To be honest I loved a lot of their songs already before going to the concert, but after it I became fully invested hahah (I supposed gained the Atiny status). I saw them in Brussels in the previous Break The Wall tour and I'm just having my fingers crossed that they also come this year because I need to experience it again hahah. But oh my god, it was so amazing, like I was in the daze the following days just rewatching the videos on my phone and listening to the setlist on the loop, and after that I stitched all the videos I had into a full length vid for rewatch purposes hah

Like it was so hype, the vibes were amazing, they did so well, they had also super nice interactions with the audience and so on, Jongho's high notes live are insane, just 11/10 oh ym god

So like, I'm literally 6 years into having New Daily Persistent Headache and Fibromyalgia/probably Sjogren's Syndrome, which basically means I've had some flavor of migraine 24/7 since Feb 27 2018. My capacity to do like, literally any kind of creativity has goddamn motherfucking shitkicking cuntscruggling TANKED over the last several years. I am, mentally speaking, not doing great!

So instead of writing I spend a lot of time thinking of Very Silly AUs of writings I might, one day, maybe, attempt to commit to. The stories I spend many hours huddled in the dark thinking about are stories so displaced from any kind of canon there's really no point in trying to write them down and share with all of y'all. They're for me as a distraction from how much pain I'm in so many hours of every single goddamn shitkicking day of my life. More specifically, migraine hell is quelled at least a little bit by very silly Time Travel AUs of Bad Times Happen To Your Faves AUs.

So this week I'm thinking about an AU where Edward Elric loses his right arm again for keepsies years post-canon, adopts a kid OC, realizes that the way he defeated Pride accidentally turned him into a homunculus comparable to Bradley, and decades later finds himself temporally flung right back into the shittiest time of his life (AKA the canon timeline).

Is this any kind of fic worth writing? Not really, not without like, at LEAST 300k worth of pretense. In my hunchbacked hating life and physical sensations day-to-day life however? Yeah, yeah, it's funny. It's silly and pointless and poignant and distracts me by thinking of ways how an older Ed could manipulate canon events (or at the very least convey them to canon versions of everyone before the canon shit can hit hit the canon fan). It's all Very Funny and Interesting to me. Will I ever write it? Absolutely not. Will it live rent-free in my brain for years to come? Oh, abso-fuckin'-lutely. Time Travel AUs of Wild AUs I'll Never Commit To Publically are the bread and butter of my brain's capacity to tolerate like, existence, at this point in my life.

Also its spooky month! So im in the mood to made smthng like thiss,, (also can someeone recommend scary stories videos on yt plisss)

➳ Literally the only reason Bakugou was doing this was because Sero provoked him saying he was a scaredy-cat

➳ You and Mina were holding each other, Sero and Kirishima’s faces were pale but they still managed to keep their cool, Kaminari recorded the whole shit, both excited and scared at the same time

➳ Then Kaminari went to the chair and wave his arm there, as if trying to grab something unseen

➳ “Kaminari, what are you doing---”

➳ “Trying to see whether I can touch the ghost or not.”

➳ He then pushed the chair away from its position but not even a moment after that, the chair moved back on itself to its original position

➳ “FUCK!” Kaminari yelled

➳ And yes, many shit goes down after that but fortunately (or maybe unfortunately idk u decide) you didn’t see anything else

➳ Just some minor things like things moving on its own and stuff

➳ Eventually you guys gave up

So this is Suga’s first log! I love that fluffy black hat he’s wearing!! Obviously the heating is still not great in the studio since he’s also bundled up in a thick jacket ☹ I don’t have much else to muse about for this this video as it’s pretty short and not much happens or is talked about. It’s mostly Suga trying to make a log but laughing and complaining at Rapmonster constantly distracting him in the background. They obviously get on well both as colleagues and friends and it’s nice to see the two of them messing around having fun. So far they have tended to be the quieter, more serious, members of the band so I love seeing them act in a silly manner. I also look forward to hearing more from Suga in the future when RM isn’t distracting him!

Reading through the translation it seems RM is back on the path of feeling lost “a deserted island among my friends” - only it seems worse this time. He talks about being an adult now but all of his music peers have found success but he hasn’t yet. He doesn’t feel like there is a path for him, that he is stuck, and there’s no fuel to move him forward. His friends are suggesting he goes to college instead but RM doesn’t want to give up on his dream. My heart goes out to him. It really does. What he wants seems to be insurmountably far away to him (although it actually isn’t really – hindsight really) and I want to say I am so proud and very impressed that he got through that hard time to become the star he is today.

This was so cute. A short compilation of clips of them messing around, dancing, laughing, and running about, having fun together behind the scenes of their little music video (This was in the last lot of BTV videos I watched). Can I just say wow at Jimin’s running cartwheel!! Lol, at least Jungkook tried. However, Jungkook’s basketball shot was also pretty impressive too!

The three of them seemed to get on well. There is definitely a tight little friendship developing between them – particularly between Jimin and Jungkook. I noticed in the scene where they are in the café and crowded around the laptop that Jungkook was comfortable getting so close to Jimin he was millimetres from resting his chin on his shoulder. It was cute and only of note because he seemed such a shy boy in other series and appeared a bit uncomfortable with being overly touchy-feely (like a typical teenager). It makes me wonder if his discomfort was more rooted in doing those softer kinds of things in front of the camera rather than doing them fullstop. This is another reason I am so keen to watch these videos – we are more likely to see who they really are and what they are like in real life when there is less editing and scripting involved. Even these more candid videos will never be true reflections either unless it’s a moment where they genuinely don’t realise they are getting filmed. I do wonder how Jimin and Jungkook’s friendship pans out over the years though. There wasn’t much in Carpool Karaoke to make a judgement but I remember it was Jimin, J-Hope, and Jungkook in the middle seats which suggests to me they remain fairly close.

My finale musing on this video is, yet again, another moment of marvelling how this little cutie grew into this beautiful man.

As soon as I saw these two I was ridiculously excited. I feel like this, so far to me, is an odd pairing and I can’t wait to see what they are like together :D Thanks to Hopeful Mang in the Youtube comments for the translation.

Okay, now that I’ve seen the video and read a vague translation I can’t help but laugh on rewatching. There doesn’t seem to be anything of note in what they say, however their antics were hilarious and silly and I’m still not entirely sure I understand what they were on about lol. What I most noticed was just how confident and talkative and generally at ease Jungkook was with J-Hope, like just J-Hope’s presence was enough to push back Jungkook’s shyness. It was so lovely to see! It’s clear the two of them get on well and spend quite a bit of time together. There was definitely a big brother / little brother vibe going on and I wouldn’t be surprised to learn if J-Hope was one of the ones who looked out for Jungkook the most back then – and brought him out of his shell. I mean, J-Hope is just a ball of sunshine – who wouldn’t be buoyed up in his presence?!

J-Hope starts off by commenting the colour scheme is black and white. RM says this is coincidental but emphasises that the band is one that works well together without having to say a word. J-Hope agrees they are an awesome team. So… this is the first time in these BTV vids that I’ve seen RM talking about the band being a team and talking to another member as a teammate, which is an interesting and positive change to behold. Only a month ago (4 videos up) RM was talking as though he had no path and was somewhat lost in what he was doing with his life. This ‘team talk’ is a significant change in direction. How deep RM is in this change remains to be seen but it’s good to see him interacting with the others in a band-like way. I’m wondering if there has been significant movement in forming the band behind the scenes since the start of February. There were barely any logs between this one and RM’s one where he was describing himself as a deserted island so it’s possible their time has been spent working on the band – which, if the case, brilliant!

Lol, RM asked J-Hope what he had done that day. J-Hope said he’d been relaxing and watching a movie and could not be more vague about said movie – he really gave it a stellar review lol. RM said he had been around Seoul looking for music inspiration but ended up resting instead and being distracted by pretty girls. J-Hope says this is pretty typical of RM, suggesting he knows him and his habits fairly well by now.

Then it gets super interesting as they say their schedule for the week ahead is packed because BTS debut day is approaching. I wonder if that’s what’s got RM suddenly talking about teamwork? Perhaps now that things are gearing up for a debut he’s feeling like he finally has a focus – a path. The question is, does he still, deep down. think about himself as a soloist or is he now becoming accustomed to the idea that his future lies in a band? Does he truly think the band will work out? It’ll certainly be very interesting to see how this plays out over the following weeks.

Final musings on this video: RM and J-Hope seem comfortable with each other but not super-comfortable with each other. There’s not the same silliness between them as there was between RM and Suga or J-Hope and Jungkook, which suggests to me that at this point they have a friendly colleague-type relationship but are not yet super-close.

It’s probably much later in the day. Suga tells us that the song playing the background is “Fly” by Epic High, which he says guided him into the world of hip hop. He says this song made RM and himself choose to rap and further explains that in 2006, while in elementary school, it was this song that made him decide he wanted to rap. This small titbit gives us such a little insight into how Suga got into rapping and just how long he’s wanted to be a rap star for. The fact that he knew so early on what he wanted to be and is still working hard to make that dream come true shows just how dedicated he is and just how well he knows himself. He finishes his log by saying when he’s tired and exhausted, like he is today in the video, he listens to this song “Fly” and it inspires him to make good music.

It’s Suga’s birthday!!! <3 He says he used to anticipate his birthday when he was younger but not anymore now that he is older.

Then J-Hope, Jimin and RM come into the studio singing happy birthday and carrying a cake. Suga says it’s too cliché but seems pretty pleased by the gesture. He blows out the candles, J-Hope punches his arm a few times, which Jimin then wants to do but can’t because he’s holding the cake. Suga tells J-Hope to quit with the punching. RM says to turn up the music and Suga ends the log.

It’s sweet to see them celebrating each other’s birthdays. I hope as the years go on we get to see them do this for every member! I wonder if they buy each other presents – with 7 in the band that could get complicated and expensive lol.

This seems to be a few days out of sync with the video for Suga’s birthday but it’s no big issue. Thanks to nana na in the Youtube comments for the translation.

Jungkook is almost painfully cute at this age. He starts by saying he still feels shy shooting a log alone and is not sure what to talk about <3 He says the background music is what he has recently been learning choreography to and finds the dance moves funny and exciting. He also says he is really tired and sleepy but he still has things to do and will go to bed after finishing them because he promised. This concerns me a little. There’s nothing to indicate the time but it does look like it might be pretty late in the day. He’s still young, still at school (presumably a school night since 06/03/13 UK date was a Wednesday) and he’s also working on band things. The fact that he said he promised to go to bed to someone means that someone else – much closer to him than the fans - thinks he has been working too much and not getting enough rest ☹

J-Hope says he walked in as Suga was going to record a log (he calls him by his real name Yoongi, and I forgot that even back then they were probably pretty new to their stage names and probably don’t call each other by their stage names behind the scenes). Suga is quietly sitting up the back. J-Hope says he wasn’t planning on playing any background music but he liked the MR so he let it play – it reminds him of cherry blossoms and first love. He says he thinks he should work on a song like that. However, he is extremely busy as reality is approaching. [I guess he means the band’s debut]. He admits he has been sleeping less and working hard and hopes the results will reflect how much work he is putting in right now. He finishes the log by saying they should all go to the cherry blossom festival, in which Suga agrees. I find it simply beautiful that BTS have grown up in a culture where their masculinity is not questioned because they want to see some pretty flowers.

i've been thinking about how much sam and colby's stories infuriated me last night and... I get that they're traveling for 25x25, it's their job and in my mind they take a lot of necessary precautions (keep to themselves, try to stay out of crowds, etc). youtube is already not doing good, imagine if they didn't put some effort on top of that. But the party bus was a crossed line for me, and I wonder if it's because I'm pissed they're having the fun they want to have and I'm not - I don't mean they're partying and I'm not, I mean they wanted to party, so they did, whereas I want to do X but I can't right now. So I wonder if my irritation comes from there. Absolutely pissed that people they're not traveling with joined tho lol (and I love Kat), not just at them but at SnC for allowing it too. That move was 100% selfish of them imo

Yes, this 100%.  I think a lot of people’s anger and annoyance comes from seeing people doing something that they can’t do right now.  I saw one person say, “I feel like they’re rubbing it in our face,” and I think that’s what it stems from.  They aren’t doing that, of course- but perception is key, and that is exactly how it is coming across. 

Also, on the youtube issue: I’ve been pretty vocal in the past about my feelings on the whole 25x25 thing and what they’ve been doing up to this point- I was looking this morning and I saw some people saying, “they could just stay home and do content from their houses,” and the logical, analytical part of my brain that thinks about figures and numbers and view counts (too much time in the corporate world will do that to you) immediately started thinking, “Well thats what they’ve been doing all of this time on their personal channel vids, and those are tanking (outside of the tiktok vids, which everyone in the fandom seems to hate) and I know if they decided to say fuck it and join twitch now, they would get absolutely flamed by everyone saying they were only doing it for the money, jumping on a trend, etc, so they are kind of in a weird boat right now.”

Youtubers who do travel content are in a rough spot right now, because they are known for...travel content.  If they don’t do the content they are known for, their views go down.  If they do the content they are known for, they are now traveling in a pandemic.  If they don’t do anything, there goes their income and their platform as people slowly lose interest and turn away.  So, it’s a fine line to walk.

So my first thought was them going back to doing abandoned stuff that is within driving distance of them, to limit travel/exposure, but still put out content they are known for.  That would be an easy fix.  But obviously, they have concerns about doing that for legal reasons and that’s completely valid, given their (literal) record, so if they don’t feel comfortable doing that, then fine.  

So, because I am just in general more of a, “Let’s come up with a solution to this problem rather than stand and scream about the problem all day,” person, I started thinking about things they could do that could keep them relevant and help them with their platform/income for the next couple of months until herd immunity kicks in and they can start this whole thing up again.  Here’s what I came up with:

twitch streams or podcasts on their main yt channel where they tell in depth stories about their travels- they could even do a rewatch of their older videos and tell us behind the scenes stuff about them.  Maybe do one of two of those a week.  Hell, they could do it on a stream somewhere, record it, and upload it onto their yt channel later. Best of both worlds.

they could do more of those virtual ghost tour type things that you can do in your car, like what they did on Sam’s channel.  I bet there are a ton of those out there- I did one in Gettysburg years ago, so it’s not a new concept.

Virtual tours that are being offered on National Parks websites or travel websites, or virtual ghost tours being offered on websites- a watchalong of those.  Could be fun!  They could go to the Louvre if they wanted to. 

Pepper in the occasional real trip to a place that is open and socially distant/safe to visit.  National Parks, again, are a good place to start, but I’m sure they can find other stuff even within the general California area that are cool, interesting, and not a packed building full of tons of people.  

I mean, these are 4 ideas I came up with after 5 hours of aleep, before I had my first shot of caffeine of the day, and I am not a creative youtuber, I am just a corporate schlub.  Imagine what they could come up with if they got creative and thought outside the box.

Anyway, with this whole controversy brewing, I think their best bet now would be to postpone the 25x25 and do something else for a few months until things are calmer.  I don’t think they necessarily went into this thinking, “Fuck this pandemic shit, we’re YoUtUbErS!”, I do think they went in with intentions of staying what they deemed as “safe” and still being able to produce content, and until now it hasn’t been an issue so they kept it going.  But they did the old Icarus thing and flew to close to the sun on this one.  Time to come down a little more before them wings burn off.

im not going to call you a hypocrite, because youre trying and youre educating yourself and thats all i can ask from anyone. its hard to part ways with creators you used to watch everyday, youre emotionally connected to them.

parting ways with will and george was easy for me, i admit, bc i found their content boring lately (i never liked james that much—dont ask). its been hard to not watch alex bc i have been watching him for years and i know that he is better than this, but, as you said, white male creators get far more passes.

what im going to recommend to you, is try to find some new creators (yt or tik tok) or some new fandoms, maybe even explore some new genres. i just rewatched two john mulaney specials, bc he is proof that you can be funny while not being offensive. male youtubers who are mostly unproblematic that i watch: kurtis conner, dangelo wallace, dan and phil (dans inactive), buzzfeed unsolved. obviously everyone is different, so if you decide to start looking for new creators, you have to do your own searching.

im definitely guilty of ignoring things that i knew deep down were not ok and im trying to be better and hold myself and others accountable.

i didnt mention harry on purpose bc half of the time idk if its a coping mechanism or if he is trying to be edgy. i dont want to criticize a person that might have a drug addiction especially because i have never been in that position. he is definitely one of the most problematic people and sadly i dont think he will ever actually care. his friends will never call him out, his audience is more problematic than he is and he makes a good amount of money off his persona.

I didn’t want anyone in the Keating 5 to hook up. It was the first show I saw in a while where romantic boundaries between the main cast weren’t crossed and I liked that, I thought it was refreshing, I wanted to keep it that way and I really liked Asher and Bonnie and I thought Michaela deserved someone better, like I thought their sex scene in the bathroom was hot but I was like no, stop it, don’t do it and then they continued on with it and gave them a nice vulnerability that endeared them to me and then they had their next scene and I was like OKAY.

For the longest time, I was a Sooric shipper and then one day I asked myself, do I like Eric and Sookie over Bill and Sookie because I legitimately like the ship better or do I just like Eric over Bill? There’s also the chemistry: I think they were good at playing two people who couldn’t get on the same page but wanted to and Candice was good at playing that yearning but it worked because it was a dynamic that required Candice to be more assertive and raw and Paul to be reserved, that’s where the angst comes from, the minute they tried to do anything else I was like oooooh no this is awkward but I held on because I was deep into Steroline and then 6x21 happened and Paul and Nina, man, Paul lit the fuck up in that scene, it was easy, it was natural, it was chemistry just actual, honest-to-God chemistry and I was like … … … … this is why SC doesn’t work for me when they’re trying to do something that isn’t them being friends or isn’t them being on the wrong page, it’s just, they just don’t have it and frankly, if Paul and Nina had been around each other more in season 6 I don’t think I would’ve been as into SC, I remember being so conflicted about 6x04 because it was just Dobsley being Dobsley and I was like ………………………

I was drawn to their story for the first three seasons, Ed and Leighton have fantastic chemistry, their scenes are compelling and rich and emotionally nuanced and I wanted them together really badly, even if I watch their scenes now, I get swept up in them, but then he prostituted her for a hotel, slut-shamed her and gaslit her and I was just done.

Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover - whew holy shit this book was a doozy for me. one, she's like only the 2nd fem author i've read (i'm not much of a reader if i'm being honest, dont have the patience for it), it is such an emotional love story with great characters and it had me saying i love you to the loved ones in my life after reading it (but that may or may not have to do with the fact that i just have a lotta repressed emotions that this book, and sleep deprivation from binging it, managed to wring out of me haha). it's also pretty funny n quirky n cool n haha it's the first time i read a sex scene that wasn't on fanfic haha

A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler irl) - i. love. these. books. they are so freaking smart and funny and amusing and lemony snicket's voice is just so effing good. i havent read all of them tho. an unfortunate mistake that i still feel guiltyabout to this day haha lol
