I just made what I think is a really good sad Carina edit but I had to frame for frame re-edit it via a SCREEN RECORDING, of the edit, because I kept getting forced out of the file, just the one file btw everything else worked fine and I deleted a lot of stuff I didn’t want to bc of this.

Needle Felt Siffrin Build Log: (oct 6 - nov 20, 2024)

Credits goes wholely to @insertdisc5 for creating ISAT and siffrin's design! I am just here to attempt to make cool fanart (and get more people to play isat.. my devious plans are going great so far :3) As always, this isn't a tutorial- it is just a log about how i go about approaching a sculpture and I hope this collection of resources can help others make their own sifs!!

PSA: this has some spoilers for endgame CGs/sprites on my references image board ( also might see it in the backgrounds of my process pics). And bc this is needle felting, you will see some sharp needles! beware!

my inspiration was the intro cutscene where Sif eats the star, so my main goal was to adhere to the style of ISAT as closely as possible while transfering it to 3D space. And I knew i also wanted to try making the cloak for stopmotion purposes, so my process was tailored towards having control over the fabric with wire inlaid within the cloak (more on that later).

I ended up not sticking eyebrows on top of siffrin's bangs lol but anyways, first order of business is Gather Reference! v important. pureref is free and an awesome program. I also do some sketches to visualize the pose and important details i wanted to include in the sculpt.

behold the isat wiki gallery page! tawnysoup wrote an awesome ISAT style guide that absolutely rings true in 3d space too!! adrienne made a sif hair guide here!! (sorry i couldnt find the original link, but it's on the wiki). It says ref komaeda hair so that's what i looked at, along with other adjacent hairstyles! I also like doing drawovers on in progress photos to previs shapes n stuff to get a better idea of the end result.

Also if you're like me and struggle with translating stuff into 3D space, take a look at how people make 3d models and figurines! sketchfab is also a great resource! I looked at the link botw model by Christoph Schoch here for hair ref. (I used Maya, but there's a blender version too ! you can pose characters too if your model has been rigged!)

Face:

Started off blocking out the main shapes of eyelids and iris, and then filling in the colour details in the iris and the star highlights before moving onto adding thin black outlines and eyelashes. I didn't take many in-progress photos cause i kept ripping stuff out to redo them many many times, sorry!! This eye took about 3 hrs bc i just wasn't happy with it!! Sometimes it do be the vibe to give up, go to bed and see how it looks in the morning (more often than naught, it looks fine and it was the "dont trust yourself after 9pm" speaking)

The Mouth:

Couldn't decide if i even wanted to add a mouth as per usual with all my humanoid sculptures.. but i did some drawover tests first to see what expression i liked and to try to visualize it from multiple angles. (I was also testing the placement of stars on the hat brim here)

And then I redid the mouth like 3 times cause the angle just wasn't right (this went on for about the course of a week yay!)

Hair: woe baldfrin be upon ye

I made the hair strands individually first, and then since Sif has some of the hair at the back dyed black, i covered some of the tips with black wool (manually) (I think it would go much faster if i just took a marker to it, but hahaha i love pain and detailing!! )

And then the rest of it was positioning strands with sewing pins layer by layer, always looking at it from different multiple angles- sometimes tailoring the angle or swoop of individual hair flippies. At one point I thought the back looked too cluttered, but the hat covers a lot of it anyways!! yay for hiding mistakes! (imo this is a similar process to how cosplayers style wigs, but on a smaller scale and the same level of time consuming)

As always, look to your reference for guides, and I always do a whole bunch of drawovers over in progress photos to ascertain what was working and what wasn't.

Hat:

A trick to get a super pointy tip, make another tip seperately while keeping the connection point unfelted, and then combine the two to make super pointy hat!! (this also helps if you made the hat too short and need it to be taller. ask me how i know)

The embroidery on the hat brim was done in a hoop and then invisible stitched to the felted top portion. Technically you don't need a hoop but it helps keep the fabric tension, so you avoid puckers in your embroidery. You can also use iron-on stabilizer if your fabric is loose weave or particularly thin. this is the tutorial i used for the stars embroidery! particularly the fly stitch one, french knots, and the criss-cross stitches. highly recommend needlenthread for embroidery stitches and techniques! i learned all my embroidery from this single site alone.

For fabric, I think I used a polycotton i had in my stash,, unsure of the actual fiber content bc i bought it a long time ago. I used DMC Satin floss which was nice and subtle shiny but frayed a lot so it was kind of a pain to stitch with... but keep a short thread length and perservere through it!! After the embroidery was done, I folded up the raw edges and invisible sewed it to the top portion of the hat.

General shape:

Ok general structure of the body is this: wire armature body covered with black wool -> cloak lining & wire cage -> edge of lining is invisibly sewn to the main cloak at the hem -> head

Don't be afraid to mess around with the pattern, it's essentially a pizza with a slice taken out of it to form a steep cone shape!! Use draft paper before cutting into felt to save material! (i think i made like 3 cloaks before i was happy with the shape lol).

You can also hide the seam of the cloak and collars by gently messing up the fibers of the felt with your fingers or a felting needle btw! you can also sandpaper the seams according to Sarah Spaceman in this vid (highly recommend them for their in depth cosplay/crafting builds holy smokes), though since sif cloak is at such a smol scale, I just blended the seam with my felting needle.

For the lining wire cage section, I sewed in wire around the cloak, so the main rotation point is at the top neck area under the collar. These paddles are used to keep whatever pose I need the cloak to be in for stopmotion purposes. Then after the wire is done, I invisibly sewed the lining to the cloak at the hem (same technique as the hat brim to the lining there).

In hindsight, I should've used a thinner fabric for the lining, but i only had sheer white in my stash so had to go with double felt, thus resulting in a really bulky lining but oh well!

Heels:

started with the general boot shape, then tacking on the diamond shape heel stack and also diamond shape sole bc we're committed to the bit here. I skewer the boot onto the armature which also conveniently hides the connection point into the base to keep the whole thing upright and also I can rotate the boot to tweak the angle if needed.

Pins:

I kinda just trial and error'd jewellery wire with pliers into the pin shapes. They're itty bitty!! had a whole bunch of fails before i got two nice ones. A hot tip is to use needle nose pliers and wrap the wire around the tip to get a smooth circle shape!

Base:

I smoothed out the edge of a circular wood base with a dremel, and then used wood stainer to get the black colour. It ended up kinda looking like I took a sharpie to it, but whatever.... now i have a whole ass can of black wood stainer........ I then made a rough mountain of black wool and stuck the feet armature in. And now he's standing!!

Normally at this point when I'm done felting everything, to get a smooth finish, I'd take a small pair of scissors and carefully snip away any flyaway fibers, but this time, I just left them fluffy cause i think that's what sif would do :3c

Photoshoot:

Normally I do shoots using daylight but it was winter so the sun was nonexistent. So I broke out the home lighting setup aka dollarstore posterboard for a nice smooth background, and then hit it with the overhead Fill, side Fill 2, and Rim light, and use white paper/posterboard for bounce light if one side feels too dark. But if things are overexposed, you can move the light sources away until the harshness dims down. I'm using a Olympus mirrorless camera (handed down to me by my sibling so i dont remember the model exactly), which can connect to my phone as a remote so I can avoid shaking the camera when i take photos. Pretty nifty for stopmotion purposes! (yes my camera stand is a stack of notebooks, a tissuebox and some eva foam under the lens, don't judge me)

Stopmotion animation:

I'm still figuring stopmo out on my part, but my process was straight ahead animation ... move the cloak a cm, take a pic.... move another cm, click.... and repeat until i get a version I was happy with. My ref was the cloak animation from Gris (beautiful game btw). The 2d star animation was also done straight ahead using procreate, exported in png with a transparent background, and finally stitched together with the stopmotion footage in photoshop.

My turnarounds are also stopmotion! also secret hack, the turntable is a fidget spinner sticky tacked to a cake platter.

And i think that's all! i mainly wanted to share how I go about thinking about taking a 2d concept and moving it to 3D. I also didn't go in depth into how to actually do the needle felting bc I don't think I''d be very helpful I'm a very good teacher by telling yall to just keep stabbing until it looks right (i'm self taught for this hobby),,, if anyone wants it though, i can share a bunch of tutorials and other felters' process that helped me learn more needle felting!

"Where do your webs come from?" - asked the purple turtle as he used a pair of scissors to cut through the web that covered your bleeding leg

"Not from my butt, that's for sure" - You answered while sitting on their lair's medbay - "I could actually produce organic webs from some special glands on the tip of my fingers, but to produce the equivalent of a spider of my size I would have to have a strick diet of giant insects and I'm definitely not having that."

"I've noticed you make an specific hand gesture everytime you're gonna shoot a web but that seems to come from your wrist" - Donnie took the web away and started to cut a patch of clothing to gain access to the wound

That probably would have felt somewhat intim if you're not supposed to bleed out. The moment the purple-clad turtle took a look at your injuries, he practically forced you to sit down. Mikey was on the other stretcher in the medbay. His brother already gave him the antidote before the venom could actually bring some permanent harm.

"There's a device under my suit that shoots sintetic webs. It's really funny 'cause you can easily find all the chemicals in any ironmongery. "

Yep. Your aunt is gonna kill you after you decide to ruin another of her pants collection.

"Seems your circulatory system is different to a regular human. Other way your artery would be intact" - Donnie bring some cotton with alcohol to desinfect the would - "And seems that you're already started to heal"

"Yeah" - you answered as you felt the sting of the alcohol to clean to blood away - "I can have some broken ribs fixed in a couple of hours."

"I would recommend you not to engage in any kind of physical effort that could remove your stitches"

You grunted but didn't do anything to stop him from seizing your leg. Good, because you we're usually bad when patching yourself.

"Thanks for not letting me bleed in the middle of the street" - you said in a humorous tone

"Thanks for protecting my brothers when I wasn't available" - replied Donatello

That was weird. Someone actually thanking you. You can blame your boss for that.

It was nice. Even if you didn't practically do anything. You didn't even give a proper beat up to the guy.

"Donnie, you're done?" - asked the older brother, the famous Leo Mikey complained so much about. You wanted to laugh at the rhyme he indirectly said, but now his eyes were on you - "Master Splinter wanted a word with our guest."

"Thanks, doc" - you stand up - "I guess this is my discharge?"

Donnie gave a disapproval look at his brother before turning at you - "Don't make me redo your stitches" - he said with a stern tone - "Leo, that goes for you too."

"Nothing is going to happen on my watch" - Leonardo crossed his arms - "Nothing. "

"You better, Leo" - Donatello crossed his arms like a disappointed mother. He didn't want his older brother to be the one to scare a fellow intellectua away.

Leonardo ignored his second youngest and made a signal to you to follow him. You pressed your footing on the floor just to check. There was no pain before following the blue claded turtle.

Leonardo was clearly distrustful of you. He'd seen you on TV several times. Actually, he cringed when you turned Doctor Connors to the authorities. Yes, he knew the Lizard plan was to turn New York's population into mutants, which wasn't ideal and goed against his morals, but on the other hand, his heart clutched at the memory of the Lizard lying unconscious on a web to everyone disposal like a sick circus freak exposition.

That could've been him and his brothers on that web to everyone's entertainment and disposal.

The image of you half a way to bleed to death kind of changed something. Mikey was kind of still of unconscious and high on meds. Raphael was pretty unharmed thanks to you and seemed actually pretty toned about taking you to the lair to get you patched up. Donnie was clearly having a camping day, and Leo should stop his brother before he could suggest studying you.

You were pretty much like a funny mirror version of Mikey. In spandex.

Leo knew he shouldn't judge by the first impression, especially since his family owed their safety to you. He should wait to Master Splinter final judgment before he could get a proper conversation with you.

Soooooo…. This was the unfamous Leonardo. Looked like a nearly identical carbon copy of the other brothers, except, like the rest, he had some distinctive features, like blue eyes from a darker tone than Mikey's, sharper eyes and a forming chasm on his forehead. Leonardo had particularly big hands compared to his brothers, little things you wouldn't notice before the bite. That and he seemed to be the pretty one.

You were left in front of a circular door with red curtains, the smell of incense came to stitch your nose, luckily nothing that could actually bother you, but you were pretty much hyper sensitive.

"Master Splinter is waiting on the other side" - Leonardo stood next to you, eyes on the front, tough he steal a quick glance at you and turned around completely when you found him gazing

"Thanks, Pretty Eyes" - you said without actually thinking, hearing the sound of choking before entering the room

Wow. Your aunt was into yoga and all with the candles and the incense, but this was a complete new level. That was a cherry blossom tree growing underground?? And there was a giant rat in the middle of the room waiting for you.

Cool, cool cool cool cool cool cool cool

Just a…. Actually, a giant rat wasn't even exciting at this point. No offense, Mr Rat Man. But you have faced enough weird shit to just don't care anymore.

"Good evening" - said the giant rat - "You must be [S/n]. My son Michelangelo likes to talk about you. "

"He does?" - you asked.

"Yes. Michelangelo seems pretty fond of you and your friendship. I wish we could've met in better circumstances. Still, I must thank you for helping and protecting my sons in this moment of weakness." - and then the rat bowed

"Woah woah" - you put your hand in the air yo stop him - "There's no need to do that. I'm just glad to help. And I consider Mikey a friend, so… It's something anyone should've done" - you put your hand behind your head. This Man(Woman, Something else) makes you feel like a little kid sneaking to steal the cookie jar.

The rat smiled(?) or whatever kind of gesture managed to make with a snout - "You're too humble. I respect that" - the rat take support from his cane - "My name is Splinter, and you can refer to me as such. "

"Okay… Thanks… Mr Splinter." - you awkward said. What time was it? Did your aunt could be awake and discover you weren't in bed? What about Mikey? You needed to see him awake, to say sorry to him, because if you decided to change the place of your encounter… Maybe Mikey could've been safe and sound….

"Somethings troubling you" - Splinter's voice cut out your thoughts - "Have a seat" - he patted the space next to him

You wanted to say no because you felt inadequate to the action. A quick look to your patched leg, and you sighed behind your mask before taking a seat next to the giant rat. Your leg still hurts with stitches and everything, so you took your knees to your chest and steal glances behind your mask.

"…… You blame yourself for my son's injury. " - speak Splinter without opening his eyes

You jumped up a little but unconsciously just nodded. And he was right. It was your fault. You should've done a better job. You were New York's protector for crying out loud! What if Mikey's brother wasn't there and you didn't find him on time? What if you found him and couldn't find a way to give him medical assistance? Would you fail again?

"There's no point to ask yourself what you could have done in the heat of the moment. You only left to improve"

This conversation was exhausting you - "…..How…..?" How did you know what to do?

Splinter opened one eye - "I had a conversation with Raphael before you. You share similar doubts about the incident. But in the end, thanks to you both Michelangelo is safe. My son is safe and at home, and that's all that matters. "

You keep looking at nowhere, curled over yourself as Splinter's words repeated all over again in your head.

"Master Splinter!" - came Leo's voice, and he passed through the curtains. You fix yourself to look less like a mess the moment he entered - "Sorry to interrupt your conversation, but Mikey's awake!"

You looked from the side of the door at the whole family having a moment, Leonardo was between checking Mikey and scolding him. Donatello tried to check his vitals once again befote sighing in relief, and gave a gentle squeeze on his arm. Raphael was basically a balloon fish that pretended to be big and spiky when, in reality, looked as small as his little brother. Splinter was on a distance watching everything, and you questioned if you should go to avoid ruining this atmosphere.

You were about to sneak out from the medbay before you ended up capting the gaze of a particular red turtle.

"Hey Mikey, there's someone that really wants to see you" - Raphael pointed at your direction and shot, now Mikey had seen you

"[S/N]!" - Mikey screamed your superhero name, his face lighting ip like a Christmas tree

"Hey Buddy" - you say, now all eyes were on you and for the first time in a long… Time, the attention actually gets to bother you - "How are you feeling?"

"Like a herd of rhinos passed over me" - mumbled Mikey

"A guy dressed like a male escort kick our ass" - you answered instead, taking the courage to come out behind of the curtain - "He was a two capes of clothing of starting twerking" - you said and you cpuld hear the gasp that leave the blue turtle, along with a snort from the red one.

Donatello simply hid his face behind his hand, and Mikey let out a weak cackling, obviously him, and only him would understand your sense of humor.

"Yeah, he looked like he picked up his outfit from Victoria's secret" - Mikey joked weakly, his voice still recovering

"Do you even know what Victoria secret is, you brick for brains?" - asked Raphael

"Sure, it's an undewear store" - Mikey said confidently

"A female oriented underwear chain of stores" - corrected Donatello

"Okay, my bad. I was wrong. But he was dressed to dance in a pole!"

"Okay, thanks, Michelangelo, for that.. Observation" - interrupted Splinter to hia younger son keep using such vulgar language

"….. So that means [S/n] can come and stay every time they want?" - asked Mikey - "Like… You guys already know each other! Now we can hang out on the lair without going outside!"

The three older brothers looked between each other, mumbling and fussing before their looks landed on you , who just blinked behind your maks, like you had all the answers to the mysteries of the universe. Leonardo gestured with the head to you to speak, glancing between you and his youngest brother.

"Ummm" - you started, unsure - "I won't say all the time, because, well, this is you house and coming here without invitation sounds incredibly rough and I have patrol most of the time, and kind of have to graduate if ever plan to have my own place" - you divagued - "But sounds cool! If your family didn't have any issues with me passing" - you throw them behind the bus

Leo gave you a weird look, and you gestured with your head and squinted the lenses behind your mask before the littlest brother looked at the oldest with kicked puppy eyes. Leo just knew Mikey would hate him for not letting him pass time with their superhero friend.

"Ah, let's not get to that conclusion that soon" - Donatello interrupted with an awkward smile - "I still need to get their stitches out. Didn't you mention you had an accelerated healing factor?"

That was the code to "Let's get out of here before this turn too uncomfortable and take me with you."

"Yeah" - you played along, although it wa dyue truth - "They've started to bother me. Do you think you can get them now?"

"Sure, no problem" - he stood up and sped up his footing to get away the soon as posible, before standing in the door and looking to the group - "Also, I believe having a brilliant mind in the lair besides mine is going to be an advantage we couldn't let slide, just to let you knoe that I'm on your side Mikey" - he finished and sprinted out of the room

"This is the medbay, Donnie!" - called Leonardo - "Donnie?!"

In the end, you could stay

You stared at the phone with the shape of a shell that Donatello just handed to you.

"In that way, you and Mikey can maintain communication without worrying about hacking or tracking." - said Donatello

"Really?" - you asked, remembering Raphael picked Mikey's location through a function of his T-Phone - "Because this mask is for something, I choose to not show my gorgeous face to more than intimidate people with my beauty."

"Not tracking, I promise" - Donatello put a hand over his heart - "Cross my heart and hope to die"

"Please don't say that. You'll jinx it" - you squinted the eye's mask, actually concerned about him

"I'll try not to" - Donatello smiled - "Well, I guess this is a goodbye,"

"Yeah" - you mumbled, but then you had an idea - "It doesn't have to be. Give me your number. "

"Huh?" - Pink rise on Donatello's cheeks - "What?"

"That way we'll keep in contact, and you don't have to depend on Mikey if you ever need anything. And also we can talk to each other if we ever need advice for science stuff"

"Oh" - Donatello blinked like an owl - "Sure, sure, no problem."

Donatello quickly pressed some numbers on the T-Phone before giving it back.

You looked at Donatello and Mikey's contact. You should ask for Raphael and Leonardo's, but you felt the blue brother wasn't exactly very fond of you. Then you get to see what time it was.

"Fuck"

"What is it? There's some bug? I tapped the wrong button?"

"No, just…. If I don't answer your number, my aunt must've murdered me."

T'is the fishies turn! I made the fucking mistake of posting this a day earlier than intended and I had to redo everything *face palm* Anyways, now you know why him and Caleb gave me so much trouble, it's hard to be specific and mention everything when there's so much variety. I said I was going to be more specific about the tags on each post, but... how do I do that when I'm not even going into extreme detail?

How it started

He woke up one day, started drawing, and while thinking about the drawing, he decided he was going to do voice acting. No fanfare, no big "I just found my calling" moment, just a quiet "yeah, I'm going to do this". The moment he was done with the art, he wrote down the storyline and everything about the character he was going to play, made a new account for his voice acting and set out to buy the things for his set up. He lives quite a cushioned and calm life, so he wasn't in any hurry to succeed or be good, he just wanted to have fun.

— He doesn't talk about the account on his instagram or twitter, doesn't mention his plans to anyone. Simply posts videos and lets it grow on its own. He's content with people stumbling onto it. 

— His first audio is a merman god audio (God Of The Tides). It's elaborate and the sound effects are quite realistic. He records all the parts for it in one sitting, slowly editing and posting them as he goes. Again, he's in no hurry, he's enjoying his time. 

— Obviously, people recognize his art and talk about it, some even try to get his attention and ask if that's him, but he says nothing and lets it fester. 

— Thomas comes along after a year and a half, and by then he's revealed that yes, that va channel with art awfully similar to his is actually him. He became his editor and unofficial manager. 

— His posting was a mess, sometimes he'd post three consecutive weeks in a row, on others it would take a month or more for him to post. People could see the shift in time management the moment he went from posting randomly to posting bi-weekly. Now he posts his audios on Fridays.

Channel 

— Deep blues, watercolor corals and sand tones, a little bit more and the account itself would have a wave animation along with the sound of the shores.

— The intro of his videos is a little animation of himself. It starts with a view of a chibi version of him fiddling with a little fish trinket while he waits for the listener, when they approach, he'll turn and say “Hey, cutie! Wanna hear a new story?” and then pull you along into a room as he starts narrating. He'll stop talking once the place and time has been set and then the sound effects will start and throw you into the first person pov.

— He likes going an extra mile by marking timestamps in his videos, he usually divides them into three acts. 

— He draws art of the characters, it's the only thing you see throughout the video. It's always a full body picture that gets zoomed into so the details are slowly shown as the video progresses. You can tell a series is coming depending on how elaborate the drawing is.

— His content is M4A, and very occasionally he's specific about gender. Pet names vary depending on theme, setting and character, but the only one that is truly his is “cutie”.

— Sirens, mermaids, water fairies, spirits, whatever type of sea/water creature he can come up with. Played a naga once, never did it again, no matter how much the fans begged. He'll switch it up and play humans while the listener is the water creature every once in a while.

— His merman god character makes a comeback every once in a while. It's his most famous series along with The Lemurian Painter (a sequel to The God Of The Tides, where the god has fallen along with his people) and Abysswalker (the third installment to the God Of The Tides series, where lemurians have gone extinct and the seas have started to dry up)

— Some characters are connected and make references to something that happened to the others, it's a nice easter egg the fans always look for.

His sfw content

— Summer at the beach. A lot of his audios are set around water, be it a tub, a river, pool or even the beach or in the sea.

— His videos are as elaborate as his art, sometimes even more, you can tell he's putting his entire pussy soul into it. He has playlists for each oc he makes, it's almost like a little multiverse for each one. 

— Changes his voice, accent, speech pattern and entire demeanor depending on the character. He's fully immersing himself into the acting and having a blast.

— He does a little bit of everything; friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, strangers to lovers, doomed romances where a character dies, tooth rotting fluff, dark romance. He has no qualms about playing angel and devil. He'll play an assassin one day and a sweet painter the next. 

— All of his oc's have an alternate version of themselves, the sweet ones get a yandere version and the rougher ones get a kinder version. He likes experimenting with their background and seeing how they would be if things went differently.

— He actually cries whenever a crying scene is involved, and sometimes he takes a selfie and posts it; that's all the fans need to know that an angsty audio is coming.

— He deviates from the water theme a little when doing cute dates; cute dinner dates, cooking/baking at home, going shopping, doing art together, car rides, lots of mundane and seasonal, cute things. He did a pottery date once and it was so realistic that if you actually went to do pottery while listening to the audio, you could pretend he was actually there.

— Sleep aid by humming. Sometimes he full on sings depending on the character, and the fans love it so much that there's an account dedicated to posting the clips of his singing. He has also done a few chronic pain audios, most of them focused on hand related pains.

— Alternates between being soothed by the listener and soothing the listener, it's concerning how realistic he can get with the audios.

His nsfw content

It takes him creating a very specific oc before he starts doing nsfw audios. The character is a shy, clumsy little thing that gets flustered easily under the listeners attention. It's the character’s first time and it ends up breaking the dam and opening the door for his other oc's. 

— It's as varied as his fluffy moments; it can be a romantic moment for established lovers, a one night stand or even crazy sex between two yanderes. He does a lot of things thanks to his many oc's and the scenarios he puts them through. 

— Those are, of course, linked to a different app. The tamer ones are more accessible than the ones with hard kinks, it's based on patreon tears.

— Accessible: oral (f & m receiving) hand jobs, fingering, prone bone and a bit of body worship, anal stuff, first times (in general), playing with toys, phone sex and just things that you'd consider vanilla. The aftercare for these is light, even if it might not even seem like it because of how naturally it flows into the scene.

— Paywalled: Monster fucking, light bondage, dom & sub dynamics, degradation, spanking, daddy kink, mommy kink, dub-con and cnc, you name it, he's probably done it. Whenever he does those, he ends them with more thorough aftercare scenes.

Extra things

— The most common ones, the ones that prevail throughout the characters are: praise kink, body worship, being vocal in bed and switchy dynamics.

— Thomas and Rafayel bother each other a lot on social media. Rafayel constantly complains about having Thomas breathing down his neck and Thomas constantly complains about Rafayel in general. Sometimes it looks like they are actually arguing but if you look at their private chats, they're just chilling and having a normal conversation. 

— Sometimes he'll stream while drawing, as a teaser for what's to come. You never know what he'll draw, whether it'll be an elaborate drawing or a simple one. He'll chat with the fans then and talk about the characters, he gives so much content about them that the fans can make fanart and fanfics about them. He hypes up their art and offers criticism when they specifically ask for it, even encourages them when they do fanfics. He's made a few commissions here and there just because he felt like giving something back. 

— Doesn't really care about showing his face and fans don't really care about it either. Yeah, he looks great and beautiful, but that's the last thing on their minds when he's voice acting and playing a character. 

— He does this thing where he talks to Thomas randomly in some audios. It isn't weird because sometimes he has to give him pointers of what sound effects he should add– he's very specific, sometimes he'll even tell Thomas to remind him to look for a specific sound effect that came to mind– but it's different from the usual thing because he'll randomly go like "Thoooomaaaaas, I know you're theeeerreee" (kind of like what markiplier does with his editor where he has a whole skit) Thomas always films those moments and posts them on twitter, there are fan made compilations of them.

— There's also the occasional blooper reel, especially the ones Thomas finds too funny to not post. Rafayel always yells at him for it, saying something along the lines of "You're ruining my reputation!"

1- When did you start playing Choices? What was the first book you played? 

I started playing in 2019, and my first book was Rules of Engagement.

2- When and why did you join Choices fandom?

I joined the fandom in January 2022. I had taken a break from Choices for a while but went back in November/December 2021 and started trying to look for fanfiction for Open Heart as I wanted to see if there was more Open Heart content, so I turned to Tumblr and AO3 and decided to join.

3- How did you pick your blog name? 

It was the first thing I could think of. I’m not creative with naming things (if anyone remembers my original blog name, it was openheartfanfiction because I only wrote for OH and couldn’t think of anything else). So I was like, “I’m a fan of Aaron Tveit. His fans are called Tveiter Tots, so why not?”  I then added writing because most of the content I make is fanfiction.

4- Pull up the first post in your archive, and tell us about it! 

It was actually a little intro to my account, but I had deleted it a while back so now it’s this. It is not my favorite. I would definitely redo it now that I have had more experience with text fics. 

5- Do you write fanfiction, create fan art, or are you one of those really gifted people who do both? 

While I would love to make fan art, currently, I only write fanfiction.

6- How long have you been creating for Choices and for any other fandoms?

I have been writing/creating Choices content since 2022. But I have been writing for Star Wars and Adam Driver Characters since 2020 (even though I am on hiatus from it, and I don’t know if/when I will pick it back up). I also wrote some Marvel fanfiction with a friend in 2021. More recently, I have started writing stuff for Aaron Tveit and Cillian Murphy characters on my non-Choices blog.

7- What is your favorite Choices book, and what is your favorite Choices book to create for?

Right now, I would say either Red Carpet Diaries or America’s Most Eligible is my favorite. But I also like Open Heart, High School Story, and others. I want to create more for RCD and AME, but I think I like creating content for OH.

8- Share your first Choices fanfic or fan art that you posted with us. Do you still like it, or would you change it if you were creating it today?

Since I already mentioned the text fic, I chose the next fic I did. It was for my Open Heart MC’s (Claire Evans) Birthday. And I would 100 percent go back and rewrite it. I like the idea of what I wrote, but I don’t like its execution, and I need to go back and rewrite it.

9- What is your favorite piece of fiction or art that you created? 

Right now, I have these two favorites. While I like writing angst, I enjoy writing fluffy stuff like these two fics. Plus, it’s my MC and OC who are besties (Claire and Adelaide), so I had to choose one from both of them.

10- Do you have a fic/art that you didn’t expect to be well received, but it was? What about one you expected to do well but found it could use a little more love?

This was a fic that I wasn't expecting to get notes on. I was still very new to the fandom at the time and hadn’t really interacted with anyone at that point, so seeing people like it was a shock.

Something that I wish I could do better is the content I make for my RCD and AME MCs (Brooklyn Moore and Charlie Howard). I love that people like my OH content, but I don’t see many people liking content from those books (which is fine if you don’t like it).

11- If you could write only angst, fluff, or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why? 

Fluff. While writing Angst and Smut can be fun, writing fluff is a nice escape from real life.

12 - Do you ever recognize yourself in any of your MCs or in your writing?

Yes, I have put some things from myself into my MCs and OCs, like some personality traits, some physical traits, and some hobbies/things they enjoy. So, I do see myself sometimes, but not always.

13 - What element of writing/art do you struggle with most?

Either coming up with titles or writing bits in between the big parts. Usually, one of the last things I do is come up with a title because I can never think of one. Also, writing the “less important” parts in between the parts I want to write is what gets me sometimes and is why I have unfinished fics that I have abandoned.

14 - Do you have any neglected work you really want to finish?

I have some fics that I had done some previews for (last year or the year before) that I would like to finish at some point. Right now, I am trying to finish a Dancing with the Stars AU for Adelaide and Tobias, so that is my writing priority.

15 - If someone you know in real life (who isn’t involved in fandoms) asked to see your work, would you let them? If yes, what would you show them first? 

Maybe it depends on who it is. While I don’t think anyone would be too judgemental, I would still be very nervous to show them in fear of them hating it or something like that. I wouldn't show them the smut or some of my earlier fics but the fluff I would.

16 - Are there any writers (published authors and/or fanfic writers) who influenced your writing or art? Are there any artists that influence you?

Not really. I have liked a lot of people’s work, but I don’t think that it really influences my writing at all though.

17- Which one of your stories would you most like to see as a movie/series? 

I think my fic “Coming to You” would be fun to see as a movie. Seeing how Ethan and Claire’s relationship grows on screen when they’re in two different worlds would interest me.

19- Do you write original fiction or create non-fandom art? 

I have thought about trying to write an original fiction book, but right now I don’t. I do currently write some original screenplays as I am in college for screenwriting.

20-  What other hobbies do you have?

I like to paint and listen to music. I like to take drives in the morning to get coffee and relax or at night with my dogs. I like to watch movies and musicals (like Moulin Rouge and Six). 

21: BONUS - tell us anything you’d like (if you want to)

lil update to say PlayStation 2 vibes officially locked in on my youtube channel til end of April, but had a couple issues with my last two streams. on my Astro Boy (PS2) longplay, I was aware the opening taken straight from the 2003 anime would trigger a copyright claim, so even though I played the intro in 5FPS with the in-game music over it, it triggered off and even the first 15 seconds of the game with Dr. O'Shay waking up Astro got audio claimed. taking my chances with Japan to dispute all that (cause it's fucking silly when it's within context of gameplay!) so we'll see how that goes. then on my IGPX: Immortal Grand Prix stream my internet provider decided to do maintenance at 10pm on a Friday so that entire stream got unlisted cause I'd rather complete the whole game on a single play. good news is that I'm practiced up on that one so I'll redo my longplay of it tomorrow night while prepping for the rest of my upcoming PS2 plays. also I know I say this on every update but I swear I'm working on my new Patreon CD batches (details TBA) and for my other tier peeps I've been setting PS2 tracks on the side to make vapormixes of to contribute back to my supporters. just life has been lifing and luckily picked up more hours at my current job after quitting the worst job in my life at a dispensary so after my schedule gets balanced out more (trying to get days off in a row more often cause that's best way for me to get stuff done / streams going) I should be catching back up with all my projects. anyway look forward to more PS2 vibes (and a new vidmix) for some time!

Made Marion: Small Patch and Holiday Devlog

Version 2.1 EA Release

We have released a small bugfix/update patch.  Here are the notes, which you can also find on Steam and Itch.io.

Uploaded the final version of Will's final CG (Spontaneous Ending). If you unlocked the in-progress version, you can see the final version in your Art Gallery in Extras.

Misc. typo fixes and editing pass over the Love Interest PoV Scenes.

Will's Sunjati name has been changed to Iyiola as we were informed that his previous Sunjati name was unintentionally funny/awkward for modern West African readers.

Altered "you can leave your hat on" joke/reference because due to sprite limitations he literally can't.

Small blocking issue solved: Will's route was blocked at the end of Sherwood Chapter 2 if you first asked about Layton. This has been fixed.

Made Marion Holiday Devlog

Our first patch was originally meant to expand Robin's love scenes to match the length of Will's (and the length that they will be from here on out), but a hard drive burp ate my writing and I'll have to redo it all. That'll show me not to forget to back up to Github.  Since I want to get going with John ASAP, Robin's updated love scenes will be released along with John's route.

I'm now outlining and idea boarding John's route. It's going to be quite the contrast from Will's, in which two young scions yearning to have control over their own destinies came together. In John's route we have the meeting of two responsible young people who were forced by circumstance to grow up before they were ready.

John is kind, protective, and can be stubborn in his own way. Despite technically being Robin's second, he's used to being the captain that steers the ship. So is Marion. When they meet, will she take it as an opportunity to let go and be protected for once, or will she challenge John's need to always act as the bulwark between the world's dangers and the people he loves?

Your choices will lead to different kinds of love and different kinds of struggles as you work toward the Challenge or Compromise Ending.

Art Team Priorities

Here's what our artists are up to:

Arrapso (Sprites, CGs) is creating some sprite models that are not wearing their trousers, for when I have sprites zoomed in during love scenes in which they're supposed to be naked. We still won't be showing anything below the waist, but some of our gents have some fairly high waists on their trousers and the visible belts were bugging me.

Lawrichai (cut-ins, lore intro) is concentrating on the animated lore intro. We've decided to make it a full animated movie instead of doing smaller animations in-engine, so Lawri has picked up Live2D and is animating away!  I'm excited to see what she puts together!

Here we have some cool, possible Fae Lord sketches for the intro:

Sandra (backgrounds, creatures, cut-in assist) has finished all the backgrounds I currently need, and with FIFTY BGs plus many variations, I'm doing my level best not to need any more! We only have one more creature to design (Lord Geoffrey's favorite hunting hound), so she has graciously agreed to help us with cut-ins so that Lawrichai can focus on the lore intro and love scene illustrations.

So. Noel has gotten some Character Development over the last 3 years, both visually and otherwise, and so i decided to redo her intro post <3

I'm going to ramble some more under the cut re: each pic and what it means...for lack of a better word

The starting point

Being one of the heirs to a noble family, there are, of course, Certain Expectations placed on her. Ones she cannot break too openly, for the sake of her family's reputation and legacy.

The problem is, Noel has always felt like Something Is Wrong With Her. She knows that she does not fit those expectations if she does not make an effort to change herself. And so she makes the effort. Follows the tug of that leash. She feels like she cannot afford to do anything else, because, even though there has always been a sort of wall in the connection between her and her family, she loves them anyway. She'll do it for them.

She does allow herself small acts of rebellion, however. Leaning into the roles assigned to her with perhaps too much of a commitment, turning it into something almost theatrical. Looking for something in this performance and in other people, but never quite letting her true self show. There is always that something under the surface, though. A flirty smile full of contempt, that look in the eye...A hint of what's to come.

2. Unmasking (evil version)

So, all that theater from before? Forget about it. She has finally found what was missing, and it was the freedom to stab people who deserve it.

Losing her family, while something that hurts her deeply, was a sort of relief. The leash is cut, and there is no one for whose sake she has to pretend.

In some ways, it's ironic - she gets to be fully and unreservedly sincere with someone from her past. That someone is Howe, and the sincere feeling is seething hatred. But still, the wall is gone. Something that was never going to be possible with the people she wanted to understand her the most. It's fucked up, but in some ways, she ends up being closer with Howe than her own family. Like, i think she'd keep his skull. She has a dagger with a handle made from his bone. You know.

He painted her as a monster for political reasons, but he didn't know just how close to the truth he was. Should have made sure she was dead while he still could. She takes her sweet time killing him <3

3. She Lived, Bitch

Back when it all just began, she only had one goal - revenge. She was a prey animal chewing it's own leg off to escape the trap (the blood on the 'mirror' Noel is mostly her own), and so she had no interest in trying to cover it up. She wouldn't be able to, anyway.

In her mind, her life was as good as over. She only had one goal, and she truly did not know what would happen once she accomplishes it. Nor did she care. Completely unexpectedly, though, she finds the people who love her for who she is, not who she pretends to be. It is a jarring realization for her - that she can belong without contorting herself.

It, unsurprisingly, changes everything. She grows into her own skin. She's confident, she's capable, and she will never be a cornered animal again.

She didn't just survive. She's thriving <3

Beginning with Chapter 11 (“Arkansas Traveler”), Joe Fisher reads the full list of everyone supporting Midnight Burger at the $10/month level (“Monte Cristo”). Over time, it’s become a truly monstrous list, and, for some reason I don’t completely understand, I’ve decided to start tracking its length.

I timed the segment from when Joe introduces it, usually with “Midnight Burger is brought to you in part by …” and ended with the last name, which is, after the “Ted in Exile” interlude, Existentially Exhausted Bean. I’m not sure why I decided to include Joe’s intro, since it would have been just as easy to start with the first name. But that only occurred to me when I was halfway through season 3, and I didn’t feel like going back and redoing them.

This is a graph of the length of the name segment. A graph of the number of names would be more scientific, but that would require me to sit there with a clicker or something, and that would be silly.
