Damian and Tim. I figure Dami was dropped off at Wayne Manor at around 8 / 9 and had some time to adjust before Bruce adopted Tim. Turns out Dami is the beat big bro???

Even though people are calling Batman 16 ooc, I really liked what I saw. It was nice to see all the build up (whether it was well done is another thing) of the three brother's relationships. Dick still treats Damian like a kid and Damian likes it despite his complaints and is very easygoing when dealing w/them. Jason engages w/Dick in a relaxed/fun manner as he talks about jokerized fries or wanting him to validate his hair for him. He and Damian also tease each other in a harmless manner-

2 w/Jason getting on Damian’s level and having fun. They were also all pretty in synch in w/their general mood in contrast to Bruce and deciding right away they all had the same plan about fighting Bane together against Bruce’s orders. It’s something I’ve always hoped for (as much as I love Damian+Dick, I’d like some more positive variation in the comics). One thing that stood out for me is the contrast between how Jason deals w/Damian (and vice versa) w/how Tim does. Jason also almost killed -

3 killed Damian (or at least shot him) but Damian’s gotten over it. Jason, like Dick, also actually deals w/Damian in a pretty mature manner by not letting his insults get under his skin and treating him like a kid. It’s interesting how Tim will hold a grudge against Damian (while forgiving Jason) no matter while Damian has such a hard time connecting w/Tim. Considering Dick, Jason and Damian are developing a much deeper bond lately I’ll be interested in how Tim interacts w/Damian.

Tim is such a grudge holder but Jason usually is too (side eyes Bruce and Dick) the difference with Damian IMO is that Jason identifies very strongly with Damian. Yeah he’s a little shit but he gets what it’s like to be young and in this situation that you can’t change. Not to mention Jay’s experiences with the LoA means he knows exactly the shit Dami went through. That, coupled with the fact that Jason got to know Damian once he started getting his head back together. When Tim met Jay, Jay was in full on assassin mode and started some pretty nasty fights with Timmy. That’s hard to move past, both Jay’s guilt for attacking Tim without real reason and also because that old bitterness is still under the surface. But he had a cleaner slate with Damian which made it easier to connect.
