for a while mom has been trying to figure out a way that dad and I could go into business together somehow, but it's always like kind of awkward because he's really opposed to doing sketchy under the table stuff.
I think I finally figured out a good collab project though- dad's been doing a booth at a local paleontology con the last few years selling prints and stuff, so I floated the idea of doing a zine together about paleontology stuff to sell there. he seemed pretty on board, although I was thinking of doing like, a magazine with articles so I could get some typesetting practice in, and dad was clearly thinking of doing a more straightforward art book with preexisting materials.
mom got back from her bereavement trip yesterday and she and dad got to talking about the project, and it pretty quickly expanded to 3 art books, and then I explained what I wanted, and that got tacked on as a 4th booklet. and then we hypothesized about doing some buttons, and maybe I should learn blender so we can get some figurines printed (no way that's happening in 6 months lmao), and...
so I might have quite a bit of doujinshi work lined up over the next few months. exciting.

We as a society have got to get more comfortable with talking about jealousy. It’s where a lot of issues are rooted from. And it’s such a natural thing too. I’m jealous of the mfs who have a 3D printer. I want one. Do I have a need for one at all or even know how to use it? Hell no so I won’t get it. But you people that do.. I’m jealous of you fr.

gantt charts are actually great i'm so sorry for making jokes with engineering people about gantt charts but at the same time i'd rather sink into the pits of hell than show up to my supervisor meeting tomorrow and say 'well sir i have this gantt chart'

Parents bought me paints for more minis and so I can enter the next competition the store has.
I need to start making my own minis again because I haven't been interested in any of the paint and takes for like 5 weeks.

a/n: unedited, not proofread, just for fun <3
dating jason todd as red hood is something you haven't prepared yourself with.
aside from being the eventual personal nurse of his, but also your crazy bodyguard.
im not just talking about walking you home or taking you safely to any destination. He know your schedule every damn day, in every second, in every minute, with your knowledge of course, he wants you to understand that he is your boyfriend, and that's his job to protect you, but that doesn't mean he wants to control you, just letting you know that he'll jump off a building for you, just your word is all he needed.
he's jason todd, he doesn't settle for less., especially when it comes to your safety.
talking about tracking device, not just on your phone, he's not taking any chances, he's putting it everywhere, making a device inside a pendant, that small unnoticeable earrings, even around the band of your rings, panic button disguise as a cutesy little keychain, or even a pink little wrist watch, to monitor your pulse, all those devices connected to him, monitoring you when he's away and he'll be damned if something happens to you.
"this is a very cute keychain jay," you beamed, looking at him as he hand you a new design of keychain he made using 3d printer.
"yeah, it got a tracker, just in case," he said looking at you, "call me immediately if something came up, you can press it, it's a panic button too."
you bite a smile, "you're the best"
well, you're in Gotham and he's not risking even a little bit, so you can't blame him either.
"if you see something unusual, walk the other way, got it?" he said with that slight commanding voice that he used everytime he's talking about danger or Gotham or both, to you.
you look up to him. "yeah, got it"
"don't hesitate to call me or press that button, don't try to fight, just run if you can," he said even if the idea of you running from danger spins his head and taste bitter in his mouth, but it's the reality, despite how much he wants you to be in safety, there are circumstances that you might get involved.
"what if i don't have a choice but to fight babe?" you asked, curiously.
which he's well aware of, but he doesn't want to worry you.
he turn his back to the stainless steel table at the side and grab something and take it to you.
"this is a switch blade," he said, despite his initial disagreement of giving it to you, not that he doesn't trust you but because he would prefer you not getting hurt in the process, "it looks like a pen but when you click this," he demonstrate, clicking the button at the top, then the knife no longer than 5 cm glints under the florescent light, "it won't kill a man but it can nip a skin that would give you enough time to," he paused, "if it ever happened which won't ever," he added emphasizing his words, "will give you enough time to run," he added, watching your reaction, "press the same button, the blade goes back in."
"that's so cool," you smile, wanting to try it now, but he pulled his arm away before you could get the weapon.
"i want you to understand that this is not something you can just play around, doll," he frowned, unimpressed of your smile.
"yeah I know babe," you said, looking up to him. "I just wanna try it'
"you won't use it unless, unless, you really really need it," he said, firmly, "this is your last resort, you have every means of reaching me before you use this," he added, "are we clear?"
you nodded again.
"use your words"
"i promise, i won't use it unless i really really need it," you repeated, taking his words to heart.
he sighs and hand you the cute weapon, it's in pink, with glitter details around the rim of the button. "just be careful around it," he said, never looking away from you.
you smile softly, "i promise, i do, I'll call you first."
he sighs, at least you and him are in the same page, "okay," he said, reluctant to give the weapon to you, "you have to press it with a bit pressure so the blade comes out," he explained, while you hold the ball pen around your hand, "so it won't be an accident, when you bury it in your bag" he added.
"does it comes with other colors too?" you asked, looking at the table.
he shook his head, "no, just one, I only made that for you," he said.
weeks later, he saw you opening a package using the very weapon, he only shook his head and smile, cause let's face it, he's your real weapon.

"As 3D-printing methods continue to evolve, it’s not uncommon to see this method employed for various engineering projects, especially in the construction of affordable housing, structures, and schools.
In Ireland, a first-of-its-kind social housing project has been built from the ground up, using 3D printing as a time and money-saving solution.
In fact, it’s Europe’s first 3D-printed social housing project, fully compliant with international standards. In Grange Close, Dundalk, the three-unit terraced build is now a milestone achievement in eastern Ireland. It was created by Harcourt Technologies Ltd (HTL.tech) and assembled using COBOD’s BOD2 3D construction printer.
The unit is 3,550 square feet and is divided into three separate homes, each measuring 1,184 square feet.
Tumblr media
The use of this technology allowed for a 35% faster construction process, which took 132 days from start to finish. During that time, the 3D-printed superstructure itself was completed in just 12 printing days.
Conventional construction methods usually require more than 200 days, according to COBOD, meaning this method could be transformative in quickly scaling affordable housing options.
“Ireland’s housing crisis, driven by a decade of under-construction and rising demand, has reached critical levels, leading to widespread protests and influencing national elections,” HTL.tech shared in a press release.
“The rapid construction made possible by 3D printing offers a promising solution. The homes in Dundalk demonstrate how this technology can address housing shortages by dramatically reducing construction time and costs.”
Tumblr media
In the 132 days it took to go from initial site preparation to handing over keys to the client, builders say approximately half of the time savings came directly from 3D printing.
Additionally, during the project, COBOD upgraded the concrete hose of its printer, which increased its output by 40% and significantly increased the printing speed. With this upgrade, the company estimates that printing times for similar structures would be reduced to nine days instead of 12.
“We continue to improve our technology,” Henrik Lund-Nielsen, general manager and founder of COBOD International, said in a statement, “and although a hose update can be seen as a small step, the numbers from HTL.tech proves that it is not.”
Now, the client — a local housing council — will finish furnishing the homes and will rent them to social housing tenants at an affordable price.
Tumblr media
It’s a success that will surely have ripple effects.
“As the first 3D-printed social housing project in Europe, the Grange Close development sets a precedent for future housing solutions,” a press release from HTL.tech explained. “With countries like Sweden and Germany also experimenting with 3D-printed homes, this technology is poised to become a standard approach for addressing housing shortages.”
The statement also added that governments across Europe may increasingly adopt 3D printing to “deliver faster, more cost-effective housing solutions for low-income residents.”
“This project not only showcases the potential for rapid, sustainable construction but also serves as a blueprint for other nations facing similar challenges,” the statement concluded. “As 3D printing technology evolves, its role in shaping the future of housing construction looks increasingly promising.”"

not in particular. But something similar people are always claiming is "too expensive" and then fuck up their machines by adding parts that are not tested for their safety.
