i just know this hurt Eunyung more than we're led to believe. he was absolutely convinced he was right seeing how quickly he agreed to the bet. him being wrong about a person's true intentions/ulterior motives must've stung bc 1) he's typically good at reading people so this is him basically failing at one of the 'few good skills' he has and 2) bc Haejoon's uncle being a decent upstanding person proves that good people do exist, Eunyung just never had the privilege of meeting them.

Hi! I was wondering if you could do Venus in the 2nd house. Every post I find describes 2nd House placements as bottomless pits of greed and nothing more, but your post about the Moon in the 2nd was so beautiful and accurate and unlike anything I had read before (like the rest of your work) that I'd love to know your take. Thank you ♥️
Hello love, of course I would like to give you my take on this beautiful placement. ♥️
Venus in the 2nd house
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once your gaze meets theirs, you will come across sensuality at its maximum splendor, beautiful lips and a figure of the gods. Their attractiveness is something notable and outstanding, since Venus is in their house of domicile. Seductive lips, attractive neck, soft skin that is lethal to the touch as well as a glowy dressing style. They enjoy using accessories of all kinds. These people pay a lot of devotion to themselves, taking care of their appearance, using products and clothing that give them comfort. An imposing, attractive and self-confident presence, there is appeal in their reserved personality and charm in their very cordial way of treating others, they have an expensive vibe about them. They may have a tendency to spend money on many things that give them pleasure but that they do not necessarily need. They know how to pamper themselves after a hard day of work or a well-deserved victory.
When it comes to romance, they are probably the type of person who constantly gives their partner gifts, fills them with details, and loves to find many ways to make their partner feel valued and important. Endowed with great magnetism and romanticism, they can be very lovely, touchy and obvious when someone interests them, however, it is not enough for them to just feel that feeling of being in a romance story. They need to know that the person has the same values as them in terms of relationships [loyalty and honesty, for example]. They like people who can help them take things calmly, reliable, trustworthy, stable and constant people. They need a balance of give and take in a relationship. Despite their romantic and love-loving spirit, they have their feet firmly on the ground, analyzing whether that relationship will bring them pleasure and joy or sadness and headaches. It is one of the most loyal placements for Venus, as it shows a person who once decides to give their heart to someone, there is no person who can change their mind. They are very protective people with what they love and have. If Venus has tense aspects with Moon, Mars,Chiron or Pluto, the person may be somewhat possessive or jealous in their relationships, or may even have that tendency to attract partners like that.
This placement favors having a good economic situation, a good eye for business and a lot of diplomacy and knowledge about these types of topics. Many people with this placement can attract couples with a lot of money or oriented to winning and having a lot of income. These natives can generate a lot of money on their own, have financial independence and even afford all the luxuries that they would have liked to have in the past. They have a unique ability and that is that they make others feel very good about themselves in a natural way, they do not force it and they simply have this ability to understand well that makes others feel good and comfortable. Many of them have the goal of feeling complete and good with themselves, being able to give themselves and those they love a good quality of life, and they will always seek both physical and emotional well-being.

hello!!
i honestly think this is a really weird question to ask; but, in your opinion—what age group people should watch bl dramas?
i'm a teen atm who just reads bl fanfics, but lately i've been getting a bunch of bl drama fmvs on my recommendations on yt😭 and it kinda makes me feel tempted to watch the dramas, but i think i'm a bit too young for it, so i'd appreciate if you could tell me what age i should prolly start watching at :D
thank you in advance, i hope you have a good day/night!!
Hum, good question. I'm not sure. I started reading pretty racy stuff very young, so I don't think I'm the best judge.
Tumblr media
But there are certainly BLs that if you read fanfic already, just have lite romances and a bit of smooching. So 13 maybe?
I wouldn't necessarily "recommend it," because I can't make that choice for you. You know yourself much better than I do. But there is certainly BL I would classify as YA in a section of a "bookstore," if that helps?
I think you'll want to try to develop a critical eye to the media you are watching/consuming in order to understand some of the messaging it's doing and the cultural leanings it has. Than you'll be fine. If you've waded into this blog, that's a start. It's all I do.
In other words:
BL is not produced in a bubble it's saying lots of other stuff beyond the romance and smooches.
So is all music, books, art.
Please just remember this stuff is for entertainment, not life guidance, and you'll be fine.
That said, since you're a teen, there are certainly many BLs that are very racy and high heat. And some that represent highly toxic relationships. These might be best avoided for now.
If you read BL fanfic or soft yaoi manga then I do have some rec lists that might work for you (stuck at the bottom) but they weren't written with teens in mind. So if you don't feel like your ready, don't watch it, and if you find yourself at all uncomfortable with the show (and I cannot emphasize this enough) STOP watching it.
Tumblr media
Please always feel comfortable stopping a piece of media if you feel at all unsafe or uncomfortable or just don't like it.
There is always something else out there you'll like more.
Some quick "YA style" BLs off the top of my head:
My Love Mix Up (either Japan - VIki or Thailand - YT)
My School President (Thailand - YT)
Light On Me (Korea - Viki)
Seven Days (Japan - grey)
I Cannot Reach You (Japan - Netflix)
Wish You (Korea - Netflix)
Semantic Error (Korea - Viki)
Our Dating Sim (Korea - Viki)
Takara-kun and Amagi-kun (Japan - Viki)
Restart After Come Back Home (?)
Cherry Magic (Japan - Crunchroll)
Ingredients (Thailand - YT)
He’s Coming to Me (Thailand YT)
Gameboys (The Philippines - Netflix)
Old Fashion Cupcake (Japan - Viki)
About Youth (Taiwan - Viki)
I think it's no accident most of these are from Korea or Japan (mostly on Viki.)
Korea, in general, is going to be largely better for your age bracket, they specialize in soft BL with lower heat levels (with very few exceptions).
Japan can veer heavily in the opposite direction, so come ask me again if you find one not on this list and you're not sure, I can warn you.
Thai stuff is easier to find but it's all over the place and can get super super sexy.
Taiwan tends to go more adult content.
If you're confined mostly to YT because of your age, than you're mostly asking about Thai stuff. Drop me another Ask and I'll draw you up a specific list of YA Thai BL on YT but that might take me a bit of research.

MARCH 7TH, THE WARRIOR
a cute girl who always has her camera with her and enjoys taking pictures of everything around her. according to her, it's good to have a pastime for someone her age, and she's less likely to forget these memories. every photo she takes inside her camera is safely kept close to her heart and in the comfort of her own room, where she can hang it up and smile to herself, hoping to take even more photos while she's around. perhaps deep down there's this inkling fear that one day all those memories she's made with everyone will be forgotten, that these people who've been with her through thick and thin will suddenly become strangers to her.
although she often has a smile on her face, she struggles to find her place in the astral express. in her mind, everyone has a role within the astral express: pom-pom is the conductor, himeko is the navigator, welt is the jack of all-trades, dan heng is the guard, and she is... the warrior. she doesn't necessarily feel nor act like one; warriors commonly don't wield a bow and arrow—rather, they hold their swords with a tight grip, slashing through every obstacle that comes their way, and when faced with a formidable foe, they push forward with bravery in their hearts and end up victorious. one day, she wishes to be just like those warriors, and maybe she'll find her place in the express.
contrary to belief, a cute girl such as herself is very much into mystery novels, especially ones that feature a detective. how they follow the trail of clues to piece together to hopefully solve whatever mystery they're trying to uncover—that's what makes the story so compelling for you. how you can read a clue and not understand its purpose only to realize what the clue meant many pages later, how there's a sense of satisfaction after reaching the end of the protagonist's journey to figure out the truth, how they learned so much about the world around them, their family, their friends, their enemies, their frenemies, but most importantly—themselves. to march, the feeling of needing to find what's inside a mystery is all too familiar, for she—herself—is the greatest mystery.
"a girl who once slumbered in eternal ice and knows nothing about her past. to find out the truth about her origins, she decided to travel with the astral express. as of right now, she has prepared about 67 different versions of her life story for herself."

JINGYUAN, GENERAL OF THE XIANZHOU LUOFU
the "dozing general," a title he's gained through his seemingly lazy demeanor, taking every opportunity to take a nap, spending an awful amount of time in leisure, gradually falling asleep during one of fu xuan's lengthy reasonings of why she should be nominated to generalship, and much more. yet he's much more attentive than he lets out to be, able to perceive the intentions of other people, keeping his cards close to his chest, knowing exactly how to play them at the right moment to catch the other person off guard, and checkmate you when you least expect it.
through his careful management of affairs and wise strategy of leading the cloud knights, the peaceful years seem to stretch into many centuries for the citizens of the luofu. while some have complained that the general feared combat so much so that he rarely resorts to battle it out, yet that couldn't be further from the truth. the reason is simple: he's protective—not corrective; he does not consider saving the xianzhou luofu from disaster at the last minute as a showcase of wisdom. he continues to oversee the xianzhou luofu, using his intellect to cut down on any thorny problems they encounter—like the tip of the sharpest blade.
even then, his renowned abilities as a general and his intellect are nothing against the cruel reality of time. in the past, the high-cloud quintet was regarded as legends during their time, accomplishing countless feats throughout their prime. however, in just less than a hundred years, the five of them soon fell apart. he watched and witnessed the destruction fall upon his very own friends—how, at the very end, he's the only one remaining. fate has been so cruel to other people around him yet somehow spares his out of everyone else, a haunting reminder of his powerlessness against the enemy that is time.
"the divine foresight, one of the seven arbiter-generals of the xianzhou alliance, leads the cloud knights of the xianzhou luofu. a student of the luofu's previous sword champion, though not known for his martial prowess."
Tumblr media
JINGLIU, FORMER SWORD CHAMPION
in the present day, her name is one that is considered forbidden, and it has been like that a long time ago. her name has been erased from any sort of history recorded in the public's eye; only those in higher positions or who lived long enough to see the high-cloud quintet in their prime would remember it. remember how she was the one who established that high-cloud quintet, remember how she taught jing yuan the art of the sword and saw the fruits of his effort turn into his glory, remember how many praised her for wielding a sword so impressively, and that the title of sword champion is one she's earned rightfully so. they remembered, for the past can never be truly forgotten.
she recalls the first time she met her student, a young but devious child who had asked the same questions as she did back when she was younger and when her master was still alive. "master, why do you insist on using the sword? aren't there other weapons available you could've used?" he curiously asked during one of their trainings. "that's like asking why poets write poems; there are many ways to express oneself, but this is the only way i express myself," she replies with wisdom, the same kind her master has given her back then. her master is no longer around, though; there is no one to instruct her or provide any more lessons. however, she no longer needs one; the way of the sword has been imprinted into her system so long ago and so many times. she knows everything there is about a sword; they've become a part of her now.
she's has lifted and wielded many swords in this lifetime, and in many battles and wars she's stood side-to-side with allies and her disciple—no matter which way her sword swung, abominations could never escape the death or imprisonment destined for them. she just never thought she'd be pointing the end of her sword towards a lifelong friend in battle. it was during that time that she felt trapped in her own nightmares again, the destruction of her own home caused by that ominous planet, and she was unable to struggle against such a fate. yet as she leaped forward into the battlefield, suddenly familiar words were heard: "i will cut down even the stars in the sky."
"former sword champion of the luofu, and the creator of the cloud knights' legends of undefeated might. now, her name has been wiped from the records, and she is a traitor of the xianzhou walking on the fine line between sanity and mara-struck."

No one is sending me bg3 tk headcanons so i will speak a few of my own. please send me bg3 asks lol. these little gremlin people in my computer are all i can think about
Wyll is definitely more of a ler than a lee in my mind, BUT i see that man in a crop top every single night, you cannot tell me he is not also crazy ticklish. And he definitely doesn't mind it -- he just doesn't want it too much. He much prefers making his romantic interest smile and blush and laugh, and waxing poetic in that wonderfully romantic way of his to make them blush even more. I ask what we are and he compares me to the sun at different times of day in a way that makes me swoon?? Imagine how he'd describe your tav's smile and laughter and flushed cheeks. My god I am so in love with this fictional man.
I have not gotten to a point in the game yet where my bestie Karlach is all fixed up (i only just started Act 2 about 10 hours of gameplay ago -- i expect to be here for another 30-40 hours at least before we finally reach Act 3 lol), I can only assume it happens for her, and i think that when she is fixed up she would go WILD with the tickle fights. She would find it so, so much fun. She probably loves tickling, on all sides, and given how bold she is when she comes onto you the first time (I am so sorry i had to turn you down girlie ✌️😔 i already had my eyes on Wyll), I think she would definitely have 0 problems asking to be tickled or to tickle someone else
i think if i tried to tickle Lae'zel she would kill me. But also we have like, medium approval because I am too nice for her and so i don't know a lot about her lol. Y'all who have had better relationships with Lae'zel or who have romanced her should tell me your thoughts, y'all probably have much better understandings of her character than I do, I would love to know what you think about Lae'zel and tickles
Gale insists he is not ticklish. He tries to distract you with fancy words and long sentences until you forget what you were talking about in the first place, because all of a sudden you're like. Talking about the history of Waterdeep or smth. Anyways, he does this because he is wicked ticklish. And I don't think he necessarily minds being tickled, but I definitely think he's the kind of guy to wanna keep up appearances for as long as he can lol. Gale lovers please correct me if I am wrong, but I always get distracted by his long-winded explanations and fanciful way of speaking (is this how people feel when they talk to me??? i am also extremely long-winded -- as you can see from this post -- and people think i speak funny and in an abnormal manner also lol). That long-windedness comes in handy with teasing though, I'm sure.
Shadowheart is another one I can't get a read on. I have had really good approval with her from the beginning, we are somehow besties, and yet i know so little about her. She is very hard to read. I have no idea what her thoughts and opinions are here lol. I think she would regard me with great disdain if I tried to tickle her
Astarion,,,,, i don't think he'd vibe with most people tickling him, OR tickling most people. Purely from existing in fandom, despite not romancing him (yet -- he is next on my list. I can fix him), i know a lot of spoilers for his general arc in a romance. I don't think he would let anyone but his lover touch him like that (or touch anyone but his lover like that), and only after a lot of healing. It's a very vulnerable situation to put oneself in!!! I feel like for the first long while he'd be far more interesting in ler-ing, he would have to be pretty comfortable and secure to feel comfortable in a lee situation.

Maybe it's just because I'm sleepy and my brain is tired and irritable, but I do wish fandom in general weren't so absolutely intent on casting all familial or quasi-familial relationships into some near approximation of US nuclear family idealization.
Acting as a caretaker for a child doesn't automatically make someone their "real parent" or "adopted parent" or "any parent at all" if the child doesn't see them that way. These caretaking relationships can be messy, begrudging, or essentially coercive (in both fiction and IRL, and in life, forcing children into situations where "they'll be taken care of" is often coercive and/or predatory).
And sometimes a caretaker adult, whether a natural parent, adoptive parent, some kind of guardian, or more amorphous caretaker, is ... bad, actually. It's understandable for the children they take care of (whether literal children or now-adult people who experienced it previously) to have had negative experiences they have complicated feelings about, to have complicated feelings about their caretakers that may not distill down to "real parents", to be capable of harsh criticism of their former caretakers, even if they love them.
Sometimes it is the simpler scenario where a child is adopted and it looks very much like a conventional "nuclear" relationship (though even then, the child can have more complex and inconvenient feelings than they're often supposed to have). But—okay, I may be biased from coming from a family that was licensed for foster care, which saw a lot of children essentially forced into foster care with varying complicated feelings about it that didn't always equate to "this person who looks after me is my mother"—even after a long time, sometimes.
And there's frequently a nasty pressure on children placed in "care" to either reach out to their birth or adoptive parents, or to wholly turn their backs on them and accept their current caretakers as the only parents who matter. But usually things are messier than that. You can care about a caretaker, you can respect and love them, and still not feel like you're their child. Or maybe you do! It just depends.
This can happen with siblings as well, especially when there's a big age difference—yeah, one of the siblings may be functionally filling the shoes of their parents as well as they can, but it doesn't necessarily make them actual parents in the eyes of their younger siblings (or themselves). It can, but doesn't have to. Or maybe it's something messier, like when the relationship is almost parental, but not quite, and the exact nature of the dynamic is hard to pin down.
There's also the case where the relationship may have been parental at one point, but one of the parties (usually the caretaker) burned bridges so badly that the child (often an adult at this point) cuts ties and doesn't deny that the caretaker filled a parental role back then, but wholly rejects it as any kind of current reality. This can happen with biological family, but also with looser caretaker relationships as well (esp the cultier ones).
I'm thinking of a lot of fandom examples of these kinds of indeterminate caretaker-child (or former child) relationships, where either we know or have good reason to believe the child doesn't regard a former caretaker as exactly the same as a parent, or we just don't know what the nature of the relationship is, and fandom will be absolutely insistent that the only possible way to read it is parent-child.
And also, sometimes there's nothing wrong with the caretaker relationship, but it's still not parent-child. It simply doesn't map onto this parental mold that fandom tries to box all adult-child caretaking relationships into, because family is more complicated than a single, very simplistic model allows.

I feel like Jervis and Hugo would make each other normal (they would literally make each other so much worse)
I'm literally writing a fic right now about them making each other normal (worse). They would fuel each other's fucked up kinks <3 But honestly, at the same time they would make each other better in some ways as well. I love that cute shit <33
And this is where I could have ended this response, but because I love these two so much and think about them all the time, I wrote all this:
It depends on the writer just how ”aware” Jervis is. Some writers like to write him permanently stuck in Wonderland and in some versions (mostly Pre-Crisis) it's like he's never even been there. I prefer the versions somewhere in between; the ones where he's lucid most of the time, but slips back into Wonderland under stress. And I especially like the versions where, at times, it is unclear whether he is actually in Wonderland or just faking it to get out off a situation (think Gotham Central #19-22).
I'm saying all this, because Jervis' awareness is very key to how I write this relationship. Aside from those moments when he is genuinely in Wonderland and genuinely disconnected from reality, he is very aware and has a very keen eye in my verse. This comes from the whole hypnotist and general Mind Games World Champion thing. I think as a hypnotist Jervis needs to be very good at reading people to know exactly what to say and do to put people under his spell. And given that he is an expert in mind games himself, it is impossible to play mind games with him. In general, I love the contradiction of a character who pretends to not even be here mentally most of the time, being actually incredibly keen eyed, smart and fucking with people's heads. They think he's lost his mind, but they're the ones who are about to lose their minds. He might seem like he doesn't understand what's going on at all, and sometimes that really is the case, but most of the time he knows exactly what's happening – even better than most people.
How this relates to Hugo is that he basically has immunity to Hugo's bullshit. You cannot play mind games with him, because he knows every trick in the book. He was there when mind games were invented. My Jervis is like a human lie detector, if lie detectors actually worked and Hugo, as we know, is a big fat liar. I love it, I love it, I love it. Hugo cannot stop lying, it's so second nature to him that he lies even when he doesn't necessarily need to and every time, every time Jervis catches him on it. This is where it's at for me. Hugo has been Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlbossing his way though life for 52 years and suddenly there's this 150cm tall 48-year-old man who finally tells him to shut the fuck up. I love it. Immovable object, unstoppable force. I love it.
I just love the frustration that it ignites in Hugo when he cannot lie to get what he wants, when someone is forcing him to be genuine for the first time in over 50 years. I think it would remind Hugo of being young. See, he wasn't born a Girlboss, he had to learn how to Gaslight, how to Gatekeep. He was always shitty and was trying to manipulate and control others from a young age, but it was hard. He made mistakes and things didn't always work out and it left him frustrated. And it's all happening again now, his bullshit doesn't work on Jervis and it makes him feel frustrated, angry and finally depressed. But ultimately, it is all for the better.
I think it's evident reading Pre-Crisis Hugo issues, that he wanted people around him and not just as his little minions that he would dispose of when they weren't of use to him anymore. He has those too, of course, but I'm saying he wouldn't have made sure Magda wasn't defenseless if worse came to pass, had he not truly cared for her, he wouldn't have healed Bruce's wounds and ”died” to protect his secret, had he not cared for him. He wanted people around him and he deeply cared for the few people he was close with. All of his relationships are fucked up, because he is fucked up, but it is clear to me that this man both wanted to love others and was capable of loving others.
He wants people around, but I think it's very difficult for him to let anyone that close. Even though in my verse Jervis is the one person next to Batman (and mayyyybe Joker) that he respects, I don't think that he would ever even consider letting Jervis close, letting Jervis see behind the lies. But that's just the thing, Jervis saw thought them anyway. It was like he was forced to let Jervis close, because he couldn't keep him away. And as stated, it makes him frustrated, angry and even depressed, but ultimately, it is for the better. It does him good to be genuine around someone for once. To stop lying for two seconds and just be himself. It does actually make him more normal.
For example, if Hugo was upset over something, his first response would be to lie that he wasn't, as to not seem weak. Think of when Thorne had him kidnapped and beaten by thugs and Hugo was still going on about how: ”Threats mean nothing to Hugo Strange! You mean nothing to Hugo Strange!” Yet, after he had faked his death, he spent so much time and effort on getting his revenge on Thorne – TWICE. This man had to avenge what he suffered in Thorne's hands TWICE. I don't know about you, but I'm pretty sure the torture did mean something to Hugo Strange. Plus, we have seen countless times the way he responds to his plans not working out: faking his own death. Seriously, the tiniest thing goes wrong and he's out there faking his death again. This man CANNOT handle setbacks.
Imagine now if Jervis caught him on that first lie, when he pretends to not be upset. Imagine he was forced to face the fact that he very much is upset. Imagine he had go through that emotion, instead of running away from it (to his ”grave”). If he actually sat through that emotion, he would find it isn't the end. It wasn't that bad. Life goes on. Jervis could never fix him, but I do think that he could make him more normal.
And what does Jervis get out of all this? Well, he gets to play with Hugo's nice round ass <3

Okay, this is one for the trial ask. Ya know, the one where Hyrule's judge decided that their best chance at stopping this bs was for him to experience the consequences of his actions?
Anyway, I loved that, but I was really looking for theor reactions.
I would loooove to read their reactions to Hyrule's initial sentence followed by their thoughts & feelings throughout. Like, I'm looking for how they feel about it. Especially in the case of TP, as it'd be here that he'd learn that, rather than having been tortured & slaughtered by Hyrule as he'd been believed. Only his ardent followers were thus & every other Gerudo was banished from Hyrule.
Now, I'm of the opinion that they aren't necessarily thriving, but they are certainly doing better socially with other tribes such as the Zuna in the Desert of Doubt. There's definitely struggle, but there doesn't seem to be any hard feelings towards Hyrule.
I'd also like to see TotK's reaction to the Gerudo of the Wild Era 7 how they're actually doing well as well as maintaining their own cultural identity & aren't subjugated by Hyrule in any way. More so an ally nation in an alliance. Yes, Hyrule acts as the head of which, but they also have every right to back out if they wish just like any of the other tribes.
Like, yes, there's the occasional perv, but in-general, the Gerudo are respected.
But, keep in mind that the Gerudo of TotK seem to very specifically feel responsible for him & even feel ashamed of him. Like, it's always the Gerudo who ever bring up their ties to Ganondorf as a point of shame in TotK. No one else. Suggesting that this feeling of shame is very personal & a matter of honor to them. Something that they wish to make right, not just with the other races, but also with themselves.
And, I can imagine that TotK will have to work really hard because of the sheer gravity of the attack he levied against the Gerudo themselves.
I already told you about how the attack on Gerudo Town would be perceived & that's from an outsider's perspective. Now, he has to stand face to face with them too.
I just really wanna see all the Dorfs process this information & come to terms with just how badly he fucked his own people over.
Like, mentally & emotionally.
Ooo, very nice. I liked reading this one and imagining it. The path to redemption is a long and jagged one, one that is hard to traverse, but I believe everyone can make it. Everyone can make the choice to be good and better. Everyone can be good if they just try (OK Papyrus calm down lol)
Once again I try to do Ganondorfs only, but Chat is in love with Demise and added him. It's nonsensical, seeing as he AINT EVEN GERUDO, but alas, Chat doesn't listen to me in this matter. So Demon King is forced through the redemption arc as well.
************************************************************************
The Initial Sentence and Reactions:
Hyrule's Judge: "Ganondorf, you are hereby sentenced to experience firsthand the consequences of your actions upon the Gerudo people. You will live among them, face their hardships, and understand the pain you have caused. Only then can you hope to seek redemption."
Wind Waker Ganondorf
Initial Reaction:
Shock and Anger: Wind Waker Ganondorf would be visibly taken aback, his eyes narrowing in fury. The notion of being forced to live among the people he sees as tools for his ambitions is an insult to his pride.
Inner Conflict: Despite his anger, a small part of him would be curious about the true state of his people.
Thoughts & Feelings Throughout:
First Encounter: Upon seeing the Gerudo struggle, he initially dismisses their hardships as a consequence of their own weakness.
Growing Realization: Over time, witnessing their resilience and sense of community despite the difficulties, he begins to see them not just as pawns but as individuals with their own lives and struggles.
Emotional Conflict: He grapples with feelings of guilt and responsibility, something entirely new to him. This conflict softens his anger, replacing it with a grudging respect for his people.
Self-Reflection: By the end of the sentence, Wind Waker Ganondorf feels a profound sense of failure and regret for the pain he has caused. This realization, however, is marred by his enduring ambition, making him vow to change his methods, not his goals.
Ocarina of Time Ganondorf
Initial Reaction:
Outrage and Denial: Ocarina of Time Ganondorf would be enraged, denying any wrongdoing. He views himself as a ruler who has done what is necessary for power and control.
Scorn: He initially holds contempt for the sentence, considering it a waste of his time.
Thoughts & Feelings Throughout:
Hostility: His initial interactions with the Gerudo are marked by hostility. He expects them to fear and revere him, but instead, he faces their disdain and pain.
Confronting Reality: The stories of their suffering, especially from the elder Gerudo who remember his reign, start to penetrate his hardened heart.
Reflection: He begins to understand the depth of their betrayal and abandonment, feeling a twisted sense of responsibility. This is a bitter pill to swallow for someone who has always prided himself on his strength and power.
Transformation: By the end, he feels a deep, conflicting mix of guilt and anger, not just at the world but at himself. This experience plants a seed of doubt in his mind about his past actions and future ambitions.
Twilight Princess Ganondorf
Initial Reaction:
Stoic Acceptance: Twilight Princess Ganondorf would meet the sentence with a cold, stoic expression. He sees it as another trial to overcome.
Pride: Despite this, there's a flicker of doubt about the fate of his people that he has long suppressed.
Thoughts & Feelings Throughout:
Confronting the Truth: When he learns that his followers were tortured and slaughtered, but the rest of the Gerudo were merely banished, his anger towards Hyrule is momentarily eclipsed by confusion and relief.
New Alliances: Seeing the Gerudo forming alliances with tribes like the Zuna in the Desert of Doubt, thriving in their way, challenges his perception of their fate.
Internal Struggle: He feels a mix of pride and shame. Pride that his people survived and adapted, shame for having failed them and believing them all to be dead.
Renewed Purpose: By the end, Twilight Princess Ganondorf feels a profound sense of duty to truly lead his people, to ensure their safety and prosperity, even if it means changing his approach.
Hyrule Warriors Ganondorf
Initial Reaction:
Defiance: Hyrule Warriors Ganondorf would react with defiance, viewing the sentence as a challenge to his authority and power.
Curiosity: Despite this, there is a part of him that is curious about the current state of his people.
Thoughts & Feelings Throughout:
Resistance: His initial interactions with the Gerudo are marked by attempts to assert his dominance and control.
Reality Check: As he sees the Gerudo working hard to survive and thrive, he starts to see the consequences of his actions not just in terms of power but in human terms.
Softening: He gradually begins to appreciate their resilience and strength, feeling a growing sense of responsibility.
Commitment: By the end, Hyrule Warriors Ganondorf feels a renewed commitment to his people, vowing to be a better leader, not just a conqueror.
Tears of the Kingdom Ganondorf
Initial Reaction:
Resentment: Tears of the Kingdom Ganondorf would react with deep resentment, viewing the sentence as a betrayal by both Hyrule and his people.
Confusion: The notion that the Gerudo might be doing well without him would be both confusing and infuriating.
Thoughts & Feelings Throughout:
Initial Shock: Seeing the Gerudo as an ally nation, respected and maintaining their cultural identity, challenges everything he believed.
Shame: Learning that the Gerudo feel responsible for him and ashamed of his actions is a deep blow to his pride.
Deep Reflection: He faces intense inner turmoil, realizing the gravity of his actions and their impact on his people.
Redemption: By the end, Tears of the Kingdom Ganondorf feels a deep need for redemption. He vows to make amends, not through power and conquest but through genuine leadership and support for his people.
Demise
Initial Reaction:
Rage: Demise would react with intense rage, seeing the sentence as a challenge to his inherent power and authority.
Disdain: He views the Gerudo as tools for his ambitions, and the idea of understanding their struggles is beneath him.
Thoughts & Feelings Throughout:
Resistance: His interactions are marked by attempts to reassert his dominance and control over the Gerudo.
Unyielding: Unlike the others, Demise's initial disdain and anger rarely waver. He struggles to see the value in understanding his people’s plight.
Gradual Realization: Only through persistent exposure to their suffering and resilience does he begin to feel a grudging respect.
Inner Conflict: By the end, Demise feels an internal conflict between his desire for power and a newfound, albeit reluctant, understanding of the true consequences of his actions. This does not lead to a change in his ambitions, but it does plant a seed of doubt and a sense of responsibility that he cannot entirely ignore.
Conclusion
Each Ganondorf and Demise would experience a journey of emotional and mental turmoil, grappling with the consequences of their actions on the Gerudo people. This experience would challenge their perceptions, forcing them to confront their responsibilities and the impact of their actions. While some may be more inclined towards genuine change and redemption, others might remain conflicted, struggling between their inherent desires for power and the newfound understanding of their people's suffering.

morwen 1 13 22.... aerin 8 3 5
From this character ask game here!
1. Most visually striking feature
I’ll go with the canon answer because I find it so compelling! Definitely Morwen’s eyes! I will make a collage one day of all the relevant quotes. The light in them hard to endure…
She is in general though a rather striking person. Morwen has an intensity to her demeanor and gaze that people tend to have an er…visceral…reaction to.
13. Their ideal climate and weather
Not Hithlum. Morwen dislikes humidity. She prefers drier weather and climate. Dorthonion has a markedly different climate than Hithlum and one Morwen greatly preferred. She likes cooler weather. Early to mid autumn is probably ideal temperature.
22. Are they good at sensing the thoughts and emotions of others? How do they experience them?
Oh I need an entire separate post for this! In short, Not usually. Morwen often considers the emotions of others, and herself, to be a hindrance. When she identifies them or understands them, she still doesn’t always consider them.
I think she is a very observant person even if she isn’t particularly emotionally attuned (? Unsure of word?). Morwen certainly notices changes in others, in their demeanor or features.
I remember this line here about her, trying to read Túrin’s face like a riddle.
She tends to experience them quietly. She’s not good at emotional language or discussion and strongly dislikes it. She’s certainly aware that people are often driven by emotion and she doesn’t necessarily discount this, but she doesn’t like it. It’s vital to explain though that she shares this sentiment as much if not more towards her own emotions. For Morwen was stern with others as with herself etc etc
Anyways I feel I am thoroughly failing at explaining what I mean for which I apologize:(
Aerin
3. Favorite view
Aerin’s favorite view are the expanse of fields and streams from the surroundings of the home she grew up in. She also loved the view of Dor-lómin from upon Amon Darthir where she rode several times as a teenager.
5. Do they prefer enclosed or wide open spaces
Definitely open! Aerin grew up riding and traveling with her family’s horses and thus very active. I’ve talked about this before but the restrictions of her literal space and movement is one of the worst parts of her captivity and the hardest to adjust to.
She’s often further confined as punishment for her disobedience, especially in the first few years.
8. Their favorite scents
Clean horse fur, grass after rain in the summer, the smell of blankets or clothes warmed by the sun, rosemary, lilac (but post Nírnaeth it makes her sad, or even bitter), sweet hay
Thank you @welcomingdisaster I love them

Hey howdy hey!
I see you are starting to write fics for trigun! I just started watching the newer anime and a bit of the old as well and it’s great! Vash is my favorite! He’s adorable!
I was wondering if you would do headcanons on what he would look for in a partner or s/o? Not body wise cuz I don’t think he would just anyone on that, but maybe personality wise? Would they be bubbly and goofy or dark and mysterious? Can totally be bender neutral for everyone to enjoy! And if you wanna do both New Vash and OG Vash that’s fine too! I’m ok with whichever or both 😊😊
If that’s not something you feel comfortable doing that’s totally fine and I completely understand! Thank you very much and I really enjoy your fics so far! I hope you continue to do more!!
I see your og Vash vs new Vash and raise you the additional Manga Vash.
MaxVash- Manga Vash
AniVash- ogAnime Vash
StamVash- Tristamp Vash
***For those reading in the future, this is written 3 sub episodes into Tristamp. If anything is inaccurate, it's cuz I haven't seen it yet. No one has. I can't wait to get to know him though.
**Technically spoilers for the manga. Not end fight stuff, but like, final wrap up chapter stuff.
What Vash looks for in an s/o
Overall, Kindness has to be the #1 thing in all 3 Vash's books. His s/o must be kind to everything and everyone wherever possible. Children, Elderly, adults, and even animals all deserve the same respect in his eyes. As much as he would prefer them to be a pacifist like himself, as long as you're not like, straight up murdering in front of him (spiders or otherwise), he should be fine. a kill in the past, or previously working as a bounty hunter or assassin etc, is forgiven, "just no more killing okay?"
All 3 have to quintuple check that you're 1,000% okay with living a life where you can never ever settle down. You'll always be on the run, never staying in one place, and unable to make many real friends. You'll essentially only have each other. So many people have turned against these boys, and they want to know you completely understand what this life will be giving you.
General personality isn't necessarily a barrier to him. He can get along with basically anyone. They obviously have to treat him kindly, be respectful, and be able to handle his goofy antics in stride. From playing with the neighborhood kids, to partying at the local bar, they gotta keep up. They don't have to participate, but knowing that that's where Vash spends a lot of his time without being upset about it is important.
They also have to be able to handle the trauma these boys have stuffed in them. Not to be his therapist, but let him cry about the shit in his past, losing his friends, etc and then never bring it up unless he asks.
I think AniVash would enjoy the contrast of someone scruffy, rough, and a little edgy, because they can keep him grounded, and see angles he can't. He's very stubborn, so sometimes someone who can knock him out of his rooted ways of thinking would be relatively healthy for him.
StamVash, however, would prefer someone bubbly and big into self care, because he kind of seems stuck in his own pity party, and needs someone to pull him out. He needs to see the good that he's done where he has so far.
MaxVash would want someone to hold him and unapologetically wants someone to take care of him. By the end of the Manga, He's so tired, even though he can't show it. He's been searching for his brother, he has used up all of his power, and he's at the end of his life. He's been fighting for so long, and even after he's essentially saved the planet, he still has a gigantic bounty in his head.
Bounty hunters and the Space military are still after him for what happened at the end of the manga. Even the Insurance girls- I'm sorry, Reporter girls are after him to get the scoop for their TV series! He just wants to sleep. He's tired of being on the run because he has to, and he wants someone to take care of him now.
In reality though, MaxVash would never really admit to that. He also wants to show you off to his friends. The group of you Him, Milly, Meryl and Livio can just go to a bar, get drunk, and have a good time. Maybe even with Knives joining them, and no one giving two shits about his bounty.
AniVash would want someone to keep him company. His journey is full of a lot more travel, and he seems like he just needs someone to play cards with, chess, and have intellectual conversations with. And, not that you'd be playing therapist by any means, but he wants someone to talk about his time before July. Sort out some thoughts, and have an outside opinion.
StamVash seems like he needs someone who will simply stick by him, no matter what. In the third episode, he didn't even hesitate when he was told to leave. Just picked up his bag that happened to be at his feet in the wreckage and left. I think at this point yes looking for companionship, and someone to actually live in his world with him. Someone who shares his efforts in stopping Knives from taking the plants from humans, and doesn't have to hide anything from.

This also means that certain topics can lead me to talk for like hours, even with strangers. My love language is physical touch, i love hugs or linking arms with people, and i have a tendency to lay against someone when sitting or if im very close with someone sometimes biting them (softly i promise lol). I do struggle a lot with recognising my emotions and i dont really like fighting. I dont really talk about my feelings, mostly opinions. I am known to be very good at debates, and usually lead them at school, because i am known to be able to form logic based opinions easily. I am creative and good at analysing situation and calculating the best outcome in my head. Also im very much the oldest sibling.
My hobbies:
I love art and am beginning my studies to become a visual artist in video game development. I love singing and music and never go anywhere without my headphones. Im good at writing and really enjoy writing essays and stories. Biology and nature are two of my biggest interests, specifically marine biology. Baking and cooking really helps calming me down. 🩰 : i ship you with james potter
╰┈➤ geminis and aries get along very well. you both can share endless thoughts with a never ending excitement.
╰┈➤ james is the extroverted one so of course he'll make the first move. at first you were shy and timid when he approached but it quickly went away after getting to know him more. you knew his character because he literally is an open book but there's also a few pages that he doesn't show.
╰┈➤ when you're overwhelmed, james always knows the right thing to do. growing up surrounded by loving friends, he knew how to comfort someone !
╰┈➤james loves it when you talk about your interests. it doesn't necessarily have to be something entertaining, he just loves hearing you ramble even if he doesn't understand you.
╰┈➤ you mentioned that you love hugs and what is james if his personality is not giving good hugs? random hugs will he do. on the hallway after a class, while you both are sitting comfortably on the armchair. also he'd walk you to class (even if you both didn't share the same one) and would link your arms together on the way.
╰┈➤ he is definitely shocked when you bit him, frozen, eyes big with confusion. though he laughs after and questions you about it. after some times he will get used to your habit and come to expect little bites.
╰┈➤ fights are not something that occur regularly. it rarely did. he knew you struggle to interpret your emotions- contrast to how easy you were in analysing situations, so he'll just be there and rubbing your back while you think deeply inside your head.
╰┈➤ helping james in writing his essay. he puts minimal effort when it comes to essays so you offer to help him finish it in which he was so thankful for.
╰┈➤ baking him your own delicacies often. not only does the activity calms you down but james also enjoys your food !!

Happy STS! Are any of your characters based on people you know/knew/met irl (whether loosely or specifically)?
warning: long rambling and probably a bit senseless because I can't think today.
Hello, you!
Real life is the greatest source of inspiration. I believe that to write characters that feel real, one must draw from real life. I suppose it is not surprising if I tell you that that all my characters are inspired by real-life people: me, my family, my friends, the toddlers I babysit, the people I met online, and even complete strangers that I have observed whenever I'm out. Writing good characters, characters that'll remain with the reader long after they finished their reading, demands a keen eye, an openness, and a certain objectivity.
To take my main novel for example, a lot of Oliver's thoughts, fears, and memories are directly taken from my diaries from a certain time in my life. His life at the beginning of the novel — in a small village, living with his parents who barely seem to care about him, and an overwhelming desire to leave this place and experience something new in a way only Emma Bovary could understand —, that too is inspired by my own life. And it doesn't necessarily stop to characters. Oliver wants to flee his house every time he looks out the window in his kitchen. Why? Because from there, he can see the church from the village he lives in and he fears he'll die before he ever got to leave this place, and will be buried in the church's cemetery. I suppose you won't be too surprised if I were to tell you that from my kitchen we can indeed see the Church of the village I live in, standing tall and menacing like a bad omen. He loves modernist poetry, I do too. At some point in the story, he gets gastritis from stress. I had to go through this ordeal last year too lmao. Of course, he's not the only one to have bits and pieces of me.
Wilhelm does too, although his traits are mine but exaggerated. His moral nihilism, his tendency to be quiet, his apathy, his rarefied talent for secrecy. But also, the way he learns languages to pass the time and, as a result, became a polyglot. He cannot hear too well from his left ear — I had too many otitis as a child and it damaged mine too. He fears reincarnation — this, I did too at some point. The idea of my soul just hopping into another body every time I died, even if I were to kill myself, and being unable to stop this loop didn't sit with me very well.
I'd say most of my characters have bits and pieces from me, but they do so in varying degrees. Oliver and Wilhelm are, quite obviously, the ones with the highest quantity while the other characters have some but it's more like added details, you know. After all, I'm the one to write them and, I suppose, it simply slips out. Sometimes, when I enter a room, I tend to open the door by lazily giving it a hit with my shoulder. This is something I didn't know I did until my sister pointed it out. This, for example I gave it to James. In our house, we can always hear music coming from my room, including a lot of classic records, that too, I gave James. He doesn't like being talked to in the morning, neither do I. But a lot comes from other people I've known throughout my life. The way James likes to read a certain genre of books, generally vintage sci-fi/horror: Alas, Babylon by Pat Frank; Swan Song by Robert McCammon — this one, James actually buys it during the story —; Strange Eons by Robert Bloch; The Incredible Melting Man by Phil Smith; Horror House by J. N Williamson; The Cats by Nick Sharma; but also books by P.G Wodehouse sometimes, too. I knew a guy like that who would read nothing else but those books. The way James can be easily irritable. This comes from my father. His love for animals, — petting every cat he meets and even discussing with birds — it comes from my brother. The way he sits, holds his cigarette, and stands — it all comes from different people's I've observed whether in my circle or outside while I was grocery shopping or going out somewhere. And this is generally the case for most of my characters, really. They're a carefully crafted mix of all those people that crossed my path. You could be smoking a cigarette in front of me right now and I'd be observing the way you hold it, what brand you smoke, the way the smoke moves around you, the way you move, what you say and how you say it — I'd be taking notes in my mind and giving it to a character.
Now, I rarely have a character that's based entirely on one person only for that book. But it does happen. Oliver's parents are strictly based on my own. Donna, who was supposed to be a minor character but finally ended up being more important than I had originally planned, was, in a high degree, based on my best friend the same degree that Oliver was mostly based on me. Her height, her tooth gap, the sound of her voice, the way she speaks, her red hair, her obsession with movies but also the way she's easily scared of horror ones, her zine that she discreetly distributes to other students... All those things are based on my best friend.
I am just enumerating a few details here and there but there are so many. However, it'd be far too long if I were to keep going and go over all my other characters. And this post is already getting too long. So, I am going to leave you with this:
I think I've already said it on my blog but I strongly recommend writers to journal a lot. You never know when a certain thought can be thought by one of your characters later on. I record everything in there, all in past tense, as if it were a novel — conversations I had; taking note of the way people talk, or move; places; weird dreams I had; thoughts; feelings; ideas; even the weather, for it exercises my description skills. Anything and everything really. It's an excellent exercise but also, I found, an excellent place to put observations and details that will help shapes future characters et hoc genus omne.

Hi there! I recently stumbled upon your account and I must say that this is what I was looking for for quite some time. I am interested by your matching up event and was wondering if you're still up for it?
Fandom: Honkai Star Rail (and/or) Genshin Impact
Preference: women
Characters I would NOT like to be paired up with: men
(I am pretty much gay)
I am a cisgender woman, she/her pronouns. ENTJ, Virgo sun, Libra moon, Scorpio rising.
I am androgynous-looking, can easily be mistaken for a dude. My voice is deep and had a slight rasp to it. When it comes to clothes I present soft masc. I am 6', very athletic (as it is a big part of my life to stay active). I have brown eyes and wavy hair that is styled in a short wolfcut with a middle part and curtain bangs. No tattoos, but when I have the money I will get covered in designs.
I perceive myself as a calm and collected person who is more on the quiet and observing side. Which, close ones always tell me, makes me appear intimidating and judging (Scorpio rising). I like to keep my social circle small and trustworthy because I have trust issues. But around my friends I am friendly and always there to help out with the teenage dramas. I would say my top traits are sarcasm, assertiveness, loyalty, and adaptiveness. (Being an ENTJ and Virgo sun say enough about me, but I am softened up by my Libra moon.)
I am a very artsy person, but also very sporty. I am passionate about a lot of things (playing the guitar, drawing, writing, reading, acting, playing soccer, volleyball, training calisthenics, martial arts...) but in this short lifetime I had to choose one, and it is drawing - more specifically, becoming an Architect.
I've never been even close to catching feelings for someone. I've had barely any crushes, none of them real, none of them celebrities, just successful/badass/dangerous/mean women from fiction. I guess that puts me somewhere on the Asexuality spectrum, most likely Demisexual. I want to use my teenage years to work towards building a secure career for myself so that I could eventually spoil and take care of someone who deserves it.
I don't have much preference for looks, despite the fact that I am attracted to femininity, not necessarily someone stereotypically girly, but fem. For me, I need someone who will be able to match my energy and challenge me with playful banter and deep, meaningful talks. Someone who has a strong and unapologetic personality, (I am a sucker for mean fems), but knows when to stop and take a step back.
[Thank you, even if this doesn't get attention, which I completely understand. I will love to see your future works and posts!]
HEYYY DARLING ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡ IM SO FLATTERED HIHI (*ˊᗜˋ*)
Anyways as for your matchup....hmhmhm...
Your match is....
.
.
.
KAFKA
OKAY OKAY let's be honest this was to be expected!
Scary looking girlfriend X equally as scary looking girlfriend (both can beat your ass)
I like the power couple dynamic here.
Plus I think she fits your type pretty well hmhm...
Kafka would be quite interested in your hobbies, she isn't very vocal about it but sometimes she just sits in the same room when you're doing something (drawing/playing guitar/writing etc...) and she'll just discreetly pay attention to it.
She also will kind of tease you about it, telling silverwolf and blade how good you are at your hobbies, and she'll intentionally do it in front of you
Chaining it to the one above-She likes showing you off, not only your hobbies...just you in general
She will also vibe with your attitude and find it amusing and definitely match it just as strong.
Also I think that kafka would also have equally trouble to completely warm up to you, yeah shes confident and flirty with people but I dont think she trusts people as easily, but when you guys spend more time together she would actually become quite fond of you
YAE MIKO
Honestly this is a pretty good pair, love it Picasso
I don't think miko is as outgoing and challenging as kafka, but she's there
It's just that miko is a bit more how do I put this ..dominant? Controlive? I know it sounds bad to put her up against kafka but I have a feeling miko is more on the serious dominant side while kafka is more playful, especially with their darling
Though yae miko is quite the person to talk to in moments of need, she's a good listener and gives good advice, she could simply talk&listen with you for hours on end
She, similar to kafka, would definitely match your vibe, just a bit more reserved type of sarcasm for example.
She's sly with it, just how fox's are eh?
Miko would take it slow to become closer to you, as she can guess you're having trouble fully trusting her, and she would definitely be less teasing at the beginning when you guys first met than when you're in an established relationship

Hi! Here's my feedback for the FS game.
First of all, sorry for the late feedback. Hehe. Also, thank you for the free reading <33 You know what's so funny? I didn't expect to get a 2nd generation idol as someone closest to my future spouse in terms of personality but I think a 2nd gen idol is exactly what I needed to see as comparison. Well, not necessarily just a second gen idol, but when I saw Taecyeon and his group, 2pm, I immediately understood why it was him.
So you were right, my spirit guides had a message for me with him. HAHAHAHA. Okay, this has been a constant in FS readings I had that my future spouse is someone who just exudes strong manly energy. I also kept being told they're some kind of leader and usually, people get intimidated by them right away. Just a little information, 2pm among 2nd gen fans is like the men's group. One look at this group and you would know what I'm talking about. They all have that distinguished manly charisma. Taecyeon is one of the most popular members not just for his looks and body, but also his goofy and kind personality. I'm not really a fan of the group, but I hear news about them before and tbh...Taecyeon makes sense.
I've also been told before that my FS might be someone who's not my usual type but I would still be so attracted to them and that as much as possible, they hope I don't judge my FS right away. This reading gave a clearer perception to me of how he's not going to be my usual type and why I shouldn't "judge" him right away. I usually tend to like the snobbish-looking nerds (who I'm physically attracted to of course) and guys that pursued me before tend to have an aggressive behavior towards me. I better understand how he's different from my type, but to some extent with similarities. I also appreciate that you mentioned that them being passionate would make me have more respect for them than find it invasive because more often than not, boys tend to see me as some sort of trophy they have to win.
To some extent, I also come off as intimidating and very protective of my energy and insensitive people see that as a challenge to win rather than respect me as a human being. Also, it was comforting to know him being protective as I feel like in my friendships, I'm always the one protecting people and I feel like I have to protect myself more on my own. Another thing, you got me when you mentioned my FS being both street-smart and book-smart. Girl, thank goodness! I NEED to be with someone who knows what they're doing in life, and can also teach me things I lack knowledge about.
That's all. This was a fun and lovely reading. Thanks once again 😊
Hii! Please don’t apologise, a late feedback is better than no feedback! I appreciate that you took the energy and time to reply!
Right! I didn’t immediately understand why you got Taecyeon, but as the reading went on I realised it! In my eyes he is a very manly guy, but not in an overbearing way. I actually like how well your guides know you, I think it’s endearing.
And of course! I know who 2PM are.. they are all very manly, I do think that’s why they were nicknamed ‘beats idols’ right?
Your future spouse seems really interesting, he is sort of like a paradox then right? The looks don’t match the personality. Although, a lot of people are like that. I am glad I could give you more insight on him, truly! And that sounds so exhausting to deal with.. No one should be treated as a thropy, you must have been so fed up with them.
Personally, I do not think you are intimidating because your energy is very friendly it’s just rather that you don’t put up with people’s bs and it’s obvious. I think people just send to misunderstand you.. Either way, I hope your spouse will match your energy and be the person you wish them to be! In a healthy way of course.
Thank you for leaving the feedback 🫶🏻

second tag meme and also from @ravenkinnie: book recs!
no time to spare / ursula le guin / i've been slowly trying to make my way through her essay collections and this is one i really love so far. i also read words are my matter but that one had some of her more questionable political stances so i enjoyed this one bc it was focused on more generic and personal topics
good intentions / kasim ali / i would honestly highly recommend this to south asians specifically bc i don't think i've seen any other book that holds south asian millennials accountable for their tendency to damn their parents to inflexibility from the outset and then fail to hold themselves accountable for never challenging traditional mindsets. this book specifically deals with anti-blackness within the south asian community and i think it does a fantastic job of it (please wait until the end bc it does end as it deserves to end but for a moment you will get worried towards the middle that it won't go that way lol. trust me)
the king of attolia / megan whalen turner / obv i would rec the queen's thief series in general but this is by and large my favorite of the whole series (well. bar the sixth book which closely ties with it) and much as i am sure everyone loved this series the most when it was from eugenides's perspective i cannot help but think that i never love eugenides more than when i read about him through the perspective of those who love him dearly
each little bird that sings / deborah wiles / this was a pretty formative book in my childhood esp wrt the concept of how children process death. it's actually part of a quartet of companion novels, each of which i love dearly and one of which is actually the inspiration for my current username, but i think this one is executed the best and it also happens to be the most well known installment, definitely for good reason
supreme inequality / adam cohen / i feel like if you're not necessarily into studying the law but want to gain a better, in-depth understanding of why we are where we are right now with american law this is a good book to read. it corrects a lot of misconceptions around the idea that the supreme court was ever consistently progressive (ie severe brevity and breakdown of the social welfare oriented burger era) and discusses the evolution of judicial interpretation of major topics over the course of the last several decades
the f team / rawah arja / this came as a rec in a melina marchetta newsletter and i'm so glad it did! it's a really fun and messy look into life as a lebanese-australian boy and what i think it does well is not shy away from culturally ingrained flaws, rather seek to dissect and understand them and highlight how crucial an emotionally mature and communication-dependent upbringing is for young muslim/arab boys. there are a few jokes here and there that caught the side eye from me bc they felt severely lacking in self-awareness but other than that i really enjoyed it
the piper's son / melina marchetta / my favorite marchetta novel forever and always, and the second installment in the inner west trilogy of companion novels, following saving francesca. what i really adore about this one is the interplay of grief between so many people and this guilt you have to overcome over the impact of the death of a loved one on your life. bc sometimes it utterly tears you apart and other times it brings you together and the emotions of that are so horribly complicated. i also simply adore the continued exploration of the main friend group and how as harsh as the girls are on tom they are so protective and dedicated, too, bc that's how they all are with each other. it's a book that constantly makes me ache
beloved / toni morrison / interestingly i find this book to be highly relevant considering the recent abortion fiasco in the american legal scene and its relation to abusive domestic situations but it's also one of the books i loved reading the most in undergrad particularly bc of its brutal exploration into how oppressed peoples are driven to self-inflicted violence as a last resort. can you blame a woman for killing her child when the only other option was damning that child to a life of slavery? it's a situation that has to be analyzed with so much empathy and compassion and that's exactly what morrison affords it
the secret garden / frances hodgson burnett / one of two other books i loved reading the most in undergrad (with the third one being north and south). i read this for a british literature class that i took at a time i was severely starting to doubt my degree again after having already gone through a really rough depressive period following jonghyun's death so it really opportunely entered my life. i remember reading the magic monologue towards the end and just crying and crying bc it felt so liberating and while the rest of my undergrad journey was not necessarily a total high i do think this helped comfort me a lot

Hey y'all! So my next story is pretty heavy and despite the main character's name, it's fiction. That being said, it's an emotional first part for me--I'm not sure if that will carry through to the reader because I'm not a good writer, but it was very emotional for me to write. I've read and edited it several times and can't seem to get through it without crying. Again, I don't expect it to necessarily resonate as much with the reader.
Trigger Warning: This part deals with thoughts/stories of suicide.
Dylan’s bedroom was painted dark green and filled with plants and candles. The walls were lined with records and band posters. His nightstand was littered with prescription bottles—for his depression and anxiety. He was a very attractive, fit but thin boy, who was well-liked by all. But he saw the world differently and he very rarely liked what he saw. His shaggy dark brown hair often hid his almost black eyes and long dark eyelashes, much to his mother’s chagrin. His best friend Jack had just run up to his bedroom, which was over the family garage. It was raining heavily and thunder rumbled the earth as Dylan opened the door.
“Do you ever think about killing yourself?”
Dylan sat on the bed in his messy room, looking up at his friend as he stood there confused.
“What…? No.” Jack replied concerned.
Dylan looked down.
“Do you?” He asked.
“Yeah. I mean not realistically or anything but yeah, I do.”
Jack stared at him. “What the fuck man? You can’t just say shit like that.”
“Yeah, well actually I can say it and people should say it. It’s just a lot of things I guess.” Dylan continued to look at the ground.
“What kind of things?”
“I don’t know. I mean, I feel things more than others. You know that.”
Jack stared at him.
“It feels like nobody really cares.”
“Dude, what are you talking about? You have tons of people who care about you. Everyone at school loves you and you’re my favorite person on the planet.”
“Yeah. I’m not even talking about me necessarily, just in general. People pretend to care. People are always fucking pretending. They see some sad story about an abused puppy on Twitter, tear up, wonder how somebody could do that, and then scroll on. Move on with their day. They never think about it again. Then they like some post that makes fun of someone else because they are different from them. Or some issue they don’t understand. People are liars and they’re cruel.”
“What does that have to do with anything, Dylan? What does that have to do with you? There have always been assholes in the world and there always will be. It sucks, but it’s how it is.”
“Yeah. I guess maybe I wonder if I want to live in a world like that then, ya know? You remember Becky, from school? She killed herself because people made fun of her weight.”
“I know. It wasn’t that long ago.”
“Just every day, non-stop, people would crack jokes about her. People would put her down, over and over and then she goes and hangs herself alone in her room and of course, the town is shocked but I wasn’t.”
Dylan started crying uncontrollably with his voice trembling but continued, “Then the whole fucking town has a fake ass memorial, and teachers talk about the severity of bullying and then a month later nobody gives a fuck about Becky. I didn’t go to that memorial. We weren’t really friends but we had some nice talks. I couldn’t go to that memorial because I knew half of the fucking kids there, holding candles, and praying, were the same ones who called her names. They were the same ones who hurt her, over and over and over. They made her life a living hell. And for what? Tell me, for WHAT?”
“I don’t know.”
“Those kids are gonna continue on, graduate, go to college, get married, and have kids, all while Becky is rotting six feet under. She’s a rotting corpse. Nothing happens to them. Absolutely no consequences. And it’s not just Becky--that’s the thing. It happens every day, all over this goddamn world; good people, kind people, creative people, smart people, and funny people, who are a little bit different or don’t fit some narrative get bullied and harassed. Not all of them commit suicide, but I know it still fucking hurts.”
“Man, I don’t know what to say to you.” Jack wiped away tears.
“You don’t have to say anything.” Wiping tears away, eyelashes dripping.
“You are a deeply loving person and that’s a good thing. It’s a great thing. You care about other people even if it doesn’t affect you and that’s so rare, Dylan.”
“Yeah.”
“Yeah, and the world needs people like you.” Jack put his hand on his friend’s shoulder. “The world needs heroes and loving people like you to save us from the bullies; the monsters.”
“No, they don’t. Nobody listens.”
