I think a lot of the meta about Orym forgets that Orym isn't just an adventurer, he is a former bodyguard. His self worth is tied up in how well he can protect people and especially his loved ones. Thats why he sold his future to a hag, because its all he had left to give in order to be able to help.

Thats also why he seems so angry after FCG's death.

Otohan has killed his husband and father. Then him. Then he is brought back and told she also killed Fearne and Laudna. She killed Eshteross. She almost kills Keyleth. Now FCG has to sacrifice himself to save them all and kill Otohan and Orym was knocked out for it.

His job is to protect people and even with the added power from Nana Morri, it's still not enough. 6 years later and his loved ones are still dying and he can do nothing but watch.

(Spoilers for 4.5 Potion event (just in case lol I know I'm late on this))

At this point, I'm really wondering if we're gonna end up getting some payoff in the future for much Paimon absolutely hates Venti for no discernible reason. Because he isn't the only person she's been kinda standoffish with over the years, but he's by far the most consistent. Like, when you consider the fact that Paimon even warmed up to Al-Haitham by the end of Sumeru, it kinda says a lot about her apparent grudge against Venti by comparison. (And I love Al-Haitham to death, but I'm not about to say he's a ray of sunshine compared to Venti.) (Event interaction-related stuff under the cut)

The contrast to how Paimon treated Diona versus how she treated Venti when they came to the potion shop together was like night and day. I've been going around to all of my friends today and describing Paimon's reaction to them as something like "Diona omg hi it's so good to see you it's been forever how have you been!!! .........And Tone-Deaf Bard." which is obviously a comedic exaggeration, but also not entirely off the mark. And all Venti did was... exist? Try to help Diona out with what she was trying to do? Yes, he's going to get free drinks out of it but he also went truly above and beyond to help Diona find a new ingredient all the way from the middle of nowhere in Dragonspine. If he didn't care about Diona's feelings and what she was trying to do, he wouldn't have done that. (But of course, Venti does care because he's a good Archon and a good person and I love him for that.)

There are genuinely very few things that make me believe in the theory that Paimon is some kind of agent from the Heavenly Principles than the fact that she hates Venti so steadfastly. There's so much evidence that connects Mondstadt and specifically Venti/the Thousand Winds to the old civilizations of Teyvat that the Heavenly Principles once destroyed. For Venti to still exist in the world and let his people make their own choices in the way that he does, of course they and by extension Paimon would hate him. Plus, even if her annoyance with him started with his tendency towards being cryptic, why would Paimon care so much about what he knows? Why does one of his voicelines imply that he doesn't want to tell the traveler things with Paimon around?? It's just so incredibly suspicious.

The scene is kinda funny though when you look at how good Venti is with kids (how helpful and kind he is to Diona despite her wanting to get rid of alcohol, which he loves) and yet one of the most childish characters in the entire game absolutely despises him. Every day I wake up and wonder what in the world Paimon's damage is and if we're going to get a justification for it, or if this is sincerely just what the writers think is funny.

This is just my opinion but I don't think "just 2 boys kissing brought new fans" and it saddens me to hear this being repeated over and over again... This was a highly anticipated round because the characters had so much time to develop and people got to know them better than Sua and Mizi when the first round appeared or Luka in round 5.

2 characters that so many people loved and rooted for were going to fight against eachother and there was always the fear that one of them (or both) was going to die so, of course after so much time had passed between rounds and so much hype has been built up, round 6 finally droped and people went crazy over it (in the "this has destroyed me emotionally, well done 👏" type of way) and it is to be expected that such a reaction full of raw pain was going to attract attention and others would join because it's such a great story with amazing characters and a splendid soundtrack.

Personally, I just couldn't truly feel Mizi's pain until I got to know her better but with Ivan and Till I was already invested in by the time Cure droped so it hit 2 times harder

I'm not saying that there aren't toxic Ivantill fans or fans that came and are staying just for them afterall, it's inevitable but I would say that it's a small percentage and it's not worth the mischaracterization (I hope I wrote that right) of the new fans and of what the round 6 and it's impact actually was/meant

Everyone is always talking abt how much Link hates Oakworthy and they’re absolutely right but if you ask me the funniest part about it is that he’s trying to play it cool. Like he’s so goddamn excited to get a chance to shittalk Hermie but as soon as Normal expresses that he’s still into him (he needs him), Link backs off. He’s giving Normal a big thumbs up and telling him to go get his man, but then leaning down to whisper to Scary about how much he hates Hermie’s stupid theatre kid ass as soon as he turns away. He’s trying so hard to be supportive but every day spent in Hermie’s presence is a day closer to turning over a new leaf and excepting that murder is ok, sometimes, if it’s Hermie.

Imma be real with y’all, I am not the biggest fan of genderlocked games. Unless it is vital to the stories where there are discussions of gender, sexism or other things that make gender asa conversation topic, I find there’s no real point to genderlock a game that lets you customize the main character.

An IF where the game is a journey about a gay man dealing with his sexuality, sure. A game where a woman is in a world trying to overcome the hardships thrown at her, cool. An epic about some lesbians? Very neat. I like that kind of thing. I like stories that discuss real topics still prevalent but if one is writing a story that doesnt have any of that what is the point in genderlocking the mc if all other choices are customizable?

This isn’t to say the genderlocked stories are bad, there are many amazing stories where the mc is genderlocked for one reason or another. But those stories are for a large demographic I have difficulty relating to, and that makes me sad.

am i the only one who doesn't like the "stream culture"? like if you like a song, it's okay to occasionally enjoy it but you don't have to force yourself to listen it 24/7. and you definitely shouldn't force others. consumption of art matters a lot. while there's not a "right" way to consume it, but forceful streaming takes away the purpose of music and that song.

i wrote a 500 word dynamic poem for neo-twiny jam :-)

i rewrote this in a few different ways with a handful of different drafts before settling on just doing a poem; this originally came from a full branching narrative i've had stewing for a while, and i might come back to it one day. but for now i enjoyed channeling that into this poem, which has also been very influenced by the fact that i've been writing hungry vampires for almost 2 months now.... it was also my first time messing with audio in twine, which ended up being way easier than i expected (i'm sure it helped that i only used one audio sample tho)

faith does contain sexual content, and while not super explicit, it is the main theme of the poem.

Do you ever think about the fact that both Rose and Donna both were sure to stay with the Doctor forever, but of course it was not possible. And for both of them, RTD said "I'm gonna show you what's real tragedy" and then he managed to make two of the saddest departures of the show without killing any one of them because that's what a real tragedy is. It doesn't need death, it just needs to show that what the characters want is impossible.
