Thank you so much! Also yeah if you ever wanna yell together about how bad Toriyama is at romance (and how he sidelines characters via "romance") hmu anytime, lol
BRUH I AM STILL MAD ABOUT VIDEL’S LACK OF PERSONALITY IN SUPERS I WILL NEVER FORGIVE HIM. OR THAT CHICHI GOT RELEGATED TO NAGGING WIFE TROPE. BULMA IS THE ONLY ONE TO GET WHAT SHE WANTED OUT OF LIFE TBH..... AND THERE WAS ONE MORE BUT I FORGOT WHO BUT YEAH ALL THREE LADIES DESERVED BETTER well okay bulma got the best cut and that maybe helped that she didn’t start off as a warrior lady BUT ANYWAYS
I THINK I’LL FORGIVE HIS TERRIBLE TIMELINE OF EVENTS BEFORE I’LL FORGIVE HIM/ALLOWING THAT DECISION TO BE MADE ABOUT VIDEL
AND I HAVE A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH HIS WRITING, SPEAKING AS A WRITER/RPer WHO LIKES TO ADHERE TO CANON TIMELINE OF EVENTS, AND THUS WOUND UP SQUEEZING SEVERAL LIFETIMES’ WORTH OF TRAUMA INTO A CHARACTER WHO WAS JUST SUPPOSED TO BE FUN.
RIP CHIKORI I’M SO SORRY I PROMISE I NEVER MEANT TO MAKE YOU INTO A PTSD-FILLED EX-SOLDIER WHO GREW UP THROUGH TWO DIFFERENT WARTIMES, BOTH OF WHICH WERE SEPARATED BY ONLY A YEAR, ALL BECAUSE OF SOME BRAGGART KING DECIDED TO END A 200 YEAR PEACE FOR WHAT LAND? DISPLAY OF WITS? BECAUSE HE HAD SMALL DICK SYNDROME?
Im so salty please feel free to drop in to MY inbox(es) or DMs anytime about it

hello! i came here after your post about tagging in the mcyt on tumblr
i'm a bit curious about the hashtag livebloging? i usually see them when people are posting about the current stream
are they necessary when im posting during a stream or is this there anything else i should know?
btw your posting about tagging is really great!
im glad you like the post! liveblogging is just what you said, its mostly people posting random thoughts on the stream or repeating jokes made, similar to livetweeting your reaction to a stream! its not required but some people like to filter it out so tagging it is a nice thing to do

i'm glad to see the rewatching plans are going to happen! it's quite similar to something the eurovision fandom did during the early months of lockdown - we watched an old contest every saturday and livetweeted (#eurovisionagain) and voted on it as if it was live. slowed it down to a monthly event after a while, and so far we've raised £25k for charity through it. great community bonding experience. best of luck to you guys, it should be really fun!
yeah, i’m so glad people liked the idea! it’s funny, because i was joking when i made that post because like, i’m desperate to keep this community active after the show ends and i’m terrified of losing any of you!! but then people seemed to really respond to it. so that’s great! i love it!

Some thoughts on The Caligula Effect 2
So I joke about this game getting a second remake to my friends online and the next moment I learn THIS was announced during the Japanese Nintendo Direct. Let me spill out my thoughts to spark discussion as well as provide a record to myself if this game actually does get localized.
Everything is under the cut!
My thoughts on Overdose were that it has a fantastic world... and that’s it. Out of the game’s cast, there were maybe four characters I liked, and the rest had moments that made me lose all sympathy for them. I recall it was common for some Let’s Players to like the villains better than the protagonists, and I’d agree on that front. I actually think the anime is the best iteration of this game’s story, changing up the formula enough to provide a really solid characterization arc to everyone. But Overdose suffers from poor writing issues (killing Eiji offscreen in the best ending was one of the worst decisions they made), rough handling of certain topics, boring and monotonous dungeons, and 500 social links you’re never going to do. I’m incredibly critical of this game, and I’d never recommend it to someone without a LOT of disclaimers, but somehow I still love it.
Tumblr media
Already this game looks CRAZY good visually. It doesn’t look like a reskinned Vita game anymore, with something a little more reminiscent of say, the Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth games. That’s not to say that the game doesn’t still implement its fantastic character art, which still show up next to the speech bubbles. (At least the models have moving jaws. That’s important.)
Tumblr media
Here’s to really hoping this game won’t be another Caligula 1 reskin, because uh... the game is about a protagonist who realizes that the world is a virtual one created by a Vocaloid who won’t let anyone out and joins up with a group of teenagers who also want to get out despite the fact that their real world lives were horrible so that they can set things right and they call themselves the Go-Home club (and also a Vocaloid gives them weapons made out of black stuff) but the people that are stopping them are basically the servants and guardians of the Vocaloid keeping them trapped in, who also happen to be humans who can’t return to the real world because their real world lives were so horrible, and so they have to fight because the Vocaloid won’t let them out otherwise. I mean, of course it won’t be a reskin, but I’m surprised at just how much of the original story they kept.
As for things they absolutely did NOT keep, DAMN this game looks dark! I was once remarking to a friend about how Caligula’s story would appeal better to me specifically if they’d gone with a religious pressure rather than idol stan theme, and they appear to have really pulled through with that religious pressure. I just realized, while writing this, that the image I showed off above actually has an image of an angel in the stained glass window being worshiped by fans with glow sticks. Furthermore, there’s a gothic cathedral-like altar, a halo behind Regret’s head, and this whole exchange looks like it takes place in a church. While I’m not religious myself, I can talk a lot about church architecture (see: my Fire Force livetweet) and I’m interested to see how this game handles it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not only that, most of the character designs seem darker and very different from the original game’s. Take a look at this game’s idol goddess:
Tumblr media
Is μ going through an emo phase? I wouldn’t blame her lol. I think she still has a fantastic design that is in equal parts dreary and beautiful, while perfectly matching the color scheme of the new game.
And what a color scheme it is! The world of Caligula 1 had a gorgeous white, black, pink, brown, and gray color scheme framing bold pops of color in the form of flowers. Caligula 2 changes things up by making black the primary color framing everything else. The pops of color are so much bolder, too, from Noto’s bright yellow sweatshirt to basically everything χ is wearing. Do these changes reflect the story’s potential darker tone too? Or are they representative of something else?
We don’t know too much about the characters, but Caligula 2 looks like it’s giving them different weapons. It looks like the protagonists wield double knives instead of double shotguns. As for the other weapons, I see shortswords, katanas, chains, pistols (much smaller than Shogo’s), canes, and Qiyana’s ohmlatl from League of Legends. Definitely a shift from the original game’s weapons. I wonder if they’ll make a comeback? That giant gun was unique to say the least.
The Obbligato (I think?) are this game’s Ostinato Musicians. Italian for “obliged”, they are the ones who defend Regret from any threats. The one shown off most in the trailer is this guy who looks like the 1010 dudes from No Straight Roads. Man, he really looks like Shadow Knife in that image up there...
Tumblr media
Also we get a, um, clown astronaut and a crazy high school yandere. Just to name a few. Definitely not the first time I’ve beat up a clown in a video game. Pretty unique as far as villains go, though. I hope this game has its own villain route, where you learn more about them. I’d really like that.
Social links! Looks like you rank up social links the same way you do in the original game. Do you want to make this character spill out all their trauma? Are you SURE about that, despite there being no negative consequences to you, the player? Awesome. Get ready to be sad.
The battle system is, from what I’ve read, similar, but not the same, as the battle system in Overdose. I’m not going to give too many details on that. They still seem to be time-based with combo chains, but they’re pretty vague. Looks like you still get to unleash crazy special attacks against your enemies. And they in turn can unleash crazy special attacks against you.
I absolutely want to see a. better characters and b. better overall writing. In my opinion these were the two weakest points of Caligula 1. Despite the protagonists’ tragedies, some of the little things they did made me sort of hate them. I did not like how everyone in the original Go-Home Club used Kotaro (who you learn is FOURTEEN!) as a verbal punching bag despite him being one of the kindest characters in the club. As for better overall writing, I stated before that I preferred the anime’s interpretation of events, because I thought they were in a better order overall. Besides killing Eiji offscreen, I hated how they wrote μ to be such a monumentally stupid character (I often point to Persona 5 Royal on how to write a villain like her well) and their, in my opinion, poor handling of certain topics like fatphobia. And though the character episodes sort of redeem them, it’s like... not really? The way I described it to a friend was that while the moral of Caligula 1′s story may have been “We live in a society and everyone’s dealing with their own hardships, but you can’t run away from them forever and you can at least be sympathetic to those facing them”, the character interactions end up dumbing it down to “We live in a society”.
Also an anime adaptation would be really sick. The anime just had so much better writing.
As for what I’m really curious about:
1. Who is Regret and how is she related to μ and Aria? We already know she’s a Virtuadoll like them, but if I recall correctly μ and Aria had some more concreteness to their backstories. Specifically, the human characters remember them existing as vocal synthesizer programs before they became the rules of Mobius. Regret’s backstory is that she just kind of showed up one day. Does she have different origins from μ and Aria? By the same merit, who is χ and how is she related to Regret, μ, and Aria? We know that χ opposes Regret and gives the Go-Home club the power to fight back against her, kind of like what Aria did in Caligula 1, but was she a co-creator of Redo like Aria was, or was her role completely different? The fact that she isn’t a little sparkle like Aria was (as a result of losing all of her power) indicates that their roles might be a little different.
2. What relationship does Redo have to Mobius? We know Mobius was created because Aria and μ wanted a place for humans to live without the sorrows they experienced in the real world. However, eventually μ was manipulated by everyone’s negative emotions and Thorn’s actions. This caused her to prevent anyone from leaving, and also the plot of the first game. Is Redo a second, improved iteration of Mobius, or a completely new virtual space? Were the goals behind its creation the same as in the first game? Or was there another force at work? Is Regret trying to copy μ or improve on her work? Or is she doing what μ did independently? I don’t think there’s enough information to predict the answer to this, but from what I’ve seen, there are a lot of similarities between the two worlds, from the high school to the end goal. However, there are some differences in tone. Mobius was a place to escape suffering, while Redo is being marketed as a place to escape regret. Redo also has a more religious bend than the idol theme of the first game.
3. What other links do the first and second games have to each other? People have been theorizing that Marie Mizuguchi/Wicked from the first game may return as Marie Amabuki (I think) in the second due to them having the same VA. There’s obviously the shared artstyle, symbolism, Catharsis Effect, glitchy NPC faces, and general setting. I also suspect that this game takes place after the events of Caligula 1. Not much I can say about this right now, but I wonder how everything joins up. Or if it even matters that they do. I haven’t seen too much on whether or not this game is being marketed as a standalone or a sequel, or if you even need to play Caligula 1 to enjoy Caligula 2.
Conclusion: While the Caligula series isn’t one I’d recommend to everyone, for the way it handles a number of sensitive topics, I will still be checking out Caligula 2 if it comes to the West. Though very little has been revealed thus far, so far I’m interested in the religious iconography used as well as the darker tone and colors presented in the game. As well as the characters, who have more varied and interesting designs including super unique weapons. I’m a bit disappointed that the plot, as it has been revealed, is an exact copy of Caligula 1′s plot, right down to the names of the protagonists’ faction. I was hoping for a bigger evolution to the story, but considering so little has been revealed in the first place, this may be a bit of a preemptive judgement.
That’s it. I hope you enjoyed my discussion of what I’ve learned so far.

i just finished season one of the magnus archives (here’s my livetweet thread) so here’s my discordant thoughts on the characters
jon
annoyingly stubborn
dramatic!!!!
was definitely That One Emo Theatre Kid in whatever britain's version of high school is
wants to know. everything.
fatal flaw: pursuit of knowledge. he can’t let a mystery go unsolved
please get some sleep baby you can solve the mystery in the morning
he’s so serious and awkward i adore him and i hope he remembers to take care of himself
martin
baby boy.....baby
consistently underestimated and underappreciated. give him a raise please elias he’s gone through hell
so full of love, even for people who don’t seem to love him back
i want to hug him
so intelligent, so thoughtful! always coming up with answers that no one else can think of
fatal flaw: self/preservation or fear. altho in his line of work i’m giving him a break
he’s got some big things ahead of him, i can tell. i hope that he gets some bomb ass magical powers or something because he really deserves it
sasha
ive known sasha for a week and a half but if anything happened to her i would kill everyone in this room and then myself
speaking of........what the hell happened during the finale i’m Worried
she’s so caring and protective. i feel like she’s the “hold my flower” member of the archive (jon or tim is the “kick his ass baby i got your flower”)
fatal flaw: curiosity. at least she’s aware of it?
i literally love her
looks like a cinnamon roll, is a cinnamon roll (but will also kill you)
so strong. so smart.
im love her and i hope she’s okay
elias
okay shifty capitalist motherfucker i see you
i don’t actually think he’s gulity of anything tbh, just a victim of circumstance trying to do his job and keep it
fatal flaw: submissive towards authority. spill the secrets buddy we gotta know
“but the funding”
i think his heart’s in the right place. i just hope he realizes there are bigger things than rich people and even the archive.
tim
pure of heart, dumb of ass
frat bro!!!!!
super friendly
EDIT: i made a joke about tim having cishet energy but i’ve since been informed that he’s canon bi which is awesome!
just doing his job, man
hey jon the boys and i are gonna go crack open a cold one later, wanna join? you’ve been stuck recording in that office for hours mate you need to get out and do something
he really genuinely cares about his friends and he’s so sweet
fatal flaw: inability to read the room. bro i love u no romo but u gotta learn to Read The Signs
such a dork
definitely going to get possessed at some point
jane prentiss
it is every sapphic’s duty to fall in love with an eldrich horror and jane is mine
her monologue/statement was so good that i’m doing it for speech this year. thank you irl jonathan sims for being a fantastic writer
so spooky......so curious........so dark.........so endearing
please tell me about the song and the nest and the itch. i’m so genuinely interested in her story and i hope we hear more from/about her because i still have Questions
every time i picture her it’s in the style of the scary stories to tell in the dark illustrations
ugh god such a good antagonist.....this is so good
mary and gerard key
during the first description of mary i was so impressed with her lifestyle and general presentation.....she was really living her best life. until it was revealed that she was not actually alive. but still
gerard you little shit, planting all these things for the archivists to find. who are you
side note but i thought his name was “jared”. i’m trying to not picture another famous gerard but i’m seventeen. what can you do.
they’re definitely working for some outside force, or maybe they Are the outside force? either way i’m intrigued
(predictions for season two and beyond under the cut)
general predictions for season two and beyond:
i’ve managed to avoid spoilers a lot better than i usually do, but i think there may be something to do with avatars for gods or something? anyway jon’s god is knowledge-based and sasha’s is strength-based. elias may be conman/trickery-based? martin is his own seperate being entity thing, i can’t see him fitting into any typical categories yet.
oh actually it would be really cool if martin was tied in with the god of death? it kind of fits him, idk how tho. he’s just so sweet and kind and that matches the casual comforting neutrality of death.
actually maybe not because we’ve already met death and it’s just a bunch of reapers that were dumbasses in life, oh well (i’m still gonna keep it in on the off chance something happens with it)
jon takes a nap (unlikely, but i can dream)
that shipping company that keeps popping up definitely delivered that lighter to jon. don’t know what the lighter means but i’m excited to figure it out
jonmartin endgame
sasha is either possessed or has been completely erased by a copy. my guess is that she’s stuck in a time loop that was created when she touched the hypnotizing table, although how that happened is just about anyone’s guess.
gertrude was killed by gerard key, who, in his Infinite Knowledge of Plot and How The World Works, knew that jon needed to be the head archivist for things to work out the way he and his mother want it to. the keys are beyond time.
martin lives in the archive because he actually kind of likes it there??? even tho he had a traumatic event with worms and jane and finding the dead body of his old boss in the basement
i’m really interested to know what jon was up to before he worked as the head archivist. i feel like that’s kind of important and relevant? if it’s not now it will be in the future
elias has to pick a side: jon and the truth or the “funds” and the government. i hope he makes the right one, but plot and conflict is also important and i can totally see him becoming the Imposing But Apologetic Lawful Antagonist
idk what the gods thing is (if it even is something?) but i’m pretty sure one of them has to do with eyes/watching, and my guess is that it’s the one having to do with knowledge. and while i’m here i’m also going to go out on a crazy limb and say that gerard and mary work for it, whatever the watching thing is. that’s how they know where to be at the right time.
there’s another group of people that work on things like the archive does--they’re just a little more....casual. idk if you all are/were supernatural fans but i’m thinking that the magus archive is the men of letters to this other faction being hunters. they split off after elias’s rules became too stifling, and they sometimes get there before the archive knows about the situation (like in ep 36, taken ill, or episode 8, burned out. altho ep 8 was with gerard, so maybe he works with them sometimes? idk)
sasha gets better but a sacrifice has to be made to save her. martin, to everyone’s surprise, offers.
i’m so excited to listen to season two oh my god this show is fantastic

Conageddon: Luisa d’Oliveira’s Panel + associated stuff
So it’s just my luck that immediately after posting my Richard/Luisa recap, a whole bunch of the Conageddon panels including that one became available online! I definitely encourage people to check them out!
Unfortunately the people who taped them missed Luisa’s solo panel and Richard’s solo panel. So I will still recap those to the best of my ability like I was planning to.
PANEL
- As with all the panels, it was introduced with a fan video - it was this one that had an angsty/uplifting focus on Emori finding acceptance with spacekru. <3 Luisa said afterwards that she loves watching videos that fans cut together because it’s seeing her character's journey through their eyes.
Tumblr media
- She talked about the backstories she’s come up with for Emori. She had different ideas and then the stuff with Baylis filled in some gaps but left a lot open. (Some of this came up at Unity Days also btw! I just don't think I wrote it up then because I didn’t have time. *hides*) She thinks the real Baylis was someone who collected outcast/mutated children and basically raised her, in an abusive and psychologically manipulative way. Her headcanon is that Otan was not her biological brother, but that she bonded with him during that time and they’d gotten out together.
- Going into season five, she said she had two ideas about what could happen with Emori in space -- she would either end up friends with everyone, or she'd not know how to deal with it and become more antagonistic. Which is basically what happened to John Murphy, so she was like “I nailed it” for both of them, hee.
- She has a project coming up but it’s on a new show/pilot and can’t say anything about it. [Note from Nicole: To be clear it might just be a minor role and not necessarily a big 100-affecting deal.]
- I asked her a question about her video game role in "Far Cry 5" -- she did the motion capture as well as voice acting for the game! So she talked about what that was like, wearing the suit with the beads and moving around a room reacting to people who weren’t there. The hardest part was knowing how much to act with her face, because on TV you would try to use subtle expressions, but the animation might not catch it and just look blank.
Tumblr media
- In season 4 it was interesting having scenes with a lot of new characters and she’d think about what Murphy would have told her about them. A moment that didn't make it onscreen is when they're planning to go up in the rocket, John says something snarky and Bellamy gives him a "Shut up, Murphy" or something like that, and on one of the takes she just immediately GLARED at Bellamy like how dare you talk to him like that. *G*
- An audience member asked how she would want Emori to die. She says "happy", she would like an ending like Monty and Harper had, either that or in a "blaze of glory." Emori would not go down quietly.
- Moderator Jo followed this up with asking if she would lay down her life for John Murphy. Luisa says absolutely, he would for her and she would also, that's been established many times. Pointed to the scene in God Complex when she was trying to convince him not to fight for her. (She started cutely “reenacting” it like noooo save yourself and joked that was the original version before she helped them rewrite it.)
- Luisa’s Book Club recs: "The Brain That Changes Itself" by Norman Doidge and "Man's Search for Meaning" by Viktor Frankl. She also loves Jane Austen and a book character she wishes she could transport into The 100 is Elizabeth Bennet.
- A character she would like to do more with is Indra. She never had any real female mentor relationships, at least before space.
- There were two really moving comments/questions in a row about her portrayal of Emori from people with diabilities, one said it was so important especially to see disabled love on TV, the other talking about the humanity and poise she gives her like few other disabled characters. She acknowledged she comes to it as someone who doesn’t have that experience in real life and wants to be respectful. She always just tried to ground it in something real and draw from the times she’s felt judged and isolated in her life, the feeling of walking into a room where everyone else is part of a family and she didn't belong there. :..( Authentic without it being the only thing that defines her.
Tumblr media
- Toward the end she was trying out her English (Cockney) and Irish acccents. Not bad at them! She said she once talked to a drunk man in Ireland and he believed her fake accent, just thought she was from some other town. But she thinks it wouldn't have worked if he was sober. *g*
- Her favorite hot snack on set is pierogies. She was definitely also asked about her love of Italian food and what she likes to cook but I forgot! There was one audience guy who said he also has his friends over for dinner to watch the 100 and she was like “we were probably cooking at the same time.”
- Asked to describe Emori in season six with one emoji. She eventually went with “the one that's a straight line mouth and big eyes” -- which is actually the "Neutral Face". LOL clever.
- HI I GOT BACK UP ON THE MIC AND ASKED ABOUT THE "JOHN MURPHY I FELL IN LOVE WITH" SCENE and when (or if) Emori's feelings changed between that and the finale. Luisa says: Emori's feelings never changed, that wasn't the problem. To her that scene was about her trying to be logical and think with her head. When he was injured, her heart took over and everything else went out the window.
- What Emori now (or at the end of S5) would tell herself in her first episode: "There are people worth trusting even if they don't seem that way at first."
- Luisa’s advice to her own younger self (I’m pulling this from a livetweet): Don’t be so afraid of taking chances, saying or doing the wrong thing. Just keep paying attention and keep your mind open. Be kind. Be confident. You're good.
OTHER LUISA STUFF
- While her VIP and panel were criminally under-attended compared to some of the guests, I was really happy to see a ton of people did visit her in the autograph room and she had a good line throughout. She even got an Emori Pop! from the same person who’d made mine.
- I should also mention that when I interrupted her and Richard’s beer pong tournament in my party dress Friday night, she immediately recognized me as the one who always dresses at Emori and told Richard that was me. *blush* So I decided to go to her auto table on the day when I was in the outfit and my friend captured a shot of her hugging me.
Tumblr media
- Whew, the other big thing was that I gave both her and Richard the mixtapes I made for their characters. Hers is basically the same as the one I posted for Emori Appreciation Week... She seemed genuinely touched and happy and was like “I’ll probably put these into my workbook” and I was like ohhh no haha I hope you just like *one* of them. She already knows “Creep” is on it, was saying it’s a big Emori song for her and describes exactly how she felt in vulnerable moments.
Tumblr media
- I also brought up something she said on one of the early panels (with all the girls) about how Emori carries stress in her body and I did notice that in the scene she was talking about. I also noticed that when she's scared she usually reacts with anger like she's trying to cover it. She said she definitely did that intentionally, it’s an animal-like instinct Emori has -- when some animals are threatened, they try to go “I’M SCARY!!” (aww) Another way she’s like a cat.
- Also on Sunday toward the end, I ran into some of the cast near the VIP hallway and Luisa grabbed me and thanked me for my questions at her panel. ;___; This woman.

J2 SPN UK 2018 Main Panel
J2 come out on stage at the end of Misha’s panel and they both hug him as he leaves.
J2 are joking about doing a Saturday panel since they normally only do Sundays.
Jensen: No one understands Jared he’s an enigma lol
Jensen now teasing Rich.
Jared: Has anyone been to a convention before? We’ve been doing this for 10 years where the fuck have you been? Jensen: Someone just said they weren’t born yet :P
J2 finished filming 2 weeks ago.
Jared is jetlagged but happy to be here.
J2 threaten the fans with spoilers lol.
Jared says this is the first time there is a confession (concession?) stand in a convention hall.
Jared has somehow changed food into pasties and the stripping music has started. Jared’s pronunciation of pasties is cracking everyone up.
The J2 panel has descended into nipple tassles and Jensen just did a nipple tassle.
Jared: Don’t call them fanny packs in the UK, call them bum bags! Jensen: They call it sun cream! Jensen is blown away that they call it that lol. “Why do we call it sunscreen? It’s not a screen at all.”
Jensen to Jared: You’ve got sun cream and pasties in your bumbag!
Jensen about a bartender: Wow, he was kind of a dick to me... he was kind of a sausage roll.
J2 agree Adam would be pissed if he finally got out of the cage. Jensen would love to have Jake back on the show, Jared thinks Adam would be pissed but relieved. Jensen: He’s messed with the Winchester’s before and look where it got him.
Fan: What personality trait from your character is most like you? Jared: My hair. Jensen: Yeah [his hair] has a personality of its own!
Jared reads instruction booklets. He and Sam are similar in that way of study first before doing something, likes to research. Jensen and Dean both loved baked desserts, good music, as well as just fix things however they can. Dean thinks he can fix things with a can of WD-40 and a roll of duct tape. Jensen: Do they even have WD-40 here?”
Jared says Jensen laughs at him at times, Jensen mouths silently “A lot” lol
Jared: Shep’s a quirky kid. Jensen: *pats hand over heart* Jared: Yeah, they’re kindred spirits, these two (Jensen and Shep) <3
Jensen just whispered something to Jared and then he started cracking up even more.
Jared took off his jacket. Jensen checks his watch, “Right on time.” Jared then goes for his belt. Jensen, checks watch, “Oh, a little early.”
J2 making each other laugh :)
J2 are whispering to each other and doing full body laughs.
Jared: I think if you’re acting properly, then you’re learning something about your character.
Jared: Happens a lot when they read the script and notice things Sam wouldn’t do but also gives him a chance to explore and then realize after doing the scene that it makes sense.
Jared said he doesn’t think Sam would’ve lived with Amelia.
Jensen: Sometimes they challenge back the writers if something doesn’t make sense. He says 9 times out of 10 writers get it right/they’ll find a happy medium.
Jensen: You get a bro hug in the next episode. He said they made it unique like a “hey, are you okay?” hug.
J2 find little challenges in each script that they’re not sure how they’re gonna play until they shoot the scene.
Jared: Option 3 just change the scene and don’t tell the writers lol. Jensen says sometimes they just plain change it without telling the writers.
Jared: Jensen and I love Alex. Alex reminds him of a young Misha and messes with him lol. Favorite part of s13 for Jared was Alex, says he’s so gracious and talented and it was great having him there. Enjoyed showing him the ropes, welcoming him to the family.
Jensen: A few months ago we actually had to stop filming because it was raining so hard! Perhaps the 2nd time in 13 years. Jared wasn’t filming and was in his trailer wondering what was taking so long lol.
Jensen: “The physicality of what I had to do during the season finale was a challenge.”
The snow with Ketch in the AU was not planned. Jensen says that the cast and crew making this day work (re: rain and snow) are the moments he’s most proud of.
A fan said something and Jared didn’t understand what she said so she repeated it and apologized and Jared said “it’s okay” in the softest way.
Unlike Jared, Jensen doesn’t like to read ahead unless he has to in order to keep it all straight in his head.
Did Jensen know what John said to Dean in 2x01 (when he whispered about him maybe having to kill Sam)? He did not. He doesn’t read far in advance script wise so he doesn’t accidentally bring something from one script to another.
Jared doesn’t think even the writers knew for sure what John said. Sort of go with the flow and see what works.
At times Jared will be reviewing a scene with him and Jensen has no clue what he’s talking about cause he hasn’t read it lmao. Kevin Parks will also sometimes come in to discuss future scenes, still not getting Jensen hasn’t read it yet and he’ll try to bullshit.
J2 both just rubbed and twitched their noses in sync :P
The writers are currently working out the next season from the huge cliffhanger left at the end of Season 13
JP: Sam wasn't meant to be soulless for so long and Amelia longer but writers adapted due to the level of success.
Jared would tell his past self to “buy bitcoin.” lol
Jared “I almost lived parallel to Sam. I sort of grew up with Sam.”
Jared says if he could see a glimpse of the future he would say no, he doesn’t want to know the future.
Jared used to have a lot of issues with the industry, wanted to get out (early seasons it sounds like) and even spoke to his lawyers about leaving the show without being sued. “I talked to my on-screen brother, Jensen” and Jensen told him “we can do this,” that they could get through it.
Advice for past character? Jared thinks Sam (& him) had to go through what they did to get where they are.
Jensen: “If I could talk to my season 1 self, I’d say settle in.” Jensen says he never used to settle into jobs because “I’ve never been on a show longer than a season or two.”
Jared prefers "life is long" to "life is short.” Life is short gives him anxiety. “Life is long. Be the person who you want to be. Live now how you want to look back and remember who you’ve been.”
Jensen: “Somebody once said, people aren’t gonna remember the things you had planned, they’re gonna remember what you’ve done.”
Jared can hear an annoying blender in the background: “I hope that’s a great smoothie.”
“it’s the vapers” - Jensen when Jared shouted turn the blender off... there’s a vape convention in this building lmao.
Jared’s favorite monster death was Lilith because of the cool build up! Jensen’s fave death was Alastair.
Jared on mental health prejudice: “I think we’ve come a long way but I feel like there’s still a long way to go.” He feels the same about gender, race, sexual orientation, etc.
Fan: “I came from Hungary for you guys.” Jared “I just ate so I’m not hungry.” :P
Jared just got a semi-rimshot from Norton. Make that two!
Jared: “YES! Two rim shots.” Jensen “Stop saying that!”
Jared: Had to fly across the pond to get a rimshot...w/ innuendos lol.
Fan: Does your character leak into everyday life? Jensen: Absolutely Jared: She said leaked not licked. Jensen: I know that? Jared: Okay it’s just the accent sounded like- Jensen: Not to anyone else!
Jensen: “I have had moments where Dean leaked....” Cracking up lol
Jensen: “one of the ways that Jared and I bridge the distance at work is, we FaceTime our kids.”
Last question: Did their kids ever want to be on the show & would they let them? Jensen: No. They FaceTime a lot but Jensen is often in bloody make-up. JJ thinks it’s disgusting & doesn’t want to work where he does.
They keep saying Uncle Jared and Uncle Jensen it's cute as hell.
Jared: A baby pic of Tom was in a scene. He also says that the kids were on set and watching daddy and Uncle Jensen creeping upstairs with flashlights and Shep grabbed Uncle Ackles’ flashlight and joined in thinking they weren’t actually playing pretend :)

About the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Rankin/Bass special, while it is offensive by Modern Times (and it is okay for modern people to be offended), bear in mind it was written during the Era of the Hays Code (where filmmakers could not show non-conforming characters/"Misfits" in a positive light). So a lot of adults back then would have been like the jerk Adults in the special. So it was radical back then for a Family movie to show that non-conforming people/"Misfits" can be good for society.
[This is in response to this post, by the way, which links to my livetweeting Rudolph.]
You’re right that there’s a specific historical context for Rudolph, and that that can be beneficial in considering how we analyze the story. But I also think it’s vitally important to analyze the story in the context of today.
Why? Because Christmas specials are shown every year, and the audience that’s seeing them doesn’t have the benefit of historical context. For them (and for us- I don’t know about you, anon, but I first saw it in the late 80s/early 90s), it will feel contemporary, and the racism and sexism and heteronormativity and problematic disability representation are presented without question. And because it’s a classic, we DON’T discuss it. I see a lot of adults joking about how Santa’s a jerk to Rudolph, but we don’t really delve into it. It’s a punchline, rather than something we really interrogate.
To be clear, I absolutely recognize the benefits of the form of critique you’re talking about, and I’m not negating the value of it. But it’s not the form of scholarship I prefer. I’m not offended by Rudolph; I own the DVD, and I also own a stuffed Rudolph and I love him. It’s one of my favorite Christmas specials. But I believe that as media critics it’s our JOB to look at media that airs today in the context of today, and ask ourselves what the choices made then mean, and how we read them now.
Look, I studied children’s lit in grad school, after being discouraged from studying children’s media in high school and college. I’m very aware that while people will analyze the minutiae of many forms of media (geek and otherwise), anything aimed at children often gets the short end of the stick, even though they’re arguably most influential. They’re also what I like best.
So while I understand where you’re coming from, I want to be clear that it’s not a case of being offended. I want a clearer understanding of something important, and I think that comes from deep-dive analysis.

Beyond the Fix or How do I Live This F***ing Life? - WisCon 41 panel write-up
These tend to be long and only of interest to specific segments of folk so click the clicky to read.
Disclaimers:
I hand write these notes and am prone to missing things, skipping things, writing things down wrong, misreading my own handwriting, and making other mistakes. So this is by no means a full transcript.
Corrections, additions, and clarifications are most welcome. I’ve done my best to get people’s pronouns and other identifiers correct, but please do let me know if I’ve messed any up. Corrections and such can be made publicly or privately on any of the sites I’m sharing these write-ups on(tumblr and dreamwidth for full writings, facebook and twitter for links), and I will correct ASAP.
My policy is to identify panelists by the names written in the programming book since that’s what they’ve chosen to be publicly known as. If you’re one of the panelists and would prefer something else - let me know and I’ll change it right away.
For audience comments, I will only say general “audience member” kind of identifier unless the individual requests to be named.
Any personal notes or comments I make will be added in like this [I disagree because blah] - showing this was not part of the panel vs. something like “and then I spoke up and said blah” to show I actually added to the panel at the time.
Beyond the Fix or How do I Live This F***ing Life?
Moderator: R. Elena Tabachnick. Panelists: Kate Carey, Shayla D, Jesse the K, Lenore Jean Jones
#BeyondTheFix - for some good livetweets and resources
The panel started out with some good-natured joking about the moderator being late for reasons having to do with the panel topic and how they’d just get started.
Jesse introduced herself by saying “I’m a loud mouth”, as well as talking about how she’s been coming to WisCon for a long time and worked with others on improving access at the con and has watched how WisCon has improved and embraced better understandings around disability over the years.
Kate introduced herself by saying this was her 4th WisCon and that the membership assistance fund is what allowed her to get to her 1st one. She’s a champion of talking about invisible disabilities, and as a larger woman she gets especially tired of people who say “well if you exercises more...” [hear hear Kate!]
Lenore introduced herself by telling us this was her 20th WisCon, that she is Hard of Hearing but passes as hearing, and also that she is depressed. She touched on how depression is often co-morbid with other disabilities, or is often exacerbated by other disabilities.
Shayla introduced herself as someone who is both disabled and taking care of her mom who is disabled. Shayla talked about how she is just blind enough that she can’t drive but not blind enough that anyone gives her any money for it. When her pain symptoms were growing, she had doctors tell her it was all in her head, and once it was diagnosed, she was like “why yes, the cause was in my pituitary gland which is in my head thanks!”
Elena came in during the intros so was able to give hers at the end of this - she has a rare genetic disease, but insurance won’t pay for the genetic testing to confirm this. She never thought of herself as disabled, as she’s had this since she was a kid. She didn’t have a diagnosis, so everyone just thought she was weird. She kept getting more disabled, and had to keep giving up more things.
Right now she can’t leave her house for long, she can’t wear shoes or socks. It took her a long time to call herself disabled, but now she loves the identity - it helps to be able to say this about herself.
Jesse talked about having had mental health issues “since jump”, but that she didn’t know it was something that could be dealt with. In her 20′s, she started having pain everywhere and was diagnosed with fibro and cfs. Eventually, she stopped working and got to have the Disabled label.
She has also worked with Blind and Deaf communities and realized how much assistive technology and community can help. She applied that to herself, and realized how much using a wheelchair could help her. She was waiting for some authority figure to give her the Disabled label, but finally just took it and claimed it for herself.
A big change came when Jesse realized she didn’t have to be independent but could be interdependent.  [I have a buncha stars and underlines in my notes right here - thanks Jesse!]
Kate talked about struggles she’s had because when she was “just fat”, she didn’t want that identity to define her life or limit her. Then she became sick and wanted to feel the same way about that but her symptoms included being unable to breathe and she had doctors telling her to lose weight. She felt like fatness was seen as a moral failing. She felt ashamed and at fault for her own sickness.
She realized she was willing to go to bat for friends, for example, who smoked and had COPD - but when it came to defending herself, it was another issue. At first she took on the label of “sick” but not “disabled” because sickness was something you could get better from. WisCon has been helpful to Kate in accepting disability.
Shayla talked about how her first neurological disorder was something that happened primarily to fat people. She found her family blamed one another for making her fat, and therefore causing her blindness. Her stance was - who cares how I got this way, this is now, let’s deal with it.
Shayla likes to pop out her white cane because her other disabilities are invisible, but when she uses the white cane, she’s more visible as disabled. When people tell her “you don’t look blind”, she replies “you didn’t look like an asshole...” (general laughing from the audience).
She talked about wanting something like a “crip card” to be able to show to people to prove she’s really disabled. Much laughter and discussion ensues on this topic.
Lenore talked about having impostor syndrome around disability; being “not disabled enough” or “not Deaf enough”.
At this point, a funny conversation happens around the live captioning of the panel and how other panelists are reading over Lenore’s shoulder in fascination as their own words scroll by.
Lenore continued with a story about talking with Jesse and apologizing for not being able to hear her and Jesse telling her not to say sorry about that and how much it meant to her. She didn’t know she was Deaf until she was 15, so she had subconsciously learned to lip read.
Shayla said - instead of apologizing, say “thank you for being patient with me” and referenced a comic online on the topic (check the hashtag - it’s linked to a couple of times).
An audience member brought up that all of this apologizing in regards to our disabilities has to do with the social model of disability.
Elena talked about having to say no to things and how adopting the Disabled label helped to give her permission to do that. Before that, she was broken and felt at fault.
Kate talked about how our self-worth is based on our ability to work and contribute something to society. She stated that she could work under some very specific circumstances, but even then she would lose much needed benefits. She gets told “if you just had more gumption!” We apologize because our disabilities are seen as a moral failing.
[Kate then made some comments comparing abelism to racism which felt a lil oppression olympic-ey to me in regards to wishing people could see disabilities as just a part of who we are the way race is. My personal thought on this is that there absolutely are people who see poc as having a moral failing due to their race, as well, so I get where Kate was trying to take this analogy but I feel like most analogies of this kind tend to fall apart on further inspection. Another comment was about how she strives to do colorblind reading so she isn’t taking the author’s race into account when choosing a book or while reading it, which again, I think is a very well-meant intention but that taken in practice as a whole would end up with many poc authors not being read because publishing and marketing practices are already set up against them so if we don’t specifically make attempts to read more books written by poc - we won’t be finding as many of them to read.
I discussed this with Kate afterwards and she agrees that the analogy falls apart and wishes she’d phrased things differently, just FYI.]
Somewhere in there, Shayla made her patented case against kale-pushers and I jumped in to add “well if you Deep Fry the kale...”
(Either Elena or Lenore, my handwriting is not clear here) said that if people blame us for our disabilities, it allows them to believe that it won’t happen to them.
Jesse brought up the role capitalism plays in all of this, and how it’s not a good system. Also the failure of the medical system - it doesn’t work for people like us, so we annoy them. Additionally, some spiritual traditions have the idea of health as being a gift from God, so what does that mean for those of us who don’t have it?
Shayla talked about social issues involved when you have to cancel on friends so many times that they give up on you.
Elena talked about her dislike of the Paralympics - not the people who do it, but the cultural stuff around it as “inspirational.” This allows people to think that even if they do become disabled, they can be one of those ones who can do all this other stuff.
Often, even if fiction, you only know a character is disabled due to the occasional mention of their wheelchair - otherwise they’re described exactly like the other characters. They never get tired, need downtime, require help with transfers or bathing, etc. It’s not a realistic portrayal of disability.
She added on to what Shayla had said above saying that she has difficulty socializing because she can’t leave her house.
Kate talked about how online gaming helps her - she can interact with people on her own terms. She talks about “painsomnia” [ha! yes! great word!] and how she is often up at random times and being able to socialize online at those times helps.
Kate and Lenore both agree that the word “should” is toxic.
Kate said another helpful aspect of the gaming was that she found games she was good at. She was good at her job and losing that was hard, so finding something else she could feel proud of herself about has helped a lot. The fact that this is something that isn’t valued by society is frustrating.
She revisited the topic beforehand about inspiration porn and said it’s not even about the disabled person really, but about the abled people around them.
Kate talked about giving herself a gold star some days just for getting out of bed, or getting dressed, etc. She talked about her “standing skills” as another thing society doesn’t value enough.
Jesse discussed how she has coped over the years by waving her hand up and down. She defined herself as a brain in a jar who could learn things - and then that was the last thing that she lost. She has coped in part by splitting herself somewhat mentally from past selves and can look back and say that she is so glad to know that person that could do those things without that being a judgement on who she is today. [my notes at this point read “me: crying” because I was sobbing my eyes out at the wisdom of this that I desperately needed]
Lenore said she is still working on that whole gold star thing. She is trying to reframe things from “I ought to be able to...” to “this is what I can do now.” [phew! yea.]
Elena talked about still doing the grief thing and how depression is connected to not being able to do things. [my notes: the grief never fully stops]
She talked about being in an online writing community but how she isn’t writing now, and re: Kate’s gaming thing - she is still seeking that thing that she’s good at and can do.
Kate said it’s okay to grieve it the same way you would the loss of a family member. Grief continues on but it’s not always as hard as it is at first all of the time.
An audience member talked about how all they can currently do is work and sleep and how to survive if they can’t get disability. They are worried because they need insurance but can’t work full time - when do they reach a point where they can apply for disability? The panelists all answer pretty much together that it sounds like they already ARE at that point - it’s time to start applying. Fill out the forms for your worst days, not your best - that’s a common mistake.
The audience member said their doctor tells them “well you’ve managed so far...” I and other audience members and the panelists all agree - then they need a new doctor!
Jesse emphasized that the system has failed us, not the other way around.
Kate brought up the ticket to work program and told the audience member to start the disability process now so they don’t get stranded. [v. good advice]
Elena talked about getting a geriatric doctor if you can because they’re less concerned with issues around weight loss and about fixing you - they know you’re going to die anyway so shrug. (big laugh)
There’s a moment where everyone sings Jesse’s praises as someone who is both a good resource on how to manage this stuff on a personal level and as someone who has good resources for others. I nodded emphatically through all of this and here’s another great thing about Jesse - instead of deflecting, she just smiled and took the compliments. What a good role model!
Shayla talked about her struggles with being able to work for awhile, then crashing, being homeless, being able to work for awhile, rinse repeat and having people say “well you can work...”
(Edited to add at Shayla’s request that she also said “I COULD work... If it was at a job I could do in the dark, on my back, *legally*. (Hell, illegally has crossed my mind many a time.)”)
Kate talked about how applying for disability is work.
Shayla talked about the difficulty in not knowing how she’s going to feel day to day, even minute to minute.
Lenore stressed the importance of asking for things that we need.
I added from the audience that to add to the list of toxic words - “burden”. Thinking of ourselves that way makes it hard to ask for what we need.
Jesse talked about how giving is a help too. So asking for help allows other people to give in that way.
Kate said that love is asking for help, because it shows that we’re putting our trust in them.
An audience member talked about The Ultimate Guide to Sex and Disability as being a beneficial resource to reclaiming their sexuality.
Another audience member talked about a youtuber - ability powered - a disabled gamer who likes to help other disabled folk in gaming.
Someone else from the audience talked about having a sister who is disabled who she lives far away from and wants to know how to help.
Kate stressed listening and acknowledging. Ask what she is doing not how she is doing. Sometimes the best thing is getting to vent to someone who isn’t the same three people she talks to everyday [yes, this!]. It can be really helpful to be asked if you want to vent or need help problem solving - or even do you just want me to do the talking for awhile.
An audience member offered that arranging for things like prepared meal deliveries and cleaning can be of use.
Kate said framing things like the above as “I want to do this for you” so they feel better about accepting it. She also added that she enjoys skyping with people she doesn’t get to visit with so she can actually see them.
Kate talked about having to skype to her mother’s funeral and how at least she was able to be part of it in that way. She also brought up FB live as ways to take disabled people to things they couldn’t otherwise go to.
An audience member also stressed the importance of knowing the people in their lives WILL say no if they can’t, which makes it easier to ask them. They can trust them to be honest about their limits.
Lenore emphasized offering to just hang out with someone and not talk if they don’t have the energy to talk - just be there with them.
We hit overtime for the panel and Kate said “I just have a few more things” - at which point I lol’ed (having paneled with Kate before) and closed my notebook so I don’t recall what those few more things were - sorry!
But do check the hashtag for this one, as folks did add many of the resources that were brought up during the panel.

Meet The Parents
AN: Thank you all so much for the feedback and support you’ve all given me for my Sherlolly stories, especially ‘Baby’s First Words’, seriously, words do not describe how wonderful you all are and how supportive you’ve been. I hope you enjoy this one.
Ever since the night Sherlock returned from Sherringford; the night after The Phone Call, the night when they had sat up all night talking about everything that had happened to Eurus, everything that happened on Sherringford and everything that would happen now; things had changed. Whether they had changed for the better, Molly wasn’t sure. Things seemed to be in that uncertain sense of calm that came after a storm. When everything seemed to be OK but had the tendency to get even worse than they were before.
Basically, Sherlock knew he was due to be a father in nine months but was yet to do a runner. Which seemed ominously positive. He had made it clear that whatever happened, he would support Molly and their child which Molly supposed in Sherlock-Speak meant he would be around forever. However Molly didn’t want to hear Sherlock-Speak for once. She wanted Sherlock to be honest and sincere, the same way he had been during their Phone Call. When he had said it a second time. Sherlock had said it many more times but doubt still lingered in Molly’s mind. She knew it was ridiculous and many would blame hormones but she just needed to know this was real.
Sherlock had been staying at John’s whilst 221B was being repaired and rebuilt, however in the two weeks since Sherringford, he had stayed at Molly’s a total of eight times. Five of the night he hadn’t stayed was because Molly had been on the night shift; two were because he had a case and one was because Rosie was sick and demanding he stay with her. Molly knew he would be coming tonight; today was the day his parents were being taken to Sherringford to see Eurus for the first time in over twenty years. It would be a difficult day for all of the Holmes family. Sherlock and Mycroft included. To have their family reunited in such difficult circum-
“Not again,” Molly muttered as her train of thought was derailed by another horrible wave of nausea. Morning sickness her ass; she was feeling sick almost all the time and vomited at least three times a day, almost like clockwork. It was a miracle that nobody at work seemed to notice her bouncing between the morgue and bathroom, then again, she rarely got visitors to the morgue. Molly flushed the toilet and sat back against the tiled wall, resting her hand on her stomach.
“You’re definitely your father’s child.” Molly said as she kept her hand on her stomach. It was still flat, unsurprising, given that she was only six weeks pregnant.  By six weeks the baby (she had tried to think of it as a foetus but baby seemed right) would have all their major organs in the right place and its little heart was the size of a poppy seed. It was incredible how something so small had the power to change so much. Her whole world had already been turned upside down and this was just the beginning.
When she felt ready to stand, Molly stood up, washed her hands and went to get a drink. Caffeine was already out of her diet and she was trying her best to drink the lemon tea without getting sick again. She had just settled on the sofa with her tea when the doorbell went, causing her to swear a violent, bloody oath. She had just gotten comfortable for the first time that day and someone, a soon to be very dead someone, decided to ruin it. As Molly opened the door, ready to unleash her unadulterated rage, she froze at the sight of Sherlock standing outside her door, along with Mycroft and an older couple she had never seen before but knew at once.
Sherlock’s parents. Molly thought to herself as she stepped back. “Sherlock, Mycroft, what are you doing here?”
“I needed to see you.” Sherlock replied and glanced at his family. “And I wanted you all to meet.”
“Come in,” Molly said politely, stepping aside to let the Holmes family in. Once the door was shut, Molly looked at Sherlock with raised eyebrows, waiting to be introduced properly.
“Molly, I want you to meet my parents, Violet and Siger Holmes. Mum, Dad, this is Molly. Molly Hooper.” Sherlock said, feeling more awkward than he thought he would at introducing Molly to his parents.
“It’s nice to meet you.” Molly said as Violet Holmes smiled at her.
“And you, Sherlock’s told us so much about you. So many of his stories involved ‘Molly helped with this’ or ‘Molly helped crack the case’ or ‘I spent time with Molly’. I was beginning to worry that we would never meet you.” Violet said as she gave Molly a hug. Molly hugged her back and sent Sherlock a playful look at the embarrassed expression on his face. Behind Sherlock, Mycroft was beginning to regain the smug expression he had lost over the past few weeks.
“Then again. Will has always been shy when it came to girls. I always told you he would grow out of it eventually.” Siger Holmes joked as he too hugged Molly. As she hugged him, Molly suddenly felt reminded of her own father. Both Sherlock’s father and her own had the same gentle playfulness, they wore a similar aftershave and wore the same sort of warm jumpers. For a moment, it felt like she was being hugged by her father again. He had always wanted grandchildren… Molly knew her dad would have been a wonderful Grandpa, spoiling his grandchildren rotten, playing games with them, sneaking them sweets after Molly told him not to, sitting together to watch movies on the couch on a Sunday. All the things she experienced in her own childhood and her own children never would…
The tears had come before Molly had realised and the mood in the room changed suddenly. Both Violet and Siger looked at Molly concerned, Mycroft looked puzzled as he tried to work out what about their father had reduced Molly to tears. Sherlock however was first to realise what was going on and moved to put his arms around Molly.
“Don’t worry Dad, it was nothing you did. Molly has just remembered that while you will be able to be a grandfather to our baby in eight months’ time, her own father is not here to do the same.” Sherlock explained bluntly and the mood changed in the room once again. Had she been looking, Molly would have laughed at the sudden expression changes on the Holmes’ family’s faces. Violet and Siger looked both shocked and delighted at the bombshell. Mycroft looked completely shell-shocked.
“What?!” Mycroft was the first to regain the power of speech. Violet and Siger were looking at Molly again, smiles beginning to cross their faces.
“I’m pregnant.” Molly confirmed as she jabbed Sherlock’s shoulder. “And that was. Not. Good.”
“They needed to know why you were crying and why not tell my parents now? You’re already six weeks pregnant and we found out two weeks ago. Why wait?” Sherlock asked as Molly shook her head. She had told him over and over again that she wanted to wait until her twelve week scan, when she had proof that everything was OK before she told anyone that she was pregnant. That included family and friends. Then again, if he was willing to tell his parents about her and her pregnancy, then maybe Sherlock did mean it when he said he would stay with her.
“Two weeks. You knew she was pregnant when we were on Sherringford?” Mycroft asked dumbfounded, Sherlock had risked Molly’s life and the life of their child by being reluctant to tell her that he loved her? How could he do something so reckless? So dangerous?
“Oh keep up Mycroft. I found out afterwards obviously, otherwise the first thing I would have done was told Molly that I loved her. Not even Eurus would have been safe had I known Molly was pregnant.” Sherlock retorted as he kissed Molly’s forehead.
“I found out literally moments before the call.” Molly added, knowing by the understanding looks on Violet and Siger’s faces that Sherlock and Mycroft had told them everything, including the phone call and false threat against Molly’s life.
“How do you feel now?” Violet asked as they moved to the sofas and Molly sat beside Sherlock, holding his hand tightly.
“Better. We have a lot to work out but Sherlock’s agreed to support me and the baby, whatever happens.” Molly replied. “However it has been two weeks and he hasn’t tried to fake his death again, so I’m taking it as a good sign.”
“Oh he won’t. Sherlock’s always loved children, especially babies. We’ve gotten all his pictures of little Rosie Watson.” Siger reassured Molly. He knew his son had a far softer side than he liked to admit and the idea of his own child would allow Sherlock to finally explore that softer side.
“Siger was the same, always with the camera taking pictures of the boys. We even still have some pictures of Eurus that survived the fire. Everything had to be captured in photographs or on video.” Violet added.
“He’ll probably livestream or livetweet the birth.” Mycroft added, he could already imagine the hashtags, the Twitter trends, the headlines. Unless, of course a helpful international crisis intervened. #ConsultingMidwife, #5cenimemtresdilated, #justgotkickedoutofthedeliveryroom #oops
“Don’t even think about it.” Molly warned Sherlock who looked amused by the idea. “That phone will be turned off the moment we arrive at the hospital. And yes, I will give birth in hospital because you will not ignore any calls or texts in the last month of this pregnancy otherwise I will never let you near a crime scene ever again.”
Sherlock blinked at Molly as Mycroft slyly took a picture for future blackmail reference. This had to be the infamous ‘buffering face’ as John had dubbed it. Sherlock wasn’t the only one to inherit their father’s love of documentation. Siger and Violet laughed at the dumbstruck look on Sherlock’s face before his brain started again.
“You wouldn’t be able to ban me from every crime scene.” Sherlock challenged and Molly laughed at him.
“I have Greg Lestrade and Scotland Yard wrapped around my little finger, John owes me a lot of favours for helping look after Rosie and Mycroft knows I’ll dissect him with his umbrella-sword if he doesn’t do what I say so yes, Sherlock, I can and will ban you from every crime scene that you can think of.” Molly warned Sherlock who suddenly beamed at her and looked at his parents.
“See, I told you Molly Hooper was perfect.” Sherlock said happily as his parents laughed at him.
“We already knew that. Anyone who can bring you down to earth has to be someone special. The fact that she’s carrying our grandchild just makes her even more so.” Violet said as she squeezed Molly’s hand and Molly smiled shyly back at her. She had been pleased that Sherlock’s parents liked her, she hadn’t expected that.
“After everything you’ve done for Sherlock and having put up with our two troublesome boys, how could you not be wonderful?” Siger added as Molly’s smile widened. It was amusing to see how different Sherlock and Mycroft were from their parents. Their parents were so warm and caring and open with their thoughts and affections. Sherlock and Mycroft could certainly take a page or two from their parent’s books.
“Thank you, I think you’re wonderful too. You raised them after all.” Molly replied and rubbed her stomach absent-mindedly. “And I know he or she will be so happy to have you as their grandparents.”
“Any child would.” Mycroft said and Sherlock and Molly looked at him.
“Don’t forget yourself Mycroft. The child will need an uncle too. Someone they can turn to in order to help them get out of trouble. Someone to steal cake for you, spit up on your suit and to run around your house for you, chasing away any clowns.” Sherlock teased Mycroft who shook his head. He was going to care for the child obviously but doing things like that… he just couldn’t see it. Instead, Mycroft looked around the room. Taking a moment to appreciate his family talking and accepting these new members into the family.
Maybe after everything with Eurus, all of them Holmes family were being given another chance. Mummy and Daddy had tried with the three of them, tried to understand Eurus, tried to help Sherlock comprehend the losses he had suffered at such a fragile age, tried to help Mycroft not be as closed off and practical-minded as a teenager ought to have been. They had tried. They loved and supported and helped, the sad reality was that it wasn’t enough. How could any parent have coped with what they had had to cope with? Three genius but troubled children; a daughter smarter than anyone on Earth and who wanted to kill her brother. A son, traumatised by the death of this friend and the loss of his home that he dealt by reinventing Victor as a beloved pet who needed to be put to sleep. Then there was Mycroft himself, already too practical to believe their kind words, their attempts to convince them that they would be OK, that they would survive as a family. The one who had to shrug off his childhood and see the futures that would be laid out for them, despite their parents’ wishes and hopes otherwise.
No, with this baby, they would be given a chance to do things right. This baby would be protected, they would be adored and supported. They would not know the darkness and dangers and pains of this world. They would never doubt that they were special, that they were loved. Whatever they needed, they would have. Whatever they wanted would be theirs. And all of them, every member of the Holmes family would to things right. For their child. For their grandchild. For their niece or nephew.
Niece or nephew. Mycroft had to admit, as the conversation turned to Violet and Molly discussing Violet’s pregnancies and Sherlock and Siger went to make tea, he liked the thought of having a niece or nephew. Someone who loved him unconditionally. Someone who would pull on his tie and scribble over his reports and require nappy changes and who would someday lisp out the words ‘Uncle Mycroft’. Uncle Mycroft.
He could get used to that.

Mishalecki JIBCon 2018 Panel
Misha: We’re doing a panel with Misha Jared and little Jared. This is already dirty.
They wish the mothers in the audience a Happy Mother’s Day :)
Jared: “First and foremost to all the mothers out there, thanks to all the mothers out there!”
Jared to Misha: Aren’t you junkless? On the show, on the show! Haven’t we discussed that?
If French Mistake Sam and Dean went to a convention: Jared says, “Sam would be very confused... he’d be very happy and he’d treat it as a riddle of some sort!”
Misha: “I would be taking a lot of selfies and tweeting... something I don’t ever do!”
Misha on a mock of cons: Jared would have a mirror in the photo ops room that you'd keep checking. Jared jokes: I do have that! That was based on me!
Con French Mistake world Dean would have sex with all the fans.
David Barry saw Jared and Jensen’s trailer in a vid on Instagram and was like, “Omg that’s your trailer!!! There’s a brick wall!”
Jared is casually & repeatedly resting his hand on Misha’s thigh.
When Misha’s manager saw the French Mistake he was like, “Wow Misha it’s so great getting to see you play yourself!”
Jared actually rewatches The French Mistake, he loves it.
Jared: “It brings me great joy to watch the French Mistake... lol the bit of you (Misha) pushing someone away!” That part was apparently unscripted.
Fan: “My name is Shaked.” Jared: “That is ShakAwesome!” Lol
Two fans with the same name. “Are you friends because of your name?” “No, we’re friends because of you.”
Fan asks about influencing. Misha: I’m having a hard time influencing Jared. We’re talking to somebody about that. Sometimes Jared influences me very quickly
Misha: I really want to influence Jared and I feel it. I’ve got some pills from my doctor Jared: (at a loss): I can't...I can't top that. //There's a pause in the room and finally the most uproarious laughter from the crowd.
Misha says he can’t hear the word “influence” in non-convention life anymore without cracking up. Jared agrees.
Jared: "Are you trying to make me influence my microphone? ... You're right, I'm gripping it too low..." Everybody laughs.
Fan: “I would be so satisfied to see Sam kill Lucifer!” Jared: “No shit, right!?”
Jared: I hope Sam will be the one to kill Lucifer. I think he just wants to see Lucifer dead no matter what.
Jared: "I'm gonna say the only nice thing to Misha of my entire life." Misha covers his ears: "I don't want to spoil our relationship."
Fan: What inspires you about each other’s charity work? Jared says that his charity work has been accidental and “totally on y’all” (crediting the fans) and inspired by Misha. Says that Misha makes charity a part of his life, is dedicated to is, goes above and beyond. Jared had everyone clap for Misha, then they hug :)
Misha tells Jared it was brave to come out with his mental health issues and how important it is and how much it’s helped and inspired others to seek out help. He applauds Jared for not being afraid to show his vulnerable side and helping to break down the stigma.
Misha: It’s been great teaming up - J2M teamed up on the support chatline, came up with the idea on a flight back from a con. And then the fans stepped up & did it.
Jared on charity work: “Y’all really did it, we’re just the faces on the poster.”
Would you play truth or dare with Jared, Misha? Misha: Absolutely not. Jared: That’s the smartest thing you’ve ever said.
Jared offering to play truth or dare: “Be careful... I have a very big imagination!”
Jared to the fan: Do YOU want to play truth or dare?" Fan: "A voice in my head is telling me no." Jared and Misha: "GOOD. ALWAYS LISTEN TO THAT VOICE."
Jared recalled when Misha DID play truth or dare and he chose "dare" right off the bat "like a ROOKIE!" lol
Fan asks if Jared could crush a watermelon between his thighs. Jared is pretty confident he could. Misha: “That’s what I said, and it was a mistake because now people are going to bring watermelons to cons.”
Now they’re debating whose thighs are stronger, lol.
Jared talking about the Padalecki family going skiing with the Speight family.
Jared: “I currently have a rip in my ACL and my FCL and a bruise on my knee and I blame Speight!” Jared went skiing with Speight and his knee popped and flipped around!
Jared had a skiing accident recently, during Rich’s episode, felt his knee pop, foot pointed the wrong way, ski didn’t come off. Lay there in shock. People in ski lift shouting down “are you all right”, Jared just groaning.
Jared’s ski accident: He didn’t tell anybody because the actors are not allowed to ski! Just toughed his way through it. Torn ACL, bone bruises
Jared's brother gave his knee an MRI and confirmed his injury. Apparently it’s in his clause that he’s not allowed to ski. Now the seasons over, “It feels so good to tell that story! I was just like hobbling around like 'Hey, I'm fine.’” Better now but still sore.
Misha on Jared’s awful ski accident /blown knee story: “That’s the longest excuse I’ve ever heard for not being able to crush a watermelon.”
Jared’s now trying to remember the Ninja Turtle theme song.
Biggest life lesson they learned. Jared: “Don‘t eat yellow snow.“ Misha: “Learn how to use a toilet.“
Jared: Life is short but try to live like life is long sometimes.
Jared: I challenge you to spend a week or a month as if life is long because life is short. Try to plant seeds in a garden you’ll never see grow. Try to be who you want to be in 50 years and be sure that, when you look back, you're proud of who you are and your relationships.
Jared says that living like life is short makes him anxious, so lately he’s been living like life is long and it's helped.
Misha: “I have been learning from my kids, who have an amazing capacity to live in the moment.”
Misha’s telling the I Wish For This story. Tells the story about trying to rush his kids into their van and his daughter said: “look dandelion puffs.” They blew and made wishes and his daughter said, “I wish for this.”
Misha: “There can be a spectacular opportunity in any given moment if you pay attention to it.”
Fan: I like your shoes, Jared. Jared: I like your truth, too Fan: SHOES Jared: oh lol, I thought that was pretty deep
Fan compliments Jared's shoes. Turns out Gen picked them out. “My wife has good taste in clothes."
Fan: “Which role would you never play?” Misha “Debbie, in Debbie does Dallas.” Jared: “Dallas, in Debbie does Dallas.” Lol
The music suddenly comes on to end the panel. Jared fell off his chair when the music came on and Misha had to help him up :P

J2 TorCon 2017 Gold Panel
Jared cut his nose this morning shaving and he was bleeding in the shower.
Jared: We premiere this week! Jensen: But we already know what happens...
Jensen got a small coffee this morning: “So I’m gonna be a little slow.”
Complicated AU question. Jensen: Next question.
The question is about how relationships with AU versions of characters might be different than what Sam and Dean expect, how will they react?
Jared likes seeing how things turn out, how they work out differently than expected (like Mary). “Man plans, God laughs.”
Jensen: I haven’t read a script since season two.
Fan: Congrats on your new additions! Jared, wide-eyes: We have new additions??
Jensen (about the AU): Is it ripped or rift? Jared: *facepalm*
Time period you would go back to? Jared: Late 60′s, the modern renaissance. Thinks it would be fun to like go to the car hop and stuff. Jensen: Dinosaurs. Jared: You’d be eaten by a tyrannosaurus? Jensen: Uh, yeah! Better than dying of polio.
Jensen: I wouldn’t wanna go back in time ‘cause everything we have now is a luxury, a lot of it we wouldn’t have back then even in the 60′s.
Jensen: I wanna see some cool shit. Dinosaurs.
What if John came back, given who they are now? Jensen: Thought it was most obvious for Dean needing Dad rather than Mom with Amara’s gift.
Jared made the “straight legs” joke again like at the last con about what Dean needed. Jensen: Who needs those? Jared: I said that last time and Jeffrey Dean Morgan lost his shit (referring to this x lol)
Jared: Dean realizing Dad isn’t a god, Sam having a bone to pick... both would see him as more human now. Mediating.
Fan asks if they met Doris (the blow up doll at the convention). J2 are confused and alarmed lol. Jared: Nice question you picked, Ackles!
At one point Jared tries to drink his iced coffee, laughs, and spits it out :P
What would soulless J2M look like? Jensen: You’re lookin’ at him.
Fan: If you were soulless would you go shopping? Boys laugh. Jared: Yeah!
Jared teasing about begging Sera Gamble for time off. Jensen: I just ask for good stories, but ...
Soulless!Jared would probably be very mathematical. Jensen: I would be wildly irresponsible. On a day-to-day basis.
Prank question. Jensen about he and Jared: We made a pact early on, we’re better as allies. Better as a team.
Jared hooked up the hair/makeup trailer to Misha’s front bumper when he parked in front of it. A crew member took it off when it got dark lol. Jared came out of his trailer and saw that it had been removed and was like yeah, that’s probably good. During the day it was funny because you could see it was obviously hooked to the trailer, but couldn’t tell so much at night.
Did J2 carve the SW DW on the table? Jared: It was outlined for us, but we did the actual carving.
Jared: The scene felt like Sam and Dean talking about what they had done, but also talking about what we (J2 and the SPNFamily) have done.
Fan: Initials are like claiming the bunker as their home. Jensen: Better than peeing on everything, generally how we do it lol.
Fan: Are the SPN years the best of your life? They hope it isn’t the best, that there’s more to come, but Jared: If this is what defines my career, I couldn’t be happier. I love a great book, but I’m excited to finish it.
Fan tells J2 about how Misha insulted Baby during his panel, calling her 40. J2 say it isn’t that insulting when Misha can’t even add (the car being 50). They remind Misha that the car is the real #3 on the call sheet lol.
Jensen wants to know what else Misha said about the car. Fan says he said it was impractical. Jensen: And wearing the same clothes everyday is practical?
Fan: Misha said it was an impractical old gas guzzler. Jared: He’s a gas guzzler! Fan: Misha says Baby breaks down all the time. Jensen: Kind of like him. Jared: He’s just jealous.
J2 about Misha: He’s fourth on the call sheet after Baby, and he’s trying to usurp. Jensen: The car’s not even actually on the call sheet, but we know.
Jensen: Let’s be honest, the car is not practical, but it’s awesome.
J2 do their impression of season 1 Sam and Dean from the Pilot, with Jared giving himself bangs and J2 doing high voices and cracking each other up.
Jensen wants to see modern-day Henry Winchester on the show. Like current Grandpa Winchester. Played by Sam Elliott.
Jared: I was gonna say, I wanna see Danneel on the show. Jensen: Kiss ass! Jared: In all fairness, he killed my wife on the show so I’d like to kill his. He could help, obviously, he could hold her (like how they killed Ruby lol). Jensen: And then we’ll just have a viewing party for all the children. Boys crack up.

J2 PittCon 2017 Main Panel
J2 came running through the crowd from the back of the room.
Jared: Welcome to our wonderful dysfunctional family.
Jensen was yelling for Jim Beaver (also at the convention) to come back when he was in the glass walkway above the panel room.
Jensen teasing Jared: Hearing goes at 35...
Jared apologizes for back problems in ops. Jensen: What’d you do? Jared: I think I turned 35 and everything stopped working.
Jared: Are you done yammering, Mr. Ackles? Jensen: Never :P
Jensen thanks everyone for being here opening day of football season since Pittsburgh is the most sports city on the planet apparently lol.
Someone yelled that they love Jensen and Jared said, “I love him, too,” so another fan yelled that they loved Jared and he said, “I know” lol.
Danneel wanted to FaceTime Jensen during photo ops because Arrow was saying “Dada.”
Jensen’s favorite ep to film was Baby. Jared mentioned The French Mistake, Changing Channels, Hollywood Babylon.
In Hollywood Babylon, they got bigger trailers for the actors in the ep and J2 were like, “We’ll take them.”
Working with kids on set depends on the parents.
Jared says that sometimes kids would rather Game Boy...Jensen: Game Boy???
Working with kids is logistically challenging because they can only shoot so many hours. Jared says it’s tough when kids don’t seem into it but have pushy parents, but it’s great when the kids love acting. Jensen says it’s nice to have innocent energy on set. Child actors don’t overthink characters like adults do.
J2 talking at the same time :P
Jensen says watching father-child relationships on television affects him more now that he’s a father.
Fan: When is the s13 promo coming? J2: I imagine pretty soon. Maybe this week or next week. They’re not sure, though.
Jensen: We’ve lived these characters, and have people to remind us of our real life. Each other, our wives...
Jensen jokes that he hasn’t read a script since s3. Jared: He gets a flip book version. Jensen: Really trying to get popup.
Boys cracking each other up :)
Jensen: The Winchesters don’t live in a world with superheroes. They live in a world with real heroes.
Fan: Would you guys do an Arrow crossover? Jensen: Oh, sure. Let Misha go over there.
Jensen just called Stephen Amell a “crossover slut” and that he needs to “lock it up” on the Arrow crossovers lol.
Except each other, Jared liked working with Gabriel/Richard and Ruby/Gen. Jared said it was a lot of fun to have Richard around because such crazy things happen on set with Gabriel.
Jensen liked working with Briana. She helps stretch his comedic muscles.
Jensen just said posse magnet and Jared said: “You’re confusing reality with porn again” :P
Favorite lines? Jared: Low sodium freaks.
Reaction when they found out so many characters were killed in the finale? Jared: I don’t like it, but it makes great TV.
Jensen’s reaction was the same as when he reads a scene when he dies: “Meh. I’ll come back.”
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go? Jared: Vancouver and Austin because that’s where my family is. Jensen: *pretends to snore*
Jared would travel to Florence, Italy. Jensen would travel to one of the Scandinavian countries. Would also love to go back to Japan.
Every time the room starts to vibrate (like from helicopters flying by) Jensen looks for Transformers lol.
There were a lot of things behind the scenes during the end of season 11 that made things complicated with the last three eps.
They don’t usually shoot stuff they can’t use in an episode. Jensen says they’ve gotten it down to a science. Things are rarely on the cutting room floor.
There is enough gag reel footage for a 30 min. gag reel just from the first 2-3 episodes. They want the gag reels to be longer, but they don’t budget for it.
Jared: I’d watch a season of gag reels. Everyone: Us, too!
Fan asks a tech question and mentions Jensen may have more perspective because he directs. Jensen: I usually do hehehe.
Jared: I haven’t seen Magic Mike. Jensen: All the way through.
Jensen watches The Change-Up a lot. Jared sings along to Alvin and the Chipmunks when he puts it on for his kids and watches it even after his kids will go take a nap.
Jared’s favorite big bad character is Lucifer. Jensen agrees, then gives honorable mentions to Azazel and Alastair.
One of Jensen’s favorite scenes in s11 was when he was talking with Chuck.
J2 are open-mouthed about a fan’s amazing binge-watch of Supernatural.
Jared’s favorite dramatic TV show to binge is Breaking Bad. J2 both like BB.
Jared is fangirling over Jensen’s Eric Brady character :P
Jensen’s favorite show to binge is Arrested Development.
After mentioning a few shows they enjoy, Jensen says, “But that’s enough advertising for other TV shows.”
J2 haven’t pranked each other in a long time. It got too dangerous. They usually work together when doings pranks on other people.
Jared is waving his foot over Jensen’s crotch lol.
Their usual prank target is Misha. Recently made him mess up and when the director was like, “Misha, what’s up?” J2 were like: “Yeah, Misha!”
Jensen hit Jared in the balls when Jared was hugging Misha during filming on Friday. Jensen says that Jared then said, “I hope that was you, Misha.” Jared: I was trying to break him! Jensen says that Jared was squatting a little in front of him during the hug so he just brought his foot up a little... lol
Jensen: “I already worked with the actor I wanted to work with.” Jared: Aww!! Jared then hugs Jensen. Then Jensen says, “Actually, my Dad...” lol.
Jared would have loved to work with Robin Williams <3
J2 fist bump at the end of the panel :)

J2 MinnCon 2017 Main Panel
Jared to first time convention goers: “So, Supernatural is a show about two brothers. Sam and Dean-”
He talks about how Jensen and he have been able to play pretend on the show for 13 years and not sure how many people can say they’ve done the same.
Jared thanks the fans for letting him bring Sam to life. “I love Sam Winchester. I dig him. He’s kind of a nice dude.”
Jared: How many people here are Minnesota natives? We’re surrounded! Let’s run! They’re too cold to chase us! lol
Jared’s back hurts. Jensen: Is your back affecting your brain? Jared: Yes! My back brain.
Salmon Dean jokes.
Jared finds out a fan often has their last name mispronounced. Jared teases: Oh, boo hoo! How do you think I feel?
The weirdest pronunciation of Jensen’s last name is Ake-less. People have pronounced Jared’s last name as Padel-ski.
Jensen tells a story of a news guy who just gave up trying to pronounce Jared’s name lol.
Jared: Chad Michael Murray, who I met 17 years ago on GG. Y’all weren’t born yet. Jensen: I was born, but never heard of it.
Chad gave Jared the nickname Padawhacker lol.
Jared jokes: Don’t watch GG, you’ll see what a real man Dean can be. Jensen: I’m not even sure there was men on the show.
Jensen: If the script says that we eat pizza next week, the prop person asks us in advance for our order.
Jensen hates pickles. Doesn’t like condiments either. He knows when a pickle has been picked off. “Don’t play that with me, I know there was a pickle here.”
Jensen had to film a hot dog scene recently but didn’t want to eat lots of onions, so he had radishes chopped up to look like onions. Jared’s favorite part was food hanging from Jensen’s lip while talking and Alex couldn’t hold it together lol.
If Jensen could change something about Dean he would have them not make him eat as much!
Jared appreciates the differences between him and Sam, like some things that might annoy him.
Jensen: “I wish we used more gadgets. There are so many things in the back of the Impala that we never use. Obviously the big ticket item, the grenade launcher, finally got used. Next on the list is the grappling hook!”
Jensen wants Dean climbing up with a grappling hook and for Sam to be like, the door’s open...
Jared: There have been almost a dozen Supernatural episodes named after Led Zeppelin songs (makes crowd name them).
Jensen: I know I have all of Led Zeppelin’s vinyls at home. Jared: Because he’s old!
There’s a sign in the crowd that is supposed to say “We love Sam and Dean” but the N fell off so it says “We love Sam and Dea” - Jared: I can see this sign in the audience that says...We love Sam and the Drug Enforcement Agency!” lol
Fan asks: If you could relive any day, which day would you relive and why? Fans shout out: Tuesday!
Jensen about his twins being born: My wife is way cooler than me, she was cool as a cucumber. And on a lot of drugs!
During the birth, Arrow didn’t want to turn over. Jensen: She’s stubborn like her mother. They were C-section babies.
Jensen tells the story about how Jared knows him so well that he told him to check to make sure he had his passport when Danneel was about to go into labor with the twins and Jensen really had forgotten it. Jensen to Jared: I don’t know how you knew.
When they made it back to Austin, Jensen’s friend in the police department drove him through 7 stoplights so that he could make it in time for the twins being born.
Jared calls Gen and Danneel badasses :)
The day Jared wants to relive the most hasn’t happened yet. It’ll be the last day of filming Supernatural. Jared: I know after we film the last episode I’ll want to do it all again.
Jared on the last day of filming SPN: It’ll be us and hopefully Collins is there and whoever else, and it’s going to go by so fast.
Jared: The last day of filming is going to be hard and the next day will be sad but hopefully that’s many years from now.
Jared: “If Sam and Dean knew everything that would happen to them over 13 years, would they do it all over again? Yes.”
Jensen about fans who have seen every episode twice: “You complete me.”
Jared: That’s badass. Jensen: You’re badass.
Boys talking about when they knew they’d be good friends and brothers.
Jensen knew instantly that he and Jared would be friends. The first and only time they fought, he realized it would be a solid relationship. They got into a fight once in the early days of SPN and then sat down and said, “That can’t happen again” and it never did <3
Jared: The struggles are the moments in a relationship when you figure out whether it’s worth it to carry on or not. When something is tested is when you’ll see if it’s worth it.
Jared also knew that they had a lasting friendship the first time they got jumped.
Jared: “We got jumped and Ackles came back to make sure his boy was alright.”
The moment where Dean stuffed candies into his pocket was unscripted, Jensen just wanted candy.
Jared: The writers, directors, crew, etc, know that we really understand our characters, we’re not just trying to look cool.
Jensen about being allowed to change scripts. “There is a trust there, and we haven’t broken it, and we wouldn’t break it.” One of Jensen’s favorite parts of the show is the collaboration.
Boys say the best idea wins. Not a lot of room on the set for ego.
On anxiety and depression - Jared: Sometimes love and affection and support isn’t enough. You need someone unbiased. I proudly have therapy twice a week.
Jared: I had a day when I wasn’t sure I’d see the sun rise again. But I haven’t had a day where I feel like I’m tortured in years.
Jared on how to deal with depression and anxiety: Seek professional help, period. “I don’t have bad days anymore. Haven’t in years. Thanks for y’all’s support. Go get professional help. It works.
Jensen: I took a drama class in high school because I had to take an arts elective and didn’t want to sing and couldn’t draw.
Jared: I still have a lot of life to live. Though I do feel old and I have grey hair.
Jared about acting: If it sucks and you want to walk away, then walk away. But if it sucks and you feel like it’s worth it, keep going.
Jared’s oldest son, Tom, just started school this week. Jared: I remember my first day of kindergarten, and I wanted to talk to my son on his, too, so I FaceTimed him. Jared set his alarm for 4:30AM so he could.
Fan: Is there any bad guy or monster you’d like to face off against again? Jared: Ruby!
Jared, imitating his kids watching SPN in the future: “Daddy, why did Uncle Jensen kill Mom?”
Jensen would like to see Death back on SPN.
Jared: The best thing I learned to do in therapy, and am still learning, is to see everything for what it is.
Jared: Stop using the word mistake. You didn’t make a mistake you made a decision. Don’t let perfect be the enemy of great. Jared says that Jensen helps him with his perfectionism.
Jared says that whenever he feels negative about things Jensen lifts him up.
Jared mentioned that he struggles feeling good in his body and will tell Jensen that he feels fat and Jensen will tell him that he looks good.
Jensen: If you make a mistake you’re not losing. You’re either winning or learning.
Fan has a question for Jared. Jared pushes Jensen away. Jared: Every time I push Jensen, take a shot!
It took Jared two years to write his 40 page chapter for FDEWB. He finds writing very anxiety inducing.
Jared: The Padaleckis and the Ackles went to Turks and Caicos together a couple years back. Jared was writing the chapter during that vacation. Jensen was like: You know we are on vacation, right?
Jensen: He kept writing his chapter, so I walked away. Jared: In a little Speedo. And I was like, are those a roll of certs in your front center pocket? The boys are cracking up. Jensen: I have all sorts of sweet treats in my pocket.
Jared says if he writes more, he might just put it on Gen’s blog. He mentioned the blog as a way to continue writing.
Jared: “There’s a certain freedom that I feel when they call action. I’m free to be whoever I am.”
Jensen about getting through hard times: I go to family, friends, and if that doesn’t work I go to the gun range.
Jensen says he tries to be very practical about his expectations, where he is, where he wants to be, and sometimes he’ll make a list.
Jared: Pain is mandatory. Suffering is optional. Pain happens. Get through the pain and be the badass rockstar you are.
Random tweets after the panel: some penis jokes lol and lots of touching between the boys.

J2 VanCon 2017 Main Panel
*Reminder: Always watch convention panel videos (if possible) for full context/details.
J2 ran in from the back, and then did their jump onstage :)
Jensen lost his voice.
J2 point out some of the SPN crew members that are in the crowd and give them some love.
Jared dropped the mic after a fan said she’s been watching since Gilmore Girls and he ran out to give her a hug.
If Jensen could play any female character he would play Baby.
Jared would choose to play Charlie because she’s unique. Loves how she’s into LOTR, Star Wars, etc. Jensen: That’s she’s a nerd, basically. Jared also talks about how he played Meg!Sam and gives a shout-out to the amazing Rachel Miner who is also at the con :)
Jensen says he would play Ruby or Becky if he could play any female character. Jared moves his chair away lol. Jensen then picks Rowena.
The French Mistake and Changing Channels were Jared’s favorite to film.
One of Jensen’s favorite episodes to film was Baby. He feels that it was one of the best episodes they’ve done. He also likes the funny ones, where Dean gets to be more comedic.
After asking what movie genre they would like to do, the fan says that Jensen and Misha should do a romcom. Jared: I’d direct that. Jensen: *laughing* You’ve never directed anything. That’s the scenario it would take??
Jensen jokes that he would do a western or romcom with Misha: “You know what they say, give it to ‘em in a way they don’t expect it.” Jensen says after: “I just threw up a little bit, I want you to know that.” (x)
One of the best places Jensen has been to is Japan because the culture was so different and he appreciates the diversity.
Jensen talks about how Jared acts at restaurants lol.
Fan asks how they think they connect most with their characters. Jensen points to Jared: Hair.
Jared has a tough time believing he can live up to people’s expectations but with our love he’s finally happy where he is. He relates to Sam because they both took a long time finding their role in life.
Jensen said he and Dean share the same moral compass and Jensen has the desire to fight for good and help the helpless.
J2 argue over whether it’s Sam and Dean vs Dean and Sam lol.
LOL Jared started to say Jensen but it sounded like he tried to say Genevieve when he was telling a story so he had to stop and start again.
Fan has a question for Jensen, Jensen: I’m all yours. Jared *fans self*
Jared talks about how he and Jensen helped create their characters.
Jensen opted not to direct an episode this year so he could spend more time with his family.
J2 are arguing like an old married couple and cracking each other up lol.
Where has Dean been keeping the Samulet? Jared: Wouldn’t you like to know.
Butt puns/jokes are now being made lol. Endless ass-puns, including: “Put a plug in this” lmao.
Jensen: This is usually the point on set where they call for a second meal. Jared: Rump roast? :P
Jensen mimes throwing a ball in the air and Jared mimes hitting it with a baseball bat.
Jensen says the Samulet is probably in the trunk lol.
A fan asks J2 about nightmare roles. Jensen says he wouldn’t want to play a role that could be damaging to his health. Jared says he wouldn’t want to play someone who was anti-LGBTQ, White-Supremacist, etc, someone he didn’t see as human.
Jared on not wanting to play a white supremacist, misogynist, or someone who is anti-LGBTQ: “It’s kind of scary to think of trying to humanize someone who has such inhumane characteristics.”
Fan asks if they could write the next season of SPN what would it entail? Jensen: Comfy chair. Jared: Peace. Jared goes on to say that Dean and Sam have to die in the show and that’s the only way they’ll find peace.
Jensen talks about the boys dying, too. Says that Sam and Dean have never had a moment where they looked at each other and said, “We’re done.” He thinks it will be a really special moment.
They haven’t used a green screen since the Looney Tunes episode, aside from scenes in the Impala.
The worst thing Jensen had to overeat on set was the Turducken. Says he had to eat six fake Turducken burgers: “It was not a good day for Mr. Jensen Ackles.”
Jensen says that normally during food scenes when they call cut you can spit it out into a bucket. Jared: “Sexy, huh?” But Jensen had to keep swallowing the burgers because the way the scene was set up with him eating + the dialogue.
Fan: You should direct. Jensen (misunderstanding): Juju the rat? Jared: You should direct juju the rat! lol
Fan: I was wondering how your younger selves would react if you knew the impact you had on the world. Jared: *hugs them tightly*
Jensen: His younger self would not have believed the impact he and his family would have had on the world. Jared agrees and adds “honored.”
They are both honored to be part of this family and community.
Jensen and Rob sing after the last question while Jared dances a bit. Lots of touching and bumping into each other before they head off to sign the banners lol (x.x.x)
