Like I'll read HSY/JHW fic and enjoy it, if you wrote me a good pitch you'd probably get me fully on board with it, I just think that TO ME their relationship is better as (this is gonna sound so "they're not gay they just have a brotherly bond!" im so sorry) two very different people who did NOT get along in any sense and still pushed that all aside and cooperated for the sake of something bigger than them both. Subscorp headcanons?

Alright, I’m gonna give headcanons another stab. You didn't specify whether or not you wanted nsfw hcs so I’m keeping these sfw!

• The general consensus is that these two absolutely do NOT do PDA and are very reserved in public. I think that's mostly true If you're comparing them to a couple that isn't a pair deeply traumatized warriors. They've got their own subtle version of PDA that's loud and clear to their friends though. They touch each other often. Innocent gestures like clapping each other’s shoulders or bumping elbows. If you pay attention they're almost always standing close enough to brush arms. Hanzo's scowl is positively neutral when Kuai Liang is around which might as well be a dramatic declaration of love honestly. 

• Training together, sparring especially, is sacred to them. There was a time they only clashed in life or death struggles. In the bedroom there's obviously a lot of vulnerability, but there's something immense about them being able to trust each other to get that close with weapons drawn. It's a testament to how far they've come. Hanzo still gets a little emotional about it. 

• They're rarely seen in casual clothing, but when they are they make sure to wear each other’s respective colors. Or just straight up each other’s clothes. They both wear a size dummy thicc so fit isn't a problem. Kuai Liang cracks the biggest, brightest grin when Hanzo wears his jackets. 

• People are often shocked to find out Hanzo paints, Kuai Liang included. Hanzo explains that painting is a good medium for him. He doesn't have the time or patience for anything that requires him to painstakingly draw hundreds of little lines. Painting is loose, free, messy. He tends to paint sprawling landscape but will paint people too if he's motivated. Kuai poses for him occasionally. He enjoys watching Hanzo engrossed in the task and finds the rhythmic strokes of the paint brush relaxing. It's like having his own in person Bob Ross tutorial except the painter is dead sexy and can flip him ass over head in a blink. There's a few of Hanzo's paintings around the Lin Kuei temple.

• They planted a sapling together in the fire gardens. They tend to it religiously. Hanzo says Kuai must always come home to help him care for it or he might forget. He won't, but Kuai always nods very seriously anyways.

Specifically, Hanzo likes his hair brushed. 

• Both of them are good with kids and I will die on this hill. Hanzo had a kid, he knows what's up. Kuai Liang remembers a time when he and Bi-Han were close and how much trouble they could get into as children. Those memories are important to him and he firmly believes children should have the chance to make those kind of good memories. He and Hanzo WILL square up with shitty parents. Despite his temperament, people who know him absolutely trust Hanzo to babysit. 

• Oh, these two are big saps by the way. If one needs the other to do something all they need is a well placed and suitably longing "Husband...." , "My love." or "Darling." and the other is putty in their hands.

• Date nights with these two go straight from perfectly normal to a comedy of errors with no in between. They either enjoy a completely uneventful evening or they end up on the local news.
