really really really tired of asoiaf (but lbr mostly hotd) fans who keeping whining about how ‘ugly’ the actor playing whichever of their faves is, or getting up in arms at the very idea that someone who looks like anything besides AI wank material could be cast as a targaryen etc like ok then just leave lol. it’s a book series that intentionally includes ugly characters and their experiences of ugliness and if you are that disturbed by the thought of even an ordinary looking person playing a fictional character in a tv show then go somewhere else bc clearly u do not like the material you just want something to get off to

I think it would really benefit people to internalize that mental illnesses are often chronic and not acute. Some of us will never be able to jump the hurdle of managing illness, much less sustaining a sense of normalcy. Many of us will never "recover," will never manage symptoms, will never even come close to appearing normal - and this is for any condition, even the ones labeled as "simple" disorders or "easy-to-manage" disorders.

It isn't a failure if you cannot manage your symptoms. It isn't a moral failure, and you aren't an awful person. You are human. There's only so much you can do before recognizing that you cannot lift the world. Give yourself the space to be ill because, functionally, you are.

Some interesting similarities between the forms of Falling Devil and Darkness Devil.

There’s the use of multiple bodies to create a singular form, the angular shapes, the mantis-leg-like appendages, the sheer height.

These two also share very strong hand motifs, which makes sense for both of them: when it’s dark, you have to feel your way around, usually with your hands; when you’re falling, you try to grab onto something with your hands.

I’m curious to see if the other Primals look anything like these two.

The tragedy that is the Barnes family, who had to watch their only son and his best friend both leave marching towards a war that would eventually claim them, who died without ever knowing they would be alive and reunited in the far future, who died believing they would meet Bucky again yet never did...

And also the tragedy of Bucky and Steve never getting to see their family again, who have to live with the knowledge that they're still alive while Winifred or George or Becca aren't, whose last memory of them is a painful goodbye and broken promises...

Not to mention how Sarah Rogers never was more than a footnote in Captain America's story, when she probably worked so hard just to keep Steve alive and happy, who is only remembered by two (broken, lonely, sad) people, who never got to see the good her son would do...

Jon coming back “wrong” but it’s not in the fire-zombie way people imagine. Rather, as a result of the different types of magic within him heating up to a fervor, he comes back as a freak of nature, playing right into GRRM’s deconstruction of biblical doctrine and prophecy. In true Christ-like fashion, Jon transforms into the fantasy hero we think we deserve: a prophet, warrior, king, and god. It’s good for Westeros and its survival, but is it good for Jon? Is it really good for him? He’s only 17. He’s a kid ☹️

Phantom gets called cat like by the other heros all the time. Hell some of the league members have even joined in after he met them. Fuck you superman how dare you out his purring

Problem is his new power he started developing. Telekinesis. And it’s very hard to control. Now if he looses focus he starts knocking stuff off shelves or off tables.

Frostbite told him he would keep developing powers till his ghost side was grown but he thought it was done. How many more powers does he need!!!!

Two thoughts:

1. These are the eyes of a man who's spent the entire night crying and is too exhausted to do more at this point.

2. Vash declares (blames?) Livio (technically Razlo?) for Wolfwood's death, and he still feeds and takes Livio with him.

Imagine their journey west. Imagine them shaking out bedrolls and Vash turns to say good night and realizes Wolfwood isn't the one beside him. He never will be again.
