Item 1: A heavy backpack full of amethyst This backpack is dyed a bright orange with blue accents and is filled with two stacks of amethyst. Basic diamond mining tools were also found inside the pack, along with three stacks of torches.

Item 2: A necklace of animal teeth This necklace appears to be made out of the teeth of several Ravagers and is painted with intricate spiraled patterns.

Item 3: A pile of shoelaces with frayed ends These shoelaces appear to have been made a few years ago and were found in a small pouch. They come in several bright colors and are very short, as if they were made for children’s sneakers. There were no aglets on these shoelaces and the ends are very frayed.

Item 4: A box of pavement chalk This box of chalk was found in the Shopping District next to a series of chalk drawings lining the paths. These drawings resemble large chasms, out of which are bursting colorful lightning bolts. There are also several circles, inside of which are written, “Bad Luck Spot.”

Item 5: A pack of playing cards This pack of cards was found near Grian’s rocks and is designed with characters from several 1980s arcade games. They were found scattered in the area.

Item 6: A necklace with a locket This was found in the woods and gave the finder an electric shock when they attempted to open it. There is a distant ticking sound coming from it and an engraving on the back, written in galactic. Half of the engraving is scratched off. The finder suggests taking it as far as possible or finding a way to destroy it completely.

Item 7: A set of tools and weapons in an overgrown box This set includes a sword with Riptide 3, an axe with Feather Falling 2, a pickaxe with Blast Protection 3, a bow with Thorns 5, a shovel with Aqua Affinity, a fishing rod with Flame, and shears with Swift Sneak 3 and Soul Speed 2.

Item 8: A life-sized crocheted office printer plush Stuffed with cotton, it is scented like that of a fresh book. The finder believes whoever made this took “Your workplace is your home,” quite literally.

Item 9: A shipment of merchandise to be released This was found via a motorcycle delivery driver crashing into someone’s garden. The items include subtly designed Warden hoodies, frosty mugs resembling frozen shards, Collector’s Edition Decked Out 2 Cards, relic charms, and two dozen shirts that say, “I survived the burning dark and all I got was this lousy t-shirt,” with one of the dozen being colored to resemble a Ravager and the other colored like that of a Warden. The apparels are made with moderately thick fabric, making them ideal for both warm and cool weather.

Item 10: An indestructible 25-ounce goose-shaped mug This goose-shaped mug depicts the goose’s neck as the handle. It says, “FLIGHT, FRIGHT, FIGHT!” in the font of Another Danger by The Branded Quotes, written in vibrant red letters. It has Unbreaking 5 and Mending. It has been dropped eight times on the finder’s way to the office and not a single chip or dent has formed.

i had to double check that this was the right show after the minute-long doughnut love scene. i'm not even kidding it's shot like a love (bed) scene -- the music, the lighting, the imagery, the cuts. showing marcus outside of it is a huge indication of his arc and eventually where he's gonna end up -- making desserts for carmy and the restaurant in the short run, but i wouldn't be surprised if by the end of the series he's going on to study patisserie for real and/or opening his own place. thrilled about this, let's go

i didn't mention it last episode, but the direction for carmy/choices by his actor are Incredibly interesting as it relates to physical violence. the second he even gets shoved he resorts to throwing fists -- dunno if this is later in the season, season 2, something that'll be resolved later, (or just me blowin smoke,) but it points to a history of physical abuse (whether familially or in the workplace, who's to say)

Hello, what are your headcanons for the Heroes birthdays? And or their zodiac sign (if you’re in that)? I’ve seen people give different answers (like January or April for Hogan) and was curious to know your own opinions!

Thanks so much for the ask, I’ve been looking forward to answering this!! (and sorry it took so long) I’ve been thinking about this ever since I first started watching the show, and your question finally got me to sit down to sort out all of my thoughts. 😂 This is what I’m gonna do: list a birth date, birth year, age in 1942 (since that’s the year we’re given in the pilot), zodiac sign, and my reasoning for all of the above since I don’t wanna just give you random dates and years with no explanation, I’d like to show y'all how I got there lol. I’m not super into zodiac and astrology stuff, but since we’re not really given any information for birth dates I figured I’d use characteristics from different zodiac signs to narrow it down. Besides, it was kinda fun to look at the traits and see what matched who. I’m no expert in astrology, though. All of this was from a quick web search of traits so take that for what you will.

I listed these in the order from who I thought was the oldest to the youngest. So Hogan would be the oldest, followed by Kinch, LeBeau, Newkirk, and then Carter would be the youngest imo. This is certainly gonna be way more than you asked for, so sorry in advance. I got excited.😂 Side note: I did not use any of the actor’s real ages and I didn't take them into consideration, and I may have missed some actual canon details that point to a more accurate birth date/year. I originally was like “none of the heroes are under 25” because I wanted them all to be fairly close in age, and I could only make Hogan so young and still be reasonable. But the more I thought about it, the more I started to not like that hc because they’re a very diverse team. These guys all come from different countries or states, and they come from all walks of life., so it makes sense for that diversity to extend to their age range. Therefore, I ended up going a different route with that. (I’m just clarifying that here because I’ve discussed this with some friends before, and I’ve since changed my ideas on it.)

Anywho (as if that intro wasn’t long enough) presenting the actual hcs now! (and quick shout out to @frau-wilhelm-klink for beta reading this for me :D)

Hogan

Birth date: April 11

Birth year: 1907-1908

Age in 1942: 34-35

Zodiac: Aries for sure. I mean, look at some of these traits:

Plus this quote I found: “The first sign of the zodiac, Aries loves to be number one. Naturally, this dynamic fire sign is no stranger to competition. Bold and ambitious, Aries dives headfirst into even the most challenging situations—and they'll make sure they always come out on top!” After reading all of this, you can’t tell me Hogan’s not an Aries.😂

Reasoning: Considering Hogan lists so many places that he’s lived or been to (like Connecticut, Ohio, Wisconsin, Chicago, and Indianapolis off the top of my head) I assume that he was probably a military brat, and I can see that playing a role in him joining the military before WW2 started. He probably went to university and did ROTC - you have to have a bachelor’s degree to be an officer - before graduating and joining the service as a second lieutenant. If we say he graduated high school at 18, then graduated college at 22, this would put us at the year 1929 - 1930. That gives us a little over 10 years for him to rise up in rank by the time the US becomes involved in the war. But he’s definitely a colonel by the time the US steps in…or has just become one, at any rate. Colonels were the ones you usually saw leading your bomber squadrons (and we know he commanded the 504th until he was shot down, although I do think it’s kinda humorous that the actual 504th was in the Pacific during the war). I think that about covers it.

Obviously, the requirements are different for becoming a colonel nowadays. (Until the signing of the National Defense Authorization Act of 2019, an officer was required to have 22 years of cumulative service and be a lieutenant colonel for a minimum of 3 years.) However, it’s implied in the show that Hogan was young for a colonel. Some of those promotions could have come after the war had started where promotions were occuring a lot faster than normal. (From second lieutenant the ranks go as follows: first lieutenant, captain, major, lieutenant colonel, then colonel. Now I realize that’s five ranks to jump in the span of 11-12 years…but some of those promotions could have come after the war had started where, like I said before, people rose up in rank very quickly.)

As for the April birthdate, in the episode “Hogan Gives A Birthday Party” Biedenbender asks Klink if he’s prepared for a birthday. Klink (being confused) says something along the lines of, “Oh, of course! We’ve been preparing for months…wait, do you mean the Führer’s birthday?” I’m assuming Hitler’s birthday - which was on April 20th - was coming up, so I just went with a date that was a bit before that point.

Kinch

Birth date: August 30

Birth year: 1911-1912

Age in 1942: 30-31

Zodiac: Virgo, and here are the traits that make me think that:

Intelligence

Analytical mind

Modest (shy (okay maybe not necessarily shy, but quiet) and humble)

Reliability 

Patience 

Here's a couple of quotes I think represent his Virgo traits as well: “Smart, sophisticated, and kind, Virgo gets the job done without complaining.” and “You're funny. You don't always let your humor shine through, but anyone who knows you well is totally aware that you can make people collapse in laughter. Your wry sense of humor and sharp observation skills can't be beat.”

Reasoning: I made Kinch the second oldest because of his position as second-in-command (so Carter outranking him and not being in this position makes sense if Carter is younger, but I’ll elaborate on that later when I get to Carter.) It also makes sense because of his relationship with Hogan. Obviously being close in age isn’t the only factor in a friendship (heck, most of my friends are 10+ years older than me) but I’ll also elaborate more on this when I get to LeBeau. Kinch is also extremely level headed (for sure the only sane man in Stalag 13 + the keeper of the brain cell) so he’s either very mature for his age, or he’s a little older than the other guys (which I’ve obviously gone with the second option). He’s always come off as way more mature than the rest of the heroes, and he’s obviously someone Hogan trusts (not that Hogan doesn’t trust the other guys, you can just tell it’s a different kind of trust with Kinch), and I think that partially has to do with them being closer in age (which is another reason I made Hogan a little younger than most people hc). In “Is General Hammerschlag Burning?” where he meets up with a girl he went to high school with, it’s implied it’s been a while since he’s graduated so I also took that into consideration. Considering that he’s worked at the phone company and has done some boxing, I feel like this gives him enough time to have done some of this stuff between graduating and joining the military/being drafted into the military, if that makes sense. I went with August 30 because it falls within the dates for a Virgo. Also - and I don’t know why - Kinch just gives me August vibes.😂

LeBeau

Birth date: July 28

Birth year: 1914

Age in 1942: 28

Zodiac: Leo + traits that I think suit him:

Pride

Passion

Vivacity

Protective

Stubborn

Plus this quote: “Roll out the red carpet because Leo has arrived. Passionate, loyal, and infamously dramatic, Leo is represented by the lion. These spirited fire signs are the kings and queens of the celestial jungle. They're delighted to embrace their royal status: Vivacious, theatrical, and fiery…” I wouldn’t say he’s super self-centered though.

Reasoning: I do not know why, but there was a tiny voice in the back of my head just screaming 28 when I was trying to determine how old LeBeau might be 😂 so here we are. But the more I thought about it, it kinda actually works out, and here’s why: LeBeau is at that cusp of being mature but also not. Like one second he seems somewhat put together, and then the next he’s arguing with Carter and Newkirk like they’re teenagers (and it’s hilarious). Now I’d like to clarify something before I say this next bit: I am not implying that LeBeau has no friends on the team or that he is unloved. Anyway, we see Hogan and Kinch are pretty close and that Carter and Newkirk are the same way. LeBeau’s close with everybody, so putting him in the middle makes the most sense to me because he can relate to the older members of the team, as well as the younger. 

Other factors I considered are that he’s a very good cook, so I tried to give him enough time to have experience in the kitchen. He also mentions what appears to be a forced marriage (I don’t remember the episode it was from, but someone gets volunteered for something by Hogan and LeBeau makes a comment about how he got married the same way). This marriage could have very well been a situation where a girl LeBeau was seeing ended up pregnant, so considering the time period, it was natural that they got married. To me, this hints that LeBeau wasn’t ready to settle down and have a family. But then we see how he interacts with Wilhelmina in “LeBeau and the Little Old Lady” and you can tell that he really cares for her. (Considering this is towards the end of season 3, LeBeau would be in his early 30s) so now it seems like he is ready for that type of commitment. This is why I put LeBeau in his late twenties, because he seems to be close to growing into himself (for lack of a better term), but he still acts like a kid sometimes (affectionate lol). Obviously age isn’t the only factor in determining somebody’s maturity - that's not what I’m trying to imply at all. But for the sake of making it easier to determine a possible age for LeBeau, it's the route I took.

Newkirk

Birth date: November 1

Birth year: 1918

Age in 1942: 24

Zodiac: Scorpio, and corresponding traits:

I thought it was so funny that listed under best careers for a Scorpio is “con artist” 😂 Also, here’s a couple of quotes that I thought fit him as well. “Scorpio tries so hard to seem tough that they sometimes cut off their vulnerable side entirely, seeming prickly, uncaring, and cold to outsiders. While expressing emotion is scary, learning how to do it is key for Scorpio, since presenting an "I don't care" veneer can only work for so long before it gets exhausting!” and “If a Scorpio is committed to someone or something, they stick with it. Their trust is hard to earn, but once they do trust someone, they dedicate their whole self to that person, and apply their classic determination to stand by friends, family, and partners.” I love how the last one could apply to Hogan, especially considering he was an officer (I kinda like to think that Newkirk and Carter would be fast friends though, which came as a surprise to Newkirk).

Reasoning: If y'all haven’t noticed, Newkirk’s impulse control is zero. I’m pretty sure the only reason he hasn’t killed anyone is because of Hogan. Hogan seems to have some of the same characteristics as Newkirk, but Hogan’s older and has learned to control himself a bit more. That’s partially why I hc Newkirk as being one of the younger heroes. Also - and I mean this affectionately - but just look at his friendship with Carter. Yeah, it’s a grumpy x sunshine pairing, but they’re both absolute goofballs. And have you ever noticed how sometimes the other guys would get on them for not doing their job well? I mean, maybe that’s cuz they were the two youngest of the group. Sure, Newkirk gives it right back to them, but I don’t think he ever starts it with anyone besides LeBeau, who would be the closest in age to him out of the older heroes in my hc. (I’d just like to clarify now that I do not condone the bullying that started to pick up in the later seasons. It was so out of character and I hated it…but that’s a discussion for another time and place.)

I feel like putting Newkirk at 24 also gives him time to kinda build his career as an entertainer. I hc him leaving home at around 16 and leaving to join the circus (putting us at the year 1934). Say he spends a couple of years there, and eventually ends up going solo and starts working as a magician, putting us roughly in the year 1936-1937. Now obviously he’s gotten really good at sleight of hand by this point, and he starts building up his career as a magician. He even starts dating a fan dancer. By the time the war starts in 1939, Newkirk was probably fairly well established, which leads me to believe he’d be drafted rather than joining voluntarily (which, being 20 going on 21 in 1939, is inevitable). 

Carter

Birth date: March 19

Birth year: 1919

Age in 1942: 23

Zodiac: Pisces + traits I think suit him

A couple of quotes: “Have you ever met someone who was sensitive and dreamy, and maybe their head was a little too stuck up in the clouds?” I wouldn’t say he’s always stuck up in the clouds, but he does have his moments. “Pisces is a very friendly sign, often finding themselves in the company of diverse people. They are selfless and always willing to help others.”

Reasoning: First off, please don’t come after me for making Carter the youngest. I am not trying to infantilize him. I mean Carter’s still out here talking about his sweetheart, and he was getting ready to potentially start a career as a pharmacist. To me, it indicates he’s one of the younger ones on the team because he’s basically just getting started. Hogan also makes a comment directed towards Carter in “The Purchasing Plan” referring to him as “cub scout”, so I also take that as a hint that he’s probably pretty young. Also mentioned in “The Purchasing Plan” is Carter going to business school, so I gave him four years for that (which if he graduated high school at 18, that would put him at 22 when he graduated from business school). Once he was out of school (assuming he graduated in May), this would give him about seven-ish months before the US became involved in WW2. (I know he ran a drug store, but he could’ve been working while he was in school too). 

Carter being younger than Kinch - yet being above him in rank - would explain why Kinch is seen as Hogan’s second-in-command. It would also explain why Newkirk often refers to him as Andrew or Carter, even though he also outranks him. (I also made them only one year apart, and they’re pretty good friends). I don’t think this is a sign of disrespect or underestimation, as Carter is still an important part of the core team of heroes, but it’s understandable that Hogan would want someone a little older in that position. Again, considering how a lot of people were being promoted quickly because there was a need for officers and NCOs, it’s very likely Carter was able to prove himself capable and quickly climb the ranks, even though he’s fairly young. Carter is also a bit naive at times and very much still figuring some stuff out. (I don’t mean this in a bad way, that’s just how it is in your early 20s.)  I like to think the several instances of him calling Hogan "boy", then correcting himself in a couple of seconds by  saying "sir" instead is a good example of this.😂

Enjoying how this drama started with a sex scene and then withholds more sexual intimacy while showing how much a relationship & trust can be slowly built by actions and gestures of affection. I love a 'typical romance arc in reverse'.

I saw commenters at MDL and elsewhere saying actor who plays Jim is too young to play 39. But bro, (a) somehow it's also ok for a 23 year old to play a high school student - acting! and (b) I know people at 35 who could pass for 45 and visa versa. Everyone's body ages differently. I can completely buy him as on the cusp of 40. 40 isn't dead! One of my friends is 44 and hits the club near every weekend. I swear some of these kids just don't know anyone over 25. When was in my 30s I already had divorced friends who were tired af and felt old. Let people in their 30s, 40s, and 50s both live like they're in their 20s some days and other days complain about being old as dirt. We contain multitudes, I promise.

Ep 2

hot young One Night Stand shows up to for real pretend work at the chicken rice shop until this man falls in love with him. There is no orgasm grand enough to make me work food service when I don't have to. I would call it insane behavior except that, note, i watched the night they met 3 times and sexual tension & quiet intimacy of it is HAUNTING ME and I only saw snippets of it on tv screen. so. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(well, kids. I had a life changing moment of intimacy with a stranger one night and now he keeps hovering around under shakey pretexts because he knows that I know that he wants me to give us a chance and I'm scared out of my mind and have 199 tons of baggage but he's so hot and he looks at me like I could be his whole world, if only I'd let him in. so i let him wait tables at night to be close to me while I struggle not to crumble under internalized homophobia and the weight of my debts, because capitalism. ADULT STUFF.)

I really like the set up for this couple. 1st episode shows their instant connection, how they're drawn together and find comfort in each other's presence. Then 2nd episode show us the gap that would have to be closed: what Wen dreams of is beautiful but also simple - making a home with someone, a place where he can rest and not feel the weight of the day. He clearly feels that Jim is the right person to do this with him. When Jim gently rejects him, he responds ok, I'm not the right person for you. But Jim is trapped in the bottom of Maslow's triangle. His dream is to get out from under his debt, keep his house, and fund his nephew's education. He doesn't see any space for love in there. It has nothing to do with the right person. Which is why he can't make himself fully turn Wen away. He cautions him that he can't be a home for anyone; he's not qualified to be any such thing for Wen. But deep down he clearly wants it. He wants Wen to prove him wrong somehow.

Ep 3

Wen actually working his real job! Doing... something idk some product management or city planning etc. He found out his dream man is about to be crushed under the boot of capitalism and he has to make presentations about the ROI. 😢

He keeps witnessing how important this incredibly hot man is to the community and it's making him yearn even harder.

and we get the ghost of boyfriends past! Past Boyfriend of Jim is the one who helped him start the chicken rice buisness. And promised never to leave him! oh nooooooo the chicken rice buisness was PROOF OF THEIR (DOOMED) LOVE 💀

They had a cat and a shop and a happy home. And now Jim is all alone. Oh, because his man was a cheater. 😱

The fact that he confesses the story to Wen though - he wants babygirl to understand why he can't do this, but the openness and communication is just making it more and more clear why Wen knows he has a chance and why they do work. Wen is late 20's uni graduate with a job and he doesn't feel virginal or hapless or ignorant at all. He has his own insights and Jim legitimately is interested in hearing his thoughts & advice. The drama seems pretty thoughtful about portraying a relationship between 2 people who are from different generations of the queer community.

Mornings were probably her second least favourite time of day.

Or, more specifically, school mornings were evil incarnate, which she figured most of her peers would agree with that statement. Symphora wasn’t necessarily a late-riser naturally, rather, she actually quite enjoyed rising at a fairly decent hour, but 05:55 was most definitely indecent, especially considering she went to bed around 01:30 (to be honest, she didn’t really remember when she fell asleep, just that she did so at her desk after repeatedly cursing the existence of organic chemistry).

Like every morning, it was a calculated show of misery to get ready – she would stare at the ceiling or wall and mull over her chances of feigning sick and staying home (it was always nil, she could never fool her father) until no later than 06:05, be tidied up and presentable to leave the house by 06:35, finish breakfast by 06:50, and be in the car by 06:55, never a minute later, but sometimes a minute sooner.

The ride to school was usually the first time she got a good look at her phone, and like every Friday morning, the dozens of unread messages filled her with a mix of horror, dread, and mild resentment. Thursday nights were always the wildest, as everyone collectively lost their mind in anticipation for the weekend, and in the sheer chaos of turning the group chat into a live watch party for whatever shows aired that day (every year, it seemed that Thursdays always had the craziest shows). Her head against the car window, she inhaled deeply, mentally preparing herself for the deluge of the previous night’s. She had muted her phone after 23:00, having grown rather annoyed at the incessant ping of messages, and left her phone on the chat while she ignored it all.

She kept trying to scroll to the top, but gave up after a couple of seconds. Whatever she missed yesterday would probably find its way back to her, whether she wanted it to or not.

Having caught up to the messages, she turned her attention to outside the window, idly glancing down at the weather widget before looking back at the still-dark sky.

Weather in the colonies was always accurate, not surprising since it was completely controlled – from the temperature outside, to the humidity, sunrise and sundown, the wind, and so on. On Caelus, it was all carefully calculated to mimic a continental climate in the northern hemisphere of Earth – so today, the temperature sat at -5.2 Celsius, with 60% humidity, a 6 km westerly wind, and no precipitation. The ground was already covered in a light layer of snow, all to give the impression of a genuine and idealized late winter day.

The climate of the colonies was always an interesting bit of trivia that caught her attention. Caelus, Aeternitas, Providentia, Libertas – colonies directly founded and controlled by the state (or closely associated corporations and families, like Nova Futura Holdings or the Concord-BINDRAS Group) preferred humid continental climates (though it was never very humid due to technical concerns) and were insistent on maintaining four clear seasons; the agricultural colonies of Abundantia and Pomona maintained subtropical climates year-round to maximize crop production, and the other colonies all reflected the ideals of their sponsors. Lemures, for example, had a cold desert climate for the protection of the delicate machinery and equipment that were kept and tested there.

“We’re here, so get out.”

Symphora glanced up from her phone. “Hey, I thought you were going to be professional today, Abraham.”

“Never said I’d commit to it. Now, get outta my car, squirt.”

“This isn’t even your car.”

“Yeah, well I’m the one with the license here.”

“I have the auto-drive permit.”

“Don’t you have school to go to?”

“It’s only ten past seven.”

Cato Abraham adjusted the rear-view mirror before dramatically rolling his eyes. Symphora often struggled to put a word to what he was in her life, something between her father’s protégé, his adjutant, a bodyguard, and something halfway between a babysitter and older brother figure. She met him first during her last year on Lemures – she was just on the cusp of turning seven, and he had graduated from the Concordian State Military Academy a year earlier than usual, and at the top of his class at just age nineteen. She always thought it a bit strange that someone like Abraham would accept something as boring as being a liaison officer for the military and S-V Industries, but he usually replied with something along the lines of, “Why should I work harder for less pay?”. On the surface, sure, it wasn’t a shabby position at all, but in reality, he acted more like her playmate than anything, and he never even seemed to mind, not when she was a child, and not now as a young adolescent.

“I’m not gonna have your dad on my ass about you being late.” The car door clicked open. “Go on, scurry out to meet your friends, kiddo.”

“Fine, old man.” She stuck her tongue out petulantly, grabbing her bag, only to almost immediately get accosted by Januaria, who dramatically flung an arm around her.

“Syma, why’d you turn off your phone last night? I can’t believe you missed our watch party!”

“Janny, I’m never at the watch party.”

“Ugh, you and Regulus are both the same. We even had Elli there, Syma! It was so much fun and so wild, I can’t believe you chose to study instead it.”

“You bribed him with dinner.”

“I didn’t force him to accept it.” She rolled her eyes, tucking a stray blonde curl behind her ear. “Whatever, you just better watch it tonight, okay?”

“Not okay.”

“Oh, shut up.” Januaria fell silent for a moment, and then asked, “Hey, did you finish this week’s econ assignment?”

“Yeah…” Symphora pulled out her phone, ignoring the several messages from her father’s latest paramour. Dinners with her father and whomever he was dating at the moment were undoubtedly the worst part of the day, so naturally, she avoided them when possible. Besides, it was Friday, and her classmates had been planning a dinner for the day, so there was no way she was willing to forego that fun for some stuffy and awkward dinner. Slipping it back into her skirt’s pocket, she smiled at her friend, and shrugged, though she replied affirmatively with, “Don’t worry, I’ll save your ass.”

“That’s why you’re my bestie!” Januaria linked their arms together, and more or less dragged her toward school, but that was just how on pair for how their friendship worked. Januaria Berkovich-Sobol was the kind of girl who commanded everyone’s attention. She was tall for their age for one, standing at 171 cm already, with a freckled face, curly dark blonde hair, and sharp grey eyes, all emphasized even more so by her love of fashion and cosmetics.

They became friends by chance, having both been left out as children for having only moved to Caelus One at age eight, and not knowing any of the other children. Symphora was content to be by herself, but Januaria wasn’t, and decided their shared isolation was a good enough cause to be friends, and as she put it, “We can just be friends until we find better friends.”

Seven years later, and neither had found better friends.

“Syma, are you still going away for spring break?”

She shrugged. “My dad wants to go to Lemures for the two weeks. Something about testing out some new machines.”

“Ugh, that’s all he ever does.” Januaria rolled her eyes. “I used to think he was so cool. All you ever do is study and work. What’s so great about that? You’re gonna be working for the next fifty years of your life!”

“Eh, he doesn’t like leaving me alone, I guess.”

“It’s not like you’re really alone, anyway. He can just have that hot babysitter of yours stay behind, or better yet, you can stay at my place. Mom would totally love to have you; she thinks you’re a good influence.”

“Maybe she can convince him.” Even though she personally found Madam Berkovich-Sobol to be one of the most awe-inspiring women she ever met, Symphora doubted that her father would even bat an eyelash at whatever sharp verbal thrashing the woman sent his way.

“Maybe I’ll ask her.” Januaria pushed open their class’s door. “Would love to have her yell at someone not me.”

The classroom had maybe a few students present – Elliot Zaal (as always, he was early for class and helping others out), Donatus Okonkwo (who was always struggling to keep up with the workload), and Oliver Xie and Hilaria Salazar (usual suspects in the early morning collaborative learning).

“Morning, Syma. Did you finish 18 and 19 for chem?” Elliot waved them over with a smile, though even his usual cheery smile looked rather haggard.

“Hey, where’s my greeting?” Januaria mock-glared at him, to which he merely deflected with an even cheerier smile.

“Yeah, yeah, of course I did, who do you think I am?”

“Oh thank god.” Donatus, leant back against his chair, hands clasped in front like a prayer. “Organic chem is gonna give me an ulcer.”

“Donut, we’re only halfway through this unit. We’re absolutely getting ulcers.” Hilaria buried her head in her arms. “Ugh, ‘go to Harmonia Institute’, they said. ‘It’ll be good for you,’ they said.”

“It’s good for wanting to die young.” Oliver nodded sagely, letting out a groan as he stretched his arms. “Ugh, this is brutal, man! We’re in school for like fifteen hours a day, and then we still have like three hours of homework a day? And it’s not even midterm season yet?”

“Don’t remind me,” Hilaria groaned, “After midterms we get our final projects. How the hell are we supposed to manage that on top of everything?”

“How is this legal, and how is this not child labour, and when will this brutality change?”

“When one of us dies?” Symphora offered as she took out her laptop, quickly unlocking it and pulling out her chemistry answers.

“Thank you for your sacrifice, Donut.” Hilaria patted Donatus sympathetically. “I’m sure Janny will give a very touching eulogy.”

“Why do I have to die?”

“Why do I have to write the eulogy? Elliot, you do it.”

“Wow, okay, Janny, I see where we stand.”

“Yeah, well maybe you should’ve said good morning earlier.”

“Wait, Elliot, why don’t you wanna eulogize for me?”

“Nah, I nominate Burakgazi,” Symphora chimed in, well-aware that said boy had just entered. “It’s not good for the colonies to have so much hot air, Donut can live, and Janny won’t have to eulogize.”

Regulus Burakgazi glared at her, not that that’s anything new, and really, in a way, it was quite a shame he was always scowling and glaring, because even in her most biased and scathing opinion, he was quite pleasant to look at. “Oh, fuck off.”

“Well, don’t go giving yourself wrinkles like that. You’re gonna ruin your one good trait.” She was quite honest in that – he was objectively and undeniably good-looking, even in the throes of the awkward lankiness of puberty. Of course, that didn’t stop her from nitpicking his appearance. He had light olive-brown skin (which while she had relatively clear skin for their age, she was still envious of how nice his skin was), unruly hair halfway between blond and brown, a colour she identified as being the same as dirty greasy dishwater, and eyes that reminded her of blue cheese. He seldom wore his uniform properly, but since he was a Burakgazi, most teachers turned a blind eye, deciding it wasn’t worth it to argue with someone with a family like his, and who caused relatively few problems otherwise.

He looked baffled for a moment, animosity disappearing before being replaced with annoyance once again. “If we’re picking people to kill, I nominate the dwarf.”

“Wow, so original, asshole.”

“At least I’m not vertically-challenged.”

“Go choke on your own ego.”

“Ooh, I’m quaking in my loafers.”

Like always, everyone else ignored their arguing, and returned to furiously finishing their chemistry homework. Well, everyone except Elliot, poor sweet Elliot, who just wanted everyone to get along, and mustered his best friendly smile at Regulus. “Hey, wanna join us, Regulus? We’re just going over the chemistry pack, and – “

“Nah, you guys are on your own,” he sneered, and almost like an afterthought, directed one last jab at her and added, “Have fun getting the wrong answers from that though.”

“Do us all a favour and kill yourself.”

Elliot sighed, rubbing the back of his neck as Regulus stormed to his seat. “Why can’t you guys just act normal for once? Don’t you get tired of fighting all the time?”

“Oh, Elli, sweetie, they’ve been fighting since they first met.” Januaria didn’t even look up from typing on her laptop. “It’s just the natural order of things, y’know? Like water is wet, the sun is hot, Syma and Regulus will always be at each other’s throats, just a natural law of the universe.”

Rather than be satisfied with that, Elliot continued to look confused. “Can’t you guys just ignore each other?”

Symphora shrugged, picking at her skirt. “Sorry, but it’s a primal instinct to try to kill each other. It’s like a lizard brain instinct.”

“Ah, I knew it!” Januaria laughed loudly, ignoring the glare Regulus sent her way. “I knew he was a lizard person!”

Symphora followed and laughed too, with Oliver, Hilaria, and Donatus all snickering, and even Elliot cracking a smile. It was always a good time when making fun of that insufferable twit.

The root of their mutual dislike was nothing grand, or at least, not as far as she could remember. It was her fifth birthday, and since their parents frequently worked together (not friends, her father had scoffed at the idea when she mentioned it once), they had brought Regulus all the way out to Lemures to celebrate it. Of course, it wasn’t just some nice gesture either – birds of a feather should flock together, so it was more for the sake of keeping close family connections, so how disappointed the Burakgazis must have been when instead of finding their oldest son making nice, they found him yanking on her braids with his grubby hands. She wasn’t exactly the perfect victim either, not since she unintentionally provoked him by declaring loudly he had cooties, but nobody needed to know that.

Suffice to say, they never got along after that, and from what she could reason, neither of them had any intention of ever getting along. So it was only natural she spent the rest of the morning thinking of how exactly she could crush and humiliate him later in the afternoon when they had practical lessons.

I’d love Sophie Turner. She’s grown a lot as an actress and looks-wise, she’s close to perfect. She also would do well with the chilly, regal vibe. but what if they went for like…Blake Lively, to give her an umpteenth chance to be a ~serious actress~ lol. She has the height and wears clothes well. Also perhaps Samara Weaving, since she’s in the Ryan Murphy stable already? Murphy’s pedigree has fallen off, but I imagine Carolyn will be a really coveted role for any white actress under 35.

I agree there are no established actors rn who could credibly play JFK Jr. It’s impossible to overstate how much of a sex symbol he was. Aaron Taylor Johnson kind of has the physique imo, but I don’t see it otherwise. Old Hollywood would yield tons of options though. They should go with an unknown out of Yale Drama or something.

I actually like Blake in certain things--like The Shallows or A Simple Favor. But she's an actress who works for certain roles, versus an actor that can adapt lmao, which is what Carolyn requires. And tbh, the biggest thing standing in Sophie's way, elephant in the room, is probably her marriage. Is it fair that getting married and having a couple babies in your twenties is often devastating for actresses? Not at all. It's a product of misogyny. But in this current environment that is churning out hot girl after hot girl with legit talent, you're showing up in JoBros roasts and music videos and having kids versus being hypercompetitive, you will get lost. I think Sophie is very talented and gorgeous. She ain't perfect (none of them... are) but she's got the ability. But I don't know if she's being considered for roles like this right now because she's been pregnant for much of the past few years. Again--it's horrible and bad. But that doesn't make it not a thing.

I think that as much as Ryan Murphy has had some stumbles, there are still a lot of legit iconic people who love to work for him, and he's not out of the count for awards season, so to me... Carolyn would be a role lots of girls will want. I could see Samara, though lookswise she ain't right for it at all lol. She's very talented, so maybe she could convince me. Carolyn was a complicated, controversial person we don't know much about for sure--were she and JFK Jr. on the outs or not when they died, was she a cokehead or not (I mean probably), what was up with the kids issue, etc etc. We know less about her than we do about him, and she's less beloved, so there's more room to play.

ATJ is inspired casting, I love that and he could totally do it. He's one of those guys who's stupid hot and very talented, and due to a combination of the how uncomfortable everyone is with his horrid marriage, that issue making him hard to market, and him honestly being a "type" that's not as in right now... It's hindered him. But otherwise, like--yeah, you might as well get an unknown. People don't get exactly how ridiculous JFK Jr. was. He was hot, he was rich, he was a big dude, he was the heir to THEE family of the United States. The Kennedys have fallen off in recent years so a lot of younger people (lmao I'm 27.........) don't get it, but like. JFK Jr. a combo that you really don't see often. And if they can't convey that in the show.... It's gonna be disappointing.

London's £150 theatre ticket problem

Recently, Andrew Scott spoke up about the £150 theatre tickets that are on sale across West End shows. I mean, apart from glaring inaccuracies in the article ("Tickets for Plaza Suite, which stars husband and wife Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker, cost from £125 to £395." is just untrue - unless when I paid £35 for my ticket, I somehow spent £125...), statements like this are simply misleading. And in my opinion, actually do more harm to the public's perception of theatre than good.

This is not defending £150 theatre tickets - the pricing of which is a whole other discussion. It's that £150 is practically never the average price of a ticket, practically never the price that most tickets are for one performance of 600+ seats and according to The Stage's report, just slightly above the average MOST expensive ticket.

The average cheapest theatre cost in the West End is around the £25 mark, according to SOLT. I'm not one to decide whether £25 is affordable, accessible or whatever. But £25 for a West End show, one that is deemed by the public at large to be the best quality in the world on par with Broadway, seems reasonable to me.

Celebrities and other major names saying that tickets are £150 is harmful for many reasons. One being that reading hot statements like that, from the average non-theatregoing joe public member's point of view, may reinforce the idea that theatre is not for them. That theatre is too expensive.

But a gentle reminder that the West End is not the only theatre you can attend is rarely mentioned. Across the UK, there are 100s of theatres putting on full programmes of productions throughout the year. And most of their ticket prices don't even graze three figures.

It's the public's perception that the West End is high-quality (not always), the West End is the best theatre that can be produced (not always) and that anything that isn't in London, and specifically the 39 West End theatres, must be made by amateurs and wannabe theatremakers.

Under 30s, for example, at Chichester Festival Theatre can enjoy £5 tickets across all their productions throughout the year. Theatre Royal Bath's tickets range from £9 to £60. Bristol Old Vic's tickets rarely exceed £60. Here, I've listed you three producing (and receiving) houses who have shows that regularly, with high regard, transfer to the West End. That place where, once it hits those theatres, it is suddenly of high quality. It's suddenly recognised.

And even then, it's worth reminding ourselves, despite The Guardian's article, that £150 for a show in London is not normal. And that's not even mentioning places in London like the Royal Court who have cheap tickets, and develop high quality shows. Or the Lyric Hammersmith. Or the Bush Theatre. Or Southwark Playhouse. There's so many options to experience theatre at a fraction of the price, and receive high quality entertainment.

Even for shows with big celebs £150 is not the only option. There are times when it's often the only price band left, sure. But that's the unfortunate repercussions of shows with big celebs - they attract crowds who purchase the cheaper tickets faster.

Maybe we should start questioning actors and producers who select to do high profile shows in London, where rates and stakes are higher rather than grassroots theatres across the country. We know that X famous actor in Y show in Z London theatre will have extortionate tickets. That's less likely to happen in a producing house across the country.

Why don't we start questioning the intention of the production? Ultimately theatre is a business, and that's why. The rest of London relies on theatregoers - much like the towns & cities other theatres are located in - but remove Matt Smith, David Tennant, Tom Holland and everyone else in major West End shows and there's a knock-on effect elsewhere. But no one does ever seem to ask "why does this have to be produced in London?".

Anyway, there are cheaper tickets available in the West End. And that's just an unfortunate fact some clickbait-led folks will just have to accept.

Sure, saying "actually there are cheaper tickets available" (even in the West End) doesn't make the news, doesn't get clicks and certainly doesn't drum up engagement.

I also really can't be bothered to get into "it's only the shit seats that are cheap" because you and I both know you're only kidding yourselves at this point. It's been proven untrue so many times. #MusicNews Irish ⅓ of 702 has passed away prayers goes out to family and members of the group.

702 was a female R&B group from the 90’s that consisted sisters LeMisha “Misha” (born on June 10, 1978) & Irish (born on June 2, 1980) Grinstead and their friend, Kameelah Williams.

Irish’s twin sister, Ornish was also a founding member and subsititute vocalist for the group. The group was named after the area code of their hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada.

LeMisha, Irish, and Kameelah attended the Las Vegas Academy of Performing Arts. Irish, Orish, and LeMisha sang occasionally in the lobby of Caesars Palace where they were discovered by actor\comedian, Sinbad.

Sinbad visited their home in order to convince the girls’ parents to send the three of them to Atlanta for a convention and music competition.

Even though the girls missed the deadline for entry, Sinbad used his name to get them in. The group (under their original name “Sweeta than Suga”) came in 2nd place in the competition. As the convention was ending, the girls met Michael Bivins of New Edition & Bell Biv Devoe, who agreed to work with them.

The group were briefly joined by their cousin, Amelia Childs. After making their music debut on R&B group, Subway’s song, “This Lil’ Game We Play,” Amelia left the group and was replaced by Kameelah.

After recording a few demos as a quartet, Ornish left the group as well (even though her vocals appear on 702’s debut album). Michael Bivins continued to work with different producers and songwriters to get the right feel for the group’s album. The group’s name was changed to “702” which Michael suggested.

In October of 1996, 702 released their debut album, “No Doubt” which peaked at #82 on the Billboard 200, #24 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart, and topped Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart. In November of 2000, the album was certified Gold by the RIAA, with sales exceeding 500,000 copies in the United States.

The first single from the album, “Steelo” peaked at #32 on the Billboard Hot 100 in December of 1996, #16 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Maxi-Singles Sales chart, and #12 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart in November of 1996, staying on the chart for 28 weeks.

The song featured rapper Missy Elliott and was certified Gold by the RIAA by February of 1997, with sales exceeding 500,000 copies in the United States.

The song’s lyrics were altered and used as the theme song to the Nickelodeon television series, “Cousin Skeeter.”

The second single, “Get it Together” peaked at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in March of 1997, #7 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Top 40 chart, and #3 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart in March of 1997, staying on the chart for 27 weeks.

The title "No Doubt" song peaked at #58 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Airplay chart, staying on the chart for only 7 weeks.

The last single from the album, “All I Want” peaked at #35 on the Billboard Hot 100 in September of 1997, #22 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music\Maxi-Singles Sales chart, #31 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Top 40 chart, and #33 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 11 weeks. The song was featured on the “Good Burger” movie soundtrack.

The success of 702’s debut album earned them a Soul Train “Lady of Soul” Award in 1997. They also opened up for New Edition, Blackstreet, and Keith Sweat during New Edition’s 1996-1997 reunion tour.

The group made an appearance on Missy Elliot’s album, “Supa Dupa Fly” on the track, “Beep Me 911.” They even sang with Busta Rhymes’ new artist, Rampage.

They contributed the song “My Friend” to the “Men in Black” movie soundtrack. In 1998, 702 made cameo appearances on the television shows “Moesha” and “Sister, Sister.”

In June of 1999, 702 released their self-titled sophomore album which peaked at #34 on the Billboard 200 chart and #7 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart

During that same month, LeMisha gave birth to a son named Tony Lyndon and was replaced by Orish during her maternity leave.

The first single from the album, “Where My Girls At?” became their biggest hit, peaking at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in June of 1999, #10 on Billboard’s Top 40 Mainstream chart, #6 on Billboard’s Top 40 Tracks chart, topped Billboard’s Rhythmic Top 40 chart, and #3 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles & Tracks chart, staying on the chart for 29 weeks.

The song managed to chart in the United Kingdom, Canada, Sweden, and the Netherlands. It was certified Gold by the RIAA and earned them a Soul Train “Lady of Soul” Award nomination.

The follow-up single from the album, “You Don’t Know” peaked at #50 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles & Tracks chart, staying on the chart for 20 weeks.

The last single from the album, “Gotta Leave” peaked at #58 on Billboard’s Hot R&B\Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, staying on the chart for 9 weeks. It also peaked at #35 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Top 40 chart.

702 was a part of Brandy’s “Never Say Never” tour. They also appeared in the 1999 ABC television movie, “Double Platinum”featuring Brandy and Diana Ross. They even signed a deal with Wilhelmina Models and was the opening act for Brian McKnight’s tour, promoting his album, “Back at One.”

After the release of their second album, 702 took a brief hiatus. Kameelah decided to leave the group and start a solo career. She was briefly the new protege of Faith Evans and signed a deal to be managed by Faith & her husband, Todd Russaw under their Pedigree MGI Management.

Kameelah sang backup vocals and wrote three songs on Faith’s album, “Faithfully.” She also sang backup on the track, “Take Away” from Missy Elliot’s album, “Miss E…So Addictive.”

In 2001, it was reported that Kameelah joined R&B group, Total which was later denied. Later that year, it was reported that 702 would be featured on Aaliyah’s self-titled third album for the track “Candy Girls” that would also feature Missy Elliott and Timbaland, but according to various sources, it was found to be untrue.

LeMisha and Irish decided to return to the spotlight and enlisted singer Cree Lamore to replace Kameelah. As the new version of 702, they recorded the lead single, “Pootie Tangin'” for the Chris Rock film, “Pootie Tang” which failed to make any impact on the charts, but it earned them a 2002 Soul Train “Lady of Soul” Award nomination.

After Kameelah returned to 702 and replaced Cree, 702 returned to the studio to record their third studio album.

In March of 2003, 702 released their last album to date, “Star” which peaked at #45 on the Billboard 200 chart and #22 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart.

The follow-up single, “I Still Love You” peaked at #49 on Billboard’s Hot R&B\Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, staying on the chart for 20 weeks. The album earned the group two Soul Train “Lady of Soul” Award nominations.

During that same year, 702 shared lead vocals on the track, “Gamble It” on singer Sirena’s album, “Emotions.” Irish appeared in the Brewster Project in 2004.

In 2006, 702 appeared on the independent album, “E Sharp Presents.” In 2007, LeMisha released a song entitled “What I Got” which appeared on the independent album, “E Sharp Presents Vol II.

Bow Wow Responds to Orlando Brown's Comments

Bow Wow recently responded to comments that actor Orlando Brown made about him in a recent online interview. Brown did an interview with comedian Funny Marco and made some comments about the last time he watched BET's 106 & Park. In the interview, Brown states "The last time it was hot, when Lil Bow Wow was on there," and added "I ain't got a problem with Lil Bow Wow. Lil Bow Wow got some bomb ass pussy." This is not the first time that Brown has said some rather odd things in an interview. Obviously, those comments are what confused people and enraged many fans to the point of flooding Bow Wow's Twitter. The interview released on YouTube on Wednesday, July 13. You had woken up on the right side of the bed. The 35 minutes after you woke up were filled with simple joy. No sudden exhaustion, no stale coffee. In fact, you were quite certain today would be a great day.

With gentle ease and quick steps, you navigated through your house and completed your morning routines. With a soft hum, you flung open your closet doors and felt your mood dampen.

There, right in the center, of your school uniform was a stain. You ran your fingers over the stain and wondered what it was. Spilled coffee, mud, or something as silly as spilled ink? Nevertheless, you needed to either clean the stain or grin and bear it.

A quick glimpse towards your alarm clock, and it changed from being late to school or go with a stain. You shook the discomfort from your head and changed into the uniform, ignoring the gross feeling it left on your chest.

Somewhat less happy, you continued onto school. You were eager to finish the day and return to your boyfriend.

But the further the day went, the worse you felt. A car drove through a puddle and splashed you with day-old rainwater, then your classmate accidentally dropped your book, and so on and so forth...

Despite each issue you faced being relatively 'minor' in the scheme of things, you were upset. You dragged yourself to an apartment. Pushing the door open, you collapsed onto the carpet and tried to breathe.

"Huh? Who left the door open?" An all too familiar voice came from the hallway. You raised your head and watched the boy enter. "Ah, (Y/N)!"

For a moment, a split second, time seemed to freeze. All it took was a moment, a split second, for his grin to sink low on his face and his yellow eyes to lose their playful gleam. One moment, a split second, and he was by your side.

"What happened?" His voice was soft - odd you had thought Kano is never quiet - and his hands lingered inches above your arms, his fingers twitching fighting an internal battle between wanting to give comfort and wanting to give you space.

"I-" you forced yourself to speak while you sat up, "I just-"

He kept direct eye contact with you as he removed his jacket and draped it over your shoulders, "Would you like to see a show?"

You sniffled and wiped the tears that were blooming in your eyes, "A show?"

His eyes lit once more and he smiled, "The best show there is."

"I... okay. What show is it?"

He stood and winked at you, "Just stay here! I'll be right back!" He hurried out of the doorway and you waited in silence for a moment, before a black cat stumbled in. The way it waved its tail reminded you of waves rolling away from shore. It paced about the room before sitting right in front of you.

You considered the cat with a keen eye, trying to figure out why it appeared here. Slowly, you raised your hand and scratched the cat’s chin. It purred softly and crawled into your lap.

With a soft smile, you looked into the curious yellow eyes of the cat. "You are strange, Kano." You whispered. The cat smiled and raised its paw to your hand. "However, you were right."

The cat beeped questioningly at you.

You smiled and kissed its ear, "This is quite a great show. You are a fantastic actor, Kano."

Filled with satisfaction and pride, the cat leaned into you. Though his acts of physical affection were always done through a mask, you never minded too much. All you could think of now is how small your worries seemed.

Kano made sure to pamper you the rest of the day, and after a long day of terrible movies, half-done manicures, and lots of venting, he walked you home. It was late, and he often stopped to gaze at the stars.

"What is it?" You asked him.

He smiled softly, "It's nothing. Just... I think Ayano would be happy."

You looked into his eyes, his bright yellow eyes, and for a moment, a split second, you swore you could see a tear slip down his cheeks. For a moment, a split second, he turned to you with a sad smile and spoke in a tone you'd never heard from him before.

"Ahh, (Y/N), I didn't tell you earlier but... you did a good job today."

Under the soft moonlight and twinkling stars, you felt tears fall down your shocked expression and you drew him into a tight hug. He hesitated before resting his hand on your back and leaning into the hug.

"Uwaaa, you're so cute, I can't handle it!" He laughed, and when your sobs turned into gentle laughter, he felt his shoulders relax.

"Way to ruin a moment." You jokingly punched his arm as you pulled away.

"Ah?! You're so cruel!"

The two of you walked to your home, playfully bickering as you went, and when you were tucked in bed you smiled in the dimly lit room.

Maybe it wasn't such an awful day, after all.

This episode was so fun and fluffy! I don't know about you, but I am enjoying the tone during this second season. A lot. I don't care how stupid the audition process was for the spot in the school, it gave us some very good comedy and a lot of USTy, sexy, flirty goodness.

And like you, I also love in love Edser!

Thankfully this episode was dominated by Edser, and with Kiraz at Granny's house we even got some alone time. The supporting characters were used to good effect this episode, Engin and Piril were the funniest they've ever been, Kerem and Pina served to poke Serkan about his mentoring style, and it was actually nice to have an excuse for Ayfer and Aydan to share a storyline again.

However, we'll start with Burak and Melo. UGH. I mean I love Melo and Elcin has done a really good job of showing Melo's heartbreak and trying to hide her melancholy behind her usual bubbly personality, but I really can't stand that it's over such a dud of a character. I know I'm a broken record here but Melo deserves better than this fool. Honestly, he's such a bland sad sack I don't really get why Melo loves him, Eda wants to be friends with him and Ayfer thinks he's so great she wants him for a nephew-in-law. Well, for Ayfer the only qualification is that he's not Serkan, so never mind that question.

However, maybe there's some hope? Before this episode it seemed certain they were heading in a romance direction, but the way he told her she was like a sister to him? Is there really any coming back from him saying that after he remembered kissing her? On the other hand we're barreling towards the end here and there's not really enough time to introduce anyone new for Melo (and no indication from spoilers that they have) and I'm pretty sure Ayse and the writers want to give her a romantic happy ending (although I'd be fine if they didn't and instead had her go off and do something entirely for herself like go back to school or travel or open a shop). So we'll see, because even with the sister line they left some room open because Kerem was the one who suggested he say that (it wasn't necessarily his own idea) and with Melo he seemed to be coming from a place where he assumed he had forced himself on her and she was angry because she didn't want it. Which we know is not true, so might be a misunderstanding that leads to something more. Anyway, I guess we'll just have to endure whichever way they go.

Personally, I like the Serkan-Kemal father storyline. I think it's a good way to add a bit of drama in the waning episodes, gives Serkan a bit of an identity crisis, interestingly mirrors his own situation with Kiraz, and it just makes sense with everything we know of the characters. Because were we seriously supposed to believe that someone as sniveling as Alptelkin sired Serkan? I mean Serkan is the epitome of BDE, he has an inherent charismatic and commanding presence. Sorry to the actor who played Alptekin, but he didn't really have any kind of presence, however Sinan who plays Kemal, does. They've done a great job of casting, because it just feels true. I believe Kemal and Serkan share genetics.

However, even before that storyline starts in earnest, it's interesting that Serkan was being a big baby, not wanting his mom with a man she clearly loves. I wish Eda would have pushed back at him a little more when he was going off that Aydan shouldn't pursue love at her age! Does he think he'll be out of love with Eda by the time he's in his 50s and 60s? Of course not! I'm guessing Eda, though, is just letting him blow off some steam and come to accept the relationship on his own terms. Don't get me wrong, though, after all the meddling Aydan's done with Edser, she more than deserves to have Serkan's opinion of Kemal negatively impact her!

Loved that Kiraz and Can found out first that Kemal is Serkan's father! Cat is out of the bag, Aydan, you can't make a deal with a 5 year old, lmao. It put a nice ticking clock on the whole thing and gave us some good comedic moments where Kiraz is speaking the truth and everyone thinks she's just really fond of the dude. Hee.

Also I enjoyed the Aydan and Ayfer moments. To be honest, I also used to enjoy their true friendship moments when we got them, like when Kemal first appeared and Aydan was freaking out and needed Ayfer and Seyfi around her, and when they were trying to hunt down Deniz after the fake wedding turned real. After so much animosity, it was nice that Ayfer recognized that Aydan was truly in distress and needed a friend and they were able to actually talk. Also we got some (mildly) funny comedy with the two of them and the school lady. Speaking of Ayfer, thankfully she finally realized some consequences to her actions in pushing Burak at Eda. She hurt Melo! Glad she finally opened her eyes to see what should have been obvious to her (Eda never saw him that way, and Melo obviously did) and apologized to Melo. I'd like it if she would apologize to Eda as well, (and Burak deserves an apology as well because she most definitely gave him false hope) but since Eda wasn't influenced by her we probably won't see that.

Switching to Eda and Serkan this episode gave us lots of good stuff. This was a great episode for showing us where each of them stood. Eda is terrified of getting hurt and trying to hold him at arm's length even while he clearly is inching back into her heart, and Serkan is dreaming of their future together, and taking every opportunity to tie them together. How much did I love Serkan admitting he was poking at Eda, and doig things to make her angry, just so she would talk to him? Interesting that he's doing it and love that he's being honest and admitting it to her. One of my favorite relationship dynamics between them is around "talking." In the very beginning Serkan did a lot of complaining about how much Eda talked and how she never shut up, but starting around episode 18 all he wanted was for Eda to talk to him. And this is just more of that. The thing he wants most is to talk to her.

Plus watching domestic Edser is just so much fun, I could watch their full grocery shopping trip in real time and be perfectly happy, lol. At the age of 35 it's time that Serkan learn how to do a few things for himself, I don't care how rich he is, so it's nice that we see him evolving a bit as he embraces the dad role.

The jealousy gambits, even as mild as they are, are getting pretty eye roll worthy since Eda and Serkan are living together, care so much, and obviously are still so hot for one another. It's a bit more understandable from Serkan since Eda is the one creating the barrier between them, but are we really supposed to believe that Eda is jealous of Deniz when Serkan is so obviously in love with Eda and planning their future together? Especially when he clearly can't stand Deniz and tries so hard to avoid her? I suppose it's to show us that Eda is in a jumbled state, her head is trying to keep space with Serkan, while her heart wants him badly and is scared he's going to take her rejections seriously. Even so it was quite irrational for her to get angry at Serkan for having lunch with Deniz when she ordered him to leave with her. Poor Eda is in emotional turmoil.

It was hard to tell with shaky translations, but I guess Serkan claimed to have been injured while rescuing Eda and that's how he talked his way into her bed? Impressively done, Serkan. Love it because it meant we all got to wake up to snuggly family, snuggling together. This gave us another glimpse into Eda's psyche, she wakes up first, and is clearly enjoying it and feeling at home in his arms, until the sleep clears enough and her head realizes she's not supposed to be enjoying it. But once again Kiraz knows how to handle her parents and their complicated relationship beautifully and fixes everything with a pillow fight. That is one smart cookie.

One of my favorite moments of the episode is when Eda is trying to convince Serkan to go to Aydan about the school. Eda knows that her big eyes still work on him, and they did. He still can't say no to her, another one of my favorite relationship dynamics of theirs. I'm super glad some things never change. Speaking of their visit to Aydan's, how great that they went to meet the horse without a name as a family, and then Serkan finally came up with the perfect name. Definitely a star.

Love, love, love that Serkan and Eda beat Engin and Piril when it came to the 'how well do you know your spouse' game. They may have been separated for 5 years, but they both have a genuine interest in the other, so they remember things, and they always made a much more compatible couple than Engin/Piril who have absolutely nothing in common. Of course I adored all the fake married hijinx this gave us, not to mention all the opportunities for Serkan to touch, kiss, and hold her. SO MUCH UST!

The heart-to-heart on the bench was well done and it finally gave us Eda opening up and telling him what's been holding her back. She's scared. Of course she is, the poor thing. Serkan might have thought he was doing it for her own good both times, but he ripped her heart out twice (not even counting all the heart ripping he did during amnesia) how could she not have fears? Of course she's afraid! Whenever she lets herself love him and be loved by him, it's ripped away horribly, and often in ways that feels like it's him doing the ripping. She can take into consideration the circumstances, which she has or else he wouldn't be anywhere near her, and still need time to be sure she's not just setting herself up to get emotionally demolished again.

For Serkan's part all he can do is keep being there, being honest with her, and showing he's in it for the long haul, which I think he's doing and which is why they are where they are at the end of this episode.

Engin and Piril's dance practice is probably the first Engin/Piril alone scene that I thought was genuinely funny and fully enjoyable. I can't think of another... message me if you think there is one, lol. Elsewhere, I saw some folks saying that Engin and Piril should have won the dance competition, because they actually danced, and Eda and Serkan didn't. LOL, you think? I'm pretty sure that was the point. That Eda and Serkan didn't really dance, all they did was get up there and turn their sexual tension and intense smoldering towards one another up to eleventy and won because it's that powerful.

It's sort of a metaphor for this whole series. Sen Cal Kapimi is 100% powered by their chemistry. Of course they can win any competition by just pressing their bodies against one another! They can turn a ditzy Turkish summer romcom that probably should have gone 13 eps into an international hit that's going on 50 episodes, just by looking at one another.

I'm glad that the school officials overheard their conversations and dismissed them, any organization that requires this of the parents, is going to be a lifelong pain-in-the ass, lmao. Also it was good to see Edser and EnPir make up by the end.

Now, on to that ending. I'm glad the subject of the tatoos was brought up, interesting that Eda kept hers until a few months ago. Also interesting that she moved it... can't blame Serkan for wanting to see it. Was that one great seduction line, or what?

I join with everyone who thinks it was a slightly awkward place to leave the episode. We only have 13 (probably) episodes this season, and we've only had one kiss so far. That was definitely a moment for a kiss. Part of me thinks they were going for the cliffhanger, what will Eda do? Will she kiss him or slam the door in his face? Tune in next week to find out! Except that audiences have to wait no time at all for the fragman and that makes any such cliffhanger moot. So what's the point? Have her pull him in, kiss him, and the show can end with them passionately making out and the door slamming with the camera outside the house.

Oh well, it is what it is, and we can only hope they pick up next week right where they left off. As for the fragman, obviously they are fully back together for this episode which means she lets him in to hunt for her tattoo. (please oh please give us that internet ozel because I don't think I can stand being online in this fandom if they don't. Thankfully I'm traveling next week and will be too busy to spend much time on twitter.)

As I said in another ask, I'm not surprised Serkan is barreling them straight towards marriage. When you know, you know, so why wait? Once they emotionally commit to one another, they need to just get married. No waiting for psychos to interfere, family to meddle, or tragedy to strike!

Seriously can't wait for a full episode of them together and Serkan figuring out how to propose. I'm also looking forward to the Kemal/Serkan stuff, it will be interesting to see how he reacts once the news sets in... should be a great episode!
