It was hard, not having your mom around anymore.

She died protecting you, doing everything in her power to keep you safe, to let you have a chance at a normal childhood, and how was she repayed? The people of your old town killed her. They had meant to kill you, but she took the bullet for you. You were lucky to be alive, lucky to have been moved to a safe place...

But...

Now you were moving in with someone you'd never met before.

He was supposedly your dad. Or at least who your mom claimed was. She'd never really mentioned him before, save when she needed to give you hope for a better future, when you'd be safe to use your powers and not be attacked for it.

His name was supposedly Magnus, and it turned out he had two other kids: Wanda and Pietro, twins.

They hadn't been mean or jealous (what was there to be jealous about? you're a younger sibling with trauma), but they did act... stange? In a way. Always hovering nearby, trying to keep the other Brotherhood teens from being near you or talking with you.

You think your first bonding moment with them was when you and the group had gone to an arcade for fun. The machines hummed with life, with energy... And you had just the game you enjoyed just waiting to be played.

The claw machine.

The poor thing hadn't been able to give a reward for all the money it was given, but you were just the person to make it right. With a few quarters, and a quick snap of electricity, you had the machine buzzing with your commands. The first stuffed animal was a hummingbird, with bright blue wings and a white stomach. The second was an owl with bright red eyes. Soon to follow were more and more little animals, until the entire plushie receptacle was filled to the brim with your rewards.

You shocked the poor guy behind the ticket counter, who looked tired and flabbergasted. And it seemed you'd surprised your siblings, too...

"Take it. They look like you," you pushed as you shoved the two birds into their arms. You'd already packed the rest of the stuffies into large plastic bags, hopefully to send to the local children's hospital.

"How does this look like me?" Pietro asked, looking over the hummingbird in blurred movements. "Couldn't it have been, like, a falcon, or something?"

"... Why an owl?" Wanda asks.

"You're fast and can perform any trick in the book. So can hummingbirds! Can you see a falcon flying backwards? Also, an owl because you've got the whole witch aesthetic, and it looks like you! It even has black and red feathers!"

"... Tch... Fine..."

"... It will be my familiar..."

"Yay! Now, let's go give the others their's!"

"Wait, you got them some too?!"

After that, the twins were just-

And if they couldn't be there, one of the other Brotherhood teens was instead. It only became a problem when someone tried to bully you.

The guy who'd try to pick on you now earned the full ire of Wanda AND Pietro, who made his life h*ll. And what those two decreed, the others followed.

Of course, when you wanted to hide from everyone or hide your tracks...

You messed with the computers and lights.

"Ah man, I can't see like this!"

"Is it a power outage?"

"Someone get the janitor!"

Being in control of technology was pretty awesome.

It wasn't so fun when your dad found out.

"Reader... perhaps you would like to join my Acolytes? We would have much need of your mutation."

You took one look at the people your... dad, had on his elite team... And decided:

"Um... I'm good, sir..."

"Very well... And you may call me 'father'."

"Erm... okay... Father..."

What you didn't see happening in the shadows was your father having his Acolytes preparing a space for you anyway, so one day you could be with them. What you didn't see was Wanda giving nightmares and accidents to your bully, sending them into a chaotic spiral. What you didn't see was Pietro following you wherever you went, spying from as far or near as he liked, and telling Wanda and Magneto everything he saw.

You may have thought you were being given some control, but in honesty... That control was only an illusion.

If you ever tried to leave or go to the X-Men, you'd just find yourself kept captive, bound in metal chains where no one would ever find you, save for your loving family... They wouldn't risk losing their little technopath, the one member of their small family who can temper their personalities... So don't try to run, or they'll cut off any small control you have for good.

✿ I'm not really great at writing like AT ALL, but I plan to start a fic for EBY, so IDK how much I'll share? The intention is for it to be a loose SB au of sorts? I say loose because it's purely driven by headcanon and just self-insert scenarios I wrote for myself in my notes app before I really got "into" the DCA sub fandom. I literally was daydreaming just from gameplay and voicelines alone it was BAD lmao. The "lore" per say isn't very concrete, I'm well aware, I just want to kiss these damn robots. unei: But boss, Heath-san received a medical certificate stating that he was ill with bronchitis and that it would clear up in two weeks. He's slowly been returning to work too, I think he should be fine now!

mizuki: Exactly. Our new work can't be beat, there's no reason we shouldn't be able to perform it.

kokuyou: Oi, Mizuki.

kei: Mizuki, this is not an issue in which you can decide everything yourself. Let's return to our respective teams for now, then in the next meeting we can—

mokuren: It doesn't matter if we have a reason or not. If there's an opportunity for us to stand on the stage then I'm taking it, that's all.

qu: It was dumb of me to ask.

kasumi: Ah, but the performance being a versus may be safer.

qu: Do you mean we can be more prepared if something happens?

kasumi: Yeah. In the worst case scenario, if it was just a B solo performance then if trouble occurred the show would need to be suspended. If that were to happen there'd be no way Team B or Heath would get off the hook without any punishment.

hari: True. Not only they themselves, but our management's ability would also be doubted in that case.

kasumi: Instead of B dealing with a full schedule, in a versus we take half of the performances. Even if it's just to make sure Heath's ok to return, I don't think it's a bad idea.

qu: Well, I guess that is one way to look at it.

hari: We're only able to participate in this versus because we have a new work too. Despite it just being after the New Year's show, you've prepared well huh, Zakuro.

mokuren: I see.

kongou: Also, to put it bluntly, stopping Heath in general is difficult. We tell him to rest but he sneaks out and if we tell him to stop writing he doesn't. I guess we as Team B have a stance to keep going until we can't anymore.

mokuren: Hmph, so you'll only stop when an incident occurs then?

kongou: Mm... You may be right. It's possible things may end up that way at this rate.

mokuren: Well, whatever. If that's what you lot want to happen then go ahead.

kongou: Sorry for all this. I tried to push for C to perform instead of us.

sinju: Really? I haven't picked up on anything like that. Sometimes I think that Heath is really amazing though. I'm not entirely familiar with the direction of his shows, but when he gets on stage he's like an entirely different person. I don't think I could ever sing like that.

maica: ...I don't think Heath is putting as much power into his performance as he'd like, though. There's an urgency to it... As if he's backed into a corner.

sinju: Backed into a corner?

maica: I don't really understand it myself either. But when I watch Heath that's the sense I get.

sinju: Hmm, maybe it's because he had to be admitted to the hospital... I suppose all we can do to help is work our shifts and be there to support both teams.

maica: Yeah, I think that's fine.

mizuki: What? Don't say things that are hard to understand.

ran: It's hard to oppose someone that ya like, I know that. However there are things that people aren't able to see for themselves, and it's the job of the leader to point those things out. Have ya ever opposed Heath before?

kei: This is something that he has decided for himself. There is nothing I can do to convince him otherwise.

zakuro: I see, I see. In that case— If I were to tell you that I have a way to heal him... What would you do?

kei: What do you mean?

zakuro: I shall return Heath's body which he values so dearly back to its original state.

kei: Oh?

zakuro: Of course, I will not do so without compensation however.

zakuro: He is someone with a naturally pale complexion however he has been looking quite ghostly as of late. Even I am beginning to worry.

To Dance 💘

I want to be able to dance in public.

If I have to focus on music because I'm ready to start violin or wait until I am, since I can't just do General Studies anymore, I can dance on my own and call the city to do it alone in parades if I don't have to pay more than I have. (This is an old plan, I had in mind a few months ago.)

The other idea is if I can dance on the team with other girls. If not, I can take dance classes and work towards it. They have classes and maybe performances, maybe even help me march in parades in the city. I just have to send an audition tape at the end of the Spring, maybe April or May, for 1 year following. I just have to pick a major worth my time, and I think they took out art for some reason there. I was looking at French, but I want to see why there are some if's. It's because I like it and it's in a place where I liked and learned French culture, but I may have at least 5 lines of French, already, to speak for, all from my dad, both his parents. Maybe, I can get creative, but there's not much I can do since I don't want a minor, unless it helped in the end for some unknown reason. I just know it's not "everything" as no major is, tho. I think I'll take it and add music. I can take German, too. It's maybe a load of General Studies, which looks fun, and maybe Honors again, depending on who is there and what they say etc. Then, 2 French classes 1st year, 4 or 5 classes, and 8 electives of French. So, the French classes is like almost 15 classes, which is like 3 semesters or 4 of the necessary load. I could do the French 1 sequence my 1st year with 2 General Studies and 1 Elective that's easy? The General Studies may be Honors. 2nd year, I can do 2 French courses, 1 General Studies, and 1 Elective. That's 3 hard classes, 1 easy class, and Dance Team. Full schedule. I have to prep for the experience of dance. It has to be at least 12 credit hours, I think, maybe 9?.. Enough thinking for now for me at least. So, like, maybe 2 classes 1 day 2 classes another, homeworks.. 1 will be speaking French, too tho, important. 1 French elective. 1 General Studies maybe Honors. 1 Elective. So, study 1/2 the day and dance 1/2 the day. It gives you something to do, keeps you out of the gym alone only. I can go to the zoo and pay to get transportation to the aquarium. Of course, I went there and know. Someday, I can do music, again. I can even get ta certificate in Music Education if I do Violin Performance. There, my life.

Is Car Detailing a Hard Job?

I'm often questioned about the South West Auto Detailing certificates I hold. I always answer, "There are none.

There are those quick training sessions that some companies hold, but they're hardly legitimate, standardized programs where the credentials matter or are worth anything, especially if you're wanting to start your own auto detailing business.

I often see people who want to start South West Auto Detailing. Maybe not enough to start a company, which is OK, but at least enough to maintain their car.

In this post, I'll outline a few traits you should possess to become a great detailer. Far from being the best detailer, I don't think I am However, I do believe that I have more skills than the majority of them.

1. Self-Educated

You must love studying on your own. that I mean. i.e., you need to get online, visit Google, and start your search. Learning is SO MUCH simpler thanks to internet tools like Auto Geek Online and other YouTube channels.

You must put in your own time and effort to develop the talent, though. It will be pleasurable if you enjoy it, but you must control yourself and make aside time for it. You can always pay to take a class, but chances are excellent that you won't see the value in paying someone to educate you and will instead do it for fun.

2. Resilience

A car requires time to be thoroughly detailed. Although there are many things you can do to speed up the detailing process, don't anticipate getting amazing results quickly.

Washing your car could take at least an hour if everything is done correctly when you first begin. You're just not used to doing it correctly, not because it's difficult or anything.

Learning, applying, and adapting will consequently require time. Not to add that if you begin to feel pressurized, your job will suffer. If you're cleaning an engine and you start to grow tired or bored in the middle of it, you'll discover a lot more areas that were missed.

3. Attention to detail

As they say, "the devil is in the details." If you're doing it in your car, you probably won't need to worry about it as much as you would if Users were attempting to run a company out of this.

However, when you hire a detailer, people don't appreciate it when they don't clean the minute details, like the seams of the seats. If you have high expectations for how your car looks, that is admirable. As you look for anything that demands more attention, your eyes will become accustomed to focusing on smaller details.

4. Most Pleasurable

You should have fun while performing this. You shouldn't start this hobby if you don't like it. Learning is time- and labor-intensive and is also expensive. You don't want to trick yourself without any justification (although I don't understand why you would).
