Hey Libra! Hope you're well! I just had to ask... how on earth do you write for so many characters, so well?

Yooo, im quite content actually got a new plant im excited to repot. Im also (hopefully) gonna have chicken cuddles later today

Anyhoo! the answer is practice!! Lots of practice. And study the character like a bug in a jar. How do they react to danger, to happiness, to friends, to family ... how does their past color their actions, what are their current goals and desires. Are they even aware of what their desires are, etc.

From there you can start to extrapolate how they'd act in the new Situations you're putting them in! Romance is fun and my favorite to write because some people really do act differently with their loved ones and that's fun to explore, plus relationships can lead to emotional highs and lows. And awaken lots of trauma and angst. You know how it goes.

Practice is essential tho! Itll be bad and okay before it gets good. In my own experience sometimes doing a fuckton of characters becomes "meh" because I worry Im repeating myself - characters of the same temperment can have really similar reactions to a Situation! So I try to put a unique spin it, bc they dont have the same experiences/pasts.

And then ofc I worry I write so much fanfiction that the character isn't like their canon self at all ... I really need to reread asoiaf bc I worry abt that often. So referencing canon scenes/quotes/episodes/chapters/blah blah is essential. Asoiaf wiki is always up, I have notes on Lackadaisy stuff, I'll rewatch scenes in Peaky, etc etc.

It was a cute thing that the two of you started doing shortly after dating. It started out subtle. A belt that looks a lot like Kayn's collar from Heartsteel's MV at an award ceremony together while he wore a coat that really looked like the one in K/DA's latest MV. Nothing too obvious at first, just similar colors, similar styles. A Glove that looks like the same design as Kayn's just a different color when you were at a meet and greet. An array of accessories that look a lot like yours when Kayn was caught flipping off the paparazzi.

Your stylists were both in on it too, having fun throwing the two of you in outfits from the same collection sometimes. Getting you to wear bracelets while Kayn wears the paired rings from the same collection, you wearing a necklace with Kayn's having the same design earring. Cute little fits that are similar yet not, from the same unknown indie designer. More bold choices where you'd have a K on your clothes while Kayn wore your initials in his belt. Just waiting for someone to pick up on what was going on yet not outright announcing anything.

It was all really, really! Cute! Only after a month or so did the fans pick up on it. Then it hit all at once. The net was abuzz with your name and Kayn's. Someone mentioning how your new jacket was in the same collection as Kayn's at the livestreamed event going on right now and boom. Photos of all the times the two of you suspiciously wear things in a matching color scheme, same design, same collection, hell straight up matching shoes at the last Gala. It was insane the amount of press coverage that suddenly were thrown on you both.

That night, you dropped by his hotel room after a long day of trivial idol things. Going through the usual bath and change of clothes. You snuggle up to him in bed as you whip out your phone. Kayn's arm wrapping around you, pulling you closer.

" We should do this more. I can't deny, seeing press like this about myself for once is nice."

Kayn thinks out loud about it while giving your forehead a little kiss. Enjoying this more than he thought he would when you first suggested it. K/DA were supportive of the idea, Ahri finding it super cute while Akali and Eve just wanted to see if Kayn would get himself in trouble (they were betting on it). Heartsteel on the other hand were mixed about it, which just made Kayn want to do it even more! Yone and K'sante didn't really get it at first, Sett (and Alune) Loved it! Ezreal was just salty he wasn't included while Aphelios didn't care for it. It was overall still fun PR for the two bands so all the managers let it happen.

" Honestly I'm surprised it took this long...they were all up in arms within minutes the last time I wore Ezreal's sunglasses to a concert."

Kayn laughs, slowly scrolling through social media as you laid in his arms going through your own phone. Enjoying seeing all the cute comments and speculations people made. Were the two of you dating? Good friends? Is this a teaser for Heartsteel and K/DA getting a collab? Were they just being paid? A PR stunt? They have the same stylists after all. It was so fun! You hold back a laugh as you see the jokes people make about how you seem to steal his rings in some paparazzi's shots or how Kayn keeps showing up near K/DA concert locations suspiciously wearing your fan colors. But none of the fans were wrong, the two of you were just having fun. You were dating him, you two were good friends, maybe the two of you were also secretly writing a collab song and this Was a PR stunt. You finally snicker seeing how close some fans got to the truth.

" Fucking with fans and paparazzi like this is honestly my new favorite hobby...I mean second only to being with you~"

Kayn laughs, teasing you, his free hand gently rubbing your side as he uses his phone with his right. A soft smile on his face while his head leaning against yours while you rest on his chest. He usually doesn't give a shit about rumors or public opinion but...when it came to things like this? It was hella fun. A little sprinkle of havoc. Nothing to get his lover in trouble but enough to satisfy his craving for anarchy. Perfect fun for someone like Kayn while letting you lay your claim on having this man in your life. Nothing that would risk the reputation of you both yet let Kayn be a little bit possessive.

" So, just straight up wearing each other's fanclub merch tomorrow to the event then?"

" You're going to get yourself cancelled Kayn."

He laughs harder, hugging you tight.

Hi so me being me I've decided to hyperanalyze the conversation Qrow and Raven had in Higanbana practically line by line bcus I have Many Thoughts and this is the best way I can think of to get them all out. If you can't tell I'm absolutely obsessed with these two. Btw.

Thanks to the RWBY wiki for providing transcripts for every episode, otherwise I definitely would have missed smth despite having just watched this scene recently lol

I put it under the read more for easier scrolling due to how long this post got!

I immediately noticed smth in the very first lines of the interaction:

Raven: "Hello, brother." Qrow: "...Raven."

You'll notice throughout the whole conversation that Raven never calls Qrow by his name, only condescendingly referring to him as "brother" this one time and never calling him anything else. Meanwhile, Qrow directly refers to Raven a total of three times throughout the conversation, and only one doesn't call Raven by her name (which we'll get to shortly)

On the other hand, Qrow doesn't bother with even so much as a greeting beyond simply stating Raven's name

It's different ways of communicating their distance. While Raven holds her relationship with Qrow over his head — never once, even outside of this scene, does she call him "brother" with affection iirc, only derision and condescension — Qrow doesn't seem to rly know how to greet her. He hesitates before saying her name and approaching her, as if trying to assess the situation before acting

Qrow: "So, what do you want?" Raven: "A girl can't just catch up with her family?" Qrow: "She can, but you're not. Now how 'bout we get on with it? Unless you plan on keeping these [drinks] comin'."

Again, Raven seems to bring up her familial ties with Qrow as a tactic to get him to do what she wants — in this case, stick around to talk to her despite him not seeming to rly want to. Frankly, it feels manipulative. We're gonna put a pin in this for now and come back to it in just a moment

Additionally, Qrow already knows that Raven's not just here for a friendly chat between two siblings, and sees right thru her facade that it is. Raven is here bcus she wants smth from him. But interestingly, it is Raven in V5 that says, in an almost frustrated/disappointed tone, "Family. Only coming around when they need something." There's another pin; keep both in mind

Raven: "Does she have it?" Qrow: "...Did you know Yang lost her arm?" Raven: "That's not—" Qrow: "Rhetorical question, I know you know. It's just obnoxious that you'd bring up family and then carry on like your own daughter doesn't exist." Raven: "I saved her." Qrow: "Once. Because that was your rule, right? Real 'Mom of the Year' material, sis."

Qrow dodges Raven's question about the Relic and instead brings up her hypocrisy in how she treats family. And it's a good point. Here she is lording her siblingship with Qrow over his head while simultaneously defending and upholding her rule that she is only obligated to help her own daughter a single time. Another pinpoint on our little conspiracy board

Also, here's the one time in this conversation Qrow refers to Raven as "sis". Like Raven's use of "brother", Qrow's use of "sis" is very pointed and with intent. But it's not to manipulate Raven, it's a snarky jab meant to rly hammer home Qrow's point

Raven: "I told you Beacon would fall, and it did. I told you Ozpin would fail, and he has. Now you tell me. Does. Salem. Have it?" Qrow: "I thought you weren't interested in all of that." Raven: "I just want to know what we are up against." Qrow: "And which 'we' are you referring to?"

A few things of note here. At some point in the past, Raven expressed an outright disinterest in Ozpin's inner circle, at least to Qrow. Qrow also feels excluded in the "we" Raven mentions being against Salem. To me, there seems to be a distinct possibility here that it wasn't that Raven felt personally disinterested in Ozpin's operations, but that she somehow felt excluded and feigned a lack of interest in order to protect herself. An idea that is further supported in my eyes by the following dialogue:

Qrow: "You should come back, Raven. The only way we'd beat her is by working together. All of us." Raven: "You're the one who left. The tribe raised us, and you turned your back on them." Qrow: "They were killers and thieves." Raven: "They were your family." Qrow: "You have a very skewed perception of that word."

And there it is. Raven's problem is laid out here for us, loud and clear: She feels like she was the one abandoned, not the one running away. She says it outright! "You're the one who left." To her, Qrow is the traitor, the one who left their family behind. If you ask Qrow (or, for that matter, Tai, Yang, and even Summer based on the scene in V9), it's the opposite

Bcus they have different definitions of family

Another thing to pin (I promise this will all become clear soon)

Raven: "I lead our people now. And as leader, I will do everything in my power to ensure our survival." Qrow: "I saw. The people of Shion saw, too." Raven: "The weak die. The strong live. Those are the rules." Qrow: "Well, you've certainly got someone strong on your side. I've seen the damage." Raven: "We couldn't have known the Grimm would set in as quickly as they did." Qrow: "I'm not talking about the Grimm. And I'm not talking about you, either."

Notice Raven's shift from "the tribe" to "our people". More of that guilt tripping!

Additionally, Raven is *obsessed* with rules. One save. The weak die, the strong live. Raven lives and breathes rules, even seemingly arbitrary ones. Guess what this is? Another pin!

Raven: "If you don't know where the Relic is, then we have nothing left to talk about." Qrow: "I don't know where the Spring Maiden is, either, but if you do, I need you to tell me." Raven: "And why would I do that?" Qrow: "Because without her, we're all going to die." Raven: "...And which 'we' are you referring to?"

Qrow's "either" here implies that he also doesn't know where the Crown of Choice is, which is... interesting. He's one of Ozpin's closest lieutenants, and is in the dark on where Beacon's Relic is? Wherever it is, it is such a closely kept secret that even Ozpin's best spy doesn't know where it is (maybe so that in the event Qrow gets captured by Salem he can't be forced into giving her the information?)

Meanwhile, Raven's "And why would I [tell you]?" implies that she does know who the Spring Maiden is (obviously. Raven's the Spring Maiden lol) but refuses to disclose to Qrow

A lantern sputters out after Qrow says "Without [Spring] we're all going to die." Now, I genuinely can't remember if this is headcanon or canon, but iirc Misfortune seems to act up when Qrow's upset. He's clearly tired of this little game of dancing around topics that Raven's been playing with him

And once again, Raven indicates a feeling of exclusion from Qrow's life in the iconic final line. She gets the final word in before leaving

We've finally reached the end of the conversation. Now what does all of this tell us?

And here is where all of those pins I wrote down are relevant. As I mentioned, the twins view family very differently

Qrow's view is pretty obvious: he views family as the ppl in his life who matter most to him. Unlike Raven, he does not view the tribe as family despite the fact that they raised him, disgustedly referring to them as "killers and thieves". It's implied that he was, in fact, neglected and/or likely abused by the Branwen tribe, saying in V6C4, "No one wanted me... I was cursed..." further explaining his distaste for them. Furthermore, despite not being related to Ruby by blood, they clearly consider one another family throughout the series, and he even seems closer to her than he seems to his niece who's actually blood related to him (I personally headcanon that he keeps more of a distance from Yang bcus she reminds him too much of Raven, who he feels abandoned and hurt by, but that's neither here nor there). Bloodlines and debts are secondary compared to loyalty, if they're considered at all. He is obviously furious that Raven only insists on saving Yang once and never directly interacting with her beyond that, despite Raven constantly guilting Qrow over abandoning his so-called "family" of the tribe. And yet. And yet. He still offers Raven a place back in his life, even if only to unite against Salem

Raven's view, to me, has been an enigma for a while. But after hyperanalyzing this conversation, after noting down all of those points of interest, I feel like I've finally cracked the code. Raven views family as an obligation, an exchange that always has an ulterior motive behind it. She seeks out Qrow only bcus she desires smth from him despite showing distaste when someone does the same to her; condescendingly calls Qrow "brother" more than his actual name and calls the tribe their "family" to try guilting him into doing what she wants; and feels fierce loyalty to the tribe but barely interacts with her daughter, only seeming to count one of the two as true family. She views the concept of family with cynicism and seems to feel an obligation to the tribe, as if she "owes" them for raising her

I think the two's perceptions of what defines family are all to do with the way the tribe treated both of them. This crosses a bit into headcanon territory, but as you can see by the above quotes and analysis, I rly don't think I'm just making it up entirely

As I already mentioned, I think it's implied that the Branwen tribe neglected/abused Qrow. In fact, we could probably blame their treatment of him for the deep self-loathing he has due to his "cursed" Semblance. But what about Raven?

Well, it's simple: I think she was abused, too, just in a different way. While Qrow was likely shown and told on a consistent basis that he was unwanted, unloved, undeserving of good things, Raven may have been shown and told she was wanted, loved, and deserving of good things... if she did what the tribe told her. If she repaid them for raising her and her brother, for being her "family". The way she uses her familial ties with Qrow as almost blackmail may be exactly the way the tribe treated her. Her obsession with following rules may stem from the fact that she had to follow the rules the tribe set for her in order to be accepted and deemed worth smth

As for her distance from Yang... honestly, I wonder if Raven is aware that Yang deserves better and keeps her distance as her way of doing that. When Summer confronts Raven in the V9 scene, Raven says, "...You're better at that life. Better than I was." She seems to have a fear and insecurity about being a good family member, a good mother, and maybe that's why she fled. Maybe she was scared of being like her abusers due to how she emulates them as a self-preservation tactic in so many other ways. Not entirely sure about this point tho

And I think too this is why the twins don't rly understand one another. They may have been unaware of the different ways in which the other was treated. Qrow, constantly unwanted and loathed, can't understand why Raven sticks around with the tribe; Raven, who obeyed the tribe and, in doing so, garnered enough of their favor to even eventually become leader, can't understand why Qrow can't just be "good", earn respect, and stay

This dissonance between the two experiences may also be completely intentional on the part of the tribe; abusers will often eliminate their targets' support systems in order to make them completely reliant on the abuser, so it's highly likely that the wedge was intentionally driven between the two siblings so that they could not find support in one another. This would also tie into why the twins seem to feel excluded from one another's lives and abandoned by one another: bcus they were made to feel that way by their common abusers, and did nothing to challenge these assumptions bcus they saw no reason to — and only seemed to keep proving one another right if they did

Which rly has some disturbing implications about how the Branwen tribe works. Like, do they just pick orphaned kids up off the street and abuse them into being perfect little bandits, molded to be of the greatest possible use and discarded if they're deemed worthless? Plus Qrow says his Semblance is how he got his name, which implies that the tribe also renames the kids they scoop up (possibly as a form of control or a way to make sure they can't be tracked down by any remaining family)? Plus there's the whole thing where Qrow and Raven were originally sent to Beacon to learn how to kill Huntsmen, which carries with it the implication that the Branwen tribe grooms literal orphan children into becoming stone-hearted murderers? What. The heck.

And if I'm right, if the Branwen tribe is that severely abusive, then like... wow, no wonder Qrow and Raven are Like That. They're both very deeply hurt people expressing it in different ways

I was considering adding their conversation at the Battle of Haven to this post, but I think that would be better as its own thing. Also I haven't gotten there on my rewatch yet so I may miss some details if I try to analyze it rn; it's better to wait overall methinks

But I have reached the point of my rewatch where we see Weiss and Whitley interact, and I think it would be very efficient to sum up what Qrow and Raven's relationship seems to be by using those siblings as a point of reference. Qrow = Weiss, actively trying to break free from and fight back against their abusers in different ways, while Raven = Whitley, continuing to do as their abusers want and have wanted as a method of self-preservation. Only, unlike Weiss and Whitley, Qrow and Raven have yet to come to a point where they can understand one another. I think that's a good way to briefly summarize the uh. Absolutely massive post this is.

In conclusion, I may have cracked the majority of the Branwen twins' pre-Beacon backstory purely by hyperanalyzing a single conversation. Oopsies

Regulus screamed internally, putting back the book he was 'skimming' through, and left the library, walking quickly into the Slytherin common room and carefully lifting up the couch cushion, taking out the secret journal he'd been keeping there since his first year.

Flipping to the next page, he listed the date, then began to write carefully, his mind exploding with thoughts.

God, I am such an idiot. I went out to the library because I spotted James inside, but then I found out that they were talking about Lily Evans. Who is she?? James likes her, too...I feel completely sick.

Just then, Regulus stopped writing, realizing that he had promised himself not to write about James...just in case anyone could find his pocket of thoughts.

He set down the pen and put back the couch cushion, sitting down on the couch and staring at the chandelier, internally screeching. Again. He really needed a better outlet, but since the journal needed to stay completely 'picture perfect' in case someone were to find it, it was off limits.

Regulus kept thinking, yelling at himself. Why, out of anyone to fall for, did it have to be James? He needed to go through the list in his head again, so he started to think.

First of all: James was Sirius's friend. If Sirius found out that his little brother had a crush on James, all hell would break loose.

Secondly: Clearly, Regulus would never be James's type. Lily Evans was beautiful, sassy, with striking green eyes and red hair. She was the perfect height, and most importantly, she was not some random boy. Meanwhile, Regulus considered himself ugly, stubborn, and absolutely not pretty the way Lily Evans was.

Regulus couldn't believe he'd fallen for them. He felt so stupid.

After all, James liked a girl.

I'm so looking forward to iroh and zuko properly talking and seeing irohs reaction to zuko being gay.

Like we all know he doesn't agree with the fire nation rn but how will he react?

Will he not support him cause sokkas a guy? Will he not support him because it's SOKKA? Will he accept him? Will he reveal he's known for years zuko was gay?

Especially with everything that happened with zhao, regarding to what jee said to bato on their date. (Which is a very understandable perspective, zuko just got out of this very sexually traumatising situation and almost immediately starts a relationship (his first relationship) with sokka, but then again it is a very unique situation)

One thing I love about some atla fics is how they portray the FNs thoughts on queerness, cause on one hand they were one of the only country's (I think) that treated men and women the same but then again it's also the fucking fire nation.

And I also think zukos whole canon arc can be very comparative to queerness,

His dads an asshole and after speaking out against him he throws him out, and zuko try's for 3 years to regain his father's love and acceptance, and then faced with the opportunity of regaining it takes it immediately regardless of who or what he may hurt (iroh, his own morals etc) but once he makes it back home realises how fucked up everything is and eventually confronts his dad and openly tells him he doesn't agree with him then runs aways.

I also wonder if iroh secretly knows jee is queer it doesn't seem that likely to me but it also is iroh so who knows.

I do think Iroh’s reaction will be a big moment for not only the story but for Zuko’s character development. Right now, Zuko’s technically still a prisoner, holding himself there by assuming Iroh will not understand or judge him when in reality he’ll never know what his uncle is thinking until they TALK ABOUT IT. (Which the FN royal family is just sooo good at healthy communication I don’t understand why this is so hard for them lol?!)

I do agree that the suddenness of the relationship combined with the intensity from both zuko and Sokka is very alarming for people looking at it from the outside (I mean we all totally get it cause we were there but others are like uhhhh hmmmm ok this might be concerning) so I get them gossiping and wondering if this is truly real or what the fucks going on with those boys.

I love Zukos canon arc because there’s just so much about zukos story that can be relatable no matter who you are and I think that’s why he is a fan favorite (it doesn’t explain why we torture him the way we do but ehhhh it’s fine haha)

Suguru takes a step back, but continues keeping a close eye on the mysterious woman - what an interesting situation this is. The sheer amount of cursed energy he could sense from her was in itself a spectacle, so much that it seemed like her body couldn't contain it all, given how much she radiated even when she didn't appear to be actively using a technique. She had to at least be a grade one just by virtue of sheer power, possibly even a special-grade - an extremely rare find. His mind is already working to wrap around the concept, figure out a way to use this to his advantage ( imagine if there were two special-grades on his side of the war, who could stop them? ) but he tries not to get ahead of himself. The state she's in is unstable, unpredictable, like a cornered animal - injured, he suspects, though he can't tell exactly what's wrong with how she's hiding it. Even the strongest can still be vulnerable, huh? No amount of cursed energy can truly guarantee safety. Caught off-guard, he assumes.

He puts his hands up in a show of surrender, though he's ready to use his technique to defend himself at any moment if things go south, keeping his distance but trying to present himself as a non-threat. "I won't touch you. I'm not here to hurt you- I'm here to collect a curse, that's all." He assures, keeping his voice calm despite the curiosity that nags at him - he can get the answers he wants later if he just does this right. "You're all shaken up. What happened here?" He'd initially come here to exorcise a powerful cursed spirit, the ball of cursed energy still tucked into the sleeve of his robe, ready to absorb - was that what got her? Had she come to exorcise it as well? He'd seen some dead monkeys around too, initially assuming they were mere victims of the curse, but the only thing he can be sure of right now is his own ability to defend himself if it came down to it.

i used to think i wouldnt get upset about how other people mischaracterize answer since he's not popular enough and doesnt have enough to work with for it to be much of a problem, it means most interpretations of him are not really disputable, and very few people talk about him anyway

that is until i see how people portray his relationship with chipp. it feels like most people get it even if they know little about them but some people make it out like answer fucking hates chipp and his job and wishes he could leave

he works for chipp willingly! the reason given for him following chipp is he "fell in love with/fell under the sway of his charisma". he also has "his current way of life" listed as something he likes. he doesn't hate his job, he gets stressed out from taking on too much of a workload and at how he's treated by the people he has to deal with (he has to endure a lot of verbal abuse in his phone calls, you know how it is if you've ever had to deal with calls for your job lol) and he definitely does not hate chipp, aside from when they first met.

though the details are extremely vague, answer having immense guilt about his past was considered so important to his character that his quote about it was included in his reveal trailer. chipp found him at a low point and gave him an opportunity to start a new life* and improve himself and atone, something he absolutely needed and still canonically wants. why would he hate him for that?

chipp also isn't just his boss, he's his mentor, and though it's debatable i would argue his friend too. he shows some amount of admiration and respect for him even though it's sometimes begrudgingly and he gets frustrated with him often. even disregarding threatening to kill bedman since you could write that off as the chief of staff's reasonable reaction to his country's leader getting potentially killed, the most emotion he has shown by far was when he thought chipp was going to die

tldr; he cares about chipp he just wants to drop a cartoon anvil on his head sometimes. understanding that it's both is necessary *I do not mean by giving him a job btw. chipp is to answer essentially what tsuyoshi was to him. (narratively speaking, minus the father figure aspect.)

There were always toxic fans. You knew that, and Kayn of course knew his fanbase were sometimes as batshit insane as him. But the past few weeks were great! Social media was abuzz with positive comments about you two, fans congratulated you at fanmeets praising how cute you looked with Kayn.

Everything pointed towards how the fanbase took the official announcement of you two dating well but of course, you know delusional, parasocial fans existed too.

What you don’t know, was how they got past security.

You don’t know how they sneaked past all the checks and stage tests.

Maybe it was on you, maybe you were training too hard and were too tired to notice.

Maybe the high of performing live on stage and all the bits and bops of things to do left it so you didn’t notice the creak of the bright lights above you. The lights in the same pink purple hues of Kayn’s hair. The last thing you remember was the crackle of lights, the screams of your fans, and all your band mates in a blur dashing towards you.

It was arguably just as bad for Kayn.

Sure he wasn’t there, he wasn’t injured, he wasn’t the target of the attack nor was he the one in the hospital but there was nothing worse than hearing that you were still out cold, uncertain of how hurt you actually were.

There was nothing worse really, seeing the clips circulating online of what happened being reposted by all sorts of accounts. The blood that flowed from you onto the stage, oh god he didn’t even know humans could bleed this much.

There was nothing worse than knowing that he was stuck on tour and couldn’t be by your side.

There was nothing worse than not being able to call you and check on you because according to Akali you were STILL in the ER right now, you’re still unconscious and the doctors have no updates. How! It has been at least 4 hours since your opening act. Since the incident.

There was nothing worse, than fighting with his bandmates and managers, begging to go back to be by your side, and only after Alune stood up for him saying how “ The Heartbeats would understand why Kayn was missing. Let him go or he would just sneak off at night and do it anyway.” That management allowed them to postpone their weekend show so he could book a midnight flight to you.

There was nothing worse, than sitting alone in the private airport lounge, checking socials for updates and finding out HIS fan was the one that was caught on CCTV being the perpetrator, the one that did this to you, the love of his life. They even wore a jacket with Rhaast’s icon sewn onto the back, almost mocking him. Sure you were the one physically hurt, but the way his emotions were all over the place, the way his heart refused to calm down, the way he haven’t felt so much like throwing up since he left his old band. He hated this.

Hands tightening around his already cracked phone, the only reason he hasn’t angrily thrown it against the wall was because Akali messaged him telling Kayn how you were stable now, you lived fine, you were still sleeping but you were out of surgery at least. He swallows hard, quickly picking up his small luggage as he runs over to the gate to board his plane. Kayn breathes heavy, only thoughts about being by your side when you wake up keep him walking and keep the absolute rage and chaos Rhaast has at bay. The flight couldn’t be any longer to him.

He ran, the second the Taxi dropped him off at the hospital he phased through walls and booked it straight up to your room, leaving Akali to sigh as she signs him in. The way his hands shook as he slowly opened the door to your ward. Feeling like it was somehow rude to phase through this one way although one, you were still unconscious and two he already violated the privacy of half the hospital.

“ My little demon…This is all my fault.”

Kayn slowly walked to your side after he steps in, watching and noting how you had your eye patched up, how bandages trailed down your body, how pale your skin was. He was going to throw up again, seeing you this way. Ahri who was in the room watching over you let him know you could still see of course, and nothing plastic surgery can’t fix about the scars. You would be fine after a week or two of rest. The shards of glass from the strobe lights missed all the important bits, only scratching up your brow, cheek and collar. Ahri offers Kayn a small sad smile before leaving to give him time with you. The other girls in K/DA has some cuts and bruises saving your from the falling light but otherwise were fine.

It was another hour of your steady breathing and the beeping of machines around him. To Kayn, it felt like hours. Inconsolable hours where his thoughts went wild. Rhaast kept at bay from trashing the place solely from how weak and shaky your breathing was. So when the beeping finally started to pick up Kayn was standing up, hand holding yours, calling out to you frantic and concerned as you slowly blinked and opened your eyes.

“ Oh my god you’re finally awake baby.”

You watched your boyfriend cry, silent tears falling as he spoke over and over about how he should have curated his audience more, warned them to not pull shit like this to you. Anger about how could his “obsessive fans” not know that hurting you would hurt him just as much. Frustration about not being in the audience this time to save you. Sorrow about seeing how much pain you were in right now because of him. Anger once again from Rhaast this time about how incompetent your security was for letting a mistake like this go unnoticed and finally…overwhelming relief that you were ultimately ok. It was new, seeing him so scared, so worried, no doubt all of these emotions were because of just how much Kayn loved you but still, you felt bad making him worry so much. Finally he updates you, telling you about what happened, how you would be ok, he would make sure of it.

“ I…I’m sorry you had to go through this because of me. If you want to leave me because of my fans I will totally understand.”

You watched his voice crack as his hand grasps yours tighter. Your lover’s brows furrowed as he thinks hard. Biting his lip so hard you could almost see it bleed.

“ No Kayn! I would never! It’s not your fault. None of it was your fault, my own crazy fans could have done this to me too y’know. Plus if I breakup with you, they totally won.”

You reply, throat a little dry from not speaking so long but you had to tell him. No way you’re letting some insane fan ruin your performance, your day and your relationship. You watch him finally smile a little as you speak, the corners of his lips barely curving, tears stopping at your frantic attempts to make sure he knows just how much you love him back. No way in hell or heaven would you give up what you have with him because of some lunatic. Especially after seeing just how much he loved you, flying here for you? Putting his work behind for You? How could you let this man go.

“ Hey, at least we can get matching eyepatches now?”

At your comment, he lets out an exasperated laugh.

" I’m sorry, I should be the one making you feel better not the other way around. Here.”

You watch as Kayn slips a finger under his eyepatch, pulling it off carefully before bending down to give your bandaged side a small kiss. Hands uncharacteristically gentle as they worked their way around your hair and all the gauze to put his eyepatch on you. Giving you another quick kiss on your lips before pulling away.

" Looking good darling."

" Only because you style me so well!"

Yeah, it will be ok, the two of you were motivated, hardworking idols, a setback like this meant nothing. As he smiles again at you, the signature cheeky, prideful smile you’ve come to love from him. Your heart flutters. Yeah, something like this won’t stop you from loving him.

What’s the biggest emotional gut punch you’ve ever gotten from a show?

AHH i wish i had a good answer for this but i havent watched a lot of shows lately and im wracking my brain to remember if i had a strong reaction like that to anything i've watched in the past... ive def watched sad stuff that hit me in the heart but not enough to feel like a gut punch......

BAHA ok this gonna sound predictable but fr when i got to the end of volume 10 of trigun maximum i stopped reading for a couple of days LMFAOO T_T maybe even a week. i just reread that same chapter over and over again for a while lol

i think the only archangel that wouldn't be surprised by the development would be uriel - there was a lot of information on hell that was censored, including the initial set of fallen angels, but subsequent falls weren't so thoroughly stricken from the record. so he does have a bit of insight into their biology, and he would be aware especially of surface level changes (this information was made available as threats essentially, so show that angels become no better than hell mass when they fall). nevertheless he finds it interesting, as i doubt he was allowed to know all of the specifics, and he can instantly see the stone that makes up gabriel's body is far different in its composition from hell mass. he would absolutely participate with v1's identification process, but because of uriel's vast knowledge, he would almost instantly know each and every fossil - so he lets v1 guess based on its research, and then lets it know if it's correct (gabe feels like a museum exhibit)

raphael, truthfully, is a little put off by it though he does feel guilt for that. i just really think he's instinctively fearful of hell entities since he was never really meant to interact with them nor has he ever really had to, so gabriel's stone skin is a bit shocking for him. he can see an aesthetic appeal to it and i think he would slowly come around on it, but at first it's just too strange (plus he believes it seems a bit painful, given how gabriel's cracked the stone around his joints). michael is, predictably, disgusted by the demonic form in all its guises, and he greatly pities gabriel having to be anything like them. however...he also struggles feeling paradoxical envy at gabriel's successful fall, and there's something very appealing about a marble-like casing to someone whose skin is falling away more every day. in some ways, to him, gabriel's physical form has become incorruptible, preserved in stone and ice, and as much as he consciously rejects it, he actually wishes he could have that. he sees what falling fully looks like now, and he prefers it to this (especially observing gabe up close to see all of god's little creatures inset into his skin....if only he had gotten it right.)
