As someone who is not technically savvy and who uses Linux because fuck Windows, I have a hot take that some programmers might not like: under no circumstances should the end-user of a program have to interact with the eldritch monstrosity that is github!

It's overwhelming, makes no sense, and absolutely should not be necessary for me to use your thing.

The next time I go to try and ask for tech support from the revanced team, someone PLEASE just slap me so I don't do it.

#I don't know if I've ever encountered a meaner dev team for a thing I actually use #Revanced no longer works properly when patched on my phone. Made a reddit post describing such and asked what I should do #and the post got deleted #I posted it because I looked around in the sub and nobody else had posted anything about it recently #Turns out they're deleting ALL posts about this issue with no explanation or warning #Because an image they posted vaguely says 'post a bug report at this link if you're having issues with this patch'#But I didn't realize until after the drama of them nuking my post that that patch was even causing the issue #And I'm also not even welcome in their github because I requested a patch for tumblr and it pissed them off #So I can't do a bug report because I annoy them and they'll delete it #genuinely told the main dev to just ban me from the reddit if there's some kind of issue with me being there #I don't understand why they keep working on this project if people askkng for help pisses them off this bad #I wish there was an alternative. Clearly whatever flavor of what's wrong with me is infuriating to them #I did get it working btw #I had to disable the 'spoof video streams' patch in the revanced settings in the youtube app #But that means my videos could stop playing randomly (not far off from what was happening before; the videos were mostly buffering forever)#I just have to wait until a person who they don't hate comes along and reports it in a way that pleases them so it can get fixed #I won't be participating in debugging since me talking is an issue to them #Revanced #Vent

You know a website is extremely functional when a browser extension can bypass the rate limits.

Anyway, for people who still like to use twitter, here’s a browser extension to bypass twitter’s rate limits.

That’s the link to the chrome extension, but you can find the other browser extensions pretty easily by going to the creator’s github.

Please remember to donate if you like their work. Their up to date donation info is in their Github.

The open source internet only stays open for as long as developers can dedicate their energy to it. Money stuff sucks, but even $1 is going to say “thank you” more times than a thousand demands for them to fix everything right now (which they 100% are getting).

Love when i stress about homework and then it takes a fraction of the time/pain that I expected (i'd rather not have stressed about it so much but it's better than being right about it)

#rambles #i have to write reports for my gamedev class. a progress report and an evaluation of each of my teammates #i just finished the progress report in like 45 minutes during another class rn #i still have to do the evaluation which i fucking HATE because we all work individually #i can see the github history but it's difficult to get a good sense of how much work was put into each update #and i gotta remember things like #'was this person late to one meeting or half the meetings or was it just the meetings in the last report period and it was fine this time'#etc.#ugh #i have an A- because I didn't realize I've been doing the reports wrong (I didn't look at feedback on previous reports bc i don't get #notified when grades are posted)#'you need to provide more detail on the teammate evaluations' BITCH I DON'T REMEMBER!!! I CAN'T GIVE YOU DETAILS I DON'T REMEMBER #and i'm not giving details i'm not certain about or that i think would misrepresent the person!#i don't trust my memory enough to not be biased both in favor of and against different people.

Youtube updated youtube music and fucked it up, may have to switch to revanced spotify... Augh

#they made it so you can't swipe down and dismiss a song just like in spotify #that was literally the main reason I stuck with yt music #then again there are other things on yt music I can't find on spotify #hmm #I'd request a patch to return that behavior in the revanced github but they hate me 🙃

If you have any gifs of your own up on gfycat, here's a handy way to bulk download them all, I used it to download my own 400~ gifs off the site. <Github Link Here> You'll just need your login, and at the very bottom of the github is a descriptor on how to get your Auth Key from gfycat, it's a bit of a chore but it's well worth it!

take some time this week to archive online content you care about, it could disappear or get harder to find at any point! youtube channels, blogs, images, personal chat logs, you name it

By cracked I meant a pirated version of Spotify. you can get many cracked apps and install them on your phone (most of the apps on my phone are cracked). If you don't want to pay for a specific app or if you want to enjoy premium features, there's a possibility that you'll find it cracked on the Internet (except for multiplayer/online games and apps like netflix)

the cracked spotify has all the extra features except for downloading music. i can send you a link to the version i'm currently using, although i don't know anything about installing such apps on iphones, sorry!

#some websites are kinda shady so wouldn't reccomend downloading anything from them tho #so the best and safest way is to use xmanager (you can download it from github)#using spicetify on desktop is great too because i hate ads lol #asked #kree <3
