A Ticket To Jannah (Paradise)
Narrated Anas bin Malik (RA): “Once Muadh was along with Allahs Apostle ﷺ as a companion rider. Allahs Apostle ﷺ said, “O Muadh bin Jabal.” Muadh replied, “Labbaik and Sadaik. O Allahs Apostle! ﷺ ” Again the Prophet ﷺ said, “O Muadh!” Muadh said thrice, “Labbaik and Sadaik, O Allahs Apostle! ﷺ ” Allahs Apostle ﷺ said, “There is none who testifies sincerely that none has the right to be worshipped…

I just love my brother so much 😭 Allahuma barik lahu He doesn't have much to offer but his devotion to our family and how he is always in service for any one of us and how he just would go out of his way to make sure we are comfortable and safe is so selfless and I pray Allah swt count all of these acts in his good deeds and make them a way to elevate his rank in Jannah ameen ya rabb. Tbh, he wasn't really like that before, sübhanallah he was the template of any north african spoiled selfish only male child whose mom spoiled rotten and raised him to believe he is entitled to everything. But noticing this huge transformation in his personality, his humbleness, his genuine care and worry for our family, and especially for me is making me fall deeper and deeper in gratitude for Allah swt who changed my brother's heart and created ways for him to gain extraordinary deeds, because as Prophet Muhammad ﷺ says "the best of you is the best to his family" - and even if this Hadith is often explained in talking about one's wife, I'd like to think of it in general terms of family in the case of my brother 😭 Allahuma barik lahu wa barik bihi wa barik fih, Allahuma grant him khayr in this duniya and the hereafter, mend his heart and solve his problems, in deed you are the Almighty, you are able to do all things. Ameen.
Tonight, I was at my friend's house which is on the other side of town, and I got sick, and it was pretty bad and I called him and said " I got sick come pick me up" and even though it was late, and he was super tired and about to sleep he drove across town to come get me, he drove me to night-shift pharmacy and then got me food, even though his eyes were closing at the end. And then he mistakenly used my pet-name to refer to his daughter in the middle of the conversation and my heart just exploded with love for him 🥹
I am literally nothing without my brother, reflecting back on the years and how we weren't that close in my teenage and early adult years and how we finally found our way back to each other after my marriage is so heartwarming. Sübhanallah, even in the most dysfunctional of the families, Allah swt will bless you with that one person that will be there for you, care for you, protect you and show you that you are loved. In deed, Allah is the most merciful. I don't know why I am writing this, I just found myself pouring my heart out. Maybe to send out a little hope for girls who are currently not having the best relationship with their older brothers, do not despair, Allah's mercy is endless, He swt can turn things around in a heartbeat. And maybe to encourage guys to be a little kinder to their families and especially their sisters. It makes a huge difference for your sister to know that you've got her back and that you're there for her. But probably I am fever-blogging lol.
Conclusion, I have the best of the brothers. Allahuma barik, la quwwata illa billah 🥹🤍

This stinks to high heaven, or Jannah, or Valhalla, or whatever makes you happy
My big sister is gay. I was the first person she came out to when we were kids, not quite 20 yet. I care deeply about her. And as I matured + unlearned much of my ingrained adolescent homophobia, with my sister’s help, I have come to care deeply about the LGBTQ community. Even the white ones, and all the other non-Black ones too
I’m trying really hard to imagine hearing about something like the Pulse nightclub shooting and somehow not caring about some of the non-Black victims because they might not have shared my exact political beliefs. I can’t. I can’t imagine not caring. Not caring because of something so trivial by comparison of being murdered by a crazy person in cold blood.
Look, I guess at some point either you care about people or you don’t. And if you’re able to turn off who you feel sorrow for based on their race, religion or ideology, then I don’t know what to tell you. I don’t know how to relate to you.
I’ve been trying not to post too TOO much about some specifics of what’s happening in Palestine and Israel, but I’m sorry: I feel bad for the innocent children and civilians who were murdered in cold blood in Israel. I know that the “any means” tankies crowd wants everyone to ignore their deaths (or worse celebrate their deaths), but I guess I’m not built that way.
Some of those people murdered at the concert, for example, were not only innocent civilians, but they were also pro-Palestinian activists who spent their time working for peace. I shed tears hearing their family members talking about them. Hamas murdered Holocaust survivors, ffs.
I absolutely can understand Jewish people feeling uneasy right now. They lost a ton of noncombatant civilians —not to mention children. And oh yeah, antisemitism has been at an all time high, unfortunately, just like Islamophobia is about to be. Again.
I might be wrong, but I honestly just do not think that Hamas did Palestinians any favors.
Yes, yes, I dO understand that violence is always a necessary part of freedom and decolonization.
“Nobody in the world, nobody in history, has ever gotten their freedom by appealing to the moral sense of the people who were oppressing them.” —Assata Shakur
So I’m a big podcast listener (helps occupy my mind whenever I’m working on long tedious projects), and I was listening to one where they interviewed a Jewish soldier who was recently activated, but he was out of Israel and had to fly back. He said something like, “If they had only attacked military targets, then I would get it. We got caught with our pants down, and all is fair in love and war, right? But the mass slaughter of civilian families, women and children is the reason I’m going back.”
I wanted to reach through my phone and ask him about Israel preparing to do exactly the same thing to Palestinians in retaliation, but alas I guess I just sounded like a crazy person yelling to himself in my office.
And yeah, before you read too much further, please understand that I dO support the fuck outta Palestine. Let me be unequivocal here: Israel is in the wrong. Israel has oppressed Palestinians for decades. For actual generations.
Remember when Israel literally bulldozed over a woman to build more houses in Gaza?
Tumblr media
Yeah, seriously heinous shit, right?
And we don’t actually have a solid count for all the innocent murdered Palestinian civilians who were living in apartment buildings that Israel has been bombing to smithereens for the past few days. I understand that Israel and the West would have us believe that everyone in Gaza is a terrorist and nobody is an innocent civilian, but hopefully, if you’re reading this, YOU know better than that.
But that said ….. I cannot get with tankies—who, safe and sound in their homes, not being perpetually bombed—want to sound “hard” on social media, and make no distinctions with the people who were just minding their own fucking business at a goddamn concert. I think about all of the mass shootings in America (movie theaters, grocery stores, night clubs, concerts, schools, office buildings, etc) and I just cannot imagine justifying or excusing ANY of them because of the shooter’s “ideology.” I know it’s not an apples-to-apples comparison, but it’s close enough.
“If they were on colonized land then they deserved to die” is one hell of a fucked up take. The slippery slope is that if any of our loved ones are gunned down by “freedom fighters,” then we should just be happy for “the cause” and not shed any tears, because ALL of us deserve to die in America and other Western countries, because we’re all living on colonized land.
I cannot even begin to explain how flawed and fucked up that so-called reasoning is.
You have to have some fucking lines and boundaries.
We don’t just do a shoulder shrug when children are murdered in cold blood—and no, I’m not talking about the 40 babies allegedly beheaded, I’m just talking about the little toddlers who were shot through walls and died, and the elderly and disabled who were shown being dragged away. Yeah, I feel sorry for them too. And I won’t apologize for that.
Rape is wrong. All the time. Under all circumstances. Even when it’s happening to people who you don’t like.
Murdering children is wrong. All the time. Under all circumstances. Even when it’s the children of people who you don’t like.
Do I really need to spell this shit out? JFC.
If you don’t care about any of this because you’re “down for the cause,” then you. are. lost. Like really and truly lost. You aren’t a radical. You’re a fanatic. And hopefully you won’t be in a position to ever receive the fanatical Karma that you’re asking for.
Anyway…
I am on the side of Palestine in all of this. They never deserved to be oppressed by Israel or anyone.
Innocent Palestinian women and children are dying as you’re reading this. I’m shedding tears for them too. They’ve been going through this for way too long. That fact alone is beyond being a tragedy.
Palestine has already suffered and will suffer 10 times more than all of the civilians and noncombatants who were tragically murdered in Kfar Aza.
As always, my usual reminders:
The Holocaust happened
Antisemitism is real
Hamas ≠ Palestine
Israel is an apartheid state
Collective punishment is a war crime
Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal
You can support Palestine without being antisemitic
Free Palestine 🇵🇸

Allah calls Himself Ash-Shaheed— The All-and-Ever Witnessing— on 18 occasions in the Quran. Ash-Shaheed is the witness whose sight no one can escape. He is the One with full knowledge of all matters, witnessing the apparent and hidden, anywhere, any time.  Ash-Shaheed is the witness and observer of all creation, thoughts, and actions, and the ultimate witness on the Day of Judgment!

The Witness, the Testifier, the Certifier

Shaheed comes from the root sheen-haa-daal, which points to three main meanings. The first meaning is “to bear witness.” The second meaning is to offer testimony, and the third is to have knowledge of something.
This root appears 160 times in the Quran in nine derived forms. Examples of these forms include yashhadu (“to testify”), ashhidoo (“to take witness”), shahaadati (“the seen”) and shuhadaa (“witnesses, martyrs”).
Shaheed refers to Allah’s awareness of everything; He hears every sound, loud and quiet, and sees the small and the large. In addition, He is the One who will testify for or against His servants for their deeds.
Ash-Shaheed Himself says:
Say: What thing is the greatest witness? Say: Allah is shaheed between you and I; this Qur’an has been revealed to me that I may warn therewith – you and whomsoever it may reach. [Quran, 6:19]
Allah is Witness over all things. [Quran, 58: 6]  Allah is sufficient as Witness. [Quran, 4: 79]
Allah (Himself) is Witness that there is no god save Him. And the angels and the people of knowledge (too are witnesses). [Quran, 3:18]
A Scene of the Souls
When Allah created Adam, He wiped Adam’s back and every person that He will create from him until the Day of Resurrection fell out from his back. [At-Tirmidhi and Al-Haakim] Allah stated that He brought the descendants of Adam out of their fathers’ loins, and they testified against themselves that Allah is their Lord and King and that there is no deity worthy of worship except Him. Allah then said,(and made them testify as to themselves (saying): “Am I not your Lord” They said: “Yes!”) [Tafseer ibn Katheer]
This was your first testimony and it means we will have no excuse on the Day of Judgement!
It will be said to a man from the people of the Fire on the Day of Resurrection, “If you owned all that is on the earth, would you pay it as ransom’ He will reply, `Yes.’ Allah will say, `I ordered you with what is less than that, when you were still in Adam’s loins, that is, associate none with Me (in worship). You insisted that you associate with Me (in worship).” [Tafseer ibn Katheer]
How Can You Live By This Name?
1. Say the sahahda, live the shahada. The Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: Man shahida an la ilaha illallah dakhala al-jannah – Whoever witnesses that there is no god but Allah alone enters Paradise.[Saheeh Muslim]. Your testimony of faith in Allah is something you not only utter, but must live by. When you say I bear witness there is no god but Allah it means that in your talk and actions, in your house or outside you show that you love Allah more than anyone else, you accept Him as your Creator, Master and Ruler of the universe, that you worship Him alone in all matters and not your desires or others’ directions. Next time when you say the shahada in your prayer, reflect upon the meaning. Increase in saying la ilaha illallah to renew your emaan!
2. Trust in Ash-Shaheed. Ash-Shaheed says in this beautiful soothing ayah: So wait patiently for your Lord’s decree, for surely you are in Our sight. [Quran, 52: 48]  Rest assured that any unjust treatment by the hands of others you go through, slander, gossip or abuse, Ash-Shaheed is your Witness and you will get justice.
3. Remember that you are a servant. It’s sometimes easy to shout at your family or children inside the house, or even oppress someone when you are in a position of authority over them. Remind yourself in each situation, wherever you are, whoever you talk to, whatever position you have, that you are a servant of Allah. Ash-Shaheed is witnessing every step you take and will you to account. Use this tip: when you are about to do something wrong, look up at the sky and imagine Ash-Shaheed watching you!
4. Don’t make your limbs testify against you. Use your tongue for speech beloved by Ash-Shaheed, your eyes to read the Quran, your limbs to pray to Him as they will all testify as what you used them for! The Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: I was amazed at how a servant will dispute with his Lord on the Day of Resurrection. He will say, “My Lord, did You not promise me that you would not treat me unjustly” Allah will say, “Yes.” The man will say, “I will not accept any witness against me except from myself.” Allah will say, “Is it not sufficient that I and the angels, the noble scribes, are witnesses” These words will be repeated several times, then a seal will be placed over his mouth and his organs (or limbs) will speak about what he used to do. Then he will say, “Away with you! It was only for your sake that I was arguing!”)” [Muslim and An-Nasa’i]
5. Always stand up for the truth. Always stand up for the truth in your testimonies, even if it is against yourself! Sometimes it is hard to admit a mistake, or testifying for the truth might even endanger you, but know this characteristic is one of true honour of a believer, which earns you not just a place in Paradise, but a place of honour!  And those who are in their testimonies upright and those who [carefully] maintain their prayer: they will be in gardens, honoured. [Quran, 70:33-35]
Wallahu ta’alaa ‘alem.
O Allah, Ash-Shaheed, we know that You witness all things. Guide us to live by the shahada and make us utter the testimony of faith on our deathbed. Help us remember that You are witnessing us, and make this awareness an inspiration for us to increase our good deeds. Make us always stand up for the truth and join us with the prophets and shuhadaa in the highest Paradise, ameen!

This one neat trick deities HATE
Pascal’s wager is dumb because it assumes the only two possibilities are “no god” or “Christian god.” Here’s how you can hedge your bets on salvation much more confidently:
According to legends concerning Amitābha, he was so concerned with the plight of souls trapped in the cycle of reincarnation, he resolved to become a buddha so he could create a buddhakṣetra, a a paradisiacal realm beyond ordinary reality that souls could be reincarnated into in order to learn to escape the cycle of rebirth. Since his goal is to help souls escape saṃsāra that otherwise would be unable to, all you have to do to ensure reincarnation in Amitābha’s buddhakṣetra is to call upon his name ten times, with a sincere desire to be reborn there. I don’t know about you, but if Amitābha is real, I would sincerely wish to visit his buddhakṣetra, so this one is easy!
Keep the Noahide laws. Since only Jews are required to keep the commandments of Judaism, even if you fully believe in the Jewish religion, you do not have to keep all six hundred odd commandments if you are not a Jew. All you have to do is keep to a broader definition of good behavior. The Babylonian Talmud lists seven of these laws, and they’re basic things like don’t murder, don’t steal, don’t commit adultery, establish courts of law. Do that, and you’ll have a spot in HaOlam HaBa. Pretty standard if rather conservative stuff--definitely easier than converting to Judaism. How to interpret “not worshipping idols” is a bit trickier, since presumably this commandment is not “be irreligious,” or “be a Jew.” Perhaps it’s meant literally--do not worship statues, do not treat statues as gods? Or perhaps it’s an instruction about generally being monotheistic. But that’s fine, because we don’t need to worship Amitābha, or any other figure, in statue form or otherwise, to complete this list.
Other dharma-based traditions like Jainism and Hinduism have no afterlife as such, just a cycle of reincarnation. You will want to try to accumulate merit and avoid accumulating demerit, but even if you fuck it up, any resulting state or world you end up in will, at least, be temporary. Depending on how “merit” is defined, donating some money to a temple or monastic organization might help. Helpfully, this dovetails somewhat with Zoroastrianism, which requires good thoughts, words, and deeds of you, but not (as far as I know) actual belief in order to attain the House of Song once you cross Chinvat. No anal sex, though, because Angra Mainyu invented that; but N.B. the Noahide Laws require avoiding “sexual immortality,” and I suspect the Babylonian Talmud frowns on that, too.
Next, you’ll need to memorize the Qur’an, to become a hafiz or hafiza. This is admittedly a bit harder--the Qur’an is long--but there is a tradition of memorizing it that perhaps you can draw on for advice and support. Maybe a YouTube video or two. And at least some traditions of Islam maintain that if you memorize the Qur’an, you are guaranteed entry to Jannah. This opinion is not universally held, but all other possibilities of getting salvation under Islam are likely to be voided if you are not, or are a bad Muslim when you die. And you can’t simply recite the Shahada on your deathbed, because that’s when you’ll need to...
Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and get baptized as a Christian! Do not do this until you are actually, literally about to die. Try to time it, if possible, so that your unavoidable death happens immediately afterward. Baptism is a washing-away of sin and is valid only once; otherwise, most Christian traditions hold that the only way to be absolved of sin is to confess your sins (possibly to a priest, if Orthodox or Catholic), and if you die without confession or last rites, you’re hosed. And so, so many things are sins. You will fuck up, and that’s the point: in Christianity, we all suck ass, and you are almost always (but not quite) screwed. Christianity is by far the strictest one here; there are some Christian denominations that believe it’s only necessary to be baptized as a Christian, while others believe you must hold to their specific doctrines or you count as an unbeliever. Since there are too many of the latter to appease them all, we must content ourselves that if any of them are correct, we stood no chance, practically speaking, anyway; God just wanted to fuck with us on our way down. Some Christians, the universalist denominations, believe all are saved regardless, because God is indeed loving, and not a malicious bastard; fortunately, if they are correct, this whole list is superfluous! But we want to hedge our bets. If you’ve already been baptized, you’ll have to confess your sins and sincerely ask for absolution, which is a bit harder than just renouncing Satan and so forth, especially if you don’t regret all the anal sex Angra Mainyu tricked you into. If you don’t think you can manage a sincere repentance, there is one other escape clause--martyrdom. Dying for Jesus is a guaranteed one-way ticket to redemption, but hard to manage now that all the lion pits are closed. You could always try to proselytize to the Sentinelese, hand out Chick tracts in a rough neighborhood, or, if you’re really desperate, try the Circumcellion way--get a big stick and charge someone who’s armed yelling “Praise the Lord!” and hope they martyr you right then and there. But frankly. this is dubious at best and I don’t recommend it.

Hehehe I just wanted to say how happy I was to see you mentioned me and then I saw the context I was over the moon!!!!
Like, I didn't really see kaveh in that light before but asdhgdtsjjtsutd YOU MAKE ME RECONSIDER!!! I was a bit surprised at the scaramouche part though but I realised it made a lot of sense since I do actually post him more often than kazuha and lyney but other than that I'm SCREAMING SO HAPPILY!!!! I love the ship cause I can actually that, we both sensitive people that loves art and kaveh looks like he'd br great at hugs too!
Oh but here's who I think would be a good ship for you! I can't say I really have reasoning cause I go with gut feeling and I'm bad with words/explaining so I hope I don't offend but Tighnari seems like a good match for you! Again it's just a gut feeling so I can't really explain it.
OMG Mintea, I never knew you had a crush on Lyney. Kazhua I think you've mentioned liking once or twice. But COME ON GIRL you're down bad for Scaramouch, you have so many artworks/posts of him🤣🤣
But I'm happy I've awoken your inner Kaveh lover!! My work here is done 😤💞😤!! No, but seriously you and Kaveh have so much in common and the more I think about it, the more I realise you'd also make a great couple with Albedo!! Same reasons: Two sensitive artists trying to unravel each other's souls. Seeking love through art and creation!! It's a match made in Jannah!!
😍💘💞💖TiGhNaRi 💖💞💘😍 No cause I'm absolutely in love with him after playing through his story quest!! Like I just want to live with him and Karkata in a tree house in the forest. I feel like I can just talk to Tighnari about anything and he'd understand!! Like I feel he would just get my soul, you know? Excellent choice 11/10🥰🥰
Saying this I now realize I have never written anything for Tighnari or any of the Sumeru boys, ever. I love all of them with all my heart honest. I just feel a bit intimidated to write for them.

Forgive me and the fact this is nothing like what I usually post but—
In times of great stress this photo of Ali Shariati getting married moves me. It reminds me that no matter how powerful the west is, nothing will get in the way of love and joy and community. They cannot take our humanity away. They cannot break our spirits. SWANA is resilient.
He wrote of her:
What should I do, Boran? Even if one were as tough as Napoleon, he would still be helpless before the woman he truly loves.
I wish I could go to Damascus to see Agha Shariati's resting place. I am so glad he was so lucky. (Our PM mossadegh was couped, put on house arrest to slowly die of cancer and denied the right to be buried in a cemetery. Instead buried in his own living room, in the home he’d been trapped in). He was so important and formative to me as a Shia Muslim and an Iranian and a believer in liberation and democracy in a post capitalist society. His resilience, OUR resilience, in the face of the west trying to deny us decency, is why I’m so pro-Palestine. We are United in struggle.
May his soul rest in Jannah.

🌟 ❛…And to give glad tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they shall have a fair reward (i.e. Jannah). They shall abide therein forever.❜ [Surah al-Kahf 18 : 2-3]
I remember my first mobile phone. It was just a hand-me-down from my eldest, but I was so excited to finally have one.
Now imagine buying a beautiful house, on top of a beautiful hill, overlooking the blue ocean. Isn’t that going to be your most amazing, most precious property ever?
But you know what happens after several years have passed by? It’s not that beautiful anymore. Whatever possessions or achievements we have right now, we will eventually get bored of it. And that mobile phone I got? I got disinterested fairly quickly as well.
In this aayah, Allah says that for the believers who do righteous deeds, their compensation is that they will remain in Jannah forever.
Now when we read this aayah, and we compare it with our experiences in this dunya, we may think that if everything goes exactly as we want *all the time* in Jannah, then the excitement is going to fizzle out sooner or later, that we will eventually get bored. But look what Allah says about the people in Jannah in another aayah:
🌟 ❛They will reside in it (forever), never desiring any transfer out of it.❜  [Surah al-Kahf 18 : 108]
Imam Ibn Kathir rahimahullah wrote in his tafseer that this aayah tells us how much the people of Jannah love and desire Jannah. Even though one might imagine that a person who stays in one place forever would get tired and bored of it, Allah tells us that despite this eternal stay, they will never choose to change or move from where they are. They will never choose or want anything else than Jannah.
And some scholars even said that there is no better praise of Jannah than Allah's statement of: ❛They will reside in it (forever), never desiring any transfer out of it.❜
There will never be a dull moment in Jannah. There will always be anticipation and excitement, and its inhabitants are constantly looking forward to the next amazing blessings and the next awesome adventure. May Allah make us one of them.

why is the belief in akhirah important
In Islamic doctrine, Al-Akhirah is necessary because the pious often suffer and unbelievers often prosper and enjoy themselves in the temporal world. To rectify that and to bring justice, Al-Akhirah with rewards of Jannah and punishment of Jahannam is necessary.
The hereafter is a form of faith
There are three basic principles of Islamic faith. Namely: Tawheed or Oneness of God, Risalat i.e. Prophets and Messengers and Akhirat i.e. Hereafter. Hereafter is the return to eternal life after death. A thorough judgment of all the actions of this life and the proper good or bad results and the enjoyment of heaven and hell as a consequence. Belief in the Hereafter is one of the five characteristics of believers. In this context, Allah Almighty says in the Holy Qur'an, "And they firmly believe in the Hereafter." (Sura-2 Baqarah, verse: 4).
Human life spans four worlds. Alame Arwaah, Alame Dunya, Alame Barzakh and Alame Akhirat.
There are many verses in the Holy Quran about the Hereafter. For example: 'And certainly the Hereafter is better or better for you than the first world. Soon your Lord will bestow upon you, so that you may be satisfied.
Hereafter is eternal, there is no death. 'Darul Akhira' is mentioned in many verses of the Holy Qur'an about the Hereafter. For example: "The Hereafter is better for the Muttakis." (Sura-7 Araf, verse: 169). (O Messenger of God) you say! O my people, do good deeds as much as you can from your position, I am also doing; Soon you will know for whom the good abode of the end.' (Sura-6 Anam, verse: 135). "Allah is calling you to the abode of peace in the Hereafter." (Sura-10 Yunus, verse: 25). Peace to you! Because you have been patient, how good is the end of the house of Paradise. 'Those who do good deeds, they will get welfare in this world, the abode of the Hereafter is better; How good is the abode of the Muttakis.' (Sura-16 Nahl, verse: 30). "Seek the abode of the Hereafter with what Allah has given you." (Surah 28:77)

Are you?
Are you the one your spouse goes to when he or she is troubled? Are you the one your spouse confides in because he or she feels you are most trustworthy or that he or she knows that you are a source of tranquility for him or her?
It is quite sad and alarming even to know that a lot of Muslim marriages fail and end up in divorce due to many things - but one thing is for sure, however or whatever we went through to be in that marriage or situation - it was Allah's Qadr - and everything that happens in the life of a believer is nothing but a blessing - and sometimes we figure it out later in our lives.
However, this post is not meant to be an opinion on something, rather this is meant to remind those who are married or those who are about to get married or who are thinking of getting married or remarried again about how communication and being close to your spouse makes a big difference in your married lives.
This is a story about a beautiful couple during the time of the Prophet ﷺ. A couple that both came from honored and blessed families. The man is from those who were giving the glad tidings of Paradise (10 promised Jannah) and whom the Prophet ﷺ himself has given the title "Talhatul Khair" (blessed from head to toe). The woman is from the family of Abu Bakr As Siddiq and was the sister of Aisha Radiyallahu Anha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ.
Do you now have an idea who this couple are? Yes, it is Talha Ibn Ubaidullah and Umm Khultum Bint Abu Bakr Radiyallahu Anhum.
As we read this short story about them, we have to remember that Umm Khultum was supervised, educated and even trained by Aisha Radiyallahu Anha regarding almost everything a Muslim woman must learn and know.
______
One night, Umm Khultum noticed that her husband, Talha, was quite worried and disturbed and was unable to properly sleep - tossing his body from left to right.
With this, Umm Khultum asked, "Dear, why are you so disturbed and worried? Have I hurt you with any mistake?"
Talha then replied, "By Allah! There is no such thing, You are an exemplary wife. I am just thinking that today I have earned 700,000 dirhams from my trading. What would Allah think about the man who has kept such a huge amount of money in his house. Hence, my night is sleepless. This money is the source of my disturbance. I am unable to decide what to do with it."
Umm Khultum then gave her opinion by saying, "This is not a problem. Right now go to sleep comfortably. Pack this money in bags as the day breaks and distribute it among the needy Ansaar and Muhajjareen."
______
Subhan'Allah. What a beautiful story.
My dear sister in Islam, are you like Umm Khultum that whenever she would notice her husband disturbed - she would think of consoling him or ask him whether she has displeased him or so?
A lot of the women of this "new generation" may find that this way of thinking of Umm Khultum is oppressive thinking. Why should it be always her fault, right? (Hello to the feminists out there.)
Nay, this only shows how the women of the Muslims are way different from other ordinary women.
They know that pleasing their husband is pleasing Allah and by displeasing their husband is displeasing Allah - and this is something that no ordinary woman would readily be able to accept unless they have truly understood the rights their spouse have over them.
And how about you my brother in Islam, are you someone who when asked and consoled by your spouse would give out a nice reply and appreciate her thoughts regarding you?
Sometimes, it takes a simple word of appreciation to make her day or put a smile on her face - believe me, a good word of appreciation goes a long way for your spouse.
Just look at how the wordings of Talha were, he replied in a way that delivered his answer moreover delivered a message of love and care towards his spouse.
______
We have to realize that for us to achieve such a relationship with our spouse - we have to communicate with them and do our parts. My sisters, do not be too demanding towards your spouse and my brothers, show more appreciation whenever you can towards your spouses.
Don't be too influenced with these modern day concept of feminism - it will destroy your marriage for it can go out of hand rapidly.
Also, look at how Umm Khultum answered and gave her opinion regarding the dilemma that Talha was having. There's no stain of wanting this world at all - and that shows you how focused they were towards achieving their ultimate goal of pleasing Allah and to be with Him in Paradise.
If you were put in such a situation, would you have the same answer as Umm Khultum? Ask yourself that and answer truthfully - you'll realize how we have come far away from women we should truly look upto. Astagfirullah.
My brothers and sisters in Islam, one thing that would really keep your relationship and marriage strong is none other than your relationship with Allah. Once your relationship with Allah is strong, every other relationship of yours for His Sake will be strong as well.
The more you move away from Allah, the more your relationship with your spouse will grow further from each other.
So don't lose that relationship with Allah. Do not make your spouse your world - rather make your spouse a means to become even closer to Allah - because that is how it should be.
Be your spouse's bestfriend.
- become that one person that would make him or her feel reassured and loved. Don't open doors for her or him to look for that "person" outside the boundaries of your marriage. Protect each other from the temptations of this world by being involved with each other and concealing what is private within your marriage - protect your marriage.
______
May Allah protect the marriages of all our Muslim brothers and sisters and keep them strong and bless every Muslim with offsprings that would becomes the coolness of their eyes.
Amin
Zohayma

Can you have anything you want in Jannah?
Abdullah ibn Mas‘ood (RadiyAllahu Anhu), according to which the Messenger of Allah (SallAllahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said:
"I have seen the very last person to get out of hell and enter into Jannah."
This is the person who has the very least faith, an atom's worth of faith in his heart. And Allah swt takes him out at the very end from Jahannam to enter into paradise. Yet look, how Allah swt is going to treat this man.
The Prophet SAW said, he comes crawling out entirely scorched, and he looks back at hellfire and says, "Alhamdu lillah, I am done with you." Then Allah swt tells him, "Go ahead and enter into the garden of paradise." So, he goes and enters into the garden of paradise and he finds that people have occupied their homes. So imagine he goes through the neighborhoods of Jannah and he says, I dont see anything. It looks like all the houses are occupied. So he comes back to Allah swt and says, "Ya Rabb, the people have taken all of the homes, what do I do?" And Allah swt says to him, "Do you even remember the time that you were in?" Like, do you have any recollection of time, do you know where you are? Do you know how long you were in hellfire? Do you remember your existence in dunya before going to Jahannum for all of those years?
He says, "Yes." So, Allah swt says to him: "Tamanna. Make a wish."
So, he's going to think and say, "I wish for something and for the entire kingdom of the world," meaning everything that existed of Mulk, of kingdom that this dunya ever possessed, everything from Suleiman AS's kingdom, Dawood AS's kingdom to Firaun and Qaroon, I want it all to be given to me."
Allah swt says to him, You can have what you wished for - and you have the whole world ten times over."
So, this man just got out of hellfire, has very little belief in his heart, he is the last person to go into Jannah, he couldnt even find a house for himself in Jannah but when he makes a wish Allah swt says, you get what you wish and I'm gonna give you the whole world times ten, everything that existed in this world times ten.
If Allah, in His infinite power, can grant someone the entire world and even ten times more than that for having just an atom's worth of faith in their heart, then imagine the boundless blessings that await the believers in Jannah (Paradise). In Jannah, we will have the fulfillment of all our desires, exactly as we wish, because Allah, the Most Merciful and All-Powerful, has complete control over everything. It is a testament to His unimaginable generosity and love for His believers, and a reminder of the limitless rewards that await those who hold steadfast to their faith in Allah.

Knowing Your Why
Sister Maryam Hamza
Some days carry more light than others.
Have you ever wondered why?
It’s often not the days where you get the most done, be it chores, work, or studies, though there is certainly satisfaction in that.
Rather, it’s those days that you fill with meaning, whether it’s immersing in nature, making loved ones happy, or allotting time to pursue something you’re passionate about outside of any obligation.
But the truth of life is that these moments of freedom from responsibility and commitments are few and far between.
So how do we combine that feeling of excitement and peace of doing what enthralls our souls with our everyday tasks and duties?
By elevating our deeds with higher intentions.
We channel our purpose into everything we do, instead of making those individual actions our purpose in life.
And what is our purpose? What is the Why behind all our pursuits?
To worship Allah.
And worship includes a vast spectrum; it is all the words and deeds, inwardly and outwardly, that please Allah.
It comprises all the beautiful and beneficial things that our Lord loves and that lead us to His Love.
The Worthwhile Accomplishment
A person could have the whole world resting on the palm of their hand.
They could have the best qualifications and most renowned career, they could sport the most flashy cars and live in a house that gets featured in Architectural Digest, but they can still dwell in misery.  They can still miss the point of life and feel adrift in a dark ocean with no beginning and no end.
However, the person who lives with the bare minimum, who is struggling to make ends meet and doesn’t even have the facilities to admire the mansions featured in Architectural Digest, that person could be completely satisfied and ready to smilingly help anyone they meet. Why? Because they know why they are here, they know that this life isn’t the be-all and end-all, that it’s only-
“…A day or part of a day…”    [ Surah Al-Mu’minun: 113 ]
And,
“…The Hereafter is better and more enduring.”    [Surah Al-A’la:17]
This person recognizes that his deeds don’t have to be epic and grand, he doesn’t have to collect and flaunt all the accolades of the world, and he doesn’t have to possess any of the so-called markers of success of the Dunya.
All we need to do, my brothers and sister, is our best with what we have, and connect even the tiniest good deed back to Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى.
Remember the man who removed something harmful from the road and received Jannah in return?
[Sahih Muslim 4751]
Remember the woman who split her date to feed her two children and was promised Paradise for it?
[Sahih Bukhari 5649]
These small and simple deeds are made immensely significant because of the Greatness of the One we are sacrificing for.
My brothers and sisters, we cannot remember our purpose only five times a day or run to Allah only when something bad happens to live an enriching life.
We have to be always attuned with our purpose, treating every creation and interaction as an ayah (sign) from Allah, seeking Allah’s Greatness, His Beautiful Face, in everything we encounter and everything we attempt.
So, whether it’s dusting the house, cooking for your household, working late to save up for sadaqah, teaching children to marvel at the world, or showing kindness to a random stranger, use every opportunity to race towards the Divine.
We Always Need Allah
My brothers and sisters, the fact that Allah has absolutely no need of us makes His infinite Mercy, Generosity, Patience, and Forgiveness all the more astounding and beautiful.
However, while He is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy, He is also the Most Wise and Just.
Therefore, with His Perfect Wisdom and Justice, Allah has decreed that:
“Deeds are considered by the intentions, and a person will get the reward according to his intention.”
[ Al-Bukhari & Muslim]
And if you think about it, brothers and sisters, isn’t this justice?
Why should Allah reward His slaves for something they never even wished for? Instead, He gives us only what we strive for.
Let’s not forget the hadith of the first three people to enter the Fire.
A scholar of the Qur’an who taught others, a martyr who died fighting for Allah’s Deen, and a wealthy man who spent abundantly in sadaqah.
My brothers and sisters, we can’t imagine worthier and more righteous actions than these if we tried, so then, how do these people end up in the worst destination?
Because they forgot Allah and did these deeds exclusively to bolster their ego. In short, these people were worshipping themselves and their desires, not the Lord of the Worlds.
The Qur’an teacher only desired to be praised as knowledgeable and eloquent. And SubhanAllah, this shows that he had no knowledge or respect for Allah’s Book in reality.
The martyr wanted to be glorified as a courageous hero. He gave up Allah’s Pleasure after his death for something he wouldn’t even live to enjoy.
The man who spent in every imaginable avenue that Allah loves did not do so out of gratitude to Allah for His Provision-no, it was so that people would gasp and say, “How generous he is!”
[Hadith 6, 40 Hadith Qudsi]
And they got what they wanted- they were celebrated for a while, and then forgotten.
However, there was nothing for them in the Hereafter.
These immensely noble acts of worship were warped by their self-serving intentions till they became meaningless in the Sight of Allah.
My brothers and sisters, again, I reiterate: Allah does not need us.
But we are nothing without Him.
I recently read a hard-hitting quote that said (and I paraphrase),
“The person floating out to sea with no idea of what is going to happen to him does not need Allah more than those of us who are safe and sound in our homes.”
It’s up to us to take a lesson and never forget what truly matters - Allah’s Pleasure.
Reframing what Matters
Some hearts carry more light than others.
These are the hearts that tremble in awe as they remember the meeting with their Lord.
These hearts flood with gratitude as they reflect on His Favours.
Those that recognize that nothing in this world is more worthy than pleasing our Creator and nothing in this world can compare to an Eternity celebrating His Closeness.
Let’s time travel back to our Prophet ﷺ as he left Ta’if, bleeding and broken. He had been humiliated and despised, even though all he had spoken were gentle words of Truth. He had also just lost the love of his life, Khadijaرضي الله عنها , and his most stalwart supporter, Abu Talib, who had grieved him deeply by dying upon disbelief.
Allah’s beautiful Rasul was suffering extreme mental and physical torture that eludes our comprehension, and he hadn’t done a single thing wrong.
What would we have done in his place?
Maybe we would have desperately looked for food and water or some kind outsider who could offer us some warmth and shelter.
Some people might have questioned Allah’s Decree at this point, “What did I do to deserve this? How could life be so unfair?”
But Rasulullah ﷺ did not place his expectations on the people, and he did not indulge in self-pity.
In this dire situation, his first instinct was not, “How do I help myself?”
Instead, his attitude during the lowest and most painful moment of his life was, “What does Allah want from me?”
He never forgot that he is the ‘Abd (slave) of Allah; His purpose was to be of service and not to be served.
Here’s part of his remarkable du’a to his Lord in his weakness, humiliation, and scarcity,
“…So long as You are not angry with me, I do not care. Your favour is of a more expansive relief to me. I seek refuge in the light of Your Face by which all darkness is dispelled and every affair of this world and the next is set right, lest Your anger or Your displeasure descends upon me. I desire Your pleasure and satisfaction until You are pleased...”
[Ar-Raheeq-Al-Makhtum]
While Rasulullah ﷺ is undoubtedly the best of Mankind, don’t think that this kind of relationship with Allah is beyond our capacity.
In fact, if we build and strengthen our connection to Him in times of ease, we will inevitably be brought near to Him in times of hardship.
Even when we are in pain, we will never despair because we recognize that we have a Rabb Who cares enough about us to purify us so we can be the best version of ourselves.
As the Prophet ﷺ advised us,
“Recognize and acknowledge Allah in times of ease and prosperity, and He will remember you in times of adversity.”
[Hadith 19, 40 Hadith an-Nawawi]
My brothers and sisters, your deeds are as meaningful as your intentions.
Happiness in this Dunya never works out in the way you want it to, but Allah’s Promise is always true and what He has in store for us is Infinitely better.
When Allah accepts what you do and when He loves you and is pleased with you, then you don’t just have the world in the palm of your hand- you have everything. You have the Promise of a Home that is wider than the heavens and the earth, and what’s more, you will be able to delight in the Highest Company.
I shall end by imparting this profound du’a of Umar bin Al-Khattab that I hope, In Shaa Allah, you will learn with both mind and heart,
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ عَمَلِي صَالِحًا وَاجْعَلْهُ لَكَ خَالِصًا وَلَا تَجْعَلْ لِأَحَدٍ فِيهِ شَيْئًا
Allahumma  Ja'al  Amalee Salihan Waja'al hu Laka Khalisan  Wa La  Thaja'al Li Ahadin  Feehi  Shayyan
“O Allah, make my deeds righteous, make them purely for Your sake, and do not let anyone else have a share of them.”
[al-Zuhd li-Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal 617]

Response to a Sister Upset with Men’s Reward in Jannah
Sister, it seems to me (and to clarify: I am not a person of knowledge, just a layperson who is learning)—you have a fundamental flaw in your understanding of a few key concepts related to both life and the religion. I apologize if my candor is upsetting, it's not my intention, but I think we often tiptoe around these important topics and it doesn't benefit us to do so.
Some Questions to Think About
does it upset you that men do not have periods?
does it upset you that men do not give birth?
does it upset you that you're not able to urinate standing up?
does it upset you that men have to wear their pants above their ankles?
does it upset you that you can't grow a full beard?
does it upset you that men have to maintain their wives and families financially?
does it upset you that men are more analytic thinkers, generally speaking, and women more emotionally intelligent?
If the answer to the above is "No," then why does it upset you that most men desire multiple wives, while most women desire one man. In fact, just with the statement laid out like that, you can see the wisdom and perfection of Allah's decree—to the woman, what she desires (being married to a single man) and to the man what he desires (to be married to multiple women). This is like if you're at a party and everyone gets a single slice of cake. You share yours with someone but then are upset if anyone else also shares some with him.
Jannah
As for Paradise, then truly, our concern should only be with getting in.
That said, I've heard of women clutching their pearls over men having multiple wives in Jannah and it always feels so incredibly shortsighted.
Some Questions to Think About
are you upset that you have to work for a living in this world?
does it bother you that you have to seek out food and sustenance and then eat it intentionally?
are you upset that you have to seek out shelter and live in a house?
The you that was a fetus did not have any such worldly concerns, yet you were alive for a period of roughly 8 months in the belly of your mother, with all your concerns taken care of by The One Who Created You, and you were content because you hadn't yet learned ingratitude. The same Allah who decreed you would be in a safe place (as the womb is referred to in the Qur'an) for 9 months before your birth is the same Allah who has promised:
"I have prepared for My righteous slaves that which no eye has seen, no ear has heard and it has never crossed the mind of man. All of that is reserved, besides which all that you have known is as nothing."
—Sahih al-Bukhari 3072, Sahih Muslim 2824
And He has said in his Noble Qur'an:
"No person knows what is kept hidden for them of joy as a reward for what they used to do"
—Qur'an (al-Sajdah) 32:17
So will you then put your meager, human mind and imagination up against that which Allah has created? Who knows better what you will be pleased with? You or Allah the Most High? Just think in this world, how many things you begged Him for which were terrible for you, which you didn't get and you came to know afterwards that you were saved from a wretched affair?
"and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allâh knows but you do not know."
—Qur'an (al-Baqarah) 2:216
In addition to this, Jannah is full of only perfection. Everyone is young, tall, and beautiful. I have heard students of knowledge mention that the wives of men in Jannah will be even more beautiful than the hooris, and a man will leave his house in the morning, and when he returns, he will say to his wife, "By Allah, when I left I thought you were so beautiful but now, upon my return, I find you even more beautiful than before!" and she will say the same to him.
Death, sadness, rancor, jealousy, envy, hatred—all these feelings and more will be eradicated before anyone enters Jannah. So however you feel about anything on Earth will be completely irrelevant by the time we get to Jannah, by the permission of Allah.
May Allah make us from among those who enter Jannah. Ameen.
Marriage
In Islam, a man with multiple wives has to fulfill ALL the rights due to each one. That means that for all intents and purposes, for her, it's almost no different to being married to a man who has no other wives. She is still:
being taken care of financially
being taken care of emotionally
having her needs met sexually
respected and her family is also given their due respect
within her rights to have children from the union
Polygyny isn't for everyone at the end of the day, so you can write it into your contract if it's an issue for you.
To Be Muslim
Ultimately, what does it mean to be Muslim?
The only statement of the [true] believers when they are called to Allah and His Messenger to judge between them is that they say, "We hear and we obey." And those are the successful.
—Qur'an (an-Nur) 24:51

Let’s start Preparing for Ramadan
1️⃣ Purify your heart. -Do sincere tawbah. Reflect over your past. Repent. Turn back to Allah with sincerity. -Increase in Istighfar -Revive your heart with Thikr. -Give sadaqah as much as you can as it wipes out sins. -Let go of bad feelings towards others, because it only stops you from getting close to Allah. Ask Allah to free your heart from bad feelings. Try overcoming bad feelings by making Dua for that person. -If you’ve wronged anyone make amends for that with them.
2️⃣ Muhasabah. Call yourself to account before you are called to account. -Are we improving and coming close to Allah? -What sins or bad habits do you want to focus on erasing from your life? -Backbiting, wasting time, missing prayers. Start trying to change from now.
-What goals do you want to set for this coming Ramadan? -What good habits can we adopt in our life to improve ourselves? -Take small steps towards Allah: eg, start your day upon shukr by praying 2 rakahs of salat ad-Duha, remember Allah in the mornings and evenings, practice having good akhlaq with everyone around you…
Remember : the highest levels of reward in Ramadan are for those with Ihsan.
3️⃣ Increase in good deeds. -Increase in reading Quran. -Rawaatib (extra sunnah prayers) - house in jannah. -Qiyam al Layl.
Ibn Rajab said Shaban is like an introduction to Ramadan. So fast and recite Quran in this month in order to prepare your soul, so that its disciplined upon obedience. Because if you’re not used to extra worship, it will be heavy on you. So practice from now to make it easy.
Remember: People who are able to recite Quran and mention Allah before dying, it’s because their hearts were used to it.
4️⃣ Make yourself excited for Ramadan. -Spring clean your house. -Complete your assignments and appointments before Ramadan. -Stay in the company of those who motivate you towards striving to do your best. -Make up missed fasts.
Memorize some Quran to recite in salah. -Make a personal daily plan for how you’re going to spend your day. Where will you pray taraweeh? When will you recite Quran?
Make du’a to Allah to give us Tawfeeq, because we can’t rely on our efforts and plans and Ramadan journals.
No one will be successful without Allah’s Help.
‎اللهم أعني على ذكرك و شكرك وحسن عبادتك
Finally: Only Allah knows how many more Ramadans we have left. How many people have already passed away? How many people are sick and can’t fast this year? Don’t take this blessing for granted.
Ask Allah to help you safely live to see Ramadan.
Ibn Al-Jawzee said: “If it was said to those in their graves “Wish”, they would wish to come back to fast one more day in Ramadan.”
‎اللهم بلغنا رمضان وبارك لنا فيه🤲🏽 Allahumma Balighna Ramadan. Ameen!

Make us always stand up for the truth and join us with the prophets and shuhadaa in the highest Paradise, ameen!

why is the belief in akhirah important
