Since we already know we're gonna have cheats to expand the number of units on one lot it has 8 units instead of 6

I'm basing it off luxury townhouses you'd find in New York

4 of them are gonna be occupied by sim families i make and are gonna be super personalized for those sims while the other 4 are gonna be more basic and just have random families

Right now I have it on the 64x64 lot in del sol Valley but I might move it somewhere else. Havent decided yet. Initially when I thought "luxury townhouses" I picture something in LA but as I've been building, the style fits the new England area better sooooo....not sure which sim world with a 64x64 would work for that. I think the park in San myshuno is 64x64 so I might put it there but the style could maybe fit in windenburg....but the area that the windenburg 64x64 lot is in doesn't really work for apartments.

in my head it's like "aLIVE" but from a linguistic perspective I gotta concede that the "LIVing" pronunciation makes more sense because it's consistent with the other modes (buy/build) which are verbs not adjectives

I hate all my loser sims I guess I have a sweet spot for a child sim I made back when I was a child. She lived in a trailer, had big droopy eyes like Brittany Spears, and was named Miami.

Back then I never played rotationally, and all my families followed the same path basically: get married, have kids, work hard, die. Now my sims and stories are a bit more diverse and I really enjoy that!

What’s your favorite sims death?

It's funny cause I usually don't have a lot of Sims deaths but I will have to go with the asteroid death from Sims 3. There is just something about a shadow over your sim getting larger and larger and your sim just...standing there waiting.

Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

I used to be faithful to alpha in sims 4, having been used to it in Sims 3, but I can definitely go with Maxis Mix as what I prefer in my game. It's the best of both worlds for me.

Do you cheat when your sims gain weight?

Sometimes. Though I do most definitely with the realistic childbirth mod. Being a mom, that was the part I disliked the most.

Oh yes

Wicked Whims. I am a fan of food mods so Grannie's Cookbook is one of my favorites.

EVERHOOD: Pinocchio in Psychedelic Purgatory: the Rock Opera Adventure. OR: I walked backwards into hell, and felt euphoria as I became privvy to the Divine Truths

Hello tumblr people. I’ve been Away. I played a game recently and I wanted to talk about it.   damnit i really wanted to put pictures into this mini essay. ive been away from this garbage site for too long, i dont know how to do it lol.  ok anyway    First, I want to say to the developers and anyone else that this has quickly become one of my all time favorite games. Currently writing I have personally never felt a greater emotional attachment to an experience with a piece of software. Perhaps it is the extreme idiosyncratic nature of it, perhaps it is the deeply intriguing storyline, mostly however it is a combination of those in addition to some of the most outstanding psychedelic visuals I have ever seen, particularly in the finale sequence, and a killer soundtrack that combines many genres but focuses mostly to being as bangers as possible. I will be upfront and say this game comes with a boatload of trigger warnings, and thus the aforementioned idiosyncratic nature of it may not appeal to everyone, however I feel it necessary to indicate potential content warnings here as I would hate for people to be triggered: epilepsy is the big one, I myself have mild stutter based epilepsy and it didn't cause health problems or anything but my case is not universal. Anyway. That is a hard warning on epilepsy. I do it because The Incredibles 2 did not, lmao (that's an example of the kind of visuals that trigger me personally. An aside ) Other things include (spoilers): arachnophobia, misophonia (screeches, unsettling sounds), themes of death, immortality, suicide. Some game mechanics are not immediately intuitive and puzzles require some pretty clever but sometimes obtuse solutions. Direction is not always super clear either. People have complained of performance issues but I am leaving this review after playing the switch port, which played smoothly other than some awkwardly long loading times here and there. What I have played of PC so far runs smooth but as of writing, performance for me was fine (my pc is a lowend budget build). There is a difficulty to it. Even playing on easier modes, it can be quite unforgiving. If you're a fan of hard games (I am but I suck at them) and rhythm games (this is, uh, Not? That? Almost functions as half walking sim, half rhythm Game, dodgy shoot em up kinda feels. Truly unique gameplay I think. Constantly switches things up, too. But yes I also adore rhythm games, and yes i also do suck at those too.), half of it is that. The devs troll you with puzzles. It's truly a wild experience as it advertises, one of a kind. And yet, however.... This game wears, much like its heart,, its references, on its sleeve. If you are not into that kind of thing, you will probably be annoyed by this game. It also loves to delv into meta, as many puzzles and interactions are references to the UI of the game itself. Personally, I'm not wild about meta but I appreciate the ernestness here, so I'm willing to roll with whatever this game throws at me because every turn feels unexpected, fresh, funky, somber, and wildly intelligent, with boldly sincere ludonarrative choices, script and art direction. If you like Geno from super Mario Brothers, which, guess what, narrator here LOVES Geno from Super Mario Brothers, this is functionally the game you've always wanted that Nintendo could never make because Square has held Geno hostage in some kind of underground torture facility since 1995. Turns out they were rather right to do so, because when that puppet is out serving a higher authroity, he can be quite dangerous. Narrarively it borrows much from its sources but I would argue there's proof the writers have spent time thinking about the implications of their source materials worlds, and that reflection casts itself back to create this, experience that is wholly unique even if we know Red is Geno and "Gaster" (who was based on Uboa from Yume Nikki or princess mononokes forest spirits), and some kind of disco Marceline character who changes their identity frequently, skeleton brothers- well undead brothers, really - We have to remember in the creation and consumption of media sometimes, influences and archetypes are ever present and Everhood almost itself is a realm that would indulge in the idea of self referential material. It makes for this very Jungian experience of friendly archetypes we're familiar with, which works well with this setting of an immortal realm. Thats not to say the personalities we do meet aren't expounded upon - they are, heavily, and become uniquely their own. (Spoiler) if my theory is to be believed this world is a purgatory where people have made their own artificial vessels and as time has made them bored (though some seem to be having a good time) while typical strains of the Pinocchio myth are thrown in about questions of identity and death - and probably even more so towards Timothy Learys concept of the Ego Death, or the return to the collective soup of unconcious being. Undertale will probably always be a reccomendation even by its own reference to it so comparisons to it will be littered through here. It feels like the developers were emboldened by Toby Foxs spirit in game development (his creative energy is rather infectious) and shared many similar ideas, but this feels far more aimed towards a maturer audience (references to the things I mentioned in the trigger warning list) and focused on achieving this feeling that its predecesors have as well. Yume nikki. Lisa. Earthbound. Toby's games. super Mario rpg in its humor, Cat Soup in its psychedellic depressive vibes, all this cool indie cult classicy kinda mash up soup.  bizarre antics and then these characters who have surprising depth the further you go. It has been 6 years since Undertale came out, and the developers for Everhood have called a lot of the "what ifs" that fans of that game ask, an answer in their own game. (What if No Mercy was forced, for example? What if going against destiny is the wrong thing to do? Why is Death such a Bad Thing? etc!) And the further along you progress, the smarter the story gets, the more complex the narrative threads and characters. This game knows how to write compelling literature and that wasn't an element I expecting but god am I so glad for it. Literally my pea brain saw Red's design flipping around some frets on a streamers videocapture (shoutout to based fellow tampa native Charles White, thank you for being witty and having good taste and your Floridian comisery.) one night and went "oh i like." But the experience I got in exchange was, so, so much more than that (but the tetris effect won't let that image disappear from my eyelids quite yet haha.) I hear there are multiple endings and one requires a 3 hour long trek. I'm not done with the game at the time of reviewing. You bet your sweet ass I am going to find out the Ultimate Truth. I found a way to deal with some of the bullshit in other games, I may not be great at games but I want to see whatever imagery these guys put on screen so it compels me to seek out all the alternative routes. I am going to be following these developers projects very closely. If this is their debut, their next project will be ... ... I would hate to force expectations, like if you just made a magnum opus like this it'd be perfectly alright to retire, but I just once again want to say thank you to the developers for putting your heart on display for the world to see. I see it. I have dealt with struggles similar to the ones in the stories this game articulates about anxiety and depression, existentialism and dread, dissociation and all the heavy themes that were risky to include narratively - I'm certaintly glad you took the risks you did. May update this review as I get further along the story but yeah. Tl;dr: haha pinocchio myth done well make brain go brrr. 9.99999999999998/10. I am taking an infitisimal fraction of a point off because of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ spider in the monster maze. that thing was abhorrent, but I won't let it deter anyone else who wants to play.

How was your day: It was okay. Work sucked ass. Being understaffed all the time & working with a fake ass coworker is so draining. But it got better when I got home because I played some Skyrim. Then went out to eat with my mom at Five Guys then bought myself a memorory foam bed topper from Bed Bath & Beyond. So I slept amazing last night. Now it’s Saturday & I plan on not leaving the house!

Your favorite career: Ummm that’s kinda hard because I always choose freelance careers in game because I love how your sim can stay home & just work. But it gets a little monotonous at times. I also love the teacher & administrative careers that came with Discover University!

How old is your Simblr: it will be hitting one year old soon! I’ve always wanted to make one but never did. But I finally just made one. Propose a crazy scheme: Omg I know this is crazy but wouldn’t it be amazing if our Sims could own multiple homes, basically house flip & rent them out to other sims. Get that money, or let their children that are trying to move out, live in those homes. Or how crazy would it be if the roommate system wasn’t just from Discover University but was BASEGAME. DEAR LORD.

 I usually don’t have time to do tags, I just mostly spend most of my tumblr time posting and reading other simblrs and then scurrying away, but I figure I should try to do more or everyone thinks I’m just rude T_T

1. What’s your favorite sims death? There used to be a death by flies, that’s a good one lol.

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match? Maxis Match!

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? Nope! I love it when my sims gain weight sometimes, it’s actually kind of interesting. Some sims don’t gain it as fast as others, this I’m sure of? Aurelia eats A TON and she’s always been really thin. Her sister Daria seems to always carry more weight on her. It is interesting. 

4. Do you use move objects? Yep!

5. Favorite mod? Other than Wickedwhims?!?! Oh, @deaderpoolmc obviously! They both add a lot of gameplay!

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got?  Sims 4? Well, the first one they released, whichever one that was. For all sims games, Sims 1 Hot Date!

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing? Living mode!

8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? It is hard to choose really. I don’t make any of the sims I play with, I’ve made one. Lourdes, the original. The rest are children. Oh, I do make them for my story, so I guess hmmm....can’t say!

9. Have you made a simself? Secret, I’ve never done that ever XD

10. What sim traits do you give yourself? I can’t be defined by 3 traits, instead I can be definied by one...Lazy XD

11. Which is your favorite EA hair color? Brown!

12. Favorite EA hair? I don’t know, can’t say. Sims look better with certain hair, you have to find the best one for their face shape IMO. 

13. Favorite life stage? Young Adult

14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? I’m no good at building or anything, I just play the game and make bad stories for the fun of it :D

15. Are you a CC creator? NI make poses sometimes, but I’ve only released one. The rest i dunno, kinda suck I think.

16. Do you have any simblr friends/a sim squad? No, I’m not a big fan of cliques or anything but there are plenty of simblrs that I adore more than others! 

17. What’s your favorite game? (1, 2, 3, or 4) TS2 is the best but after that TS4, TS3, and TS1 is special for what it started but if you go back and play it right now...meh XD no genetics, no real aging, it really was just a dollhouse!

18. Do you have any sims merch? Not really!

20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing? I don’t think it has really, I always try to play a family for as long as I can. Only difference now is that I have a tumblr.

22. Who’s your favorite CC creator? @historicalsimslife for bringing all that historical stuff in our games! I don’t have any plans to use it right now (Although, vampire flashback stories would be fun hmmmm...) but it is awesome!

25. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next? Okay...like...why don’t we have cars in this game? EA, CAR GAME PACK. RIGHT NOW. Seriously. Years without cars, no carpools, nothing...Can we get cars? I know we don’t have open world but still, to put them in a garage and stuff is cool. Maybe even make a car show thing?

25. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far? Vampire game pack! It’s just a lot of fun and I love vampires so that one! I’ve yet to really get into parenthood though.

Video Game Survey!

So! I’m bored... Like... Hella bored. So I found this survey (questions created from 8bitrevolver) and I’m going to answer these questions like it’s 2005 and I’m doing a MySpace survey! Ready? Let’s-a Go! 1. First game you played obsessively? Obsessively... Hmm... When I was very little I played a lot of Wario’s Woods and Super Mario Bros. 2. But! I think I was a little more obsessive towards Super Mario Bros. 2! 2. A game that has influenced you creatively? Writing, drawing, etc. Either the Legend of Zelda or Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. I have written fanfics based off of those games!

3. Who did you play with as a kid? My sister and my step-sister

4. Who do you play with now? My boyfriend and my college friend.

5. Ever use cheat codes? My dad used to have a Game Genie for the NES, and I loved messing around with that thing. Sometimes it would totally fuck up the game cause I would just put in totally random codes! 6. Ever buy strategy guides? The only strategy guide I remember buying was for Super Smash Bros. Melee. If I remember correctly it came out before the game actually did, and I bought it and looked through it to help build up my hype! 7. Any games you have multiple copies of? No. 8. Rarest/Most expensive game in your collection? Uh... N/A 9. Most regrettable purchase? Yooka-Laylee for the Switch (at least that’s my most recent I can think of.) 10. Ever go to a midnight game release or stand in line for hours? No. 11. Have you ever made new friends from playing video games? No. 12. Ever get picked on for liking games? No. 13. A game you’ve never played that everyone else has? Ooo. Probably. I haven’t played any of the Metroid games. I’m sure there’s a big title that I can’t think of. Uhhh. Fortnite and PubG? Uh.... Halo. Or any famous first person shooter games. 14. Favorite game music? Legend of Zelda music is high on my list. I love the Stone Tower Temple music. I love Fi’s theme from Skyward Sword. I love Dragon Roost Island. I love the music from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars as well. Like the Forest Maze, Midas Falls, and Rose Town.

15. If it was a requirement to get a game related tattoo, what would you pick? Maybe the Super Mario mushroom or the Triforce?  16. Favorite game to play with your friends IRL? Mario Kart, cause I’m a beast. 17. Ever lose a friend over a game? No 18. Would you date someone that hates gaming? I have before... it kinda sucked. Like he got mad at me because I just bought Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story and I was playing that instead of like... following him outside so he could smoke. He wasn’t a very nice person.... 19. Favorite handheld console? The 3DS I suppose. 20. Game that you know like the back of your hand? Either Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars or Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. 21. Game that you didn’t like or understand as a kid but love now? Hmmm.... I can’t think of anything. 22. Do you wear game related clothing/accessories? Yes. 23. The game that you’ve logged the most hours into?  Either Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars or Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Lol. 24. First Pokemon game? Pokemon Blue! Bulbasaur was my first Pokemon ever! 25. Were you ever an arcade game player? No. 26. Ever form any gaming rivalries? No. 27. Game that makes you rage? I get ragey when games give me really LONG challenges. Like where the difficulty lies in how long the challenge is and if you fail you have to start all over. That is what makes me rage. Most recent example is Super Smash Bros. for Wii U trying to complete All-Star mode on Hard difficulty with several characters.... Getting so close only to have to start all over again makes me ragey. Lol 28. Ever play in a tournament? No. 29. What is your gaming set up? We have 3 Nintendo Switches in this house. My dock is hooked up to my TV. Warren’s dock is underneath mine not hooked up to anything but plugged in to act as a charging station. Reece’s Switch is hooked up to the living room TV. If Warren wants to play his switch he just places it into my dock. 30. How many consoles do you own? 2. Nintendo 3DS and a Nintendo Switch. I had a Wii U but I gave it to my sister. 31. Does the 3DS and/or Virtual Boy hurt your eyes or give you headaches? Yes!! Never played the Virtual Boy, but I can’t really use the 3D of the 3DS, it messed with my eyes. 32. Did you ever play a game based on your favorite show/cartoon/movie/comic? Yes. I remember owning the Shrek 2 video game. And I am sure I have a few more, until I came to realize those kind of video games sucked! 33. Did you ever have any bootleg games or plug-n-play games? No.

34. Do either of your parents play video games? My dad does quite a bit. He owns as Wii, but plays a lot of mobile games. My mom will play games like Mario Kart, and she really likes Wii Party U and the Pictionary portion of Game & Wario. 35. Ever work in a game store? Or do you have a favorite game shop? No. And I supposed GameStop is my go-to, but Jesus Balls they’re expensive. 36. Have you ever shed actual blood, sweat or tears over a game? .... Uhhh? No? I don’t think so? I remember getting very mad and upset at Paper Mario when I was little because I JUST COULD NOT BEAT HUFF-N-PUFF! But it’s because I was going about it totally wrong. And I got yelled at from my Mom because I was getting mad, and she told me to calm down. 37. Have you played E.T. for the Atari 2600? Do you think that’s the worst game ever, or do you have another nomination? I have not. But I do probably think it is the worst game ever... because it like... single-handledly brought upon the American Video game crash... 38. A game you’re ashamed to admit that you like? Super Princess Peach. It’s one of the only DS games I still own... 39. A sequel that you would die for them to make? A Sequel to Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.  40. What to you think of virtual reality headsets or motion controls? Never used Virtual reality headsets. I am afraid it may make me motion sick like 1st person games do. And I am kind of over motion controls now. 41. A genre that you just can’t get into? First Person Shooters. 42. Maybe it wasn’t your first game, but what was the game that started you on your path to nerdiness? ??? Probably my first game Super Mario Bros. 2. Lol.

43. Ever play games when you really should have been concentrating on something else? Yes. I think everyone does that. 44. Arcade machine that has consumed the most of your quarters? Uhh.... N/A

45. How are you at Mario Kart? GURL! I am a beast! You better watch out? Oh is that a Blue Shell coming for me? No Biggie I am so far ahead it doesn’t matter? Another one? Oh looks like you caught up but still can’t pass me. And I don’t even use the heavy characters with high speed, and you’re still eating my dust. :-P 46. Do you like relaxing games like Animal Crossing or Harvest Moon? Never really played them, but I kinda want to get into Animal Crossing because I want to have an easy relaxing game that I can play before bed or something. 47. Do you like competitive games? Mario Kart and Smash, I suppose. 48. How long does it take your to customize your player character? Not too long. 49. In games where you can pick your class, do you always tend to go for the same type of character? Yes. 50. If you were a game designer, what masterpiece would you create? Uhh... A game where you are the damsel in distress, but you escape and your journey is getting back home. 51. Have you ever played a game for so long that you forgot to eat or sleep? I never forget to sleep, but I have gone for a long time without eating and then I’m like “Damn, I’m hungry... Oh I haven’t had food for 12 hours.” Lol 52. A game that you begged your parents for as a kid? Super Smash Bros. Melee, Luigi’s Mansion, Paper Mario, and probably the first few Mario Parties. 53. What’s your opinion on DLC these days? If they are good, it’s fine. If it feels like an actual addition to the game instead of just “Oh the game wasn’t done, here’s some more you gotta pay for.” Like.... The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild did a good job with the Champion’s DLC. Like the game would be fine without it, but it just added some extra flavor (and totally made me fall in love with Urbosa.) 54. Do you give in to Steam sales? I do not have Steam account. 55. Did you ever make someone you hated in the Sims and did mean stuff to them? I do not play Sims. 56. Did you ever play Roller Coaster Tycoon and kill off your guests? No. Never played it. 57. Did you ever play a game to 100% or get all of the achievements? YES! I am very much a completionist.

58. If you can only play 3 games for the rest of your life, which ones do you pick? Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Mario Kart 8. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. 59. Do you play any cell phone games? Pokemon Go is the only one I really play. 60. Do you know the Konami Code? Yes. My dad and I were just talking about it. 61. Do you trade in your games or keep them forever? I trade them, that’s why I like the physical copies.

62. Ever buy a console specifically to play one game? Not really. I buy the Nintendo consoles because I know there will be games I’ll want to play. 63. Ever go to a gaming convention or tournament? No. 64. Ever make a TV or monitor purchase based on what would be best for gaming? No. 65. Ever have a Game Genie, Game Shark or Action Replay? Did it ever mess up your game’s save file? My dad had a Game Genie (see previous question) and I don’t think it ever messed up the save files, but it did mess up the way the game looked. I remember using it on Super Mario Bros. 2 and it totally messed up the pause screen. Like enemies were flying around on there, it was silly! 66. Did you ever have have an old Nokia with Snake on it? Yes.

67. Do you have a happy gaming-related childhood memory you want to share? I always look back fondly on playing games with my sister and step-sister. We played a lot of Mario Party 1 and 2, Mario Party 4, 5, and 6. Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Mario Kart 64, Double Dash, and Wii.

68. Ever save up a ton of tickets in an arcade to get something cool? No. 69. In your opinion, best game ever made? Either Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars or Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Lol. 70. Very first game you ever beat? The first game I ever beat on my own without my Dad’s help was Yoshi’s Island for the Super Nintendo! **BONUS QUESTION** A Question I just made up. 71. Who is your most wanted character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate? I have wanted Toad as a playable fighter since the Melee days, and now I really want to see Captain Toad make it into Super Smash Bro!
