i wanted to kinda talk about my opinion on some things related to Ana Huang and the romance genre in general- sorry for the rant!!!
finished king of sloth by ana huang and urgrhrgrhrhrh i actually really really enjoyed it!!!! (i say that ab everything i read tho tbh, i've just never been the type who criticizes the media i consume so PLEASE don't ever base ur opinions off of mine :)
my post isn't about the book specifically or even the author. i lowkey have a bone to pick and its NOT with ana huang or the book but moreso the reaction i've been noticing about the book (specifically from people who have been making fun of it and/or people who read it)! this isn't meant to start discourse or anything but i am open to polite discussion about some of the points im bringing up. this is generally focused around ana huang but also a lot of majority-feminine centric media has this same problem.
anyways, i'm gonna try to express how i feel as best i can without being rude or offensive ajshsjs-
it just lowkey irks me that sm people have been hating on ana huang now that she's getting attention, and since she's a romance writer, her fans and fanbase is mostly women and/or girls, (which is totally ok)!! however, i genuinely feel like this is just another barbie movie or sarah j mass or taylor swift scenario where the second something/someone that a lot of woman like starts to get publicity, people (mostly men) start excessively hating on it.
i have genuinely seen sm people dissing not only ana huang but her writing as well. now i don't know much about her as a person and i know that a lot of people are flawed so if she's genuinely done something wrong PLEASE lmk, i don't keep up w that stuff. and hey, maybe you just didn't like the book and thats ok too!!! its totally valid to not like something, but to make fun of an author and the people who enjoy her content just seems.. ehh.
a lot and i mean a LOT of people claim that she's only popular because of her smut but i actually enjoy her books more than just for the smutty/romance aspect. maybe that's just me, but i genuinely find it interesting and a lot of other people i know also enjoy it for the plot. and if u are reading for the smut that's ok as well, this is a totally safe space, and nobody should judge u on your reasons to read a book. the books are INTENDED to be fluffy and spicy and overall are just fictional romantic stories. they're smutty, funny books, not the bible. it shocks me how much people make fun of them.
i just keep seeing this trend of people negatively nitpicking anything and everything about authors and their writing ESPECIALLY when its romance and it just rubs me the wrong way. ive seen a LOT of people upset about huang including cameo's of her other characters in her latest book, and if you don't like those other characters so much then why... are u reading it??? THAT SOUNDS SO MEAN IM SORRY but its just so strange that people are upset about her including her own characters from her own series'?
its just disappointing that whenever someone or something becomes popular, there are always people who are just trying to be negative and diss it along with the people who enjoy it. i'm NOT making this post to be rude or offensive to people who genuinely don't like the author or the series, ur absolutely entitled to ur own opinion!!! however i have just seen this link SO MANY TIMES of people suddenly disliking something/someone bc a lot of woman seem to enjoy it and it just makes me a bit sad and disappointed.
(also side note can men stop hating on the romance genre and books they haven't even read? please??? can feminine people like anything anymore??? romance exists as such a successful genre bc the majority of readers are WOMEN who have to create fictional scenarios about being loved by seemingly "unachievable" men that are literally just doing the bare minimum. women fantasize about being treated with BASIC HUMAN RESPECT as though that isn't the standard, bc honestly, it isnt.)
THIS POST IS NOT MEANT TO EXCLUDE ANY OF MY FELLOW NON-FEMALE/NON-WOMAN OR GENDER NON CONFORMING FOLK WHO ALSO ENJOY ROMANCE!!!! THIS IS JUST A GENERALIZATION BASED ON THINGS I HAVE NOTICED, AND I AM NOT EDUCATED/HAVE A DEGREE ON THE MATTER!!!! THIS IS SIMPLY AN OBSERVATION!!!!! IF UVE READ THIS LONG, MWAH MWAH MWAH!!!

(disclaimer, this is coming from a heartstopper fan! i love heartstopper this is not hate!!)
i think at least part of the annoyance with heartstopper isn't just that isn't a light fluffy ya series, it's also that its another example of how the queer media that gets the most mainstream attention tends to be this kind of light fluffy ya stuff that focuses on two conventially attractive queer boys or men and it also tends to be written by people who aren't queer men on top of that, so not only can it feel very samey but it can feel like other queer people are relegated to side characters in the stories of cis gay men. and as someone who loves heartstopper i get that on some level.
btw by "written by people who aren't queer men" NOT saying that isn't not written by queer people. alice oseman is genderfluid and aroace, becky albertalli is bisexual, etc. and while i think the point is still valid there is a misogyny element in that a lot of the focus is put on things that are written by women or people they perceive as women while tumblr darlings like good omens and ofmd (written by presumably straight men) don't get the same treatment.
nah y'know what, that's fair, I can get how frustrating it can be for a lot of popular queer stories to feel samey, I've definitely gotten BL-fatigue in the past on platforms like WT and Tapas because many of them ARE the same and feel like they're just piggybacking off trends for the sake of clout (and this is a problem in the heterocis romance stories too, don't get me fucking started on how dark romance has turned into torture porn where vulnerable women are constantly being victimized by rich powerful men and we're just supposed to root for that ??), but it's one of those things where like, what might be seen as just more corny shit could very well be the revelation another person needs that they're gay / trans / etc. that the story helped them realize. there's just a point where i see these arguments against cheesy popular queer stories that teeter dangerously close to being queerphobic and, as you said, misogynist, simply because "it was written by someone who i perceive as a woman so that makes it BAD!"
and I didn't mention it in the original post because I didn't want to @ OP in any way but in the comment section they literally said "i dont think heartstopper itself is all that bad but it has pretty much aimed the direction of all mainstream gay comics towards wholesomeness instead of anything more interesting so i want to destroy heartstopper to destroy heartstopper clones" and that gives me massive ick because it implies their sole reasoning for including it was "chill and happy queer stories bad, if a character doesn't suffer enough then they're not interesting"?? why can't LGBTQ+ audiences have more 'vanilla' stories that aren't all sad and angsty all the time? are we not entitled to the same corny romcom vanilla shit that the heterocis are entitled to? why do LGBTQ+ characters - and by extension, people - have to suffer to qualify as being 'interesting'? You're already interesting, you're you! like i'm sorry, are we trying to scare people straight??? 😭 shit, that's even a plot point that's touched on in Heartstopper itself where Nick is questioning his sexuality and he starts googling shit and it's just ALL the terrifying news stories of queer kids being ostracized / bullied / murdered / etc. and as much as it's important to be aware of the ongoing issues so we can keep fighting for our rights, we ALSO need to find balance and remember to celebrate the stories that AREN'T that because we need something to be hopeful for, something we can find peace in. I don't think Heartstopper is some deeply profound piece of work, but it also doesn't seem like it's trying to be? It's a low stakes celebration of the LGBTQ+ experience that's very warm and comforting, especially for those who are the same ages as the main characters who are often being persuaded by the grown-ups around them that it's a death sentence to be gay / trans / etc.
and it's not like we HAVEN'T had popular pieces of queer representative media that explored things outside of cheesy BL, like are we forgetting about Nimona which explored both the gay and genderfluid experience in a very accessible and fun way while still being mature and not pandering to its audience over how society has made monsters out of queer people?
Tumblr media
(and even then I'm sure there are folks who would argue "actually, here are the issues with Nimona" , and that's fine tbh, we can like media and appreciate what it brings to the table while also discussing what it lacks in, such as what we're doing now with Heartstopper! progress is a never-ending journey!!)
and also okay, not me trying to be argumentative in the slightest BUT I don't really get the argument that 'other queer people' are being sidelined for the main characters? unless there's something I'm missing here lol (I will apologize for that because it's admittedly been a while since I've re-read Heartstopper so I should probably go do that to refresh myself on it). like i say that in the sense that Heartstopper is clearly meant to be about two gay male teenagers. just like how Nimona is about a shapeshifter who is not a girl or a boy (they're Nimona!) and a gay man who are both trying to change the system that's other'd them for years for the better. that is the story Heartstopper is trying to tell and it achieves that. it also has a trans character plotline that I could see people arguing feels sidelined but I think there's a massive difference between 'sidelining' and just having a B plot ? my honest take with that is not every piece of representative media is going to be able to cover every single topic, it's just not doable for one piece of media to be a monolith for everything, the same as how one person can't be a monolith for an entire community of people. BUT that doesn't mean works like Heartstopper and Nimona can't inspire others to also lend their voices into the medium and create that representation that's needed. That's why we need ✨variety✨ and Heartstopper is part of that variety by offering a more vanilla cutesy story full of good vibes for people who want that sort of thing.
IDK, I think there's just a lot of nuance that's being missed in that poll, and in the difference between Heartstopper inspiring more people to write happy cozy BL stories vs. implying that it's had an actual negative influence on modern art and media in the same way that series like Homestuck and LO have to the point that people think it needs to be destroyed, like wtf LOL Like they're not even comparable IMO and a lot of the arguments I see people making about why it is just feel a little backwards, and those arguments obfuscate the real issue which is just "popular thing is popular and people like to piggyback off popular shit". That's a fact for basically any niche and genre, these trends come and go. Even if the whole cutesy BL trend passes one day (which it will) it'll be replaced by something else that people will also inevitably find samey and boring after a while. This is not a concept that's unique to LGBTQ+ media, it's universal.
Balance is important and I think finding that balance is as much a responsibility on the shoulders of the consumer as it is on the creator. And I don't think Heartstopper deserves to be put into the same camp as stories like LO which literally straightwashes its canonically queer characters and gives those queer identities to nothingburger characters who are easy to shoo out of the plot to make way for the heterocis ones (while still parading itself around like it's actually 'queer rep' which... it really isn't.) Like all three of the comics in that poll are vastly different, serving different audiences, with different goals and intentions. It's comparing apples to oranges to pineapples.
The worst Heartstopper has to offer is just a low stakes plot that might not appeal to everyone or feel 'samey' which yeah, valid, but in the grander sense of whether or not it's had a negative effect on queer media just for being... cheesy? And inspiring other people to write stories like it? I don't get the argument, it feels like it's severely missing the point of what we're fighting for here - to live happy little unbothered lives - but that's just me ╮( ̄ω ̄;)╭ I'm definitely not trying to be a dick about it in any way and I don't want anyone to think I'm not open to the opposing points here, I do agree with you on the oversaturation of samey BL stories, but it just rose some massive red flags to see Heartstopper next to frigging Homestuck and Lore Olympus LOL

i think i had an epiphany about pokemon black and white.
i think it was released about 5 or 6 years too early. what do i mean by that? BW came out in 2010, around a decade ago, and im going to assume it probably started full development not that long after HGSS finished up development, which would have been somewhere in 2009.
2009 was definitely a complex time, especially in Japan, but it was a *very different* time to now.
See, I think team plasma would have had a much more smooth narrative if they had incorporated the idea of *misappropriating progressive language*, and otherwise misusing certain terminology to the point of rendering it completely meaningless in its prior context.
we know the language bigots use to talk about minority groups nowadays, right? how there's pieces of language that used to serve a *very specific purpose* to refer to a *very specific kind of act* (such as grooming, a term which is now just thrown at the LGBT community whenever a bigot feels they need to drum up hate) which have now been sandblasted down into just another sneer to spit at people they hate?
and how by doing this they've tainted the usefulness *of those terms* to the point where it's genuinely impacting people's ability to report on certain things?
this was not as close of a topical issue in 2010 as it is today, where language is increasingly being weaponized due to the availability and reliance on social media our society has increasingly found itself with. this is why i think in a better world, pokemon bw would have come out in 2015, maybe even *later*, when this shit not only really began to develop into the cancerous issue it is now, but also when people began to actively speak out about it in a way that was wide-reaching.
think about a reframing here. at its core, team plasma is a pokemon welfare organization being used as a front as an elaborate way to dismantle any potential threats ghetsis might have to succeeding in a coup. ideally, this means trainers are pressured into releasing their pokemon and the ones who aren't have theirs *taken by force*, causing immense trauma to both pokemon *and* person, thereby necessarily weakening them in the process.
so, lets approach it as it might be done today. the first thing you do is you start widening the meaning of *abuse* and applying it in situations where it absolutely isn't the case, just to *force* people to legitimize a conversation that, say, owning a house pet might qualify as pokemon abuse.
you muddy the meaning of abuse until you have caused schisms in local culture. you rely on what examples of abuse you can find--neglect, power-hungry trainers who do view their pokemon mostly as instruments to increment ever-higher in ranking, but you do not turn you ire, *specifically*, on them. you turn that blame on your real targets: everyone else.
and all the while, what *abuse* or *neglect* or *mistreatment* even means when it comes to pokemon is muddled. people start reporting people for what they perceive *as* abuse even when it's not, and wasting the time of the organizations designed to look after this kind of thing, while also making anyone who reported things and got a "this wasnt abuse" feel validated that, yes, *everyone is in on it*.
with of course the occasional group of aggro anti-trainers reporting in such large numbers that the legal bodies involved have to investigate and maybe even separate pokemon and human because, well--look at all of these reports. there might be something going on.
and this snowballs. those who dont immediately bend to the pressure are targeted. they get picketed, they get people screaming at them. they have their organization decried as "abuse enablers" and with the way social media flattens nuance and these people already making sure to leave out all of the important details, many of these figures become hated by people who have been caught up in a cultural hate furor towards someone who has really been the one looking after these issues. people who are good, but are now demonized by a very vocal and aggressive group.
and then, you twist the knife, because with the eradication of all meaning to terms like *abuse*, you also make it a lot easier for abusive trainers to get away with what they're doing so long as they just pay the correct kind of lip service. just look at ghetsis: he has a hydreigon that genuinely seems to fucking hate him, judging by its frustration. abuse doesnt actually *get reduced*, because the words have been muddled so much the kind of clues and hints that might help a pokemon abuser get caught and put away are lost in the endless froth of vitriol.
abusers dont get hurt by this so long as they know how to phrase it.
and when you add in that the people who would actually be handling cases of abuse and mistreatment being either demonized, bent to the will of an angry mob, or too terrified to speak out, real abuse goes untouched.
people, *figureheads* of the movement, become untouchable because they crusade for the campaign with the right combination of words that *surely* they're not using this as a smoke screen to cover for their own goals.
this, this right here? i think people have always been aware of how language can be shaped like this, but genuinely the last 5 to 8 years have been the absolute worst of it, and most obviously criticized. if BW came out during this period, and used this as a touchstone rather than the absolute stance it does, it could have been a much more nuanced and compelling narrative.
the point is, though, Pokemon BW could have come out in the late 2010s and probably had a much stronger real-life example to build on and work with. The conversations we are having today are eminently relatable to Team Plasma's goal, it's just *too early* to have that connection.
It also would have permitted some nuance within the narrative. As it stands right now, the Pokemon universe simply rejects the idea that mistreatment of Pokemon is a realistic idea in the first place. Even among some of the darkest, and arguably the most likely teams to abuse their Pokemon (Galactic and Rocket) mainly view their Pokemon as integral sources of power that they must nourish and improve for their own benefit. It's not a purely benevolent reason, no, but Cyrus has a Crowbat (only evolves with high friendship) and while some of it is anime apocrypha, virtually *nothing* implies that Giovanni mistreated his Pokemon, and that Team Rocket mainly mistreated Pokemon via stealing them in the first place or by attempting get rich quick schemes (slowpoke tails).
In other words, the only group that has been shown to actively and aggressively *abuse pokemon* is team plasma itself, where in one of their first appearances two grunts, claiming to want to protect Pokemon, repeatedly kick a fucking Munna not ten feet away from you.
These would be the leaders, the problems, the actual criminals stringing the others along who have been caught up in the momentum of finally having someone to just *hate*.
This would let the story also progress as you work your way up from the grunts (who may fall anywhere on the scale between shitheel or ideological warrior consumed by the movement) to the admins (who are all eerily powerful, well-connected, and giving away hints that their Pokemon are mistreated, its just that they have the language and reputation to avoid scrutiny) and finally to Ghetsis, who is the embodiment of these leaders in the worst way possible. Part of the story, then, would be figuring out where N falls, if what he's saying is just lip service or the truth, and it would make his struggle to reconcile the world Ghetsis has painted for him (one of casual Pokemon cruelty and Pokemon forced into subservient roles to do as humans wish) against the one he faces (one where Pokemon and humans work together--not always perfectly, but with a lot of care) and the slowly dawning realization that everything he's been told is a projection of how Ghetsis and his admins actually feel about Pokemon a lot more meaningful.
You could even include hints. Admins putting their Pokemon away whenever N is around, almost in a panic because if N got a single chance to speak to any of their Pokemon, the entire plot would go up in smoke.
N not knowing about certain operations or being intentionally redirected to you to keep him occupied as Ghetsis and his admins are finally allowed to throw their weight around.
By making it much more reflective of trends we know about today, you could get a fair bit more intense narrative about deceit and the real fucked up consequences of this kind of thing.

You know a thing i dont think people will realize is, along with the dangers of saeran being in the hospital without the possibility of having visitors and the very real possibility saejoong could easily take advantage of that; in saeyoungs mind anything could happen to him. Why would he trust other people to care for his brother when doing exactly that was what got him so hurt in the first place? He's not going to let saeran be trapped ever again and giving him as much freedom as he could in the bunker was the best he could do
Yeah, Saeyoung Choi is the model of paranoia. It's not an unfounded fear, either. His entire life has been a non-stop ride of never knowing who is trustworthy. That illusion was shattered beyond relief thanks to Rika and V, as well. How can he trust anyone ever again outside of the RFA? Don't get me wrong, he trusts the RFA, but even that is very limited and the most he can manage. It's just Jumin and Jaehee that he can speak to but... they can't put their necks out for him, and he's well aware of it.
They're doing as much as humanly possible to help but they can't stop Saejoong. They can lie for Saeran's sake and push back media from seeing Mint Eye survivors, but the Prime Minister is another ballpark! You can't fight the man on top of trying to control what's going on behind the scenes as far as what people think of this cult being discovered and dismantled.
Saeran is in danger at all times in the hospital. People talk about him because he throws fits and can have violent tendencies when caged like an animal. People talk. You can't stop that. All it takes is one little person describing him... one person mentioning his blood type... and then it's over. One word and Saeran could be taken and killed. That's not going to happen on Saeyoung's watch.
What else was Saeyoung supposed to do?
Should he have left Saeran in the hospital to die? Should he have left him to be mistreated by hospital staff? Should he have let them give Saeran something he didn't want against his will? Those were all just detrimental to his health. The hospital staff got tired of him, people were afraid and wouldn't try to find other means to help him, and on top of that, you have to fear when word slips out to someone that it never should.
Saeyoung did what he thought was best. It doesn't mean it was a good idea or that he's proud of it. He did what he had to do to make sure that Saeran wouldn't die. Was he bad at executing the means to take care of his brother? Yeah, in many ways. He's not a professional for mental health. Does he claim to be? No. He does the best he can for his brother in the middle of a shitty situation.
Is Saeyoung perfect? No. But, who is? Nobody. Nobody's perfect. The Secret Ending isn't supposed to be perfect. It's doing the best it can in the middle of a sinkhole. Saeyoung knows this isn't what Saeran is dreaming of. He knows his brother wants to see the sky and be as far from his trauma as possible. But, the only way Saeyoung can provide that is if he puts him in the bunker in the meantime.
Saeran can be helped when it's safe. Saeyoung will find him support and other tools. I have no doubt about that. But, initially, he does the best he can do, and even if that's not good for either of the twins to be facing, it's the best they can have for the time being. Sometimes reality isn't going to be perfect and clean. It's going to be messy and hard to pick up the pieces.
Saeyoung means well. Saeran eventually comes to understand that over time. It's okay to criticize Saeyoung for his choices but it's more important to see why he makes them. I'm hurt for Saeran in the SE in many ways because I know he hates being trapped and robbed of his autonomy, but Saeyoung did what he had to do to ensure Saeran could even have a chance to LIVE to get some autonomy back in the future.

tbh i don't understand how or why people think spy is Mean Spirited or like. Diabolical. i think he's Dry as a person (sarcastic, a bit standoffish) but in nearly every piece of media we've seen he's actually been very kind and helpful...? and not just to scout...
he's super kind to/patient with soldier
he helps sniper in the comics (who also then helps him in return. soooooo i dont get where people think they hate each other either lol. but i digress. i could make a whole other post about my sniperspy thoughts tbh!)
in expiration date he comes up with the last wish thing to lift everyones spirits
he's still on great terms with scout's mom (whether theyre together or not is up to Fans ig but either way)
is on an at-least-friendly basis with heavy, calling him by his first name which not even medic does(?)
is protective of/respects miss pauling
like just because he's not Loud About It doesn't mean he isn't kind... he's stoic and collected but he's not devoid of feelings... his entire "Teaching Montage" with scout in ed is that you have to earn the respect of your lovers.... like are we seeing the same character here or?
i think spy would be a great friend And an incredible partner... its cool if he's not your type obviously but to say he's like... selfish or a douchebag... idk i don't see it.... and i think the way he talks to scout (calling him a failure, "asking out the dial tone i see" etc) is just him breaking scouts balls, like scout does to spy in return... im firm in my belief that spy, scout's mom and scout all have the same "lovingly breaking your balls" banter with each other and their loved ones because that's just How They Are... mwah
also i don't get the fanon choice of making spy this like. aggressive "sex pest" or anything like that, either. why are you making him a creep when his entire thing is respecting women/being a better person for your partner(s)... lol... i promise he's not obsessed with his nearly-30-year-old-son's sex life. you don't have to make him the villain in every shipping fic lol!!
dutch hates fanon it comes as no surprise (<- bushmedicine shippers Understand SKDFKSDF) As Usual write whatever you want however you want etc etc etc im just Thinking Out Loud!

Thanks for the tag @lelephantsnail 💕
Favorite Color: peacock blue/midnight blue
Currently Reading: The Black Swan by Naseem Taleb. This is so unlike anything I’ve read. loving it so far. Padmarag by Rokeya Sakhawat Hossain. I hope I finish them.
Last Song: Dil Se Re by Rahman, Anupama and Anuradha. and Fanaa (Rahman, Tanvi, Sunitha). His concert reawakened my love for this song (actually all of his music, I had forgotten how much I loved it).
Last Series: I finished a Little Women rewatch (in love) and finally started Spy x Family. I love it! it's already starting to deliver the found family, I'm gonna be obsessed. Also watching Gaus electronics on the side. It’s pure chaos and zero brain cells in sight. I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did.
Last Movie: Nope. I need to rewatch this masterpiece.
Currently working on: just my portfolio. messing this one up big time if I dont stop procrastinating
share 10 different favourite characters from ten different pieces of media in no particular order, then tag 10 people: I'm doing 11 because I can't pick one from little women. I'm also quoting them (not necessarily their best lines, just the ones that come to my mind first) bc why not💕
1. Oh In-Joo (Little Women):
"Where do souls live? I always wanted a home where my soul could live." I can’t stop thinking about her characterization and development. They managed to keep Meg’s tenderness from the novel but added so much more. and they fit all of that with a surreal plot and significant commentary on capitalism and poverty. I love that they weaved in so much (and did it well).
2. Oh In-Kyung (Little Women):
"They're so fresh. They're fresh to the point that it's almost sexy". Fresh produce is…weirdly sexy. She gets it. Therefore, she is my favourite. Her layers make her feel so real, a part of the reason why I’m so obsessed w this show. Modern adaptations of classics are hard to get right, and I feel like this one treads those lines well. it is fresh (a full genre shift) but still manages to keep the essence.
3. Black (Not Me):
"Power is corrupting. Ideas are what have the power to transform society" My plot device of a man🥹🥹 Certainly deserved better. I could watch him wreck shit for days.
4. Dazai (Bungo Stray Dogs):
"No one can fully grasp another person's deepest emotions. It's impossible. Only you can understand what you're feeling. But generally speaking, I can tell you this. Most people tend to cry when their father dies." Can’t help but hate him. Can’t help but project onto him. He has fucked up a lot. and he will continue to do so. It is entertaining to watch, but sometimes he deserves a slap across the face (or several idk). Other times, a hug.
5. Wang (180 Degrees Longitude Passes Through Us):
"I will break free. Time is on my side, so I've decided to leave. But leaving doesn't mean I lost." I’m so proud of him. In a story where people struggled to change, he proved that it was still possible. His sheer will to gain something out of the heartbreaking experience he had, and to keep going despite being so lonely, so unheard. But also, the maturity to know which fights to pick. There’s so much to learn from him.
6. Togawa (Old Fashion Cupcake):
"I'm seducing you. I've been trying to seduce you, with everything I have. Although you never had a clue. I know...being seduced by someone of the same sex, isn't considered common sense for most people. Especially from a subordinate. But unfortunately, it's common sense to me. So I've been seducing you. I've been meaning to tell you this whole time, but I was afraid. I was scared of saying something that wasn't normal to you. But doing this...and telling you in such a horrible way... I'm so sorry. I like you. I like you so much, I could die." I couldn't have justified picking anything else.
7. Ink (Bad Buddy):
"It's so gainful" The icon that she is. gmm, get your ass up and give us a milklove GL 2023.
8. Anya (Spy x Family):
"Father is a tsundere." I've only had her for two episodes but if anything happened to her I would kill everyone in this room and then myself.
9. Fleabag (Fleabag):
"I don’t know what to do with it. With all the love I have for her. I don't know where to put it now." I will always treasure fleabag.
10. Baek Hee-Sung (Flower of Evil):
"We’ve only known each other for 14 years. So of course, you’d be clueless of my intentions." Thinking about him leaves an ache in my chest. Mr. I've-never-felt-an-emotion really broke down on the streets after reuniting with his 4 yo daughter and then got called out by her for it. "Daddy, don't cry like before if you miss me, okay? You're a grown-up". So,, misunderstood.
11. Han Ju-Won (Beyond Evil):
"I'll be a monster and dive into hell. That is my way of atoning" He's on this list bc I miss his ass and this show.
Special mention to Choi Doil and Great Aunt (Little Women) bc they haven't left my mind. and Nozue (babe, togawa was only here bc of that iconic confession, i love you just as much) and Miw from 3 will be free💕 This was so much fun, thanks for tagging me @lelephantsnail <33 Also, I’m so happy to see that you’ve watched 180 degrees, and wanted to shred it to bits with analysis because that show absolutely deserves it. so much to dig into and have your heart wrecked. Feel free to yell at me about it any time.
Have a great day!💕

I'm not one to get angry and post opinions on shit but i get sO mad when someone says a queer movie or book was written "to make straight ppl comfortable" ESPECIALLY if said queer media was written BY a queer person.
Idk abt anyone else feels abt it, frankly i dont want a debate, but that phrase, to me, sets a precedent that inherently, queer ppl just existing make every straight person uncomfortable. And that, the only way to be authentically queer, is to be their stereotype of what straight people think LGBTQ+ ppl should be.
The beautiful thing about existence is that there is no ONE way to do it. And just bc a character in a piece of LGBTQ+ media isn't what stereotypes tell everyone a queer person should be doesn't mean that it was created to make straight ppl comfortable.
If a straight person is uncomfortable w an LGBT person nothing will make them like that person because it isn't about PERSONALITY or STYLE it's about their deeprooted homophobia and those who live with that are still going to hate the story or character no matter what.
And if your hangup on a piece of lgbtq+ media is that is doesnt feel authentic bc it doesnt mirror your experience, or it doesnt include some tragic homophobic backstory or public hazing, then i'm sorry but fuck off? Personally, i don't want every lgbtq+ thing i consume showing how hard and difficult it is to be queer sometimes. I want the happy endings, the corny romance. Why cant we have that? Huh? Why's everything have to be angsty and traumatic? I say this as a LOVER of angst, but it's very tired being told over and over again that everything sucks when youre queer and nothing gets better.
Pls stop gatekeeping what YOU think queer media should be. If you don't like it, just say that. But i promise u, the fact u feel like it is straightwashed or for straight people is just projecting.
Edit: ALSO sick of ppl gatekeeping portrayals like theres a continuum of queerness one has to fit into in order to be "queer enough", bc that assumption then bleeds into real life and ppl get told theyre not a real queer person. Like shut up. Like let ppl exist how they want to and in ways that make them happy.

Hello boys!!
I've been getting messages from the kindest people in my inbox, it was killing me to see you upset, so i decided to respond in this way.
I want to hug the crimeboys community. I want to hug you so tightly.
I am genuinely happy for those of you who enjoyed the finale. I envy you, because I did not.
There isn't a chance that I'll ever like it, either, as I've been turning it over and over in my brain relentlessly, reading people's takes when i can make myself to, grappling for a buoy, something to make it okay. In brief moments of the "no thought brain empty" state, I'm fine, but mostly there's intense frustration and confusion. And Big Sad.
In my opinion, this was an awful ending for these two characters. I hate that I'm forced to accept it, so I probably won't.
That being said, I'd rather you didn't message me asking why I'm of this stance, or moreover writing me an essay on why I'm wrong, I dont have the energy or patience to compose a pretty reply to that.
Keep in mind, most importantly, that everyone is entitled to their opinion on this lore, and is free to critize the writing, providing they don't go insulting ccs in their faces. If you see someone making fun of those who are processing their grief in public spaces, understand that the former people are emotionally immature and had poor upbringing. Yes, I said grief. What I've been feeling for the past 3 days was heartbreak and grief, with its physical manifestations. So I'm here to say it's alright if you breathe around a boulder too.
What you have to be doing as part of the fandom is have empathy and respect for people you do not know on the internet. Recognise you have no high ground to dictate what's the right reaction. Introspect a bit if you have an urge to tell someone to "chill": what impact that comment would have, and recognize that there's none. You'd just come across as an asshole.
I was intending to not go on a rant about that, but it's an apparent problem currently which I couldn't not address, as it turned out. You might be thinking "Bro they're speaking so seriously as if someone died". If so, the following should explain it well enough:
Ability and desire to give your heart to something fictional is a valuable, bright, very telling character trait. This is empathy of the highest order. This means one's heart is immense, and strong. Sorry for speaking cliche, but I do want you to read into what I'm saying.
Have you ever felt enveloped in a hug by someone's mere text message, when they said they understand, relate, and support you? This is incredible. You read fics and cry, you look at art and feel warmth in your chest, you talk with other fans and feel connected. This is a gift that we have, to be connected through this fictional story. And the media format that it uses does not matter here, only makes it surprising and unique.
So. You're valid to be satisfied with the ending. You're valid to be unhappy with it. It's valid to be deeply unhappy because of it. These characters meant the world to me. The trust I put in the content creators not to ruin them was immense. I'm currently figuring out where to go from here creatively.
I want to promise hovewer, that I'll do my best to recover from this shit, and bring comfort to you guys with my crimeboys art again. Its largely because of you and your love for my work that I've decided that. But also this fandom is the place where Ive felt the happiest with myself in my whole life. It's insane, I don't want to lose this.
If you have anything you want to send me, any fic or any art, you can dm me on twitter or instagram of the same name as this blog. I'm currently trying to keep distance from dsmp content (key word trying), but if it's something you're passionate about sharing, I'll go and appreciate it as soon as i can. It means a lot to me when you guys share your thoughts and your work with me Q^Q 💜💜💜
Your messages and your tags under the last piece that's blown up, have been a huge comfort to me. A Huge comfort. Thank you so so much for letting me know. I create art cause its the meaning of me, to be influencing people's emotions, leaving a mark, so I'm incredibly happy I could help you feel better in this time, and any other time. 🫂
Thank you guys. And I'm sorry.

I saw that in your anon you said you have thoughts about why you think Grian doesn’t fit the eye. I completely agree, I think most people are attributing him to the eye because of the watcher! Headcannons they have from the Evo days. I find that so interesting since isn’t the point of most watcher fics is that Grian doesn’t want to be/doesn’t fit as a watcher? It’s almost like defeating the point of that.
Anyways this is just a long winded way of asking why you think the eye doesn’t fit? -V
thank you for the ask! i am going to preface this by saying there might be some Light Shade when it comes to fanon and fanon characterizations. that being said, people are entitled to interpret canon however they want and i'm just a fool on the internet who has her own opinions.
most of what we consider "watcher lore" is majority fanon; the watchers are never stated to be outright malicious and yet we characterize the watchers as purely evil beings... hm. this is used for griangst which wouldn't be a problem if the watchers weren't very ooc and people didn't push watcher!grian onto everything. this kinda thing becomes annoying as hell when it's affecting how people interpret canon characterizations (think familial sbi type beat).
now before we get to the next part i'm going to explain what the eye is as a fear. it is the fear of being watched, of your secrets being known. but it also manifests as the need to know, to learn, even if it destroys you. notice how interference isn't mentioned? because they watch, they do not interfere.
mkay lets get to the actual tma part of this. because of the name "watchers" and their role as the audience your immediate reaction is to go "oh! they must be eye aligned then!" but really the case is that audience stand-ins are hardly ever eye aligned. i said once "i dont think ive ever consumed a piece of media where the audience stand-in has been strictly the eye. maybe the muppets." i've also said "if anything. audience stand-ins tend to be desolation imo. like. we LOVE causing chaos."
i believe that the watchers are more extinction aligned. if you want a more in-depth explanation of the watchers as a extension of the extinction my siblings, solar arc, made this wonderful post! [link]
before we get to why i think grian doesn't fit with the eye and does with the desolation i'm going to explain the desolation! the desolation is the fear of mindless destruction, of pain and loss. jude perry (an avatar of the desolation) describes it as "the light with the comfort of fire stripped from it, leaving nothing but the terror of its approach." my friend @rocnix says, "the fear of a change for the worse, but you don't see it's a change for the worse because it's destroying you and you're enjoying the destruction too much to notice it's yourself being destroyed" that's a bit paraphrased but it was on a vc and i can't remember their exact words.
okay now to the actual grian part (finally)! you're right when you say that fanon grian almost never wants to stay as a watcher! he's always in the middle of it all, spurring conflict on. that is not what avatars of the eye do. avatars of the eye watch and record what they see, they hardly ever interfere. (i do not count s5 of the eye, i feel like it is ooc for the rules established in earlier seasons for the eye. you can also ask me about this if you want.)
it makes much more sense for grian to be an avatar of the desolation, it fits with his canon characterization. he was there in the civil war, the s7 elections, the turf war, the shopping shenanigans of s8, even the diamond tower conflict from our current season! he does not watch, it's no fun to just watch!
this is super long winded my apologies, i really love this kind of analysis of fandom and then... fixing it LMAO. again i'd like to mention, absolutely no hate to people who enjoy watcher/eye!grian. i've been known to enjoy a good eye!grian from time to time :) <3

Its interesting how Lily constantly insists Aliana isn't a typical sith...but Lily also constantly makes Alianca act like a typical sith.
I'm starting to think Lily just wanted a Jedi OC who was "edgy" and used the dark side of the force (we'll put aside the fact that the jedi dont use it because as multiple pieces of star wars media have shown, the dark side is a malevolent, corrupting force that can be described as "it takes more than it gives") but because Lily doesn't actually understand how the Jedi work, she's rather call her OC a Sith instead. But she isn't actually a sith, she's a socialist and hates tyrants and cares about people! (Even though Anakin also didn't like tyrants and cared about people and look what happened to him).
Also certain powers like force lightning can be used by jedi. Plo Koon in legends was able to use force lightning and fueled it using his anger at injustice. So if her reason for making Aliana was "I want a jedi who uses the dark side" she could've done that, she would've just had to been aware that the jedi avoid the dark side for a very good reason and that they fuel typically dark side powers s different way than the Sith do.
Also I am really put off by Lily's logic of "Aliana is the last of the sith so that means she can decide what it means". First off, the people of the galaxy have been subjugated and enslaved multiple times by the sith, but I guess it's okay because Aliana hates slavers. Except her mother was also a slaver... oy vey. And second, given what the Sith and the Empire were based off, I'm not the only one who thinks it's kind of iffy for Lily's OC who is descended from the faction of space fascists to suddenly be considered a good person just because she is the "last one" and gets to decide what it means.
I'm sorry if this felt kind of aimless, I'm just getting increasingly annoyed by how little Lily understands the Jedi-Sith contrast and whatnot in star wars.
Honestly, part of the problem is Lily doesn't want everyone in the galaxy to be ignorant of the Sith and who they where... including Aliana.
Lily wants Aliana to be special, and persecuted because she's special. And what's worst, is that Lily is tying herself in knots trying to justify why she made her OC functionally one of the bad guys. And not just one of the bad guys, but the last of the evil bad guys. A superior evil to the other evil, if you would.
As for how little Lily understands Star Wars... It sounds like, based off of what Cypher as stated, Lily can understand the properties she consumes...Right up until her headcanons become involved. Then she slowly loses the plot of what made her like the works in the first place.

Hey! What i dont get is why people act like rwby is a masterpiece. They know they can like a show that has flaws right? Cause at the begining fans knew its a fun show about girls fighting monsters with plotholes or stupid things and thats fine. People still found things to love. But with volumes progressing it just became "if you say something bad about the show you are not a fan so shut the fuck up" like? You know you will fuck up your show like that right? If you just "love" everything the writers throw at you no matter what garbage it is? They will see the fans are satisfied with garbage so they wont see the need to make better stories just feed them more garbage. Just take the comment of "we wanted to make a penny 2.0 that wasnt the same penny as before but we didnt have time for it"??? The writers should have made time for it and it was possible, just cut the ace op screen time, its not that hard. But they knew they didnt need to make the Story any better or more meaningful cause they knew the Fans will still eat it up cause look! They brought penny back! Isnt it great?! The same goes for Ironwood. Even while making him a villain (which i hate) they could give him nuance. He could still be moraly grey and would have made sense with his previous characterization. But why would they? When they could just make him ~evil~ and the super stans wont fucking care.
(Here 🍊 have a nice orange for reading all that)
OHH ORANGE *noms* I love oranges okay? And please don't ever feel bad for long asks I love them!
Anyways back to your ask, sorry it took so long to get to, as I said been kind of busy lately and not as active but hey I am catching up again! But you hit the nail on the head nonnie. The issue is that if no one brings up any issues within any piece of media, creators become....well lazy if I'm being honest. As you said, fans gobble up whatever crap they've shoved by MKEK and they're realizing they don't need to put thought or care into what they're making because fans won't complain and continue to sing its praises no matter how poor the quality actually is.
This isn't a fanfic writer writing something for fun because they love something. I say this because people might argue that fanfic writers don't often see criticism of their work but fanfic is inherently different. Fanfic is for fun be people who love writing and want to use that love of writing to explore something they love and want to be apart of more. It's an expression of love for something. For MKEK however RWBY is just their job. It's how they get their paycheck. For work if someone can take a shortcut and get away with it they will because its just a job not something they really are passionate about. Maybe at first they did have a passion, but to me at least these days they seem....bored of RWBY, like they would rather be working on something else but have to work on RWBY so they just don't want to put in the effort anymore.
I see plenty of shit that they could easily cut out to make room for important stuff that needs to happen. But they won't because fluff is easier to write. It doesn't take as much effort to write and they would rather write the stuff that's easy and doesn't take a lot of work over telling a meaningful story.
It's sad to see that it has gotten to this point but that's just kind of how it is. So long story short, criticism is how to hold writers accountable, it lets them no that no, they can't just skimp out on the story because the fans deserve better then that. They deserve a cohesive well written story that treats the characters well. What we got however....was this mess. And it sucks.

while i might come to terms with "maybe he didn't do it on purpose", there have been literally rules implemented bc of max's dangerous driving style... it isn't just one incident, there have been plenty across his career
for the newbies in the f1blr, please look back at max's early seasons (around 2016), everyone knew he's way too aggressive on the track, there where huge discussions about it.
there's a difference btw trying your best within the limits and having no regards for other people's safety bc you're so aggressive that they have no other choice but to yield so they dont crush into you
this difference is what makes some drivers great
anything could happen in abu dhabi, max could even win this championship, the margins are so small the outcome is more down to luck than performance at this point, but even if max wins and the media eats it up like it's cristmas for the next decade, what he showed this season is that he hasn't matured, he hasn't learned from his mistakes (like everyone was trying to say back then, that he's just a kid, he'll learn... well he hasn't), he is still the same 17 year old who came in f1 (after skipping the feeder series, which i think was a big mistake in his upbringing as a racing driver) with an excessively dangerous driving style and who no one agrees with or even wants to race with on track
to be honest with you, i cant even hate max that much in the aftermath of things bc i know that this behaviour is down to his dad, who is a piece of shit (dont even try to tell me im wrong, bc im not) and max was abused growing up, and it's evident in his driving style, that is how his dad taught him and it's such a same bc max really is fast and he has great talent
i remember not liking max when he came in f1 bc of his driving, he got a lot of hate for it, rightfully so, and i thought "maybe he could pull this around, he's just a kid, i'd hate to dislike him"
and then he seemed to have settled down a bit, took his role as a leader in the team, stayed out of trouble on track, red bull kicked his dad out of paddock so max could be in his own bubble and i thought "look at that, he did it, i knew he could grow on me, this is nice"
but i see all was for nothing, he finally had a car to challenge lewis and he went back to his dad for advise (for me that's the only reason why jos is so often in the paddock this season) and it shows what influence his dad has on him, he finally found himself in a position to obtain what every driver wants, what his dad couldn't do and raised him to do, and he went back to his old ways bc that's how he was taught to race, he doesn't know how to do it differently (the multiple incidents that occured this season show that)... it really is a shame
and idk call me stupid, but by the looks on the pit wall after that contact, i think they also taught max did it on purpose, u could see their life draining out of their faces, if they thought max was innocent, i dont think that is how they would have reacted, they would have been angry with lewis for crashing in the back of him, but not devastated like their mother died in front of them... they knew max did a dumb thing, probably the dumbest of his career
(on a side note tho, I'm impressed by everyone's poker faces right after the race, in the interviews, including max, these drivers have become so good at hiding their feelings in front of the camera, just wow, i guess that shows some maturity, or at least experience)
so in the end, i get that he's your fave guys but you cant turn a blind eye to his on track behaviour, he's not 18 anymore... and although i cant really hate him for it, it doesn't mean i need to agree with how he drives

Do you think Pen Ward is over AT? Like mentally. To my knowledge he isn't part of creating Distant Lands (I'm sure he could have worked on it if he wanted to) and unlike other cartoon creators whose shows have finished he rarely mentions it or draws stuff from it. I don't know if I'm projecting but it seems like Pen has completely moved on from AT and that makes me sad because it makes me think he got so burnt out from it he doesn't care about his most well known work anymore :(
I think you’re projecting a bit. Sure, some creators do get burnt out and eventually want nothing to do with their work (Andrew Hussie), but Pen’s circumstances are different.
Pendleton Ward did get burnt out with AT, but that’s because he was sick of dealing with people at press conferences, Cartoon Network, etc, not because he hated working on the show. Pen was a very private individual. He hated dealing with people on the business side of things, he just wanted to be a writer.
He stayed in the writer’s room until much later, the end of Season 6.
He did leave the show eventually, but he kept storyboarding for it even. Pen also continued to voice act, primarily as LSP, which is probably why they kept bringing LSP back so much from season 7 onwards. They wanted Pen back in the studio!!!!
Around the time that he left, Pen wrote and storyboarded the game “Explore the Dungeon because I Don’t Know”, which was an early peak at some very late-series lore. It was the big reveal of PB’s age and origin, and it contains tons of material relating to the shift in tone of the later seasons. It makes me think that the show went EXACTLY in the direction he wanted it to.
In fact the eps he worked on  are some of the most unsettling of all:
Bad Timing, which has LSP bombing a castle and killing her love interest, a joke about eating cyanide gum if youre captured by raiders, and drinking to cope, with one of the most surprisingly heartbreaking endings of the series. This ep is to this day unresolved - Johnny is permanently stuck in the other dimension, and LSP has still forgotten his existence, and Peebs still knows all about what happened but can’t do shit. Also what ARE those little guys? Are they micro bacteria? They are definitely a Pen Ward idea.
High Strangeness. This is the one where Tree Trunks is in a relationship with an alien and she has alien kids, but one of PB’s rockets crashes into the space ship and infects it with little pink best buds, who tear the aliens to pieces. TT stages a coup and wants guns and makes “fascist!” signs, PB retreats the program, and says she only did it because she thinks Ooo’s going to get destroyed. Pb’s anxieties are resolved by TT sending her space husband away with the tiny rocket for 40 years, and... uhh.... Ooo getting destroyed in the future. Oh and poor Mr Pig found out at the end. He didn’t seem happy. I love this episode so much.
Imaginary Resources. This ep won a fucking Emmy! Pen Ward co-storyboarded this and it takes place in VR, because it turns out the Humans built an entire island of people who wanted to escape to virtual reality. They’ve become consumed by it and need to keep using it to cope, their bodies no longer fit to move around freely. And how is this conflict resolved? BMO repairs the VR system and sends them all back to their slumber, where they live the rest of their days.  The thing all 3 of these eps have in common is they dont have a neat lil bow wrapped on them by the end. They’re not neatly resolved, and the dark situations still exist.  Johnny is still dead and it’s up to the viewer to decide whether reverting LSP was the right thing to do, Ooo is still going to get destroyed but there’s hope the candy people can rebuild elsewhere, and the people are still stuck in the VR world where they’re happy but unable to experience the joys of real life.
Anyway I’m getting ahead of myself. What I meant to say is that Adventure Time getting really grim and uncomfortable with a sugary coating on the top is a Pen Ward thing, and I think it retained a lot of his identity up to the very end. I bring this up because lots of people argue it changed a lot under Muto, when in reality he just expanded on Pen’s ideas. Pen was still in the writer’s room for the entire season 5 and 6 breakup arc, for example.
And as I said, he has been constantly involved on the voice acting side of things. I think if he truly wanted nothing to do with it, he’d tell them to involve LSP less, but he seems overjoyed to play as her!
But if you’re talking about his twitter... it’s no surprise he doesn’t engage there. Historically, none of the AT crew have talked much on twitter about the show. Even Adam Muto, who could go on making AT eps for quite some time before giving up, doesn’t talk to anyone about the show on social media. It’s a big fandom, and the crew NEVER were that open. They’d occasionally talk on stuff like Formspring, but it’s a bit redundant to do so these days.
I don’t think it’s terrible. I know what it’s like to be in fandoms where the crew talk FAR too much.
I do miss the days of watching Pen, Steve, Andy and Jesse banter on twitter.
Pen probably at this point wants to move forward with new projects. Imagine looking back at your old art all the time, you’d feel embarrassed!

Hi elle, regarding your response to Max anon. I think Max is just an easy person to hate. Because he's harsh, he's just bluntly honest and he has an i dont care all attitude. He has a foul mouth, and he does things without thinking. I agree with you, that he definitely deserves a lot of the heat he receives, but to the extend that people will hate him for breathing?? i don't think so. Its important we criticise him for the bad things he's done, but i see people apologising for even posting about him, get death threats for supporting him. They don't only hate Max, they hate people who support him and I feel its all gotten out of hand, no?
He's aggressive, you're right, in both driving and during the times we can see him (i wont say off track bcs idk Max so idk how he is); but Charles is also aggressive in his driving, he's gone for a gap that's not there so many times and no one says he's a shit driver like they did Max—Of course, Charles just has to mature in his driving, evidently Max is now less rash and reckless in his driving, its something you learn over time. He's aggressive when he kicks the car, the wall, when he swears on radio when he loses a pole or his car isn't working, I agree. I hate that he is too. He swears a lot especially to GP, but GP still has a good relationship with him. Daniel has destroyed his and Max's driver's room in anger and I haven't seen any criticism for it. Drivers have told their engineers to "fucking shut up" when they're racing and no one cares. Your analogy, is terrible, forgive me, because if Max actually hits someone (im aware he's pushed Esteban) no one would say that.
And thing is, Carlos has done equally (or even more) worse and he doesn't get flamed on for every word he says. (Im talking about the chinese restaurant video) why? because he's charming and he's pretty and "he's so funny when he's when lando!!" It's easy to forgive Carlos, to say, oh it's a one off, when he clearly still supports far right wing political parties.
Infact, you dislike Kimi because he is cold and straightforward or always being blunt at his engineers. Ever wonder why that is? Is it because he's unlikeable or because he fails to meet the standard of expectation of pleasantries? Plus, this is just what the media show of him, its his persona, its the "Oh, Kimi" thing people will eat up. Are u justified to dislike it, yeah, but does that mean Kimi is a shit person? no. If anything, it shows, we as humans, are biased to our own opinions. You dislike Kimi because he's not a person you would gravitate to in general (sans the iron cross thing), evident from your rant. No one has a problem with that because u disliking one person doesn't hurt anyone. ((People hating Max, and in turn, hating people who don't hate Max, hurts other people, but thats not something i blame you for))
This is very long but I just dont like the inconsistency, i think you're free to dislike whoever you want, to not support them, to criticise the dumb shit they do (which there's a lot for Max) but you have to be consistent to everyone, no ? Im not just saying this bcs I like Max, infact, he isn't even a fav of mine, and i can easily say he can be such a piece of shit and at times is a piece of shit but its only him that gets this treatment. Maybe think about why that is.
(for anyone wondering about the context for this ask, go here) hey Anon! I’m going to be really honest with you; I’m honestly not too sure what you’re trying to tell me. you said you agree with me on the fact that Max deserves a lot of the heat he receives, but I never said that. that’s an assumption, because when you read through the answer, you can see I never said that. I do agree with you that it’s gotten way out of hand and that people shouldn’t get death threats for supporting Max, that’s just ridiculous and I agree with you on the fact that that’s gotten way out of hand.
“he’s aggressive, you’re right”, I never said that. I use the word aggressive when talking about myself, but never about Max. the anon who asked me the question did mention Max being aggressive, but I didn’t. in the whole answer I never talked about the way Max drives, because I was talking about his character. telling me that Charles drives aggressive too… what is that even referring to? I never mentioned driving. (and if you want to know, drivers driving aggressively is fine by me, most of the time they only mess with their own race by doing that, so honestly… be my guest). if Daniel destroyed his and Max’ driving rooms, then of course I don’t approve of that. but the reason you’re not seeing any criticism because of that is probably because it happened years ago. the only thing I mentioned in the answer was Max saying slurs, I didn’t even mention him pushing Esteban and the reason I mentioned Max saying slurs was because it happened half a year ago. “if Max actually hits someone (im aware he's pushed Esteban) no one would say that.” say what? I don’t know what you mean by this. “Carlos has done equally (or even more) worse and he doesn’t get flamed on for every word he says”, first of all: I think everyone should decide for themselves if Carlos has done worse or not. second of all: I’m not the only person in this fandom, am I? you’re constantly switching between ‘you’ and talking about the fandom in general, why are you shifting the blame onto me? I’m not the spokesperson for this fandom. I mentioned many, many times before that I believe my opinion does not weigh more heavily than other people’s opinions do. “Infact, you dislike Kimi because he is cold and straightforward or always being blunt at his engineers. Ever wonder why that is? Is it because he's unlikeable or because he fails to meet the standard of expectation of pleasantries?” yes, that is literally why I dislike him. because he has characteristics that I do not like in a person. “Are u justified to dislike it, yeah, but does that mean Kimi is a shit person? no.” I never said that. literally, never ever said that. I never talk about Kimi, ever. the only reason why I mentioned I didn’t like him is because somebody asked why I never post about him. somebody asked, so I gave my honest opinion. I didn’t “rant”, I literally answered a question. I’m sorry, but what you are saying doesn’t make any sense. with “the inconsistency”, what do you mean? like I said before, I literally ignore drivers that I don’t like. somebody asked me a question about Max, just like somebody asked me a question about Kimi, and I answered it in an honest way. that’s all I did. “i think you're free to dislike whoever you want, to not support them, to criticise the dumb shit they do (which there's a lot for Max) but you have to be consistent to everyone, no ?” yes Anon, I’m consistently ignoring them. and saying that I’m allowed to dislike a person and then saying you don’t like me being inconsistent while I am being consistent, doesn’t make any sense. am I only allowed to be consistent if that fits your agenda?
“your analogy is terrible, forgive me”, I forgive you Anon, because you’re allowed to think that. but maybe your interpretation of it was terrible too, cause half of the things you mention I never said, but are based on assumptions you made. maybe this sounds like I’m a bit pissed off, and that’s because I am, cause you’re putting words in my mouth that I never said, you’re judging my character wrong and I’m sorry Anon, but I really don’t appreciate that, that honestly upsets me.
you know, we should probably just leave it like this. we clearly aren’t having the same conversation. I do hope you’re having a good day!
