I did not know this! I knew they did a Sonic Adventure episode, because I remember seeing that one around the time Sonic Adventure was out and being like "Wow, this is very different, but idc it's more Sonic". But I never knew the whole series was actually made to promote the game So like, I assume it was the same situation as the Archie Comics around that time and the people working on Sonic Underground weren't given any info on Sonic Adventure and had to do their own thing? Except that they didn't have Patrick Spaziante working his hardest with the Japanese translation to figure stuff out?

Sonic Music HCs

Sonic: Punk rock. Punk music tends to be anti-establishment, anti-authoritarian, and often pro-environmentalism. These are all core beliefs of Sonic's, and so the lyrics would resonate with him deeply. Sound-wise, fast guitars and loud drums are his bread and butter. If music doesn't make your blood race and bones rattle, what's the point? He hates ballads; anything too slow or sappy puts him off. (Though, he has sang slower punk songs, such as "Roadside" by Rise Against, to Tails as lullabies when they were younger.)

Tails: Also punk rock, because it's what he grew up listening to thanks to Sonic. Plus, punk rock songs tend to be loud and busy enough to provide his brain with the stimulation necessary to allow him to focus on one project at a time. That said, Tails is fine with most music and thinks there's something to like in just about any genre.

Knuckles: Honestly could not remember ever hearing a song even once in his life before traveling down to the surface for the first time. Sure, birds would sing and chao would bang on drums, but a full on song? No. That said, when he IS introduced to music he likes instrumental hip-hop. Songs with lyrics frustrate him if he can't tell what the lyrics are, so he likes instrumentals with nice beats.

Amy: Amy loves anything you can dance to. Pop and hip-hop are the big ones, but she also thinks swing music and jazz can be really fun to listen and dance to, too. She's pretty amiable about music too, but she doesn't like anything that sounds depressing or moody. Bright, fun, happy songs are her style.

Cream: On the record, Cream only listens to classical music that Vanilla introduced to her basically as soon as she was born. Off the record she also listens to everything Amy listens to, and is very invested in learning all the dance routines.

Big: Has no preferences really, basically anything is fine with him, but he does have an impressive collection of bluegrass albums.

Shadow: His music taste was cultivated fifty years ago on the Space Colony ARK when Maria would play her favorite records and he would listen to them with her. However, listening to those songs now hurts him in a way he doesn't want to deal with, so he doesn't. He also thinks most modern music sounds like garbage, so honestly, he just doesn't listen to music period. That said, he does enjoy a wide variety of podcasts, from trivia and history ones to true crime ones. He doesn't like talking to people, but he does like to listen to people talking to other people who aren't him.

Rouge: She likes whatever is most advantageous to like in the given moment. She has a vast array of music knowledge so she can con her way into any fan space or event. That said, the music playing most often in her bar is R&B or oldies.

Omega: He likes listening to things like recordings of car crashes, building and tank explosions, malfunctioning machinery, air raid sirens, etc. He insists this counts as music. Rouge advises against arguing with him, and Shadow hopes you try.

Vector: He's a ska man through and through, but he does dabble in a wide array of other genres too, to expand his music education. The only thing he won't touch is EDM. He thinks Omega's car crash recordings have more musical merit than EDM.

Espio: Espio claims to only listen to indie artists that most people have never heard of and Charmy says he made up on the spot. When asked to describe the genre, he never can. He actually listens to a mixture of emo rock and rap.

Charmy: Pop, but specifically the Kidz Bop versions because Vector doesn't want to have to explain cuss words, and also because Espio hates Kidz Bop with a passion. He also likes EDM when he's mad at Vector for something.

Whisper: Lo-fi is her absolute favorite; it calms her down even in her worst mental health moments. But she also used to be a big fan of alt rock, and the wisps remember how she has a beautiful deep register for R&B.

Tangle: Just about everything and anything, but power metal is a particular fave and it's her dream to be able to play "Through the Fire and Flames" on a real guitar. (Note: she does not know how to play guitar.) She will lose her voice screaming metal at karaoke and will go right back to do it again the next night.

Jewel: Also a fan of power metal; similar music taste is one of the first things she and Tangle bonded over. She's fine with other music, but when she's listening to music while serenely completing paperwork, there's power metal shredding in her earbuds.

Lanolin: She likes a smattering of different things, but her go-tos tend to be more indie / alternative fares. Think things like Sleeping at Last for instance. Heavy guitars and drums aren't her style: she prefers more melodic pieces.

Eggman: EDM. If it isn't made by machines, he doesn't think it's worth listening to.

Starline: Only the most distinguished classicals; nothing low-brow peasants would listen to. Eggman's taste in "music" was the only turn-off Starline had.

Surge: Thrash metal, speed metal—if it is loud, aggressive, and full of screaming, she is all over it. She hates anything sentimental, slow, or sweet.

Kit: Thrash metal and speed metal, because that's all Surge will listen to, and the idea of listening to something else on his own has never occurred to him.

I was playing a lot of Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, and have been rollerblading more now that the weather's gotten nicer, so now I've got skating on the brain 😛 Also I recently rediscovered my Sonic Rush obsession, it's been making me want to draw Blaze more often- she is very underrated imo, my favorite Sonic character deserves more love~ Anyway my two interests collided and now we have ourselves a skateboarding Blaze 😎🔥(and no, I've never played Sonic Riders before).

I was debating what kind of skating gear I should give her for this drawing (rollerblades, BMX, etc.), I settled on a skateboard since there's a level in SRA where she and Sonic use snowboards, it's the next closest thing.��

Also here's some fun trivia for you: Hideki Naganuma composed the OST for the Rush series, he also made a few soundtracks in Bomb Rush Cyberfunk (and of course the Jet Set series that it was inspired by, which is what most people know him from)- I just learned that Blaze is also his favorite Sonic character as well! It can only mean one thing... my girl was destined be a skater kid >BD

Refraction of a Shadow:

Story takes place after Sonic Heroes but before SHTH 2005. Emerald and I go back and forth about how it's like Shadow The Hedgehog (2) in the sense that there's multiple endings but also like Sonic Adventure (3) where you'd follow different characters in overarching stories with different perspectives. It was, at first, a fun idea about what it'd be like if Terios (The prototype of Shadow during sa2's development) were to exist within Sonic canon. This rides off how Shadow NEVER joins GUN and as a result, they seek to create their own "Shadow" of sorts, as a basis for a robotic/organic army (Since Shadow never joined them, they view him as a potential threat, both politically in how they're responsible for the covered-up ARK deaths and shadow knows and physically, as the Ultimate Lifeform.) Shadow's design is close to how I'd draw him cemented into the Team Dark dynamic; he ditched the white gloves for fingerless black ones and wears red mascara. He's attempting to heal from his experiences and trauma, but this new threat is opening up old wounds.

Oh this guy is just so fucked up

Sa2 but everything is so FUCKED amiRIGHT!! So uh. I'd imagine hurtling towards Earth and losing all your memories after this blue angel of a hedgehog tries to save you. That can kinda..fuck you up. Esp if you're a weird little alien thing. Like...Having to relearn how to be something, how to be personable, and mask (haha...autism) He doesn't remember how he was conditioned by Gerald and Black Doom to train and be the Ultimate Lifeform, and doesn't remember how he grew up with Maria, loving Earth and all the people in it. He doesn't have any of it. He's just a weird little freak of a guy. He's off-putting, doesn't know how to control his chaos energy and black arms DNA, and overall just...Trying his best to re-learn what it's like to be a person. No influences from anybody except himself and Sonic. His design elements are basically Sa2 But With Some Extra Bits. Thousand yard stare, singed from becoming a fucking meteorite, an extra eyeball, messed up little tail, 'n an awkward demeanor. So your average unmasked teenager

I Was a Teenage Werehog:

The anxiety and dread of not being able to remember anything but bits and pieces not your style? How about a werewolf au where I self-indulgently combine everything I love about werewolf stories and their tropes for shits and giggles? No please don't run awa-

Basically Unleashed..2. I was inspired by the zombot arc in the comics and was like "haha what if....werewolves" and it kinda went from there. Shadow is your typical Experiencing Werewolf Issues protagonist, except he's not patient zero. Like instead of the real werewolf protagonist dealing with the pain and turmoil of waking up in a mess of blood knowing that something horribly went wrong for some random joe on the street, you get to see what happened to that guy instead. Shadow keeps things to himself; he's the ultimate lifeform, nothing can hurt him! He fell out of space! He fought THE DEVIL !!! Sonic's fucked up werewolf virus will have no effect on him and his mobian/alien DNA <- Guy who is so wrong and incorrect. For design elements, I purposefully fuddled with his proportions to make them a bit less...?? Sonicy?? ig? To put everybody in clothes that didn't make my head spin in confusion. He's got the hot topic 'fit he's got the mascara he's got the RIPPED JEANS!! He's ready for a gritty 2000s teenage werewolf drama baby!!

Trivia I’ve learned about Shadow while listening to the 2022 Sonic Twitter Takeover (the only one I've listened to so far):

His favorite Chaos Emerald is the purple one because it reminds him of lavender

The beauty of a tiny rock in the shape of a horse was enough to bring a tear to his eye

His favorite dessert is tiramisu on a cold night with a warm coffee (he says there's no better combination)

Uses gender neutral language when referring to a potential romantic partner (insert pennysnapcube sonic voice "whoa, he's bisexual, I didn't know that!")

However, he has a strict set of rules for any potential partner (A) they must help him iron his linens nightly, (B) they have to cook food exactly like they did on the ARK (which according to Eggman means he likes his food dried and stale; turns out he wasn't kidding), and (C) they keep in mind that he has a 20-step skin-care routine

Related to the above he eats cereal dry

Okay so turns out he's a big fan of lavender in general as he said in the 2021 takeover that he smells like it and he offers to meet a potential suitor with a bouquet of them (lavender's his thing now)

He eats raw coffee beans with a spoon (because water dilutes the flavor and he wants coffee not "coffee flavored water". Also the best things in life have a crunch. Which means he's eating the previously mentioned tiramisu with warm raw coffee beans)

He's a Swiftie

He volunteers at his local soup kitchen as he's been thinking a lot about what Maria would have wanted. Unfortunately he hadn't been there in a few days as his cooking isn't very popular (apparently they had some rather uh... choice words about it)

Doesn't like water that's too "minerally" (same)

thinks Chainsaw Man sounds awesome

He's raising a Dark Chao that he plans on protecting with his life (oh my god 🥺)

Ok, so I had some thoughts while looking through your au.

Are their personalities different due to how their pasts are different?

And, I’m pretty sure, there were like ancient depictions of a form looking like Sonic saving the world and stuff so I wonder if like sonic was “destined” to be the hero but in this case that isn’t the role he had. Meaning Tails has to prove to himself and others that despite what destiny tried to say, he is a hero.

These are very good thoughts and there are a quite few differences in personality so I’m just gonna do this in sections:

Sonic:

Sonic’s not too different to how he is in canon, I think swap sonic still has like the same demeanour and attitude, like they’re not that different in terms of being pretty chill, too cool for school and generally being a little shit

He leans more into the piloting thing and he likes to fly fast. Do not insult his piloting skills unless you wanna annoy him

no one really expects him to be a super genius they’re always caught off guard by it when says something really scientific just casually (except the people who are just used to it)

He tends a danger to himself most of the time, being sent to the hospital every couple of weeks cuz of of his experiments, inventions or just straight up forgetting he fit the blowtorch on the floor. (A lot of the times is a some dumb stuff that he does for ‘science’)

Zero sense of self preservation and a tendency to just casually play off injuries (“Relax shadow, all the bleeding was internal, that’s where the blood’s supposed to be-“)

filled with lots of energy and from the lack of usage of his speed to let some of it out, always constantly moving. Constant leg bouncing disease and rambling at record speeds (only tails can understand him the most when he’s in ramble mode). He’s also a really fast thinker

When his speed is brought up he gets a bit visibly uncomfortable and changes the subject, pretending that it never happened

Hes bad at taking compliments, he just brushes it off and tries to either discredit himself or awkwardly change the subject. When he was younger he was even worse

The boy would not see sun in days if allowed to hyperfocus on inventing, tails often has to drag his ass outside when that happens

He’s more confident & independent from doing hero stuff and travelling

He’s a huge history nerd, whenever they go to angel island he ignores sonic & knuckles he goes straight for the ruins.

Tails’s 8 year old brain at some point just comes to the conclusion that he straight up can't die cuz after everything he's been through he's still alive and so Tails slowly becomes more reckless with his well-being because of it much to sonic’s chagrin

This kid is really curious, you would be surprised how many of his adventures started out as innocent curiosity. He gets side tracked a lot because of it. (Once Sonic asked him to go get some groceries from the supermarket, returned in gold armor with a sword and a country. He forgot the groceries)

He reads a lot of comic books for catchphrase and megamind voice presentation.

People often underestimate him due to his age and adorable appearance and he uses it to his advantage

Cusses frequently

Does not hold back on insults. Someone could be debating whether or not to fight this eight year old but then he opens his mouth and they’re like “nah, the kid deserves it.” And squares up

Destined hero thingy

Tail’s definitely did have to prove to others and himself that he was a hero despite it not being destiny, and sonic had to prove that just because he was ‘destined’ to be a hero doesn’t mean that has to do it it in a way that’s foretold of be a hero at all

But despite this Tails does have a bit of imposter syndrome and feels like, despite all that he’s achieved, he doesn’t deserve to be called the ‘hero of mobius’.

He was just a little kid who wanted to help

But sonic called bullshit on that and told him that’s exactly why deserves to be called a hero, a little kid standing up against seemingly impossible odds and challenges over and over again just because it’s the right thing to do.

I’m thinking that maybe the prophecy will come into play later down the line but I’m still deciding

Season 3 No Album Release (Read More) Daniel's Kruis (Main Theme) - Indie Pogo

For all the faux-deep analysis I do on here, for all the intricate readings into rips to find meaning that many times ABSOLUTELY wasn't there (Fun trivia: I learned recently that Joke-Explainer™ 7000 Fusion Collab starting with a song from Pokémon RSE was not meant to be a reference, it was complete coincidence), for all the musings on lore and theming and emotional highs...it's just as nice to cover rips that are pure, simple fun. Especially when they're from Dead Line in particular! The ripper is no stranger to being featured on here, and the running theme in rips like Medley Rush #7, vs SAYU (Based Version), and indeed also RipStarter, is that he's got a real knack for wearing his heart on his sleeve in a way that can be properly felt in the rips.

With this affection in mind, it should come as no surprise that both Sonic Rush and No Straight Roads are among Dead Line's favorite games (not to mention the copious amounts of Super Monkey Ball rips they've made that I'm yet to cover, with the game being their all-time favorite!). Yet Indie Pogo, the game featured today is a bit of a different case - Dead Line himself directly contributed to the game's development! I'm unfortunately unaware if them joining the development team happened before or after RipStarter released, but be it retroactively or not, that extra bit of involvement makes the rip feel all the more sweet. It's a love letter to a project Dead Line felt even more attached to than most, one they went above and beyond to celebrate when, comparatively, it still wasn't really much of a smash hit success in terms of sales. As a mixless rip of the main theme, RipStarter aims to be the DEFINITIVE Indie Pogo rip - something that I absolutely believe it achieves.

I mean, there's things to gush about right as things begin. The melodyswap to The Noble Haltmann is fantastic on its own, but paired with the custom-made visuals of Susie Haltmann bouncing as if she were a character in the game herself, it allows the rip to almost feel as if this is how the SiIvaGunner channel itself would be represented in IndiePogo. All topped off with the use of Dead Line's dearly beloved Sonic Rush samples, a trademark immediately reminding us of who's behind the rip. And like, it's honestly fun around to just watch Susie bounce around to that edit alone! Rip visuals don't need to be as absolutely out-of-this-world as ULTRA S+G to enhance a rip, and the good vibes that RipStarter already has are just amplified by the good time Susie and friends are having. And friends? Yes! Because after just a minute or so, Soulja Boy and PSY one by one join in on the rip, expanding it into both a melody swap and a mashup. Both Soulja and PSY are some of the most popular mashup sources to use for a reason - its incredibly difficult to make them sound bad - and their contributions here only add to the fun vibe the rip already has whilst bringing very fun animations in tow.

Truth be told, much like many of Dead Line's favorite games, I have no real connection to Indie Pogo. Yet the guy's affection and care for the game is too sincere to not understand - the good vibes of RipStarter transcends needing to care about the indie game its from to work as an effective good time. It warms my heart to see Dead Line continue to push their interests with full force like this even as recently as Season 7, and I can't wait to get to learn about more incredibly cool games in the future because of that initiative.

I really like how almost everyone at this point knows that chili dogs are Sonic's thing and now the team are trying to make it so that Tails and Knux's favorite foods are more well known now

ive seen some people talk like tails liking mints was introduced in the twitter takeovers and knuckles liking grapes was introduced in the movies even though those have been canon facts since the 90s. just goes to show how rarely it was brought up until now i guess. i love learning little trivia facts about the characters though they should bring this stuff up more often outside of the twitter takeovers

Ahh here we have introductions to Catalina's sonic scream, Radu's super hearing and strength, Bova's electricity. Big second episode energy.

Radu walks in on Harlan recording in his journal about his stardog father - We learn that he was killed by Andromedans during the Spung-Andromedan war and that's why he and Radu are always on "shaky ground." I really want to know more about the war and the circumstances of Harlan's father's death - and what makes him a "legendary stardog."

Catalina's dead parents! 😭

Thelma's charade gag is gold.

Look at Catalina's little non-hug with Thelma! So interesting and cute and also why?? Jewel Staite is just so good as Catalina. All of the child actors are really good - I think in comparison, Goddard and Davenport can be a little too hammy at times.

I also think it's interesting how much they are trying to show that Harlan and Catalina have a lot in common. I headcanon it as them eventually growing in to a really good command team - though considering that this IS a TV show, they are teenagers, male and female, butt heads a lot...probably leading to a future will-they-won't-they romance that was cut short by Jewel Staite leaving the show.

Another good ep - nice to learn more about the crew and we got some Harlan/Radu tension which I absolutely eat up.

Melody Spirit is a kindhearted siren; she loves to sing in front of ponies to make them happy. Melody loves her sisters very much, although she sometimes views Adagio as her mother while she sees Aria and Sonata as her sisters, due to her having few little memories of their real mother before she passed away when she was a foal, but overall, she is very close with them. She also became curious about the surface world of the ponies due to her living in the sea most of her life in Equestria, so she became curious about the human world her sisters now reside in and wants to learn more about it.

Trivia:

• Due to the Sirens aging a little slower than ponies and humans, it explains why Melody's earth pony form and teenage human form looks so young, but in reality, Melody, along with her sisters, are a thousand years old.

• Even though Melody feeds on positive and negative energy to make her sing more powerful, she prefers to feed on positive energy than negative energy. She only feeds on negative energy while using her singing to stop ponies from fighting or having an argument.

Besides the obvious differences due to my updated style:

- I changed his first name from Phantom to Ghost because I liked how the latter one sounded; to not change it completely, his proper name is Phantom Wail with Ghost being a nickname that is often used.

I actually wanted to draw his face in 3/4 view but it didn't want to turn right for some reason.

Trivia: The name Ghost Wail is a reference to Danny Phantom's Ghostly Wail; Ghost has an ability similar to it.

Ghost was born in Fillydelphia in the middle of winter and, since an early age, he has faced bullying due to either being both a Thestral and albino. He has always been interested in music and earned his Cutie Mark from learning to play by ear. Shortly after the birth of his little brother, Ghost's family moved to the Night Pony town of Lunar Haven, where he still faced some bullying due to his albinism. Recently, his family moved to Ponyville, where he finally made some friends who don't mind his appearance. He even formed a band with them, playing bass guitar.

Ghost is nice and friendly though somewhat wary of new ponies due to past bullying. He is a bit of a daredevil when flying but has enough common sense to not be overly reckless. Due to experiencing it, Ghost hates bullying and prejudice and will not hesitate to help someone who is suffering. He is also not fond of pears or bright lights, as the latter hurt his eyes. Ghost loves music, especially Rock 'n' Roll and Dubstep, as well as stunt flying and strawberry smoothies. Like most thestrals, he reveres Princess Luna.

Ghost might be bi but has not had a chance to explore what his preferences might be.

Ghost is a very skilled musician, able to learn a new song just my listening to the music a few times. He is also quite agile and acrobatic while flying. Ghost also has the ability to produce a powerful sonic screech attack that can disorient other beings.

Issue 2 of Imposter Syndrome came out today, so let’s talk about it!

So Starline reveals that once he overthrows Eggman and becomes the biggest threat to the rest of the planet, he wants Eggman to re-join him and have them work together to take over the world once again. 

Afterward, we have this really cool scene with Kit right here...

Lesson learned, never mess with Surge, or Kit will end you.

Surge is okay though, so her and Kit continuing fighting before...

Also, that’s it for Issue 2 of Imposter Syndrome! This was also our first Issue of 2022, and I think this was a pretty good issue to start with!

One last bit of trivia I found out while skimming through the letters and stuff at the end is that they actually confirmed that Surge and Kit having water and electric powers are in fact a nod to Sonic not liking water and Tails being scared of lightning, which I think is pretty cool. Also, on the topic of pretty cool...

we totally can!! infodump about this gaslighting gatekeeping girlboss is under the cut as always

sweet woman was commissioned by a super classy french dessert restaurant called the orgueilleux pâtisserie [orgueilleux being very poorly google translated french for elitist/snobbish lmao], acting as both a chef and a mascot! the gimmick worked wonders for the restaurant's popularity, with rich people coming in droves to experience the novelty of food prepared with a robot master's help, and she was quickly promoted to social media manager as well as her original duties. despite her cutesy demeanour, she's much smarter than she looks, and is equipped with an in-depth understanding of chemical reactions and inhumanly accurate sense of timing and spatial awareness. she knows hundreds of recipes and most of them cost several hundred dollars to make

her personality is more deliberately engineered than most robot masters, designed to fit her appearance and be marketable. she's unwaveringly cheerful, incredibly extroverted, and just silly enough that it's cute rather than grating. she plays these traits up a lot for the cameras, exaggerating her energy and playing dumb when it'll appeal to the masses, but even when she doesn't have her public image to consider she's a bubbly and energetic goof. she's a stubborn optimist, and if she can't find a bright side to look on she'll take out a flashlight and make one. her optimisim makes for a good workplace morale boost and an even better social media presence, although when combined with her ditziness and being a bit out of touch from almost exclusively interacting with the 1% it often makes her come across as insensitive

since she's in the spotlight a lot, most of sweet's hobbies and interests outside of work are still carefully selected to match her public image and look good on an instagram post. she has a passing interest in shopping and fashion, and enjoys going to parties and gatherings and what have you to meet new people. she also loves to experiment with cooking and come up with new recipes, some of which end up on the orgueilleux menu. she does, however, have a private interest in chemistry! as mentioned earlier she knows a fair bit about it already, since cooking is just chemistry with a restricted set of substances, and in her own time she ended up getting curious and reading into the sort of reactions that arise from chemicals she doesn't work with. she rarely mentions this interest herself, but she gets super excited if someone brings it up or gives her the excuse to talk about it, and it's probably listed as super secret trivia about her on the pâtisserie website

unlike other robot masters, sweet has an acute sense of both smell and taste! [since robots seem to only use e-tanks for fuel, there's not much benefit to smelling or tasting things, so i personally believe that most of them don't have those senses unless it'd directly benefit their job.] being able to actually taste the food she cooks makes it much easier to tell if she's doing it right, especially if she's trying to come up with something new. she's also capable of replenishing her energy by eating - it's less efficient than e-tanks, but she thinks they taste gross so she always opts for actual food. fittingly, she has a massive sweet tooth, but she's accustomed to only the highest-class dining and dislikes cheaper or less 'refined' tastes

her magical girl vibe, brought to you by someone who has watched maybe 4 episodes of anime that weren't sonic x, is entirely an aesthetic and marketing gimmick rather than serving any functional purpose. she'll play it up for promotional videos and photoshoots, twirling her fork-trident thing and striking dramatic poses and calling out thematically appropriate attack names like 'sparkling sugar swirl' and 'cinnamon whirlwind' whenever she does anything, but it's mostly for show. while she genuinely enjoys the shouting and posing and twirling, she massively tones it down when she's not performing, maybe occasionally saying an attack name at a reasonable volume while she works. her fork-trident thing isn't even a real weapon, magical or otherwise. it's just styrofoam with metallic paint on it

sweet's weakness to harpoon shot was decided before i figured out exactly what tide man's weapon would be, going on the idea that getting food wet tends to make it sad and gross. this logic doesn't quite carry over with harpoon shot being, well, a harpoon rather than something specifically water-based, but i imagine shooting a cake with a harpoon would also be a very one-sided battle so this weapon wheel makes sense i promise. i guess you could also make the argument that it's because sweet is only experienced with a fake pronged weapon made of foam and would be completely blindsided by a real one? maybe it's that tide is so staunchly anticapitalist that his weapon inherently vibe checks her? i'm grasping at straws a bit over here but listen, if mega man 5 can insist that water is elementally weak to trains, i can insist that it's elementally strong against the french

i think her stage could be some kind of factory! lots of conveyer belts definitely, maybe some crushing hazards, definitely a few mets. the idea there is that she's seized a major food processing plant and is using that position to wreck the regional supply chain. even when she's evil, she basically keeps the exact same personality she shows to the public with only a noticable capitalism upgrade. she has pretty much no combat abilities on her own, but at her own suggestion she was upgraded to shoot a specially formulated icing that's acidic enough to burn through thin metal, finally putting her interest in chemistry to use. her fork-trident, on the other hand, was not changed in the slightest. still just styrofoam. i think it'd be pretty good if she opened her battle with it but even if it hits mega man it only deals one point of damage and the second it touches something it snaps in half and she never pulls out a new one

designing sweet was pretty fun because she's pretty different from my usual taste in character design! my experience with the magical girl genre is that i read about half of sailor moon when i was 12 and absorbed everything else through pop culture osmosis and tv tropes pages, so it was definitely fun to draw what i think a magical girl might look like. i also don't use oranges and yellows much, so picking out her colours made for an agonising exciting challenge! she didn't change too much from the initial microsoft paint sketch, although she lost a skirt layer along the way because i didn't feel like figuring out how to draw another one, and her weapon was originally just a big fork that probably would have been a ksjfjhkjhfillion times less cumbersome to draw. oh well. live and learn [HANGIN ON THE EDGE OF TOMORROW]

You know, I assumed the point of the Encyclospeedia was to give fans not only an extensive rundown of facts and tidbits about the Sonic series and it's timeline, but to also potentially give or reveal things that have NEVER been publicly known or confirmed. Even the art book that was released a couple years ago gave us some new content. I don't really see how the book, especially at it's price point, would be worth my money when I can just easily go to fandom wikis for free. :/

I love that the wiki admin was like "casual fans of the series can read this book if they also read about Sonic trivia on their own". It's like buying a cookbook that recommends you to watch Youtube tutorials.

And it technically gives new information! Like NIDS being put in remission by low gravity. But how can I accept this new information, if it can't even get well established facts right? If a supposed expert I'm talking with insists that Africa is a state in the US, I would not believe another word that they say, even if they're right about other things.

The only value of the Encyclospeedia at this state is how well organized it looks. Or looking at its "goofs", you might learn something new by the people correcting them :\
