so ever since i drew that lil thing of essek painting a frank stella inspired painting (or even before), ive been thinking of what kinds of art each of the m9 would do. essek ofc is inspired by a minimalist show that i went to here, all the big names from that movement were shown, but those really dark, sinkhole-like paintings are speaking to me. another artwork of boxes made of mirrors also seems like the thing he would do too

there's a kiln here that we visited which was huge, and surrounding it were artists' studios and some other ceramic sellers, i imagine the clay family having a place like this in the middle of nowhere amongst the trees, and caleb would do his work there

anyways because at heart im a shadowgast luver its centred around them,, they meet at an artist residency or something like that and its an incredibly slow burn that involves talking and not-talking and looking and not-looking. in the end i am but a simple wong kar wai fan so. that kinda vibes would definitely influence this, i would describe it as a quiet burning i guess?? time skipy and words that are not said

i think im gonna rant a bit more about their different mediums and styles so i'll keep it under the cut

i think caleb sculpts figures and portraits, but in a sad, kathe kollwitz charcoal vibe. maybe some funky looking animals, perhaps some pots and vases to look at the pretty glazes. he's interested in using fire to burn texture into different mediums, like ive seen it being used on shellac to make a really cool net of ink looking structure.. but yknow, just seeing the aftermath of glazed ceramic from the kiln is enough, and probably better for him to keep his distance anyways

the clay family produces most of the ceramic to sell, vases, pots, plates, cups, teapots, yknow just a whole array. and its really colourful too, depicting every family members different style. i think caduceus would do some matte glazes with a lot of different colours, theyre all a little wonky but theyre better off that way anyways. he does some really mean ink calligraphy and painting though

jester definitely does,, everything, whatever her heart desires kinda thang. she makes pastel textile installations and lighthearted cute paintings, but theyre always so contemplative and soothing. she gets m9 a lot of work cus her mom has connections, etc etc. i really love the idea of jester creating works that talk about the female body and femininity (definitely not projecting no)

beau is a printmaker and photographer who's really experimental, she loves cyanotypes and printing flowers (for yasha), idk she seems like she would put fabric and rocks into the washing machine to see what would happen. u would probably catch her in someone elses studio learning about what they do or in the library learning about what old people did

veth works in a museum as a curator, getting beau to help her sometimes with gathering artworks and artists etc. she probably organises community art projects for kids and public art installations. her house is full of m9's artworks and various other artists shes worked with.

yasha does bouquets as her post-retirement part time job, prior to that no one really knows what she did ("she probably murdered a bunch of people and is now hiding from the government"). fjord draws comics for fun but is also not a job for him, molly is a question mark for me. but these guys probably wont be in it as much anyways

im still not sure what format i wanna do this in, im actually having fun just writing it in my notebook now (digital does not facilitate the creative juices) but i do want to do some visuals like fake movie stills or storyboards. maybe they will work together well???? dunno. working on the other shadowgasty thing im doing made me realise how much easier it is to draw when there's a script already there, so im writing the script for myself

im definitely not as practiced in writing as i am in drawing, but idk im just gonna have some fun and see where that takes me, meanwhile try not to feel too bad that its fanart HAHA (very bad habit)

and i have like a whole thing about the cannibalism that ive sent to someone before that im not rewording and typing so im just pasting it -> sneeg ate frank which is caused by a whole thing in itself right because slimecicle wasnt feeding him in the cage and he didnt even get through the cooking show where slimecicle tried to feed ranboo like twice but even if he did get that far he probably wouldnt have eaten any of it anyway with how he talks about slimecicle right. and its more or less implied that sneeg had been in the cage with franks body for atleast a little while and he would still have to eat something. and slimecicles a cannibal so why would he even bring sneeg food in the cage when theres already food in there with him? and even if you were to ignore all that sneeg was still the only one that consistently ate throughout episode two. and its really implied that all the food in general is organs n such just under a filter because slimecicle was eating it and then in episode two in the candy room when vinny tries the candy he spits it out and says its disgusting but sneeg didnt have a problem with it he was eating the entire time they were in there. sneeg knew frank before he died and if you take the "everything about the characters is a metaphor for how media portrays things" seriously you can assume that they were in love with eachother which leads to really the main reason i think showfall would kill frank and not bring him back like they do with everyone else because evidently theyre homophobic. anyway you put sneeg in that cage with franks body and nothing to eat he will eventually have to eat frank to stay alive whether he even knew frank was dead or not. and cannibalism can be a metaphor for so much like sure i guess from a meta perspective you can take the cannibalism in the show as a metaphor for how audiences just take and take but in universe they really are eating people. and innocent cannibalism is traumatic and awful and would add the layer to the characters that everyone always talks about but i really do think the idea of sneeg eating franks body is so much more compelling than charlie unknowingly eating some guts that was served to him. cannibalism isnt an easy thing it takes hands and teeth and bravery and you really do have to be set on it to do it. and it wasnt like he could leave the body after eating or get rid of it or anything and no matter what kind of cannibalism it was he still was carrying around whatever was left of frank and talking to it like frank had never died at all and in the bad hat scene when the filter broke for sneeg he had to have seen that frank was dead and fucked up from getting eaten. and with the idea that they were in love you can take the cannibalism as a metaphor for it because even after frank was permanently dead he wouldnt leave sneeg because sneeg ate him and its not like showfall could just undo that even with how powerful they are they could never undo that sneeg had bloodied himself and touched and tore and consumed and loved frank no matter how many times they reset him or how many times they kill him in gruesome ways

Ok i would LOVE TO but for once I don't have inspiration for a friggin oc for this fandom. Normally my oc inspiration comes from "you know what would be a neat way to make the canon characters lives even MORE torture? (Ex: Sydney picking on the animatronics, Sneep Snorp with. Well. Yknow) but this show. It does it for me. Its so satisfying tbh but also that means I don't do it for em. They've already got a fun villain pileup that's just getting even more fun as they keep on piling, they already torment one of my favs (sorry lila) a good amount....

((Actually Billie (ice cream gal) was originally a draft for a spooky month oc specifically to brawl with Frank (the dude in the white van) bc they'd both have a van gimmick, and Ethan was going to work with the cops, but I thought they both fit far better in Earth Day rather than Spooky Month... I MEAN THEY FIT IN SPOOKY MONTH TOO and i TEND to eventually put my fandom ocs into personal projects eventually, but i just skipped the fandom step entirely with those two for some reason))

The RnM anime is still in my head. Honest review without spoilerish. Super confusing but love the main characters as usual <3 Morty is sweet and Long Hair Rick makes go ahhhhh. Summer also looked pretty in that one frame ✨ the voices aren't too bad. Rick doesn't sound like Rick but I feel like I'll get use to it tbh. Morty sounds perfect tho!

HE SERVES TIME FOR A WHILE BEFORE EVENTUALLY BEING RELEASED. HE GETS RELEASED INTO THIS FLOATING CITY WHICH IM PRETTY SURE IS CALLED COLUMBIA OR EDEN OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. I THINK ITS EDEN BUT IVE ALSO HEARD COLUMBIA SO JUST ILL USE THEM INTERCHANGEABLY. EDEN COLUMBIA IS RAN BY THIS RELIGIOUS NUT NAMED COMSTOCK

THE CITY BOOKER IS IN IS VERY RACIST AND NOT GOOD, COMSTOCK IS THE BAD KIND OF RELIGIOUS NUT. HE BELIEVES IN CHRISTIANITY BUT LIKE THE NOT GOOD KIND YKNOW THE ONE THAT SAYS GAYS ARENT HUMAN AND POC ARENT HUMAN AND JUST. THE SHITTY BIBLE BASICALLY. THERES A GROUP CALLED THE VOX POPULI THATS MADE UP OF OPPRESSED PEOPLE AND THEYRE LIKE A REBELLION BASICALLY. BOOKER/THE PLAYER HAVE TO CHOOSE WHETHER TO ALIGN THEMSELVES WITH VOX POPULI AND THATS WHERE THE GAME GETS A BIT WEIRD LIKE IT STARTS TO TACKLE RACE BUT ITS TRYING TO ALSO NOT SCARE OFF RACISTS AND BAD NUTTY CHRISTIANS SO BASICALLY ITS JUST A MESS AND IM NOT GONNA GET INTO IT

BOOKER FINDS HIS DAUGHTER BUT DISCOVERS SHES NOW NAMED ELIZABETH AND I THINK WAS RAISED BY COMSTOCK HIMSELF IDK. SHE HAS THIS THING KNOWN AS THE SONGBIRD WHICH IS LITERALLY JUST A HUGE FUCKING MECHANICAL BIRD THATS MADE TO KEEP BOOKER AWAY FROM ELIZABETH. THERES A THING WHERE COMSTOCK DOESNT WANT BOOKER TO FIND ELIZABETH/ANNE FOR REASONS I HAVE NO IDEA, I ACTUALLY KNOW THE LEAST ABOUT BIOSHOCK INFINITE, THIS GAME, OUT OF ALL OF THEM SO TAKE BITS OF THIS INFO WITH GRAINS OF SALT. MOSTLY THE SPECIFICS SO THE BROAD STORY SHOULD BE MOSTLY CORRECT THOUGH

BUT SO THE SONGBIRD KEEPS KICKING BOOKERS ASS AND EVENTUALLY HE DROWNS IT I THINK??? EITHER WAY IT DIES AND YAY DAUGHTER GIRL!!! AND DAUGHTER GIRL IS LIKE YAY DAD MAN!!! AND THEY BEAT UP OLD MAN COMSTOCK.
