going to his house. You quickly arrive at his place and unlock the door with your key.

You are immediately embraced into Darson's arms, your head against his upper chest

"Are you okay?" you ask nervously, not moving out of the bigger guys embrace though

"Of course I'm fine," he smiles "why wouldn't I be?"

"Nothing-" you murmer, just settling into your boyfriends arms for the time

"Why did you come so early? is something on your mind, my love?" He gently lifts your chin to look at him

At that time Dani was already intgs room, you could see her giving you a glace from the conner of her eye. It was time to tell him..

You pull him outside, "I was invited to the family dinner this year by my mom and she told me to bring my girlfriend and I was scared of rejection so I told Dani to be my pretend girlfriend and I-" you were paused by a gentle kiss

"It's alright, my love..," Darson murmers, holding your hand, "if you are not ready to tell her that is completely up to you."

"But.." you stammer, looking at him up and down "you're supposed to.. why aren't you mad at me?"

"Because, I know you have good intentions.. I love you more than you will ever know." He kisses you again, pulling you closer to him "This is your decision." Darson whispers

"Thank you Darson" you murmer

"No, thank you for being honest." Darson rests his head on top of yours, closing his eyes and savoring the moment of holding you

forgive me if you've been asked this before or if its annoying, but how did you learn to use colored pencils like that? your art is so special to me.

ty :) I took an art class for a few years where our teacher had us buy prismacolor pencils as one of the art supplies and had us use them kinda like paints, pressing down hard right away and blending the colors together. its not how youre supposed to use them she was just trying to teach us to use color and ig this was more to the point. I picked them up again years after i stopped going to that class just bc they were there and i wanted to play around w them a bit and ended up actually enjoying it when doing it on my own terms lol
