#i can't articulate it but i get the vibe that it's weirdly in part a remnant of george w bush era politics

i think one of the reasons politics seems to really break people's brains is because people see it as a series of (often moral) single issues instead of a chaotic and vast multi-level multi-player game where the stakes are real human suffering and lives

I feel like the reader in best friend!Felix is actually really smart, heck, let's say genius even, but is really oblivious when it comes to sentiment. The reader gives off nerd vibes, but they're so smart to the point it's a cool kinda thing. And if this was before Felix met Oliver, I feel like reader, like Farleigh, would get bad vibes from Ollie too but would be too shy? I guess, to say anything cause hey, they're new and stuff. I like the fic:) It's nice to read something like that, without the explicit content, I mean:D
A/n: omg love this,, definitely doing a bestfriend!felix blurb on this concept later, i just wanted to explore character dynamics for a second lol
fun fact: i originally pictured bestfriend!reader as a literal genius with -3 street smarts, it's just info that didn't make it into the fic!!
also i could see reader as being so smart they skipped a grade (if we want to add to the power/social imbalance by making reader a little younger, but not like weirdly younger) open to thoughts on this !
i picture bestfriend!reader as having an elle woods quality to their intelligence in terms of awareness (and maybe aesthetic, it is the early 2000's lol),, reiterating the most complicated parts of a lecture perfectly during a study session while half focused on applying lip gloss, aces exams while hungover (bc felix insisted on going out), and never registers how impressive all of it is
very much "what? like it's hard" but as literal as that statement could be
which could add to reader's shyness/uncertainty bc she forgets she's a little intimidating
okay but the potential of reader getting bad vibes from oliver if she became close friends with felix a little after oliver did?? too good
reader doesn't want to alienate oliver, he's the only one around felix that's also an outsider, that should make it easier to bond
but!! because reader is that smart, she has this gut feeling that tells her to keep him at arm's length,, but bc she's not the best at picking up on feelings, it's basically just that 6th sense thing that girls have that tells them when a guy has weird/unsafe intentions
bc reader can't articulate their concern, or understand it, they try to be nice, but oliver can tell that there's this distrust there
it drives him crazy
first of all, reader should be the easiest one to win over bc she's not one of the elites and she's a little awkward from time to time, it's frustrating that there doesn't seem to be a crux for him to use to weasel his way into reader's heart
oliver's aware that he can get close to felix without the others liking him as long as they tolerate him enough in public, but with reader, oliver knows more about felix's real feelings for them than felix does
that adds this timing element to the situation that’s stressful, because as soon as felix realizes how he feels about the reader, that will be that
meanwhile, reader is a little worried about being dropped bc of the tension between her and oliver, but oliver doesn’t fully notice that, he’s too distracted by his feelings
it's not fair, oliver "had" felix first, but oliver's perfectly capable of adapting to the situation, so he accepts it and looks at it practically
oliver knows that there is no fully "in" with felix unless you like him, so despite any resentment and jealousy he feels towards you, he decides that he'll do whatever it takes to get it

CTRL - SZA REVIEW
Tumblr media
INTRO
I have been gone for months and I feel like an idiot, it was never because I lost the passion nor did I lose the time but because I burn out easily. I also just have not been doing well lately in life. I have not been listening to music as much as I used to but I just needed a break on everything. I don't even know when I will come back to this but people in my life really wanted me back. My drafts have a few more reviews I been working on for the past few months I been gone so I'll try to continue to work on those. Enough about me and onto this beautiful debut album. This is Ctrl by Sza.
REVIEW
Sza to me is someone very inspirational. It is very obvious her music is very emotional but I believe this album is her most emotional piece of work. Starting off with SuperModel, we are already getting to know her. In a sad way though, its a love letter or rather a break up letter to a piece of shit dude. I feel some of us can relate to at least some parts of these lyrics whether we are on Sza's end or the guy, we all do wrong and we should all admit to our wrongs and move on from them. Continuing on the album we have the song we have Love Galore which is weirdly not underwhelming when it feels like it is if that makes sense? It may be the instrumentals, no it can't be its a vibe, maybe the monotone vocals by Travis Scott at times? No because he picks up after a bit. To me it feels like a song that should be underwhelming but its not which makes me confused but I like this song, catchy, and just fun. The song Doves In the Wind is very Lauryn Hill-esque to me. I think that's how I genuinely see Sza though like a modern version of Lauryn Hill, there's definitely a lot of inspiration with her pretty vocals, hard lyrics, and not afraid to let out her emotions sometimes. The Kendrick Lamar feature was also very fun and catchy but I think it's better that Sza stole the show. Drew Barrymore is one of my favorite songs of all time, it's so catchy and I think it is very relatable of course I am not a lady but I feel like I don't have to be to relate to the lyrics to me I see it as a lost love who recently came back in your life but seems to have moved on and it sucks when someone doesn't feel the same way about you any more, it's hurtful and embarrassing at times but Sza takes it as a chance to try and impress them by acting strong and confident and getting closer to them but I may be cynical by saying it doesn't end up working out in the end or at least that's how I see it as.
"I GET SO LONELY I FORGET WHAT I'M WORTH
WE GET SO LONELY WE PRETEND THAT IT'S WORSE"
The next songs are bangers but not enough to catch my mind to be honest, The Weekend is cool I just think its a little overrated. Side note I love how Sza pronounces her words, it's different not how you would normally pronounce it she has a good cadence and nice articulation. This album is surprisingly short but I feel like most of these songs are timeless. Although the album does fall a bit short with songs like Wavy (Interlude) like yeah it's a interlude I'm not expecting much but also not going out of my way to listen to this. Pretty Little Birds, okay this song has its highs but also a few lows like its not bad but its not good, I just also think it's a little boring as well. The Isaiah Rashad verse is a little lackluster to me but not the worse I've just heard way better from him. 20 Something, it's okay I rather listen to SuperModel though I don't really care for another song like it. I think it's a cool outro though, feels like a come down. So I see the album falling a little short after the song Anything. Like I feel the song Anything is the last good song on the album the rest are not bad to decent/alright. Coming in on a lighter note though this album expresses a lot of sexual freedom and touchy subjects most people are afraid to say which is awesome because I love people that can speak some real shit most of the time, like how woman love sex, they don't feel like shaving their legs all the time, appreciating peoples bodies, self love, heartbreak and the pain that comes with it.
"Do, do You Even Know I'm Alive"
RATING
Yeah dude this albums just dope. Like it's just intelligent, vocal and very beautiful. It's an album for anybody that feels down and need some inspiration. It's to cheer you up and know that everyone goes through these things and it's gonna be okay. I'm glad to be back and thank you for listening to my thoughts.

Thanks for reading this guys and yeah I'm sorry I been gone for like 6 months I always wanted to come back but life really gets in the way sometimes. I'm doing better and I feel more motivated to continue because like I really want to do this and it should not take me about 6 months to write, I'll be surprised if this post gets just one interaction, I'm already old news XD. Yeah but I got a lot of ideas on my mind and some drafts to finish, let me know what you want me to listen to next and please stick around for the next one, THANK YOU <3!
