Ah yes, there is nothing more beautiful than watching the Crunchyroll Awards when I am in a masochistic mood and still come out crying. I’m not even a seasonal watcher but even I could predict all of the winners when I checked out the nominations. I didn’t vote by the way since I don’t even use Crunchyroll. Since me and my friend already complained about it, I’ll rant a bit too so please take my salt.
I don’t think that Jujutsu Kaisen should have won Anime of the Year for the simple reason that apparently the Shibuya Arc didn’t even count for this nomination since it aired in Autumn. That means that pretty much only the first 5-6 episodes were a contender for this nomination and that isn’t even half of the show. They should have either completely excluded it from the nominations this year and instead nominated it next year or should have put in all of Jujutsu Kaisen. Instead now the season was split in parts and I will bet my liver that the Shibuya Arc will be nominated next year again. 5 episodes of an incomplete season are not better than other nominated Anime like Vinland Saga or Oshi No Ko. I’m not even sure if I would put Demon Slayer as a nomination since I liked this season but it just did not reach for me the same level that previous seasons had reached and I am sure that there were other Anime that were a lot more deserving of a nomination instead of Kny.
Best Continuing Series I already suspected either One Piece or Jujutsu Kaisen to win. I can’t say much about One Piece since I am currently at the Water 7 Arc but I will take it over freaking Jjk with its 5 nominated episodes. Once again I would be hesitant to put Demon Slayer in here since for me best continuing series implies that the newest season is either on the same par or even surpasses the previous season. Demon Slayer did not do this with the Sword Smith Village Arc for me for a couple of reasons. The antagonists felt very shallow and boring, the fights weren’t as good for me and whilst the last episode was quite good, it did not reach for me what the Entertainment District Arc did. Bungo Stray Dogs would have been in my opinion a better nomination than Demon Slayer.
Not surprised with Chainsaw Man winning Best New series but since I haven’t watched any of the shows nominated, I can’t say much about it. Same goes for Best Movie with Suzume as the winner and Best Original Series with Buddy Daddies as the winner.
Is anyone surprised by Demon Slayer winning Best Animation? I’m not and that was the only thing that for me was as good as previous seasons, although I do know the whole argument of them using 3D this season for some of the demons but honestly, that was nowhere near the worst CGI that Anime has given us such as Berserk 2017. I see why people would be upset since other contestants for Best Animation were shows like Mob Psycho 100. With Jujutsu Kaisen as a nominee I am conflicted due to the whole arguments of this season having the worst Animation in comparison to the first season and the movie but the poor Mappa employees were on such a tight schedule and the fact that they still delivered such amazing fight scenes despite the terrible treatment deserves respect. Also, where is Bleach in this nomination?! You cannot tell me that they couldn’t nominate it since Disney owns it considering that there were actually some categories where Bleach was still nominated for some reason!
Best Character Design went to Jujutsu Kaisen… How??? How did school uniforms win against the character designs of Hell’s Paradise, Oshi No Ko and Demon Slayer? Is it just Gojo that carried this category?? Am I the blind one for not loving him as much as other fans do??
Best Direction went to Jujutsu Kaisen.
Best Camera Work went to Jujutsu Kaisen.
Best Art Direction went to Demon Slayer.
Best romance was won by Horimiya: The missing Pieces. I’m not sure if that’s true but isn’t this series basically some sort of flashback where the characters look back on their school time. I’m pretty sure My Happy Marriage, Insomniacs after School or Skip and Loafer can beat what, if my memory is correct, is basically a series that shows all the scenes they couldn’t feature in the first season.
Best Comedy was won by Spy x Family and my friend was quite upset by that since she is a big Bocchi The Rock fan but I haven’t watched any of those shows.
Best Action was won by Jujutsu Kaisen. Considering that only the first arc of the series was nominated, I do not agree with this win. If Shibuya Arc would have also counted, I wouldn’t have complained but as it stands I would have preferred something like One Piece or Bleach to win this award.
Best Fantasy was won by Demon Slayer… Again. Guys, what is this? I love Demon Slayer but you can’t tell me that a show playing in a real historical period of Japan with the only fantasy element being the demons as well as maybe the Breathing Forms is a better fantasy show than Mushoku Tensei or The Ancient Magus’s Bride.
Best Drama was won by Attack on Titan The Final Season Chapter 1. What does that mean? Will the second chapter be nominated again then next year?! Oh, come on. How did an incomplete season win Best Drama against Mister I have no enemies?! Vinland Saga should have won that category.
Best Slice of Life went to Bocchi the Rock and since my friend was happy, I was happy too.
Best Main character was won by Luffy. I guess I can live with that. I’m actually surprised that they didn’t nominate Gojo in here but since the whole award show was basically sucking Jujutsu Kaisen off, I am happy to have a few categories where I am not haunted by Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen. I am just more biased towards Thorfinn in this category since his character development was amazing. If they really only counted the First Chapter of Attack on Titan in these Awards, I am not sure about putting Eren as a contender in this category since he had barely any screen time.
How are you going to take Jujutsu Kaisen’s Hidden Inventory Arc for the 2024 Crunchyroll Awards and then nominate Gojo as a side character?!?! He was the bloody main character in that arc since it was his past!! And then Gojo also wins this category where he absolutely doesn’t belong!!! The same counts for Suguru!! How can you nominate two guys from Jujutsu Kaisen who were on top of that main characters in this short arc?! Why not nominate someone from another Anime instead?! What about Bungo Stray Dogs?! What about Hell’s Paradise?! What about literally every other Anime that aired this year with an actual side character?! Why did Gojo win?!
I don’t care about the Must Protect At all Costs award going to Anya Forger. It’s just a weird award in my opinion.
Best Anime Song going to Idol from Yoasobi was no surprise and was deserved for the sheer impact it had not only on the Anime community but also the international success it earned.
Best Soundtrack going to Attack on Titan is no surprise. Hiroyuki Sawano, if you worked there again I will accept it.
Best Opening and Ending go to no one’s surprise to Jujutsu Kaisen and at this point I have no energy left anymore to be angry. Congratulations…not.
Best Japanese VA performance goes to Yuichi Nakamura for voicing Gojo Satoru… Why is Eren here again? That dude barely spoke any lines in the first half of the Final Chapters. There are a ton of other Japanese Va’s that not only spoke more than Eren but were also far better. Whilst I am not really suited for picking any since I don’t watch seasonal Anime, I think Uemura Yuuto for his performance as Thorfinn or Miyano Mamoru in his role as Dazai were far more deserving of a spot in here. Yuki Kaji, I really love you but you shouldn’t have been nominated in here for your performance as Eren in here due to the lack of a performance.

hihi!! i thought this was funny and wanted to tell you😭
i was telling my friend about Goo and how i would absolutely marry him and they said that he needs their blessing. i asked what he can do to get their blessing and they said he needed to write them an essay about how much he loves me so, to entertain them, i wrote them an essay from Goo's perspective about why he wants to marry me with a 20 minute timer. it was 584 words in the end and I worked a miracle.
Moral of the story: Goo got the blessing😭so uhhh you can always write your way into someones life??
This tickled me, just imagining the unhinged ramblings from Goo POV mixed with your own. Drop it please.
Inbox clearing time! Non fic requests answered: 6. (Check it - plus my fave Lookism arcs!)
To the non-anon anon that I have not included and I don't know what to do with your message - No, I won't hold your hand while you poop. Good luck with that.
Tumblr media
Really?? I feel so... unhinged and nonsensical (even more so than usual) when I rant. Seriously thank you for reading!?!!?
PTJ did somewhat write women with more of a personality in his Life As A Loser Series so it seems more of a shame that he's lost his touch and catering much more towards teenage boys with his current series.
Which. Fine. Action manhwa - great. BUT if your target audience are teenage boys then yknow, wouldn't it be even BETTER to write some strong badass women so these impressionable youngsters realise that not all girls need saving, and oh look. Girls are human too. With their own ambitions and flaws and imperfections, just like everyone else.
If you must make them simp, form a harem. Also. FINE. At least give them something beyond that.
Tumblr media
Hey Black Anon! Sorry again for how long it took me to respond to your ask before, and hope it's going much better for yourself since your last request.
I'm muuuuch more responsive with DMs so if you ever wanna come out of anon - come shout at me in my DMs!!
HTF s2 is really... something. Completely lost the meaning of HTF and Viral Hit. Don't blame you for dropping it. Alas, the Taehoon grip on me is still going STRONG.
LOL. Me in a similar position, wondering if I should get into JJK.
Can I... recommend some of my fave arcs if you ever do decide to read Lookism? The ones I like are generally more story driven.
Vasco's backstory (prepare the tissues) - 52 - 57
Johan + Zack + Mira backstory (cult warning, another sad arc) - 132 - 138
Goddog (another pretty sad arc with Johan) - 199 - 213
Jacedichi Files (silly crime solving with Burn Knuckles) - 215 - 218
One Night (Johan + Jace!! Fun action) - 258 - 262
Jake Kim (PLEASE READ THIS IF NOTHING ELSE) - 302 - 318
Workers (2A) (Rescuing Sinu. Honestly, I cry almost every time. Read Jake Kim's arc to appreciate this!) - 372 - 392
Let me know if you ever get into it!!!
Tumblr media
Me??? Mine????? I cannot write that guy so thank you - that means A LOT to me! I will try harder to write a decent Eli (that doesn't devolve into ranting about his current direction).
Thank you for reading and being so friggin CUTE!! 💖
Tumblr media
I feel a vaguely threatening tone from this.
Like something Goo would recite before walking into a darkened warehouse with a crowbar 🤔
Tumblr media
Baby there's nothing noble about this, but it is actually more satisfying than my normal job lol (lolling through tears).
Thank you so much for reading!! My single braincell has been firing quite well with these ideas.
Anon. Honestly this is adorable, I've screenshat this for a pick me up ahhhhhhh 🥹
Tumblr media
My dear 🕊️ anon, thank you for reading my DG fic! I also feel very little for DG but I will admit I am coming around to him.
YES!!! I LOVE the idea of someone getting close to James Lee in his younger years, and him being soft for the reader.
And then I also like angst so let's bring those 2 things together. Heh.
Eeeee I also added that Remember fic to my list of faves that I have written.
Please. I also have a list of fictional men I am unwell over. Let's start a support group! 🫠

I dont know if its just me but i hate seeing people age minors up to write nsfw stuff about them. Like if u do this your weird and stay away 🔥🔥🔥 —-🐉 anon… (again😭💔)
YES
(this became a long rant, so you can read that under the cut)
For me, I HATE when it's the MHA fandom. When it is the students, it is very uncomfortable for me to see that kinda stuff ESPECIALLY when the account is like a 26 year old or something, it's hella uncomfy
For JJK, one of my first requests was to age up Megumi to have him be a father and reluctantly, I did it. I would probably never do it again honestly because again, he's like my little dude. Like when I see people writing for Yuji I'm like WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! We have nanami and gojo and you chose the 15 year old?!?!?!
Now for the kinda other side here. When it comes to Jojo, we all love Jotaro, but he ages up in the show, so you can talk about 17-40 year old jotaro, so that's when it's okay. You can do that with any character in jojo because of the timeline and we actually see them age
so in that case... can't we just do that with other stuff?
now here's the answer
no. we cant
you are showing that you are attracted to the really young version and wanting to age them up. Seeing a 26 year old with a bio that says "in love with bakugo" please stop omfg
NOW HEAR ME OUT
Spiderpunk (aka Hobie Brown) from Across the Spiderverse hasn't had a confirmed age, but goddamn is he fine af. But in that case, what do people do? I have seen people say his age is up for interpretation and that he can't be like 15 because look at him???? So in this case, sometimes that can be okay if that makes sense
And again, I love Haikyuu and it actually reveals what they do in the future, so I think it's alright to age them up
I think for me it's fandom based. If you want to give me some examples that you wanna call out, please let me know because I would love to chat about this more
Also, another thing I'm not super into is x child!reader. I used to get those requests A LOT and my account was for romance based fics mostly. A lot of the requests I were getting were 13 or younger children asking to be platonically with characters from MHA, which wasn't a huge problem, I just would rather not write it. But when it really got me was when someone asked for a child!reader with characters from HAZBIN HOTEL AND HELLUVA BOSS?!?! Literally no. That is not for children. I dont care if they have access to it, they should not be in my inbox asking for that. I stopped writing for the fandom completely and a lot of those people left. But x child!reader should be for them if they're on this app. I don't like writing it at all and only did it for a short period because I felt like I had to. I was too scared to change my rules at the time until I finally did and then people actually respected them. But it was weird to hear kids wanting to "be with Aizawa" as a more dad character, but that's just for me
Sorry for turning this a whole other direction, but those are some other things that I just wanted to add since we were in this convo
Thanks for sending this as always and feel free to share more of what you think on the topic because you have honestly given me the courage I need to say no to a lot of things more lol

Gojo isn't dead.
in his fight with Toji, he said that the only reason To didn't kill him was because he didn't cut off his head.
His head is still intact.
We know he can regrow limbs too-
So I don't think this is the end.
I'm going to answer under the cut because it might get a bit long.
Yeah, we know he can regrow limbs, but taking into account that Gege hates him, I highly doubt he'll come back from this. I've seen a lot of people saying that this whole "going North or going South" that Nanami mentions might hint that Gojo is coming back because he said goodbye to his dead friends and didn't choose a direction but-
I don't know. It's Gege we're talking about.
However, I'm glad you feel confident. Truly. I do think the Toji thing is a very good point, but at this point with all the bs Gege has been pulling out basically since The Culling Games... I guess I'm saying I don't trust him because plot-wise, we have nothing. And it shows.
Gege got Gojo out of the box when they did because they feared (more) people would stop reading JJK. It wasn't because it was right for the plot, because they planned it like that, or even because the timing was right. Gege got him out of the box because people were done with the series, and The Culling Games were literally getting nowhere.
The funny thing about this is how you create such an overpowered character knowing that he will be very difficult to remove, and then you hate him. You despise him. As if it hadn't been you that created him in the first place. And I am mentioning this because it is very clear with this shitshow of a fight that Gege was pulling things out of their ass to see how he could actually manage to kill Gojo off. But they couldn't. That's why we had this whole "oh he might die this chapter" and then "nah, he's fine". In Spanish we call it "tira y encoge" , or pull and shrink, and it basically means that nothing is really happening because it's just a tug rope game.
Moreover, Gege planned something different for JJK during The Culling Games, it fell through because after three years everyone was getting impatient for Gojo's return and whatever they'd do to get him out, and it is clear that the plot has fell through ever since. Gojo's death against Sukuna just shows that. If Gege were thinking, truly thinking about the plot and whatever story they supposedly want to tell, they would have allowed Gojo this small victory against Sukuna to let him fail against Kenjaku---it would still allow the kids to show what they can do, and Gojo would still have died like Gege wanted to. It would have made more sense and it would have given everyone a false sense of security, while also giving Gojo the "chance" to try and recover Geto's body.
Did Gege want him to have the same death anniversary as Geto? Maybe. Do I care? Not really.
Sorry for the long rant. I'm a pessimist by nature and between Shibuya getting animated, Gege's bs, and reliving Nanami's death through Gojo... I had a lot of thoughts. Hopefully, you'll be right and Gojo will actually come back to kick Sukuna's ass.

“I am sharing my opinion on my account” if your opinion is just bringing down another artist you can shove that opinion up your own asshole because no one wants it. People and artists are doing this for FREE for the fandom, they can make whatever they want, so unless you are supporting artists and content creators may be just think about shutting the fuck up
sorry, this is pretty late due but uh.
firstly, i deleted the post and apologized for making a fuss.
secondly, i didn't "bring down" anyone. it was an opinion for one (1) work and i never asked if anyone "wants my opinion" bc i NEVER mentioned what it was or who it was exactly. i never tagged nor jumped into their work thread to express my opinion either. it shouldn't have anything to do with them making works, that's not my rights. it was the "general idea" of that work that i disagreed with, and it's not the first fanwork i see that goes in such direction, that's all the rant was about. but i agree it shouldn't be made public.
there's context to that though.
opinions for works happen. even i'm aware there are ppl who hate my works (and they're free to have opinions on that too). but NEVER did i say anything personally about the artist. i still appreciate their other works, it's absolutely cool they still make works for the fandom, and they should be supported as a content creator. but that specific work has a counter-argument to the official manga that roused discourses and was released during sensitive time. the reason for that was not limited to the work, but that artist's previous opinions regarding the manga's canon events that they posted in public on their local platform/socmed, which was now deleted, and which i will not elaborate even though i've seen it with all its negativity. that statement was reflected on the work, and as a result it did affect my opinions for that work and i ranted out with frustration, and i apologize for that.
so yes, there's more context to that "opinion" thread of mine, but i won't discuss it anymore. my "opinions" should never matter in the first place. anw, please block me if you are against the disagreement to that general idea presented in the work (not the work itself) and don't want to see it.
p.s. i do buy from artists and content creators if you're curious about that. Half of the stuffs i buy for Jjk are fanmade goods, and there's a LOT.

I love jjk but the thing is, Gege wants to have his cake and eat it, too. Let me explain. Gege sai he took a lot of inspiration from Hunter Hunter and in that, there is no character that is definitively the strongest. There is no character that could always win, because nen abilities are all about how you use them. Anyone could win against someone they are technically less powerful against with intelligence and strategy. And, I think Gege wanted to go in this direction, especially in the culling game, where he introduced a bunch of Characters who have very unique abilities that aren't simply about power. But then, he designs characters like Gojo and Sukuna who are undoubtedly the strongest regardless of strategy or intelligence. Like, there really is no character in jjk that wins solely because of intelligence and strategy (and wouldn't have won without that). So, when Gojo loses to Sukuna, that is the strongest character around just losing to another strong character who has his own abilities and Megumi's abilities. And I feel like it's going to be very hard for Gege to believably pull off the team killing Sukuna (and/or saving Megumi) because of how he has designed cursed abilities in JJK.
And this is not even to get into the similarities between culling game and HxH dark continent arc, and why one seems to have worked way better than the other.
Sorry for the late response, Friend! I've been pretty absent on social media/this hellsite for the last week or so.
I've never read HxH, so I can't speak to the similarities between the two, but I definitely agree with everything you said here. More rambling to be found below the cut!
I feel very strongly about this topic lmao so forgive my ranting.
But real talk, you said everything that needed to be said. I like the idea of a battle manga focusing on strategy/intelligence instead of straight up strength and I would normally love that for JJK... But only if Gege had actually foreshadowed that type of story sooner lmao.
There is definitely some strategy and intelligence used in fights, primarily in the culling games like you pointed out. But yeah. For the most part, the narrative has focused entirely on straight up strength and power. I mean, isn't that the whole problem with Sukuna right now? He's just too damn strong.
Also, in the event that Yuji/Higuruma/Yuta end up coming up with some bold strategy that leads to Sukuna's downfall, I'm going to laugh my ass off. Because seriously, why would that even make sense? Does Gege actually expect me to believe that (1) a teenager who has been a sorcerer for less than a year and who doesn't have any cursed energy, (2) a lawyer who was made a sorcerer like 10 seconds ago, and (3) another teenager who has been a sorcerer for only two years can actually come up with a better battle strategy than Gojo fucking Satoru?? Gojo's what? 29 when he dies? I just refuse to believe that a couple of 16-17 year olds and a dude who was a civilian until a few weeks ago have better battle tactics than the literal fucking strongest sorcerer. I need Gege to be so for real.
So yeah! The chance of Gege killing Sukuna in a satisfying way seems incredibly unlikely. If he wanted Sukuna to be taken down with intelligence and strategy then he shouldn't have bothered creating Gojo.
I'd imagine that Gege was going for "here's the strongest and then the Big Bad Guy will kill the strongest and all hope will be lost and our protagonist will have to find a way to overcome the Big Bad Guy!" But like... He's fucked around too much to do that. He made Gojo too powerful, he made Sukuna even more powerful, and now all of the sudden, there's no one left. Suddenly, we need to rely on an ass pull to expect a win from the team when ass pulls were pretty rare in JJK.
JJK isn't Naruto (lmao sorry Naruto stans ily) where a 12 year old kid is beating legendary ninjas with straight up talk-no-jutsu. I think that JJK has always been pretty good about keeping battle outcomes believable. But right now? The only way the kids win against Sukuna is with an ass pull. (At least, that's how I see it.) And that's such a waste of potential.
TLDR: I refuse to believe that some teenagers and a lawyer have better battle strategy than Gojo Satoru and I have very little faith in Gege's ability to kill Sukuna in a satisfying way.
I'm officially Team Sukuna killing everyone and everything because that's the only way I can see JJK ending in a way that makes sense.

Cheer || jjk.
Pairing: Jungkook x reader Genre: fluff, cheerleader!yn x athlete!jk (requested by anon) Warning(s): minor swearing, alcohol, drinking games mentioned, college after game parties, reader is a cheer athlete, jungkook plays rugby, stress from expectations WC: ~9.9k (this is the longest I've ever written I hope it doesn't flop!!) Summary: You felt that your cheer team was under-appreciated by certain people — specifically the rugby team that your cheer team supports during their matches. How is it that their star player, Jeon Jungkook, manages to find his way into your life despite having a bad impression of the rugby players? Update (6/8): Made an edit
Tumblr media
You always loved being in a team. That would explain why you were where you were. Standing on the mat in the indoor gym with your cheer team on a Friday night. Cheer was beyond exhausting, but you still loved doing it, especially with the team that you got in college. Your coach - a perfectionist - always drilled you guys over the minute details. That would also explain why you were still practicing for something so ‘trivial’ - your opinion, not your coach’s.
Your team was practicing the routine for the rugby team’s qualifying match on Monday. It was a simple routine - as always. Your team didn’t do championship level routines during such events, you were all just there as moral support and being the hype people for the team. All you had to do was cheer with your pom poms, throw in a couple of stunts and the crowd would go wild.
But every event was a chance to get better, to get closer to perfect, according to your coach. And you did not disagree. You just never looked forward to cheering for the rugby team even after all the events. Despite your team always cheering for the football club, you could say you disliked most of them. It always felt as though they didn’t appreciate the moral support and took you guys for granted.
“Might want to look happy, yn.” You heard a playful remark from behind. Jimin, your most trusted base.
“I’ll keep that in mind. Just don’t drop me.”
There was no way you could pull off your stunts if you didn’t have trust in your teammates. And you could say you trusted Jimin with your life - literally. Accidents and mistakes were bound to happen but there was no doubt that you’d be down to try for anything if Jimin was your base.
Not only was Jimin a trustworthy base, but he was also an amazing stunter. His physique was perfect to be an in between, he could pull off both roles. That almost guaranteed him a spot on the mat every time. He was extremely hardworking as well and you’ll always be proud of your best friend making mat. Of course, you wanted to make mat just as badly as the next person.
Last season, you did not make mat and it crushed you. Jimin was there to get you out of your rut and encouraged you to bounce back stronger. Thanks to him, you managed to pick yourself up and train harder for the upcoming nationals. You had never been more determined to make mat.
“Point your toes, I want my flyers looking really perfect.” Your coach yelled over the music. Your coach was a beast, but an effective one, nonetheless. Your team won nationals last season and ready to bag this season as well.
“Alright, that’s all for today. Clean the place up and you guys can go home. Thanks everybody!” Your coach clapped their hands and the team followed suit as everyone got up from the mat and started tidying the place.
“Need a lift?”
“Yes please, you’re the best!” You pulled Jimin in for a tight hug, “Okay, you do this then!” Jimin handed you the empty bottles that he picked up from the ground as he headed off the change first.
You grumbled but took his place in defeat.
Big smiles were plastered on your faces as you congratulated the winning team - your college. You best friend nudged you while you waved the team goodbye as they passed by. “Coming to the after party?”
“Wouldn’t miss the free drinks and snacks.”
Jimin snorted, “Obviously.”
Though you did say that it felt like the cheer team was under appreciated, you were always invited to the after parties. Most of you went, mainly for the free drinks and snacks.
You flashed two thumbs up with Jimin as Yoongi passed by. A small smile on his face as he slightly bowed his heads in your direction, acknowledging your cheers.
Through all the after parties, you have been acquainted with one of their star players - Min Yoongi. He was one of the few who hung out in the kitchen to avoid all the party games and the crowd in the general. He disliked the unnecessary glamour and attention that came along with joining the rugby club. You admired his passion for rugby and along with Jimin, the three of you became the trio who hid away from the crowd during the parties.
After the debrief with our coach, your team dispersed to your own places to freshen up for the after party. It was a Friday night, and a good night of drinking was warranted after a tiring week.
You were all lucky your coach was not strict regarding such parties, as long as everyone turned up ready for the following practice.
“Glad to see faces I actually like.” Yoongi commented, handing you two drinks he had already prepared. “You make it sound like you hate everyone on your team.”
“I would say a good majority. I’m actually jealous that your cheer team is so close knit.”
Jimin nudged you after you downed your shot, “Without trust, our stunts won’t fly.”
You nodded your head in agreement, “Probably should get my team to watch your practices to learn a thing about team spirit.” Yoongi scoffed, mostly to himself, knowing that realistically, it would never happen.
The three of you turned your attention to the living room, watching Yoongi’s teammates either play beer pong or trying to find their fling for the night.
“They’re skilled, no doubt. But most of them are here for the popularity. It’s rare to find someone who genuinely likes football too.” Yoongi ranted as you poured himself another shot.
“Is there not a single soul?” Jimin asked, feeling a tinge of pity for his friend who was not experiencing the same level of love for his team as Jimin did for the cheer team.
Yoongi’s eyes scanned across the room, slowly shaking his head before his eyes landed on someone. “Actually, there is— Jungkook!” He raised his hand, shouting over the loud music as he tried to get someone’s attention.
You turned your head to see Jungkook approaching your group. “Jungkook? Really?” You questioned Yoongi. Jungkook was one of the star players as well. It was impossible not to know Jungkook. You could walk down any corridor in campus, and you would hear someone mention his name at least once.
“Hey,” Jungkook greeted Yoongi before his eyes shifted to yours and Jimin’s. “What’s going on?”
Yoongi shrugged his shoulders, “Just wanted to introduce you to some of the members from cheer.”
“From cheer, huh?” The corner of his lips tugged upwards as his eyes went back to you.
“I figured you won’t recognise us, even though we’ve been at your parties since, well… Basically here every party.” You didn’t mean to sound so harsh, but it just came out from you. You heard Jimin chuckle from beside you as he draped his arms over you.
“Sorry bud, yn here doesn’t have a good impression of you guys.”
“It’s not like you have a better one.” You bit back at Jimin who just stuck out his tongue at you. “That is true,” He pulled away as he took a drink, “We were actually just bitching about you guys with Yoongi.”
Jungkook’s eyes widened in bewilderment, yet he felt amused enough to stay and find out more. “Is that so, Yoongi?”
His teammate nodded his head nonchalantly, “Just sharing the truth. About how most of them are here to be popular. I called you because I know you’re one of the few who actually joined for rugby.”
Jungkook huffed out an amused hum, “Interesting. What are your names again?”
“Yn and Jimin.” Jimin instantly replied, knowing you were probably going to reply with a snarky comment. “Part of the cheer team, like Yoongi said. She’s mainly a flyer and I’m a base and tumbler.”
You watched as his eyes furrowed in confusion, “S-Sorry I don’t know cheer terms.”
“Not surprised.” You let the words slip as you took a sip from your cup. Jungkook’s eyes looked at you, a hint of challenge and interest on his expression.
“If you have something against me, let’s hear it.”
“Don’t take it personally, Jungkook.” You reached out to give a light pat on his right chest. “I had a bad impression on Yoongi as well.”
With that, Yoongi sighed, nodding his head in the back. “It’s a miracle she likes me now.”
“Well, why don’t you give me a chance to change that impression then?” The left corner of his lip rose a playful look on his face as he challenged you.
It could be the alcohol or could be the loud music that made you disoriented. Nonetheless, you reached out your hand for a handshake, “You’ve got one chance.”
Jimin and Yoongi left the kitchen to enjoy their own time together. You had an inkling that something was stirring between them, but you decided to let them be as you were left alone with Jungkook in the kitchen.
“So, yn,” Jungkook shifted in the high stool, leaning on his right elbow, his attention focused on you. “Care to explain why you seem to hate my team so badly?”
“Buckle your seatbelts, Jeon.” You teased as you reached out for your drink. You watched his attention eyes fixated on yours as he waited for your answer. “I dislike your team because it feels we don’t get the appreciation I feel we rightfully deserve. We’re always there for your plays, even for your friendlies. The support just feels one sided and to me it sucks when we put in a lot for our routines as well.”
You watched him slowly nod his head in understanding, his body leaning backwards as he internalised your words. “I have to admit. I never really paused to think about your cheer team. I mean your outfits and pom poms are cute and all— “
Pointing your finger at him, you interrupted, “Exactly, we’re not just cute outfits and pom poms. We only use the cheesy pom poms for your matches to make the crowd all hyped up. Do you even know we have our own competition as well?”
Jungkook shrugged his shoulders, “Of course I do. Just never watched one.”
You let out a short, dry laugh, “It’s okay. Can’t say I’m surprised.”
Jungkook frowned, noting the dejected tone laced in your laugh and words as you tried to dismiss it. As an athlete himself, he knew how dejecting it must feel that support was one sided or lacking.
“Hey,” He placed the cup on the counter, “Why don’t you educate me? I’d like to know more.”
You smiled, “You’re pretty good at changing your first impression. You’re working really hard.”
He laughed, shaking his head, “No no, I mean it. It’s not just about changing your opinion of me. Tell me about cheer.”
You paused momentarily, recognising the sincerity in his voice as his gaze stayed on you. You knew he was serious about wanting to know more. It was as though the wall you placed between the two seemed to falter, a very minuscule crack forming on the wall.
“Jungkook!” A random college student hollered for his attention, “Come play beer pong with us!” You watched in amusement as you read their body language. They were clearly flirting with Jungkook and calling for his attention.
“Duty calls?”
Jungkook shook his head, “I’ll pass!”
“We can save this talk for another time, you can go— “
“Just to clear things up,” Jungkook turned back to you, “I’m not a fuckboy.”
You choked on air from his sudden defence statement, “I-I didn’t s-say you were— “
“Didn’t have to,” He said with a light smile on his face, “But I expected it too. Comes with the popularity I guess.” “So, you don’t…?” You trailed off and he shook his head, as if he was completely appalled by the sheer thought of being a fuckboy. “No, no. I don’t see the point in flings. Like Yoongi said, I’m here for rugby. Not to find dates.”
It felt as if another crack in the wall was formed after learning that fact. Like how Yoongi managed to break down the wall between you and him a few games ago.
Maybe not all jocks were bad.
“Anyway,” Jungkook pulled you back from your thoughts, “Educate me.”
You began sharing how was practice like, the different roles people were and how strict your coach was. You explained how you were always at the gym on the days you didn’t have training. You always got passionate when you talked about cheer and Jungkook experienced it first-hand. He watched how your face immediately lit up when he asked you to share about the sport. He was sure that even a person with zero interest with cheer would be completely drawn to hear you share about it with how enthusiastic you were.
“We currently have training three times a week since nationals are coming. We practice from late afternoon to almost midnight sometimes.” You paused, a sheepish grin creeping on your face as you realised you had been rambling on about your sport. “I-I’m sorry, I must’ve bored you to death.”
“No, no!” He immediately shook his head, hands out in front shaking as well in protest, “I wasn’t bored. I was really interested. I can tell how much you love cheer though.”
“Y-Yea I really do. Always good to find something to distract you especially during college.”
He nodded his head, “Can’t argue with that.” He raised his plastic cup in his hand, “Cheers to distractions.”
“Cheers,” You laughed, raising your cup towards his.
-
You could say you clicked well with Jungkook that night. In fact, you guys shared a lot about each other’s sport that you didn’t exchange numbers or any form of communication afterwards. It didn’t bug you so much since you figured it was a one-off conversation with him.
To be frank, you almost forgot that you talked with Jungkook that party. Jimin was the one who reminded you, asking about how he was and if you still hated jocks.
“He’s not bad, actually.”
“Of course, that’s why Yoongi actually likes him.” You raised an eyebrow suspiciously, leaning towards Jimin, “Speaking of Yoongi, how are things between you two?”
Your friend snorted, dismissing you with his hand, “What are you talking about? There’s nothing going on. We’re just friendly.”
“For now?”
Jimin shrugged, “We’ll see how it goes.” He gives you a wink before getting up, extending his hand out as an offer to pull you up. “Back on the mat.”
Training went on until 11pm, it was full of drills as soon your coach would be picking who will make mat for nationals. Everyone had to give it their all during practice as you were all constantly being scrutinised by your coach, your attitude, skills, and stamina. You had been training your stunts with Jimin after he managed to pull you back up from your sulking phase. Everything was important.
You separated from Jimin after practice as you made your way to the bus stop to head home. “Yn? Is that you?”
A very familiar honey-like voice.
Jungkook slowly made his way to the bus stop, “What are you doing here at campus so late?” You asked.
“I was studying. Just ended practice?”
“Yea.”
Jungkook glanced at his watch, “Wanna grab a midnight snack?”
You smiled, “Sure.”
“How does ice cream sound?”
“I’m down.”
There was a small ice cream store near campus and luckily, you managed to catch the last order. The both of you enjoyed your slow late night stroll back to the bus stop as you strikes up a conversation with him.
“I realised I was the only one talking about my sport that night. How about you share about rugby? I actually don’t know much about it.”
“You sure?” Jungkook asked, slightly shocked that you had brought up his sport. “Because I can get carried away when I talk about it—“
You laughed, “I’m sure Jungkook. Fire away.”
Jungkook started sharing the rules and positions of rugby - “I’m number 11, one of the wings” You looked at him, already confused with the terms. With a short chuckle, he explained, “I’m one of the backs. We do the running and scoring. Sometimes, we have to knock people down in our way.”
He continued sharing his training schedule as well - how his team similarly had gym sessions on non-training days just like cheer. The only difference was that the rugby team had a gym off campus.
“Sounds fancy.”
“It’s pretty fancy.” He nodded his head letting out an airy laugh.
“Rubgy doesn’t sound too bad now that I know how it works.”
“You could watch one of our matches or practices when you guys aren’t cheering for us.”
“Why not.”
“Guess who I see?” Jimin whispered, nudging you out of your focus. You looked up, placing your dumbbells down, “Where are you looking at?”
“6 o’clock.” He muttered as he sneakily stole your dumbbells to do his set while you turned around to spot Jungkook who had just entered the gym.
You were surprised to see Jungkook and his teammates at the gym. Yoongi was the first one who spotted you. He sent a small smile, raising his hand for a short wave in your direction.
“Hey thief,” You nudged Jimin back, “Yoongi is here too.”
“I know, that’s why I stole your dumbbells.” You chuckled, smacking his toned arms upon learning his tactic.
You watched Yoongi talk to Jungkook, seemingly informing him that you were there as Jungkook turned his body around, his eyes meeting yours. You smiled, sending a hello with your hand to which he returned.
Seeing that you were unoccupied, since Jimin stole your dumbbells, Jungkook made his way to you. “What happened to your almighty external gym?”
He shrugged with a bright smile, “After hearing you hype up the campus gym so much the other night, I thought, why not give it a shot?”
You shook your head with a chuckle, clearly not believing his words. “If that’s the case, enjoy the campus gym!” You reached out to pat his broad shoulders before turning back to resume your gym session.
“Are you done with your set yet?” You questioned Jimin who stood right back up with a grin, “Was he watching me?”
Taking the dumbbells from his hands, you shrugged, “Doubt it.”
“Yea right.” Jimin scoffed, stepping aside to give you more space.
Your gym session lasted an hour as usual, ensuring that you don’t over-work your body as well since your coach was going to be choosing the final 20 soon.
Whenever you weren’t studying or training, you were stressing over whether you’ll make mat. And it was evident on your face. You heard a sigh coming from Jimin, “Don’t stress over it too much. You’ve been working extra hard this season, I’m confident you’ll make it.”
You responded with a weak smile, “Thanks Jimin, I really hope so.”
“Me too, but what you need is to stop thinking about it right now. Go get a distraction for tonight. Tomorrow’s training is going to be torturous.”
“When isn’t it?” You joked, “Touché.”
You packed your gym bag with Jimin, ready to leave and wind down for the day. Jimin was right, you needed a distraction - maybe a Netflix movie, or do some yoga to de-stress, or do a sheet mask —
“Jimin, yn!” You heard Yoongi holler out your names as you walked away from the campus gym.
“Yoongi, what’s up?”
Yoongi walked up to the both of you, accompanied by Jungkook.
“We just ended our session, was thinking if you wanted to grab dinner together?”
“Sure! Yn here,” Jimin laces his arm around yours as he pulled you closer to him, “needs a distraction ASAP.”
“A distraction?” Jungkook asked, looking at you for a response.
“From worrying about making mat.”
Yoongi chuckled, “Jungkook doesn’t know cheer lingo— “
“Oh no,” He shook his head, “I know what that means.”
“You do?!” Yoongi and Jimin asked incredulously.
“I gave him a lecture about cheer during that after party.” You answered and Jimin laughed, “Right! I forgot about your granny lecture.”
You scoffed defensively, “I-I mean he could’ve stopped be any time he was bored— “
“Because I wasn’t. It’s refreshing seeing people be so passionate about something, especially during college.” You returned the smile, the more you interacted with Jungkook, the more you could see why Yoongi kept Jungkook in his small circle of friends.
If there was anything the four of you had in common, it was your passion for your sport.
“I know a great place we can eat at.” Yoongi suggested. The four of you headed over to Yoongi’s go-to restaurants after his workout sessions. As the food started to come to your table, Yoongi and Jimin were caught up with some music competition show that you did not keep up with.
“So how has cheer been?” Jungkook’s voice pulled your attention towards him. “Fun but tiring as usual. Our coach is selecting who will make it to the final 20 for the nationals.” You sighed, anxiousness clearly evident in your tone and on your face.
“Hey, from an athlete to another, I know you’ve trained very hard, and I’ll be rooting for you to make it to the final 20.”
You weren’t sure why, but it felt comforting to hear those words from Jungkook. It felt different than when Jimin would cheer you up. You quickly decided that it was because you were praised by one of the star players of the rugby team. It felt great being acknowledged by someone out of the cheer world.
So, you decided to go with that explanation.
“Thanks, Jungkook, I hope I do. But you technically don’t know whether I’ve trained hard since you’ve never seen me practice.”
“That is true.” He simply grinned at you, “But I just know.”
“You have so much faith in me, Jungkook.” You teased.
He placed his forearms on the table, leaning on them to bring himself slightly close to you, “I have lots of faith in you.”
You weren’t stupid and you weren’t blind either. You and Jimin have been spotting Jungkook and Yoongi loitering around the indoor gym lately.
“Did you see them?” Jimin tossed you your newly refilled bottle, “I haven’t left the gym. They’re here again? It’s like 10pm.”
Jimin shrugged his shoulders, “Yoongi was napping on the table though. Looks like Jungkook was the only one actually studying.”
Jungkook never mentioned to you that he stayed back in campus to revise. Though, you barely talked to him since you never exchanged numbers. Every time you had a conversation with him, you both would get too swept up in the conversation that it never occurred to either of you that it was the 21st century and you could talk with your phones.
Training ended an hour later, and you did not expect them to still be outside ‘studying’.
“You guys are still studying?” Jimin called out as you both approached them, Jungkook’s head shot up almost instantly, his eyes finding yours, a bright smile on his face despite his tired eyes from revision. “What a coincidence seeing you here.”
You raised your eyebrows questioningly, “Here,” You looked around with your hands gesturing to the area, “Right outside the indoor gym, with no fan or AC.”
“Yes, here.” He insisted.
Yoongi sighed, finally waking up from his nap. “What’s with the commotion— Oh, you guys are finally done with practice.” He got up and grabbed his bags, “Jimin, need a lift?”
“Yes please!” Jimin nodded his head, giving you a quick goodbye hug before heading off with Yoongi, leaving you alone with Jungkook.
“Guess I can’t judge your preference for a study location.” You made your way to him as he packed up his belongings. “I kinda feel bad for you that Yoongi ditched you.”
Jungkook shook his head with a smile, “He was meant to ditch me anyway. I was waiting to see you.”
You felt yourself momentarily pause; an inhale stuck halfway as you processed his words. He waited to see me. You thought, your brain trying to find an explanation for that.
“I realised we haven’t exchanged numbers even after all this time.” He continued when he didn’t get a response.
“O-Oh right, here,” You reached for your phone in your bag, handing it to Jungkook. “I’ll drop you message.”
Jungkook didn’t take your phone immediately, his eyes locked on your face, as if he was shocked that you didn’t mind exchanging numbers, his hand reached for your phone, gently brushing against your fingers, sending a fluttery feeling in your way.
Once he added his contact, he returned your phone, “It’s 11pm, do you have a ride home?”
“I usually just take the bus.”
“I have a car. Let me take you home.”
“Oh no,” You shook your head, “You don’t have to really, I’m used to taking the bus— “
“But I’m already here anyway, come on, do you not trust my driving skills?” He joked and you let out an airy laugh, “Alright fine. I owe you one.”
“Nah, you already gave me your number.” He winked at you, throwing his bag over his shoulder, leading the way to the carpark with you slightly stunned from his flirtatious remarks.
The care ride with Jungkook was comfortable, slightly tense on your end at the start. Jungkook gave you the cable to play whatever music you wanted which made you slightly more comfortable. “I don’t know if we have the same music taste— “
“It’s alright, just play whatever you want.”
“O-Okay…”
Surprisingly, you and Jungkook didn’t have that much of a difference in differing taste, there were some songs that he didn’t know but found himself liking it. He himself was shocked to learn that you had similar taste in music.
Jungkook didn’t know why he felt so nervous having you in his car and driving you home. It was not like you were getting married. But why did he feel so nervous? Jungkook rarely flirted or showed interest in someone. His love was rugby - his sport - his life. He poured his heart and soul into the sport. But with you, he found that he couldn’t help flirting with you. It felt natural - It felt right.
Ironically, or maybe not, as he drove you home that night, Jungkook knew deep down, he was in it for the long ride.
Jimin held your hands tightly as you kept your eyelids shut. You could feel that your heart was about to jump out of your chest as you sat on the mat with Jimin, waiting for your coach to call out all the 20 names. It almost felt like you could feel your heartbeat in your head, the suspense and dragging was killing you.
Your hands clammy in Jimin’s but you did not have a single care as all you wanted in that moment was to make it to nationals.
“Jimin.”
You gasped, pulling Jimin in for a tight hug as he yelled in excitement. You were proud of your best friend; you knew that he would make mat and he deserved it.
Names were called and there were only 5 names left to be called, you grip on Jimin’s hands slackened as you started to accept that you won’t make it—
“Yn.”
You ears rang and you thought you were about to go deaf. Jimin’s loud but happy scream stunned you as you were pulled in for a suffocating hug this time.
The last 4 names were called and the final 20 had been made (subject to change).
Tears welled up in your eyes as memories of your gruelling training flashed through your mind. All the tiring practices and extra trainings with Jimin, the hardships and discipline all paid off.
Training went swimmingly, your coach running through sections of the choreography until it was time to wrap up. “Didn’t have the time to properly congratulate you.” Jimin said with a bright proud grin on his face as you left the gym.
“Thanks, Jimin! Hopefully we can stay on the 20 and compete together.”
“I’m confident we will.”
His eyes shifted away from you, and you followed his gaze to see Jungkook outside, once again, studying, alone this time. “Where’s Yoongi?” You asked as you both approached him.
“He gave up studying with me. Probably went home to crash after our practice today.”
Jimin eyed Jungkook’s facial expression suspiciously, eyes darting between you and Jungkook before he spoke, “I’m going book a ride and head home first yea? Text me when you’re home.” Jimin gives your shoulder a good squeeze before saying bye to you and Jungkook.
“What’s with the big smile on your face?” Jungkook questioned as he started packing his belongings. Your smile was contagious and Jungkook couldn’t help but smile as well as soon as he saw your bright expression.
“I got into the top 20!”
You squared like a little girl, once again excited from the thought of making it this season.
Jungkook abruptly stopped gathering his stuff, stepping away from the table, “Really? Congrats, yn!” He pulled you in for a hug which made your muscles stiffen but your arms automatically wrapped around him.
“I’m so proud of you!”
“Thanks, Jungkook.” You chuckled as you pulled away from the embrace. Your mind was clouded, filled with a mixture of thoughts of making it to the Top 20 and how warm that hug felt. How it felt so ‘right’.
Over the past few weeks, it had become a routine, to have Jungkook studying outside the indoor gym and drive you home after practice. You always told him he didn’t need to send you home, but he never listened.
“Our qualifying match is next Friday, if we win, there’ll be an after party, are you free to come?”
“For the after party?”
“Yea, I mean, technically your whole cheer team usually come but since your nationals are coming, I’m assuming you would be too busy to come.”
“No no, I’ll come.”
“You will?” Jungkook’s face lit up and a bubbling feeling grew in your chest as you tried to ignore it. “Yea I will.”
Since Jungkook had his qualifying match around the corner, you stopped seeing him late at night outside the gym. You wouldn’t admit it out loud, but you missed seeing him after your practice.
Nonetheless, you would still spend the night texting him right before bed. It felt so easy to converse with him and you always looked forward to hear stories about his rugby practice and it felt nice to share about your cheer practice to him.
Friday quickly arrived and you decided to watch his match since the game was on your campus grounds. You took a seat somewhere in the middle of the bleachers and your eyes scanned the field to find Jungkook.
You recalled him explaining the positions of the backs and you found his number - 11. A smile crept unto your face as your eyes fixated on Jungkook. Your facial expression always scrunched up into a wince whenever you see them tackle each other during the game. You would let out a hiss as if you were the one sliding against the grass as Jungkook scored a point.
Nonetheless, it was fascinating to actually watch the game. Not surprisingly, after you understood the rules of the game, it was exciting to root for your college’s team. Maybe it was because you were rooting for a particular player, but you wouldn’t admit that to yourself just yet.
During half-time, your college’s team made their way back to the benches which was in front of where you sat. You didn’t bother shouting for his attention since you knew it was important to stay in the zone.
You sat at your spot, watching him, and you almost felt like a stalker. He was drenched in sweat, definitely going to have bruises or scratches from the game, you could see his chest move up and down as he took deep breaths to relax.
You felt your breath get caught in your throat when he had looked up and found your eyes amongst the crowd. Jungkook had been casually looking around the crowd to see if you really did come to watch his game.
He had texted you the night before about how he hoped you could come see his game now that you know how it actually worked. You told him no promises but had made sure you were free the afternoon to attend his game. Of course, you didn’t tell him that.
In an instant, his serious gaze broke into an inviting smile as he mouthed the words “hey” at your direction. You smiled back, returning the greeting while you hoped no one caught that moment between the two of you.
His coach called for their attention to remind them of their game plan but Jungkook was having a battle in his mind. The image of you smiling at the bleachers stayed as he tried to listen to his coach’s words. He knew the game plan, he was always on top the game. But seeing you watching him from the bleachers made him feel giddy but at least he also motivated him to do extra well. He wanted to look good in front of you.
And that’s exactly what he did.
He sent you text to wait for him to freshen up and you sat at your spot, enjoying the breeze as you waited for him to come back from his shower.
“You actually came.”
You looked up from your phone to see a wet-haired Jungkook approaching you with a lopsided grin. “Wanted to give support especially after all the times you sent me home after practice.”
Your phone vibrated as Jimin spammed you with messages when you stopped replying. Jimin had been asking about your whereabouts and you told him you were at the rugby game. He was upset since he would have tagged along to watch Yoongi if he knew you were going.
“Where’s Yoongi?”
Jungkook gestured with his thumb behind him, “Still showering. Is Jimin here?”
You chuckled, shaking your head, “He didn’t know I was coming to watch. I think he’ll attack me later at the party.”
“Sounds like a fun match to see.” He joked and you scoffed, “I’ll beat Jimin easily.”
“I’m sure, I’ll always be rooting for you.”
It sounded like another tease but his words caused nervous knots in your stomach. You deliberately ignored the feeling as you walked down the bleachers to his side, “Shall we get Yoongi and Jimin?”
“Yep, text me his address. We’ll pick him up once Yoongi is ready to go.”
Get ready, Jungkook’s picking you up - yn
I already look good, always ready - Jimin
Yoongi didn’t take long to come out of the showers and the three of you made your way in Jungkook’s car to pick Jimin up, all ready for the after party.
“I haven’t had dinner so I am ready for all the food.” Jimin groaned, clutching his stomach as he hopped off the car.
The four of you made your way up the driveway to see that the after party had started even earlier. “Looks like everyone couldn’t wait to party.” Yoongi commented as you entered through the main door, the loud typical party music blasting through the house.
It wasn’t a very packed party, lesser than the usual after parties but still plenty of people nonetheless.
There were already different groups engaging in different activities - gossiping, flirting, beer pong, truth or dare, Mario Kart and many more.
“Yn, you hungry? I heard Woohyun baked pasta for tonight.” Yoongi gestured to the kitchen. Before you could reply, Jungkook added on, “Someone’s barbecuing in the backyard though.”
“Barbecue?” You repeated, “Sounds delicious.” You turned your head back to Yoongi, “I’ll follow you guys after!”
Yoongi and Jimin made their way to the kitchen while you and Jungkook headed over to start your night with barbecue.
At the backyard, there was a swimming pool with a small lawn where the barbecue was. The two of you made your way to the table with the cooked food, helping yourself to dinner.
“This tastes amazing.” You moaned in delight after the first bite.
Jungkook laughed, “Come on,” He took an empty plate and grabbed a handful of barbecue sticks and kebabs, leading the way to the other side of the pool with one empty lounge chair.
You shared the plastic lounge chair, sitting beside Jungkook as you shared the plate. “So, how was my game?”
“To be honest,” You cleared your throat, “More interesting now that I know the game.”
He grinned like a happy high school boy, “That’s great to hear! Maybe you can watch more of my games or practices when you have the time.”
“We’ll see about that.” You teased, grabbing another stick to feed yourself.
“So, how’s your prep for nationals?”
“Tiring, one of our flyers got a concussion after a bad fall last night so she’s temporarily replaced. Our pyramid’s a mess.”
Jungkook lightly nudged your shoulders, “I’m sure it’ll turn out well. You guys are the defending champions.”
“I hope we can defend it this season.”
“Gotta think positively.” He winked at you and you returned a small smile. Silence fell upon you two as you noticed the lack of personal space between the both of you. It felt comfortable yet nerve-racking to be so close to him.
Was he uncomfortable with the closeness? Should you move away?
Just as you were about to scoot away, he spoke. “I’m really glad you came to my match tonight. It felt different.” He admitted rather shyly as his gaze dropped to the half empty plate.
“Different?”
Jungkook nodded his head, “Felt nice knowing there’s someone out there rooting for me.”
“There were lots of people rooting out for you.”
“Yea but, someone out there that I really want to impress.”
You didn’t have a reply, you weren’t sure how to reply. You decided to opt for a small encouraging pat on his shoulder before retracting your hand.
It didn’t seem much from an outsider’s perspective, but his words held a lot of weight. For the both of you. Almost as if you were about to cross a line - some line that you weren’t sure if you’re both ready to cross.
“Well,” He cleared his throat, standing up, “Shall we go find the two?”
“S-Sure.”
The two of you entered through the back door and was immediately blocked by his fellow team player, handing both of you a bottle of soju. “Gotta help us finish these, Jeon. Someone,” his eyes darted to another team player, “Accidentally ordered twice our usual order.”
“Damn.” Jungkook laughed in disbelief, “I’ll pull my weight then.”
“Great! You know what’s a perfect game for that? Spin the Bottle! You guys wanna play?”
Jungkook’s gaze darted to yours as you hesitated to reply.
“Come on Jeon, you always reject our games. Just this once, yea?”
He sighed, “A-Alright sure. Yn?”
You shook your head, “I’ll pass. Go have fun.” You patted his back as you excused yourself to the kitchen. There was a sour feeling knowing that Jungkook agreed to play Spin the Bottle, you avoided looking at the circle at the living area as you went to find Yoongi and Jimin guarding the snacks.
“Where’s Jungkook?”
“Spin the Bottle.” You plopped yourself down beside Jimin, chugging the soju bottle in your hand.
“Someone sounds affected.” Jimin teased, handing you a plate of pasta.
“No one’s affected.” You defended yourself as you grabbed a fork to eat the pasta, ignoring the feeling in your chest.
You had almost completely forgotten about Spin the Bottle as the three of you went on to talk about other things. You were laughing and enjoying your night with the two until you heard the familiar voice that made your muscles freeze.
“Any pasta left for me?”
You turned to look at Jungkook, “Enjoyed the game?”
“Pretty interesting,” He started and you immediately wanted to shut his voice out, “But would’ve been fun if you were in the game.” He winked at you before he took a plate for himself, acting as if he hadn’t said those words. You saw the empty soju bottle that he placed on the counter top and figured it was the alcohol talking so you decided to brush it off. It was probably the alcohol making him say such a brave statement in front of your friends.
Would something have happened if you agreed to play the game?
You realised that maybe he did decide to be more brave.
He started sitting in the gymnasium to watch your practices. Jimin would always inform you when he spotted Jungkook, insisting that he was here to watch you. Though you constantly denied, because you knew he knew a few of you guys from all the parties.
Somehow, you always felt his eyes were locked on you - his attention never leaving you no matter how chaotic the mat got. Every fall, every success, every break. You just knew he was looking at you.
The first practice you realised he was there, you approached him after practice ended.
“Hey Jungkook!”
“Why are you here?”
“Am I that unwanted? Looks like only Jimin is glad to see me here.”
“N-No,” You were caught off-guard, “I was just wondering—“
“I know, I’m kidding.” Jungkook chuckled, getting up from the bench, hopping down to stand right in front of you. “You came to my game, and I want to come see your practices. I haven’t actually seen how serious cheer can be.”
You hummed, “Alright then.” You tossed your damp towel over your shoulder. Jungkook reached out, “Let me take your bag. I saw how tiring practice was.”
“Jungkook it’s fine—“
“And you fell from that pyramid a couple of times. You better ice that bruise.” He pointed to the bruise on your shin. You had gotten the bruise when you knocked it against one of your teammate’s foot when you had fallen off the pyramid.
He had successfully snatched your duffel bag when you were distracted by the bruise on your shin. “Jungkook—“
“Come on, let the guy be a gentleman.” Jimin nudged your sides and you shot a light glare his way. “I already booked a ride and it’s here so I’ll head home first. Text me when you’re home, yea?” Jimin patted your shoulder before jogging off.
During the ride home, Jungkook shared how in awe he was during your practice. “I felt that same way watching your game too.” You admitted.
“I’m definitely watching nationals with Yoongi.”
“You don’t have to—“
“But I want to! I’m coming.”
Over the weeks, you learned even more about Jungkook.
Firstly, Jungkook was a really thoughtful individual.
He also loved going the extra mile. You knew his rugby training schedule since he shared it before. So you knew he was watching your late night sessions after his tiring ones on some days, yet still sat through all the way.
He didn’t attend all practices, but he didn’t have to. You always appreciated the times he came to watch and you made it a point to watch his trainings as well when you had nothing on.
Secondly, Jungkook was one of the most hardworking and disciplined individuals that you have met.
Every footwork drill, punishment or endurance runs, he took it seriously. He always gave it his 110%. Even when you knew he was near his limit, he never slacked.
Thirdly, Jungkook was cute when he was in the zone.
His eyebrows always scrunched together, sometimes he would bite his lip for extra concentration. He would whisper to himself after his attempts or runs, possibly correcting himself or encouraging himself.
You knew he was his harshest critic. You could see it in his training etiquette.
From an athlete to another, Jungkook was a very respectable athlete - in both fitness and character.
Eventually, this became routine between the both of you. You would watch each other’s practices whenever you had the time. Jimin and Yoongi had gotten used to the scene as well.
Both would tease the both of you separately, “Look who’s here.”
“Shut up.” You both would say to them, trying to fight the smile that wanted to break through.
“You know, people will start thinking that we’re dating.”
“That wouldn’t be a bad thing, now would it?” Jungkook tilted his head, a cheeky grin on his face as he tossed you a cold unopened bottle of water. His reply sent your heart fluttering. He knew his way with words.
“It’ll kill your popularity with the public. Everyone will lose hope and stop pining after you.” You said dramatically after taking a big gulp of the refreshing water.
“Still don’t see how that’s a bad thing.”
“You know, you’re a real flirt Jeon Jungkook.”
He grinned cheekily, “Only when I want to.”
He definitely knew his way with words, and possibly, his way to your heart.
Jungkook started asking you out for lunch and dinner over the weeks, including the weekends. It was refreshing seeing you two not dripping in sweat from training. And he cleaned up well.
Although the rugby finals and cheer nationals were just around the corner, you both tried to find spare time to hang out. It felt like a stress-reliever. You both needed it. Jungkook knew he needed and wanted it. He always wanted to see you.
You were both at an open field, lying next to each other, bodies facing up as you enjoyed the night sky. Silence engulfed the both of you as you relished the tranquility of the night.
With hectic schedules, you appreciated times like this when you didn’t have to think about something so serious like competitions and expectations.
You were grateful that you made it to the Final 20 but it was still stressful knowing that there are high expectations for your team to defend your title.
It was the same for Jungkook.
“This feels great, doesn’t it?” He was the first to break the silence.
You turned just your head to admire his side profile as his eyes remained glue to the starry night.
“It does.”
Jungkook paused before continuing the conversation, “You know, I didn’t actually play Spin the Bottle that night. I just drank every time it was me, just wanted to please Woohyun.”
Confused, you weren’t sure why Jungkook had brought that up out of the blue. “Why are you—”
“I just wanted you to know. Felt like you had to know.” He shrugged his shoulders, pressing his lips into a tight line. “Didn’t want to send mix signals.”
“Mix signals?” You turned around, lying on top of your stomach as you got up on your forearms. You had a hunch of where this conversation was heading, but you didn’t like to be one making assumptions. Jungkook turned his head to face you, “I’m into you. I always like being with you and I hope you feel the same way.”
Nothing came out of your mouth. You were stunned by his sudden confession. Your eyes remained on his face as he kept a soft smile, with not a single ounce of regret on his face.
“I… I like being with you too.” You replied shyly, shuffling back down to lie down on your back next to him, not daring to make eye contact.
Next to you, Jungkook let out a short chuckle. He decided not to push it for that night. But it was enough to know that things were going right between the two of you.
“I never shared this with anyone but, sometimes, I do feel like quitting rugby.”
You were taken aback by his sudden change in topic but didn't to roll with it
“Why?”
He took a while to respond, formulating his thoughts into sentences. “The expectations get too much sometimes, especially as one of the labelled star players.” He scoffed, as if he was laughing at the term, or himself.
“I’m sure as the Final 20 in cheer you feel that expectation as well.”
You didn’t give a verbal reply, only nodding your head as you turned your head back to face up to the sky.
Jungkook didn’t need a verbal reply, he knew you felt the same.
“It’s suffocating. But right now, I feel like I can take a deep long breath, and not worry about making a mistake or slowing down.”
Just as he said that, he took a deep inhale, letting out his breath through is mouth.
“That felt good to let out. I never wanted to share this with others because I’m afraid they’ll think that I’m taking my position and skills for granted.”
“Yea I get what you’re saying.” You assured him and he smiled, turning his head to face you. You heard the shuffling sounds and you decided to face him as well, momentarily freezing when your eyes finally met his.
“But it feels like I can talk to you about anything. It feels nice to talk to you, yn.”
You were once again lost for words, feeling your cheeks grow hot as your eyes remained locked in his gaze.
“I feel safe with you.”
It was the final championship match for rugby. Your cheer team was once again there, to root for your college - you and Jimin were specifically rooting for Yoongi and Jungkook.
The whole venue was excruciatingly loud and tense. Both colleges with great support backing them. The match was very close and you could tell how they seemed more tired than other games. The nerves and the physical demand was getting to them.
Your coach yelled, calling their hands to get your attention. “Come on guys, time to boost their morale”
With your pom poms in your hands, your cheer team gathered, facing your side of the bleachers, enthusiastically cheering the campus cheers and getting the crowd to join in.
It was followed by simply stunts and routines to get the atmosphere more lively and ready for the game to resume.
As the players passed by your team, you all wished them good luck.
“Good luck, Yoongi!”
“Good luck, Jungkook!” You exclaimed encouragingly, shaking both your pom poms his way as he turned around to see you. He winked at you, mouthing the words ‘thank you’ before they made their way to the field.
“You’re drooling.”
Jimin’s voice taunted you from the side, You elbowed his side, “You’re doing the same.”
“Touche.”
As the timer reaches the end, your side erupted in the loudest of cheers, you happily screaming along with the crowd. This win felt different from all the different times your cheer team supported them. Your college managed to defend their title, winning the championship for the season.
When the players returned to the benches and huddled for a group photo together, Jimin whispered, “Why don’t you go up and congratulate him?”
“Hush, Jimin, not in front of everyone.”
“Come on, don’t be shy. I know you like him.”
“We’re just close friends.”
Jimin scoffed, his index finger pointing to you and himself, “You and I are close friends. You and Jungkook however, are idiots who don’t want to admit that you guys like each other.”
“Shut it!” You sighed, lightly hitting him with your pom poms. When you turned around, Jungkook had already made his way to you. “You were cheering really hard back there.”
“Just for you.”
Just for me?” He raised his eyebrows, a smug look on his face as he stepped closer, “Yoongi’s gonna be devastated knowing that—“
“Actually my cheers were for Yoongi but I didn’t want you to feel upset or forgotten.”
Jungkook frowned and you really wished you had the guts to just kiss him right there, your eyes flickering to his pink soft lips.
“I’m kidding, don’t cry, not when you just became a champion.”
Jungkook laughed heartily before leaning towards your ear, “I’m already a champion having you on my side to cheer me on.”
Attention immediately shifted to your team for the upcoming nationals which was just a week after Jungkook’s finals.
You guys had constant past few runs leading up to the final day and everything felt like it would go well. The biggest obstacle was controlling your mental state during the day itself.
The night before, Jungkook had sent you a lengthy good luck message as he reminded you that he would be there.
You slept peacefully that night and woke up to read his message in the morning once again. You had your own cheerleader this time.
Everything seemed to go by quickly, the warm ups and runs backstage while waiting for your team’s turn. You had not met Jungkook or Yoongi since you were preparing backstage with your team, focused on getting into the right mental state.
Your heart almost jumped out of your chest when it was finally your team’s turn to perform.
The sun was scorching hot and there were many spectators. You stood in formation with your teammates as you waited for the song to play.
It felt way different than last season. Even though you were there last season to support the performing team, it truly felt different to be the one about to perform on the mat. With all eyes on you, carefully watching for any mistakes or mishaps. The heat already making you sweat when you stepped onto the stage.
But once the music played, that was all you could focus on.
Bright smiles plastered on all your faces as you went through the routine. A silent celebration in your head every time your team successfully pulled off a stunt.
Quick gazes made on the mat as you constantly changed formation. Encouraging looks and the sounds of the encouragement on the mat from your teammates to get you through the routine.
And just like that - it was your ending pose. Heavy pants surrounding you as your gaze locked on the audience. You all broke character afterwards, squealing and hugging each other for not screwing up the pyramid and the routine.
It felt good.
In fact, it felt amazing.
Jimin yelled your name, pulling you in for a tight hug, “We did it!”
“I know!”
Once all the teams had finished, the top 2 teams were announced and your college name was called out.
In front of the entire crowd, you hold intertwined your hands, head hung low and eyes shut right as you awaited for the results. The cheerleader holding the 2nd prize trophy walked back and forth between the two college teams as the announcer evilly drags on the result.
Your heartbeat was pounding loudly and you could feel it in your head, all your hands clasped together were clammy from nervous sweat.
Jungkook’s hopefully eyes stayed locked on your figure as he waited for announcements from the crowd.
The other college was called and your entre team’s knees went weak, buckling as some immediately fell to the ground.
Deafening screams erupted as you were pulled into a big group hug, you guys had just defended your title.
Your team was the reigning national champion once again.
Tears were falling as everyone congratuler each other. Your coach and assistant coach ran up to mat to join the group hug as your team proudly accepted the winning trophy.
You had made your way off the stag to reunite with the other cheer members as the public slowly started to approach you for a team photo.
With tears all over your faces, you posed for the group photos as thanked all your teammates with a big hug.
“Yn!”
You heard his voice amongst the chaos.
You felt yourself immediately searching for the familiar pair of eyes in the crowd. The moment your eyes landed on him, you rushed up towards him, his arms wide open ready to accept you.
Jungkook pulled you in for tight embrace, repeatedly saying “congrats, you did it, I know you guys would win”. Tears flowed down your face once again still not believing what had just happened.
It felt so surreal and yet being in Jungkook’s embrace felt even more surreal. It was as if you were in a dream.
“Congrats yn!” You heard Yoongi’s voice from behind Jungkook.
You pulled away to see not only Yoongi but the entire rugby team with him. They were cheering proudly, chanting your college’s name with pride. Your eyes immediately farted back to Jungkook who had kept his arms around you.
“Did you…?”
“Yes, I convinced everyone to come. They’d be missing on such a stellar performance.”
As if your grin couldn’t get any bigger, your broke into a euphoric laugh, “You’re amazing.”
“You’re calling me amazing? After what your team had just displayed back there? You must be blind—“
Maybe it was the adrenaline rush, the high influx of dopamine from winning the competition and from being in his embrace. It didn’t matter, when your lips met his, you knew that was all that mattered at that moment.
You felt Jungkook lean into the kiss, his arms pulling you closer to his body. Both of you could hear your cheer team behind you and Jungkook’s rugby team behind him, both cheering your names.
You guys laughed into the kiss when you heard Yoongi and Jimin loudly expressed their thoughts. “It’s about time.”
“I swear I thought they’ll never get to this stage.”
His bright and welcoming smile never failed to make your day, no matter how tired you were. You never thought that you’d love going for rugby practices and matches. It was the complete opposite scenario from the beginning of the year.
But now, it never got boring to watch your boyfriend get into his sport. You would always tell him that he looked attractive when he was serious. You enjoyed doing that because it always made him fluster and fumble over his words.
“I-I don’t… Nah… I don’t look cute when I’m serious.” He would adjust the neckline of his shirt, trying to maintain a nonchalant expression on his face.
“You’re finally done.” You made your way down the bleachers, “I’ve been thinking about dessert the past 30 minutes.”
Jungkook nodded his head, extending his arms out to pull you into a sweaty hug. He placed a light kiss on your forehead, pulling back slightly to get a better view of your face.
“Ice cream?”
Deja Vu.
You remembered the first night you hung out with Jungkook after meeting him at the after party. When you were at the bus stop ready to go home.
WIth a grin, you leaned in to kiss his soft lips lightly, “I’m down.”

CUDDLING (BNHA, HQ, & JJK) | HEADCANONS PT. II
Tumblr media Tumblr media
includes: atsumu m., bakugou k., bokuto k., fushiguro m., hinata s., kenma k., kuroo t., nishinoya y., oikawa t., & osamu m.
from the writer: these are v different than the other cuddling hcs but bear w/ me, I actually like these
notes & warnings: light cursing, vulnerability, mentions of cooking, venting/ranting, mentions of injury, cuddling pt.I
Tumblr media
Atsumu:
he gets a little whiny when you say that you don’t want to cuddle him, so as you can tell, cuddles are an often occurrence
and it may just be him coming off as clingy (and it is) but Atsumu really cherishes every moment with you and learns to do so because of his full schedule
he knows that relationships are risky when you’re practically on the fast track to becoming an athlete who’s constantly training
and he realizes that he probably won’t have that much time to spend with you in the future because his passion and you are both really important to him and he can’t help but be greedy and want to have both
so at times like this, he really wants to focus on you the most and cuddling is one of the best ways to do so
it lets him relax and spend time with you and best of all, he gets to see your face and have deep talks about life. don’t question him about it, once he starts, you’re not gonna stop him until he gets to a satisfying conclusion to what exactly is the purpose of living in this world
and for him, it’d be to love you ofc :) but going back to cuddling, he likes it overly warm cause his body just runs very cold for some reason unless it’s after he’s played an intense game
you have to watch out for those hands cause there’s three outcomes, one: they’re tickling you to death, two: they’re secret weapons to put on your body so that you’ll push yourself closer to him for warmth, and three: they’ll land right on your ass :3 and in the most innocent and playful way possible cause flat or not, he’s grabby for you and your attention
Bakugou:
ah, my sweet baby boy, i love him so much but god he’s so annoying(ly cute)
he’s so touch starved and the thought of cuddling is so foreign yet so desirable to him and it makes him act even more tsundere somehow like wtf bro >:(
but it’s okay no, it’s not, it’s not okay cause the first time you guys cuddled he would not move a single inch out of fear of blowing you and your bed up like man’s literally didn’t want to breathe until you said he could but is he gonna admit that? no, so you’re not allowed to say anything or he “blast you off the face of the earth”
okay but seriously, he’s actually really scared of hurting you because he knows how harsh he can be with not only his words but his actions as well and he wants to be able to care for you gently in some form of affection
he says he wants to be the big spoon but if you have to ask him at least twice for him to open up and tell you what he actually wants in the most tsundere way possible
which is to be irritated about you insisting on holding him, but it’s honestly something he really needs
he’s scared to tell you because he feels like he can’t show vulnerability when he feels like he needs to be tough enough to protect you in a world like yours
being able to feel your body against him and to hear your heartbeat resonating throughout your body comforts him more than you would think, he takes cuddling as an outlet for him to show you how much he cares and loves you
Bokuto:
ahh, baby is smiling the moment you ask if you guys can cuddle, and as hyper as he is everywhere he goes, he’s actually really easy to put down since he does tend to use up a lot of energy during the day
so if you guys face each other while cuddling, you’ll see a softer, calm smile that’s just as genuine as any other grin of his
he really likes it when you play with his hair
it goes in many directions as you can tell and sometimes it even hurts his head when he lets it down for once so please massage his scalp and not only will he fall deeper into sleep but also into love with you god that was so cheesy
you’re kinda like his teddy bear
he hugs you really tight because he’s conscious of how loud and annoying he can come off as to some people and he’s scared that you might see him as that one day too (you never will bc its Bokuto <3) but he feels like if he doesn’t hold on tight to you, then you’ll slip out from his grasp (he just doesn’t want to lose you 🥺)
I'm not sure if anyone would expect this or not, but he’s a really good listener so if you have something on your mind then he’ll listen if you need to vent about it because he wants to make sure that you’re happy and when you aren’t, he wants to help you through it until he’s reached the maximum capacity of his abilities
if he sees that you have even the slightest hint of eyebags, or just straight up trash bags under your eyes if you’re like me T_T, he’ll get sad that you’re overworking yourself when your body clearly needs rest and he’ll bring his hand up to soothe the skin before placing a kiss there
Fushiguro:
i would think that as much as he liked to be held by you out of comfort and love, he also wants to be able to hold you
he has that sense of protection over the people he loves and cares about and that especially includes you so you guys are constantly switching positions during cuddling
if you haven’t also noticed already, he tends to get injured a lot in battle for almost no reason sometimes and it honestly just hurts you too sometimes to see him so fucked up especially from Todo like wtf bro ik he was testing him but still 😭
so there are times when you have to be especially cautious with Fushiguro when his body is trying to heal give him healing smooch ^3^
and if you’re the one who’s hurt? god forbid that he ever touches a single hair on your body because he doesn’t want to hurt you more than you already are, even if you insist that you’re fine, he won’t let up unless you’re as stubborn as him or until you’ve completely healed he claims it’s different for him because you heal him mentally
he also tries to be gentle with you, and he is, but he feels like he needs to restrain himself from putting his needs before yours even during such a trivial time as cuddling when he really wants to hold you tight for a sense of security so it’ll be small but the signs are there
sometimes when you’re on the verge of sleep, you might feel a little tickle against your nose and yes, that is Fushiguro giving you a bunny kiss
he finds those as a form of intimacy that feels like he can tell you everything through one little brush of his nose against yours and the action is so innocent but to Fushiguro, it holds a lot more meaning than you would think and in a way, it’s sort of his silent ‘i love you’
Hinata:
Hinata is initially a person who likes to smile a lot and he knows how to show his emotions well
but when you’re with him, he’ll try to mostly stay happy for you until you guys cuddle, you could say that the first time was kind of a turning point for your relationship
like I said, he knows how to show his emotions but it’s actually very selective when it comes to most people so this would actually be the first time that you’ve seen him calm
or as much as he can be since he is also really nervous to be close to you, and after the first few initial times of cuddling, he’ll even go as far as to tell you what’s disturbing him
he has a lot on his mind that isn’t always gonna be volleyball and sometimes it’s trying to keep up in school, sometimes it’s trying to keep contact with an old friend, and sometimes it’s just worrying about you
he’s not in a relationship with volleyball, he’s in a relationship with you and he wants to be able to focus more on you and your own occupations as a way of getting to slowly learn more about you
he really likes to hold you against his chest. he’s a bit smaller than average yes, but that only goes to spur on that feeling inside him that makes him want to take on the world with you at his side
he’ll get really blushy if you appreciatively kiss him anywhere while cuddling. as much as he likes to praise and encourage other people, he likes it when you cheer on for him as well because through all of his life, he’s been told that his abilities are limited but when you finally cheer him on and tell him that he can do whatever he wants to do, that’s the moment he falls deeper
Kenma:
he’s not even sure what to do if you even try to hint at wanting to cuddle him
all he’s ever known are virtual battle axes and tossing a ball around so as lazy as he seems, he’s actually really fidgety (you could say it’s from constantly handling his gaming console in his free time)
you guys might not be laying down so much as him sitting up against the headboard of the bed and playing games while you lay your head in his lap or on his shoulder
but he’s not really used to the idea of touch (or people for that matter) so those positions are his compromise for any type of skinship you may desire
he won’t try to show his emotions and even when he wants to, it takes a lot of energy for him since he just comes off as chill most of the time but little do you know, he’s actually beaming inside at the new idea of being able to spend time doing what he likes and with who he likes
but even while he’s playing his video game, he does feel guilty that he can’t exactly give you what you want or need because of his antisocial tendencies
it’s honestly a bigger surprise to him that you would ever want to be with him in the first place so even when he’s nonchalantly inserting his opinion when asked, he tries to do it in a way to show that he appreciates you most of all for sticking with him
occasionally, he will want a hug for a few minutes at most but if he does fall asleep (and he just might because he’s sleep-deprived from playing games all night) then you’ll have the chance to actually see and feel how much he loves you from how tight his hold becomes, it may not be the tightest but it’s the thought of him not wanting to let go that touches you
Kuroo:
your relationship is full of teasing. playful touches, quick pecks to the cheek, and best of all: moments of vulnerability in the events of, you guessed it, cuddling
in the outside world, he’s known for playfully making fun of his s/o in the most loving way but to you and only you
he’s a nerd who really likes his hugs because his snarky self can’t always keep up with his true intentions, that being to have a moment of peace with you where everything is laid out bare (verbally not literally, jeez 💀)
as cool as he may seem to everybody else, he doesn’t want to keep up that silly act around you and he wants to be comfortable enough to talk about random chemistry theories he learned from lectures or an upcoming game he’s worried about and he wants you to be able to do the same
he feels like cuddling is one of the big chances where everything on your mind goes and you get to have the talking spoon
of course he won’t force you to do so and at times there might just be complete silence between the two of you but there’s been enough said to each other that you don’t have to talk at all
he’s a smart man. he knows a lot of stuff which means he’s taking those classes where the work piles up even more and he feels like the world is pushing him down, and that’s where you come in. being with you doing almost nothing is therapeutic to him and his body just feels that much lighter at your touch
Nishinoya:
his position in volleyball is tough and just as important as any other position which means he’s training a lot
translation: there’s not much time he gets to spend with you after practice. but that doesn’t mean he’s not gonna try to make it work so surprisingly, yet not so surprisingly, you guys have a lot of fun sleepovers thus, initiating cuddles
before rejoining the club in his second year, you had to watch him train himself almost to death and he was littered with bruises
it was like you were the only one who was outwardly conscious of that but nevertheless, he’d deal with the pain and hold you close anyways because you’re his s/o who he loves so much
he’s fine with being the big or little spoon, or if you want to face each other (whatever that position is called idk) then he’s completely fine with it. as long as he gets to talk to you and that you’re happy, he’ll quite literally do anything you want him to (and i mean, that’s a lot of power 😳)
but he’s always moving and he can never stop, even in his sleep you sometimes get pushed to the floor because he accidentally kicked you out of bed (he got so sad when you told him the first time💀so you never tell him that he does it so often)
but when he’s awake, he likes to play with your hair or even the hem of your shirt so he doesn’t have to move you out of your comfortable position
he falls asleep really fast but only with you. he’s not bored so much as he just feels so at ease and comfortable with you that everything that seemed so important, that it was starting to stress him out, just vanishes. you bring a neutral zone where he is able to properly rest in your care and he loves every part of it
Oikawa:
please, ask him, beg him if you have to if you want to cuddle because he really needs the rest but he’s too stubborn on volleyball to get it (how ironic for someone who told kageyama to know when to rest) but whatever you do, you can’t let him overwork himself
he can get really restless at first ngl, he’ll twitch and feel the need to get back on the court because that’s where he belongs
so you have to show him that his life should not surround a single sport because you’ve heard from others (Iwa-chan) and even Oikawa himself of his past moments that weren’t so bright
and is that going to make you love him any less because of those moments? of course not
even when he vents to you at times, you know that’s when he really can’t bottle things up, but at the same time he also feels like he shouldn’t keep it from you because he trusts you so much it’s almost unreal to even Oikawa himself
when you’re caressing his cheek and you sweep his bangs out of the way to give his forehead a kiss, whisper little words of affirmation and encouragement to the best of your abilities
soon enough, he’ll come to recognize what you’re doing and he absolutely loves you for it
in return or even just at random moments like in the dead of the night, he’ll lightly, almost not even touching, press a kiss to your nose and it’s small and short but he puts so much love and meaning into it because he wants you to impossibly feel how he adores you in the small moment in which the two of you are connected
Osamu:
this is perfect. you want to cuddle, he wants to nap, and the best of all, you’ll still be spending time together so basically, Osamu considers every cuddle session a date
if you want to go into the outside world for an actual date, he’ll shortly complain about you guys already having a date yesterday night when all you did was cuddle but regardless, he’ll still take you out
he feels like your guys’ best dates have been indoors though: cooking, watching tv, cuddling
Osamu likes the feeling of mundanity and being so casual with you that it feels like he’s already proposed and married you. and it’s when you guys are huddled in his little twin bed that he knows you’re the one he’s gonna end up marrying in the end
the way he looks at you is like the first time he confessed, except now he’s not afraid to show it so he professes his love with every extra second he stares, which is longer than any other normal person, and even when he knows that he can just say it out right to you, he doesn’t
eye contact has come to be a form of communication between the two of you and it brings him back to elementary school where kids would make up their own secret codes to talk shit about the teacher
so he keeps eye contact with you not to be awkward but to make sure that nobody else but you knows exactly what he’s saying
he feels comfortable napping around you, it was a given from even before you got together and people may not think much of it, saying that it’s normal Osamu behavior, but never would he nap with his brother in the same house so you know the moment he knocks out, he’s placed his full trust in you to keep him safe just as he would do for you

It was a place where he felt happy and at peace whenever he had the chance to stay there. Where he fell in love for the first time and had his first heartbreak, a lot of firsts for him were in Paris. But what happens when he goes back to the same book shop four years later and finds the love of his life in the arms of another with a daughter who looks suspiciously like him…
THEMES: Single Parent, Jungkook x Fem!Reader, self insert, Smut will be included in a later chapter
MASTERLIST || NEXT
Tumblr media
As soon as the plane touched the floor Jungkook instantly felt at home even if his home wasn't Paris it was still felt like home to him. Everything about Paris made him feel at peace and in a place, he couldn't help but fall in love with more and more every time they came here. Pulling his bag through the airport calling Namjoon to let him know that he'd arrived in Paris safely like the leader had requested but he had to have been sleeping because there was no answer from him so he just put his baseball cap on paired with some sunglasses and walked out, keeping his head down as he walked.
The joys of the break coming like this meant that no one knew where he was heading, not even his manager knew that Jungkook had flown to France he didn't want everyone following him around he wanted it to be just like his old times there when he was a kid and the last summer he was there. This break was about spending time alone and just having some time to breathe, no paparazzi, no fans. He adored all of ARMY but sometimes he just needed some time to himself.
It was almost four years to the date when the boys all took a break from their idol life to spend some time off and away from everything and just like today he flew to Paris. One of the places he'd loved as a kid since he would always come here on his summer breaks,
"Bonjour," He greeted one of the cab drivers who nodded at him through the rearview mirror with no response, waiting for the address to be given to him. Jungkook could recite the address as if it was his own home address, it had never left his brain even in the four years he'd been away from it.
"234 Louvre Road please," It was the address of an apartment above a book shop, one that he'd spent most of his inside of when he came to Paris with his grandmother, and the one he'd been in four summers ago the last time he was alone in the city without the boys around. Of course, they'd been there many times since but Jungkook could never break away from them or the paparazzi long enough to go and visit the small shop.
"Right away Sir, what brings you to the city of love?" Jungkook assumed he was trying to make some conversation to help pass the time so he just decided to speak back to him. The man was balding and had a thick black beard, he couldn't have been any older than his 50's.
"I've missed coming here, so I decided it was time for a visit." He chuckled to himself even though what he was saying wasn't funny. It was the nervous chuckle he did whenever he didn't know what to say, he turned and began staring out of the window as he passed by everything. Nothing had changed, the views were still spectacular no matter the angle you looked from, everything was still just as beautiful as ever. The sun was already starting to set in the city and it made everything look more impressive than it already did, the fairy lights were just starting to twinkle on the Effiel Tower.
"No story of a long lost love living here? I've heard them all kid and I can read you like a book," The man laughed softly as he pulled onto the main road, Jungkook's heart sank at the thought of you even still being in Paris, you would have been long gone by now there was no way of knowing.
"No. Not for me." He lied, laughing it off as though it wasn't weighing him down so he kept his attention on the view out of the window, looking at all the different people that were around him. All of the couples running along together, families huddled together as they toured the city of love.
This was supposed to be a creative break for him, Namjoon told him that he thought Jungkook could have a breakthrough with some lyrics he'd been struggling on so he was hoping Namjoon was right about that. Paris was always one of the places Jungkook felt most creative, the art and the people all inspiring him. It was where he'd written a lot of the love songs that were on his mixtape...That wasn't released yet, Jungkook didn't think it was ready but he was sure after this break it would be. He just needed something...More.
"Here you go sir," Jungkook tipped the taxi driver and got out at the small book shop.
It was just the way he remembered it from his childhood and the summer he'd spent there. The small shop nestled right between the river and across from the Effiel tower, the view from the apartments above it was honestly breathtaking and made him wonder how the place was still just a book shop instead of a B&B but he didn't mind, the place was still there, still his private little nesting place. He wondered if the inside had changed all over the last four years of him being gone, Grace was always crazy about changing everything inside. Going on about how the decor was wrong, or the shelves needed rearranging whenever she didn't like something in its place. He was about to head inside of the shop when he froze in place, his hand on the handle of his suitcase tensing while his knuckles turned when he saw you standing there.
Reaching across the counter probably speaking French to one of the customers since it was practically your native tongue the way you spoke it, your hair was longer than it was Four summers ago and you seemed happier somehow. The corners of your lips were turned up in a smile and it made his stomach flip and kick the longer he watched you engaging with someone. Although he had no idea what you were saying he was making it up in his head, imagining what you would say to someone who was asking for a book recommendation. It had been one of your favourite things to do in the shop, you'd read so many different books Jungkook always wondered how you kept it all in your head.
"Excusez-Moi monsieur, Allez-Vous à l'intérieur?" Excuse me, sir, are you going in?" Jungkook was pulled from his daydream about you and turned to see a small elderly lady holding a stack of books in her hand, he'd hardly heard her and he doubted that he would if she hadn't have tapped his shoulder to gain his attention. She frowned at him as she watched him, Jungkook could have sworn she looked an awful lot like Grace but he couldn't be sure.
"Oh, Oh...Sorry. No." He stepped out of the way darting to hide down the side of the shop when you looked up. There was a bell above the door that alerted whoever was working that someone had entered so you glanced up, right as Grace walked through the door with a stack of books in her hand.
"Bonjour!" He heard your voice and it was just as sweet as he remembered it from before, you still sounded like you which was good since you were you and not some alien that was disguised to look like you...He knew it was impossible. But his flight over here had been cramped full of dreams about you...Nightmares rather. One stemming from an Alien abduction to the next one of you flipping out at him when you see him.
"There was an odd boy outside, I'm sure I know him." That was his cue to leave that meant that the woman had been Grace. Grace was like a mother to you so he knew you would have told her all about him and why he'd left you, he dragged his suitcase down the cobbled road trying to find another taxi service. He couldn't stay in the apartment above the bookshop you were working in. It would feel too weird but his heart was aching to go and see you one last time. To get one last glance at you before he disappeared, his heart yearned for it but he shook his head, keeping his eyes downcast as he tried to find a cab.
"An odd boy? Madame Grace, you think everyone is odd," You laughed softly at the elderly lady taking her in the direction of the back of the shop to settle her down with a pot of tea and one of the books she'd brought along with her. It was her own store but she'd never read anything from inside of it. 'It's all junk' She said to you one day as she settled down with books in different languages you could never understand.
"He was really odd, just watching you through the window. I thought he was going to come in but then I startled him," She continued ranting about how he shouldn't have been standing in the doorway like that how it would only deter people from coming into the charming little bookshop she owned. You poured her a cup of tea into the small teacup and shook your head at her,
"I'm sure he was just lost Madame Grace," Your voice came out softly and she patted the top of your hand, she always knew you were nice to everyone.
"Where is your handsome boyfriend?" She meant David, of course, she loved him since she was the one to set you up with him and he was..."One of a kind." There was one thing about him, you hadn't worked out what it was going on between you, you knew he liked you a lot and he and Arehum - your daughter - got along perfectly well but you weren't sure how you felt about him. There was nothing wrong with him of course, he was a great guy but there just wasn't something there that made you feel connected to him.
"He's out with Arehum." You spoke to her, she sighed happily going back to her books as you left to go and answer the bell that had been ringing, it was the latest delivery of books that had been ordered in. Josh was standing there with a clipboard and a box that looked relatively heavy.
"Has the person renting the apartment been by yet?" The delivery boy - Josh - asked as he handed you a box full of books, you grunted putting them down behind the counter. Everyone you were close with knew the ins and outs of the shop and were interested to see who you'd finally decided to rent the apartment out to.
"Not yet, I'm sure they'll turn up soon though. I can't believe someone wants that place, no one's been up there in years." You said as you began singing on the small pad he was holding out for you. The bookshop you worked in had two apartments above it, the bookshop was the bottom and basement floor - the basement was mostly used for storage. Then the apartments were on the second and third floors both of them relatively big to say they were just some small apartments.
The third floor was one that an ex-boyfriend of yours had stayed in over the summer four years ago since then no one had rented the apartment out. Mostly because you never advertised it anymore, the thought of someone going up there...Being there where your memories were didn't sit right with you but when someone called to book it you couldn't say no. So you had to venture up there the other day when you had to clean it out since Grace was far too old to come to the shop and do it herself. She struggled walking around alone nevermind climbing up all those stairs and cleaning.
"I hope so anyway, I didn't clean that place out for nothing." You joked as Josh bean walking out of the door and left you to deal with the boxes in front of you. Most of them were on the History of Paris and some were old cliche romances that Grace had clearly snuck onto the order, she was a sucker for the cliches and as much as it pained you to admit it...So were you. The cliche romances where there are two people one bed or enemies to lovers...They were always a favourite of yours.
Tumblr media
This was not how Jungkook wanted to spend his holiday, he'd been longing to stay in that apartment since it was where all of his memories were but seeing you there sent him into a wave of emotions, mostly guilt for what he'd done to you. How things had ended between you both wasn't the best of ways.
The Hotel Antoniette was the hotel he'd found the quickest, it was close to the bookshop in case he found himself brave enough to head inside at a later date. The hotel was huge and elaborate, probably since it had been a palace belonging to a French Aristocracy. It was close to the Tuileries Garden and the Louvre which he adored, he could remember all of the times he'd spent roaming around the museum and the garden with you hand in hand as you spoke about your day in the shop and his time in Paris. Back then you had no idea who he was, to you he was just Jungkook who'd been travelling on his break from college to come and see Paris and decided to stay a little longer for the ''view'.' Which of course, the view was you. He wished he'd been honest with you about who he really was. Maybe none of it would have happened. Maybe you would have somehow made it all work out, he could still be happy with you.
His suite was right on the top floor - the best that money could buy him, he figured it would bring more privacy if he could just hide out in the hotel room most of the days. He was sure he could find something to occupy his mind if he did end up stuck here. The room had french-style windows that opened up onto a balcony giving him the most magnificent view of Paris he pushed the doors open to look at the fairy lights on the Effiel Tower in the pitch-black night. He kept his eyes on the structure, watching the way all the lights changed somehow making them look like stars. It was stunning to look at but his mind was going back to you in that book shop. He wondered how you were, How you'd been doing over the last four years and if you'd even remember him but, of course, you would. How could you after what you went through together? That kind of love couldn't have been one-sided and he doubted you could forget it so easily.
Trying to distract himself he went back into his suite to go and unpack his bag, the whole place was like a huge apartment all decorated in white with marble counters. The bedding was a pale-peach kind of colour stacked high with pillows that he had no idea how he was going to get back onto the bed the next morning when he got up. He slid his bag over to the dressing room and almost dropped the case on the spot, it was only half of the size of the bedroom and it was lined wall to wall with mirrors all doubling as wardrobes he could see himself in every square inch of the room so he began unpacking as quickly as he could, making a promise to himself not to go in there at night time because it scared him. The thought of walking into a dark room and catching his own reflection...He'd seen enough horror movies to know better than that.
By the time he got back out of the hotel it was getting close to 10:30 pm and he wanted to stop by the shop one last time, just to see you and maybe try to speak to you. He had his hat on, hoodie pulled around his body with some shorts on since it was summer and quite warm at night, most of the shops were already closing up but he noticed the lights inside the book store were all on.
"Grace I can lock up alone," Your voice came out smooth as you spoke the small old lady who'd been outside of the shop earlier when Jungkook had been there confirming it to be Grace. You slid a cup of what looked like something hot into her hand it was steaming and Jungkook scoffed. Who could drink hot drinks in this weather? It was far too hot for that. It was much better to have a cold drink on a night like this.
"How was your day?" Grace questioned you sitting back against an armchair that was inside of the shop, Jungkook remembered picking the chair out with you at a car boot sale you both went to. He remembered taking it back to the shop in a struggle before the both of you curled up to sleep in it. The chair wasn't huge but it was comfy enough to take a nap together there for an hour or two until he woke up and had a dead arm from the position you'd fallen asleep in. Jungkook felt like such a creep for watching through the giant glass window but there was something about you that was different that he couldn't put his finger on.
"It was okay, Josh came by with a new delivery. How was your day Areum?" You called out behind Grace, Jungkook wondered who Areum was who you seemed to change your tone for. Your tone went from soft to even softer as you looked down at someone. Jungkook remembered you mentioning the name a lot around him but he knew it wasn't one of your friends. All of your friends had french snotty names which were one of the reasons he never wanted to meet them, that and he couldn't risk them knowing who he was and blabbing it to the press that he was in Paris with a girl.
"Areum, how was your day?!" Grace asked politely and a small girl came out from one of the bookshelves dressed in a Princess dress twirling around and waving a wand in the air, Jungkook's mouth fell open as his eyes landed on the small girl. Her hair was long to the lower of her back it was curled at the ends and she had the biggest smiles he'd ever seen on her face as she twirled around and around in one spot.
As he finally got a good look at her his heart sank to the floor as he realised she was the spitting image of him, she had his smile, his eyes and hair colour even the little dimple that he had on his left cheek. He stumbled into a metal table knocking it over and knocking the sign to the shop over, you laughed looking up to see which drunken idiot had knocked it over this time but the smile faded from your lips as soon as you locked eyes with him outside of the window. Your heart began to pound as you stared at one another, your mouth falling into an 'O' shape the longer you watched him. Part of you was praying it was just your eyes playing tricks on you.
"Y/n?" Everyone was in the background as you stared at Jungkook through the window swallowing the huge lump in your throat. No one else in the room mattered now that your eyes were on him. Grace followed your gaze wondering what the big deal was when she saw the same boy from before standing there. Both of you having a stare off as you looked at one another through the giant window.
"He was outside earlier! I told you he was a creep, I'll ring the police." You shook your head rapidly, taking her hand away from the shop phone and telling her to take Areum up the staircase instead. Grace nodded rushing your very confused daughter up the stairs in the back of the shop while Jungkook made his way into the shop, red in the face as he looked at the small girl. All of the dots in his head connecting to get a different image but one still remained as he watched the small girl. Her eyes locking with his as it hit him,
"Y/n...Is she mine?"

» He, him, his «
Jungkook was, how you say, a dick. A dick you despised and wanted unquestionably nothing to do with. And yes, you did always hate him, without reason, but hated from the beginning nonetheless.
It all began when you moved into the accommodation for college, your mom helped you unpack then kissed you goodbye, and everything was fine— for five minutes.
Dickwad, also known as, Dickhead and maybe sometimes, douchebag, sauntered into the flat with music blaring out of his, lovely friends’, speaker.
Lovely friend, aka Park Jimin, is, and always will be, an absolute darling you doted on without fail.
Anyways, when Jungkook stepped into the flat as if he owned the damn place, the first thing he did was throw a wink your way and then proceed to claim his bedroom— the very bedroom you claimed first.
Obviously, it was an absolutely ridiculous point to bicker over, but you’d lost it as soon as he called you babe, followed by a prissy princess, to end his absurd argument.
You were absolutely fuming by this point, and the heavy music resonating throughout the flat gave you the biggest headache you’d ever experienced in all the years you’d been alive.
That was when you wordlessly declared your hatred for him. When you decided you were going to make his life a living hell, and when you decided you were going to store lego in his room— just so he could undergo the pain you had to go through.
It wasn’t even good music.
Ever since then, you’ve never liked Jungkook, never wanted anything to do with him and cursed him in your dreams every night— which didn’t seem to work, you definitely needed to purchase a voodoo doll.
» His Friday night «
A yawn parted your lips as you zoned in and out, you were currently attempting to do your homework, but Jungkook— the devils incarnate— was being as loud and intolerable as usual.
He had been on the phone to one of his friends, talking about a party he absolutely had to go to. But it wasn’t unusual, Jungkook made it his priority to go out partying every Friday night, more so, to end up in someone's bed.
The thought itself had you shaking your head in distaste— like a mother disapproving her sons' grades or overall behaviour.
It had a sigh leaving your lips.
Jungkook stepped out of his room in all black: black jeans, black t-shirt, black leather jacket, and to finish off the look, a black cap.
You would be lying if you said he didn’t look good, but that was something that would never leave your lips. He didn’t deserve to know. You cursed yourself for even thinking it.
“I take it you’ll be stuck inside studying like the nerd you are,” Jungkook snorted.
There was a horrible, eye-wrenching smirk on his awful face. Who did this thing think he was?
“At least I’m not sleeping around and giving people aids.”
He jeered in return, a scowl on his face while he pierced into your soul, and presumably, set it alight.
God, you were infuriating.
Jungkook left that night without another word, he didn’t have time to sit and argue with you— which you were extremely thankful for because you were far too stressed to even think about him.
Another sigh broke your lips as your focus fell back on to your textbook. You were failing one of your classes— a class you needed to pass in order to complete the year, however, you didn’t understand anything your lecture taught you.
And what annoyed you, even more, was that Jeon Jungkook, who didn’t attend any of the classes, was passing with flying colours. If anything, your nightly curses were probably backfiring on to you.
You groaned. Life was not being fair. Not at all.
» His banana milk «
Jungkook was annoyed, more than that, he was angry and about to throw the biggest fit at the age of 21.
Yes, it’d really come to this.
His banana milk was missing, no matter how many times he checked the fridge, it wasn’t there. He bought that with his own money.
You stepped out of your bedroom, a chewed up straw perched in your mouth as you continued to scroll through your phone.
All the studying made you feel a bit peckish.
But you couldn’t exactly reach the fridge, or even step into the kitchen, since Jungkook was blocking the way with his oversized muscles.
He took the straw out of your mouth, thoroughly examining it before glaring into your eyes with his fiery red ones— yes, they were actually red. It’s not an exaggeration.
“Can I help you?” You asked in a monotone.
He grumbled under his breath, tossing the straw aside and crossing his arms over his chest.
“Did you drink all of my banana milk?”
Jungkook was never angry, he was bothersome and got annoyed but never angry. Or you just hadn’t experienced his wrath until now.
“Who gave you permission to touch what’s mine?” He continued, his voice getting deeper.
“Why are you getting so worked up over banana milk?”
“Because!” He shouted making you flinch. “Banana milk is the only thing I look forward to every single day. Don’t touch what’s yours.”
Your eyes were wide in shock, he wasn’t the most intimidating guy— not with his bunny smile, but after seeing his true form of red eyes and devil horns, you decided never to touch his banana milk again.
You even bought you a new pack the next day.
» His mess «
There were empty cans everywhere you looked, empty packets of snacks, dirty dishes, as well as, unwashed laundry, and it all belonged to the one and only Jeon Jungkook.
The amount of mess he made was actually insane, there was no one in this world who was as messy or messier than him. It inflicted you with endless headaches and made you feel sick, how could someone live like this?
A lengthy sigh left your lips, it had been a long day at uni, plus you still weren’t passing your failing class, so all in all, it wasn’t going well. And to make matters worse, the flat was a mess.
Thanks, dickhead. I hope you choke on your banana milk, you grumbled.
If there was another place to stay, somewhere you could move to, or someone else you could live with, you would move out in a heartbeat— without so much as a second thought.
But no, luck wasn’t on your side like that.
“You know when you invited me over, I didn’t think it was to help you tidy up,” sassed Jinyoung.
You rolled your eyes at his comment before throwing a dirty sock in his direction. He was utterly appalled and deeply insulted that you’d done that, but you were too busy laughing at him to care.
Jinyoung was your best friend, you’d known him since the beginning of high school, he’d always been there for you, you knew everything about it him, and he knew everything about you— including your satanic shrine set-up to get rid of Jungkook.
He was about to retaliate and launch Jungkooks boxers at you when the front door swung open. Both of you watched Jungkook throw his bag aside before strolling into his room, he didn’t even notice you were there.
“I mean, my couch is always free.”
You snorted at Jinyoungs effort to make you feel better, “you’re so annoying.”
There was a smug expression on your best friends face, his remark successfully annoyed you and he felt great— even though, he truly meant what he said.
You were always more than welcome to stay with him, and you knew that.
Jinyoung helped you tidy up, leaving the pile of unwashed laundry to decay in front of Jungkooks’ door. He would step over them and ignore they were there, you’d seen him do it before, but there was no way in hell you’d do laundry for him.
Cleaning up empty cans and packets was enough.
“Next time, we should dump all the trash on his bed,” Jinyoung remarked before making himself comfortable on your bed.
A laugh split your lips as you handed him his ice cream, “he would either sleep with it or let it rot on the floor.”
“Have you ever been inside his room?”
“No.”
“Aren’t you curious?”
“Not really...”
Jinyoung hummed in response, now focused on his ice cream instead. He didn’t question you further, because maybe he knew you were just a little, tiny bit, curious to see how it looked.
After minutes of silence and simply appreciating your ice creams, the both of you lay on your bed, doing nothing except staring at the ceiling, saying nothing besides listening to each other’s breathing.
It was peaceful, the nice kind of peace that wasn’t heavy or boring. These kinds of moments with Jinyoung were your favourite, the kind where you could bask in each other’s company without having to say a single word.
You rolled over to face your best friend, his eyes were fixed on the ceiling fan, following the way it twirled endlessly. He was a handsome boy, he was a sassy boy, and he was also a very kind boy, but he was single.
And you sometimes spent hours thinking about why.
“Jinyoung, will you ever get into a relationship?” You asked with sheer curiosity.
His eyebrows furrowed together and the expression of distaste won over his content features, it was quite amusing to watch if you were honest.
He always made the funniest faces without meaning to be funny.
“Does it look like I want to waste my precious time trying to please another human when the only one I need to please is myself?”
Jinyoung could’ve ranted for hours, he could have gone on and on and on about how he doesn’t need anyone. Which is why you changed the subject and spoke about how heavy Yugyeom snored throughout the last lecture.
It had the two of you laughing aloud, bringing tears to the eyes as you both proceeded to simultaneously list the funniest things that have happened.
Being with Jinyoung was better than a lot of things.
“Oh my gosh, did I tell you when Jungkook got angry at me for drinking all his banana milk?” You wheezed.
Jinyoung snorted and burst out laughing, shocked at your roommates' behaviour over milk— and it being banana flavoured.
“Why don’t you threaten to drink all his milk if he doesn’t clean up after himself?”
You quirked an eyebrow at his suggestion, that didn’t seem like a bad idea at all, you thought to yourself. After spending hours on end with Jinyoung, you finally said goodbye to him after telling him to text you when he got home.
Jungkook stepped out of his room when he heard the last goodbye, faltering over the pile of dirty clothes in front of his door, he complained to himself while continuing towards the fridge.
Banana milk!
Silently, with an evil grin on your lips, you trailed behind him, “Jungkook,” you called making him flinch over how close and loud you were. “You gotta start cleaning up after yourself. You’re disgusting.”
He sneered, piercing the carton with his straw, “and if I don’t?”
“If you don’t, I’ll drink all your banana milk.”
There was genuine panic in Jungkooks eyes that night.
» His hoodies «
A yawn broke your lips, eyes drooping at the sound of your lecturers' boring voice. She seemed to go on and on and on about who knows what?
This was the class you were failing, there was no time for you to be falling asleep, but you couldn’t help it, she was so dull and it was hard to concentrate.
Jinyoung who was seated next to you was too busy throwing paper balls at a fast asleep Yugyeom, he didn’t care about this class either, but he was failing like you.
You huffed to yourself, resting your chin on your hand which was hidden under your sleeve. Well, it wasn’t your sleeve per se, it wasn’t your hoodie to begin with.
It was Jungkooks’. His loss though, right?
Okay, so maybe, just maybe, you stole it, but he hadn’t noticed yet, it’d been three days and he hadn’t even asked if you’d seen it anywhere.
Therefore, no harm is done.
“I gotta ask again,” Jinyoung whispered while rolling another paper ball. “Why did you steal his hoodie if you want absolutely nothing to do with him?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” you retaliated in a loud enough whisper.
Jinyoung snorted, throwing another ball at his friend.
What you didn’t notice, and your best friend did, was the way Jungkook had been staring at you, attempting to figure out where he’d seen the hoodie you were wearing.
Good thing he wasn’t that smart, Jinyoung shook his head before focusing on packing his things and leaving the lecture hall with you in tow.
➴➶➴➶
You were humming a tune to yourself in the kitchen while preparing a sandwich, something light to munch on while you studied— or at least tried to.
Jungkook came behind you, glancing over your shoulder to see what you were doing before ‘accidentally’ knocking your elbow.
“Oh! Sorry,” he exaggerated when he heard you gasp. “I didn’t see you there.”
A scowl crossed your features when the words left his lips, he was so, so, so, irritating. You hated him, you hated him, you really really hated him.
“You did that on purpose,” it was a swift argument back. “You’re such a dick.”
Jungkook snorted, standing tall with his eyes piercing down into yours, “always bringing my dick into any situation you can, aren’t you?” He tsk’d. “I’m not the one going around steal other people’s belongings.”
“What—“
“First my banana milk and now my clothes. What next, hm? I bet you would’ve stolen my virginity too if I was still a virgin.”
God, he was so infuriating.
“As if I would ever have sex with you.”
Jungkook leant in, bringing his face level to yours, his lips merely inches away, eyes staring darkly into yours and his warm breath melting into your skin.
He was so close. Too close.
“Liars go to hell, princess.”
You gulped. There was a definite glint you’d never seen in his eyes before— in anyone’s eyes. It wasn’t scary but it made you feel something you’d not felt in a long time.
Arousal.
“I’ll let you keep this hoodie since it looks good on you,” he spoke up again, but his voice was still low and very deep. “However, if I notice you take something else, I won’t let you off so easily.”
He left you with an unfamiliar and wet warmth that night.
» His revenge «
A loud groan parted your lips, the thought of studying for another hour was hurting your head. Three hours had to be enough, for now, right?
You turned to glance at your alarm clock which sat on your bedside table, next to your phone that had been buzzing constantly for the past half an hour. Jinyoung.
It was 8:33pm. A good time as any for a snack.
After stretching your very rigid muscles, you bounced off your chair and happily made way to the kitchen. Jungkook was in his room, probably wanking off or something, so he couldn’t bother you right now.
Not even the horrible weather could put you in a bad mood.
However, however, however, you couldn’t find your snacks anywhere. They were normally kept in a box on the bottom shelf in an empty cupboard, but that box, which was on the bottom shelf, was empty.
There was nothing inside it, and there definitely should’ve been because you bought so many new snacks the night before.
Honestly, you could’ve cried. Feeling irritation, anger, as well as, sadness, you stormed towards Jungkooks room and pounded on the door, ignoring the warning sign taped on the wood.
“Jungkook!” You whined. “I never touched your banana milk again, why did you steal all my snacks?! How could you?”
There was a genuine sad pout on your face when he swung the door open, he would’ve felt bad if it were someone else, but it was you, and you hated him, so why should he feel any sympathy towards you?
“You can always buy more tomorrow,” he told you.
“I can’t afford to,” you fought, not with anger, but sadness. “Those snacks were supposed to last me two weeks, you ate them all in one night.”
Jungkook shrugged.
“It’s just a bit selfish, isn’t it?”
You’d mumbled it quietly, not really wanting him to hear, but he’d heard and he tried so hard not to feel guilty.
After stammering an apology for bothering him, you gradually progressed towards your room, leaving Jungkook to think about what he’d done.
» His punishment «
You were extremely annoying, continually having something to say back to him, always bickering with him, and calling him names, but never, not once, did you ignore him.
Over the months of living together, he figured out you hated him, but you didn’t pretend he didn’t exist, you didn’t ignore his presence, no. You bothered him and cursed him out and made sure his life was living hell.
Of course, Jungkook was extremely annoyed at you for being so irritating, but he enjoyed the bickering. Albeit he’d never tell you.
He groaned at another failed attempt at getting your attention. You were sitting on the floor trying to do your homework, head resting on the coffee table, doing your utmost best to ignore the monster behind you.
Jungkook genuinely wanted you to bicker back with him, although he didn’t really know why he wanted your attention, he just knew he wanted something.
“Y/n,” he whined, foot nudging your thigh closest to him. “Please argue back with me.”
Ignoring him was harder than you thought, you were so used to instantaneously throwing an insult back that you had to mentally tape your mouth shut.
Jungkook gave up that night, it was no use. He was basically talking to a brick wall. Leaving you study by yourself, he left with an exhalation.
You watched him with a triumphant smile, but you felt as though you missed out on something.
» His turn «
It was raining, but you couldn’t hear the pitter patter like you normally could. There was a movie playing on your computer, but you couldn’t hear the dialogue like you should’ve been able to.
All because of Jeon Jungkook and his stupid loud, extremely bad music.
A groan withdrew from your lips (which you couldn’t even hear) as you let yourself drop back into your pillows. If you weren’t still ignoring him or at least trying to, you would’ve body-slammed him out of the window.
You must’ve done something awful in your past life if you were being forced to live like this now, you uttered to yourself as you stormed towards his room.
Jungkook was overdue a long list of insults.
There was no point in banging on his door since he wouldn’t be able to hear you, you couldn’t even hear yourself breathe. So, for the first time since living with him, you barged in.
Wrong move...
He was in nothing but his boxers, sure he wasn’t naked, but he wasn’t exactly fully clothed either.
The sight in front of you, however, wasn’t a disturbing one. The way his back was propped on his headboard, the way his eyes focused on his comic book, the way his head bopped to the song, it was all notably attractive... for some reason.
Jungkook glanced up and saw you staring at him in shock, a smirk would’ve propelled its way to his lips, but he was annoyed that you’d been ignoring him, more so, that you barged into his room without knocking— he would never do that to you.
Turning down the volume, he sat up, “can I help you?”
You swallowed at the hoarse sound of his voice, what was going on with you right now? Why was he suddenly so attractive? Wait, was he always this good-looking?
“Your music is too loud,” you mumbled.
Jungkook rolled his eyes and paused the song before getting off his bed, and advancing towards you with a glare on his face.
He stared down at you, arms crossed, “it’s off, you happy now?”
You nodded your head, eyes gazing intensely into his. If he wasn’t so bothersome, if he didn’t aggravate you and if you didn’t despise him. You were 100% certain you would’ve fallen in love with him.
Jungkook snorted at the expression on your face, his features softening as he tousled your hair before gently closing the door.
There was a funny feeling in your chest when you went to sleep that night, followed by a funny feeling in your chest when you woke the next morning.
There was a basket of snacks perched neatly in front of your door, a note hidden beneath a box of chocolates, Jungkook was seriously out for your heart.
» 2 drunks, 1 mistake «
It wasn’t unlike you to give up studying, but it was unlike you to say yes to a party Jinyoung wanted to go to with you. He was surprised you’d given in so easily, but, over the moon, he didn’t need to beg you.
“Are you planning on getting wasted?” Jinyoung snorted as he observed you tan another drink.
He raised an eyebrow, watching you shake your head in distaste to the strong taste. Alcohol wasn’t your favourite, but it did its bit to encourage you to have fun.
You gradually began to let yourself go as the drink within you gave you a step of confidence. Jinyoung watched you dance in amusement, plastic red cup in one hand while his other held his phone, recording you at that moment.
A smile presented a way to your lips when you twisted around and spotted his phone. The flash gave away the fact he was recording, maybe on snapchat to post on his story, maybe something to laugh about the next day; whatever it was, you didn’t care.
“Jinyoung, dance with me,” you urged, motioning for him to join you with your hand.
He shook his head, not because he didn’t want to dance, but because he wasn’t drunk enough to deal with you right now. However, he was enjoying the sight of you completely losing yourself and finally, after a long time, giving in to have fun.
Jungkook was on the other side of the room, drunk himself, seeing you have fun without him. It didn’t take long for him to muster up the courage to approach you, not when the alcohol was giving him a helping hand.
“Y/n,” he cheered, gaining your attention. “Let’s dance!”
Without so much as a second thought, you began dancing with him. Eyes wavy and mind hazy, the night went on with Jungkook by your side.
It wasn’t until your back hit the cold wall, you felt Jungkooks’ warm hands wander your body. His lips were on your neck, wet and slick, your hands were pulling his hair, urging him to go faster, to hurry up and stop teasing you.
“Jungkook,” you moaned earning a growl in return.
He stopped his ministrations on your neck, and led you towards his room, pushing you to lay on the bed while he stripped out of his t-shirt, threw his jeans aside and then crawled towards you.
Jungkook kissed you slowly but intoxicatingly, his hand moved down your form and glid under your dress, exploring and touching everywhere except where you needed him to touch you.
“Jungkook,” you muttered against his lips. “Please stop teasing me.”
His eyes were dark and glazed as he stared into yours with so much lust, want and need. An exhalation escaped your lips when he connected his lips back to your neck, hand slipping into your pants, taunting your clit.
You heaved at the ministration, writhing beneath him, silently asking for more. For anything, for something. He removed his hand, pulling your dress up along with his hand that progressed towards the back, reaching for the zip.
“Take it off,” he whispered in your ear in a low growl. “Let me see you.”
Your breathing got heavier as you watched him sit up, allowing you to move and take off your uncomfortable dress. Just like that, in slow and precise movements, the dress slipped off and hit the floor.
The alcohol from earlier was still evidently in your system, otherwise, you would have never crawled towards Jungkook and drawn him for an intoxicating and needy kiss.
Jungkook pushed you to lie down again,  so he was on top, so he could assert dominance and let you know that he was in charge and always will be.
It didn’t bother you, not when he knew what he was doing; when he was so confident in the way his hand wandered down your body, towards your heat.
Another moan parted your lips, music to Jungkooks ear. He decided there and then, after hearing you call out his name breathlessly into the night, that it would be his favourite sound.
“I bet you thought you about me every night,” he muttered in a deep, drunken, voice.
You could only nod your head, afraid that your words would get stuck in your throat due to the pleasure he was causing you.
There was no uncertainty in Jungkooks’ movements when he slipped a finger and then another into your heat, he revelled in your moans and whines, urging you to get louder the faster he pumped his digits in and out.
His free hand played with your breast, his lips nipping the skin, forcing you to squirm under his ministrations, it felt so good— amazing even, but you wanted more, needed more.
“Jungkook,” you gasped out, pulling at his hair to gain his attention. “Please, just fuck me already.”
There was a smirk on his face, a glint in his eyes as if he’d been anticipating for you to say those words. As much as he loved teasing you to no extent, he needed to feel you, to be inside you just the way he dreamt about.
He didn’t hesitate to pull off his boxers, to yank your pants down your legs, to line himself off and without a single warning, push himself deep inside.
Jungkook left you feeling breathless that night, he had you coming undone more than once and he left you feeling fully satisfied as he came deep inside.
No other words were exchanged when he drew you into his chest and lulled you to sleep with beating heart and warm body.
» The aftermath «
The next morning you woke up sweating, you had a sore head and felt sick to your stomach, forcing yourself out of bed and rushing to the closest bathroom. You heaved but nothing came out as your head hung in the toilet and your naked form sat on the cold tiled floor.
The night before was all a haze, and trying to remember what happened while sitting next to the toilet wasn’t a good idea. However, it all hit you when you stepped out of the bathroom; into the room that wasn’t yours.
You felt yourself break into a cold sweat, your eyes scanning the room before settling on a familiar face— another body just as naked as yours.
The sick feeling hurried back, but it wasn’t because of the alcohol, no, this time it was regret and the fear of allowing yourself to become another girl on Jungkooks list.
What had you done?
➴➶➴➶
Jungkook went on as if everything was normal; as if nothing had happened. But you couldn’t bring yourself to do so, not when you were sinking in newly developed feelings for the male who didn’t believe in commitment.
An agitated sigh parted your lips, you couldn’t sleep, not when the drunken night with Jungkook played on loop whenever you closed your eyes. Fortunately, Jinyoung was nice enough to let you stay the night at his, but you couldn’t stay here forever.
“Are you ever going to speak to him about this?” Jinyoung inquired, examining the dark circles under your eyes from no sleep.
There was a frown on your face when you turned to look at your best friend, “how can I?” You disputed. “He’s acting as if nothing happened, Jinyoung. You don’t understand, Jungkook doesn’t do relationships.”
“Ignore him then.”
A scoff left your lips, that was easier said than done you thought.
“I can’t,” you told him, eyes cast aside.
“Then confess.”
This time you met his intense and challenging gaze, “just because I know that Jungkook likes to drink banana milk after uni, or that he likes to eat cereal at 3am after gaming because he feels peckish, doesn’t mean I like him,” you were out of breath, heart racing as you spoke.
Jinyoung snickered in return. You gulped.
» The regret «
It was pouring while you waited for your roommate to get home. After speaking to Jinyoung, you decided he was right and you couldn’t keep pretending that you were okay.
The front door slammed shut, interrupting you from your thoughts. Jungkook kicked off his shoes and threw his soaked jacket aside. His hair was wet, and there was a frown on his face, but he looked as cute as ever.
He didn’t notice you were back home, not until you stood up and muttered his name. His eyes widened at the sight before him, you’d left without a single word and came back three days later as if it was a reasonable thing to do.
“Where have you been?” He demanded.
Jungkook was angry.
“I stayed over at Jinyoungs.”
He shook his head in disapproval before running a hand through his dripping hair. The feeling still lingered in your own hand from that night as you watched his movements.
“And you didn’t bother to tell me because?”
You licked your lips, eyes meeting his dark ones, “I’ve never had to tell you before,” you fought. “Why does it matter now?”
“You’ve never been gone for three days.”
His tone was getting louder, angrier and more irritated. But you were becoming angry too; who did he think was? Especially acting as if nothing had happened between you two.
“You’re not my boyfriend, Jungkook. I don’t need to tell you anything, it’s not like I expect you to tell me when you’ll be home after a night out,” you said, eyes gazing intensely into his. “Now let me ask you something, is it fun to act like everything between us is normal? You know very well why I disappeared for days.”
Jungkook scoffed, arms crossed over his broad chest as if asserting dominance, “we had sex, so what? Everyone has drunk sex now and then.”
“I’m not everyone, you asshole!” You shouted. “I don’t go around having sex with every girl and guy I see. You’re the second person I’ve ever had sex with, I know it’s not a big deal to you but, it means a whole lot to me.”
Jungkook licked his lips.
“You wanted to have sex with me just as much as I did with you. Don’t blame all this on me.”
“I’m not! Don’t you get it? I’m in love with you!”
It came out before you could think twice about saying it, the words slipped out in anger, you really didn’t mean to say it. But now that it was out in the open, there was no point in taking it back, so you waited; waited for Jungkook to speak.
Instead, however, he uncrossed his arms and cast his eyes aside. Your heart dropped into your stomach and you felt sick, dizzy almost as you watched him hesitate.
“I’m sorry,” he said. “I don’t do relationships.”
» The awkwardness «
Jinyoung was trying his best to be there for you, you were struggling to pass the one class you hated and Jungkook was, well, avoiding you at all cost.
A yawn escaped your lips, it was becoming harder to keep your eyes open as minutes slowly turned into hours. If you decided to call it a night and go to sleep, you would never pass your exam.
At that moment, you really wanted to scream and cry. Shout at the world for not being on your side since the beginning of the school year, why was it so hard on you? What did you do wrong?
An exhausted cry left your lips while you slumped back in your seat. The words in the textbook stopped making sense hours ago, Jinyoung was no longer awake to help you and you had no one else to turn to.
Feeling extremely agitated, you closed the book and hurled it away from you, almost hitting Jungkook while doing so. He stared at the textbook by his feet and chuckled to himself before glancing at a very distraught you.
“Are you struggling that much?”
His voice was soft and somewhat comforting, but it was awkward and you couldn’t bring yourself to glance at him, so you hesitantly nodded your head instead.
There was a kind smile on his lips that you missed when he sat down next to you. Not too close because he didn’t want to make you uncomfortable, but close enough to help you.
“What do you need help with?” He urged placing the textbook back on the table.
You sighed in defeat, “everything.”
Without hesitation, Jungkook started from the beginning and helped simplify the text. He made it easier to understand, besides the awkward silences that took place in between, you began to understand what you once didn’t.
And thanks to Jungkook, you were confident when it was time to sit the exam. Safe to say, you finally passed the class you hated as much as you once hated your roommate.
Although it was still very awkward between you, Jungkook stopped avoiding you. He didn’t say much— not like he used to, but you didn’t make an effort either since you still had a lot on your mind.
Still, things were getting better.
» The silent reconciliation «
You were lying on the floor with the balcony door wide open, the cool air from outside wasn’t enough to stop you from over-heating as the sun beamed through the window.
The weather got nicer as the days passed by, summer vacation was just around the corner and you knew you would have nothing to do. So, you decided to mope around earlier rather than later, Jinyoung wasn’t too impressed when you told him.
“You’re not a cat,” he told you.
“You can’t do that all summer,” he said.
A shake in disagreement had him rolling his eyes and crossing his arms.
There were crumbs littered around you with empty packets of crisps and cans. A smile adorned your face as you watched the male lead finally kiss the female.
Jungkook entered the flat to you on the floor, surrounded by a mess and a grin on your face. The drama you were watching wasn’t even that good, he grimaced hearing one of the many cheesy lines.
He proceeded towards the fridge to get his banana milk before settling into the couch; to join you. To enjoy your company for once instead of locking himself in his room.
“How can you watch that without cringing?”
Jungkooks’ question made you laugh, you sat up to look at him and shrugged your shoulders. There was something about the way you smiled at him to the way you crawled towards him to sit on the couch.
Jungkook gulped.
He didn’t even notice you were wearing nothing but an oversized shirt— an old one that once belonged to him.
“It’s not too bad, you get used to it actually.”
Jungkook glimpsed at you from the side of his eye before focusing back on the tv. Your confession was still fresh in his mind, playing like a broken record over and over again.
You never mentioned it again, mainly because he avoided you for like a week and you found it too awkward to talk to him. But things seemed to be okay now, he thought.
“What do you like to watch anyway?” You asked, shifting to look at him.
Jungkook was surprised by your question, but thinking about it, neither of you knew anything about the other.
“Iron man,” he told you.
A laugh parted your lips at his response, the way he said it with such an innocent face made him look like a child. It was cute.
Silence took place once your focus was back on the tv, there was nothing much to say or talk about. You’d never spent time like this together, although it was nice, it wasn’t normal.
You licked your lips, mind full of thoughts and such as you got off the couch. Perhaps, you still felt a little bit uncomfortable around him, not because he was sitting next to you, but because your confession was gnawing at your mind like a parasite.
“Where are you going?” Came his question.
It took a lot in you to turn around and stare at him, to make eye contact and to fake a smile. Fortunately, it didn’t take him long to catch on, to think about what he asked and awkwardly avoid eye contact.
“I’m sorry, Jungkook,” was your response. “It’s still a little bit difficult to be around you. I just need some time for things to go back to normal.”
What if I don’t want that, he thought to himself. What if he didn’t want things to go back to normal, what would you say then?
“But,” you added with a genuine smile this time. “I think I like this better— being friends instead of constantly bickering.”
Jungkooks’ smile in return was just as genuine.
» A new friend «
“UNO!”
Grumbling in irritation of possibly losing another round, you picked up 4 cards and then internally cried when you watched Jungkook throw down his last card.
There was a frown on your face when you threw your nine cards in his direction. When Jungkook suggested playing Uno you didn’t think you would lose every single game.
“I don’t want to play anymore,” you pouted.
That night Jungkook learnt you disliked losing.
➴➶➴➶
One hit. Two. Three more.
Six.
“Y/n, stop throwing popcorn at me and watch the damn movie,” he laughed when you hit him again.
There was a mischievous grin on your face, he wasn’t paying attention as his eyes were back on the tv. You took this as an opportunity to take a handful of popcorn and propel it at him, Jungkook shouted your name before chasing after you.
That night Jungkook learnt you got bored easily.
➴➶➴➶
You were in Jungkooks’ room, he had his last class today so he wasn’t home. Not yet, anyway. So, you took that as your chance to invade his closet for another hoodie, another black one.
When he got home you were still going through each hoodie, narrowing it down to three and then two and then choosing the one you liked best. Although all of them looked the same, there was a different comfort to each of them.
Jungkook had banana milk in his hand, straw in his mouth as he observed you from his doorway. There was a wide grin on his face while he watched you try the last one on.
“Are you seriously stealing my clothes again?”
You pursed your lips, preferring the last one you tried on better than any of the others and then smiled in triumph.
“At least it’s not your banana milk,” you teased before sliding off to your room.
That night Jungkook learnt you liked his hoodies better than your own.
➴➶➴➶
You lay your head on Jungkooks’ shoulder, a yawn broke your lips as you attempted to stay awake. It had been a long day, and you were exhausted.
Especially since Jungkooks’ loud friend had woken you up so early, Namjoon was his name you think, or was it Taehyung? You couldn’t quite remember.
It didn’t matter though, you would be in your bed soon, you just needed to wait for Jungkook; he wanted to say bye to his friends before leaving the party youse were currently at.
However, they were nowhere to be seen.
“Jungkook,” you muttered earning his attention. “I’ll head home, you can stay a little longer and hang out with your friends.”
His eyebrows furrowed in thought, “are you sure?”
“Of course!”
There was a smile on your face, a genuine one at that, but you did feel a little sad that you two weren’t walking back home together. No matter, you’d see him the next morning considering you lived together. Duh.
Jungkook watched you stand up and stretch your arms, he missed your warmth already. He let you gather your things, sliding on your jacket before reaching for your bag.
Luckily, it wasn’t a big party and just a friendly get together to celebrate the end of the school year. Well, one of many yet to come.
“I’ll give Jinyoung a call and talk to him on my walk home, that way it’ll feel like a faster walk,” you said before heading towards the door.
Jungkook hesitated for a second, glancing around in quick movements his friends really were nowhere to be seen at that moment, so he thought what the heck, and rushed after you.
You were surprised to see him, considering he was eager to say bye to his friends since they were going back home for summer break and he wasn’t.
“I promised you we would walk home together,” he explained before you could question him. “Let’s go.”
That night you learnt that either Jungkook kept his promises, or you meant a whole lot more to him than you thought.
» Euphoria «
There was a soft smile on your face, mind zoning in and out as your eyes slipped closed every few seconds before you opened them once again.
It was a nice evening, Jungkook thought as he admired you from his place on the love-seat. You were on the floor, leaning against the balcony railing, appreciating the view, savouring the nice weather and listening to the bustling city.
The idea of spending the rest of the evening on the balcony was your idea, Jungkook merely agreed because he had nothing better to do, except drink banana milk, and right now, spending time with you deemed sweeter.
There was a smile on lips as he appreciated your features from his seat. The setting sun, golden with soft hues of oranges, hit off your face perfectly making it seem as if you were glowing.
Jungkook felt his heart beating loudly in his chest, drumming in ears and spinning in his mind while he thought about you and your confession.
Was it too late to bring it up? Maybe, maybe not.
You turned around to face Jungkook, smiled wide and genuine before moving to stand in between his legs. He thought you were beautiful when you smiled without a reason; when you smiled at him and for him.
He thought you were most beautiful when you were yourself, not caring a single bit about what others thought of you.
“Jungkook, if you could have anything in the world, what would it be?”
It was an innocent question because you were genuinely curious to learn more about him, and get to know him better than you already did.
Jungkook stood up, eyes gazing down into yours.
“If I could have anything in the world, I would choose you.”
A gasp left your lips, you weren’t expecting that to be the answer. You thought he would speak about a dream job or a lifetime supply of banana milk. Not you.
He gently cupped your cheek with one hand while circling the other around your waist to draw you closer. You didn’t push him away, you didn’t stop him, no. Instead, you let him do as he pleased because, for the first time, you felt the racing of his heart.
“I don’t know if you still feel the same way about me, but I’m in love with you, y/n,” he confessed. “I know I told you that I don’t do relationships, but I’m willing to try and succeed with you, and... And I know I didn’t go by things the right way, and I’m really sorry, buh—but I’ll be better. I’ll do better... for you. Always.”
Without hesitation, without a single thought of reconsideration, you kissed him. You kissed him with tenderness and passion, you kissed him slowly and softly.
And he kissed back with just as much.
There was a soft smile on his lips when you parted, and for the first time, you saw genuine love and care in his eyes.
That was when you felt intense happiness.
“Of course, I love you, Jungkook,” you spoke softly but surely. “You’re my euphoria.”

Mappa never cared about SnK
I can’t believe it’s been 3+ months almost since the manga ended. Here’s a rant because I’m sick of seeing a lot of people on the internet defend mappa lol
Mappa never gave a shit about snk, their budget and best animation teams all went to JJK since that was the “hottest kid on the block” . SNK was just a cash grab and the black lamb of the group. Nobody wanted to animate SNK given the tight deadlines (they wanted part 1 to finish the same time as the manga)
With that CSM announcement it’s even more clear,, since CSM is expected to be the next BIG thing.
So stop praising mappa and shit, at their best they don’t light a candle to WIT’s worse, I’m tired of reading this kind of bullshit.
Everything about S4 was underwhelming
direction - every scene which was supposed to have an impact was so fucking underwhelming
animation - offmodel 95% of the time
color choices - bleak, weak shading
music - albeit the best of the worst, still underwhelming
This being said , even with the shit end the manga had, a good adaptation with good voice acting and great music (god I fucking miss Sawano) would’ve somewhat salvaged it.
After seeing the deviantArt tier “promo” for S4p2 I can safely assume Paths is going be shit and I just want Pathsren to be pretty <3
Also,Armin killed the whole manga, just fyi.
And no Isayama, no matter how much you humiliate him I will always like Eren.

Your smile at your phone remained soft as you looked over the long texts sent to you from Jeongguk. Steps went along in the quiet of the fluorescent campus, any sound was distant from other students wandering around campus in the later hours. You felt a bit better now that you’d discussed the troubles, and you were already thinking of a way to explain an apology to Seokjin. He was just looking out for you after all, especially with the added context of him witnessing your bad experiences throughout the year.
“Oh-” Your head perked at the junction of pathways, hearing an expression of surprised. Upon finding Jeongguk in person, his own phone in one hand while the other hand was settled into his jacket pocket. “The sad girl herself,” You pushed at his chest, only succeeding in making him giggle at you. “I’m kidding.”
“You’re right.” You admitted, pouting your phone away now that it served no further purpose to communicate with him. “Me and my sad girl problems.” You accentuated a comical look, because you didn’t want him to actually know you physically did appear quite sad less than an hour earlier.
“No problems anymore.” He said hopefully as you both continued along. His sandals clacked against the concrete. “At least not about Jin. You can’t fight with your best friend that long, especially because you’re both petty.” You huffed at his continued teasing, pouting more so as his elbow nudged your arm. “You’re feeling a little better though, right?” Truly concerned in his quiet voice.
“Much.” You assured him with a smile that reflected to him brightly from the overhead path lights. Jeongguk’s own lips curled at that. “Thank you again, Jeonggukie.”
“You’re intent about that nickname, huh?” He sighed, but it was through upturned lips.
“It’s cute.” You defended firmly. “Jeonggukie.”
“What am I supposed to call you then?”
“The greatest-”
“Rejected.” He laughed when you attempted to shove him off the pathway, not even managing to get him to stumble slightly. “Your twitter handle,” He pondered allowed and you were already worried, because that title was a complete joke to mock the one Jin’s was. “Gift card girl it is.”
“People are going to think I hand them out. I want gift cards.” You clarified to him with an assured nod. He chuckled, looking beyond you as he noticed some random couple giggling loudly among themselves as they went off in some opposite direction to wherever. You looked as well as they grew considerably louder. “Too much.”
“Way too much.” Jeongguk nodded, and you both continued along in silence then. Not awkwardly, not hurriedly, just quietly. “Did you want to go out with Yoongi over the summer?”
“What?” You looked at him in confusion before you were able to recall the almost date from Taehyung. “Oh,” You laughed shortly, hunching your shoulders with the growing breeze. “Not particularly. I think Taehyung just felt bad about me being so busy. I had finished helping him with a little summer project he had for a class when he made the offer.” You shrugged, “I never said all too much to Yoongi though. Even now I only know him through you-- well, and Namjoon I guess.”
“I see,” Jeongguk’s statement drifted. What was he trying to search for in the question anyways. If you said yes it’s not like he would’ve wanted to try and help you get a date with Yoongi. “You and Namjoon seem pretty amicable even though you’re, I guess, rivals?”
“Yeah,” You smiled, humored by the description, “We’ve had classes together since our first semester. I respect his work a lot. Which sucks because I can’t ever actually be mad at him for beating me at things, because I know he’s just that talented.” You huffed, “He really likes screenwriting, but he’s so all around about the field that it’s kind of overwhelming to compare sometimes.”
“Hey,” Jeongguk leaned his head downwards to catch your attention from your raising uncertain tone. “You’re that talented too.”
You looked at him with an unbelieving frown, but it was nice to hear. Always something reassuring to say to you. “Thanks.”
“Do I need to remind you every day of that and to eat?”
“No,” You rubbed your face to hide the embarrassment, “Oh god, I really always rant to you, don’t I?” Jeongguk shook his head,
“Y/N-- oh,” He thought for a moment then snapped his fingers in remembrance, “Gift card girl-” At your eruption of laughter Jeongguk paused, if only to take a moment to observe the genuine happiness in your expression. “We have more fun than just complaining to each other about our lives. Like how you tell me once a day about the Mario Kart tournament.”
“That I’ll beat you at.” You nodded, stifling a smile at his rolling eyes.
“You really haven’t beat me once though-” You groaned turning on your heel to speed away from him, to which he easily followed by just larger extensions of his steps. “It’s a nice dream though, Y/N, something to work towards for your lifetime-”

Closed Distance - jjk
You appreciated him, so much, Jungkook was someone to rely on, trust, someone to love. If he got a dollar each time he heard you say “I love you”, Jungkook would’ve been a millionaire a long time ago. Yet, there always was that burden of physically not being next to each other. That feeling of loving but also not having their hand to hold, torso to hug or lips to kiss. Having, but also not having someone.
That was exactly why a white plane ticket rested between the grip of your fingers.

Your eyes skimmed over the small colorful circular object above your TV. Two dark lines were positioned near each other as the third one, slightly thinner than others, ticked closer and closer towards its companions. Previously during the day, you made sure to check at least twelve times that the calculations you made were correct and ready. It took more time than you liked to admit to calculate the time difference and moment of calling you’ll be doing.
Currently, it was two minutes before midnight in a country that was a couple of hours ahead of you. Waiting patiently, with a phone in hand, you watched as that same thin line moved near the end of it’s journey, after which it’ll begin a new one. Seconds, minutes passed by like that and your mind was more than welcoming to home thoughts of your boyfriend inside.
Jeon Jungkook, was a soon to be twenty-one-year-old boy that you met three years ago over an online game. Although you were only starting, Jungkook handled your inexperience well when the two of you were paired up as a team. He would explain things quick and well, occasionally sending healing packs when he noticed the hp of your character was low. Shortly after, with a lot of help from Jungkook, your now “battling buddy”, you were climbing up the charting board, joking how “you’re going to beat him if this continues”.
As time passed by, the two of you moved from gaming to social media and eventually, phone numbers. You’d face-time or send messages, trying hard to sneak pass the time difference and work/school hours. Whether it was an hour-long rant while you complained about people who made you feel uncomfortable, which he would gladly listen to, or a ten minute catch up, both of you enjoyed the calls. Jungkook was an extremely caring person, a friend which never missed sending a goodnight or good morning message, sometimes even delivering encouraging texts to boost your day.
Eventually, you started to date. Long-distance, as teenagers today would say. Something that should’ve made you feel special, when in reality, it was only a simple label on what the two of you already were.
Your phone buzzed, reminding you that midnight has indeed struck in South Korea. Fingers moving in such rapid pace, they tenderly pressed on the call button, watching as the screen displayed a picture of a perfect human being.
“Hello? Y/N?” Jungkook replied, voice raspy and slow. He was most probably awoken from a deep sleep, considering that this week it was his turn to work the afternoon shift. The way your name left his lips in such tone, was tantalizing. You imagined his fluffy hair, closed eyes and puffy cheeks, body wrapped into a blanket, representing the whole sight as a human burrito.
“Happy birthday, sleepyhead” You chimed in, speaking low and just as slow, fearing that if somehow changed, it would ruin the moment and scare him. Jungkook smiled and although you couldn’t see it, you could feel it through his next words.
“Well thank you, what time is it?” Jungkook asked, more for himself. Before he could distance the small device from his ears, you already gave an answer. It was late, he probably arrived home two hours ago and although you wished to speak for another hour, you were ready hang up if he asked.
“Midnight for you” Jungkook sighed, shuffling on the bed while turning on his back. Checking the small analog clock on his brown bedside table and watching it pass from 00:01 to 00:02, he smiled. You really called at midnight. Noticing the silence that soon spread throughout the line, you asked if he was still awake to which your boyfriend only hummed along. It wouldn’t be humane to keep him awake for much longer.
“I have a gift for you” you began, listening to the calming breaths and what seemed the noise of heavy raindrops hitting a window. It was raining in Seoul, creating an amazing atmosphere for a nap or heavy sleep. Jungkook made a sound similar to a whine, probably curious but at the same time unsatisfied that you’d spend money on him. Looking at the paper in your hand and calculating the time of travelling to Jungkook’s doorstep, you continued, “It should arrive around 8am to your doorstep, sorry that it’s so early”. To your remark, he laughed, anticipation bubbling inside his chest.
“I’ll leave you to rest now, goodnight Jungoo”, “Goodnight, my love”.

Your flight went extremely well, considering this was the first time traveling alone, your experience was beyond great. No screaming kids, scary metalheads or boring elders who need a victim to choke with stories about their grandchildren. Well maybe you were slightly stereotyping.
As of right now, it was 7:27 and you patiently waited in a café across Jungkook’s apartment building, sipping on your favorite beverage. People have only now started to fill up the streets, entering random cafés, picking up coffee and a quick breakfast then leaving. Cars packed the streets, creating colorful lines, snakes that moved every now and then in a desired direction. You wondered, was Seoul always this packed?
7:50, you stood up, paying for the drink and getting ready for a surprise. Decorative metal cylinders began hitting against each other while the door ruined their perfect state of balance, creating an unexpected melody as you left.
7:56, there you were, on the 6th floor, trying not to let your lungs burst from the huge amounts of oxygen you gaped for. Apartment 602 under which laid a small plaque with cursive Jeon written on it.
You couldn’t believe it, after three years of friendship and a year of dating; after numerous I love you’s spoken in the air, imaginary hugs and hand holds. After all these tormenting emotions, you’ll finally be able to feel them. Feel his hands as they wrap around you, lips as they place on yours and warmth that’ll radiate between the two bodies.
8:00, you knocked. Hurried steps were heard somewhere on the other side, then a faint “fuck” followed by a thump. Trying to suppress the incoming laugh, you put a hand over your mouth. The anticipation of this moment finally happening was intriguing but also terrifying.
Once the door opened, it felt like time stopped. Not because you could move, it was obviously possible, but none of you did. Jungkook stood with an unreadable expression on his face, eyes slowly becoming glassy while his hand gripped the handle tighter. Knuckles on his right hand became white like paper, but your observations of it were swift, attention once again back on the beautiful face of your boyfriend.
With caution, his hand moved from the handle, only to be put on your shoulder. Both of you remained silent, staring into each other’s eyes, trying to make sure that the other person really was there. That this wasn’t one of the often-occurring lucid dreams.
Then, with such force that would’ve hurt if you landed on any other surface, Jungkook pulled you towards him, hands wrapping around the soft being in a quick manner. Out of instinct, you did the same, drawing Jungkook in as tight as viable. Suddenly, the shoulder of your shirt began to damped and only then was it noticable that the tender boy, currently in your embrace, began tearing up. Pulling him in even closer you began to rock back and forth, creating a steady rhythm.
“Hey, cheer up, I’m here now?” You smiled, ending the sentence in a slightly higher tone, attempting to tease and cheer your bunny boy up. Jungkook let out of a puff of air but smiled, nodding into your shoulder and detaching himself from the hug for a quick moment.
“I know but you’re, you’re really here now and I can’t comprehend that, it’s unreal” he replied, eyes watery but still locked with yours. It was a sure fact that Jeon Jungkook, Y/N’s one and only, adored her eyes. Actually, everything about you but, the safety and happiness your eyes radiated, only for him, made Jungkook get addicted easily.
“I’ll interpret that as you liking your gift” Smiling, you opened your arms once again, inviting the boy in once again. Walking into the cage with a wild heart, Jungkook cupped your face, gently rubbing his thumbs on the soft surface of smiley cheeks, before leaning in to kiss you. It was a slow, cute and full of emotions kiss. The first you two ever shared.
“I love the gift, I love you”, Jungkook said, leaning his forehead on yours, touching noses and just appreciating the beauty. He was so blessed to have someone like you, someone who made him feel loved, appreciated, happy. Who’d understand and offer reassurance in each and every moment. You too, could talk days on the topic of this man who owns your heart and not stop to take in a breath.
“And I my prince, love you too, more than I’ll ever be able to express”
AN: My heart is screaming because that last line is me @ Jungoo and I just love this baby boy so much it’s beyond the borders of description. Happy 21st (22nd) my dearest squishy, I appreciate you so much, for all the times you’ve made me happy and made my day better. For making me laugh and relaxing me with your voice whenever I was near a panic attack. Thank you. I wish you everything best, health, happiness, wealth, to always be satisfied with your work. I love you <3
