y’all I just got the MOTHERLOAD of all pastries

#I have not eaten this much in months #My aunt found a cool bakery like an hour away so we made it this whole thing #I stay over at her house we leave at 5:30 #We buy donut for her students (12 or 15)#then the following:#Two homemade pop tarts two tag-a-long Girl Scout cookie donuts 2 thin mint GS donuts a French cruller with vanilla frosting a caramel role #3 plain cake donut one cake donut with chocolate frosting one chantilly cream mousse cake four macarons in espresso chocolate rasberry and #Black berry (I wanted lemon but panicked and said rasberry) a ham and cheese croissantFollowed by two loafs of bread and an orange spice te #And McDonald’s Hashbrowns #To be clear this is all being shared and my aunt planned to spend a decent chunk of money #It was something like 112 bucks?#Not as bad as I thought tbh #We had four boxes of baked goods. Four. Boxes.#You know what I eat every other day of my life? A bowl of yogurt in the morning and a bowl of veggies with egg at night #I don’t usually consume the amount of calories I just ate in a week #Mutuals sending you pastries #So early morning roads showing up at peoples doors and handing them treats + tea? #the worst is when it promises you'll feel better and then you simply. do not. you feel worse and then you want to harm again bc surely that #will make you feel better right? THAT WOULD BE A NO. IT DOES NOT.#anyway today i went to spotlight cause i was sad cause i got the result for my 35% assignment i really struggled with. 32.5%. failure.#and at spotlight i made the foolish error of buying without knowing price. but like who makes a book a normal softcover crochet pattern boo #$55?! anyway it's a lovely book and am excited to try a few of teh patterns but the guilt is eating me alive #and also im super stressed about the assignment i have to turn in on thursday and haven't started #anyway i was literally four and a half hours away from being seven days clean #and i am just so sad right now #and i reopened one of the scars on my wrist too while on shift this morning so that's fun #not badly but it's just gonna mean it scars even more isn't it because of course #i was feeling incredibly awful for some reason i can't even remember and i kinda clawed up my arms. and no i don't count that as #breaking my streak bc it didn't cause much damage #i just. placement is so wonderful but life is so so hard #i don't know i want a hug and the assignment done and everything bad unmade #and the scars i have to look at every day on placement gone.#i want to talk to s but i haven't responded to her last message and i don't know how to respond but i need to respond to that #:((#honestly actually i think i want to talk to aunty. friend's mum. in person. and get a hug. i want a hug.#im just. #tried to talk about it on vc but no one's paying attention haha #talkin about it here cuz I've been meaning to share with. someone #hi if you're reading this:)#peter prattles #anyways. started a new project recently; i got a model for my mask so I'm thinking about printing it out?#got the STL (STereoLithography (file format for CAD software made by 3d systems)) files fhe other day; they look like they'll fit well toge #ther after i print them; so that's good. not a lot of sanding ill have to do on the main face shell; 8&#augh #*; it's already textured #i keep pressing comma. stop #anyways. got the files; it took FOREVER to splice but that's alright. i haveta do it regardless #*slice not splice #the whole process of slicing something (FOR 3D MODELING BY THE WAY) is really interesting; i should look more into that #the thing is; the files and info I got on them didn't say what orientation to print the mask in? that was odd #it also didn't say what fill / support types to use. but I'll figure that out in the morning #oh! my favourite part I'm working on for the mask is that it is able to attach / detach in specific sections; so it's easily disassembled #I'm using neodymium magnets (specifically 10mmx1mm or 1/16in discs) to connect it all together #I'm thinking about making it disconnect in about 4/6 different places? four for sure #not sure about the last two though. thinking about making the LENSES of the mask detachable; but i feel like they're more likely to fall of #uhoh i think i did something wrong #i printed (or started to print at least) the domed mesh on the 3d printer instead of the specifically labeled resin printer. i don't have j #I don't have a resin printer #wow there's a lot of tags. okay #so many thoughts in my head apparently #eh whatever. hear about my 3d prints boy #there's an option to make a ventilated mask; or one without the vents at the front #the vents are just small cavities near the front of the mask #right near the nose / mouth would be #ohh it's actually lined up beautifully; it blends right into the webbing on the front of the face #face? mask? eh

#song of the day #'if I don't make it back from where I've gone / just know I loved you all along'#I'm setting up my queue for a more proper recommendation tomorrow but I've been rereading 'shoulder the sky' by Night_Fury #the whole series draws from various Amazing Devil lines for titles and such #'back then I was dauntless' is my favorite reworking of the Melidaan arc I've ever seen absolutely anywhere #and the title is a line from my favorite Amazing Devil song 'The Calling' but 'Inkpot Gods' is used to stunning effect in-story #and the beautiful refrain from the end of the song is playing in my head now as I keep going into the series #today was a deeply unpleasant day: the inevitable finally happened and Duncan cut himself doing his mudlarking #we'd been trying to schedule a preventative tetanus shot but several times we've gone in for the properly scheduled shot #and found out that they didn't actually have one in stock. unspeakably frustrating #and today we ran out of time for a preventative one. I woke up #(actually I woke up for work as he was going out for his walk but I got a migraine halfway through my morning meeting--no good--#and took the rest of the day off--turns out to have been a very good thing--and went back to sleep. so I woke up the second time)#to Duncan coming back from his walk with a sliced finger and the grody plastic-and-tin swan that had done the slicing #(picture of said swan under the cut because why not. it does look neat. can't see the sharp edge in the pic though it's underneath)#and so then we called the pharmacy and got the same automated 'of course you can have a tetanus shot' as ever so we made an appointment #and we got there and they did actually have a shot in stock this time! except that they weren't able to administer it #because now he's post-exposure that's a different shot and they aren't allowed. so we had to go to the urgent care instead #all told we spent about four hours out of the house on this mission but Duncan did get his shot and some bonus antibiotic goo for the cut #and it was worth it but also bleeeeeeegh it was miserable. which is where my recommendations do come in #when I tell y'all that I spent today reading Night_Fury's fics and also looking at valiants' CoD art and it saved me #whooo I mean it. being simultaneously stressed + bored is the nightmare state for me and instead I had wonderful things in my phone

just spent the last ten minutes bombarding my mum's ear with medieval fair shit bc we're both going to one together on saturday. I'm just excited.

#last time i went was with a group. there were ten of us and we made a lil girls trip of it #the morning of I did like four people's hair (not including my own)#ranging from a faux-hawk to small elf braids to a half up style to a half up braid space buns buns #and i helped someone get their corset on #it was fantastic #and i am gonna namedrop where we stayed bc we're not there now and it was super cool -> the miners loft airbnb in ballart #it was so cool and fit all ten of us comfortably #one did sleep on the couch but all the couches i sat on we very very comfy #not good parking but a great experience
