watched batman begins. it was aight 😭 rewatched matt reeves' batman right after. liked it betterr. i LOVEDDD heartbreak high, s1 and s2 !! usually with shows i only like s1 best, but w heartbreak high i literally ADOREDDD s2, the finale was so good !!! im also watching the gentlemen (the show) rn, and i rllyyy like it hehe. tried watching tick tick boom again bcs I'd actually dropped it midway when it had first released bcs that one scene where she was like "you're thinking of a song rn aren't you" was so stress inducing that I had 2 click away 💀💀 n then i forgot abt it. picked it up again and omg it's actually so good how did I miss it the first time 😭😭😭

I came across only one last week and i found the plot to be very cute,,you're really doing a great job with it!!

You look like you know where you're going with it so i wanted to ask about how do you keep track of your ideas for the story and the characters, i personally use a notebook + notion but it tires me to transfer information from a support to another (digital to paper, paper to digital)everytime, i could have two good ideas but i can only use one so choosing becomes veryyyy hard, also sometimes i'd have an idea clear in my head but when it's time to put it into act, making convos (or tweets, but esp convos) seems veeery difficult taling into account characters personalities...do you have similar problems when writing? If so, how do you deal with them?

when it comes to writing ,, im flattered that someone would think i have any idea of what im doing n organize my ideas in any way but , i .... do not . everytime i post a new chapter i usually wake up that day thinking 'holy shit its been almost a week since the last chapter i have to post something' n make everything a few hours before posting , i dont have a set idea of where im going with it (like i have the overall plot down n how it should develop but it already happened that it went in a completely different direction than what i was planning so) . all the ideas i get r stored in my brain , no writing down no anything just hoping i dont forget them ‼️‼️the voices in my head keep them company fr fr /j

8 Anti LO Asks

1. I am, personally, of the opinion that you can rewrite the myths as much as you want (as long as you keep the characterization of these gods consistent, acknowledge that these are people's religious figures, and are respectful of the original myth/god's characterization). I personally am writing and entire story where 0 to none of the original backstory for the children of Kronos are used. In fact, most of all the god's backstories are changed. The problem comes about when you're a mythology expert, when your fans claim you're version is the true version, when you demonize gods and cause pagans to get harassed, when your fans change the wikipedia page for different real life religious figures to match your story, etc.

Greek Mythology is a playground for writers, since there really is no limit to what you can do with it. But you have to remember that these gods existed before you, and will exist when you leave.

2. I mean, Harry Potter is a badly written mess from a transphobic white lady and she still has fans claiming its the peak of fantasy and redefined literature over actual good series like Lord of the Rings or the Discworld books. LO fans are basically the same in their blind devotion, which is funny bc can't you guys can just like something normally? They don't need to claim it reinvented the wheel to be enjoyed. We all like trash from time to time, no shame in that, in my opinion.

3. @ the redesigning video: if LO fans cant tell who anyone is when someone tweaks even the tiniest thing from RS' designs, then she failed as a character designer. A good character design should be able to fit in multiple styles and still make sense even if they're in different outfits or not exact 1 to 1 in accuracy from the source material. That's such an unintentional burn on LO fans to admit they can't tell anyone apart in their own comic unless its heavily spelled out.

4. I can't not imagine LO Thanatos going home to his cave with Hypnos and just shit talking Hades while Hypnos just nods and cringes. "He's dating a 19 year old Hypnos!!!! A 19 year old!!!" "Fuckin, ew. What." "THANK YOU!" Sorry it's just so funny, and the only thing that gets me through reading LO.

5. On the an ask about Daphne's ears not being pointy in some panels, my theory is that a LO editor couldn't take RS' Germanic elves style and corrected it for once! RS does such a bad job at differentiating characters that she gave nymphs pointy ears - which was never a thing for nymphs in Greek folklore! - so we can tell who is who.

6. i think my big problem with lo is that i would not hate it NEARLY as much if it was just... an original story. with original characters. and maybe, at most, being INSPIRED by greek mythos. but because its meant to be seen as a ~faithful retelling~, i can't help but get super upset. these aren't the gods i worship, these are ocs with the names of the gods pasted onto them. (staying anonymous so i don't get harassed <//3)

7. God the mixed vibes of LO give me a headache! Are we supposed to see the story as one of corporate greed, indifference and death, or as a sweet romance where the characters go through bad times? Rachel please make up your mind before mine explodes.

8. it definitely was less refined and could often get a bit messy at times, but the early LO art at least had some charm and seemed to have thought out choices put in it, but now it's very flat and and even generic looking, even the colors arent aiding in making it look unique. where the early style used interesting color choices and dynamic long panels to tell the story, its now replaced by flat, static images that look like rushed first attempts over something done by 5+ people. its sad to see.

OK [cracks knuckles] I will try and keep this as short as possible, but you have to understand I’ve been observing the wiki in the wild literally since its inception, so there is a lot of stuff to consider. anyway let’s buckle up.

[EDIT: after finishing, this is obnoxiously long. sorry. I encourage people to read it though, because yikes.]

I base this theory on a set of guidelines set out for spotting if an organisation might be a cult. generally cults are religiously based; obviously this does not apply here. as far as I’m aware, nobody sees the SCP wiki as a religion (yet). because of this a couple of the points regarding spotting a cult are irrelevant (they concern things like separation from the Church which obviously doesn’t apply) but nearly all of the others (even some religious ones) can apply if we provide context. so without further ado:

Signs You’re In A Cult and How the SCP Wiki Literally Fits Into All of Them

let’s start with the most obvious:

opposing critical thinking

something that has long pissed me off about the SCP wiki has been its complete inability to think critically. staff will literally ban people for criticising them, and the parameters of “criticism” have only grown wider and wider over the years. anything that is the “party line” is sacred; nothing can be improved upon because it’s already perfect, and Staff Knows Best. any policy changes are law, and any dissenting voices are silenced – even among younger staff members (length of service wise, not age wise). I have seen staff put on probation or demoted for arguing against pointless or pedantic policy changes; I have seen people of all levels banned for arguing with staff. if this doesn’t happen right away, arguing with staff over their decisions will absolutely get a target on your back, and they will find a way to ban or demote you as soon as they can.

any criticism on the wiki is frowned upon unless it comes from the Major Staff Members – these are people at the top of the hierarchy who can do no wrong, and as you can imagine, they’ve done some shit. staff has always had a problem with elitism, bullying, and even abusive behaviour (blah blah blah #NotAllStaff, but the ratio is quite concerning) and any criticism of their behaviour or even pointing this fact out is dangerous if you want to remain on the wiki. hell, I know many people who are aware of this who don’t speak up because they’re genuinely scared of retaliation. a lot of staff are really nasty people, and because of this attitude they are beyond criticism.

isolating members and penalising them for leaving

the penalising them for leaving part isn’t strictly accurate, because as far as I know, nobody has ever been bullied or threatened into staying on the wiki. however, I do remember a while back (2011/2012-ish) when the Foundation RP community began to show up on Tumblr, and the wiki began to get a fanbase that wasn’t contained on the site itself. staff were not happy about this and to this day they still constantly try and get a monopoly on all off-site locations. they have an official Offsite Outreach Team (yes, that’s its real name) who “reach out” to communities on other platforms (YouTube, Reddit, Tumblr, etc) and set up an Official Presence there, and then they encourage everyone to use the Official Presence rather than the fan-made ones (which are often more established and better/more consistently run). there have been several off-site spats between staff and the fandom, because they arrive demanding the authority and respect they have on the wiki and get Big Mad when they don’t get it. just recently one (now ex) staff member, djkaktus, went absolutely primal on Reddit and banned a whole bunch of the community for daring to say that they didn’t like the new LGBT logo for pride month (many of these people were LGBT themselves and felt as though it was pandering/putting targets on their backs); several more years ago (2014, I believe?) I myself had a run in with the Outreach Team and it was one fucking hell of a headache that ended in a malicious smear campaign against me, so like. yeah.

as for isolating members, they do this via elitism. the above is an example of it (making everyone feel a sense of obligation or loyalty to the Official Presence), but a huge part of it has always been the elitist attitude prevalent on the wiki. the SCP wiki has high standards for writing (allegedly… I’ve seen some garbage on there tbh, same as any other website) and it uses this to bully and demean its users. criticism of writing is overly harsh but highly encouraged; anyone complaining that it was too cruel (which it often is) is ridiculed for being too sensitive. (staff have been working on this for years, but really nothing has changed; people have just gotten more between-the-lines about it.) this encourages a kind of desperation among new users to “rise up the ranks” and earn respect so they can be the ones dishing out the criticism instead; they will do so and then immediately act in accordance to their status, bullying others how they were bullied and sticking to their own “rank”. brief interruption: staff and bootlickers if you’re reading this and thinking of reblogging to defend yourself, the code word is yeet. if I do not see the word yeet in your reply I will know you have not read this thoroughly and tell me why I should then bother reading anything you have to say.staff themselves is incredibly removed and closed off from the rest of the community; they have a bunch of private chat rooms they hang out in, and inter-dating is common. they don’t tend to interact much outside the flock, and are the definition of cliquey. joining this rank is supposed to be an achievement, but really it’s probably the most dangerous place to be. I have seen so many staff members have literal, clinical mental breakdowns over the strain and treatment they suffer.

(there’s nowhere to neatly slot this in, so: I don’t know how many people have noticed this, but SCP fans, when you spot them on other platforms, are snooty. not casual fans, but those involved with the wiki? I can spot them from a mile away, because whenever the Foundation is mentioned, there they are, acting like they’re part of some cool club. some of these people are innocent (they’re just mimicking the behaviour of other members) but some of them really do seem to think that their site is somehow better than whatever site they’re on, and it’s really creepy to see.)

emphasising special doctrines outside of scripture

obviously this is religion-specific, but with context it can fit. if we take scripture to mean SCP lore, and special doctrines to mean differing headcanons, ideas, writing styles, etc… oh boy.

there’s something that’s often said on the wiki: there is no canon. buddy, there is. yes, you can write whatever you want technically, and you can disregard headcanons you don’t like and you can build on different things and theoretically people can just ignore your shit if they don’t like it, but that is not what happens. there is absolutely a canon, and deviating from it will get you downvoted into oblivion and even personally attacked. people will accuse you of the most ridiculous shit, like desecrating the wiki or betraying the universe or whatever. so where does the emphasising part of this come in?

why, it’s simple! if one of these special doctrines (headcanons or whatever) comes from staff or an Approved Member, it’s fine. go nuts. even if it’s something that anybody else would be absolutely slaughtered for, it’s fine if staff approves. there is no creative freedom on that wiki, and anyone attempting to carve a piece out for themselves will suffer for it. one of my close friends still gets hate for an SCP he wrote featuring heavy headcanons and building on existing lore about a well-known character, and some of this hate is because he didn’t set the fucking article out “how it should be”. 

seeking inappropriate loyalty to their leaders

oh boy. staff are god on that website. they’ll deny it, but they know it’s true. many of them are arrogant and, in my opinion, some of them are pathologically narcissistic. they think they are hot shit, and they encourage people on the site to believe the same. a huge majority of users on the wiki are high school students, so 15-18 years old. the next huge group are college-aged, so 19-22 or so. several staff members are in their mid-20s up to 30s, maybe even coming 40s or early 40s now. when you’re in your mid-20s, it’s very easy to look cool to a 15-year-old. it’s very easy to look at a young userbase and convince them that you’re hot shit, and that’s what staff do. they act like it; most users respond to it, and if anyone dissents? see point one.

staff have always had double standards. from the very beginning of staff, they have gotten away with a lot more than the average user. staff have been allowed to bully, ridicule, harass, dismiss, shit upon, and target people with reckless abandon, usually only meeting punishment when other staff members feel too inconvenienced by them. a lot of the time when they’re punished, it’s a lot lighter than it would have been for an average user (a month ban rather than a permaban, for example). this is seen as almost a point of hilarity for a lot of people, who think it’s cool and just a right you get when you’re staff. you know best, you’ve seen some shit – who can blame you for slamdunking a 15-year-old’s first SCP?

the amount of respect and adoration these people demand is ridiculous, and anybody daring to criticise them ends up on a shitlist. staff show up in other areas (Tumblr or Reddit) and expect that same amount of respect, even among people outside of the wiki who might just be casual fans. they act a lot more important than they are, and demand that everyone treats them appropriately. I’ve seen staff members throw shitfits because they didn’t get enough upvotes for their articles, and many staff members’ quality of work declines when they make staff, simply because they know that they’ll get easy upvotes as soon as people realise it’s a staff member who wrote it. downvotes are enough to get you put on a shitlist. 

publicly, their word is law. you are not allowed to debate with them in the forums if they put a “stop” on the topic; the same applies in the IRC chat. if staff says “stop”, you will be punished if you mention it again. you are allowed to discuss it with them privately, but I think that’s rather insidious, as staff have been known to twist facts and withhold information before. this gives them a public persona of always being right – and something else that cults do is silence dissenting voices so nobody who might agree can see other people saying the same things and feel encouraged/emboldened. 

crossing Biblical boundaries of behaviour

again, we’ll need to contextualise this. if Biblical boundaries are things like sins and all the stuff the Bible says Do Not Do, then in this context these are the wiki rules. staff (and their friends) will constantly cross the rules, as previously mentioned, and they will get away with it.

the wiki rules say “don’t be a dick”. I have caught staff bullying people countless times, and no doubt there’s more I haven’t caught. even out in the open, staff are argumentative, dismissive, rude, intimidating, and oftentimes plain nasty. the wiki rules say “don’t coldpost articles; get feedback”. staff is just out there throwing their shit onto the wiki and expecting an avalanche of upvotes in five minutes Or Else. policies are made that set parameters and staff changes them whenever convenient – for example, the long-standing rule that things that occur off-site are not the responsibility of the Disciplinary Committee (yes, its name.). unless, of course, it’s someone they don’t like. a major staff member bullies somebody on Tumblr? “sorry, it was offsite, not our problem”. someone staff doesn’t like gets into a brief spat on Reddit? banned for harassment. 

there are countless examples of this, from small things to major things like bullying, harassment, and even abuse (or enabling of abuse). staff will punish people for transgressions and then turn a blind eye to a fellow staff member committing a transgression that was ten times worse. they have even protected rapists and sexual predators in the past – another kind of behaviour common in cults, because that’s what happens when you combine narcissism and entitlement with total authority.

that’s the main bulk of it

but now the context has been established, here are a few more concerning things I’ve noticed (quickfire now):

cults shit on former members

and the wiki does the same. any staff member that’s grown fed up of the groupthink and the cliquey attitude and how nasty people are or who has been mistreated by staff themselves; any regular user who feels the same and vocally quits? shat upon. lauded as a bastion of whatever is wrong with the wiki. declared an Enemy and rallied against. it is so creepy.

cults use Us vs Them mentality, especially in language

broad declarations establishing a community and a community spirit in the face of adversity are common in cults. appeals to emotion and loyalty are used in a very manipulative way. catastrophising and fearmongering is common, too. I’m seeing this in how the recent drama with the legal issues is being handled. broad appeals to “defend the wiki”, hashtags being encouraged, emotional speeches from staff about how it’s a make or break situation… 

…and this is being reflected in the absolutely insane comments people are responding with.

the attitudes of regular users quickly grow concerning

people very quickly get obsessed with the wiki and it defines their lives. they seem to feel as though they owe something to it or they need to serve some kind of a purpose; many people try and “get the word out” and become voluntary spokespeople. they go around practically preaching, and I do not see the users of any other website doing this.

cults want full control over how they’re seen by outsiders

and the scp wiki does the same. as mentioned previously, when the fandom grew and spiralled off the wiki to other sites, staff debated for weeks over what to do. brief interruption the second code is shrek is life.they were not comfortable with the idea of the wiki having an independent fandom, and for years now they have been in constant struggle with offsite communities, trying to gain the same amount of control they have over the wiki. it’s impossible to do so thoroughly, and it’s clearly an annoyance for them.

cult leaders will let “lesser” members do their dirty work for them

and guess what staff does? rather than wade in there and get their hands dirty with internet arguments, they’ll sit back and let regular users dogpile on dissenters and say all the things staff shouldn’t be seen to say in public. note how even if this would violate the bullying policies, they’ll just get a warning so long as staff agrees.

final thoughts on games today:

Tl;dr: london is going to have Issues with a capital I, paris is fine and will be better w hanbin, boston were okay and them losing just solidifies how fucking scary and well-oiled nyxl is rather than boston being terrible. Titans, like usual, have no respect for their opponents and could be even scarier /if/ they wanted to be, valiant pops off sometimes but cant do it consistently, shock looks rusty and dallas needs to pocket decay even harder than they already are to win games.

london: i see a lot of potential in them, but until they gain confidence they’re c tier for me. They seem overcoached and lost when they aren’t unable to go through with their set plays, of which they way too many for each map. When they were able to play their game, they cycled their ults well, but were easily forced out of their comfort zone. Bernar tried his best to carry, but jmac looked lost and wasn’t able to bait nicodgh’s walls at all, that might be a problem w coordination w sanguinar for speedboost tho. babel wasn’t quick enough to get his walls out in time, though they were great when he did. Glister and highly tried their best, sanguinar seems to play very individualistically which gave london chances, but fdgod just outplayed him mostly. Once teams figure out how to play vs them they’re fucked unless the coaches move away from set plays and unless the team builds more confidence. This team is going to suffer with hero pools if they don’t fix something quick. London honestly and truly has a TON of potential, but not the coordination or confidence or coaching to utilize it.

paris: they’re gonna be scary as they get more coordinated! Can’t wait til they can run at full strength w better tanks. They made good adaptations and looked good doing it. Nicodgh’s walls were sick, nosmite looked great, fdgod is a fragger, xzi clicked heads and greyy and hyp did good too. Benbest i didnt watch. I really like what i see with this team, but we haven’t seen them at full strength so i dont feel like i have much to say about them. Definitely a dark horse for me. They should thrive with hero pools. 

nyxl: nyxl looks as dominant as ever. They’re coordinated, smart, aware, turn impossible situations around, and quickly shut down every win condition boston had before they could even execute it. Though whoru’s mei is def the weak link for me (his walls kinda suck. I think theyre just giving him stage experience here tbh. His genji slaps tho), him and sbb/nenne are a scary duo, everything that can be said abt jjonak and anamo has been said already (They are the best. They are the best. They are the best.), and mano and hotba are both doing excellently. I dont feel that this is their optimal meta, but nyxl has showed a lot of willingness to adapt to their opponents and make swaps, which i like. I’m not worried for them in hero pools, though they might stumble a bit. They’re solidly in S tier for me now

boston: This is gonna be controversial (and take this w a grain of salt cuz im plat.) but boston played better than i expected cuz im a pessimist and was expecting them to get completely rolled, and they at least showed some signs of life. They’ve clearly scrimmed a lot of different comps and looked at least vaguely competent in them, which is more than dallas valiant and london can say. They tried to go for a lot of clutches which never rly worked. they tried to adapt, but nyxl outmatched them and kinda drove them away. Axxiom and fusions were coordinated and i liked their dive, their double shield not so much. boston dps were holding their own, swimmer and myunbong were too, there’s not rly a carry on this team. axxiom i think is being slept on tho. They could definitely kite better and coordinate more, and make faster/smarter swaps, but they at least looked pretty synergized. They were clearly outmatched but they def looked better throughout the whole series than london did vs nyxl after the first 2 maps. Boston seems like a B- tier team to me, but they could be better and i do want to see them play more before im certain abt this. I’d call this a quality loss despite the scoreline

vancouver: Titans clearly didn’t prep much for this match and didn’t respect valiant as much as they should have. There’s no weak points on this team, just that all of them went for clutches they shouldn’t have and got punished for it bc they assumed valiant would be weaker than they were. Titans hate being methodical but are great when they are. When they subbed stitch in, they went for more dumb plays it seemed like, so i bet sms is the one keeping them chill. Fissure’s playing bumper style (taking space and dying for it) but quieter, which I like, bc it means they can pocket haksal harder and let twilight go for more plays. Good adaptations, great plays, great synergy, once titans got their feet under them and downloaded valiant it was over. Their dive was soooo clean. Nothing to be said about this roster that hasnt been said already (theyre the best). This is classic titans and im glad to see losing bumper hasnt completely stopped them from doing dumb shit, cuz even if it hurts me to watch its fun. They should be absolutely fine with hero pools, S tier.

valiant: Valiant only have one comp and theyre Very good at it, especially in the mirror, but theyre having trouble adapting to titans. They have very high highs and very low lows, they also try to clutch sometimes and fuck up. When the team pops off theyre sick, when they dont they… dont. Gig is a madlad. I do like that they prepped for the titan’s bap strat on lijiang and shut it down entirely, that was very good coaching, but they weren’t able to adapt to non-mirror matches after that. They might get fucked by hero pools bc they didn’t show anything successfully other than rein/dva variations, but we’ll see. I'm finding them fun to watch and I'm interested to see if they can consistently maintain their peak play. B tier, i think their weaknesses are more exploitable than boston’s but that boston would lose to them. Id compare them to hunters last year but if hunters played meta

shock: I didnt watch this match super close tbh. Shock looks strong as usual, but they stumbled far too much for my liking when they let doha and decay get value but otherwise incredibly dominant. Architect’s ana got sooooo much value as the series went on, beautiful sleeps beautiful nades beautiful nanos etc *chefs kiss.* i dont think shock prepped super hard for them, and they rly couldve adapted better on horizon and won that map, but it was overall dominant. They seemed pretty rusty honestly but theyre still good, but they should be pissed they got fullheld on horizon. I’m not going to draw any conclusions from this game when it comes to shock bc its one game and its their first game back. S tier, they’ll be fine with hero pools.

Dallas: Dallas looked way better than yesterday, when decay and doha were unleashed and it was less about taking space they were monsters. Tank play was better but not great, glad theyre not making note play rein anymore. Decay is a god and doha played around him really well and his walls were sick. When decay couldn’t play mccree and couldnt get support, there was nothing dallas could do. Gamsu… seemed a bit tilted and used ults he shouldnt have. There were also communication issues, it didnt seem like trill called some of his shatters which meant the team couldnt follow up. They weren’t able to adapt that well without set strats, and other teams will use that to their advantage. Once a team figures out how to shut down doha and decay the game is over. C tier, will struggle in hero pools

Über Deutsch

well, i have finished my deutsch learning in duolingo. wkwkwk, such an experience. to learn without teacher is not really my style, because i ask a lot and confuse (more than) a lot. how hard is deutsch? to be honest, harder than english, but much less than japan. and other language with (other than) latin alphabet, i guess. the grammar is quite different than english. but compared to other language in europe, i guess deutsch has the same level of them. with different point of difficulties. 

i started my deutsch learning because my friend encourage me to use duolingo. why deustch, simply because i had my class in deutsch as my additional class in high school. i thought it could be a basic lesson for me to continue learning it in duolingo. well, what we know is a drop, what we dont know is an ocean WKWKWKWK. believe me, the thing you had learned in high school was totally nothing and didnt help at all wkwk. in the end, i felt like being trapped because i cant just escape from learning it. i need to finish it once i started. so to be prices, how hard is it to learn german? here are the list

1. gender

this is the first world problem of learning german, and other european language ( i guess). most of european language has gender for its nouns. every. single. noun. without exception. english also used to have gender as well. but eventually, the rule vanished. why. idk. just google it. moreover, the gender are 3. maskulin, neutral, and feminin. how do you do the gender of the noun?

in english, we say the bird, the book, and the guitar. in deutsch, we say der Vogel, das Buch, and die Gitarre. all ‘der, das, die’ means the. Der is for maskulin noun, Das is for neutral noun, and Die is for feminine noun. how do you know a noun is maskulin, neutral, or feminin? well, you cant make assumption like “oh, the dog sounds more manly and cat is more like a girl. i bet the dog is maskulin and the cat is feminine”. in this case, you are right. der Hund (the dog) is maskulin and die Katze (the cat) is feminin. but, das Madchen (the girl) -- that is supposed to be total feminin -- is neutral. many of the noun is just random. you really need to live with it to know which gender are they. fortunately, deutsch also has rule for some of them. you can recognize the gender by its ending. like, the -ung and -schaft ending are feminin, no doubt. the -chen ending ist neutral, must be. the -ist and -ling ending must be maskulin. and of course there are still many other ending, i just cant tell you all of them. 

ah. and all the plural stuff is simply ‘die’. no matter of the gender in singlular, they become ‘die’ if you make plural

this, gender, is the root of (almost) all of the problem of deutsch problem. let’s have another one

2. case

this one another tricky stuff. in english, we only have subject and object. ‘I’ and ‘she’ for subject, so ‘me’ and ‘her’ for object. that is all. for the first learner from indo, it must be hard to adjust. because either for subject or object, we always use the same one. in deutsch, there 4 cases. nominativ, akkusativ, dativ, genitiv. basically, nominativ is the subject, akkusativ and dativ are object, and genitiv is well, idk how to say it. for example, ‘ich’ is for nominativ, ‘mich’ is for akkusativ and ‘mir’ is for dativ. that all means ‘aku’. or ‘du’, ‘dich’, and ‘dir’ that all means you. what is worse is, the ‘der, das, die’ stuff also change based on the case. ‘der’ become ‘den’ if it is on akkusativ and become ‘dem’ in dativ case. ‘die’ keep being ‘die’ in akkusativ but become ‘dem’ in dativ case. 

wait. genitiv. what is it? it is like “employee of the month”. ‘the month’ is genitiv. i dont know how to explain it. but, yea, that is the example. you get it, huh

because of this case, there 6 translations for ‘the’ in deutsch. they are der, das, die, dem, den, des. “ha? den and des? you dont mention it!”

believe me, you dont want to.

3. adjective

at first, i thought it will be safe to speak without ‘the’ in german because it wont problem you then. if you want to say “i need a strong coffee”, you dont need to think about ‘is cup a feminin, neutral, or maskulin’. let’s just remove ‘the’ from the sentence and i will be fine. but, deutsch wont let you escape from confusion

the adjective that follow the noun changes based on the (once again) the gender and the case of the noun. ‘a strong coffee’. 

what gender is ‘coffee’? it is maskulin

in what case is ‘coffee’. it is akkusativ

but, wait. what is ‘coffee’ and ‘strong’ in german? well, it is ‘Kaffee’ and ‘scharf’. 

so how do you say “i need a strong coffee”? it is “ich brauche einen scharfen Kaffee”

fyi. even before you think about the adjective, the article (in this story, it is ‘einen’) also affect how the adjective works. because ‘Kaffee’ is maskulin, it uses ‘einen’. if it is feminin, it will be ‘eine’, and ‘ein’ if it is neutral. it also work for 'my’ (and other possessive pronoun) and words like ‘every’, ‘each’ (what is the name for it? idk). well, it should be number 4. but, tbh i dont know how to say them in title wkwk. sorry

4. plural

just put ‘s’ or ‘es’ in the end of word to make plural. it is in english. in deutsch, you have more option, like ‘e’ or ‘n’ or ‘en’ or ‘er’ or ‘r’ or (of course) ‘s’. or, umlaut. the double dot on the top of the word. yes, it is called umlaut. are there rule? i guess there are some.  but i cant take it wkwk. 

5. verb

well, it is less hard than the 4 first. it also appears in english, like “i work” but become “she works”. you just need to put ‘s’ in verb for ‘he, she, it’ subject. or put ‘d’ in deutsch. there are at least 4 ways, put ‘e’ or ‘st’ or ‘t’ or ‘en’. here are the examples

“ich arbeite”, “du arbeitest”, “er/sie/es arbeitet”, “sie/wir arbeiten”. they mean “i, you, he/she/it, they/we work”. wait. there are 2 ‘sie’? well, actually 3. let’s move on to the next one.

sik, sik, lupa yang bagian ini. the perks one is, it also apply for modal verb (in english, you apply can, will, must to all pronoun), past verb (in english, you apply the same for all pronoun), and have/had (the have/had that works for perfect tense). can, will, must, past verb, have/had have their own forms depend on the subjects. in this case, it is even more confusing because they tend to be irregular. 

the next will be facts of deutsch. they not the hard parts of deutsch. enjoy!

6. pronoun

there are at least 9 pronouns you can use. ich for I, du for you, er for he, sie for she, es for it, sie for they, wir for we, ihr for you (plural), and Sie for you (formal). maybe you can translate ihr as ‘kalian’ and ‘Sie’ as ‘anda’. remember, ‘Sie’ with capital S. and yeah, totally 3 ‘sie’. how do you differentiate? sie that means ‘she’ have ‘t’ ending for its verb, and ‘sie’ that means they have ‘en’ ending for its verb. the to be is in the following

ich bin, du bist, er/sie/es ist, ihr seid, wir/sie/Sie sind. well, it is 5 in total. quite different from english that is only have am, is, and are

7. alphabet

they have total 31 alphabet, 27 common alphabet plus 4 that are quite common. the 3 are, a, u, and o with umlaut. remember umlaut? the double dot on top of the alphabet. it doesnt apply for alphabet, fortunately. only for a, o, u. so it becomes ä, ü, ö. it can be typed as ‘ae’, ‘ue’, ‘oe’. do you know the soccer player named ‘özil’? sometimes his name is type ‘Oezil’ on the back of his jersey. i guess the font is not supporting the umlaut.  

and another one is the ß (it is called eszett or scharfes S (means strong S)) that surprisingly pronounce ‘s’, and can be typed as ‘ss’. like in ‘groß’ that can be typed as ‘gross’ (means big, great, tall, but not dirty)

8. noun

the noun of deutsch is started with capital. always, no matter where it is. do you realize that i do it before? haha. just to tell you it is a noun. maybe its help you translate the deutsch. maybe

9. pronounciation

how does the ‘R’ is pronounced in deutsch? it is like you gurgle the water in the back of your tongue. but as you cant always have water in your mouth, you can use your spit wkwkwk. quite tricky when K or G meet R. because both alphabet is produced in the back of the tongue. but the sound of ‘R’ in the end of syllable vanishes. pronounce it as if no R there wkwk, poor R. 

‘why do i even exist then’ ask R in the end of syllable

other than that, surprisingly, it is easier than english. of course, in my point of view haha. i mean, deustch is consistent with what they have. the AIUEO and  ä, ü, ö sound like how they supposed to. the consonant works the same. the exception is just a few. (um, well, at least that is how i hear them wkwk). different from english, and totally different from french. wk

other than that, you will hear a lot of ‘kh’ and ‘sy’ sounds. the ending -en isnt pronounced clear. it is like you gulp it. it is like you gulp the -en. like how the british guy pronounce ‘button’. the ‘W’ is pronounced like ‘V’ in english. the ‘Z’ sounds like ‘ts’. the ‘S’ is like ‘Z’, but ‘S’ that follow other consonant sounds like ‘sy’. ‘EI’ is pronounced ‘AI’.

how are the umlauts pronounced? i cant really tell. the ü, ö is like the basic U and O, but not so round. im sure you dont get it wkwkwk. my pronounciation is not that good as well. just make it like you do more effort to pronounce it, and you will be marked as right

10. spelling

to be honest, it is quite tough. in one syllable, you can find 4 consonants (at least that is the worst that i have found). most of them are started with ‘sch-’. but, you will also find many ‘sch’ or ‘ch’ spelling anywhere. the common ones that i find are ‘schw-’ like in schwein (swine), schwer (hard), schwanger (pregnant), schwester (sister), schwarz (black)

11. tense

there only 6 tenses. past, present, future. double it with perfect tense in each of them. funnily, you use ‘(present) perfekt’ to express the action in the past (instead of the simple past tense. different from english, isnt it?). because the simple past tense and past perfect tense tend to be used for storytelling, to make it more fancy i guess. use them in casual conversation makes you being seen as someone pretentious wkwkwk. so, present, future, and (present) perfect are enough for common people

12. how do you say it?

here are some (i hope to be useful) phrases to know about

guten tag (hello), guten morgen (good morning), guten abend (good evening), gute nacht (good night)

enstchuldigung (excuse me)

there are some other to be honest, but let’s just wrap it here. i believe every language has its own difficulties and simplicities. as the beginner, i admit that i was shocked that deustch was this hard. i thought i will be on the same level as english. and since i’m not surrounded by german word, phrase, or culture it will be harder to learn it in a longer way. it applies the same for other language that bahasa indo didnt derive from. where the sosmed, movie, and music are performed mostly in english, it will be a challenge to learn other language

Me just trying to predict things Kung Fu Panda 4

Predicting the villain:

This is just some common sense stuff but I’ll say it anyways.

For species it’ll most likely be another animal native to China. Most likely not a feline, bird or bull since it would draw parallels to prior villains.

The main enemy will probably be female, as to break the series of male villains. They’ve done it to Shrek, with fairy godmother.

Dreamworks said, during the creation of Kai, “He cant go brawler, since Tai Lung was brawler. He cant go smarter, since Shen was smarter. Where can we go? You have to go supernatural, bigger, and even more intimidating.” Just like the Averngers franchise, there’s a constant law placed where the villains must get progressively stronger the more the series progresses. Without the villain getting stronger, there’s no conflict —or at least not enough conflict to top the lmovie before it. The villain in Kung Fu Panda 4 must be at least different from the other three villains, or attains two out of the three assets that make up for prior villains. For example, the villain can be both smart and supernatural. Or be a brawler and a smarty. I think particularly for this one, the villain would need to have supreme authority and immanent or supernatural powers. While Kai worked in solidarity in terms of mind, it might be possible that the next villain might actually be villains with one superior guiding over them (the main enemy Po will fight). A regime-styled cooperation, with a leader. Each person in the group is bound to have a one on one against one of the Furious Five. This way, the group can actually do something without compromising the relevance of Po since he’s still the one who’ll defeat the main villain.

In this light, what might be the conflict?

The problem is that Po is nearly a perfect character. Oogway said it himself: he is both sides of the ying and yang. To reach such equilibrium, the soul must be stable, and Po would have been ridden of all evil (check my mirror of yin and yang theory out if you havent already pls). This means that Po would have to break pretty darn bad on the next movie. Every story has a scene where it shows a character’s breaking point. But to break a character who’s both sides of the yin and yang... well, that character would have to put through a lot of hell. That’s why I believe someone’s gonna die in the fourth movie [insert Mr. Ping], or someone’s gonna be temporarily taken away from Po [insert Tigress]. And here’s another thing: the first movie is about body, the second is about mind, and the third is about spirit. What’s left? The heart.

So... these are the core factors that make a human. Flesh is where the soul lives. Mind and heart is what makes a person. You know what heart means? Love. You what love mean? Either romance or family. Now the third movie was already a little bit about family, so does that means theres a little, you know, romance? You know. A certain Tigress that can make Po master the concept of heart. 😏 but in reality, I don’t think drreamworks will make Tigress hostage. It’s not enough catalyst for Po to break, unless they make it seem like Tigress died. And I just cant see it either... too cliche for a story so anticipated. It’ll make sense of Mr Ping would die.

It doesn’t necessarily mean someone’s gonna die though. But the internal conflict must have magnitude near beyond repair, and will damage his heart more than anything else.

What’s the settings?

They always try to change the settings. Valley of Peace. Then to Gongmen. Then to Panda Village. The valley was more a traditional chinese suburb of sorts. Gongmen was an industrial, probaby tech-savvy city. And the panda village was a playground. This one is unpredictable. They might start the movie of at the panda village instead of the valley (which is sad); they took the thousand mile bridge to Mongolia, so the panda village may border Mongolia. And that may mean they’ll travel upwards to the bordering country.

Will the movie fail?

I started roleplaying online about 6-7 years ago, on amino. And it wasn't pretty. Now at 18 I consider myself a pretty decent Roleplayer. I'm no novelist in the slightest, but I am able to get fairly wordy. I'd like to improve my ability to roleplay by practicing with others of different literacies.

Many of my role-plays take place in some form of fantasy setting and they tend to get romantic. I just really like writing cute romantic scenarios. I'm an avid character shipper(not in the toxic way or anything) so I'm always open to discuss different characters and character duos.

Don't force my characters into actions. I really want to be in control of my characters in each scenario. If I feel like my character was forced into something, I'm really not going to want to rp.

If you're coming to me with a roleplay request, please have a bit of an idea of what you're looking for in the roleplay. Im always willing to help with plot creation for a roleplay but ya gotta meet me half way here.

A bunch of my characters swear like hell. I. Swear like hell. You don't have to, but don't tell me to tone down my language. I genuinely don't give a fuck to censor myself in front of strangers on the internet.

I go to school Monday through Friday 9:00am to 6:00 pm. I try to respond consistently but if I don't, please don't spam me. (i'm free for now, since it's summer)

My only concern is that if there is sexual assault that may go on for the sake of plot, (AND I MEAN TRULY FOR THE SAKE OF PLOT NOT BECAUSE ITS WHAT YOUR CHARACTER WOULD DO) please give me a warning before the message or somewhere before it gets intense.

Try to keep the plot SA to a VERY minimum in that same note though.

Group Project - Podcast Submission & Reflecting on University Teaching Block 1

I have now completed the mixing and mastering of our Podcast group project and submitted it for grading a day early. I managed to keep the length of the podcast to just 4 minutes long whilst also fitting in as much of the criteria information-wise as possible; I was also able to record what I believe to be a consistent voiceover with a very cheap cardioid microphone, I was worried that the levels might be difficult to match as well as the frequencies of my voice which can sometimes shift quite noticeably between takes depending on what tone of voice I speak in - however it was actually not a problem in the end and any minor differences were overcome during the mixdown as well as through various compression techniques most effective was probably the compressor on the master track (the picture below of my project shows the master track effects at the bottom). 

I am really happy with the sections that the guys created and also of course my voiceover and mix/master - its satisfying to know that we did the best we could despite the circumstances with the national lockdown meaning that we were unable to access the studio the proper amount of time required to do what we originally intended. 

I used a different ident than we had originally planned on using, we were going to use the group project we made in the first week back in October as our ident however I decided during the editing process that it would be more suitable to use a more ambient and relaxing hip hop type song so I have used a Lofi hip hop song which I created on the intro and outro. 

I was able to add in a small extra point about the proximity effect during the voiceover of the outro which I was pleased to get in there with everything we have here I think it covers amp miking, drum miking and stereo miking efficiently whilst remaining entertaining, I think it would fit well with a video overlay as a YouTube information style podcast as many podcasts are also accompanied by video on the relevant platforms as well as the raw audio on sound only platforms - I can really envision our project working well in that way. 

Now that we have completed this project I am very excited to move on to whatever is next and I feel that I am progressing very fast everyday. When I think back to my first day starting in October at University I can see looking back that I have learnt a huge amount in this time not just from the work we have been given but through the drive I have acquired during this time to learn even more on my own time; we have produced a track, a podcast, 5 musical etudes and 4 Max patches (as well as the smaller weekly tasks) and also in my own time I have released tens of songs, read huge extracts from several of the books in the recommended reading on Moodle, begun work on a massive sample pack collection of my own work, started working on several of my own Max patch ideas and every day I watch a lot of YouTube content about everything from music production techniques and music theory to the history and philosophy of music. I believe that if I continue to push myself and work hard at improving then I have full confidence to get a valuable experience out of my time to come and cant wait to sink my teeth into more projects in and out of university.

Lookbook- Materials/Key garment page

I think I found this page the most difficult to like as I was struggling in what I wanted my intentions to be. Nevertheless here is some of my progress.

I had yet again sketched out my layout and I knew I wanted it to have the same characteristics as my narrative page so I began to gather some images which could help me do this. I wanted to use the image placed in the middle as I felt it symbolises the battle within a persons mind that may be struggling in anyway. When a person is contemplating certain life decisions there are moments where the mind splits into two. That being good or bad or the angel and the devil. These balance between the two I think is a common cause of escapism within a person. For example; the good is moving into a different place mentally they think will make them happier than the conditions they are really in such as a person having a bad day at work and watches a movie which will comfort them and distract them from playing certain thoughts over in their head. I wanted this page to be darker than the others as if this was the stage of them moving into or out of their own forms of escapism.

Noticing I had tried to add primary images in each page of my lookbook, I decided to follow up with this theme. These are some denim scraps which I have in my home and intend to use at some point to make something. In the mean time I thought it would be beneficial to use these to show the key fabrics within this trend, Denim being one of them. I also want to show lightweight and flowy linen fabric as a key material as this trend is based for summer weather. This is because when reading the trend reports majority of the garments were summer wear especially Woodstock being a Music festival so it was important I included these fabrics and garments which a person might want to wear to a festival. I think this fabric contrasts with denim material as it is a much more heavyweight and stronger fabric despite it still being classed as summer wear as well. I think these contrasts symbolises the exterior and interior of a males life. The standard of them to be strong at all times and when they show signs of “weakness” they are considered as a wimp or too feminine angers me both in a misogynistic way but also from a males perspective aswell. I believe everyone should be entitled to feel whatever emotion their body is reacting to especially men as not doing so could lead to a chain of different mental problems.

I had yet to add much key garment imagery which is why I made this piece. I realised it could be smarter if I worked around an image that didn't actually match my trends concept but made it relate to it instead. I found yet another image of some trippy wallpaper off google however this time I wanted the colours to be monochrome so the reader could focus on the key features of the garment such as the print or style of top rather than the colours of the shirt as I've found when researching for related garments I was worried that some of the pieces I thought related strongly to the concept didn't have the same colours as the colour palette which is when I started to find loads of pieces of fashion images which only consisted of matching the colour palette. This resulted in me having too many images which confused me on what sort of fashion pieces I should in this lookbook. I then found this Emman Montalvan portrait image of their website and used the eraser tool to cut out the models shirt. I thought it would be useful to keep the details of the shirt such as the pockets and buttons so the reader could interpret the key garment better however when removing all of the shirts colour these features looked very lost against the patterned background. 

Here is my outcome without the typography which I think will help this page look better. At the moment this is my least favourite page as I feel like I cant see its message because I know it so clearly however to a blind eye they may not. I feel like its important for me to add more text that I have previously done to help improve this page.

Here is the result of this page once adding text over my photoshop work. I decided to keep the the font simple using the Operetta 12 so the reader wasn't distracted and was still able to see the materials and key garments. I also added some drawings using the Pen tool in Photoshop in places I felt needed some content. To conclude, this is defiantly my least favourite page and I don't really like what I have done at all. I don't find it as impressive as the others despite liking some elements of it. If I was to do this again I would add some negative space or keep up the theme of having the paged like mood boards like the other pages. I would also find some better images from my home that would tie in the concept better rather than some denim scraps. I would do this if I had given myself more time and maybe prioritized this page as much as the others. I felt like I didn't have time to try as many different layouts like I had done with the others so I decided to work with what I had already created.

It's something difficult to be explained, being a biker is something that you feel. surprisingly despite being big into personality tests i dont know this one! i think one of my friends said i seemed like a melancholic one. time to google it and take a test or two tho bcuz i love this shit

honestly i forget movies really easily uhh... i remember logan was good, and i had a lot of fun watching battle royale with a friend.

I LOVE ICE SKATING ACTUALLY!! its really beautiful and takes so much effort and also. thicc legs haha. im trying to teach myself some basic moves since i cant find any classes not aimed at children ): every time i go i have so much fun and every little thing that finally “clicks” im very happy, im such a beginner (im working on 2 foot spins rn) but honestly i love being on the ice and im always thinking “ :/ wow wish the rink was open rn id rather be skating”

i dont really keep up with professional skaters at all and i probably wouldnt know a lot of their names if anyone mentioned them, but i really like johnny weir

i feel like being able to read minds would be devastating, but id also be able to use it to be more likeable and thats appealing haha! i want to know what im doing wrong! at the same time though anyone would feel like its an incredible invasion of their privacy on the most basic level and i feel like having that power would be a bad idea, despite me knowing this is just a fun question im taking it too seriously haha. flying could be fun but like what if government aircraft shot me?

since my school only ever offered a few courses ive taken 1 and a half years of spanish, a year of french plus a decent amount of time on duolingo afterwards, i tried to learn japanese in middle school and i still wouldnt mind learning more, i’ve been interested in finnish since i was 11 but never tried learning until recently and then i discovered theres 0 decent online resources, free or not!

i can’t keep up with one thing consistently over a long period of time though and it makes learning a new one very difficult. there’s so many id like to learn though my motivation comes in small, very infrequent bursts
