In 2023 one of the nicest and reveberating thing, that happened to me, was, that I got know Terry's work and after some time, your works too, and, of course Good Omens (yeah...I don't know either, what took me so long...😉).

So, thank you so much for your written universe, I feel totally comfortable in it!

Some time ago, I also got your rewriting of the fairytale "Hänsel and Gretel" by the Brothers Grimm in my hands. I totally like how you made it your own in some way, but also did not disregard its core about wits, endurance, gumption and love. And I have high standards😊, because I grew up with all the Grimm's fairytales and I, even as a small kid, disliked the editions, which tried to paint over fear, sorrow and in some tales, violence and horror, too. Without these plots the solution in the end would just be half the relìef! As you said in your review about Tatars The Annotaited Brothers Grimm the fairtyales are magic mirrors about the world we see or we want to see and which we have to cope and deal with every day.

My three favourite ones are

1.Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten/The Town Musicians of Bremen

Even if your closest people tell you, you are not enough (anymore), you don't fit in and you are worthless, you one day, will find your bunch of soulmates, who are good for you and you can the hell Rock'n Roll with!

2. Die sieben Raben/The seven Ravens

The girl does not wait for some Prince Charming. She herself gets stuff done and does not get herself haunted by some mistakes her parents did years ago.

3. Das tapfere Schneiderlein/The valiant dressmaker

Sometimes weird and spontanous decision can turn your whole life around, in a good way, because they give you the self-consciousness to get it on.

"gute nacht-" "what're you doing?" you heard maki's voice coming from behind you. turning your head you see come face to face with him before he asks again, "what's that?" he asked in reference of the paper you held.

"you're learning german!? why didn't you tell mee!" he exclaimed in excitement, sitting down next to you and looking at the piece of paper in your hand

you let out a breathy laugh before going back to pronouncing words you had written down. "is this one right? I just watched a couple of videos, but might've lied to me. wie heisst du, what's your name. right?"

"it's correct but informal, it's better to say wie heissen sie to be respectful."

he explains as your mouth begins to shape itself into an "O". "so if I didn't know you and wanted to ask for your name I'd ask you "wie heissen sie?" instead right?"

he gives you a nod, "it's more of a V sound than a W and S."

"wie heissen sie.. like that?" you try again, this time getting it right receiving a praise as validation. "ooh!! that was really good, is this really the first time you've tried to learn german?" he raises an eyebrow at you, suspicious at your claims. "how dare you question me! rede nicht mit mir (don't talk to me)."

"woww, using german to fight me now huh?" were his final words before tackling you into a hug.

"stop!" you both burst into laughter before he kisses your cheek and speak up, "Ich bin glücklich wenn du da bist (I feel happy when I'm with you.)"

It was a cold December day, the leaves were frozen off the trees and the floor was covered in snow. The park was in no condition to be played on, but children still went there to play with their friends in the snow. 

Draco and his son, Scorpius, were disliked by many. People were still wary of Draco because of all of the death eater and Voldemort drama, meaning that they passed that fear and hatred down to their children.

Scorpius had a hard time making friends, and to be honest, he didn’t have any which broke Draco’s heart. So, Draco brought him to the park everyday in hopes that someone would want to be friends with his son.

 Being a single dad was tough, Astoria had left for reasons unknown, she just left the moment Scorpius was born and left Draco with a son to raise on his own.

“Scorpius, look at me,” Draco told his son, who looked adorable bundled up in black and blue winter coats. “I want you to talk to some kids, don’t mention me, just talk to them,” Draco told his son, it was the same thing that he told Scorpius every time. 

Scorpius nodded very big and said, “Okay daddy!” before running off to go play in the snow. Draco smiled and sat down on a bench. 

While people walked by, Draco tried to smile at them but they just glared. He rolled his eyes slightly and leaned back into the bench with a huff. “I shouldn’t have been such a jerk,” he groaned and leaned back while covering his eyes, rubbing them slightly before removing his hands and putting them back in his lap. 

He looked over at all of the kids to see Scorpius trying really hard to make friends, that made Draco smile. He looked around a bit, taking in the scenery of the sunny but cold day. 

He then looked back over at the group of kids, but to his dismay, Scorpius wasn’t making friends anymore. Actually, Scorpius wasn’t there at all. 

Draco stood up and tried to look around to see if he could find Scorpius from a higher angle. “Scorpius?” he called out, there was nothing. Draco started to panic, “Scorpius?!” he shouted again. 

He frantically speed walked around the park, looking under everything, even pushing aside some snow in hopes that he would find his 5 year old son. 

While he was frantically walking around, he bumped into something. “Ah!” both people groaned as they stepped away. 

“Hey! Watch where you’re- Draco?” you stopped suddenly. Draco met your eyes, “Y/l/n?”. 

“Draco!” you exclaimed, “I haven’t seen you in forever!”. 

His heart thumped at your angelic voice. “Y-Yeah, me neither!” Draco mentally scolded himself, “Ya, no shit Draco,” he mumbled making you giggle. He smiled slightly, now his heart was beating out of his chest, it wasn’t only from panicking about Scorpius, it was the fact that he had been in love with you all throughout school, and apparently still was. 

Speaking of Scorpius, “I’m sorry, it’s not a good time. My son is somewhere making snow angels,” he told you, he didn’t want to leave but he needed to find Scorpius, he was his one priority. 

“Your… what?” you blinked, your throat going dry. “My son, his name is Scorpius, have you seen him? I don’t know where he is,” Draco said shakily hurriedly. “Oh,” you croaked out, “um, no I haven’t,” it went silent for a second. 

“Where is his mom?” you asked, hoping that Draco was single. “Oh, she left when he was born. It’s been me and the little guy for 5 years, he’s the best thing to have ever happened to me. Well besides seeing you here today,” he flirted, making your cheeks flush red. 

“You’re still the same, flirty and arrogant,” you laughed, “oh how I missed that,” you sighed. You too, coincidentally, have been in love with him since first year. 

Before Draco could respond, his head snapped in the direction of a child screaming, “Daddy!”. “Scorpius!” he exclaimed, holding out his arms and catching a body who rammed into him, “Oh thank godric, you’re alright. You scared me buddy.”. 

Scorpius mumbled a ‘sorry daddy’ before looking over at you. “Hi Y/n!” he greeted and waved. “Oh, hi little man,” you said and waved back. 

“Have you met my friend, Y/n. I met her while I was looking for you, she insisted that she helped me find you, but I told her I was tough enough to find you,” he said and puffed out his chest and flexed his muscles, making you and Draco laugh. 

“Yes, I have met her, she and I used to go to school together,” Draco told him, Scorpius gasped. “You mean, we have the same friend?! Does that mean she can come over? You said friends can come over!” he exclaimed giddily. 

Draco looked up at you, “Would you like to come over love?”. You blushed even more and said, “Only if you want me too.”. “We would love for you to come over,” Draco smiled.  

“She’s very pretty, don’t you agree daddy?” Scorpius asked and cocked his head up to his dad. Draco looked over at you and looked at all of your features, you were still perfect to him. 

“I think she is very pretty too,” he told him while smiling at you. “Aw, stop it, you’re making me blush,” you giggled and then shivered a bit, it was getting really cold. 

“Is she coming over? I want her to come over!” Scorpius asked impatiently while stomping his feet. “I think she would like that, it is rather freezing out here,” Draco looked at you, “you’re shaking.”. “Y-Yeah, it’s a bit chilly,” you chattered and rubbed your arms, trying to get warm. 

“Come here,” Draco said and took off one of his coats, it looked expensive. “Oh no, it’s quite alright,” you brushed him off and shivered once more. 

“I insist,” he said and wrapped it around your shoulders. You were instantly filled with warmth. 

“Alright,” Draco said and picked up Scorpius with a huff, “let’s go m’lady and m’lord.”. You giggled as Draco pulled you into his side while you started to walk. 

To anyone on the outside, you would have looked like a small family, but only you and Draco knew that it was the start of something beautiful.

Jin has been acting strange today.

It was around noon when you began looking around for him, remembering the plans you two made for your day off. It's strange that he hasn't monopolized your time since the very second you opened your eyes in the morning... which made you all the more determined to be the first to find him and not the other way around.

Strangely, everyone you ask gives a different reply as to where they saw him last. Leon for one sounded very confident about seeing him in the training grounds - while Yves was sure he had stopped by the kitchen just a couple of minutes ago.

You stand helpless in front of the palace gardens, autumn leaves dancing in the air with a gust of wind, as if to highlight the lack of any presence in the vast open space stretching out ahead of you. You sigh, noting the position of the sun and how it's been following you in your quest to find your lover, rolling across the sky faster now that the days are getting shorter.

You reach the sitting area and a gasp comes out of your mouth as if you refuse to believe your eyes. There, on the pink settee, that's definitely Jin just casually lounging around...

"Did you get lost in the palace?"

Lost? In the place you've been living for so long now?

"You look as if you just saw a ghost. Come here... this was our meeting spot for today, did you forget?"

Oh.

"Maybe I did? I don't know. I'm a bit distracted these days."

Jin smiles sweetly at you, standing relaxed as you take a seat next to him. As soon as you're close enough, however, his demeanor changes as he almost pounces on you, stealing your breath as he plants a passionate kiss on your lips.

You guess he missed you?

What you expected to end as soon as it began becomes deeper and fiercer, and even though you chuckle and pull away to ask him what's with him today, he doesn't let go. He just keeps on kissing you.

"I think I could spend my life with a girl like you."

Face burning red, you decide not to pay too much mind to the oddness of it and to enjoy his showcase of love instead.

It's evening when you get summoned to Leon's faction room. The fourth prince soothes your worries but still insists all of you wait for Jin before starting.

At last, Jin shows up. Takes out a lollipop. Banters with Yves. Tousless Yves' hair. Attempts to tickle Yves.

"Do we really have to do this part as well?!"

Huh?

Leon is quick to steal your attention with a well-timed cough before he addresses, at long last, the reason you're all gathered here. Apparently, it's something about an upcoming gathering with officials from abroad and it has to do with making a good first impression when it comes to introductions. You suggest Chevalier's faction should be the one working harder at these, but Leon only gives you an understanding look before asking Jin to introduce himself first.

"Jin Grandet. 34 years old, still in the prime of my youth. I'd say my best feature is those charming eyes of mine."

Before everyone can roll their eyes, and despite the fact that you feel the urge to do so yourself, you chime in: "Well, he's right."

Jin winks at you and continues.

"My hobbies are my wife, my wife, and my wife."

"You're the worst."

"You never shut up about your wife."

Noting the mood of the other princes based on these comments, Leon uncrosses his arms and calls it a night. Just like that. You thought he was way more tolerant and used to Jin's antics by now... and you also thought you'd be stuck here for much longer. But in the next second, you find yourself in the room alone with Jin who looks as if he has no intentions of getting up from the couch anytime soon.

He shifts the lollipop from one side of his mouth to the other with his tongue, the hard piece of candy clinking softly against the back of his front teeth.

"Sooo?" You ask, approaching him. "Are you going to tell me what all of this is about, already?"

"Why don't you take a seat?"

You spend a whole two seconds considering his offer before you sit down close enough to him that your knees are touching. The question still present in your eyes, you hold his gaze demandingly.

"I was thinking about you a lot lately."

"Jin, you always think about me-"

"And about the night we met. Well, the night I introduced myself to you."

All the pieces fall right into their places. That day, two years ago... you got lost in the palace, wandering off until you accidentally witnessed Jin kissing a woman in the garden, and...

When your mind goes to that place, your new, fresh memory of Jin kissing you breathless right there just earlier today domineers over the initial one.

And then when night fell, you now remember, you were right here in this very room, and...everything was just as it happened just now.

"You...recreated that day? But why?"

"Because I hate myself for giving you a bad first impression like that. I was such a fool. I had no idea how special you're going to become to me and... I don't want you to look back at those memories and remember me by all those awful things. And I wish I could rewrite much more than that first day. But unfortunately, I can't."

You take hold of Jin's face, suppressing the urge to seal his lips with your own so he doesn't say another word. Emotion rushes through you, and you lay your forehead against his shoulder instead.

"Jin, I could never trade our first memories together for anything. You know why? Because they're the proof of the long path we walked towards here."

Jin is at a loss for words, evident by the way he freezes and only after a few silent moments does he shift a little so he can stroke your back. When that ceases being enough to communicate how touched he is, he gently guides you to look him in the eye again.

"I love you more than anything. I love you so damn much."

You chuckle, rubbing your thumb across his chin as you get closer.

"Do you remember your next line?"

"No, I don't."

"If you keep staring at me like that, you're gonna make me think the feeling is mutual."

Time to get into the Halloween season, and what best way to start with a cute horror game like Ib! 🌹 This is an Indie game I hope people don't forget about. It was such a well designed concept, that was actually terrifying to play. I'm not great with Horror at the best of times but this game really caught me off guard with how scary it was. Especially the sound effects! 🥶

I can also appreciate the whole, 'art coming to life to kill you'. Obviously it hits home considering I draw literally all the time and you do sometimes feel consumed by your craft. But you still draw all the same! 🎨 All in all, a game that I am defiantly thinking about replaying because it is just so good!

Some end of year mush for my readers

Below is a longer message that’s more personal so I’ll hide that below the cut for anyone who’s not interested. But before I get to that I just wanted to send a message to all of those who have read my fics this past year. You’re often a bit more anonymous to me than the people I count as friends, but that’s only because I don’t know you yet (seriously, come yell in my inbox, that’s how all friendships here start!).

But I see you all, whether you’re liking your way through 300k+ words of The Pilot and his Girl or just randomly reblogging something short I wrote back in March, I see and appreciate you all. I love hearing what you think about what you’ve read, but if you’re more comfortable just reblogging or liking, that’s more than fine. But I do really notice and appreciate all of you who read and react what I publish. I hope my stories bring a little bit of entertainment and distraction from whatever else your life is. The responses you’ve all given me, it really means the world. Love you all ❤

So to the more personal message.

I want to send a little message out (who am I kidding, I’m unable to keep things short) at the end of the year and tell you all what a difference some things make. But first, to be honest, I haven’t had a very difficult year, I’m ridiculously privileged, and I try to remember and appreciate that. I count my blessings because life hasn’t always been this easy. But I think it makes me notice the difference small actions make, how one act of kindness really creates ripple effects. 

I know others have had very real struggles in 2023 and have overcome, or are still struggling with, real issues and this year has given me the opportunity to see how much of a difference a small online community can make. I appreciate and love everyone of you who has had the guts to open up when things are tough and ask for help, who opened their (digital) arms and inboxes and wanted to help, genuinely help, those who were struggling, by sending a friendly message, by understanding and responding, offering to help, to let them know that they’re not alone. And to let us all have a safe space online where we can be as weird and sad and irrational and deluded (and horny) as we want. 

I know all fandoms have drama but the amount of nice people I’ve met on Tumblr this year by far outweighs any drama. For 99.9% of us, Pedro should be so lucky to have us as his fans! I feel like the goodness that he seems to spread, is emulated among those who go slightly feral (in the best possible way) for him. 

I’ve been fortunate enough to have made a small group of friends this year in the fandom, and these past few months with you guys (you know who you are), have been the best. You’ve made me laugh and cry (and stress out over how the hell I’m supposed to read all of your amazing fics!). I’m constantly amazed by how supportive and kind you are, how, by pure chance, we all stumbled into each other's paths at just the right time and how we now just seem to fit together. Whether it’s about how we’re going to survive the release of Gladiator 2 (seriously, we’re going to need a phone chain or something for welfare checks….) or how to handle any number of just “life” things that we all have to combat. You lot are always there with sage advice, supportive words and encouragement in a way I’ve never experienced with a group of friends before. Seriously, you’re all the best and I’m so happy to be your friend.

What a year!

I've had probably one of the best years so far in my life, so many good things happened, I got to travel the country and experience a lot of cool things and make a lot of new, like-minded friends.

On top of all that I spent a lot of time here on this everburning hellsite being as normal as possible or disfigured on the floor, eating the walls and bedrock. And also getting to know lovely babyboos all around the world!
