I was wondering if there are any rare happy ritsu moments in ur zombie au since hes always miserable I think,, like is he always miserable or is he happy/not miserable and feeling kinda good sometimes?
VWHDGDGD NO YEAH OFC HE'S HAPPY SOMETIMES im just horrible and enjoy putting him through misery
ive never been able to get a genuine smile to look right on his face in my art style either i think thats part of it. as ive said his face is just built to be mildly uncomfortable and bothered and i lean into it sm it's starting to get kinda funny
but yes ritsu is happy plenty! i think, canonically, he just seems like the type of person to me that tends to turn lemonade back into lemons. he's easy to scare and his first reaction to things is often Dread and Anxiety. he dwells on the negatives a lot and seems to be a "hope for the best, expect the worst," kinda guy, but there's a section in this post abt shigeo always loving the little things in life, and ritsu steadily learns throughout the journey on how to do that and how healing it can rly be. even if he had to grow up too fast during this whole thing and learn things a kid should never have to, the journey also gave him some good insight and lessons in other places! ritsu is smart, he figures it all out
in terms of little things here n there he's the happiest lil guy on the planet when he finds one of his favorite foods—swings his legs while he sits and munches on a kitkat bar like he's got absolutely nothin in the world to worry abt. sometimes mob does smth funny that he laughs at; for the longest time i've had this silly image in my head of mob accidentally knocking down a bucket from a store shelf and it lands on his head and he just kinda stands there and makes noises.when the noises continue out of pure curiosity about the weird echoey quality it's giving them ritsu cannot help but lose it
besides tiny things tho, when tome comes around ritsu in general is a lot happier, just cuz he has somebody to talk to that will actually respond in some way. they're sorta reluctant partners in crime at first (at least on ritsu's end) but over time and over bonding they grow to rly like each other's presence. they bicker constantly but it's almost always fond eventually, and they shove each other and playfight until mob gets antsy enough to get worked up about it. rly, tome is a godsend to ritsu's mental health—after months and months of being effectively alone with his thoughts, he finally has another person to converse with. a person His Age, too!
tome is rly good at knowing when ritsu is thinkin himself into oblivion and she's Also rly good at being the most annoying girl on the planet to yank him outta that and replace any misery with Oh My God Get Off Me You Freak. she doesn't even do this on purpose at first, but over time she learns how to tell when he's thinking too hard and, ofc, she's grown attached and she cares, so she's as obnoxious as possible to lighten the mood
when they find reigen n teru, ritsu gradually gets Much happier still. now that he knows they're safe and the gang is finally back together (and now that there's an Adult present and he can relax a lil and let himself be taken care of) his stress levels r exponentially lowered. having teru back is another instant lift to his mood—im always a big fan of teru and ritsu friendship, and i think adding tome to their dynamic simply makes it more chaotic. truly a trio of the 3 most normal teenagers in existence which will surely bring nothing but good (reigen sweats offscreen)
actually this makes me feel bad for forever torturing him im gonna go draw happy zau ritsus brb ,.,.ok imback <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
#qktalks#anon#zombie au#tw guns#<- for that glock in the corner . sorry#actually it looks like he's at gunpoint in that one and just going teehee about it#he looooooves tormenting tome .and tome loves tormenting him. it's their favorite pastimes#i don't rly like the second one too much tbh the sleeves are weird but i think that's just the Nature of how poofy they can get#oh this is a great time to talk abt their dynamic. sorry.this ask isn't abt that.but now it is#so i realize that tome and ritsu ??? don't rly interact in canon at all. and neither do tome and teru . as a matter of fact#but consider. uhm.what ifthey did <3 GVYIEAV#like i said they're all So incredibly normal it'll make for a great time#^ genuinely i do think so actually. most of the time anyway#i touched on it a lil bit in recondite but i rly like the idea of mob ritsu tome and teru all being a friend group#teru would undoubtedly piss tome off sometimes she'd call him out on his bullshit#but like.in terms of the canon timeline i think post-mob teru would Totally listen to her#and take what she says abt How he is into consideration. he's trying to rebuild himself into somebody better#teru and ritsu already have a dynamic in canon but it feels pretty loose and it isn't fully explored at all#i think they work together rly well tho. there's no real evidence to the contrary iirc i think they work together in canon quite well#they think alike in terms of fighting#and in a setting like this‚ once teru is on the same page as ritsu on zombies‚ they're prolly a pretty damn good team#there's a lot of room for things to go wrong tho#if i had to sum it up rly succinctly it'd be: ritsu's motive is fear‚ tome's motive is curiosity‚ and teru's motive is power#what i mean by teru's being power is Not the pre-mob teru ''wanting'' to be powerful and unstoppable#i mean teru wants to have power over everything that is trying to hurt them#he doesn't Want to cower he wants to Fight tooth and nail#and i think ritsu's fear versus tome's curiosity and teru's drive of power conflicts a lot#ritsu is passive in the sense that he'll do anything in his power to avoid altercations with anything to order to keep mob safe#he isn't Active until something goes Wrong. and usually things go Wrong when teru and tome rush ahead#WOW sorry i went on a rant that was Completely unrelated to the fucking question. im at the 30 tag limit bye

Terukane getting ice cream :]
Ice cream
The moon is high in the sky, Tiara has been bathed and tucked in and Kou has gotten a complimentary kiss on the head. Teru heads out into the darkness.
He takes his usual path for a little while, checking his phone for the time before turning onto a different street. A busier night street with late open food stands and adults milling about.
He searches for a familiar face and approaches when he spots it.
“Thank you for meeting me, Aoi.”
Aoi Akane is leaning against a lamppost, looking through his phone in one hand, and a plate of takoyaki in the other. He's got the toothpick hanging loosely in his mouth, and between that and his unpleasant expression, he looks a little like a delinquent.
“Aah... No hello?”
Teru tilts his head at the other, looking at him sideways with a small smile. His hands are in his pockets.
“Are you mad?”
“No-”
Akane doesn't look up for a moment, pushing himself off the post and walking to meet him.
“It's not like coming all the way out here on a school night is a big hassle or anything.”
Despite the harsh tone, he holds out the takoyaki on offering to the class president.
“You're lucky I needed a break from studying.”
Teru declines the offer politely, but pulls out money from his pocket to hand over.
“Here. I was planning on buying you something anyway as a thank you.”
Akane looks at Teru's outstretched hand, taken aback for a moment, before pushing the money back toward him.
“I can't accept that. If you're gonna insist, just buy me something else. I didn't eat dinner tonight.”
“Hah…”
He takes his wallet back out to put his money away, looking to the open stands.
“Alright then, what do you want? Also, why aren’t you eating dinner in the first place?”
Akane hums thoughtfully while he looks at his feet, just a bit of a blush coming to his face.
“Ao-chan...called me over for homework help. By the time we finished, I was behind on my reading and-
Uh- It's fine, I normally power through with an energy drink.”
Teru rolls his eyes at the lovey dovey talk coming from him. He puts a hand on the other’s shoulder and pulls him over to look for a better meal.
“That’s no good, you know. No wonder you’re so thin.”
He pokes him in the ribs with an unusual air of friendliness. This makes Akane flinch with expectation, but he is surprised that it’s painless. Akane looks back at Teru casually- as casual as he can be with his guard up
“ Ah... Yeah...
I mean...you're one to talk- Is this your nightly routine? Someone as busy as you should really try sleeping. Otherwise that smile you wear all day will start to sag.”
It doesn't sound like it, but he is voicing some genuine concern. It's not like he hasn't noticed the moments where Teru's head is on the desk in the student council room- right before he picks it up and immediately begins antagonizing him.
“Well, it hasn’t yet.”
Teru shrugs and assures with his same smile.
“I do my best to keep the neighborhood safe. If I had more time I would go into town too, where there’s stronger spirits. Besides- I had dinner already.”
He turns their attention back to the topic, pointing to a curry and yakiniku stand.
“This place isn’t bad.”
Akane finds his mouth watering as soon as he catches a whiff of the yakiniku. He just nods, taking some steps ahead- something in him doesn’t want to let the upperclassman know he’s excited.
“ ...You know- you can’t keep the whole world safe. Sometimes I think you forget you’re just a student.”
“I’m not just a student, though.”
Comes the immediate rebuttal. Teru moves quickly to order the food Akane’s drooling at before he can argue.
“I’m a promising exorcist with a long family history to uphold. If I can’t even keep one town safe, then what am I?”
Akane squints at the other with his sharp eyes, cutting through the bullshit easily.
“You’re still just a kid, stupid. Tragedy is happening all over- that’s just how life and death interact. You should narrow your scope a bit to the things that matter most.”
He stabs the last of the takoyaki with the toothpick, holding it out as a final offering
“You’ve done a pretty good job keeping your brother safe. He’s still kicking, I think that’s a pretty solid track record.”
Teru leans forward and takes the food into his mouth with a blank expression. Chewing thoughtfully and shaking his head.
“ I’m not out to make a pity party.”
He takes the finished order from the vendor with a smile, pushing it into Akane’s hands.
“I’m here to thank you. For helping me today.”
“Ah-”
Akane definitely hadn’t meant to feed him couple style like that. He frowns, focusing on the meat in his hands instead.
“That’s what this was about? I thought for sure you were gonna wrangle me into some other business with you.”
The flustered look he receives makes him remember how much he likes messing with Akane and he has to stifle a chuckle with his hand, looking away.
“Well... I was curious about something…”
“What would that be?”
(His smile grows as he watches Akane take a bite, his face lighting up only a moment at the savory barbecue before he hides any less-than-annoyed expression from him. Has Teru ever bought someone food before that wasn’t his siblings? Has he ever hung out with friends?
“Ah... I was just wondering about your powers. Are they only effective at the school? Can you use it anywhere?”
It’s another moment where Akane chews another piece contently and swallows. Should he be telling him everything-? Well...he doesn’t seem like a threat right now...
“Mmm... it’s a bit more inconvenient than you’d think. My contract only allows me to use it at school- but I kind of prefer it like that.
It means I get to be more human- it’s not my problem off school grounds.”
“Mm. Ok. So I actually can’t really wrangle you into any other business.”
Teru nods along thoughtfully.
“Can you see supernaturals outside of school?”
He follows up while tapping the edge of his glasses with a curious expression.
“...
I mean- I’m not wearing these for no reason. That’s the one thing that follows me home.”
Akane turns away, carefully straightening his glasses back into order.
“Those pink things hide in my backpack. It’s better if I just don’t see it.”
Teru laughs.
“The mokke are pesky aren’t they? They stopped following me long ago- when I started zapping them on sight in the house.”
This makes Akane pause, looking at his feet for a second, then peering up at Teru under his glasses with sharp eyes.
“ I mean... it’s not like they’re hurting anything. Isn’t that a bit intense? Especially since your sister likes them.”
It feels weird, and he’s visibly uncomfortable defending the supernaturals he claims to hate so much.Teru looks a bit tense and glances away.
“ Mm. Tiara does like them, and they’re not the worst nuisance, but... If my grandparents visited, and there were stray spirits in the apartment... They would not approve.”
He says it with a sharpness. It carries a heavy weight.
“No wonder you’re uptight.
You’re high ranking and still under that kind of scrutiny?
Yikes.”
Akane scoffs as he leads them to a bench- strategically next to an ice cream stand- and sits down to finish his meal.
“Must be hard.”
Teru follows, hesitating for a moment before sitting down, like he can’t relax.
“Of course they’re watching me. I have my siblings with me, and they are also prospective exorcists. I can’t fuck up.”
He sighs and looks up at the sky, watching the distant twinkling stars cloud over. The vulgar language catches Akane off guard for a moment though, but he forgoes the snark this time.
“...Hey-
Don’t take this the wrong way but…
Do you have any friends?”
The blonde’s face scrunches for a moment in offense, but it doesn’t last as he notices the lack of humor in Akane. His lips press together.
“Um... No. Not really. I mean, I have classmates and... I have you?”
...Really-?”
The underclassman squints at him, not expected to fall into that category by any means. “So...you’re trying to do this exorcist responsibility, raise your siblings, and uphold your family’s name-”
He starts to talk with his hands, gesturing with more emphasis on each burden
“ AND you’re pushing away the only people that can really help you- on top of that you have NO social life or means of venting.”
He frowns, brow furrowing in concern and harsh judgement.
“You told me this wasn’t a pity party, but you’re making it hard not to be. I give you a year TOPS before you snap entirely.”
“That’s not- I mean. I’ve been fine for this long. I don’t see why that would change. It’s not like I have time to make friends.”
Teru has gotten defensive, fingers tapping against his knees as his jaw reddens.
“Yeah, but do you really want to burn out at the ripe age of 18 years?”
Akane leans forward, resting his chin in his hand and looking up at the other boy.
“Your current outlet is harassing me at school, but if that's all you have...
I don't know. That must be lonely, that's all.”
They sit in silence for a little while, and Akane keeps to himself as he thinks. Finally, he stands-
“Hold on.”
He walks a little bit over, and when he returns, it's with an ice cream cone in each hand. He holds out one to the older boy.
“It's chocolate raspberry- I don't know if you like that at all. But don't eat it if you don't want it. It's whatever.”
Teru takes it with both hands, looking down at it with shameful redness creeping up his cheeks. He doesn’t know how to respond, so he sits quietly, venturing to try a bite of the treat. It’s one of the first times Akane has seen him speechless. When he finally says something, it’s subdued. “It’s good.”
“Yeah…”
Akane tries not to look at him too much- but it's unfamiliar seeing him without his aura of overwhelming power. He...almost feels bad about it.
“...Raspberry is my favorite.
...What's yours?
Favorite flavor, I mean.”
“Chocolate.”
Teru smiles again, some of the ice cream on the tip of his nose.
“Then this isn't half bad for you, huh?”
Akane finds himself smiling back despite it all, though he keeps his gaze down to hide it.
“...What other kinds of things do you like?
Do you have any actual hobbies?”
Maybe this is good for him... both of them really- Talking like friends.
Teru is looking over at him again, his eyes piercing even when his expression is soft.
“Hobbies…”
He definitely has to think about it for a moment.
“I like to read and... Sing.”
“Singing, huh? Have you ever gone out for karaoke?”
Akane keeps glancing back at Teru, feeling antsy under his scrutiny- even though this is a different face than he normally makes.
“You'd probably enjoy it…”
Teru scratches behind his own ear, looking away towards the people on the street.
“ Ha... No, I haven’t.”
Something feels shy between them, and he finds himself having a hell of a time continuing to be so genuine, but... it still feels nice to talk.
“What about you?”
“Mm...I've had a lot of hobbies.”
It doesn't require much explanation- of course the upperclassman knows of his efforts to impress his childhood friend. He takes a deeper breath, speaking more in a mumble as embarrassment rises in his chest.
“ ...I do really like doing miniature kits...
I started that because Ao-chan was interested, but I kept it up…”
Teru tilts his head, leaning a bit towards him with interest.
“Miniature kits...? Like.... those tiny house things?”
He mimics tweezers. He gets a big smile suddenly.
“Wow! That’s so cute.”
“Ah- You don't have to call it cute…”
He feels his cheeks redden a bit, and he quickly stuffs a bite of ice cream in his mouth, wincing at the chill.
“... Mmm. I'm working on...a teahouse right now…”
Teru catches on to his blush quickly, bumping him a bit with his shoulder. He isn’t going to let him out of this.
“ A tea house? Do you have any pictures?”
“...”
Akane bites his lip, sitting for a moment with his shoulders hunched forward. It's not like...it's a secret- but it's not something he talks about either. His hand slowly retrieves his phone from his pocket, and in a moment he's holding out a picture of a recently finished greenhouse. It's decorated with an abundance of intricately crafted flowers and gardening tools, and though the picture isn't focused on it, Teru can see the small figure of a certain dark haired girl standing in the midst of it.
“I just...finished this a bit ago. It's still kind of messy- the flowers were hard because there were so many kinds. So don't look too closely.”
Teru spends a long and silent moment inspecting the picture. His hand has reached out to steady the phone and pull it closer to himself, over Akane’s hand.
“...
This is…
Really amazing! You made all of it by hand?”
He points to one of the gardening tools in the picture.
“How big is that?”
Akane stiffens under the touch for a moment- but only a moment as he focuses on his handiwork instead.
“That-? Uh... About a centimeter, give or take. It was the length of my pinky nail.”
Teru’s eyes are wide and interested.
“ Wow! Really? That’s crazy!”
He laughs in delight, but sombers slightly.
“...Akane-san....Didn’t like this?”
“I... haven't shown her this one.”
Akane can't contain himself now, face heating up more and more.
“I showed her the first one I made- It was supposed to be the sakura trees at the spring entrance ceremony…”
He looks a little bummed out, his voice becoming tense and flustered.
“She liked the details but she told me ‘Wow, Akane-kun, it's like you captured me forever here. Kinda creepy~☆’
WHAT ELSE AM I SUPPOSED TO SAY? So now I make little worlds for tiny Ao-chan and I can't show her any of it!!!”
“Ah…”
Teru watches the other spiral, nodding along with brows upturned.
“That’s rough... But I mean, I’m sure there’s lots of other people who would like this sort of thing. I think it’s pretty cool. You should post it online or something.”
He tilts his head with a little encouraging smile. It’s still hard to tell where his mask smiles end and real ones begin, but he sounds pretty honest.
“...You think so?
I've never thought about sharing it…”
Akane looks back up, finally regaining composure. Regrettably, there's still pink to his cheeks.
“...Thanks.”
“Yeah- No problem.”
He looks away, his cone gone now.
“ ...
Anyway- I should get going. I still have a lot of ground to cover.”
He stands from the bench with a sinking in his chest, feeling awkward again.
“Ah, hey- hold on.”
Akane reaches out, grabbing Teru's sleeve. He looks up at him with strain, having spoken before thinking.
“...You... can call me out here like this again. I don't mind.
I-if you buy me food again, I mean.”
Teru stares back at him for a beat, looking surprised. His expression softens again into a smile though.
“Sure thing.”
He steps out of his grasp with a little wave.
“See you tomorrow, Akane.”
“See you-”
Akane waves back, sitting for a while longer to reflect on it all- how involved he should actually be...how involved he WANTS to be.
...Whatever- he still has studying to do anyway.
This was an adapted roleplay between me and @nene-chanblog ^^ Hope you enjoyed! <3

Please enjoy an essay on why mitsukou has so much fucking potential and why they’re great together
by Elena~
Tumblr media
I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a connection like the one that mitsukou shares. This ship literally has true canon potential. I have hope and believe that we may be victorious in mitsukou becoming canon- I mean god dammit guys they are “SEMI CANON”-
kounene obviously won’t be endgame. In Houkago Shounen Hanako Kun (the spin-off series) they played a game in which the person who pulled a king card was able to get to command a person that was playing the game to do something no matter what. When Kou pulled his card- he literally decided he wanted his brother Teru who was there and Nene to have a romantic connection (hence- him saying and I fucking quote, “This will make senpai happy!”) He could’ve done it to his own benefit- to maybe earn a kiss or do something of his own benefit. But he didn’t, instead choosing to make his senpai happy.
Besides Hananene is basically canon already like what the fuck
As for Mitsuba he’s a gay coded character and hasn’t denied the guys aren’t his type. Some people who deem Mitsuba straight might use the scene where he tells Kou “Is this a love confession? Sorry but lame earrings aren’t really my style.” That still does not confirm that Mitsuba doesn’t swing that way. A really great piece of evidence is the bonus comics at the start and end of a manga- one titled, “Tell Me, Mitsuba Kun,” in which Kou asks if he ever had a crush on other girls- Mitsuba responding that there are simply no other girls cuter than him. In another bonus comic he says the same thing again when he tells Yokoo and Satou he wants to fall in love. When asked to name some girls he thinks are cute, he asks if it's possible that he was the cutest one of all. On the other hand, Kou has stated that he likes someone with a pretty smile (do I have to explain that) which is a pretty open explanation of his type (not denying or confirming he doesn’t like guys). Obviously as a Mitsukou shipper I can point out different actions that I’ll admit looks pretty gay.
It’s not the fact that it’s very common in manga like this that there’s the straight couple and then the other two people in the group are automatically paired together- they are so much more than that. They have a deep connection, and both Kou and Mitsuba are somewhat aware of that themselves. Mitsuba is willing to protect Kou from harm- he’s willing to stop him from getting himself hurt for others because Mitsuba cares, and he knows that he’s too reckless and caring and fearless for others in a way that isn’t healthy?
Kou likes to be everything for everyone and the reader can see in chapter 64 that Mitsuba really did try to talk to him about the behavior. Yes it’s weird to see Mitsuba actually show true concern to people--because it’s his character to be a jerk and an asshole, but that doesn’t mean Mitsuba is incapable of not having true genuine feelings for people he seems as his friends.
Obviously, Mitsuba trying to talk to Kou didn’t happen due to other events that occurred. But I think a lot of people agree that the moment would’ve been so beautifully written and truly played an extremely important part in Kou’s character development.
As for Mitsuba, Kou is generally a sweet guy. It’s stated he will give up his life for anyone, it was what he was taught growing up as an exorcist and a fighter. Those words do not fail his actions, and anyone can see Kou will die for literally anything which is really messed up. He’s 14 for fucks sake.
Someone against Mitsukou could use that as an argument but we see here in the manga that there’s simply something different about this said connection. Kou is first introduced to Mitsuba in chapter 30 something, and he remembers who he is after Yokoo tells him--what happened to Mitsuba that was ultimately the end of his life. Mitsuba does again by his rumor being changed, and being stabbed by Hanako- but it’s the fact he cries and loses sleep and just cannot let him go for anything that moves me. May I point out that he actually decided to process the photos even after Mitsubas death? He didn’t have to do that. Not at all. But he did anyways. It’s seen that Kou wants to find a way to help Mitsuba get away from Tsukasa and help him fit in more- he wants to be a friend. (Note: after he’s reintroduced to Mitsuba; this Mitsuba being a pure apparition with no memories.)
Mitsuba is deeply insecure about himself, and feels he doesn’t fit in. He’s lonely, and doesn’t have friends even as a ghost. But Kou is there. He’s there to be by Mitsubas side.
The deep connection the two of them have is strong and that’s especially shown in the picture perfect arc. At the beginning Kou first sees Mitsuba as a human and obviously it’s freaking him out because-he’s a ghost you know. But once him and Nene meet Shijima Mei, and are told they must kill Hanako (Amane) and Mitsuba, it’s disturbing to them. At this point in the series literally everyone know Hanako and Yashiro share a connection as lovers. I mean- its the couple that the series revolves around. But Kou is deeply disturbed because he doesn’t want to kill Mitsuba. Yet- Mei also reassured them that things will be alright since after all this is a fake world and there’s no need for hesitation. But it’s still affecting Kou and he’s carrying this information on his back as he learns beside Mitsuba in school and has fun with him while cleaning the pool. At night, when the two of them are walking on the school building and watching the stars from the window, Kou confronts Mitsuba about this (note: by now Kou knows that Mitsuba knows). Mitsuba goes on to reveal his true form, and uses his powers to show Kou the past. He tells him about how he learns about his past self. And he states to just feel so… “envious”
Mitsuba grows angry with Kou- because he can see how he’s looking at the true Mitsuba with such a gaze the fake Mitsuba knows he won’t ever get.
Things lead to one another and he smashes the window in fury. (“It’s that Mitsuba you want, right?!” And I dare you to tell me that doesn’t sound like a fucking quote from a bittersweet romance novel.)
Kou insists on getting Mitsuba out of there. And can I please just point out that Mitsuba says: “What are you doing?!” He asks Kou if this isn’t what he wanted- if this isnt the life they want to live from here on out where they can be happy together along with their friends. This reminds me of a direct parallel to Hananene, in which Hanako is confused as to why Nene wouldn’t want to stay here, and Nene tells him that this isn’t what she wants. Kou says the same thing to Mitsuba.
Kou drags out embedded feelings Mitsuba has as they fight, and he says quotes that are really important to their development. Things such as:
“But… who else is there?! Who else could grant my wish?! Even you, Minamoto- Kun!”
“You see… even you don’t care about me. It’s that “Mitsuba,” isn’t it?! I don't even MATTER!!”
“I’m Mitsuba’s fake, but let’s just call it real! This is a world where the “Mitsuba” you were unable to save can live happily! That’s good, isn’t it?”
“Even if it’s only in this world, be my friend, and stay by my side… I’m just thinking scary things. Over there, I’ll be jealous.”
I think the Picture Perfect arc really shows how desperate Mitsuba is to have friends- to fit in with everyone else and to just feel like he belongs and matters. Kou tries to tell him that isn’t true... he’s willing to do everything to let him know that he is so much more than what he deems himself as. He’s so much more than a “fake” of what used to be his original friend, there's so much more to do than wish wishes and hope things will just go the way you want things to go. There’s a better way than to look to evil to bend and defy the laws of existing.
There’s the famous quote Kou says- the “How about I die too. So that we can be together forever.” And how he decided right there this this fake Mitsuba- this apparition who very much will never become human- is worthy. He’s worthy of his life; this is more than the whole “I will die for every life” because Mitsuba is dead- he’s immortal as a ghost. But a human like him... in Mitsubas words someone who will never understand something as ugly and as horrifying as a apparition born from a real persons soul and lesser about to disappear spirits- Kou will give his life up just to know the hell he goes through. Even if it’s just a glimpse- even if it’s just for a second Kou will do anything to just fulfill Mitsubas wish for him to stay by his side. He will do anything for Mitsuba.
I think writing this out also makes me realize they both have their walls up. Kou has his walls up to try and hide his true feelings- his deepest fears and insecurities- feeling as if he isn’t good enough. Mitsuba has his walls up to do the same. He portrays himself as a guy that he deems will get him friends. He hides the ugliness in himself- hides the fact he’s a total fake; doesn’t belong anywhere and his deepest insecurities.
But the two of them together help each other in such a way that it’s unable to truly analyze every single moment they share together.
They help each other but teach the other to bring their walls down. That it’s okay to talk about your feelings and that you don’t have to be everything for everyone. That you don’t have to give up everything you have living- your health and your literal life- for someone. That it’s okay to feel like you don’t fit in. It’s okay to feel like there’s just no other choice of getting what you want and therefore doing the wrong things. That people will love you just for you; what happened in the past put aside.
Mitsuba and Kou are in love.
The end. 💖

I also bolded some of my favorite thoughts for maybe easier reading
(Also crazy spoilers about literally everything watch out)
Gonna put it all under a cut bc its long but please read 🥺 i talk about like straight up everything and everyone (tsukasa, Sakura, natsuhiko, amane, tsukasa, nene, kou, mitsuba + what is going on with them)
Tsukasa, Sakura, natsuhiko:
Okay so like why did tsukasa only recently appear after supposedly being dead for like 50 years cause like hanakos been around yknow ? Does it have something to do with the seal? Cause like tsukasa is clearly very clingy to hanako so you’d think he’d stick by him as soon as they died but they apparently hadn’t seen each other in a long time. and how did Sakura get into like a contract or whatever with him ? and why can natsuhiko see and interact with supernaturals ? Natsuhiko is so weird what is his deal. why in the world does he know how to turn into a supernatural ???
GASP i just had a thought so like tsukasa says he only grants wishes for the dead so like how would Sakura get into some kind of deal with him if she’s alive? She could be dead but idk it kinda does and kinda doesn’t work.
Hanako, tsukasa, seals:
And as for hanako and tsukasa like when did they get those seals and why ??? And like during the part where kou asks yako about rumors being changed hanako at the end like touches the seal on his cheek and ?????? What does that MEAN ??? Did he have to get sealed because his rumor was changed ? Like what was that about ??? Also why in the world are hanako and tsukasa so powerful? They are so strong and its crazy. Also I REALLY wanna know what hanakos boundary and yorishiro are and what purpose his boundary serves.
Tsukasa, plans, rumors:
Also why is tsukasa changing the rumors ? Is he trying to like kill the 7 wonders or what ? Or remove them from power cause like yknow breaking their yorishiros removes their control over the boundary and like he did straight up kill number 3 to put mitsuba in control so does he want to do that with all of them? He also keeps messing with nene and like why.... i just wanna know his plan...
Also how come they haven’t like put anyone else in charge of the boundaries after their yorishiros got broke? Also also why is hanako the leader despite being like the youngest like what did he do ??? He is also pretty bent on breaking the yorishiros too like couldn’t they just change the rumors instead of breaking the yorishiros? Like they did with the mokke? I think hanako has some other agenda too.
Amane:
Also thinking about if tsuchigomori knew about tsukasa ... like when amane was alive yknow like where was tsukasa ? Did he go to school? Was he in a different class or what ?? Also did amane immediately kill himself after he killed tsukasa or did he like go on for a bit afterwards ?
I’ve also had a little theory about the whole “I’m not going anywhere” scene, so like amane gives his lunar rock, that he has had and treasured since he was 4, to tsuchigomori and that seems a little odd to me, but its seems especially like su*cidal behavior yknow? If someone’s got a plan to, yknow, die, then they sometimes start acting different and start giving away things that are important to them. I’ve also seen recent theories about how maybe tsukasa got them involved with something supernatural while they were alive so maybe amane was like planning to die or something... and I’m also still super intrigued that amane was the only human to defy what was written in their book, and it makes me wonder about what was written in tsukasas book, like was he supposed to die? Was it written in amane’s book that he killed tsukasa or was that different too?
The severance:
Also thinking about the whole lead up to the severance and like how that went down—like number 6 shows up and kidnaps Aoi of all people and like sacrifices her and stuff and it all makes me wonder if hanako planned it? Like he clearly thinks the severance is a good thing and that aoi being sacrificed extended nene’s lifespan so like did he plan it? Did he ask number 6 to do a sacrifice cause like they haven’t done that in YEARS like why would they suddenly do it again? Number 6’s rumor hadn’t been changed or anything so there was no reason to do that (unless i missed something).
Red house, mitsuba:
And then there’s the freaking RED HOUSE like my goodness like what does it have to do with mitsuba??? Why did he have a picture of it? Why was the picture black until nene found it? Like the house is cursed and it seems like the picture might be too, since nene and kou mysteriously showed up at the house. There’s of course all the theories that its probably the yugi family and that it might be connected to Nowhere now so that’s fun but I still really wanna know what this has to do with Mitsuba
OH i also just remembered yknow like at the beginning of the hell of mirrors arc mitsuba is like different mitsuba and doesn’t remember anything but at one point nene mentions hanako and he like reacts like “hanako?” Like he knows the name but like stuff keeps happening so that’s quickly forgotten BUT like what does that MEAN !! Why does he know hanako !!! When he’s not supposed to remember like anything !!!! Zdfghgjhfdhfj
Oh also also what in the world happened to mitsubas arm and why does he keep it hidden?? It clearly still works cause like he grips things but he still keeps it hidden so ??? Also like his eye too idk if something happened to it or if its stylistic but its only shown vaguely like once or twice, and in scenes where he’s alive it’s much more visible so ?
Nene:
I also think nene is totally gonna die or at least turn into a supernatural somehow because like so much official art and stuff really points to it. With like pictures of the four (nene, hanako, kou, mitsuba), nene is always tied in with hanako and mitsuba while kou is shown separately or with different motifs. The ones that really come to mind is the one where nene, hanako, and mitsuba and tied together with a rope, it being tied around mitsubas neck, hanakos chest, and nenes leg, while kou is positioned away from them. With the recent chapter with that dolls leg coming off and like the references to dolls n stuff like i think something crazy is gonna happen to her leg at least. The other one that comes to mind is the one with the four pictures of their middle school entrance ceremonies, where hanakos, mitsubas, and nenes families faces are scribbled out, while kous is fine. At first you think it’s because teru and tiara are like actual characters, but in amane’s and tsukasa’s, one of their faces is scribbled out too so its not about whether or not we know the character. So like nene is continuously shown with the same symbolism as the supernaturals soooo....
Kou:
Also thinking about how kou was WAY to ready to die for mitsuba like he’s 14 !!! And do y’all realize he ACTUALLY for REAL fell off the building right then and there, not expecting mitsuba to save them ! He was fully ready to die at the drop of a hat and as much as it shows how much he cares about mitsuba like that is not healthy babey. Like think about yourself for once kou, stop hurting yourself to help others !!! People care you !!! (I’m people)
Misc:
And then i still have thoughts about the minamoto family but mostly i just wanna know more about their family and history like where are their parents ? Also that reveal that teru like protects the whole town was like crazy.
Oh also gotta wonder like why so many of the ghosts are attached to the school ?? Like i dont think any of them actually died at the school so why do they haunt the school? Shijima died at a hospital, mitsuba died like in the town supposedly, and we dont know about the yugis but idk how they would have a knife at the school unless they were doing some kind of after hours ritual. Also no adult ghosts.... all the adults are pure supernaturals.... hm.
Anyways that’s all i can think of right now and its a lot :) I’m so sorry

Isn’t Teru so pretty?? uwu
I’m sorry this is so damn long-
Didn’t Know You Were an Exorcist
Teru Minamoto x Reader
Kagami~Sama, that is who you were. A kind-hearted supernatural whose boundary was a mirror, reflecting peoples bad emotions to good if they wanted you to do so. Known by all humans, supernaturals? Not so much. All of a sudden all those wonderful titles withered and became horrid and detested titles, calling you the ‘evil one’ who harms anyone who gets in your way. These titles came upon you becasue of one powerful exorcist family. The Minamoto family.
They hated your guts and didn’t like the way you were being kind to most of the humans and supernaturals, one of them being Hanako~Kun. They believed you were tricking them with your kindess and beauty, even though you weren’t. Having your name tainted and reputation crushed you turned corrupted, leaving you to your (new) shattered mirror. Your safe boundary, your haven. Cold and alone, with no one by your side.
You stayed like this for a few years. Feeling empty and scared that if you leave your mirror, they will come to find you again. After having plenty of break downs and crying for an eternity you finally decided to leave your ‘safe bound’ and live with the people who you once had cherished the most. Humans.
Quickly, you fled from your cottage (that is now in ruins) and went to dwell where the humans lingered, trying to recall what memories you have left of them. Whilst running through the woods you spotted a glint of light coming your way.
Perfect.
With no hesitation, you got onto the roof of the vehicle ( a car ) trying to make yourself as light as possible so you wouldn’t have disrupted the humans driving.
The vehicle stopped which was your sign to jump off and explore. You hadn’t been outside your boundry for ages! The boundry being the mirror. The fresh air that you breathed in felt amazing but it was no time to go on a dander. You had to figure out what has changed since the past century. Having not aged you were still as beautiful as you were before the whole incident still looking young and fresh. People kept on looking at you while you were walking through the streets. This was gonna be hard to get used to and oh boy was it hard.
~Time Skip to when Teru enrolled into Kamome Gakuen~
“I'm finally here! After trying to find out what a computer was and how to use it I ended up enrolling to...” You looked weirdly at the piece of paper in your hands, trying to pronounce the school name properly
”K-kamum? Kamone? Ah! Kamome Gakuen, ” You finally said.
Trying to figure out where your class was you ended up bumping into someone.
”Do I hold the map this way? Or-”
”Ah!”
You fell on something, actually someone.
You opened your eyes to see who you accidentally tumbled into, only to be met with the most perfect blue diamond eyes you've ever seen. You didn't realise you were staring a bit too much. The stranger had to wave his hand near your face to regain your consciousness.
”Are you okay? I'm sorry I didn't mean to bump into you, ” He apologised, looking at you worryingly.
”Ah- no it's totally okay! I should be the one apologising excuse me for not being polite.”
He was first to stand up and lended me a hand. I gratefully took it while smiling at him. I dusted my skirt off and decided to introduce myself.
“Well, I’m [L/N] [F/N] and I hope we can become great friends!” You looked at him as if asking for his name.
”Oh uhm, Chikara Teru.” He replied. He looked uneasy.
We made eye contact again and then I got lost in his deep blue eyes, with him ending up waving his hand near my face (again). I just couldn't help it. His eyes are way to pretty for the world.
We made our way into the school building and we both ended up in the same class. Pretty convenient if I do say so myself. There's just this tingle in my heart telling me it's wrong to befriend a human being since it would be weird to tell him that I'm actually a supernatural who's literally over one hundred years old but just ignored it.
~Time Skip, 2 years~
( sorry for so many time skips ._. )
It's been two years since I enrolled in Kakome Guaken and Teru~Kun and I have become great friends but his popularity skyrocketed, leaving me in the shadows. I felt fine so I didn't complain to Teru about it. Whenever one of his ’fangirls’ would want to talk to him they always come to me first to ask for advice and I always respond with, ”Just be yourself! It doesn't matter what Teru thinks of you.” To be honest, it does hurt when they confess to them, only for Teru to reject them. I've always imagined myself as one of his fangirls confessing. I know he'll turn me down anyway so what the bother?
It's also been really hard not telling Teru that I'm a supernatural and I know he hates supernatural with all his might since he went on a rant about it. During that conversation, I stayed quiet while pangs in my heart erupted and I had to excuse myself to the toilet and cried my heart out. At that moment I realised that I actually had fallen for a human. No, no, no! I can't, it's not okay to. I'll have to keep these feelings to myself, even if they hurt me. At that moment, I heard someone come in.
”Hanako~san, Hanako~san, ” A soft voice said.
Is she talking about Hanako~Kun?
I swung the toilet door open and saw Hanako~Kun with a girl who had...radish legs? Huh. Hanako looked very troubled and wondered who I was but the realisation came to his face as he smiled widely at me.
”Kagami~Sama!” He cheerfully said.
That name still haunted me. My face went dark. Hanako was confused.
”Hanako~Kun, please don't call me that anymore. Just call me [Y/N].”
”Huh but why Kagami~Sama? I haven't seen you in years.” He said astonished.
”You haven't changed one bit!” He added.
At this point, I got quite annoyed.
”Just call me [Y/N] instead Hanako~Kun. Please I'm begging you!” I pleaded.
Hanako shrugged his shoulders. ”Whatever you say.”
---------
It's been two whole days since that happened. Hanako~Kun kept on following this girl callee Yashiro or whatever. Teru and I are doing okay, I still make so much effort to talk to him but only to be responded with a ”Sorry [Y/N]~Chan but I'm busy, ” or a ”Can’t talk right now sorry.” It really hurt and I didn't know what to do about it. So I decided to gather all my courage and confront him about it. That was a bad idea.
After searching for Teru you finally found him but not alone. Hanako was with him and it seemed as if they’re fighting.
“This is not gonna be good,” I told myself .
I quickly sprinted to the school roof to stop them. I slammed the door open to find Teru trying to destroy Hanako.
“TERU STOP!” I screamed. They all turned to look at me. I ran towards Hanako and tried to restrain him from fighting Teru with my normal form but it wasn’t helping. I looked at Teru for help only to see him holding a staff used for exorcism. I looked at Teru shockingly.
“Do you see now Kagami~Sama?” Hanako said.
“He’s an exorcist, he’s not fit being with you.”
My heart shattered and I felt tears erupt from my eyes.
“Hanako~Kun please leave,” I say sternly.
“Be careful~” With that he left.
It was silent. The wind blowing my hair and skirt.
“So, when were you gonna tell me your a supernatural?” Teru asked.
“Today.” I responded with hurt in my voice.
“Teru I’m sorry I didn’t tell you, I-I thought you woul-“
He cut me off.
“I knew.”
“....Excuse me?” I say shocked.
“What do you mean I knew?” I asked.
“I knew that you were a supernatural ever since we met,” He said calmly.
My eyes widen and the streams of tears finally came flooding. Rage started to burst through me.
”What do you mean I KNEW?!” This was it for me.
”[Y/N]~Chan I-” he tried to speak but I wouldn't let him.
”So you're telling me that I've been crying and keeping to myself for nO REASON!?” I screamed.
”Do you know how many times I felt like leaving this school so that I wouldn't feel miserable or unhappy? I stayed though because of you Teru, I stayed because I didn't want to leave you.” I cried.
I stayed quiet after I said that as if someone had stitched my mouth closed.
”[Y/N]~Chan, I didn't want to tell you I knew because I thought it would've ruined our friendship. You were the first friend that I made which really boosted my confidence. I'm sorry if you felt lonely and miserable it's probably my fault.” Teru explained.
I looked up to him, his eyes shaking. I knew that he was gonna say something that I didn't know but I didn't know that it was going to be bad.
”Actually [Y/N]~Chan, I have something to say to you,” he meaningfully said.
I didn't say anything. Just gave him a little nod.
”My name isn't Chakara Teru...” He said
I was intrigued at what he had said, confused even.
”I'm actually Minamoto Teru.” He breathlessly explained.
”...........”
”[Y/N]~Chan?” Teru asked worryingly.
Minamoto.
Minamoto.
That was the family of exorcists that ruined me, who breaked me apart and Teru is part of that family. My eyes widened. I befriended my enemy. I felt suffocated, the one person I had to fall for was my enemy.
I chuckled to myself.
“Of course., I’m so stupid to believe I couldn’t finally be happy,” I sadly said with a small smile.
I looked behind me.
“[Y/N] what are you doing?” Teru asked concerned.
I took a step back.
Teru realised what I was trying to do.
“[Y/N] don’t you dare take another step back!”
One...
“LISTEN TO ME!”
Two....
“YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO THIS!”
Three...
I smiled at Teru, and gave a small wave.
“Thank you for everything Teru,” I calmly said.
Teru began running towards me at lightning speed, reaching his hand out to grap me.
“Bye.”
I took a step back and felt the air engulf me.
“This is it,” I told myself.
“I took my own life for a human,” I chuckled to myself.
“How pathetic.”
Until...
I felt a warm hand grab my arm. I looked up with tears streaming down my face like a waterfall. I again saw those diamond eyes.
“I love you, [Y/N]~Chan!’ Teru screamed. Bricks of tears at the corner of his eyes.
“Please don’t ever leave me.”
He pulled me up, hugged me tightly and I started sobbing against his shoulder while hitting him lightly.
He stared at me then got up. Put his hand out to help me up. This was a familiar scene. I gratefully took it smiling at him.
“I’m [L/N] [F/N], a supernatural who’s name is Kagami~Sama,” I explained, smiling at him.
“And I’m Minamoto Teru, an exorcist.”
We both started laughing.
We looked at each other and leaned in.
My cheeks were hot and I felt butterflies. We were almost there when-
“Oooh, Nii~Chan I didn’t know you had a girlfriend?”
We both quickly whipped our heads to where the voice came from only too see Teru’s little bother and my kouhai.
~End-
I’m so sorry that this took a long time and it didn’t turn out good .-. I’m still proud tho lolol
There’s probs a lot of spelling mistakes that I haven’t seen •3•✌🏽

Toilet-bound Hanako-kun Chapter 20: Mitsuba (Part 3)
Previously: the feels came and hit me like a train. Mitsuba’s story was heartbreaking and I wanted nothing more than give him all the nice things he deserves and never got to experience ;; We also had another chapter of Kou being a Very Good Boy ™ and their friendship made me smile so much…...well, until he arrived…...and that happened…….and the angst also hit me like a train. Oh yeah, we also had some great exposition regarding plot-related stuff which made me ask a lot of question (but that’s not new with me lol). Hanako is coming to the scene right now and I’m :)) scared :))))
Now onto the next chapter!
Guess who’s really late again??? I really have no excuse other than me having a really bad attention span (also A3! has taken over my life pls send help)
Anyway!
Tumblr media
Oh wow, this cover page has A Lot to disect.. The main thing my eyes were drawn to is Hanako’s expression and the fact that he’s holding the bloodied knife. He looks shocked and sad, and he’s gonna go face his brother (that he killed) and I’m terrified ahhhhh Another thing! The ropes that are tying them together: now, from what I see, the ropes are tying all of them up except for Kou; like, the main connection I always associate with Yashiro and Hanako is their bond, but then the connection between Hanako and Mitsuba is that they’re both dead. It looks like all the ropes are interconnected though and I...I don’t like the implications that my brain is coming up with right now………...Yashiro baby please be safe, okay? Like, it could also mean that Mitsuba is gonna form some sort of bond with Hanako, but let’s be real, what would bring the biggest amount of angst? Exactly. From what I’ve seen so far, the covers have elements that are relevant to the plot and I feel like there’s a lot of things here that could be concerning :))))
Ahhhh okay let’s keep going
So we’re back with Not-Hanako and Kou after Sakura changed Mitsuba’s rumor and turned him into THAT. And you guys remember how I mentioned that it unsettles me when Hanako smiles creepily and his eyes turn dark? Well
Tumblr media
I’m incredibly unsettled right now.
Okay so Mitsuba’s wish was too vague for Not-Hanako to turn him into something more than a “half-done supernatural”. He didn’t know what he wanted to do but he knew that he wanted people to remember him. But thanks to Kou, now he knows his actual wish: friends. Mitsuba just wants to stay with his friends and oh, can you hear that???? that’s the sound of my heart breaking (again).
Kou is understadably pissed but Not-Hanako is ignoring him, and he mentions that the more people Mitsuba gets to remember him, the longer he will be able to stay there. And yeah, it checks out with what we know about supernaturals since Tsuchigomori mentioned that it’s easier for him since he can spread his own rumors.
Tumblr media
Oh………...oh no………...Mitsuba baby no pls  (;;⚆_⚆)
Tumblr media
Yeah, this ties to what he said before about “if that’s enought to break the world then it’s better off broken”. It seems like he just wants everyone to let go of their morals and see where that lead them. Also “the price of this wish is your mind”, does he mean like, his conciousness? his ability to discern right from wrong? Because if he can strip him from that with just his touch (and the rumors) then that’s horrible. Well, I guess that’s what happened with Yako and the Mokke, right? They started killing/stealing/kidnapping people after their rumors changed.
Tumblr media
(゚д゚;)  Σ(゚Д゚|||) OMFG THAT’S TERRIFYING MAKE IT STOP
oh no, oh no, he’s grabbing Kou and it seems like he’s choking him oh no Mitsuba baby please, I know you’re still there, come on, the power of friendship ™ can bring you back pls
Aw, Kou, sweetie, you weren’t wrong. You gave Mitsuba a good memory and the friend he had always wanted, it’s not your fault that this little shit fucked everything up.
Ahhhhh Hanako is finally here! Oh geez, he cut Mitsuba clean in half ;; But like, he should be fine, right? He also stabbed Yako and she was okay. So Mitsuba should return to his previous form…….right? Please? (;;⚆.⚆)
I really need Not-Hanako to stop being cute, I’m trying to be mad and he unsettles me
Tumblr media
!!!!! We finally have a name!!!! I can’t stop calling him Not-Hanako, bless
Awww baby, Hanako is shaking so much :cccc This looks like it’s so hard for him, oh dear
“Back when you killed me” ………………………...ok so that makes it sound like he pushed Hanako to do it, at least in some way………….those wounds and bruises and…..rope marks…….little Amane had when he was alive really aren’t looking good under this lense, I don’t li k e t h i s
Tumblr media
(゚д゚;) (゚д゚;) (゚д゚;) fucking hell, that’s just. yikes. Like, Amane seemed like such a sweet kid, you really have to wonder what was it that made him finally snap, especially in such a way
Tumblr media
It really looks like he’s just teasing him even though Amane clearly finds the whole event (and even his brother’s mere presence) traumatizing. It’s weird, Tsukasa seems like he’s doing all this on purpose but he also doesn’t realize that it doesn’t make his brother happy. It has the complete opposite effect, in fact. Even the way he’s standing on his tiptoes, it can just be a cute habit but it also makes him tower slightly over Amane.
Sigh okay, he’s gone, thank you. But!!! Kou is calling out to Mitsuba!! Is he okay??
Tumblr media
…………………….oh no. His face says it all, he can’t, he wants to but he can’t
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(TдT)(TдT)(TдT) this is so fucking sad. This poor child just wanted a happy (after)life with his friends and he tried, he tried so hard, but every time his chances was snuffed out.
Tumblr media
“...we have have no future”
Hmmm…...the way that he’s wording this and what he said during the young exorcist arc gives me the idea that he actually doesn’t like being a supernatural, he thinks there’s really no point to existing after death since he doesn’t grow old nor he can pursue his old dreams. But he HAS to do it; he hates it, but he has a mission so that he can repent for his sins, and his sense of obligation is strong enough that he pleaded for his “life” to Teru, knowing that, in his own eyes, he shouldn’t be here in the first place, And he really did thought that Kou could help Mitsuba in a kinder way so that the ghost would be able to pass on happy but it backfired spectacularly. Living on after you die seems like a truly heart-rending existence.
And there’s only the camera left behind…...No, this-this is fine, I’m fine, this is……. (ಥ﹏ಥ)
Oh dear, and now Kou is blaming himself for not being stronger, strong like his brother, strong enough to save Mitsuba. I should have seen it coming, considering we know very well how Kou views his brother as a kind of ideal and, in turn, views himself as not good enough, but it still hurts. And I know it’s because he’s grieving, but he really shouldn’t do this to himself right now.
“I’m pretty sure destruction is the only salvation for the dead.” At first I thought this was a contradiction to what he had said before (about himself) but it really isn’t. He thinks it’s best when the dead are able to disappear from this world, but he doesn’t want salvation for himself, he wants an opportunity to atone. And I wonder if because of that, he sees himself as someone who’s past salvation.
I’m glad that Kou immediately cuts him off and says that’s ridiculous. Because even if Kou is saying it for Mitsuba, I’m pretty sure Hanako also needed to hear that.
Also, it looks like this is the beginning of a very strong grudge against Tsukasa on Kou’s part and I get it but also I’m :))) scared :)))
Tumblr media
I mean, I think he’s got a point there. Yeah, the world has rules that the average people can’t change but he has a power not many others (?) have, so him being able to change things in regards to supernaturals doesn’t seem out of the question.
AHHHHHHHHHHH HE FOUND HIS PICTURE
Tumblr media
(ಥ﹏ಥ) (ಥ﹏ಥ) (ಥ﹏ಥ)   take a shot every time I wanted to cry during this chapter
Oh!!! we’re at sea with the mermaid and her people! Mr pufferfish died but the other fish survived so he reported back to her.
Tumblr media
Oh. So she really did have good intentions by trying to kidnap Yashiro. Not the best method, but her heart was in the right place. BUT ALSO!!! I’m now even more worried about my girl :)))))))) please don’t let anything happen to her ;;
Tumblr media
PFFFFFFFFFFFFT why is this me with A3! omfg Yashiro sweetie we could totally bond over mobile games
Yashiro was summoned by an upperclassman?? Who-oh, wait
Tumblr media
Of course, of-fucking-course, hi Natsuhiko, please don’t endanger my daughter, she’s done nothing wrong.
And that was the end of the chapter. It felt shorter than usual but also incredibly long because it was emotionally taxing ;; that was such a rollercoaster, oh dear
Ohhhhh there’s extras this time around!!
Awwwwwww the ten-times game panels are so precious ;u; especially the parallel between Kou-Teru and Kou-Hanako. The character sheets with the little bits of info are pretty cute as well!
Judging by the preview of the next volume, it seems like Yashiro is gonna have a tea party with the chaotic trio (Sakura doesn’t seem chaotic so far but the other two do so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  sorry not sorry). If they hurt my child istg….
Awwwwwwwwww the middle school entrance pictures are so cute! (Amane’s and Tsukasa’s not so much in context but…...yeah)

Season 1: Episode 1-7
I'm new and I haven't talked to anyone about Mob Psycho 100 yet, so hop on and join me in my suffering journey in watching Mob Psycho 100. Here are my genuine reactions throughout the episodes 1-7 of season 1.
To be honest, the first time I saw this is on Tumblr and my first reaction to it was "it's a bunch of Saitamas"
Tumblr media
jesus don't ask the boy such an existential question that even I didn't know how to answer until just recently
Tumblr media
Dude, he's in middle school.
Great, you caused him his first existential crisis.
Tumblr media
Why do I relate to this on a spiritual level
Reigen: Well, every middle school boy wants to be popular so there's no need to be embarrassed. Even I want to be popular.  Me: Did you just call yourself a middle school boy
I like both Mob and Reigen’s voices.
Mob: My dad said, "People who've never smoked before are missing out on half their lives." It made me realize that everyone has a different idea of "missing out".  Me: Oh my god, little Mob. I applaud you.
Tumblr media
And I love hi- I mean, that is fucking random.
Tumblr media
Is that the same little Mob I've grown to love in merely 2 episodes? 😮
Mob, you can't just suddenly have red eyes when you feel rage. That's not fair.
Tumblr media
HONEY NO DON'T THINK THAT THAT'S NOT TRUE
Tumblr media
REIGEN YOU BASTARD, thank you for reassuring our little Mob and returning him to normal 💓
Tumblr media
Nevermind! :D
I wanna continue watching AAAAAA
Tumblr media
Aha, sorry but my dear Mob is the main character.
Oh my god, I love Mob.
Tumblr media
It's gotta suck to have a middle school boy in his pjs say this to you.
Reigen: *enters the scene* Me: Ah, there's that piece of trash.
Tumblr media
I HATE HIM HAHAHAHA
Tumblr media
Can I join your religion? I'm looking for the same god.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nevermind, I found him.
Tumblr media
How the fuck is Mob the older brother.
Tumblr media
I WOULD BE SO HAPPY FOR HIM IF THIS WASN'T A TRAP
Tumblr media
NEVERMIND I'M ALREADY HAPPY FOR HIM IF HE'S HAPPY I'M HAPPY
Tumblr media
HE DESERVES THE WORLD AND NOTHING LESS  Although, we all know you're going because you're actually hoping that there IS a girl.
Tumblr media
Hell yeah, little Mob. Show 'em what you've got.
It feels like I haven't seen Reigen in a while. Come out and do your job as a character, you lazy bum.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There he is, the bastard.
Tumblr media
I KNOW RIGHT?! I agree with green Pikachu blob.
Tumblr media
What are you, a not-as-cool Bakugou?
Tumblr media
How are you that attached to him already Well, he does in fact have no friends so I guess that isn't as hard to believe.
Tumblr media
Stop trying to hurt my child or I will end you.
Tumblr media
jesus christ he's ugly
Tumblr media
I love Mob's subtle reaction to everything that's happening HAHAHA
Tumblr media
GAAAAAAAAAAAAASP YOU FUCKER YOU MADE HIM SAY OW H O W  D A R E  Y O U
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is my overprotective mother persona.
Tumblr media
KNIVES ARE DANGEROUS 😭💕
Tumblr media
pfffffffffftttt I love how I've only posted his ugly faces when he's supposed to be the "pretty" boy.
Oh my god I'm actually cackling out loud.
Tumblr media
"Nice to meet you," he says to the guy who kept attempting to beat him up just now.  Bless this child.
Tumblr media
AHAHAHAHA BURN BABY BURN 🔥
Tumblr media
Alright, man. Joke's over. Let him go.
Tumblr media
I didn't include the highlight of the episode (other than the highlight on Teru's bald head), but I have the same reaction of what the shit just happened, little Mob.
Tumblr media
THIS IS ME IN THIS EPISODE NOW
Tumblr media
IMSOBBINGLSKJASKDJDFKDGN
Tumblr media
THIS IS SO CUTE HE LITERALLY DOES NOT SHOW EMOTIONS AND YET HIS BROTHER HIS LITTLE DAMN BROTHER KNOWS HIM SO WELL
I want to hug little Mob T^T
Mob: *sneezes* Narrator: He caught a cold. Me: NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
I wanted to say that once again, Reigen was useless in this episode but... yeah, he was the one who told Mob not to use his powers against other people. You get an inch of respect from me, Reigen. Congrats.
One last episode before bed.
Whoever directs the voice actors; a fucking terrific job, man.
Tumblr media
Reigen being useless as fuck again.
Tumblr media
I applaud you, Reigen. But I don't know if working as a con artist is any better.
"If it's self-defense, is it okay to shave off someone's hair, rip off their clothes, destroy their pride, make them lose their friends, and destroy the school they go to?" Oh, Mob. ❤️
Tumblr media
I'm sorry, lady. As Mob's mother, I do not approve of you.
Tumblr media
That's adorable, but why did he easily get startled? I thought he was supposed to be the emotion-suppressing kid.
Tumblr media
Bless these good souls for looking after little Mob.
I didn't actually think the story would be this good.
OH, I know who Reigen reminds me of! Another lazy bum! Sakata Gintoki. 😊
tbh, I don't know if I can call Reigen "lazy". He's a con artist yeah, but he works just about all the time.
Can you believe that I'm only in the 6th episode? And yet I'm already this invested in the characters.
I just wanna be honest with what I think about Reigen's character... I have this love-hate relationship with him.  But people will see more of the hate side because (honestly there are more reasons to hate him and) every time I admit that I like the guy, such as now, I would feel as if I lost to that fucker.  Somehow I have created this competitive relationship between me and the character.
I like the opening, it suits the anime.
Tumblr media
Mob showing any kind of emotion is the best thing ever.  Except when he's sad. The world might as well drown if he's sad.
Tumblr media
They don't have to show me who's the fucker that's calling Mob at the most inconvenient time.
Tumblr media
I will destroy these people scaring little Mob.
Reigen: *does what he does best* Me: Reigen... is so... fucking stupid... goddamnit...
Tumblr media
Reigen, Mob said con artists are really terrible people. 🙃
Tumblr media
Ritsu, no :(
Tumblr media
Ignoring the obvious lack of hair under that bush, his character is actually pretty cute when tamed.
Tumblr media
HOHOHOLY SHIT HAHA u ded now, Ritsu dear little bro.
Words cannot explain how happy I am with this encounter. Ritsu, as Mob's little bro, fix yourself before I'd want to burn you alive with that new attitude of yours.
I know he cares a lot about Mob, so I would be very disappointed in him if he laid a finger on him. Not because I'm worried about Mob getting hurt, Ritsu's got a long way to go. I'm just worried about their relationship as brothers.
But I'm proud of the once ugly Teru though haha! Good going, man.

Gruvia Week, Day 3
Give it up for Day 3! Wow, I’m surprising even myself with the motivation I’ve gotten to write!
This one is posted off my laptop. It doesn’t fit the prompt exactly, but I couldn’t think of anything else and it works well enough. My submission today is a piece of a longer fanfiction that I’ve been working on, and debating if I actually want to do the entire thing - so today’s also kind of a test run for me? It’s also way longer than my Day 1 and Day 2 posts lol
As always, please consider checking out my first Gruvia fanfiction on AO3, Four Degrees!
"Would you stop moping around, ice princess? You're gonna give us all a damn cold!"   "Natsu, don't be mean! That's totally unnecessary!"   "I'll do whatever I want, especially if he isn't going to fight back! Hehe."   "Salamander, you know I don't like the iceman as much as I don't like you, but even I'm starting to get pissed off for him."   "Gajeel, please don't make this worse."   "If you want to go, I'm ready to go!"   "I'm always ready to go, you pink-haired loser!"   "Call me that again to my face, metal freak!"   "I just did!"   Gray glanced up just in time to watch the two of them, mid-brawl, escape out the front doors of the guild.   Across the table from him, Levy let out a sigh. "I'll go make sure they don't destroy anything. Be back in a second, Lu."   Lucy nodded, turning back from her friend to face him. Mentally, Gray braced himself. He knew Lucy at the very least was concerned, but he didn't exactly like to have all his feelings out in the open for others to scrutinize.   "She'll be back, Gray."   He looked up to Lucy's eyes, her smile and her gaze twinkling with hope. He wasn't sure what he had been expecting her to say, but that wasn't it. And honestly, it still hurt. Anything that anyone said about Juvia would hurt, unless they were telling him where he could find her.   "Why did she only tell Gramps where she was going?" He croaked. "Why wouldn't she let me come with her?"   Lucy pursed her lips. "Juvia is strong, Gray. She can handle herself. You might want to protect her, but you picked a girl who knows how to be independent. She wants to figure out what happened to her family on her own. You have to respect that."   "What if she finds out something terrible happened to them? Or that they abandoned her? Wouldn't she want me- or at least someone else to be there to comfort her?"   He wasn't telling Lucy the whole truth. Gray had a bad feeling. He couldn't give a reason or proof, but he felt that Juvia was being tricked. By who, or why, he didn't have a clue. But it had him on edge, and that was why he was trying to get Master Makarov to tell him where Juvia had gone.   "I can't tell you that I understand exactly what she's thinking," Lucy sighed. She glanced up when she heard Natsu and Gajeel yelling from outside the guild hall. She got to her feet. "I'm gonna go help Levy. But have faith in Juvia, Gray. She'll be home soon enough."   As Lucy walked away to deal with the two dragon slayers, his thoughts drifted dark again. Juvia was a powerful wizard. She could have enemies from her Phantom Lord days. He had a lot of enemies. Fairy Tail had a lot of enemies. There were so many reasons that someone might want to hurt her. But to convince her through a letter that they had information about her parents? It either had to be real, or someone very sophisticated in their plan to catch her.
Juvia stared out the window of the train as it left the station of a small mountain town. Though deep within her heart she was rather lonely on this journey thus far, there was certainly something to be said about riding the train in peace and quiet, without the usual dragon slayer dry heaving on the floor of the car. She usually took jobs that included Gajeel, and occasionally she would join Team Natsu, so she was used to dealing with their motion sickness. But being by herself gave her lots of time to think. To reflect on her life in Fairy Tail as the train rattled along to its final destination, and Juvia's home.   She had not been to Foxglove in over ten years, having only her earliest memories to remind her of her childhood in the orphanage before her mother's estranged brother discovered his niece was still alive and taken her in. This life of hers before she had joined Phantom Lord was not filled with happy memories. It was in the orphanage that she became alienated from the other children because her rain curse began. That was also where her habit of creating teru-teru bozu dolls came from, the nuns who ran the orphanage having taught her how to make them to drive the rain away. Her uncle had been a mean and nasty man who hated the rain and treated Juvia like dirt. He didn't know anything about her parents, either, never informed of how they died and never mentioning a thing about them; she only knew her mother's name. Juvia ran away from him when she was sixteen. Not long after that would she come across Phantom Lord, and Jose, seeing the vast magical potential in the fledgling water mage, offered her a position within his guild.   Juvia sighed. It wasn't as if her life in Phantom Lord was as bad as her life before it, but it certainly wasn't happy compared to how she felt now. Phantom Lord was a cold and lonely guild, with relationships built on strength and the guild itself fixated on remaining the most powerful in Fiore. Still, she had made friends there, including Gajeel, so she couldn't say she was never happy; but it was clear to her that Jose was only interested in her for her power. Behind Aria, she had been the second strongest member of the Element Four.   Her life had changed so much, starting the moment the rain parted and she saw the sun for the first time since she was a little girl. Of course, thinking of that event in time only brought her thoughts to the one who had driven the clouds away; her beloved Gray. Relationship being considered or not, it was hard to argue that anyone else had a more significant impact on her as a person than him. She counted her blessings every day that he was in her life, as she had seen what losing him felt like once and Juvia never wanted to feel that pain ever again. Despite Gray forcing her to promise to never do something like what she did during his fight with Invel again, there was not a bone in her body that wouldn't make that sacrifice if he was in danger and it was their only option. She truly had resolved to heed her own words and live for love however, to live for him, as he had done the same for her. Oh how she missed him.   There were not many trains that made the journey up the mountain to rainy, secluded Foxglove, and she was grateful that this one did. Juvia leaned against the window in an attempt to get the imaginary Gray sitting in the seat across from her out of her mind, and mentally re-read the letter she had received. We have some records here in your name that have never been unsealed. If you would like, you should come to Foxglove and collect them.  We would love to see your sweet face one last time, and the beautiful woman you've grown into!   The instant Juvia had opened the letter, she knew what she had to do and that she had to do it by herself. When Gray begged her to take him along, concerned for her wellbeing, her heart had fluttered so rapidly she thought it might burst from her chest; but truthfully, Juvia didn't know what she might discover about her parents, and that was why she had refused any assistance and only told Master Makarov where exactly she was going. She didn't want anyone following her, though she couldn't remember if she had mentioned Foxglove to Gajeel or not. Juvia giggled a bit at the thought; for someone who feigned disinterest in nearly everything, that big oaf had a really good memory. He was actually just a big softie, but with metal screws.   Juvia didn't even notice she had fallen asleep until the train's horn went off as it pulled into Foxglove Station. She blinked sleep out of her eyes and collected her small bag of things before quickly making her way off the train. In the pit of her stomach, she could already feel the nerves gathering at the thought of what was going to transpire. Juvia had booked a room at the town's inn, planning to pick up the records immediately from the orphanage and then retire to her suite to mull them over. She had enough money set aside for about a week's stay, so if she needed to be alone and mull over any particularly upsetting information that she might learn. Part of her was angry at herself for not taking anyone along, that she might crave company in the aftermath that learning about her family and her past might leave. But she took a deep breath and reminded herself that this was the correct action - to go alone.   Whispers of recognition fled past her as she made her way to the orphanage in the center of the purple-hued town, but not because of her origins there. She felt herself swell with pride as the people around her buzzed excitedly of her more recent merits. Isn't that the famous wizard Juvia, of Fairy Tail? The one who uses water magic and declared her love for her guildmate Gray to everyone at the first Grand Magic Games that Fairy Tail won? She's amazing! She was part of the last day's group that year! I heard she's incredibly kind and resourceful as well! She's even more beautiful in person than in the magazines! Well, what else do you expect of Fairy Tail?   Juvia was filled with a happy warmth as she climbed the steps to the orphanage door and reached up to knock. Juvia of Fairy Tail. That certainly was a title she liked much more than her previous Phantom Lord one. Her life in Fairy Tail was everything to her; it had all her friends, and especially Gray, and so many happy memories waiting for her to return. She would never let anything take her away from that. Her memories would be what comforted her if she found sadness in the records.   When the double doors opened, she immediately recognized the nun who answered. Her smiling face brightened upon recognition of the little Juvia that had once been growing up in the building she stood before now. Juvia was hastily invited in, and brought through the courtyard past smiling children who also recognized her. The courtyard was not a happy place for Juvia, as it reminded her of how no one ever got to play outside because of the rain she brought. She politely asked to continue through.   "I see the rain has stopped," her guide said cheerfully.   "Yes it has, thanks to a wonderful man in my life."   "Oh well, isn't that sweet? You deserve someone who cares for you so. What can we thank for your visit, Miss Lockser?" The nun asked sweetly as she poured Juvia a cup of tea.   She took the cup gratefully and was about to explain when she paused. They had sent the letter, hadn't they? So they knew she would travel to Foxglove, they would be expecting her visit.   "I received a letter, that said you found unsealed records in my name," Juvia spoke with a suspicious edge to her voice. "So I was hoping I could come to collect them."   The nun blinked at her. "Miss Lockser... there were never records of your past here. You were brought here by strangers who found you wandering on your own; we were never even sure if you were from Fiore. That's why it took so long for your uncle to be approved as caregiver. We had nothing to compare to. The only thing we took was that he knew your name, honestly."   Juvia felt a sinking feeling in her chest, all previous happiness gone. Suddenly she wished she had taken Gray up on his offer to come with her. That he might hold her while she cried the tears that threatened her now. This was even worse news than any information that she could have learned.   "I understand. Perhaps there was a mix up and I received the letter meant for someone else."   "I'm so very sorry. If you'd like, you can stay in town for a few days and I can let you check anyway," the nun answered. "Maybe you can spend some with the children here as well. They'd love you, I'm sure."   Juvia wiped her eyes. There was no hiding the tears now as they fell. She insisted she was fine, however, and politely chatted with the nun for a bit before excusing herself so that she might check into the inn she had reserved for herself. On her way down the steps of the orphanage, she pulled out the small communication lacrima that Master Makarov had insisted she bring with her; now she was grateful for it, because she was lonely and a bit suspicious. She decided to call the guild hall itself and ask whoever answered if she could talk to Gray. Juvia resolved to tell him she was in Foxglove, because she desperately wanted him here with her now.   Just as the lacrima connected to the one back at Fairy Tail, Juvia felt a sudden chill rush through her body. Goosebumps bristled her skin, and she felt her pace quicken. She looked around wildly, but no one around her seemed as panicked.   "Hey, sweetheart!" Someone called to her. She kept her head down, focused on the lacrima in her hands.   "Beauty with the blue hair, I'm talking to you!" The voice seemed to be following her.   "Juvia Lockser!"   The sound of her name reverberated through her ears. They only knew her name... because she was a well-known member of Fairy Tail...   "Ame Onna!"   She stopped dead in her tracks. Hearing her Phantom Lord name brought up emotions in her that she had kept down for so long. It had been one thing for the nun at the orphanage to mention the rain surrounding her was gone - because that had reminded her of the man who changed her life, and who loved her. But to call her that accursed name, was to remind her of a life she never wanted to go back to. I am not the Rain Woman!   With her Water Body beginning to boil as her anger rose, in preparation for the use of her Sierra spell, Juvia turned around to angrily face the man calling to her. "You better have a good reason to call me-"   Juvia stopped speaking immediately, cutting herself off when she recognized the man who stood before her. "You-"   And she was cut off again, but this time by the man himself. Because he had shouted "Raging Thunder!" and caught Juvia off guard by a powerful lightning spell that electrocuted her Water Body - more painful than when she had struck Laxus's Thunder Palace to save Cana - and eliciting a bloodcurdling scream from her mouth. One that a certain Mirajane Strauss heard before Juvia dropped and shattered the lacrima that had been in her hands.   Juvia dropped to the ground when the spell stopped, all of her strength sapped from her immediately. As she lay barely holding on to consciousness, she wondered vaguely if she didn't have such a strong magic core, whether or not that attack would have killed her.   The man stepped forward and lifted Juvia's limp body from the ground, bringing her closer to his face and allowing her to indeed confirm that he was the man she recognized, a man from her past that she had not seen in years. Another set of feet were suddenly heard coming up to her, and Juvia wondered for a split second if someone was coming to her rescue. When the newcomer spoke however, a horrified expression appeared on Juvia's face. Her worst nightmare come to life.   "I knew one day you would return to me, Juvia Lockser. My Ame Onna."
Mirajane wasted no time in informing Master Makarov what she had just witnessed, and he in turn wasted no time in rushing across the guild hall to where Team Natsu sat, along with Gajeel and Levy. He went right to Gray's side, knowing he was the one who most deserved to know.   "I fear that Gray's hunch was correct," he told the table, causing the young man to sit up. "His instinct to travel with Juvia was correct, but both Juvia and I were fooled. One of our own is in grave danger."   "What's happened to her?" Erza asked sharply, when Gray only clenched his fist in response.   "We aren't actually sure," Mira admitted. "She called on a lacrima, and when I picked up I saw her being electrocuted and all I heard was her scream. I think she dropped the lacrima because only a moment later the line went dead."   "Oh no!" Lucy gasped, covering her mouth with her hands in shock.   "Where is she?" Gray asked coldly, getting to his feet. "Tell me where she went."   "I'd bet she went to Foxglove," Gajeel crossed his arms and looked to their guild master. "Didn't she?"   "You knew?!" Gray turned his fury to the iron dragon slayer when the master nodded. "You knew and you didn't tell me?"   "If Juvia turned away your offer to come with her, it was clear to me she wanted to go alone. I wanted to respect her wishes," Gajeel turned his face away from him. "Foxglove is a small mountain village in the north, and Juvia grew up for a couple years in the orphanage there. Only one train heads up there. If we're gonna go after her, we better head out soon."   "Of course we're going after her," he gritted his teeth. "I won't let anything else happen to her."   Gray left the table and headed for the door without waiting for anyone else to follow. Everyone still present at the table looked between each other. An air of fear for the safety of their friend hung heavy between them until Gajeel stood up.   "C'mon Lily," he called to his Exceed. "Stripper ain't the only one concerned about Juvia. We're going too."   At his side, Levy also got to her feet. "I’d better go too, to make sure things don't get too heated between the two of them."   "We'll stay here at the guild just in case something else comes up," Erza offered her. "Perhaps Lucy and I can try and figure out who would attack Juvia?"   The celestial wizard nodded. "Be safe, Levy. And bring Juvia back, please."   Levy bit her lip. "We will. We have to... for her sake and Gray's."

Beach Trip
For @agitatedgecko who gave this great prompt
Summary: The Esper Squad goes to the beach!
Ao3 link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/15079412
Fic:
Sat in class, Mob's phone buzzed in his pocket. He hoped it wasn't Reigen calling for an emergency assist. Usually he didn't try to contact Mob when he was in school, but if he was then it was an emergency. With sweaty hands, he discreetly flipped the phone open so that the teacher wouldn't see.
Hanazawa:
Kageyama! [ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ]!!!!!
Mob blinked at the screen, sighing before typing back.
Kageyama:
I can't see emojis, Hanazawa.
Hanazawa:
Oh! Sorry, I didn't know that. That's right, flip phone, yes? Like Master Reigen's?
Kageyama:
That's right.
Hanazawa:
I'll have to talk to him about bringing you both up to date. The 21st centuries greatest psychic and his student really should have 21st century technology, don't you think?
Mob smiled at that, but it was wiped away quickly when his teacher coughed pointedly to get his attention. He swallowed nervously, making sure the phone was safely out of sight and giving it a few moments before checking his next message.
Hanazawa:
Anyway, the reason I was texting you was to see if you wanted to go to the beach with me tomorrow? I was thinking of inviting that red head your brother likes as well, he looks like he'd play a good game of volleyball [ ] [ ]!!
Hanazawa:
Those are ball emojis.
Sorry.
Hanazawa:
Oh, and you can invite Little Brother too *・゜゚・*:.。..。.:*・'(*゚▽゚*)'・*:.。. .。.:*・゜゚・*
Kageyama:
It sounds like fun, I'll ask him.
Kageyama:
I have to go, I think my teacher is getting mad at me.
Hanazawa:
Don't get in trouble, Kageyama-kun! ;)
Mob did end up getting a scolding, but it ended up alright. He still kept his phone and now he had plans to go with his friends to the beach. He'd found Ritsu at lunch and asked him if he wanted to go, and they both agreed it sounded like a good time. Though, Mob wasn't sure why Ritsu seemed especially eager when he said who all was attending. Maybe his little brother just liked groups going to the beach? He didn't know.
After school, Ritsu and Mob bustled around the house to gather everything they needed, with Ritsu making sure they had essentials like water and sun screen and Mob in charge of towels and umbrellas.
"Do you think we'll need this?" Ritsu held up some pool noodles that the family had bought some years ago.
Mob shrugged. "Couldn't hurt, could it?"
By the time Teru and Shou arrived at their door, the brothers had packed everything together and gathered it by the door. Teru eyed the pile appraisingly. "Are we planning on moving to the beach?"
"You'll thank us later when you want what we brought." Ritsu said, pushing past with an armful of stuff and even more floating along behind him wrapped up in his aura.
"I don't think we'll be needing a barbecue pit, Little Brother!"
Ritsu only waved him off. As it turned out, they did use the barbecue pit, and most of the things that the Kageyama brothers had thought to bring. Both Shou and Teru had brought their own supplies, but as happens often, had forgotten some things. As Teru and Shou made use of the sunscreen, Ritsu watched on with smug satisfaction.
"Go ahead and say it, if you're so keen on making faces." Teru stuck his tongue out at Ritsu, making the boy grin wider.
He giggled, "Told you so." He only laughed harder when Teru sent a towel telekinetically flying into his face from the pile of supplies.
Mob smiled as his friend and brother bickered playfully. It was nice to have everyone out on such a nice day, and after a light meal, he got to practice his sand castle building skills. He started with a large pile of sand with a leaf sticking out the top for a main castle, simple and easy, but then expanded that structure with more and more intricate buildings as it flowered out.
"Hey Mob, think my castle could beat your castle?" Shou called from a few feet away.
Mob looked up and his eyes widened at the sight. Shou had really gone all out, each piece of his castle intricately made with a moat and little sand alligators "swimming" around a well guarded gate. It seemed that Shou had learned some sort of sand telekineses to get everything just right. What worried Mob, though, were the canons perched on the castle walls.
"You wouldn't dare." Mob held out a hand over his creation, as if just his noodly appendage would protect it.
Shou grinned wider, putting his finger to one of the canons and making a sound with his mouth like a lit fuse. "Your kingdom has been in power for too long, sir Kageyama! I am here to overthrow you and take your kingdom as my own!"
As if to punctuate the statement, the canon gave a little bang! and out popped a little sea shell that took out the flag at the top of Mob's center castle.
Sand erupted, showering Mob with the small grains as he closed his eyes to protect them. He opened them and looked between his castle, now with a chunk missing, and the cackling Shou. His mouth slowly quirked into a mischievous grin. "You realize this means war, don't you?"
And soon, there was sand flying and laughter ringing through the air as the two boys played in the sand. Ritsu smiled as he watched his best friend and brother duel it out harmlessly.
"It's nice they're getting along." Teru said, sitting next to Ritsu under the shade of an umbrella. "To be honest, I didn't think those two would. At least, not at first."
Ritsu was about to protest, say something about how that was ridiculous, but thinking back to Shou's first encounter with his brother and all that happened... They'd come a long way since then. "Yeah, it's nice."
Teru gave Ritsu a side look, sweat dripping down his brow. "Same with us as well, if I may say so."
Ritsu thought about that as well, nodding slowly. "Yeah. Us too."
Teru relaxed, just a fraction but Ritsu noticed. From what he knew, Teru didn't have many friends. He was always alone when he wasn't with them, and he always seemed giddy to spend time together even if all they were doing was chores.
Ritsu looked to his pile of supplies and pulled out a beach ball, "Want to play?"
Teru smiled, and it looked positively devious. "Absolutely."
They played a few rounds, the score a lot closer than either thought it would. The game started straight laced, but after a few rounds of that, the gloves came off and powers were introduced. At some point, Shou and Mob also joined in the game, since they had no more sand castle to defend. Mob went to Ritsu's side and Shou to Teru's, and both sides fought valiantly until all were exhausted and lying in the sand as the sun began to set.
"We should do this more often." Shou said, winded and delighted.
"Yeah... we didn't even really get in the water that much," Ritsu agreed.
"I could do without the sand in my... everywhere." Mob held his shirt away from his skin, a cascade of sand falling from the fabric from his and Shou's epic battle. "But yes, I agree."
"Perhaps next weekend? I have tests next week, but the weekend should be free. Master Reigen's office is usually closed on Sundays, maybe we could invite him along next time?"
"At least then we wouldn't have to carry everything, he could drive us." Ritsu grumbled, eyeing the pile of things he still had to take back home.
"Regrets in packing choices, Little Brother?" Teru teased, and there was laughter at his joke. Genuine laughter, not the cruel sort he was used to from the goons at Black Vinegar. It warmed his heart.
"I have a pool, actually." Shou pipes in, "If y'all want."
"Next time, then." Ritsu nodded, resolute. Plans set, they enjoyed the rest of the sunset by the beach.

Something I really like about Hanazawa Teruki (and something I can appreciate a whole hell of a lot better now) is things like this.
I mean, he’s not an unselfishly altruistic person (far from it), and good god in heaven you could write whole books on this kid’s mental state (which I’m not going to because I don’t think I should/have the words to do so respectfully), and how his past informed his attitude and everything he’s done...
Teruki, in his earlier appearances, was similar to Bakugou.
...Actually, no, he was a lot like Bakugou - to the point where when I first saw Bakugou in action, I was raising an eyebrow. That’s not to say he was as bad as Bakugou (we’ve not seen anything from Teru that suggest he started out as early as Bakugou did, causing havoc/bullying/being an ass) but god all knows that he wasn’t a very nice kid before Shigeo read him the riot act and then ???% knocked him into the goddamned stratosphere.
I mean - he kept an almost godlike control over his school/the surrounding areas via his considerable power, saw himself as the ‘main protagonist’ and everyone else as ‘extras’, had absolutely no compunction about using his power to hurt other people, had a goddamn mental breakdown when the actual protagonist began to show him up/shatter his worldview, hated the protagonist/hurt him (and was desperate to do so to keep his belief that he was the strongest) because of that...
And I can go on.
There are a lot of parallels between Teruki and Bakugou - but then there’s where their paths divide.
Teruki decided to change. He made the conscious decision to change.
(The basis behind it, how shallow his potential reasoning, how quick he made that decision, his hypocrisy - especially in the scene with Ritsu - or whatever else aside - for now, that’s not important. People in this fandom have gone into Teruki’s personality a lot better than I ever could, so I’m not going to say too much on that!)
Teruki decided that he needed to do something else, because this wasn’t working. He got a firsthand glimpse into something that made him feel small and scared and helpless, and he works at turning it around.
And now, looking back on that with everything I know now, that’s amazing.
Hanazawa Teruki is only fourteen years old (or right around that age).
And he saw that what he was - wasn’t a very good person. He had nothing to fall back on beyond his powers. He had nothing, had never truly earned anything without his powers to personally benefit himself, and when he truly saw that, he realized it was time to change.
I’m not saying it was easy. I’m not saying it’s super quick and ‘oh he’s now a nice person!!!!!’ (no matter how much Teruki may want people to believe that). Pieces of his...darker personality pop out frequently. (Like, the whole torture thing. Jesus Teruki. That was hilarious, but also what the fuck.)
But he’s trying.
There was no reason for him to help train the weaker esper kids, to spend a lot of time helping them become the moderate powerhouses they are now. (Like seriously. Teru’s a fucking awesome teacher, good god.) There’s no reason for the good stuff he does! He doesn’t have to do it, doesn’t have to do anything beyond not hurting other people with his powers (for fear of Shigeo and ???%).
He doesn’t have to do any of that.
But he is.
Like Bakugou, I don’t think Teruki has ever had a person tell him no, before the ‘changing moment in his life’. Teruki probably didn’t even have his parents - they’re certainly not present now, and from his apartment and how he dresses, he’s probably not had them for a long time.
But unlike Bakugou, Teruki is trying to learn.
He’s trying to be kind, as someone who was maybe never taught that, as someone who has to painstakingly learn that after years of no restraints.
I think, despite everything and his personality and whatever reasoning the kid may have, Hanazawa Teruki wants to be kind.
And that means a lot to me.

Death Note Part 2
Writer: Tsugumi Ohba
Illustrator: Takeshi Obata
Summary: Light Yagami is an ace student with great prospects—and he's bored out of his mind. But all that changes when he finds the Death Note, a notebook dropped by a rogue Shinigami death god. Any human whose name is written in the notebook dies, and now Light has vowed to use the power of the Death Note to rid the world of evil. But when criminals begin dropping dead, the authorities send the legendary detective L to track down the killer. With L hot on his heels, will Light lose sight of his noble goal…or his life?
Rating: ★★★★☆
Part 1
Review:
I really enjoyed this series. It was so engaging and thought provoking. There was one part that bored me to tears and I kind of hated but other than that it was near perfect.
I’ve broken up my notes into parts because I read the giant 2400 bind up so it would be too long to do one post.
Hearing Light’s explanation for what he did makes me even more annoyed with the business executive plots. Light is so smart that he could figure out what he would do without his memories and what someone like Higuchi would do. That’s so awesome! Now why would I want to read 17 chapters full of these stupid business executives? There were way too many to care about or even remember their names. They weren’t as smart or cool or interesting as Light and L. Light and L figure out it’s the eight so quickly. They were pathetic antagonists.
“No matter what world, the god of that world creates the rules. You will be defeated by the fake rules I have created, and die for the sin of defying me.”—Page 1228
Did Light become crazier?
Ugh! Misa can’t remember L’s real name! I mean…I’m glad L isn’t dead but still.
“Ryuk: Sorry but… Misa: Huh? *Ryuk drops Misa* Ryuk: I’m male, I’m shy when it comes to girls.”—Page 1249
How weird.
“Even if she can’t remember the name…Misa will make the eye trade with Ryuk so she can help me…that trade will come in handy immediately!”—Page 1254
Jesus Christ, Light.
“So it was all part of his plan.”—Page 1257
Ryuk knows what a crazy SOB Light is.
“Light: The Kira case hasn’t been solved yet. I’m in no mood for love at the moment.”—Page 1264
Bit of a contradiction, Light. A while ago you said you fell in love with Misa.
Is everyone just sitting in absolute silence while Rem, L and Light are figuring this shit out?
WAIT WATARI! NO! HE WAS SUCH A BAD ASS!
NO NO NO L IS NOT DEAD! I SWEAR TO GOD!
20 days, 18 hours, 31 minutes and 30 seconds? Until what? L what did you plan?
Alright so looks like this Near kid is probably going to be a candidate for L and there’s this old guy who knows about the count down.
So now Light is Kira and L. What a strange turn of events.
“Ryuk: Then I can’t expect much more fun…”—Page 1316
Ryuk, we still have 1084 pages to go. I’m sure there will be plenty of fun!
“L is dead.”—Page 1321
No! I will stay in my bubble of denial FOREVER!
“January 10th 2005. Mary Kenwood, the second Kenwood daughter, dies in a motorcycle accident in Colorado, USA. April 7th, 2005. With his family at his side Thierry Morello succumbs to liver cancer in a hospital in Paris, France. Mary Kenwood and Thiery Morello, along with their alter egos, Wed and Aiber, are vanquished to the darkness.”—Page 1325
Okay then? Wait…did they die?
Holy shit, the business executives all die of heart attacks.
Alright, let’s see if Near can fill the L-shaped void in my heart.
Interesting so now the FBI, CIA and Near are going to try and track down Kira without L.
Stop. There’s a CIA agent called “Ratt”. Stop it.
Please tell me Light is using 4chan to kill people, they would be hilarious. Also, Light, might I introduce you to the concept of Fake News.
Ah, the NPA director has been kidnapped by a crazy chick.
“No matter what I have to do I will get it before Near…”—Page 1355
So we meet Mello, who at first I thought was a girl but is apparently a boy. And he grew up with Near in the orphanage and they were in competition to become the next L. Mello was always in Near’s shadow so now Mello is going to do anything to defeat Kira and Near. Which includes kidnapping and getting the Death Note that the Japanese police have.
So Watari ran this orphanage that was some sort of training facility for future L’s. Which means that Watari was some sort of father figure to L…which means my heart hurts.
This is actually a really interesting plot line. We have this weird sibling dynamic. It’s another cat and mouse game now that L is gone.
“Mello: I want Kira’s head and I’ll kill anyone who gets in my way. I’ll be number one.”—Page 1370
Huh, maybe training children to become these obsessive detectives is a bad thing.
It’s time for Near and Light to meet.
“L number 2, nice to meet you.”—Page 1413
Oh shit.
L M N, we need all the letters of the alphabet! Also, it’s a good thing that Light’s name also begins with an L.
“The original L gave his life and proved to the world that a mass murderer named Kira is lurking somewhere in Japan. He was even able to find out what Kira was using to do those killings. But even though you’ve taken over L’s place, you’ve done nothing. Not only that, I think Kira’s public approval has even increased because of you.”—Page 1478
Oh shit, Near is throwing shade!
Again, I think creating a school to create super genius detectives is probably not the greatest idea in the world.
“Touta Matsuda One of the men who work under me. But he’s completely useless.”—Page 1499
Aw, Matsuda, that’s so sweet.
Wow, Light got the President to play right into his trap.
“Near, I’ve pretended to be brainless but L is still the greatest detective in the world! And Mello, let me show you who is going to change the world with the Death Note—Kira!”—Page 1531
Light, you’re so crazy.
“I can do this…there are no disadvantages for me.”—Page 1542
What could possibly go wrong?
“Misa: Light, I’ve been a great help, haven’t I? Light: Yeah, I love you, Misa. Ryuk: Hyuk. Is that the face of someone saying ‘I love you’…?”—Page 1547
No it is not.
Well that plan was a complete disaster. You stupid cockroach shinigami (Sidoh). Although, I probably shouldn’t want Light’s plans to succeed.
Ugh, I feel so bad for Misa.
Light, you’ve corrupted Matsuda! He was kind of annoying but now…
Wait! Shit! Light’s dad is making the deal!
LIGHT’S DAD DIED!
Welp, Near figured out that L is Kira.
Now the former-VP-now-President of the US decided to turn over to Kira.
“…Then, Near, Mello, and L won’t be able to lead normal lives once they’re exposed to the world as infidels…”—Page 1683
Light, dear, you are L.
“If you’re scared, you don’t have to participate but please don’t leave the headquarters. I’m scared so I’m not going to go outside.”—Page 1689
Aw, poor Near.
Ah so Mello is with Hal.
Near offered to write Mello’s name.
Hey, shouldn’t this Xavier’s School for the Crazy have taught these kids how to act normal that way they could go outside without being an L suspect?
“Light: Yes, Near? Near: Sorry, I called the wrong number. Bip”—Page 1752
I love Near. Oh he was checking to see if it was L. That’s so smart.
“Light: Near, you must escape. Near: Look who’s talking, Kira.”—Page 1764
Oh snap.
It’s…raining money…Smart.
Aizawa is going to look into Light being Kira again. Hopefully he doesn’t die.
And now we have a new owner of the Death Note: Teru Mikami.
“Has Aizawa made his move? If he has, I shouldn’t try to pry into it too much. They’ll only get more suspicious of me if I do. Actually, it might be better to have them investigate as they please, and even check out Misa.”—Page (Too lazy to find the page number)
Fuck, Light knows.
I wonder if because Aizawa is a father that’ll effect his relationship with Near.
“No, the important part is ‘I’ll kill Kira, and then kill myself.’ Therefore Deputy Director Yagami and the Kira suspect are related.”—Pages 1820-1821
He’s so good. Oh shit, Near figured out that Light is the new L. Man, Near’s good. Light could never figure out L’s real identity but Near figured it out so quickly. Though, now that I think about it. It might have been in Rem’s Notebook.
I didn’t know Matt from Game Theory worked for Mello. The more you know.
Now we get to meet Mikami. Let’s see how crazy he is!
Huh, have we gotten this mug shot picture before for Misa and the business executive? We got one for Light and Ryuk.
So Teru was bullied. He is quite crazy.
Near…why do you have finger puppets?
Wow, it’s one of the girls who use to have a crush on Light. What a one in a million chance. Ah, but this inadvertently make things a little bit more difficult for Light. Man, this book is so brilliant sometimes.
Light, you are really shit at keeping your identity a secret. Mello and Near have both figured you out.
Back to Japan!
So Mikami is punishing the by-standards now. This is turning into an Seinfeld episode.
Takada, I need to remember that name.
Ide, they want to bonk! Matsuda knows people, he just doesn’t understand crime.
Light got into contact with Mikami and everything seems to be going according to plan for Light…unfortunately?
“I’ve never made travel arrangements myself. I want you to come back, and then we’ll go to Japan together.”—Page 1949
Aw, that’s so sad.
So battle between Light and Near has truly begun.
Damn, Hal Lidner has some balls.
Poor Misa.
“Once the victim’s name, cause of death and situation of death has been written down in the Death Note, this death will still take place even if that Death Note or the part of the Note in which it has been written is destroyed, for example, burned into ashes, before the state time.”—Page 2006
Doesn’t the Netflix movie completely throw out this rule?
MIKAMI ARE YOU NUTS? YOU JUST KILLED SOMEONE WITH THE DEATH NOTE IN PUBLIC!
“Matsuda: Ooh! Light’s in trouble now!”—Page 2031
…We are all Matsuda.
“Near: What this proves is that Light Yagami is a lady-killer.”—Page 2039
AY-OH!
Poor Aizawa.
So now Misa and Mogi have been kidnapped/taken into custody by Near. Ah, so this was Near’s plan to get someone to touch the Notebook.
Near is putting his plan into action I’m getting dangerously close to the end.
I’m assuming that Mello is going to show up at the last minute and completely ruin Near’s plans.
Mello’s kidnapped Takada!
And now Matt is dead. I hope Stephanie isn’t too sad about it.
Ah shit Takada is going to try and kill Mello. She, much like Hal, has some balls of titanium.
Aw shit Takada killed Mello. I wish he’d been more prominate in the book series. He was a cool headache for Light.
And now Light has killed Takada so he can destroy Mello’s body.
Near has a mask on.
And meeting has begun.
Nate River, there’s Near’s name.
“I’ve tampered with the Notebook. We managed to get it into our possession, and replaced the pages. The person behind the door…the one in charge of the actual killing, has been filling up one page every day, so I just calculated which page would correspond with today’s date, and replaced all the subsequent pages.”—Page 2212
Holy shit, really?
“Exactly as planned!”—Page 2214
FUCK!
“I ordered Mikami to use the fake Notebook outside on purpose to have your agent witness it in plain sight.”—Page Lazy
*sighs*
FUCK YEAH NEAR! YOU FUCKING DID IT! I’m so proud of you, kiddo.
“Matsuda: Light…Why…?”—Page Shit is Getting Real
Oh, Matsuda…
Man, Gevanni is good.
Oh god Mello scarified himself for Near.
“Mello always said he was going to be number one, and that he was going  to be better than me and L but I always knew that I would never be able to surpass L. it could be that I lack the action and he lacked the calm and even though we couldn’t surpass the one we admired on our own together we can stand with L together. Together we can surpass L.”—Pages 2262-2263
HELL YEAH!
Near called Light a murderer, hell yeah.
FUCK YEAH MATSUDA SHOT LIGHT!
Ryuk is writing Light’s name down in his Notebook.
Light Yagami is dead.
Near is eating chocolate.
I feel like if I were on this task force I’d retired after this.
Aw, Misa is the leader of a cult…how odd.
The bonus chapter was kind of funny.

Um, you take prompts right? If not just ignore me and know I adore your work times a ZILLION! You're probably the reason why I even consider Terumob. Anyway though. The prompt: would it be at all possible to see what happened between Reigen and Teru's mom when they were alone? Or was that just boring paperwork stuff?
Thank you so much! The next chapter of ANLG and I are still at war, but at least I can work on some prompts and pretend to be productive in the meantime^^
EDIT: It’s up on AO3 now as well, so here’s the link.
Devil’s Advocate
As soon as her son and his - friend are out the door, something inside Haruka Hanazawa’s chest instantly relaxes. Her fingernails stop burrowing into the skin of her forearm quite as deeply. Even though there is still a huge, trembling force inside her that makes it impossible to let go entirely, she immediately feels much less as if she’s choking on her own breath.
Just next to the sofa, close enough to the exit towards the hallway to count as blocking the path, Teruki’s lawyer stands with his hands in his pockets, eyes trained on her.
The tall man-child assistant is whipping his head back and forth between them and the door. When he spares a glance out the window, he jumps slightly and appears to begin sweating even more.
“Oh no, don’t,” he mumbles, clumsily rushing to the door, “don’t lean against the car please!” With his hand clutching the door frame, he leans backwards in the middle of his hasty retreat and blinks owlishly at the young lawyer. “Ah, uhm, do you need me here? Are we leaving now, or…?”
The lawyer lazily waves him off without looking at him. “Go ahead and prepare the car, I just have a few things to clarify still.”
His expression is neutral but still judgmental somehow. Haruka didn’t find him intimidating at all at the start, but now it’s suddenly impossible to even meet his cold stare head-on. She focuses instead on the assistant, watches as he scrambles out the door muttering to himself about cars and respect for other people’s belongings.
She laughs quietly into the silence after the door falls shut behind him. “What an interesting fellow. Is he a cousin of yours? Friend of the family?”
Because really, she can’t imagine someone that - slow - finding a job solely based on his own merits.
The lawyer shrugs. “Not at all. Former terrorist actually. Trying to turn his life around, but, you know how it is.”
It’s beyond terrifying that Haruka can’t tell if he’s joking or not.
She laughs anyway, more than a little put out with herself that it comes out jittery and uneven.
The lawyer notices too. One of his lower eyelids twitches. Haruka grinds her teeth into a sweet smile and finally lets go of her own forearm, hands dropping to her sides and relaxing. They’re almost not trembling at all anymore.
“Now,” she starts, glad to realize her voice is mostly back to normal, “unless there was anything else, I believe it is time you left me to clean up this mess.”
The young man still keeps his face an unnerving empty mask, but at least he breaks out of his eerily frozen posture and takes a few steps forward. “I would,” he says while he begins picking up the tray and cookies that were thrown around the room. “If I didn’t know for a fact that you’re focusing on entirely the wrong mess.”
Haruka stands still and watches. He dumps everything back on the coffee table, jangling the shards of glass that are lying there in a small pile. They’re glinting gently in the light of the evening sun and she decidedly looks away.
(The phantom feeling of glass and rough porcelain shards slicing through her skin is crawling up her forearm, right along that jagged collection of thin scars that she covers with make up every morning. Sounds of an angry child’s tantrum are ringing in her ears, she almost sees things being shot around the room again by invisible forces beyond her control.)
(Her arm is itchy. That cookie tray will have to be thrown out.)
The lawyer is no longer pretending to clean up. “You know,” he starts now, still rudely watching her with his arms folded, “I just remembered something. Maybe this will interest you.”
Haruka has to try very hard not to roll her eyes. “What a novel idea,” she says politely.
The lawyer tilts his head forward, his stare unimpressed and nearly disappointed now. “You know you’re not actually being subtle, right.”
“Oh? I am quite certain I was not attempting to be.”
“Fair enough,” he shrugs. “Anyways, there was this one kid at our neighborhood playground back then, she’d always steal everybody’s toys and destroy their sandcastles and all that, nobody liked her much.”
Haruka’s face feels oddly tight, as if her skin doesn’t quite fit over the expression she’s trying so hard to keep. All this is still going somewhere she does not want to be and there is little more than enduring and waiting for it to be over that she can do. “Children can be quite a handful.”
“Oh, definitely. Especially when they do things like, for example, take the plastic shovel that girl broke and hit her right in the face with it. And broken plastic can have some sharp edges. Actually cut that girl’s nose pretty badly.” He gestures at his own nose, wiggling his fingers up along the bridge. “See, I was being a little shit and getting carried away with everybody else’s opinion of her. Not that I meant to slice her face open, mind you, that part actually scared the living daylights out of me. But she was mean and everyone hated her, so of course it was fine for me to hurt her, right?”
She wonders if he is actually trying to intimidate her with this. If he’s maybe not aware that he’s been doing that in substantially more effective ways this entire time and really just ruined a good part of the effect by making her think about him as a little brat on the playground.
Her amused answering chuckle comes a lot easier to her now. “It seems to me that somebody simply failed to teach you a proper understanding of manners.”
And that, somehow, is what makes the man break out into a wide grin. “Funny that you would go ahead and make my point for me.” His hands are up in the air and flailing around suddenly and Haruka instinctively leans back a little, even though they’re not nearly standing close enough for her to get hit.
“I mean, to be honest, the situation alone was already jarring enough to teach me a thing or two, but some serious talks about violence and respect for others with my parents definitely helped as well. Now imagine how differently that could have gone if they had been too afraid to say anything. Too put out by all this unpleasantness to take action and make sure I came away from that whole thing with the correct lesson in mind. I wonder if enforcing the impression that this sort of violent behavior gave me power over others would have led to some screwed up perceptions of myself and my place in life.”
“Dear, I believe you are babbling.”
“Probably.” He snaps his fingers once and stops gesturing quite so frantically. “Here’s the gist of it: Your responsibility as a mother is more important than your moronic fears of things you don’t understand. And that kid becoming the little tyrant I suspect he was is entirely on you.”
Haruka can feel her smile wanting to slip into a grimace, to show her teeth and snarl some choice words on how much of the lawyer’s business any of this actually is.
But there are two angry, unpredictable espers and a mentally challenged former terrorist just outside and nobody nearby who could come to her aid in time.
The smile stays where it is. “You have made your opinion quite clear,” she says, proud of how she manages to keep an even, easy-going tone.
“Glad to hear,” the man says, whipping his hand through the air once again before pointedly holding out his palm towards her. “That’d be seven thousand yen consultation fee, plus one thousand to cover traveling expenses and fifteen thousand legal advisory fee, taxes not included, makes twenty-six thousand four hundred fifty total, cash please.”
And it’s not as if Haruka wasn’t expecting this, but the angry tremble in her fingers as she grabs the money from the sideboard next to her and shoves it at the lawyer is still hard to hide. “Keep the change,” she sing-songs through clenched teeth. “I hope your parents are very proud of the kind of person you have become.”
“They’re working on it,” he says, stuffing the money straight into his pocket and pointing rudely at her. “Which is much more than anyone could say about you.”
With the last of her cash crumpled up inside his pocket, the lawyer turns away and swiftly leaves her apartment.
It’s the overwhelming relief at his departure that clears Haruka’s thoughts.
Just enough for her to finally notice that he never showed her a business card or any other form of identification.
The dawning realization that he was most likely not a real lawyer is cold and furious. She closes her eyes, leans her head back with a deep breath.
“Fuck,” she says softly to the ceiling.
The smile is gone. It left an ache in her lips.

I wanna ask what you think about Reigen, Shou, Shinji Kamuro and Minegishi :D
Thanks so much and sorry in anticipation for how huge this ended up getting! To tell the truth, I don’t blame anyone if nobody ends up reading through it, I just have lots of thoughts and a big love for meta. for this meme
note. I changed hotness level to cuteness level for the children, uh
REIGEN
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life
hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type? | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang
…I don’t know, I think on a conventional beauty scale Reigen would be neutral-to-meh, but he’s charming on his own way
hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff
he falls close to slytherin I think, but the hufflepuff side is stronger
best quality: Reigen’s loyalty and commitment to his role as Mob’s father figure is astounding. I mean, we know he has loose standard when it comes to the law and deceiving people and he’s not the most put together guy, but the length he’s willing to go to protect and guide this child is amazing and  makes him a big hero in my book.
worst quality: The worst for me is that he tends to talk out of his ass, like, his words have a really big effect on Mob and I understand what he’s going for but being so adamant about the kid not using his powers against people ever was…not ideal I think, considering  circumstances. Also, due to his own personal failures his lessons sometimes are not the best or just hypocritical(but it still means a lot that he’s trying).
ship them with: Serizawa, and Dimple though that one is a little harder to work logistically, can you even smooch a ghost?
brotp them with: If mentor/father-son relationship type counts, MOB(and to a lesser extent, all the esper kids). Dimple.
needs to stay away from: uuuh…Mogami? but everybody does, really.
misc. thoughts: I think Reigen is one of the best handled characters in the story and I don’t talk about him enough or draw him or just appreciate him as I should. He’s precious and I’m really glad Mob has someone like him, and also the funniest, most extra guy ever.
SHOU
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life
cuteness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type| pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10
he’s a cute kid who is going to be a handsome little(yes) man someday.
hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff
to be honest, I kind  of want him to be a slytherin and he has the cunning and tenacious part down, but he also has a lot of gryffindor(brave, brash) and I think in a hogwarts AU Toichirou would definitely be a slytherin, so when his own turn on the sorting hat came Shou would never accept being the same.
best quality: Hm, strong morals and sense of responsibility is a big one(I mean, it would be understandable if he wanted to take his dad down just out of personal grudge, but he’s clearly disgusted by his philosophy and arrogance. unlike Toichirou, he has a good heart and shows concern and interest on other people’s well-being). But well, I guess, most of all, I just love how spontaneous he is? How he says what’s on his mind for good or bad and is creative and quick on his feet, willing to innovate/take risks and make the most of whatever is thrown his way. He’s independent, unapologetically rowdy and free and I love him for it.
worst quality: The negative of being so spontaneous, too impulsive. Facing his dad head-on like he did was noble, but ultimately a very bad strategy and really reckless. That combined with his complete lack of awareness on how to deal with people and a one track mind also makes for a dangerous and fiery combination. …I also love him for it, to be honest.
ship them with: RITSU. Yeah…and Teru, a little bit, but mostly I like them being buddies that at one point made out but decided to not go that way. …in fact, I like thinking that Teru is Shou’s first kiss somehow. Just, out of curiosity and solidarity, you feel me?
brotp them with: Ritsu, but if I have to pick another then, well, Teru. They would get along so well and be a force to be reckoned with… I also would very much like for him to have a strong bond with Serizawa, but would understand if he never completely forgives him for standing by his awful dad for so long.
needs to stay away from: Crystalware and stuff that he can easily break, which on second thought, with his power, is most things. And on the opposite end of that, Toichirou, of course.
misc. thoughts:  WHEN WILL HE COME BACK? He has so much potential as a character both with his past and what he’s doing now and he has so much to contribute and he JUST DISAPPEARED without even a proper goodbye. If he’s not back before the story is over I’m going to be really disappointed, but my hope is strong. I love this wild punk kid so much, and I desperately want a confirmation that he’s happy and doing well, and it would melt my icy heart to know that he’s still in Ritsu’s life after everything.
SHINJI KAMURO
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life
cuteness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10
well I wouldn’t want him to actually get away from me and he’s a child still, but I like to think he’s pretty greasy and not pleasant looking.
hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff
bordering on slytherin. He’s very focused, somewhat academically successful and knows how to work rules, but he’s also cunning and plays by his own set of morals.
best quality: …well, it would be a lie to say I like Kamuro primarily for his qualities, but that said, he does have them. He’s a kid and he’s learning and struggling with a very toxic home environment, and even though he literally had to have his senses knocked onto him to correct his path he ultimately did and isn’t a bad person.
worst quality: The bitterness is too strong on this one, and he’s unscrupulous. His frustration at a bad situation and self-loathing makes him want to hurt others to feel that he has at least some control over things. Unfortunately, along with that he also has actual power, which ends up being a really bad combination for Salt Mid School.
ship them with: I don’t know. Tokugawa maybe? Why not.
brotp them with: Ritsu and Tokugawa. Now that I think I feel like most of my responses to ‘ship with’ will inevitably show up as brotp too, hm.
needs to stay away from: His piece of shit brother. He may have changed or something, but as far as I know, him, yeah
misc. thoughts: I’m really fond of Kamuro! I tend to pick favorites who are villains or at least very morally ambiguous, and I kinda feel like Kamuro could be up there if there was more of him. Breeding negative feelings and acting out due to frustration and trauma or feeling helpless is a thing I relate with and I tend to feel close to characters that have this kind of thing going, be it in a way that makes me feel like they’re something I should strive towards being like or the complete opposite. I think this ends up being one of the main reasons I love Ritsu, the main difference here being that we keep following his story along with his brother’s and getting to know him better while Kamuro fades into the background almost completely after the big clean up arc(…but he’s still relevant in my heart).
MINEGISHI
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life
hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang
More like, maybe kind of too creepy to be traditionally good-looking, but SO ELEGANT. Graceful. Ethereal. Don’t judge me
hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff
my slytherin kindred
best quality: He’s changing into a kind and nurturing person, and is willing to grow. Remember to support your local weird psychic plant person on their path to redemption.
worst quality: He’s pretty selfish. Willing to go along with Toichirou’s plan as long as it would put him on the theoretical winning side, and only making a turn when he felt like he owed Mob personally. However, as I said before, he’s growing to be better and we’ve seen him be somewhat caring now.
ship them with: Nobody really, but I can roll with Shimazaki as I’ve seen some people shipping.
brotp them with: The big 5, especially Hatori and Shimazaki(because they’re all so different and it’s funny).
needs to stay away from: Toichirou and Mogami, as everybody should. But to be completely honest, I don’t mind him staying away from Shou as well, but that’s for the kid to decide what he’s fine with.
misc. thoughts: I’m getting used to non-binary Minegishi and I really like that fanon, so I was unsure about what pronouns to use here, hahaha. They were my favorite from the super 5 since I laid eyes on them and I’m really glad they’re still around, I’m a sucker for atoning ex-villains.

Breaking Routine, chap.2
Kageyama Ritsu is known for being good at a lot of things. He knows how to look at the root of people’s problems and address these concerns accordingly. This makes him a good second year’s student council representative. He’s athletic which is why he gives the higher level students a run for their money when competes against them. His intelligence coupled with efficient study methods and scheduling is why he has good grades and track record of being an honor student. And, just last year, Kageyama Ritsu became an esper. And after a year of training with his peers, he’s at least an above average psychic.  With all these under his belt, Ritsu considers himself, at the very least, to be a capable person. There were a lot of things he can do. Yet despite all of this, he isn’t able to relate to his older brother, a person he’s known his entire life.
At first, the younger Kageyama thought that the only thing he doesn’t understand is his brother’s animosity towards his own psychic powers. But as he immerses himself in the world his brother has known since meeting Reigen, he finds that there are a lot more things he doesn’t understand about the older Kageyama. One of which is Shigeo’s trusting nature. Ritsu initially assumed that his brother may just be gullible. And yet each time his brother chooses to trust someone who was only out to use him (i.e. Reigen and Dimple), he manages to prove that they were worthy of his trust. The honor student was unsure if his brother could see the redeemable qualities in people or if he just happens to bring them out without meaning to.
Ritsu asked about how the elder knows whom to trust.
“I just do.” Shigeo says with a small smile.
The answer does very little to reassure the younger Kageyama.
This means that his brother is using his instinct which is pretty much dictated by probability. Given that his brother has no reliable method to know, Ritsu’s afraid that one day, Shigeo would trust someone that would end up hurting him. His brother has good streak of luck so far. He was bound to make a mistake soon.
The younger Kageyama contemplates all this while absent mindedly staring at the news reporter babble about something that probably wasn’t important.
The atmosphere around their home shifted.
“I’m home.”
Ah. That’s why.
“Welcome home, Nii- ah. You’re soaking wet!”
“I forgot to bring an umbrella.” Shigeo says meekly.
“Shigeo! You’re home early. You should’ve at least waited for the rain to stop first. Although this was certainly unexpected, the weatherman said the storm wouldn’t come for another three days! Ritsu, can you get a towel for your brother, please?” Their mother asked.
“Okay” Ritsu proceeded up the stairs to do as he was told.
So that’s what the reporter was saying. But more importantly, the elder esper simply could’ve put up a barrier.
Their mother turned back to her elder son. “I’ll make you some tea.”
Shigeo shook his head. “I’d just like some soup with our dinner please.”
“You still have some appetite even after your snacks?” Even from the top of the stairs, Ritsu could see his brother flinch.
“Y-yes.”
Their mother was skeptical but let it pass. “I suppose you are a growing boy.” She ruffled his still dripping hair. “Well, I’ll go prepare dinner then.”
That was odd. Ritsu looked at the clock. His mother was right to note the time. His brother is hardly home this early when he goes out with Takenaka.
“Here you go nii-san.” The younger Kageyama hands the towel to the elder.
“Ah, thank you Ritsu.” Years of living with Kageyama Shigeo taught Ritsu how to recognize the slightest change in his brother’s tone. He could detect mild somberness in the one used just now. His worry pushes him to pry.
“So Takenaka-senpai didn’t have an umbrella either?”
He sees his brother stiffen. “Y-you could say that.”
“Did something happen, Nii-san?”
“Um…” He follows his brother’s gaze towards the dining area where their parents were.
“Right, later then.”
Their mother wasn’t one to concern herself with the affairs of her children. As long as they were safe and happy, she wouldn’t pry. But Ritsu knew their mother had tendencies to pry when it comes to their relationships. Thankfully, the younger Kageyama brother picked up a few diversionary tactics from Reigen. He hates to admit it but he supposes hanging out in his office has done more than just help him hone his powers. Dinner time went by without a hitch. The spoons twisted that night were blamed on Shigeo’s impending cold.
After Ritsu helped clear the table, he made his way into his room and saw that Shou was spaming his messenger again. He scrolled through them to see if it was about something important. Memes. He should’ve known. Ritsu rolled his eyes before placing his phone on his desk only for it to levitate alongside random objects in his room. The younger Kageyama sighed and looked at the wall separating his brother’s room from his.
It was that bad, huh?
Ritsu grabbed the various levitating objects and stuffed all of them in his drawer and locked it. He’d fix that later he reassured the part of his mind that was nagging him to put everything in its right place. He then made his way to the room next to his and knocked. He heard sniffling noises and the door unlocking.
When Shigeo opened the door, Ritsu could see red rimming the elder’s eyes. Guess the warm bath didn’t help much.
“Oh sorry, nii-san. Are you tired? Maybe we can do this when you’re feeling better.”
Shigeo shook his head. “I might not be able to sleep well if I don’t talk about it.” He stepped aside and let the younger Kageyama in.
Heh. I might not be able to sleep either, thought Ritsu.
Ritsu’s been inside his brother’s room a thousand times or so and yet he still couldn’t wrap his head around how his brother was okay with this set up. Shigeo’s room contained a closet and his futon. His school bag sat at one of the corners along with his other school materials. It was barely furbished compared to Ritsu’s. He didn’t get the rationale behind it. It’s not like lessening the furniture is going to make Shigeo’s powers less dangerous. Even now, Ritsu could hear the faint clattering of the various objects struggling to break out of the drawer in his room.
Shigeo fixed his futon and sat cross-legged on top of his blanket. He pats the space next to him and manages a small sheepish smile despite looking sick. Ritsu took this as his cue to sit down.
“So. Uh…” Ritsu struggled to start.
“Tsubomi-chan was Takenaka-kun’s partner today.”
The younger Kageyama was taken aback by his brother’s abruptness in talking about his issue. Ritsu felt a chill run down his spine. The information disclosed wasn’t particularly shocking so it was surprising that that happened. Unless-
“He made me sit up front. They won and then…” Shigeo wouldn’t meet Ritsu’s eyes and fiddled with a loose thread on his pajamas. “T-they hugged. And…I shouldn’t be this upset but…” Ritsu could see his older brother struggle. “They look good together.” The older Kageyama’s shoulders slumped with resignation. The younger Kageyama knew then that his fears were confirmed. His brother trusted the wrong person. The younger esper could feel anger bubbling in his chest.
“He seemed so happy, Ritsu. And, as a friend, shouldn’t I be happy for him? I…I just don’t understand why I couldn’t feel happy.”
Takenaka is a jerk and you shouldn’t feel the need to sympathize with him is what Ritsu would’ve said. That was probably an explanation that was too hostile for his brother to accept. And that was already a heavily edited version of what he originally had in mind.
“Well you have been pining over Tsubomi-senpai for quite some time. And you’ve been trying really hard to be someone she’d like. It’s understandable that you wouldn’t feel happy since his happiness is contrast with what would make you happy.”
You can be selfish for a change, brother, assert yourself. Don’t feel bad about this. He’s not worth it. Ritsu thought to himself.
The older Kageyama considered this for a few moments before shaking his head. “I don’t think that’s it.”
“I’m sorry?”
“T-that’s not it. I’ve realized that I could be happy even when I wasn’t walking home hand in hand with Tsubomi-chan. I was content when it was you, Teru or Shou I walked home with. I felt glad to know that I got stronger with the Body Improvement Club. I’ve been happy with my improvements even without the goal of needing to impress her.”  Shigeo idly drew swirls on his futon with his finger.
“Do you ever think about what you’re going to do after you confess to Takane-san?”
“Hm.” Shigeo pondered the question. “Yes, we’ll walk home together hand in hand while the sun sets.”
“No, you goof. That’s not what I meant.” Takenaka chuckled. Shigeo just stares at him. The telepath takes this as a sign to explain.
“Okay. One, you’re not even sure if she’d accept your confession walk home with you. And two, what’s with you and sunsets?” Shigeo broke eye contact meaning he was seriously thinking about the question. “No. Wait. Don’t answer that.” Takenaka rubbed at his temples but he was still smiling. “What I meant was, do you have other goals in case things don’t go according to your plan?” The psychic continues to stare at him, his head cocking to the side.
“Look, Kageyama, we both know that...” The telepath takes a pause, looks down on his shoes and considers the words he would use. And Shigeo thinks he might be insulted again. “…things don’t always work out the way we plan. We want to help out but end up making things worse sometimes.” Takenaka has weak smile on his face. The telepath absent mindedly re-adjusts one of his earplugs.
Oh.
“And…well, isn’t it bad that you’ve been doing all this for just one goal?” Takenaka looked at Shigeo to see if there was any hint of understanding what he meant. When he found none, he sighed.
“It’s either you really don’t understand what I’m saying here or you’re so dead set on winning Takane-san over that you don’t even consider anything else.” The telepath chuckled. He repositioned himself so he’s facing Mob.
“But it’s like,” Takenaka grappled for the right words. He spotted a discarded tennis ball he was supposed to be looking for and grabbed it. He began tossing the ball up and catching it. “It’s like training your whole life for one tournament. If you come to the competition with the singular goal of winning a championship and you don’t win it, what was your whole life for then? You’ll just end up unhappy.”
The telepath glances at his friend who seems to be deep in thought. He continued, “But if you train with people who care about you, measure how much you’ve improved each day, and do something else you love in the little breaks you get between training sessions, you’ll find that losing isn’t as painful. And that you’d find yourself willing to go through that training all over again. The point is, just enjoy the little victories.”
“I think I get it now,” Takenaka caught the ball and gazed at his friend who was intently staring at his own fingers.  Mob meets Takenaka’s gaze “Thank you for your concern Takenaka-kun but I won’t be unhappy even when she rejects me because I know I’ve gained friends along the way that I can rely on.” The timid boy smiles, “friends like you”
Takenaka was taken aback. His face flushes and he looks to the side. “It’s not that I’m concerned about you, idiot.” He glances at Mob and grins. “But I’m glad you understand.”
Shigeo manages a small smile at the memory. He looked up at Ritsu, “And I feel especially happy when Takenaka-kun and I- Oh.” The elder Kageyama’s eyes widened slightly at the realization. The third year’s study materials begin flipping themselves open and float around. In the other room, he heard a thud. He’s not sure if something fell out of place or if it was just Shou breaking in again.
“Ritsu” his brother said with faint urgency.  “Ritsu, I l-like…Oh no.”
Ritsu could feel his own panic rising. He’s filled with conflicting emotions because his brother is falling for someone who’d likely break his heart. He swallows thickly, “You like Takenaka-senpai?”
Shigeo blushes furiously. The light bulb in Shigeo’s room broke, just like a part of Ritsu’s sanity. He was so exasperated with the situation that he pulled at his hair, controlled his urge to punch something and opted to lightly pound at the futon they were currently sitting on, and screamed all sorts of profanities in his head in case Takenaka was listening. By the time Shigeo fixes the light in his room, Ritsu had the same expression he had prior to the lights going off. The younger Kageyama manages an eerily calm, “Oh.”
“You don’t seem surprised.” Shigeo draws his knees closer to his chest.
“Nii-san, it’s not that surprising to be honest.” But I’m still fucking pissed about it.
And it really wasn’t. They suspected it for a while. But what was particularly infuriating for Ritsu is that his brother figures it out only when Takenaka decides to show his true nature.
Making my brother sit up front while you flirt up a storm with Takane-san. You shit. I’ll show you. Hostile thoughts aside, Ritsu still has brotherly duties to attend to since his brother was giving him a questioning look.
“Things float around without your knowledge when you’re with him,” Things I’d like to smash on his head.
“You only talk about the best things about him,” Despite that fact that he’s a fuckin’ jerk since day one.  “And that’s just to name a few” Fuuuuuuuck. Ritsu smiled, his lips twitch a little due to the effort but the older Kageyama isn’t likely to notice.
Shigeo stared at his feet and sniffled “Y-you think he noticed too?”
Ritsu was not a mind reader and he knew. And Takenaka was. Which means he probably knew before anyone else did yet he still pulled that stunt. But for the sake of his brother,
“No. It’s not likely that he’d notice. Takenaka-senpai is usually preoccupied with something else.”
While you, nii-san, were preoccupied with him. The thought makes him clench his fist in anger.
Shigeo visibly relaxes. He proceeds to draw little swirls on his futon again, “I-I don’t think I want to see him for a while, Ritsu. At least not until I figure out how to tell him about why I didn’t wait for him and left.”
That’s odd. The younger meant to ask why but now probably not the best time. Ritsu considered the conundrum.
“Hm. That’s pretty difficult since you’re in the same class.”
Shigeo deflates at that statement. “But he does still tend to skip classes a lot. I’ll help you come up with a plan just in case he’s there.” Finally, something in his skill set can be used to help his brother.
“Ah. Thank you, Ritsu.” The smile Shigeo gives him almost erased all the pent up hostility against the telepath.
“So here’s what we’ll do,“

You don’t have to say ‘I love you’ to say ‘I love you’
MP100 Valentines Week
Day 8; Confessions or first kiss pairing: terumob
Story tag
x
Teruki's bag is waiting for him outside his front door when he gets home, a small bundle of fresh wildflowers nestled carefully on top -- and as he comes closer, he can feel the powerful impression of Shigeo’s affection as clearly as if Shigeo is standing right next to him, wrapping the sentiment around his shoulders like a borrowed coat.
“Oh,” he whispers for absolutely no one to hear, handling the flowers as carefully as spun glass; breathless with a feeling too heavy for him to hold on his own, and too precious for him to put down. “He’s always two steps ahead of me.”
It’s more of a comfort than anything else, and Teruki crouches right there in the outer hall even though his muscles ache and even his eyes are sore, digging his phone out of his bag to send Shigeo a text that says Thank you.
And then, before he can rethink it, because Shigeo deserves better than a second-rate coward, Teruki sends another text right after the first that says Can I see you tomorrow?
The flowers go in a glass of water by the window, his dirty clothes in the hamper – and Teruki should shower, at the very least wash his face or do something with his hair, but he's too tired to do more than climb into a pair of pajamas and fall into bed. His body is exhausted and his head hurts. There's an unnatural heat curling under his skin that probably should worry him, and a jittery feeling keeping him on the wrong side of consciousness, keeping his fingers curled around his phone.
It’s almost ten o’clock on a school night, but the reply he's waiting for comes after a few minutes:
Yes.
Teruki rolls over, pinning the phone to his chest in the cradle of his hands, and laughs breathlessly. He'll make things right – he will. He can't make a whole field of flowers bloom for Shigeo, but he can make a gesture of his own, one just as beautiful, he knows he can. It'll be the most romantic thing in the world, because anything less than that wouldn't be enough to convey even a fraction of these impossible feelings.
He falls asleep riding the backs of bright and brilliant ideas, and sleeps straight through his alarm in the morning.
“-- knew something was wrong. He’s very sick. What should I do?”
A hand on his forehead peels him slowly out of a dreamless sleep. Muted sunlight spills through the curtains at the window, and his eyes are hard to force open. Sweaty fringe sticks to his face, and the world tips and sways drunkenly when he tries to lift his head.
“Shigeo?” he says stupidly, even though he knows better. It's a school day, isn’t it? And then his stomach gives a nasty lurch, and in the second it takes to bend over the side of the bed a wastebasket has seemingly materialized in front of him.
Fingers comb damp hair back from his face, unfailingly gentle, cool against his flushed skin. Teruki leans into them, eyes half-lidded, and wonders what time it is.
“-- said no, I’m staying here. I’m not leaving him, shishou.”
There’s only one ‘shishou’ that Teruki knows, and he lifts his head so fast that he blacks out for a second or two.
“Master Reigen?” Teruki asks. It comes out in a jumble, like word salad. He doesn’t let that discourage him. “Tell him -- ask him -- I need Shigeo. I’m supposed to see Shigeo today, I said I’d -- “
“That doesn’t matter,” the voice says, and it’s pointed towards him this time, a little closer, a little softer. The wastebasket is lifted away from him, and a second gentle hand joins the first, easing him back down into bed. Teruki clings to consciousness stubbornly. “Just go back to sleep. I’ll wake you when the medicine arrives.”
What? No, no --
“It does matter,” he contests hotly, and his vision is swimming but he thinks he can just vaguely make out a pale face floating close by. He glares at it. “Of course it does, what -- what else matters? I have to see him. I’ll go find him on my own if you won’t help me.”
“Of course you will,” the voice says, and a hand settles on his forehead, heavy with something purple-and-blue, something familiar that sends thoughts of sleep swirling through all his waking ones. Teruki’s traitorous eyes droop the rest of the way closed almost immediately. “Rest first, Teru. Shigeo can wait.”
But that isn’t fair, because Shigeo has waited already. He’s been waiting all this time and now he’ll have to wait even longer, and sooner or later he’ll get tired of waiting, won’t he?
Teruki’s whole body hurts, but there’s a weight on his heart that hurts more. He's too used to companionship to lose it now. His apartment feels lonely when it’s empty, and he’s glad he has people to miss when they’re not around, and Shigeo ruined him for being alone anymore. He doesn’t want to be alone anymore.
“You won’t be,” the voice says, impossibly. It’s the last thing Teruki is aware of before he gives in to sleep. “Not ever.”
The next time Teruki wakes up, he’s not in his apartment. The unfamiliar bed is warm, the smell of detergent clinging to worn-soft sheets, and Teruki feels groggy and wrung-out and impossibly weighted as he forces himself upright.
Almost immediately, a broad hand settles against his forehead.
“Finally,” Reigen says, leaning back into the chair drawn up beside the bed. His expression gives nothing away, but his appearance is a little more rumpled than usual. “Your fever broke a few hours ago, but you’ve been sleeping like the dead since we brought you here."
Reigen’s apartment? “When was that?” he asks hoarsely, trying to keep up.
“Yesterday. The morning after you left here in the first place. If you were this sick, you should have said something then, instead of taking off on your own.” The psychic’s tone is somehow both mild and stern. “What is it with you espers, anyway? Will you break out in hives from asking for help?”
It was the jump, Teruki realizes belatedly, in the functional part his mind. Even with as much as he’s used to teleporting in small increments, the human body isn’t designed to fold through space the way his did; especially not in such a big way, and especially not when his physical and mental stores were already wrung dry after an afternoon of rigorous sparring.
Qi depletion, probably. Hopefully nothing worse. He relays as much to Reigen, watching anxiously as the man drags a hand down his face with a ragged sigh.
“You kids are going to be the death of me, you know that?”
And Teruki can’t help it. His face crumples, eyes burning -- so frustrated with himself he can’t stand it, for making problems for Reigen, for making Shigeo wait and then never showing up -- and god, if Shigeo didn’t hate him before he does now for sure.
“Oh, hell,” Reigen is saying, too quickly. “Come on, don’t do that. I didn’t mean it.”
“No, it’s -- I’m sorry,” Teruki mutters, fisting the blankets over his knees tightly in shaking hands. Staring carefully at his hands, forcing back hot tears. “I don’t mean to -- to be such an inconvenience. Especially after everything you’ve already done for me. So thank you for this, but I can -- “
“'Go home now’? Not happening.” Reigen’s eyes are heavy on the side of his face. “Mob would come after us both.”
Teruki’s head snaps up. It doesn’t do wonders for his headache, but he hardly cares, blurting, “Shigeo was here?”
“Up until a little while ago. He’s been all but camped by your side for the last two days.” At that point, Reigen seems to remember the tray canted precariously on the corner of his computer desk, and reaches back to relieve it of a sweating glass of water. Teruki numbly lets the glass be folded into his hands, riveted to Reigen’s every word. “I’m amazed you slept through most of what you did. You really must have been out of it.”
He vaguely remembers the sensation of an aura-heavy hand on his forehead, soothing him to peaceful sleep through fever and full-body aches. He covers his mouth, heat rising in his face.
“He was in my apartment.”
“Yeah, he was.” Reigen sounds some combination of exhausted and amused. “We had to relocate because he almost went next door to pick a fight with your neighbors. They were being “too loud,”” he explains, crooking his fingers in exaggerated air-quotes to Teruki’s mounting disbelief, “and “disturbing your rest.” I barely managed to convince him that ruining your relations with the other tenants in your building wouldn’t be remotely helpful to you in the long-run. And I mean barely.”
Teruki gapes. Shigeo’s capable of being irritable, but to outright confront someone, or try to, over something so petty? That doesn’t sound like him at all. Unless he’s so angry or annoyed that he hit the limit on that internal counter of his, Teruki realizes, with a sinking sense of dread, and there’s been nothing to bring him back down.
“Anyway, Mob was driving me crazy, so I sent him to pick up the schoolwork you’ve missed,” Reigen says, rising to his feet. He winces, pressing the heels of his hands into the small of his back, and Teruki is abruptly, acutely ashamed of his seat in Reigen’s bed. The man waves a hand, as if reading his mind, and adds archly, “When he gets back, he’s your problem.”
How something so innocuous can sound so much like a threat, Teruki has no idea.
Reigen bullies him into eating a full bowl of soup and finishing a second glass of water and then helps him to the bathroom for a shower. “I can sleep on the couch,” Teruki insists at that point, veering stubbornly toward the sagging sofa in the living room. Reigen looks like he's holding onto the last vestiges of his patience as a flagging Teruki climbs gracelessly onto the worn cushions despite the man telling him “no, don’t, the bed is fine, will you just --”
“This is exactly why I’m not a father,” he gripes under his breath, tucking a pillow under Teruki’s head and drawing a duvet up over his shoulders with unending care. “Goodnight, brat.”
Teruki forgets to be worried, and falls asleep almost immediately. Wondering what he did to deserve all these kind people he has now.
The next time he wakes up, the room is painted red and gold with the sunset that leans through the window. There are muted voices in the kitchen -- Serizawa and Reigen making dinner, if Teruki had to guess -- and a familiar aura very close by.
“There you are,” Shigeo says softly. It’s better than a bucket of ice water dumped over his head in waking Teruki up right away. He bolts upright, his heart a hot lump in throat, but Shigeo’s eyes are a pretty brown in the warmly lit room, and his expression is open and caring, and none of the itchy agitation Reigen described seems to be present at all. “I hope you’re feeling better. You were very sick.”
"I -- no, I’m fine. More than fine. Thank you. For everything you’ve done for me.”
"I was happy to.”
Something drops a long, leafy tendril on Shigeo’s shoulder, and Teruki follows it up to the hanging plant over their heads.
The flowers are blooming.
All of Reigen’s potted plants are flowering, bursting into life larger than their small confines and covering the flat surfaces of the living room and the windowsills in earthy greens. It’s more subtle this time than a whole field springing into sudden growth and color, but it’s still breathtaking to watch.
“I don’t mean to,” Shigeo says abruptly. Misconstruing Teruki’s silence, apparently. Watching him warily, as though waiting for him to disappear again. “It just -- on its own. And they grow. But I can try to not -- “
“Don’t you dare,” Teruki says, absolutely forbidding. Mostly playful, partly serious, he adds, “It’s the most impressive thing I’ve ever seen you do. Even moreso than the snow.”
“You thought the snow was impressive?”
“Shigeo! Of course!”
“You didn’t say anything,” Shigeo points out -- and he’s smiling now, which is what Teruki was aiming for all along. “I thought maybe you thought it was boring and you were just trying to be nice.”
“No way,” Teruki insists. “I love everything you do.”
“That’s good,” Shigeo says peacefully, “since most of the things I do seem to be for you.”
And nevermind the fact that he’s in rumpled pajamas, wrapped in a thick blanket, with probably the worst bedhair Seasoning City has ever seen. Nevermind how cinematic he wanted this moment to be, how perfect it was every time he closed his eyes and dared to dream about it.
Because there’s a familiar tug in his chest, one that has never steered him wrong, pushing him bravely forward -- psychic magnetism, or something close to it, insisting right here, right now.
Teruki reaches out, and catches up both of Shigeo’s hands in both of his own, and blurts, “There’s something I need to tell you. Something -- something important.”
Shigeo smiles at him, full and sweet and slow, and says, “It’s okay, Teru. I know.”
Teruki draws up short, feeling frozen to the spot. Even breathing would be too bold. “You know,” he clarifies cautiously.
“You’ve told me a hundred times already.” Shigeo’s fingers squeeze around his affectionately. “Just not in so many words.”
“Oh,” Teruki whispers helplessly, heart beating a painful tattoo against his breastbone. He can barely see through the haze of heat rising to his face, hands trembling in Shigeo’s calm ones. Their faces are bare inches apart, somehow, and Teruki’s breathing hitches.
“You can still say it if you want to,” Shigeo offers kindly; but Teruki shakes his head, clinging to Shigeo’s hands, and closes the distance left between their lips with his heart in his throat.
Kissing him is bumpy, a little clumsy, noses getting in the way, teeth knocking. But Teruki is nothing if not a quick study, and Shigeo is nothing if not willing to learn, and Teruki is tugging him up on the couch for a better angle when Reigen’s voice from the kitchen doorway says, “Alright, kids, dinner’s rea -- oh my god.”
They don’t quite spring apart, but they do lean away from each other to laugh. Dimple is saying something along the lines of “finally, good god, what took you two so long” and Serizawa is hiding a tiny grin behind his hand, and Reigen is ranting:
“I’m happy for you, but he’s sick, do you want to catch whatever he’s got? Mob? Do you want to bring your brother’s wrath down upon my household? Is that it?”
Already, Shigeo is slipping back under that blanket of careful repression, and it’s something like a cloud passing over the face of the sun. But his eyes are still bright, full mouth still smiling, and Teruki knows where to look to find him again.
He’s always known, really.

TW: Kidnapping, somewhat dark themes
It was late at night. In a house was three people. However, one of the trio had been awake for hours after the other two had fallen asleep. He sat outside, head tilted as he thought to himself. There was something wrong, but he couldn't tell what. It was a feeling in his gut.
'Keep her safe,' he thought to himself. That's the only thought he could think of, everything else being drowned out by the one thought. Eventually, he stood to his feet and walked back inside the quiet house. Going through the hall, he sensed the youngest of the house's door cracked open and stopped. Despite having no vision, he knew she was asleep at her desk, homework sprawled underneath her as she slept. It had been four years since they met; since he established himself as a parental figure to her. Since then, he hadn't so much as heard from her actual parents.
"Alright, little lady. Let's get you to bed." He muttered, placing a hand on her back, then lifted her up and into his arms. Without much effort, he carried her over to her bed and laid her down gently, then went back and turned the lamp off before teleporting out of the room and to his shared bedroom.
"Shima? You're still up?" Minegishi's tired voice groaned. "Yeah yeah, I was just getting a breath of fresh air and putting the kid in bed." He replied, shaking off his jacket while switching his usual style out for something more comfortable to sleep in. Once he was settled under the blankets and next to his loved one, he laid his hesd against the pillow. Sleep was a bit useless at the moment as he pondered what dangers were lurking about.
"Something on your mind?" He heard the male next to him ask. "I... Well, I feel as if there's something wrong. Something bad is going on, so I wanna keep her safe." He let out in one breath. There was a pause, the silence was murderous to him. Finally, he felt a weight on his chest as arms wrapped around his torso.
"We'll be fine. But, if you think something bad is going to happen, then I agree. Maybe one of us should be with her at all times." Toshiki replied, getting a sigh if relief from the male he was holding. "Thank goodness I'm not alone." Shimazaki muttered, arms finding their way around the other. They talked on for a for minutes longer, then the couple began drifting to sleep.
"So, why are you walking me to the Kageyamas' house?" Cookie asked, holding her backpack and dressed in her school's uniform. "No reason... Really. I just thought it'd be nice." Shimazaki answered as they walked down the path. "Uh huh.... Alright, sounds good to me." She shrugged, then continued to walk until they reached the house. Once they arrived, she knocked on the door. It swung open almost immediately, the two boys standing there with distressed looks.
"Need help with your ties?" She asked, rolling her eyes. They both nodded and she laughed, then pushed them inside.
"I'll see you after school! Love you, dad!" She told the older male before closing the door. As soon as she did, she looked back to the two and shook her head.
"You two will be the death of me." Cookie stated as she tied their ties appropriately. Once they were finished getting ready, the three left to school, talking about their plans for the weekend.
The school day went by as usual. After classes were over, the group of teens were headed to one of the empty classrooms around the gym. They all scattered about in the room that held some of the workout equipment they managed to sneak in from the gym's weight lifting room.
"I think I'm getting pretty good with this," Shigeo exclaimed as he lifted a heavy weight. "Hell yeah! We're all pretty damn strong." Shou grinned as he sat backwards in a chair. "Pretty soon, we'll all be able to lift the tiniest of the group!" He added, then looked to the girl of the group.
"Hey, I'm not that small! Puberty just made you guys taller than average." Cookie scoffed, folding her arms across her chest. "Yeah, sure. I mean, its not like you've been the same height since middle school or anything." Ritsu added, holding a mischievous smile. Her jaw dropped for a moment, then looked to the blond of the group.
"How about you, Teru? You gonna make a jab at my height, too?" She asked. "Uh... No, I'm trying to figure out what the hell he's doing," he responded, pointing to the window. The four looked out and saw Shimazaki standing there, hands in his pockets as he stood. Cookie moved to her feet and walked over to the window, opening it and leaning out.
"Um... Yes?" She asked, tilting her head to the side. "Are you ready to come home?" He replied. "Me and the boys were wanting to go get food after we finish here. You know the drill," she told him. "Well... Yeah, but I just wanted to bring you home. Keep me updated on your whereabouts." He stated, then disappeared. She leaned back into the classroom, confusion on her face as she turned back to the rest of the group.
"Weird..." She shuddered, then closed the window and went back to her conversation.
For weeks after, that's how it's been. Most of the time, Shimazaki would accompany her places, even if she was with other friends. Other times, Minegishi would take his place and walk alongside her. At first, it was confusing to say the least, but now it was starting to become a bit irritating as she hadn't gotten a moment of peace since.
Cookie pulled her shoes on and grumbled to herself as she tied them up. She pulled her jacket on and pushed the sleeves up so they weren't covering her hands, then pulled her hair out of the jacket. After grabbing her phone, she walked out of her bedroom with heavy stomps and towards the front door. However, she wasn't able to make it to her destination as a tall figure blocked her.
"Just where do you think you're going?" Shimazaki asked, arms folded over his chest. "Taking a break! I want a breath of air that doesn't have you within five feet of it!" She yelled, hitting her foot against the hardwood floor. He sighed and shook his head, "Cookie, sweetie, I told you already. There won't be anymore going out at night unless you have me or Minegishi with you." He explained, then stepped forward and placed a hand on her shoulder. She smacked his hand away and stepped to the side. He mimicked her movements, then grabbed her wrist.
They were back in her room. As she noticed the sudden changes in scenery, she pushed him to the side and let out an irritated groan.
"You can't keep me on lock down forever! I didn't even do anything wrong!" She yelled, as she went for the door again. "That's not the point! The point is, there's something dangerous out there and I don't want you to get hurt." Shimazaki raised his voice as he followed after her. "I'm an esper, and a damn good one at that. I can handle myself, so stop following me! I'm a human being, not some house cat for you to hold captive until I'm dead, Ryou." She stated, a hand on the doorknob as she spoke. He stopped in his tracks at the use of his first name, which gave her the time to walk out of the house and slam the door behind herself.
Cookie huffed and shoved her hands into her pockets after buttoning up the pride jacket she got years ago. She walked down the street, biting at the rings that pierced her lower lips while she thought to herself. It was childish, the whole thing. She didn't know why he was overreacting. There hadn't been anything bad happening on the news for months, so why would something suddenly happen now?
"Fuck it... I'm going to the park." She spoke to herself as she took another path away from Mob and Ritsu's house. For the moment, she didn't want to be around anybody. She wanted to be alone, without the presence of anyone but herself.
As she walked through an alleyway, the girl felt a sudden increase of weight on her. It was like a force was pushing her down. There was something familiar about this weight, but she couldn't place it. As she tried to walk on, it only felt heavier. She stopped in the center of the alley as the ground cracked and indented under her feet. Falling to her knees, she tried to look up and see what was happening. The cracks around her emitted a dark red aura, which only brought her to a memory four years ago. One that she thought she didn't have to worry about anymore.
"I thought... I... I thought..." She couldn't get the words out as she struggled against the force, using her powers as a desperate attempt to free herself. It was futile; she didn't understand why. Cookie collapsed against the ground as she saw two pairs of shoes approach her. She couldn't even tilt her head up to get a better look and eventually passed out.
"She will be an excellent addition to...." The voice trailed off as the last thing she heard.
'I'm sorry, dad...'
"It's been hours, Minegishi! Do you think she could've been hurt?" Shimazaki asked. After their fall out, Minegishi had returned home from a late night at the flower shop.
"Maybe she's with her friends. It's gonna be okay, Shima. There's no need for worry." Toshiki told him in a soft tone, grabbing his hands and holding them. "She called me by my first name... Then slammed the door. Was I that overbearing?" Ryou asked. The shorter male let out a small sound, nodding slowly. "A little. But it's okay, you were only trying to protect her from whatever harm is out there." He answered honestly as he felt the other grip his hands tighter.
"It's not something that's small, its... I feel like something from our past is coming back for us. It terrifies me that I can't figure out what it is." Shimazaki said, his breathing starting to grow shaky as panic settled in within him. The other male pulled him into a tight embrace and muttered softly, helping him through the panic attack with breathing exercises and words to reassure him that it'd be okay. They were gonna be fine, all that happened was their daughter going to a friend's house to cool off. That's it.
However, as the days went by without a word from the girl, the couple couldn't help but feel uneasy. At first, they reasoned that she was still upset and wanted time to go around and have some alone time, then as the days went on, it was becoming unbearable. No text messages, phone calls.
Knock knock knock.
"I'll get it, Nii-san." Ritsu told his brother as he paused the video game. He got up and walked out of the room, going to the living room and answering the door. Once it was opened, he immediately stepped back as Shimazaki stood there. He looked disheveled and exhausted, leaned up against the door frame.
"Please... Is Cookie here?" Shimazaki asked, pressing his forehead against his arm. By the tone of his voice, Ritsu could tell something was up. He shook his head, "We haven't seen her around for a few days. Why? What happened?!" He asked as Shigeo came out of the room to check on his brother. They looked to the boy and noticed his eyes widened a little.
"Have you seen or heard from Cookie these last few days?" Shimazaki asked, stepping inside. "I can't say I have. Is she alright?" The older Kageyama boy asked. "She... We..." The older male took a moment to breathe, which didn't help in holding back the tears. He fell to his knees as he tried so desperately to wipe his eyes free from tears, only to have more take their place. The two boys walked over and helped him over to the couch as he cried quietly, then began texting the other two of the group.
Shou and Teru showed up around the same time as Minegishi. They all stood in the living room as the pale man held his lover. He looked just as exhausted as the other, if not more. Shimazaki had managed to calm down a bit, just enough to explain the night he last saw his daughter. As soon as he finished up the last of their argument, he pressed his face into Toshiki's shoulder.
"I finished putting up the posters around," he spoke as he ran a hand through Ryou's hair. "We haven't heard anything from her..." Teru explained as the other three boys looked to each other. "I shouldn't have held her like a hostage... I should've let her have some freedom, what was I thinking?!" Shima scolded himself as his husband pulled him closer. "Don't blame yourself, idiot. No one knew what was gonna happen. For now, we can only hope for a miracle that she shows up."
Cookie's jacket was drenched in sweat as she was held down to a chair that was attached to the floor. It had been a few days, but it seemed like weeks had gone by to her. She was in a room all by herself and it was freezing. There had been numerous escape attempts, but she was weak against the people who worked there, leading her back to the same place. She struggled and did her best to use her powers, but the strength had suddenly decreased in them. Her legs were sore from the escapes, because every time she ran, she'd taken to the ground no matter what. The only relief the chair provided had been for her legs to rest while she tried to think of a plan.
'They might not even be looking for me... I shouldn't have yelled at him. I'm so sorry, Shimazaki. I'm sorry, dad.' Cookie thought to herself as she let out choked sobs, shifting in her chair.
As she sat there, the girl tried her hardest to curl up into a ball. It was useless to do so, as the metal cuffs kept her ankles and wrists firmly against the chair. The jacket she wore was cold, barely doing a thing to retain warmth. She lost her phone and shoes somewhere along the travel to wherever she was. Something that threw her off was seeing a familiar face, a familiar yet unnerving face.
From ex-Scars, she knew his name was Muto. He terrified her as she had been shown many illusions, of loved ones being killed in front of her, or even being put in illusions that made her the murderer. She hated it, and the most she could do was block out what she saw by closing her eyes. It still didn't help with hearing things that she never wanted to hear before. She didn't know why he was doing this. To her, all the Scars were on a track to bettering themselves and growing up. Claw had been defeated four years ago, so what could he possibly want from her now? After all this time?
"Its been quite a long time, hasn't it?" She recognized that voice, but didn't dare open her eyes. "I've had news that you awoke in our lab those years ago, right? Nothing could match what you had done, there. Let's see, it was maybe a good handful of mediocre espers against one . . ." His voice got closer as the footsteps grew near. ". . . Tiny, average girl. Or so we thought you were. No one could send a blast that powerful yet." As he went on, she finally caved in and looked up to find Ishiguro himself, standing there.
"So what? Did you stalk a little girl for years, til she got stronger?" Cookie remarked boldly, despite being weak. "You became talk amongst the lower level espers since we managed to salvage our security camera system. They saw what you did and even brought it to my attention of what exactly you had done. So now, the real fun begins." He explained to her as Muto joined them in the room. The smug look she had fell the moment she saw the taller male. Visions of everyone... Pools of blood, even coating her hands. It was familiar but she couldn't help but let out another scream as she was made to relive the murderous moments. It only grew worse when she saw those especially close to her. Shimazaki, Minegishi, Shigeo, Ritsu, Teru, Shou..... Takenaka.
It was easy to deceive her and manipulate her, something she hated so much about herself.
There was more knocking on the door. Shigeo looked away from the group as everyone gave each other glances on who it could be. He walked towards the door and opened it to see Takenaka standing there.
"Cookie... Uh, do you know where she is?" He asked. Mob stepped to the side to show him the group of people in his house, none of which were the girl.
"Wait, can't you use your telepathy to hear her and find out where she's at?" Ritsu commented.
"That's just it. The other night she was mad and thinking of so much, I couldn't keep track and then suddenly... Its made me lose sleep, I'm so used to hearing her before I fall asleep, the silence or voices of others just makes it unsettling. Everything went quiet. Its been quiet and I don't know what happened, maybe she's just out of town but even then,"
The looks everyone had given him as he talked on, all full of pity and grief when he realized that she more than likely hadn't gone out of town. His words trailed off before walking in and closing the door. Takenaka saw Shimazaki and Minegishi, then wiped at his eyes as he sat down next to them. There was a heavy silence, uncomfortable, but no one bothered to do anything about it.
"The... The last thing I heard from her was saying she was sorry to you guys," he said quietly. The feeling of dread hit everyone like a brick. No one had a clue on what to do.
"L-Let's just think for a second, okay..." Minegishi breathed out, hands grasping Shimazaki's shirt. "We should... We should try to figure out everything we can... Was there anyone at school she may have gotten on bad terms with?" He asked. The boys looked to one another and shook their heads.
"She never really spoke to anyone except us. Told us how she's already made enough friends." Shou explained, sitting down on the floor. "There just isn't a logical explanation," Teru added as they all sat around. There was a loss for words; no one could figure out what happened and it made them all feel powerless for once. What Takenaka had told them before made Shimazaki think, then cover his face as he realized even his powers couldn't help. So, he stood up and looked to Minegishi. They were both exhausted, and not in the best state of mind to think of any plan.
"Let's... Let's go home before I collapse here." He said, holding a hand to his lover. Toshiki glanced to his hand, then grabbed it and stood. With that, the two men left the house and to their own with exhaustion and heartbreak of the recent events.
"We can't just give up," Ritsu muttered once the adults were gone. "And we won't. They might just be tired from stress, so while they rest up, let's figure out a plan." Teru told him before they all got up and headed to the older boy's room to discuss more about the situation at hand. At first, there wasn't a lot to say. It was mostly comforting one another, to try and get into their spirits more. But while everyone had been comfortong each other, the heavy feeling of recent events settled in and left them all unwilling to do anything except sleep.
Her cheeks were wet with tears as she sat through another torturous vision. Every time another scenario flashed in front of her, she could feel it chip away at her sanity. However, after overhearing them talking, she could faintly make out words that they were done for the night. It was the only thing that brought relief to her. But, as they were leaving the room, the lights went dark before the door shut. She was left alone in the dark. Although she knew it was an empty room, the eerie feeling was what made it uncomfortable.
She tried to close her eyes and sleep it off, but she couldn't. It was too dark. If she wasn't being put under their brainwashing treatment, it was the darkness and silence that kept her awake. Her head dipped down sd she let out an exhausted groan, tugging her wrists against the metal cuffs. They were really out-doing themselves now, knowing that beforehand, it was just simply locking kids up in a cell with a bed.
The girl snapped her fingers a few times before a flame emitted from her fingertips. It wasn't much, but gave her enough light to see around. Her eyelids felt heavy, but it was difficult to sleep. She had no clue when they'd come back, or if they were just trying to get her to let her guard down. Paranoia has settled in since she first arrived and hasn't gone away since. Her whole body shook fron anxiety and pain. It didn't feel like the inflicted pain from her escape attempts, it was coming from inside. She hadn't felt it in a long time, but the idea of what was happening scared her.
She didn't know what to do. There wasn't anything she could do except hope. Even then, that was being shredded into pieces.
