This is just something I did for my art class

I take every opportunity I get to draw something spooky month themed in that class BAHDJSJ

it's been a while since I did a big post, let's do one about food

kazakh food in general is very simplistic, with most of them being some combo of dough, meat, potato, and/or carrot, but all of them taste amazing when done right

the main one that most people think when they hear kazakh food is beshparmak (besparmak/ бешпармақ). comprised of horse or lamb meat or fish if you're in the western regions, flat dough, and potatoes, it's very fulfilling and all in all a very good time when I have it. you might see different variations in the distribution of the meat, the northern kazakhs putting more, with southern kazakhs putting less, in general the beshparmak you'll find will be consistent. it's also usually eaten by hand, coinciding that is that beshparmak can be translated into "five fingers" from kazakh

something thats less stuffy is baursak (бауырсақ), they're crispy, usually hollow balls of fried dough, that are absolutely amazing with sour cream or any dip or topping you can think of, with ones freshly made being the best

one meal you can find almost everywhere in kazakhstan is samsa, very similar or basically identical to a samosa, you can find samsa being sold in almost every small restaurant, usually in food stands, works well with beef, chicken or cheese inside.

not exactly exclusive to kazakhstan, but the shashlik here is some of the best in my opinion, with it being just charcoal grilled meat, lamb being the best. goes well with just about anything, especially with rice, or more shashlik

there are tons more I can mention, but I'll get too hungry by then to finish this post, doing some research will open up a whole new culinary world for you guys
