This is what I want to see. After saving the world, Aloy decided to give Erend a chance. Their relationship developed without rush, very slowly.

He started to believe in himself, decided to limit his drinking and continued to support Aloy with everything she planned.

Aloy realized that she still felt empty after saving the world, but Erend was a person who understood this feeling perfectly well. She had known him for many years and trusted him. She decided to involve him in her plans and stopped traveling alone.

It was very long process, but both of them finally started to look at each other in different way - with more trust, gratefulness and finally with love.

Erend was gentle at first, not wanting to scare or hurt Aloy. She was grateful for that. But as their relationship developed, they both became more and more passionate.

When Aloy realized she was pregnant, she panicked, but Erend calm her down and said there was nothing to be afraid of.

"Our baby is special, because it's your blood. Aloy, this baby is the future for the world, for another generation."

And he was right. Their daughter, named Ersa, was a reason for Aloy to live. Aloy decided to be a mother who gives her child great love, protection and care. She was not alone, she had a beloved Erend who was with her in her fights, hunts and in life. She had a daughter, blood of her blood. A daughter, who was the beginning. A descendant of future generations.

i have such a love for characters who descend into madness or villainy out of deep, deep empathy. characters who fundamentally cannot cope with the cruel realities they find themselves in and blow up about it in spectacular fashion. fallen angel type characters with tears of outrage in their eyes. characters who break before they bend, and break so badly they splatter blood all over their noble ideals. every variation on it gets me so good
