Not to be dramatic because i'm in this mia san mia life 5ever, but when steven gerrard left liverpool (and subsequently retired) i stopped watching football for like, a year or more? not as a sign of protest or whatever i just grew uninterested until the world cup brought me back. So i wonder what will happen if thomas does leave bayern this year (yeah i'm still hoping coman retires so they have to keep him or for bayern to change their stupid imbecile dumb ass minds) because, while i love him to pieces, i will not watch the mls for him so like... idk it's just really sad that participating in a fandom with a whole bi/pan cast of main characters has become completely unbearable to me as a bi person because of how normalized biphobia is. i still enjoy the game and its characters but whenever i read another playersexuality discourse with a whole lot of mental gymnastics and homo/lesbophobia accusations because someone dared to point out that these characters are canonically bi/pan and it's kinda insensitive to erase that i feel so exhausted and burnt out. somehow i never felt excluded or mad because there was no bi representation in cyberpunk2077 and never had a dire need of putting a bi flag over a pic of lesbian or gay character. i know there probably still are bi people who do that and there are these disgusting "bi mods" for homosexual characters but they always get immediately called out on their bullshit and rightfully so but somehow when the same thing happens to bi representation we're entering a gray zone of "well but their sexuality isn't defined" and "don't police other people's headcanons". this was infuriating at first but at this point i'm just tired of not being allowed to have shit because me having shit somehow ruines someone else's fun and their fun is more important than mine because bi people killed their grandma and forced larian to make Explicitly Gay/Lesbian-Coded Characters into these crowd-pleasing playersexuals or something

It's also kind of fun to have Hawke romanced to Anders sure but still have little stake in the chantry bombing.

Like I think if you're a mage Hawke or have Bethany in the circle, I'm not saying it isn't still an awful and scary situation but it can be a little bit of a relief that now you have an excuse to go ahead and just fight Meredith instead of waiting around for the day where she finally comes and gets you or she really tries to use Bethany as a bargaining chip.

But if it's neither of those things...it becomes that much closer to a betrayal.

it's so weird bcs in my first da2 playthrough i absolutely couldn't stand anders, i just thought he was the most annoying character ever (+ i loved him in awakening)

but after playing the game the second time - he really is funny, sometimes the banters are off, but in general his lines are okay? Before the Justice quest he'd be actually much more likeable if that voice acting didn't make me want to beat the shit out of him.

okay so. the thing with this ship is that. you have to understand i got back into it by opening a notes doc called ‘hawkebastian bad ending’ where hawke murders sebastian in the final confrontation instead of anders due to the whole “i am going to invade kirkwall” threat. I said “oh, I can do a quick angsty oneshot and get back in the da2 mood, this’ll be fun, it’s a very tragic turn for my Main Hawke (blue/mage/in a bit of an It’s Complicated with varric). That’ll be it.”

But then I played da:i again so I made up a new da2 worldstate and fell in love with Jessalyn Hawke (red/rogue/rivalmance Sebastian) so deeply that I still had a ‘look how they massacred my girl’ moment when I ran into The DA:I Hawke Situation. In my mind they’re basically a... it’s like they’re both the desperately lonely person trying to wallpaper over the void in their souls using the love of the other person in the relationship. I have this little outline—that I’m pretending isn’t growing into a Bigger Story—where somewhere post-leandra’s death but pre-champion fight, Jessa and Sebastian head off deeper into the free marches on A Generic Quest and stumble into a very quick romance novel where they’re Overcome With Passion in a barn and the next morning decide “oh you have to Take Responsibility For Me” and get secret-married in a provincial chantry and just... do not tell anyone about it. (there’s a lot of ‘broke my vows’ guilt for seb and a lot of ‘everyone i love dies’ fear for jessa but again, they’re both so so lonely and want to hold onto each other even if it hurts). Secret marriage! Complications! Jessa ‘murder-machine’ Hawke head over heels for Sebastian ‘burns-for-revenge’ Vael!

Does she still kill him at the end of the game? I haven’t decided yet! We’re seeing where it goes! They definitely make each other worse—but how bad could having someone that loves you really be?
