i had another thought. because it feels like the sixth circle of hell in the uk right now, i’m sweating to death. mdni 😌
Steve Harrington’s parents are never home. he begins to act like the house is his as he gets into his early 20’s, not moving out because why bother if there’s a perfectly good empty house right here?
it’s a hot summer’s day, and he invited you over, his teal blue pool looking deliciously inviting as beads of sweat formed against your brow. sitting by the edge with your feet dipped in the water made for a refreshing difference compared to the Hawkins humidity.
Steve had an ice cooler in between you both, beers and fruity drinks bottled in ice. Clinking your bottles together and sipping, you leant back on your elbows as Steve watched you bask in the sun. Droplets of sweat rolled down the crevice of your chest, sliding down your sternum and pooling in the dip of your belly button. His eyes were burning rays hotter than the sun across your body, as your swimsuit was almost invisible to his imagination.
He slunk gently into the pool, as you squinted your eyes to watch him bob gently in the water over to between your legs.
“now, what’re you doing harrington?” you’d smile softly, as his now cold wet hands pried your thighs apart a little.
“nothin’. just in need of refreshments.” he would smirk, pressing kisses along your calf and to the side of your knee.
“baby, there’s like 45 drinks in this cooler, what do you want?” you’d ask with a giggle, sitting up again to look down at him looking up at you; his eyelashes wet and his brown eyes all pretty.
“none of them are hitting that spot, you know?” steve would say with a lower tone than usual, his fingertips dancing along your inner thighs. he would bring his hand up to your chest softly, pushing you back onto your elbows again before letting his mouth meet the dip of your hip and thigh.
oh. oh. you’d raise an eyebrow at the boldness of the man in front of you, pressing open mouth kisses along the hem of your swimsuit bottoms.
“need somethin’ a whole lot…sweeter.” Steve murmured, his fingers dancing with the strings at the sides.
“Will you let me, honey? Can’t let a poor man get dehydrated in this heat now? You wouldn’t do that to me, would you?” He teased, slowly pulling the strings as he kept his eyes on your face. You’d nod obviously and he’d lap you up like a famished man in the desert.
Tongue rolling along you like it was searching and waiting for the last drop of nectar in the universe, arms wrapping around your thighs and hands gripping the flesh as if he’d die if you moved away from his skilled mouth.
I can’t cope. I need this. Now.

Remember me? (Part 16)
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 9 Part 10 Part 11 Part 12 Part 13 Part 14 Part 15
Summary: Under the Mountain, Y/n met the High Lord of the Night Court, Rhysand. She was scared of him, but soon she found out that he wasn't who he pretended to be. Despite her efforts at not falling in love with him, she fails. It's not that bad as he loves her back.
But now he's gone, and she's left alone with nothing.
Except for a very adorable reminder of him.
•○●⛦●○•
Tw: secret pregnancy, none more that I can think of, so let me know if I need to add anything.
A/n: eh. i dont know.
enjoy!
•○🌑○•
Meeting was a fancy word for revel, really.
All the High lords were drinking and laughing among themselves in groups of twos and threes after they had returned a few moments ago.
They had gone off to a small room nearby along with their inner circles and guards to discuss whatever it was that high lords discussed. Eris had not wanted to leave Y/n's side, a muscle feathering in his jaw when he had left without her, his fists clenched.
But he had not left without glaring at every male in the ball room.
Y/n hid her smile behind her glass, taking a small sip of the fruity wine as she thought back to the way everyone had shrunk into themselves at his gaze.
Without even realising, Y/n's eyes began searching for that familiar head of fiery hair, and she found him standing next to the high lord of the summer court, nodding along as he spoke.
But he was already staring straight at her.
The heat from the bodies that pressed up against each other and danced around the floor would never compare to the heat that spread through Y/n when her eyes met his.
She shot back the rest of the wine, only to realise there was nothing left. Sighing, she stared into the depths of her cup, and the last dregs of the wine stared back.
When she lifted her head, Eris was no longer next to Tarquin, who was now smiling at something his cousin said.
Y/n's brow furrowed, and, huffing, she turned to make her way to the refreshments table to get herself more wine. Because, after she found Eris staring at her, she knew she was nowhere near drunk enough to get through another evening of longing glances and tenson filled words.
But she was met with a wall of muscled chest right in front of her face. So close she had to stumble back to take a breath.
"What the hell?"
Eris mouth was a cruel slash of a smirk as he surveyed her, the light from the majestic chandeliers made of faelights and candles reflecting in his eyes.
"What?"
"Why are you here?" Not exactly what Y/n had wanted to say, but she hardly said anything she wanted to these days. So this was not a surprise. It was as if her brain stopped working whenever he was near.
Leaning his shoulder against the wall, he sighed dramatically. Turning his head, he let his gaze sweep the huge chamber, resting for a moment on the orchestra that played a fast paced song. "And here I thought you missed me."
Y/n scowled, though she doubted he could see it. "What are you here for Eris? Is there something you wanted to say? Or are you here just to be dramatic?"
His smirk only widened as he glanced at her, and she huffed. "Do you know how to dance?"
Y/n blinked, deflating a little as she pondered the almost nonchalant question. "Yes." She mumbled quietly, studying his posture, wondering what his intentions were. "I had to learn and become good at it."
He nodded. "I don't."
He seemed to be lost in thought as he said, as if he had not intended for he words to slip but he had spoken them aloud instead of just thinking them.
"You don't?"
Eris glanced at her, shrugging. Y/n's gaze caught on his goblet as he did so, and she wondered if it would be okay to snatch it and down it herself.
"I wanted to learn, but I did not have time to. Will you... teach me?"
Y/n blinked, her neck warming. "Me?"
He nodded matter-of-factly. "You get to dance so you don't get bored, and I learn to dance. It's nothing more than a transaction."
She felt an unexplainable twinge of hurt in her chest at that, and she pushed it aside. Taking a deep breath, she ran her hand along her skirts for the millionth time that evening as she nodded. "Alright."
Eris straightened, his eyes widening just a fraction. There was a glint in his eyes she could not identify, but before she could decipher it, he spoke. "Really?"
Rolling her eyes, she grabbed his goblet. And then, without thinking or considering the fact that it could be a stronger beverage, tossed it back and swallowed.
She regretted it immediately.
Sputtering at the weird taste of the drink that was definitely not the fruity wine she had been drinking, she stared at the goblet in her hand in disgust. "What the hell was that?"
"That was whiskey." Y/n's head snapped up and she narrowed her eyes at him when she found him grinning. "This is why you don't steal someone else's drink."
She scowled, shoving the glass into his chest and turning away, trying to swallow the weird taste. It was no help.
She took a few steps away, wondering why she was getting so pissed over nothing. When she realised she was pushing through the crowd and he wasn't even following her, she turned to glare at him over her shoulder.
That was enough to scare him as he hurried to keep pace with her.
Standing on the edge of the dance floor, Y/n released a breath, trying to let loose the side that had adored dancing.
It had been the only time where she could not worry about being offensive without meaning to, could stop worrying about which court cockroach her father would marry her off to.
The previous song came to an end too soon for Y/n's comfort, and she took a deep breath before turning to look at Eris. He stared back at her. And then, his lips curling at the edges as he offered her his hand. She placed her hand in his, and instantly her heartbeat seemed to calm down.
In the back of her mind, she noted that he had discarded of his goblet somewhere.
He led her onto the dance floor with the grace and efficiency of a dancer who had danced for centuries, totally at odds with his statement of not knowing to dance.
As if feeling her skepticism, he slowed his pace down, glancing at her uncertainly. She narrowed her eyes at him, and his eyes sparkled.
He stopped and turned fully to face her, his brows lifting a little.
"What if you step on my toes?"
He tried to pout. Special emphasis on tried. "I won't."
Y/n sighed, then guided one of his hands to her waist. It tightened instantly.
She glanced at him for a moment, and found a subtle blush on his cheeks, though it could just have been the lightning playing tricks on her.
"So... Now what?"
Eris questioned once the fae around the two of them had begun dancing to the new tune. It also did not go unnoticed by Y/n that they maintained a little distance from Eris and her.
"Now we dance. Just follow me, I guess."
•○🌑○•
She let her body relax as the music picked up again after the applause from the audience died down. She could see the nervousness mixing with something in Eris's eyes.
The music that flowed through the ballroom was a soft but fast paced one. Not as fast as the previous one, but not slow enough to be a couple's waltz. Her heart seemed to be beating in turn with the beats of the song.
She dug her fingers into his shoulder as they made a particularly complicated turn, the fine embroidery on his expensive crimson coloured jacket that clung to his frame crinkling. The jacket was tight and loose in just the right places, putting his body on show for everyone watching. It almost made her want to act on the irrational and unexplainable urge pull their eyeballs out.
And, even though Y/n knew she would never do something like that to anyone, the thought brought her a little satisfaction.
She blinked a couple of times to try and focus again on Eris and his dancing.
Eris picked up fast. He was a good dancer. A little too good, considering he claimed to never have danced before.
Y/n's suspicions only grew with every moment that passed.
He was a little unsure at first, and his nervousness had almost seemed… forced. But she did not pay much attention to that as she focused on guiding him and making sure to stay away from the other couples.
It amazed her how someone like him, someone who was said to be one of the cruellest males in history, had wanted to learn something so elegant as dancing.
It made her wonder, what else had he wanted to do, what else did he have passion for that he as forced to stop in favour of becoming the powerful and cruel male everyone made him out to be.
Made her wonder if he had a different upbringing, would he have turned out different?
Y/n skin seemed to have taken on a perpetual warmth, and her body refused to cool down, especially when Eris slowly seemed to pull her closer, his hand having wrapped tighter around her waist.
She felt a bead of sweat rolling down her spine as they continued twirling around the floor, Eris now having taken over the dancing as he guided her through a series of practiced motions. Y/n realised that he had lied about his knowledge- or lack thereof- in dancing.
It was in no way the season where the weather was hot. But Autumn court people had fire in their veins- at least most of them did- and that, combined with them most of them lusting after a person in the room, made the heat rise.
Eris's hand on her waist also did not help. His proximity, his breath on her face and neck, sometimes even brushing against her exposed shoulders and collarbones when he dropped the two of them a little. His eyes were blazing with something Y/n dared not name.
All of it made her want to scream.
They had been dancing for two songs now, and as the song began to come to its end, the attention of almost everyone turned to Eris and her.
Y/n wondered if he would leave before they could dance to the third song, as three dances in a row was basically a marriage proposal.
A small part of Y/n hoped he would continue dancing with her.
The last few notes of the song lingered in the air, ad loud applause sounded from the audience. Y/n knew without a doubt that everyone present was now watching Eris, curious as to what he would do next.
Y/n was right there with them.
Eris had not looked away for one moment. Not one. And now, as the sounds of the claps from the crowd died down, he continued to stare.
Even when the next song began, he did not remove his hands from her form.
"Eris" Y/n whispered, glancing around. "people are staring."
"I know."
She blinked up at him. "This will be our third dance."
"And?"
"We- we can't dance-"
"Do you want to stop?" He cut in, giving her a pause.
"Three dances in a row is akin to a marriage proposal. You know this Eris."
"And? Do you want me to stop?"
Y/n pondered the question for a moment. And she knew that he could read her answer in her eyes before she even spoke by the satisfied and excited smirk on his face.
"No, I don't want to stop."

I can’t get this thought out of my head 😩 being on holiday in the summer court with Azzie, laying by the pool in a tiny little bikini getting a tan and drinking fruity little cocktails and Azzie sat at my side observing everyone like my own personal bodyguard 🫢 it’s not a want it’s a need
-🐰
Tumblr media
“Do you need anything, baby bun?”
You shook you head softly, offering him a smile as you glare at the sun through your sunglasses.
“No, I’m alright for now, thank you though.”
This weather was unlike any other the night court had; it was warm, bright and refreshing. The air lingered of sea breeze instead of star dust, and the change was rejuvenating.
“Just let me now if you need anything, bunny.” He brought your fingers to his lips and placed a soft kiss to your knuckle. “I’m always happy to help.”
Although his voice was gentle and his affections were loving, his eyes held a cold glare towards everyone else that you seemed to attract the attention of. You’ve only been at the beach for two hours and your mate had already murdered twelve males with his piercing stare and intimidating shadows. Truthteller laying on his lap out in the open didn’t help their case either.
You, on the other hand, looked as sweet as can be.
“Do I look good, Azriel? I feel like this bikini might show off too much.” You asked.
With all the attention on you today, you couldn’t help but feel self conscious about the two-piece your mate had newly bought you.
The glare sent to a summer court male paused as he changed his icy expression to you, softening it the moment you came into his full view.
“Yes, of course.” He answered, his eyes hardly scanning over you before he answered. “You always look perfect, my love.”
You knawed at your bottom lip nervously.
He was probably only telling you what you wanted to hear, you thought. It was his job as your mate after all.
“Are you sure? You’re not just-“
“Of course, I’m sure. If I thought it was too much, I wouldn’t have picked that one or even let you out of the hotel.” You could see through his sunshades as his hazel eyes observed every curve from head to toe before resting on your tummy. His tongue swiped his bottom lip before he spoke. “You look breathtaking, dear.”
His bronze skin glistened with sweat as you took him in for the thousandth time today, his raven hair falling over his forehead and sticking to his face as the sun beat down at him.
“So do you.” You breathed.
A smirk quirked as his lips, hiding how flustered your comment made him, before his shadows whispered incoherent secrets to their master. His jaw set tight and his eyes darkened.
You noticed his change in attitude pretty quickly, especially when he mumbled a low ‘hold on, baby’ before whipping his attention somewhere else.
Your gaze followed his his, leaning forward in your chair to get a better view. His large wings prevented you from seeing any further though, they immediately blocked you from the west side of the beach.
“Azriel what-“
“Don’t worry about, pretty girl. Just keep enjoying the sunshine.” He grumbled softly to you.
His gaze locked on a particular male, one he knew very well would upset you if you knew of his presence- never mind they way he immediately stared you down, so he would definitely scare him off to prevent you from getting your day ruined.
You knew of his protective nature, and also more than aware that he knew what was in your best interest. So instead of arguing back, you sighed softly and did as he told you to.
“Thank you.” He grumbled at the sound of your plastic chair squeaking as you laid back down. “For understanding, princess.”
His grip on your hand tighten slightly, his way of proclaiming his love for you.
“I love you too.”

Day27
I wrote about food yesterday. Let's continue the theme and talk about drink.  I mean, I've already covered coffee and tea pretty thoroughly, but then there's sparkling water, juice, smoothies, bubble tea, and of course alcohol.  Yeah, I can write a thousand words about this.
First of all, the absolute best beverage to hydrate and refresh is water.  But tap water usually tastes nasty, especially in cities; in the country a well might be the source of the water, so you don't know how it's going to taste.  In our household we don't drink bottled water; we filter the tap water.  So the rule is, pour out what you need and replace it immediately, that way it doesn't run too low or even run out.  Guess who has trouble remembering this rule?  That's right, the youngest member of the family.  She'll learn.
We used to buy huge crates of canned sparkling water, then we figured out that the little appliance known as sodastream works out to be more cost effective, and we don't have to clutter up our small apartment with used aluminum cans.  I try to always keep at least four flavors on the counter, so I can offer a selection of refreshment.  We usually have blackberry, peach, pineapple and lime or cherry.
When I was little, juice was not a constant, it was a treat, and you didn't get a glass of pure juice, either one of your parents diluted your glass, and if your mom did it, you got a glass of water with some juice flavor, and if your dad did it, the flavor was just right: fruity, but not sugary.  I was also allowed juice when we went out for breakfast.  And one time my grandfather took us out for dinner, and he ordered me a Shirley Temple.  I loved that drink so much, for years, I would ask if they had them on the menu when we'd go out as a family.
Speaking of juice, another appliance we purchased years ago and which is still in excellent working order is a juicer.  Not one of those high-powered juicers that deafen everyone in the vicinity the instant you turn it on.  This one is quiet, and easy to clean.  We got it after watching the documentary "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead".  I used it to try a seven day juice fast, and I posted pictures of the juices to my Instagram account.  Honestly, homemade juices using fresh fruit and vegetables are very satisfying.  I felt hungry at first, but my body adjusted quickly.
And I remember the first time we went to a Chez Cora for breakfast, and I saw this luscious smoothie on the menu.  I asked if I could have one, and the answer was yes.  It came in a beautiful glass, decorated from top to bottom with fruit.  That was my first smoothie, and it was far from my last.  I went through a phase where breakfast more than half the time was a smoothie.  In the summer, using half a banana, a bit of yogurt, some dairy-free milk, and a scoop of frozen mixed fruit, then blending, that was my ritual in the morning.
Just a few blocks from where we live, we have a little place that sells bubble tea.  Just like the Shirley Temple was the epitome of a treat for me, for N- it is the Bubble Tea.  And I agree, they're delicious.  Recently I saw a sesame flavor on a take out menu.  I haven't tried it yet, but I'm curious.  I usually go for green tea flavor.  N- always chooses fruit.  At her age I loved cranberry and grapefruit.  N- can eat a bowl of cranberries as if they were a bowl of candy.  She's not too fond of grapefruit though.
Our family goes out to coffee shops fairly regularly, and if I see a London Fog or a Matcha Latte listed, I am unable to resist.  N- is still at the stage where she wants hot chocolate, but she recently discovered white chocolate with a hint of peppermint.  And she is one of the rare kids who actually like 70% cocoa or higher.  Almost all of her friends, if not all of them, only like milk chocolate.  As I stated yesterday, N- is not picky.  Chocolate is chocolate, and you have to watch her otherwise she'll eat a whole palette.
When I turned eighteen I finished my shift at the Inn where I worked, went to the bar, and ordered a drink.  Now when I was younger I liked liquor combined with a sugary drink, such as a rum and coke, a whiskey and ginger ale, and less sweet, a gin and tonic.  I also enjoyed a glass of wine, or a bottle of beer.  Not just any beer: I like scotch ale or imperial stout, as a rule.  Like my chocolate, the darker the better.  And as far as I'm concerned, the best wine is not from France, from Australia, or from California.  It's from Greece.  Their wine tastes like sunshine in a bottle.
I recently tried an ale that was made with buckwheat and honey.  I've tried several drinks with honey in it, and usually I find them too sweet.  But I wanted to test out this one, because I suspected that the buckwheat would add enough complexity to balance with the honey.  I was so right: the result was a drink on the level of mead.  It was exactly like a fortified wine, but it was beer.  We have a friend who makes his own batches of beer, and S- got to help him out one time.  Every time we discover a new flavor, we like to bring it with us for him to try.  Next time we visit, I'm bringing that buckwheat and honey combination.
It's April 27.  Only three more days of posting my writing.  I've been working, for the past week, on a memoir of sorts.  I suspect a lot of this month's writing will find its way into the book.  But not today's.  Today's was about having fun, seeing how much I could write on one topic, a fun, easy topic.  I can't bare my soul every day.  It's finally a sunny day, and my mood reflects it.  All week it's alternated between cloudy and rainy, so I welcome the sun.  The buds are beginning to show on the trees, the grass has shifted from light brown to green.  Spring seems to have made itself known.

National Drinking Straw Day
Can you imagine drinking a milkshake without a straw? Or how anyone would manage a juice box? How many soft drinks would you have spilled on yourself in dark movie theaters if it weren’t for straws? I think we can all agree drinking straws have changed our lives for the better enough to deserve their own holiday, and that’s exactly what Drinking Straw day is about: celebrating the invention and patenting of the (paraffin-covered) paper drinking straw!
Learn about National Drinking Straw Day
National Drinking Straw Day has been designed to celebrate this humble invention. A straw may seem like such a basic thing, but it’s a necessity. From milkshakes to iced coffees; a straw is a must for a number of drinks. This is especially the case for cocktails with mint leaves in and other elements that you don’t want to swallow!
History of National Drinking Straw Day
The straws man ever used were made by the Sumerians, and were probably most often used for drinking beer, which at that time contained many solid byproducts of the fermentation process. Thousands of years later, in the 1800s, the rye grass straw became popular because it was cheap and soft. Unfortunately, it also had the tendency to turn to mush in liquid.
One day, while drinking a mint julep, inventor Marvin C. Stone became especially frustrated by straws’ shortcomings, as the taste of the rye mixed with that of his drink, giving it a grassy taste. He then patented the modern drinking straw in 1888. The first straw Stone made was just paper wound around a pencil to make a thin tube, and he then slid out pencil out from one end and applied glue between the strips.
This was already a great improvement on the rye grass straw, as it did not impart any flavor onto the drink being consumed. Stone later further refined his invention by building a machine that would coat the outside of the paper with wax to hold it together, so the glue wouldn’t dissolve in the Bourbon he liked to drink.
How to celebrate National Drinking Straw Day
One way to celebrate National Drinking Straw Day would be to spend the entire day drinking all liquids via straws—your morning orange juice, afternoon mineral water, you evening wine and so on. One thing to watch out for here, however, is the fact that sucking any liquid into your mouth via a straw heats the liquid up by a few degrees, and that’s why hot drinks, such as coffee or tea, should not be drunk using straws, as that could lead to scalding your mouth.
If a Mint Julep is not for you, another drink that needs to be enjoyed with a straw is a frozen Margarita. The Margarita is a classic cocktail, which consists of triple sec, tequila and lemon or lime juice. It is traditionally served with a salt glass rim, however, there are many variations available nowadays and a lot of people opt for sugar instead. You will see a Margarita in various forms, such as straight-up – without ice, frozen – blended with ice, and on the rocks – shaken with ice. There are also fruity varieties and different flavours incorporated into modern versions of this drink.
The Margarita is definitely one of the best summer cocktails, as it is light, refreshing and bursting with flavour. Most people opt for a frozen margarita during the warmer months, as we like our drinks ice cold when it is sweltering outside. We are going to reveal one of our simple frozen margarita recipes to follow, so you can easily enjoy this drink at home.
To make a frozen margarita you will need tequila, Cointreau, white caster sugar, orange zest, sea salt flakes and fresh lime juice. You are going to begin by making a syrup by combining water with caster sugar in a pan over heat. Make sure you choose a low heat and stir the contents constantly until the sugar dissolves. After this, you should grate in the orange zest and squeeze the lime juice. Pour all contents into a container and freeze.
Once you are ready to enjoy your Margarita, you should take the frozen mix from the freezer and blitz it in a blender. Once you have done so, add Cointreau and tequila. Get yourself a glass and rub a lime wedge around the rim, roll it in a little salt and then pour the drink inside. Finally, grab a straw and cut it in half so it fits the glass. The only thing left to do is enjoy it!
Of course, you can always make non-alcoholic versions of these drinks! Or, why not make yourself a nice, cold frappe? To do this, you need to add some water and coffee to a glass. You can add some flavored syrup, such as vanilla or caramel as well. You then need to whisk these ingredients together until there is a nice froth on the top. Add some ice, top up with milk, add a straw, and enjoy!
We also recommend that you do your bit for the planet and ditch your plastic straws on this date (if you have any!). Instead, opt for a metal straw, which can be used again and again. These are much better than the paper straws, which can be rather frustrating!

But First, Refreshers: A guide to the 3  different “passion” sounding drinks on the Starbucks menu (and some others, too)
We’ve all been there, right? Smiling barista asking “what can I get for you today?” while you question your sanity because your brain cannot seem to remember whether the drink that you love so much is the Mango Dragonfruit Refresher, the Pineapple Passionfruit Refresher, or the Passion Tango tea. The barista in front of you is trying to ask you questions so they can try to figure it out, you’re frustrated and confused and all you know is that it’s fruity (which doesn’t help, because they all are) and oh my gosh why do they all sound the same?!
Fear no more, you friendly neighborhood barista is here to help (and also save fellow baristas a great deal of time and guessing games, you’re welcome!)
Let’s get one thing straight: Refreshers ARE NOT teas. Repeat after me, Refreshers ARE NOT TEAS!
Now that we're all on the same page, let me explain: Refreshers are basically concentrated flavored juice that are, by standard, mixed with your choice of either water, lemonade, or coconut milk. When you mix them with coconut milk, they are called a different name such as “Pink Drink,” for example (don’t worry, I’ll go more in depth about this later.) Refreshers also, by standard, have inclusions, which is what we call the little bits and pieces of fruit that are put inside. Something else to note is that Refreshers, unlike what most people believe, have caffeine!! This is important if you are a parent who is considering giving these to a child. Also, refreshers already come sweetened by default. There is no way to take that sweetener out and no need to add more, but we can always put anything you want in it as long as you ask! The Mango Dragonfruit and the Pineapple Passionfruit are Refreshers.
Alrighty so iced teas, on the other hand, are pretty simple; they’re just tea over ice. We usually add water so that it’s not so concentrated, but you can ask for no water if you’d like. You can also get any of our teas with lemonade! These do not come with inclusions, unlike refreshers. These are also NOT sweetened by default; if you want them sweetened you MUST ask for it! I usually ask, but I know some baristas forget or assume that customer already knows. The Passion Tango is an iced tea.
Now, other than the kind of the drink (refresher vs. tea) what’s the difference between all three?
Glad you asked! They really could not be more different...
The Mango Dragonfruit Refresher is described by Starbucks as "A tropical-inspired pick-me-up--crafted with a refreshing combination of sweet mango and dragonfruit flavors and hand-shaken with ice plus a scoop of real diced dragonfruit." Basically, the name says it all: it's a combination of mango and dragonfruit juice and dragonfruit pieces (fun fact: its bright magenta color is actually due to the pieces, the base is a light gold color.) Dragonfruit and passionfruit sound very similar, but this one has no passionfruit at all.
The Pineapple Passionfruit Refresher is a new refresher launched in the summer, described by Starbucks as "Tropical flavors of pineapple and passionfruit mix with diced pineapple to create an island escape--oh so refreshing." As you're probably catching on, the names are very self-explanatory; this one is just pineapple and passionfruit mixed together. The interesting thing about this one is that it was designed by Starbucks to taste best with coconut milk, which they call "Paradise Drink." This one is the only one out of the three that ACTUALLY has passionfruit in it!
Last but not least and probably the most confusing of all for many, the Passion Tango Tea. I personally LOVE this one and I can easily say I like it better than any of the refreshers (sorry not sorry!) Although I understand the name might be misleading, this is NOT--and I repeat--this is NOT passionfruit tea! This is actually a mix of hibiscus, lemongrass, and apple. Yup, no passionfruit here! Like all the other iced teas, you can get this with water or lemonade.
"So why is it called that?" you ask?  Well, according to Starbucks, it's because of the color. They describe it as "...a refreshingly vibrant tea infused with the color of passion."
Speaking of color, that's a simple and easy way for you to remember the difference between these when ordering if you're having trouble with the names! Your barista will also have an easier time figuring out which drink you're ordering. If all else fails, always remember:

Okay!! I finally wrote out how perv!bestfriend!Eddie x reader start dating. The next ones will obviously be more smutty but in the format of the other ones. I haven’t had much motivation lately with writing but I hope this is still enjoyable. I’m trying to work through my writers block with plans for my WIP and two other new stories I’m planning for this cozy fall. If you haven’t already, or if you need a refresher, I suggest reading the other parts of Perv!bestfriend!Eddie so that you can kinda understand what’s going on. I’m not sure if I ever have but I wanted to thank y’all so much for enjoying my Perv!bestfriend!Eddie mini stories! It means a lot to me that people enjoy them and look forward to them. Please let me know what you think!!
As always, 18+ only!! Contains smut. Minors DNI!!
This is it. Todays the day. Eddie was finally going to work up the nerve to ask you on a date and be his girlfriend. After many, many months of excruciating teasing from both sides, he decided to put his feelings and heart out there. He had teetered back and forth with whether or not to actually do it. He had assumed that everything you’ve said and done were flirtations. However, there was a side of him that thought maybe you were making fun of him. He knew he was a bit of a perv and toed the line of boundaries one too many times.
That didn’t stop his mind from wandering. It also didn’t stop his heart from wishing. It was now nighttime. The tail end of summer in the air. It was still unreasonably hot out, but some cool air would come in and wrap around you. It was rather welcoming, considering you two were on the second blunt of the night. Eddie had drank three beers in a lame attempt to calm his jangled nerves. You were nursing your first wine cooler for the evening. You typically liked the fruity, sweet type of alcoholic drinks. Before you, Eddie only had beers stocked at his trailer. But since you started coming around more and he started falling for you, he realized what kind of alcoholic drinks were your favorites. Hence why he now keeps both beers AND wine coolers stocked at his trailer. So, when he looked over at you, he knew he might as well do it now.
“H-hey, uh-“ he cleared his throat before mumbling your name. Your head slowly turned over and a grin spread across your face.
“Yes, Eddie, my love?” You let out a little snicker. You always called him that and it made his heart flutter. It was the corniest thing ever, and the if it was anyone else he’d probably scoff but the fact that it was you; made all the difference.
He stammered before clearing his throat. “I have something to tell you…”. You looked him in the eyes and based on his tense and serious demeanor, you knew it was serious. You tilted your body towards him to let him know that he had your undivided attention. Which should’ve comforted him but only made him more nervous. “Okay, what’s up?” You ask. Taking a drag of the blunt before passing it back to him.
He puts it between his lips and inhales a large amount. He slowly let it leave his lungs in a last ditch effort to calm his jangled nerves and figure out the right words to say. “Well,” puffs of smoke escaping out of his mouth and nose, “it’s more of a question to ask you. Actually, uh, it’s both.”
You gave him a look that let him know he can continue. He whispered an okay and took a deep breath. That’s another thing he’s always liked about you. You were patient with him. It might slightly irritate you at times, but you allowed him the space he needs enable to gather his thoughts. “I…kinda, sorta…like you…a lot. I don’t really know how to say it or to put it into words but, you’re so…” you were expecting him to say hot but instead he said, “…captivating. Interesting, even…um…” he began to rub his hands up and down his thighs, something he did to calm himself down. You reached out to put your hand on top of his. “Eddie,” he looks up to look at you in the eyes. “I like you too…sorta, kinda.” You rolls your eyes playfully and laugh. He lets out a sigh of relief mixed with laughter. “Really?” You smile at him. “Really, really.”
“Well, in that case, I was wondering if you’d wanna be my girlfriend?” You smile at him while biting your lip. You nod your head. “I can’t believe it took you this long to ask me. I was about to lose hope, ya know.”
“Wait… you knew that I liked you?”
“Eddie, it’s so painfully obvious. You didn’t know I liked you too? With all the, you know, reciprocating I was doing.”
He looks back at the times you both teased one another and played the game of cat and mouse. The longer he thought about it, the redder his cheeks got, and the harder he became.
“Besides,” you say, rubbing your hands up his thighs and leaning closer into him. “I’ve been wanting to know if the rumors are true.”
“W-what rumors?” He gulps. The closer you get, the more he can smell your perfume and it almost has his eyes rolling back.
“You know,” you look at his lips, “how much of a freak are you really Eddie?” He whimpers and you lean in to kiss him. It started of slow and gentle at first, and became lustful and hungry. Especially on Eddie’s end.
He broke away from the kiss breathlessly. “Do you really wanna know?” You nodded. You gently grab one of his wrists and pull it towards you. You guide his finger past your flimsy shorts to feel your bare pussy. “Do you feel that Eddie?” You moan and in turn he lets out a groan. “I get so turned on thinking about you Eddie.” You push two of his fingers into you. You start moving his fingers in and out of you. “Do you hear that?” The gushy noise of how wet you are, rang throughout Eddie’s room. “O-oh fuck.” Eddie groaned. “That’s all for you.” Eddie looked up from the image of seeing his fingers being pushed inside you, in and out. You were so turned on that his fingers were drenched. You both looked into each other’s eyes before he pulled his fingers out of you and moved to hover on top of you.
“Get ready sweetheart.” He said, looking you in the eyes. Before popping the two fingers that were in you into his mouth. You moaned at the sight. You thought he was going to reach to unbuckle his belt but he moves off the bed and towards his wall. He got his handcuffs off of the nail and turned to you with a mischievous grin.
“Ever been handcuffed before?”

can you do the “our “almost” will always haunt me” with jake?? I NEED A REALLY PAINFUL ANGST WITH him
pretty pleaaaaseeee
this was pretty painful for me, because i really love happy endings, so i hope this is angsty enough for you, friend! Let's have a nice pic of Jake to set the mood, shall we?
Tumblr media
The party had been in full swing for just over an hour now, and Jake watched as you flitted about, playing the perfect hostess. He admired the way you effortlessly weaved in and out of social groups, refreshing drinks and passing out hor’devours, laughing at all the right times. How your golden yellow sun dress fit you perfectly clinging to all the right places, and don’t think he didn’t notice you were wearing the diamond earrings he’d gotten you as a sweet sixteen present nearly a decade ago. Jake noticed it all. Your eyes connected across the living room as you were speaking to Danny and his girlfriend, and even though he’d known you since the second grade, your smile still took his breath away.
“Dude, you’re getting a little creepy.” Jake jumped, startled by his little brother, Sam, who was eating a cocktail cherry off its stem. Jake rolled his eyes as he calmed down. “You guys should just fuck and get it over with.”
“Sam.” Jake shot him a glare that would’ve withered anyone else. “First of all, already have, and second…It’s not like that. Besides, she’s got a-“
“She’s got a boyfriend, I know, I know.” Sam rolled his eyes. Jake lost himself in the memory of his first heartbreak. The two of you had tried dating while in college, but with Jake leaving all the time for different shows, and finally touring, you’d decided to end things. Jake had been upset, but always knew you two would end up together, so he didn’t mind. He still was your best friend, and would eagerly offer to take you thrifting or go to the museum with you. The day his heart first started truly to break was after the actual breakup, on one of those Saturday thrifting days.
The two of you had hit the jackpot with some old clothes and Jake even managed to find a few records for his collection. You had suggested smoothies to celebrate, and as you were leaving, sipping on the fruity concoction in the styrofoam cup, you’d bumped into someone.
“Oh my gosh, I am so sorry!” you gasped, holding out your hands. Luckily you hadn’t spilled any of your drink, but Jake hid a smile at your flustered, embarrassed face.
“It’s cool, no harm done.” the man said, looking down at you and smiling. “Holy shit, Y/N?” Your eyes were wide as you studied the man in front of you. “It’s Trent, from Camp-“
“Camp Hidden Creek!” you finished. “Wow, it’s so good to see you! It’s been so long, like what? Eight years? I’m sorry I didn’t recognize you at first.”
“It’s okay, I was almost didn’t think it was you, but I’d know those eyes anywhere.” Trent chuckled. “Although there’s a lot less eyeliner around them these days.”
“Oh my god, shut up!” you laughed. Jake sipped his smoothie loudly behind you, beginning to feel like a third wheel. “Oh, I’m sorry. Trent, this is Jake. Jake, Trent and I used to go to summer camp together when were were kids.”
“I caught that.” Jake laughed, extending his free hand. “Nice to meet you, Trent.”
“Same, it’s nice to be able to put a face to the infamous Jake I heard so much about.” Both young men watched humorously as your cheeks reddened further.
“Are you in town for business or something? I thought you lived in Indiana.” you asked, redirecting the conversation. Trent nodded.
“My company relocated me here permanently.” he answered, shrugging.
“That’s awesome! We should have dinner together and catch up.” Jake started picking at the label on the side of his cup while you pulled out your phone, exchanging numbers with Trent. You smiled up at him, locking with his bright blue eyes. “It was really nice to see you, Trent!”
“Yeah, you too.” he smiled, holding eye contact a little too long for Jake’s taste. He cleared his throat and Trent’s smiled beamed towards him. “Good to meet you, Jake.”
“Yeah, you too.” Trent went inside the smoothie shop and Jake began walking, hearing you chase behind as you were focused on adding Trent’s contact info.
“How bizarre was that?!” you hummed to yourself, as Jake shrugged. “God, he’s still so cute. All the girls had humongous crushes on him at camp.”
“Did you?” Jake raised an eyebrow, and it was your turn to shrug.
“I’ll admit that I thought he was pretty cute.” you confessed as you took another sip of your own drink. “But all the time I was at camp, I was so helplessly in love with you, I really barely noticed anyone else.” Jake held back the grin he wanted to plaster on his face as you both continued to walk, his hand bumping into yours every now and then.
“Yo, earth to Jake.” Sam waved a hand in front of his older brothers face, making Jake come back to reality.
“I’m gonna go to the bathroom for a minute.” Jake handed Sam his drink and moved away through the crowd. Memories beginning to flood him now. Shortly after that Saturday, Jake had left for a small, month-long tour. When he got back, he’d been surprised to see that you and Trent had been hanging out a lot. He’d figured that it was just a kind gesture of you to exchange numbers with him, but as long as Jake got his own time with you, he was fine. As Jake shut the bathroom door behind him and twisted the lock, he remembered more.
One night at the bar, Jake had excused himself for a cigarette break, Sam following right behind him. They had been waiting for you to get there before really starting the party, and as they stood out front and smoked, they heard a familiar giggle. Jake’s head turned to see you walking towards them, holding hands with Trent, smiling as he bent down to whisper in your ear and press a kiss to your temple. Jake stayed quiet that night, but thankfully his obnoxious little brother was at the ready, shooting questions to you as soon as Trent went to the bar to order drinks for the table.
“Sooo, what’s going on?” Sam’s eyebrows wiggled as he glanced between you and the tall man at the bar. You smiled bashfully and shrugged.
“We’re kinda dating?” you supplied, avoiding Jake’s gaze. “We met up for dinner after we saw each other that one day, and then we just kept going out and then a week ago, he kissed me. And I kissed him, and now we’re just seeing where things go, I guess.”
“Well, as long as he’s a gentleman and treats you right.” Sam’s eyes narrowed at Trent’s broad shoulders.
“Sam, he’s wonderful.” you laughed. “No need to puff out your non-existent chest, okay?”
“Listen babe,” Sam pointed one of his long fingers at you. “He fucks up one time, you let me know. I’ll get Danny to help me kick his ass.”
“I’ll do it too.” Jake spoke up for the first time since you’d arrived. “You deserve the world.”
“Thanks guys.” you smiled at both of them as Trent approached with a handful of drinks.
Jake ran the cold water for a minute before splashing some in his face. His stomach was starting to churn as another memory pulled itself into view.
Eight months later, he was knocking on your front door, he’d been home from another tour for a few days and hadn’t seen or heard much of you. It was 8am and you hadn’t answered his texts all night, and he wanted to check on you. It wasn’t like you to go radio-silent like that. Jake knocked again, louder this time, and heard a clamor in the house, and the sounds of frantic, barefeet padding against the hardwood on the other side.
“Jake!” you breathed when you opened the door. “H-Hey what’s up?” Jake took in your messy appearance, the wrinkled, oversized t-shirt you were wearing, your hair unkempt, like you’d been sleeping. Yet your face was rosy and eyes wide awake.
“You didn’t answer your phone last night.” Jake shrugged. “I wanted to come by and see if you were okay.”
“My phone?” you furrowed your brows, looking behind you towards the living room. “Jake, I’m sorry. To be honest, I have no clue where my phone is right now.” you giggled and shook your head. “It’s sweet of you to come by. I’m okay, I promise.”
“Hey babe, I’m out of my body wash, do you mind if I use some of yours?” Trent appeared behind you, and Jake’s stomach dropped to his feet. Trent was dripping water, a towel wrapped around his hips loosely. It wasn’t hard to also notice scratch marks on his chest. “Oh, hey Jake, back from a tour?”
“Yeah, I just wanted to stop by and see Y/N.” Jake nodded as Trent came closer, stopping right behind you. “She wasn’t answering her phone, so I got a little worried.”
“That’s my bad, bro.” Trent chuckled. “We had a no phones movie night last night. This one is addicted to social media.”
“I am not!” you protested as he teased you. “You’re dripping all over my floors. I bought you another body wash, it’s under the sink in the bathroom.”
“You’re amazing, babe.” Trent leaned down and pressed a kiss to your lips before nodding at Jake and heading back towards the bathroom. Jake internally groaned as he noticed fading scratches on his back too.
“Well since you’re okay, I guess I’ll head home.” Jake sighed. You frowned.
“I was just going to make some breakfast. Why don’t you stay? I miss you, Jake.”
“Nah, I have to meet up with Josh in a little bit anyway.” Jake lied through his teeth. “But maybe we can hang out later?”
“I’ll make sure to find my phone today and we can make some plans.” You didn’t care if you weren’t wearing pants. You stepped out of the doorway and wrapped your arms around your friends neck, hugging him tight. Jake’s arms wound around your waist. He tried his best to ignore the faint smell of another mans cologne on your skin, just enjoying the embrace.
After taking a few more minutes to dry his face and collect his thoughts, Jake exited the bathroom, walking down your hallway and back to the party. He paused in front of a photo collage. In the center was a photo of you, Danny and the Kiszka’s as teens, the summer yourself, Josh and Jake graduated high school. It was a camping trip, and all of you kids had sat on an old wooden picnic table, Danny, Sam and Ronnie down front on the bench. You were sandwiched between Josh and Jake, your arms around their shoulders, grinning so happily at Mrs. Kiszka, your second mother, behind the camera.
“That was the best trip.” your voice was quiet as you sidled up next to Jake. “I think about it all the time, honestly. We all had so much fun that week. I’ll never forget when that lizard was in Josh’s sleeping back. He freaked out so much.”
“Yeah, that was pretty amazing.” Jake chuckled with you. He was about to say something else, when Trent appeared.
“Hey babe, I’m ready.” he said, giving Jake nothing more than a small glance.
“Oh okay.” you turned to Jake. “C’mon.” he followed the two of you to the living room, where Trent made his way to the middle of the party. He picked up an empty wine glass and tapped a tiny fork on it, getting everyone’s attention. Jake found his brothers, standing with them as everyone watched Trent set the glass down.
“First off, on behalf of Y/N and myself, we want to thank everyone for coming out tonight.” his deep voice boomed around the room. “We’re all so thankful to have such amazing friends and family.” he glanced down at you, standing by his side and you smiled, nodding. “And we couldn’t think of a better way to tell you this. A week ago this very evening, I asked the woman beside me, the most beautiful, wonderful, smart and caring woman in the world, to be my wife. Folks, she said yes!”
Jake’s face dropped. His ears buzzed loudly, drowning out the excited shouts of friends and family, and he felt sick as you raised up your left hand, showing off the diamonds and grinning. How had he not noticed that before? Were you even wearing it all night? Jake grabbed onto Josh’s arm as they watched their own mother rush forward, congratulating you and pressing excited kisses all over your face.
“I think I need some air.” Jake choked out as Josh and Sam tried to talk to him. Jake hurried past all the well-wishers, hoping to go unnoticed as he threw the back door open and stepped outside into the cool night air. He gripped the railing of your back deck, a place that used to bring him comfort after partying too hard at your house, or his early morning smoke break when you were still asleep in your bed, waiting for him to come back and keep the sheets warm.
In just over a year, your life had changed so much. When Jake had talked about proposing to you, you’d told him you weren’t ready for that commitment, that him leaving all the time was too much to deal with in a marriage. He figured you were just nervous, and that after he gave you some time and space, you’d realize the two of you were meant to be. Instead, it pushed you into the arms of someone else.
“I thought I’d find you out there.” Jake was on his second cigarette when you came outside, pulling on a cardigan sweater to fight the chill. “Smoke break?”
“You could say that.” Jake watched as you stood next to him, leaning on the railing with your forearms. “Congratulations.”
“Thanks.” you nodded. “I wanted to tell you sooner, so it didn’t blindside you. But the party got so busy so quick, and then once I found you alone, it was time for announcement.” Jake nodded, exhaling smoke from the corner of his mouth.
“I thought you weren’t ready for marriage.” Jake mumbled, refusing to make eye contact with you. “That’s what you said to me, when I tried asking you.”
“Jake-“
“No, why can you marry this dude you’ve been dating for just a year, but you couldn’t marry me, who you’ve known your whole life?” Jake turned to you, his brown eyes searing into your skin. “You and I have loved each other for so much longer. Tell me you still don’t love me, Y/N.” Tears pricked at the corners of your eyes as Jake unleashed his pent-up fury at the whole situation.
“There will always be a part of me that loves you, Jake. You were my first crush, my first kiss..first everything.” you sniffled, trying to ignore the burning feeling in your nostrils as you fought to keep the tears from spilling. “But you and I want different things from life. We’d never work in the long run.”
“I want you!” Jake tossed his cigarette to the floor, stomping it out and leaving a mark on the tan wood. “What else matters?”
“Jake, I want a partner!” you cried. “I want someone who will be there when I wake up in the morning, and someone who will be there when I go to bed. I want a family, with a father who won’t miss birthdays and holidays or soccer and t-ball or ballet because they’re out traveling the world and leaving us behind.”
“I’ve told you, I will give everything up for you, if that’s what you want.” Jake argued back.
“I don’t! I don’t want you to give up your dreams to make me happy!” the tears were spilling down your face freely now, and you patted your cheeks with the sleeve of your cardigan, trying not to ruin your makeup. “I couldn’t live with myself if you gave up your music for me. And I know you wouldn’t be happy. Trent is a good man. He’s kind and takes care of me, and he’s here. I love him, Jake. And I’m going to marry him, and start living the life I’ve wanted.” Jake’s eyes were now filling with tears. “One day, you are going to find a woman who is going to knock you off your feet. She’s going to be able to handle the lifestyle you have and want, and when that happens, I hope you forget all about me. I hope you’re so head over heels in love with her that you can’t remember a day without her.”
“I could never forget you.” Jake croaked, his voice thick from emotion. You smiled sadly.
“Maybe not. But one day I’ll be running around chasing kids, and you’ll be jet-setting to another country. We’ll have little to nothing in common anymore. I wouldn’t blame you if you did.” Jake closed the small gap between the two of you, wrapping his arms around you tightly.
“I will never, ever forget you.” he whispered into your ear. “Our ‘almost’ will always haunt me.” Jake pressed a kiss into your hair, and you lied to yourself, telling yourself that you didn’t lean into his touch like you always have, craving more. You gathered yourself and pushed away from him, once again patting your cheeks and under eye, making sure your makeup was still in place. Giving Jake one last sad smile, you went back inside rejoining the engagement party, disappearing from his arms for the very last time.

Taste Test: Bubly and Chinese Lay's
Tumblr media
For a bit of a change of pace, I figured I'd write about some snacks I recently tried.
Apparently these are the two most popular Lay's flavors in China, so they've been made permanently available here.
As we all know GG is a snack lover, and he especially loves Lay's chips. He used to endorse them a while back and there have been occasional rumors that he'll be endorsing them again (they never materialize into anything).
I've seen photos of GG eating cucumber Lay's in the past, but unfortunately I couldn't find any for this post.
Here's one of his old ads.
The man can make even chocolate covered potato chips look appetizing.
I am actually glad that he doesn't endorse Lay's anymore, because I have a weakness for Lay's potato chips and I don't need any extra excuses to indulge!
Western Paranoia
Tumblr media
They really want the consumer to know: while these are Chinese flavors, they are made in Canada! Don't worry, honorable Canadian, these were made in a trusted Canadian factory with trusted Canadian ingredients, not in some shady Chinese factory where who-knows-what is being thrown into the mix! 😅
Cucumber Lay's
Tumblr media
These chips were a real shocker. I don't know what I was expecting, but these look like sour cream and onion chips, and they taste... like cucumbers. Not like pickles or marinated cucumbers or something, but like cucumbers plucked fresh out of the garden.
They also smell very strongly of fresh cucumbers, the moment the bag is opened. I found it off-putting.
...
I respect that these chips exist, but I wouldn't choose to eat them. 😅
My partner, on the other hand, has already devoured half the bag. I'm at least glad they won't be going to waste!
Verdict: 1/5 🏞️🏗️🏗️🏗️🏗️
Chicken and Tomato Lay's
Tumblr media
Chicken and tomato... I was trying to think of any occasion in my cooking where I would put these two ingredients together, and I really couldn't. Maybe in a chicken taco or something? Or Chicken Parmesan (which I'd probably never make)? It seems such an odd flavor combination to me for some reason.
These taste exactly like tomato and chicken, and it's surprisingly good. The chicken flavor is savoury and the tomato flavor is a bit sweeter, so those who are into the whole 'sweet and salty' thing might really enjoy these.
My only complaint is that they are a bit too sweet for my taste (sweet in the way store-bought ketchup is sweet, as opposed to sweet like candy). I am much more into savoury flavors than sweets, and this was just a bit over the edge of sweetness to where I don't think I could eat many of these.
Verdict: 2/5 🐞🐞🪳🪳🪳
Blackberry Bubly
Tumblr media
Wow, I was NOT expecting how amazing this would be. It is fresh and fruity with absolutely no sweetness. It smells as good as it tastes, too, and fills the air with the refreshing smell of berries.
I have always scoffed at the idea of paying for what is just flavored club soda. It seems perverse and excessive in some strange way. But when I tried this I immediately knew that I was going to be buying more Bubly, without a doubt.
And then I reflected on it some more and realized, pretty much everything we drink, whether tea, coffee, ginger ale or whiskey is all just flavored water in the end.
The fact that this is really simply flavored is a feature, not a bug.
I love that there is a delicious, refreshing fizzy drink option that has no sugar and absolutely no sweetness (nor any chemicals or food colorings). Bright and clean and flavorful. This will be perfect in the summer.
The funny thing is, I don't even like blackberry. At least, that's what I thought before I tried this. Blackberry wouldn't have been my first choice by any stretch of the imagination. But the only single cans available were blackberry and lime and I felt lime was too generic a flavor to really get the 'Bubly experience'. After all, club soda with lime is something I'd probably normally drink in the summer.
But the blackberry is absolutely delicious. So fruity and refreshing.
I can now confidently buy the grapefruit Bubly I've been eyeing every time I'm at the grocery store. I'm sure I'll drink every can. Maybe I'll post about it once I've given it a try...
Verdict: 4/5 🛼🛼🛼🛼⛸️
Anyway, hope this was interesting. If I come across anything else that I think is relevant, especially if it's something GG and DD endorse, I'll try to do something like this again.

I know this is weird but i need to know a very important question:
How do you think the boys would smell like?
what the boys would smell like
fun fact: i almost got a job at bath and body works. another fun fact: i kinda have a synesthesia where i can look at a photo or think about something and just,, be able to smell it?? usually it happens randomly and i can't control it :/
genre: other
cw: just my usual bs
Lucia
❧ cinnamon and apples,, maybe it's just the hair color but that's the vibe; definitely uses a crisp apple body wash or shampoo
❧ fresh linen; rich boy always has nice clean clothes, although he does the smell test sometimes to see if he can get away with wearing that same shirt for just one more day
❧ related to his clothes, his fancy coat thingy smells faintly of real leather, as do some of his accessories and his scabbard if he's wearing it
❧ again with the clothing but he smells like tide laundry detergent, the one all the college kids use; my first ex used it and he always smelled soooo good lmao
Levy
❧ old books,, you already know this, he spends so much time in the library he probably soaked up the scent lol
❧ saltwater; you know when you go to a coastal shore and there's that nice sea breeze that's so refreshing but also kinda musky?
❧ he's definitely got a lighter scent to him too, something that offsets his rough demeanor, like a light green apple or powder scent, probably from his shampoo or body wash
❧ horse stables, but not too strongly; i work around horses and yeah they can smell terrible, but when the arena is empty and clean and there's just the smell of sand and horses and hay, it doesn't smell too bad. i say this cuz he likes to ride his horse so i'd imagine the smell would linger a bit on his clothes
Mefy
❧ yankee candle's "midsummer's night"; i remember this smelling so good, like the vibes on a warm summer night, it also reminded me a lot of a cologne
❧ evergreen or pine trees, idk which is which but it's the one the always make candles for around the holidays
❧ candle smoke; do you see the candle theme here lmao, he gives witchy vibes and candle smoke would for sure be involved
❧ he definitely wears some kind of rich cologne, something along the lines of bath and body works' bourbon, something very "manly" and yummy smelling, but he only wears very little of it, enough so that when he walks past you're like "ooo yum" but it's not overpowering
Oswald
❧ soil and cut grass; mans works in a garden, you know he's got that earthy smell to him
❧ flowers; he always has a fresh bouquet of flowers in his cabin and he keeps the petals he plucks or the ones that fall of to make potpourri
❧ sweat obviously, he does manual labor for a living, he's gonna get sweaty; he also has a very faint metallic smell, it's probably his jewelry, but it could be something else too iykyk
❧ ofc he's gonna wash up to get any unpleasant smells off, and i feel like he'd use goat's milk soap, something natural and fragrance free
Kaim
❧ tea obviously, he drinks so much of it and makes it all the time; he prefers the more classic teas, like earl grey and black, over the more fruity ones, but he always ends up smelling like some kind of tea
❧ linen and wool; he keeps his clothes fresh and clean but he doesn't use any fancy detergents so they just smell like the materials they were made from
❧ wood and metal polish; he does a lot of cleaning and polishing things, ofc he's gonna carry the scent of his cleaning products
❧ he's not much of a sweet tooth, but he'll often pop a spearmint into his mouth, whether it's to freshen his breath, boost his blood sugar, or have something to moisten his throat, he'll go through at least five mints per day
Mikael
❧ merlot; it's a red wine i serve a lot at work and it smells very good, very grapey and classy. it's risky business drinking wine while wearing all white, but i could see mikael sipping this drink while lounging around
❧ he probably uses a body wash that's advertised as smelling like the ocean but it's not a saltwater smell but rather something kinda sweet smelling?
❧ menthol or mint tea; very soothing and healing scents but also very fresh and keeps you alert. it's most likely from him drinking mint tea or having some kind of essential oil noel made
❧ warm cotton textiles; ya know when you get your bed sheets out of the dryer or you've had a towel lying in the sun all day and it smells very warm and comfy, perfect for curling up in and relaxing for a nap? he's got that smell to him, which contrasts interestingly with the mint
Ricardo
❧ axe body spray a men's cologne that's very spice oriented, or just straight up spices. it's generally a very strong smell but on him it just works well??
❧ gunpowder, obviously, mans fires guns for fun, so the smell will definitely linger in his hair, hands, and clothes
❧ i don't see him as much of a tea drinker, but coffee on the other hand, i could totally see him drinking. it lingers on his breath in the mornings but in a not gross way ya feel?
❧ leather from his clothing and accessories, he doesn't use a fragrant laundry detergent so the leather smell is much more apparent
❧ an extra cuz i feel like these examples are too little, but he probably also smells like wood from an older bar, as well as whiskey or brandy, some alcohol with a bit of spice to it
Noel
❧ this one's gonna be super specific but ashland's "freshwater pearl" candle, it's a very sweet smelling candle, kinda like if you were on a beach and there was a candy factory right next to you with its windows open; it'd probably be his shampoo or something that smells like this
❧ a plain white candle, or beeswax, something non-fragrant but clean smelling? almost like goat's milk products; he'd need something not super strong smelling so he'd be able to be stealthy n stuff
❧ his clothes smell like he got them from a thrift store, you know how everything has its own scent and it all just blends together? like you got some stuff with strong detergent, you got some stuff that smells like a grandma's basement. it all smells very worn-in and a lil musty but that's part of the charm
❧ essential oils; he uses what he grows in his garden to make medicines and oils to be used in first aid or just as a daily thing. some days he'll have lavender, the next he'll have eucalyptus, and then maybe some citrus
Lucas
❧ honey. he just looks like he uses honey scented everything, or at least uses honey in his skin and hair care, and it's not an overly sugary smelling honey, just something natural and the slightest bit bitter
❧ bold rock cider, another drink i serve regularly. it just smells like apples, but not as sugary as apple juice. it's very crisp and fresh and makes me feel like i'm in an orchard in a flowy outfit having the time of my life
❧ he strikes me as someone who'd like to bake, and he'd have a bit of a sweet tooth, so he'd smell like sugar cookies and snickerdoodles, he smells like he's been working in a bakery all day but in reality he just got done making a batch of his famous soft sugar cookies yumyumyum
❧ this one's a bit abstract, but a meadow in the middle of nowhere. there's no air pollution, all you can smell is the grass and the trees and the pure, unobstructed nature around you
Kurt
❧ citrus oil; a lot of the birdseed i've used includes oils from oranges and lemons and since he likes birds i imagine he'd have that lingering smell to him
❧ butter cookies, or just baked sweets in general. he'd the kind of kid who cannot have his tea without some baked treat to go with it, in particular some cookies to dip in his tea
❧ dust and cleaning supplies; he does a lot of cleaning a tidying up, and although he's been doing this for a while, he's still a kid and is bound to get stuff all over him and his clothes. he's tried to clean a duster in the wrong direction and ended up with dust all over himself, he's held a bottle of cleaner the wrong way and ended up with half the contents all over his hands and sleeves

Could I request “You have something in your hair, umm… Do you want me to get it out?” and “Would you mind if I kissed you?” with Taeyong pretty please <3 <3
Somehow you were roped into being the designated sober person for the evening. It wasn’t fair because you wanted to let loose and relax after the end of the semester too, but your best friend, another close friend, and two classmates had all beat you fair and square at rock-paper-scissors. So you were the sober one as they drank in celebration for the end of the semester.
Taeyong was just a classmate. A handsome classmate who you would often find your gaze wandering toward in the middle of class or in the middle of the study group you both attended. Even now, here in this bar, your gaze wanders toward him and his ridiculously handsome face.
He’s giggling into his glass, listening to whatever Doyoung’s saying, and you quickly glance away when he looks over at you.
Maybe you have a crush on Taeyong. That’s not weird, right? He’s your classmate, he’s charming and handsome. He makes you laugh and he’s kind and there was one super late evening that you’d spent studying together in the common area when he’d convinced you that trying to make a late night snack on the sketchy shared hotplate was a good idea (it wasn’t; the fire department was called and the dorm was evacuated, but it made for a good reason to share conspiratorial smiles).
You tuck your nose into your soda, and try to ignore Taeyong sitting just across from you even when his foot nudges against your ankle beneath the table.
At some point, you realize that Doyoung’s left for the night, and it’s getting late. And you realize that as the sober friend, it’s your job to make sure both of your friends and Taeyong get home safely.
Your best friend lives just a block from the bar, and your other friend is less drunk than you first believed, so they go off in the same direction, singing together, and you know you can trust them to find their way into your best friend’s apartment safely for the night.
And that just leaves Taeyong.
His cheeks are flushed pink, though honestly you can’t tell if that’s from the drinking or from the chill in the night air. “Am I walking you home?” He asks, a handsome smile tilting on his lips.
“Something like that, Taeyong.” Your shoulder bumps against his as you turn to start walking back to your dorm on campus. It’s not a far walk at all, and though the night is cool, it’s not too cold. It’s rather refreshing actually, especially with Taeyong’s warm presence beside you.
“What are your plans this summer?” Taeyong asks you as you reach campus again. “Are you staying here or leaving?”
You haven’t quite decided yet. On the one hand, you could go away for the summer; you’re not from the area, so you could go home. On the other hand you’ve thought about getting a job nearby, finally renting an apartment like you’ve been considering since your first semester here. You still have another semester left; you’ll be graduating in the winter, and then the future is wide open. So you tell Taeyong that.
“Are you looking for a reason to stay?” His voice has a strange tone in it, one that almost sounds like hope.
You shrug.
Taeyong stops walking, and you stop too, turning to look at him.
You’re standing on a bridge that crosses a pond that sits in the middle of campus. The library sits on the other side, the student dorms just beyond that, and from where you stand, you can see all the lights in all of those windows reflecting in Taeyong’s large dark eyes.
He lifts a hand toward your face before hesitating. “You have something in your hair, umm… Do you want me to get it out?”
You can’t imagine what you could have in your hair, but you nod silently. You almost hold your breath as Taeyong’s fingers touch your hair, a fingertip just barely brushes against your cheek. There’s a light tug on a few strands of your hair, and then Taeyong’s eyebrows draw together. “It’s tangled, sorry.”
He steps closer. His toes nudge against yours. He’s so close you can feel his breath on your cheek, smell his cologne and the sweet fruity scent of the drinks he’d been downing at the bar.
With a small sound of victory, he pulls his hand back from your hair and straightens up a little. You have just the time to notice that it’s a tiny twig he’s pulled free of your hair, and then you notice that he’s still standing right in front of you, a breath away.
And it’s truly so unfair that even at this close distance Taeyong is still ridiculously handsome. He’s just looking at you, his gaze flicking between your eyes and a little lower, and you can only pray that you look even half as good as he does up this close.
Softly, so softly that the slow night breeze might almost carry the words away, Taeyong asks, “Would you mind if I kissed you?”
“No.” Your heart pounds with longing in your chest. “I mean, no I wouldn’t mind. But you’re not drunk and just saying that, are you?”
“I’m not drunk,” Taeyong insists. “And even if I was, I’ve wanted to kiss you for a lot longer than just tonight. Can I?”
You nod.
Taeyong cups the back of your neck, and his lips are warm and smooth. It’s not a messy kiss or a chaste one, but one that falls somewhere in between. Your teeth do bump together, and Taeyong laughs a little, but then he’s kissing you again, kissing you deeper, and in that moment you don’t care that you’re standing out in the open on campus with dozens of windows aimed right at you. You just embrace the kiss, and let it overwhelm you until you need to pull back to cool your hot cheeks and your racing heart.
You take a few quick, cooling breaths, and then you look up into Taeyong’s eyes.
“So, have I given you of a reason to stay?” Taeyong smiles, playing with your hair, and you just smile and kiss him again as an answer.

Logicality with the word 'strawberry'
“Strawberry“
Pairing: Romantic Logicality Human AU TWs: None, this whole thing is just fluffy fruity goodness! <3
--
Logan let out a soft sigh as he leant against the rough stone wall and leafed through the pages of a murder mystery novel he’d read one hundred times before. The overcast shadow of the trees above him saved his sun kissed skin from a much rougher solar makeout session.
As he waited for Patton’s last lecture of the day to end, Logan could smell a sweet, fruitiness in the air; a strong, fresh citrus aroma that hid a candy-like berry scent at it’s back. Glancing across the road, he spotted a pop-up drinks stand. It was a rather hot day after all, and the sight of the sparkling glasses of iced lemonade sitting on the counter was far too enticing to ignore.
Making sure to check for traffic first, Logan bookmarked the novel and made his way over to the stand. The employee greeted him fleetingly, handing him a menu as she seemingly went to restock the juice dispensers behind her. Truthfully, Logan was glad to avoid smalltalk; he was getting better at handling conversations with strangers but without Patton to give him the reassurance he had done well, Logan saw little point in actively seeking it out.
The menu mostly consisted of smoothies, iced drinks, and a small selection of boba teas. Logan pointedly ignored the latter option - the texture of the tapioca ‘bubbles’ always left his mouth feeling unpleasant - in favour of trying out an iced drink simply labelled ‘summer fruits’. What that exactly meant, Logan had no idea, but if it tasted as good as it looked on the menu he had a feeling he wouldn’t be complaining.
Of course, Logan couldn’t leave Patton without a treat in the summer heat either. Knowing his best friend, the stoic young man looked for a more whimsical, sweet-sounding drink. In the end, he deduced that Patton would probably prefer the strawberry lemonade.
Once both drinks were made, they were quickly scooped into logan’s hands while his novel rested under his left arm. Upon turning around, however, he nearly leapt out of his skin to see Patton beaming so brightly at him, he felt that his strongest sunscreen couldn't protect him from those rays.
“Patton, you’re early,”, Logan noted, raising an inquisitive eyebrow, “I thought your lecture didn’t end until four?”
The slightly taller young man shook his head and Logan was powerless to not be hypnotised by the way his chestnut curls caught the sunlight, “It doesn’t, but our lecturer had to leave early, so here I am!”
A soft smile accompanied Logan’s fond sigh while he held out the strawberry lemonade to Patton, “Well, you’ve come just in time. I hope it’s what you would have picked..”
If Logan could bottle the feeling he felt watching Patton’s amber eyes glimmer with delight, he’d do so in a heartbeat. A heartbeat which was racing like a bullet train when Patton’s warm, delicate hand brushed his to gently coax the strawberry lemonade from his distracted grasp,
“It’s perfect-!”, Patton sniffed, “Oh wow, you can really smell the fruit! It’s berry nice!”
Logan groaned at the pun, even though his smile betrayed how much he delighted in it truly. While they walked home, Patton cheekily continued as he sipped the refreshing fruit juice, “Sorry Lo, was that the last straw...berry?”
This man was going to be the death of him. Not that Logan would complain.
“I would affectionately swat at you but I fear that if I try to do so, I will drop my book. You got lucky, Foster.”, Logan snarked fondly.
Patton grinned and before the shorter man could stop him, “Oh, so you need some… lemon-aid?”
Patton cackled giddily as Logan, also snickering childishly, bumped his arm against Patton’s. The taller of the two mock pouted adorably, “Logaaaaan, I almost spilled my lemonade!”.
Honestly, how was anyone allowed to be so cute?
Logan shook his head, chuckling fondly. However, he found himself stealing glances at his best friend as they walked. His feelings for Patton had bloomed over the last few years from a gentle bud to a flower so grand Logan could feel it’s roots cradling his heart. Each time Patton sipped his drink, Logan couldn’t help but wonder what it would feel like for those same lips to caress his own.
Perhaps it was the summer heat or maybe the culmination of years of pining, but Logan swallowed nervously as the two of them reached the road through the park that led to their student housing. Now or never, Logan supposed.
“... I’ve never tried strawberry lemonade before, you know..”
It was such a weak line. Logan was already internally chastising himself when Patton held out his drink for Logan to try. Biting back the urge to abort the mission and simply do as offered, Logan tilted his head up those couple of inches in their height difference and softly pressed his lips to Patton’s. It lasted all of two seconds before he pulled back.
Seeing Patton’s eyes widen in surprise followed by a sudden quiet had Logan fearing the worst, but before he could apologise, Patton leant in once again to return the favour. Or flavour in this case as the taste of strawberries flooded Logan’s mouth with a more intense kiss that left him feeling light-headed.
Logan locked eyes with Patton as they pulled back slowly, melting under his crush’s gaze.
“Logan Croft,”, Patton uttered softly, smiling while intertwining their free hands and softly coaxing Logan closer, “If you’re going to ask me for a taste, you should take the time to savour the flavour.”
-- This was a fun one~!
No angst, just shameless ol’ fluff. @patton-cake thanks for this one, it was so nice! Taglist: @somehow-i-got-an-account   @cateye-glasses   @fandomsofrandom @does-this-look-logicality-to-you @justalittlecorrupted @irritating-lady-knight @katlikethesword @ali_is_lazy

was tagged by @hurricaneoflies whose new url is going to throw me off for the rest of my life, we are both fellow ancient ones from the olden times when you had to pay to change a username and it’s even weirder when one of us does it. yeesh. (fully understand though! and it’s good one!) (although between this and @lies it’s starting to feel like all my tumblr friends are full of lies. who even are you people.)
Instructions are to tag people you want to get to know better or catch up with. I never follow rules. However I did end up I tagging a few people in this post while talking about my answers and they’re welcome to do this if they want, otherwise, as always, do this if you feel like it.
I’m not cutting this because I’m in a particularly rebellious mood idk.
Favorite color: a fact about me is that I don’t like picking favorites of pretty much anything even though I’m pretty solidly in the blue camp for color--still, I’ll go with what I’m into right now, which is that I’m kind of digging bright orange & yellow flowers for summer. I just got some for my main room and I love the way they brighten everything up and just feel kind of glowy.
Currently reading: Oh boy. I just finished a string of books and I’m at a loose end. So here’s some recs: Peter Darling, by Austin Chang, a trans & gay Peter Pan remix, The True Queen, by Zen Cho, a gay followup to Sorcerer to the Crown which has POC main characters and is very good (the plots are exciting and unpredictable in a very refreshing way), Ash by Malinda Lo (bisexual Cinderella), and then I reread the Tiffany Aching Discworld series which I loved even more this time--I was thinking last night that in the Witches books he drew the world of the Witches, and in the Tiffany books he made it sing.
Last song: Rod Stewart - Rhythm of my Heart. Make fun of me all you want but while walking home last light night from visiting @truncated-symphony, it was a nice listen in the dark. (Never will I roam / For I know my place is home / Where the ocean meets the sky, I’ll be sailin’)
Last movie: I haven’t been able to focus on many movies since the pandemic started so I think the last time I watched a movie was spontaneously watching Winter Soldier again with @brightontheoutside because she was talking about it as she watched and I was like fuck I love that movie I’m watching it with you. I know it’s a boring answer but I really really haven’t been able to watch a movie in any real way for over a year. Also it was so nice to watch it with her even digitally and without seeing her face or hearing her voice. I miss my frieeeeends.
Last series: I think this means TV? It’s been even longer since I’ve been able to watch TV, since before the pandemic. Somewhere along the way my attention span for it just snapped in half. I’ve really just been watching youtube. So! I’ve been watching a playthrough of Resident Evil: Village which is wild if you know me, I hate the horror genre, but for some reason this doesn’t apply to games? Especially when men play them? I like male fear. And when people are making sarcastic jokes while bad shit happens. I also have a soft spot for fantasy horor. So it’s extremely fucked up but I get why y’all are gay for the tall vampire lady. mad respect.
Sweet, spicy, or flavory: uh, all of the above. I have a hell of a sweet tooth but I wouldn’t say no to any of those. Spicy food has to be flavorful though and not just pure pain.
Tea or coffee: Do these surveys ever come up with more interesting questions? As usual: I don’t drink coffee, so yes, this is the only time I’ll pick. I drink herbal teas because I can’t have caffeine, it fucks with my anxiety and the anxiety drugs I’m on. I prefer fruity teas & hibiscus but I’ll try just about anything.
Currently working on: I’ll answer this like Jess did! Professionally, I am working on making some ebooks that I can’t tell you about because it would reveal exactly where I work but they’re both going to be beautiful when they’re done. I really wish I could say because I would love to tell people to buy at least one of them, I cried really hard while making it (because it’s so complicated, design-wise, I ended up basically reading it) for multiple reasons. If that makes you curious and you know me in real life, feel free to message me and ask--I just don’t want to say publicly!!
Personally, for fandom/the internet I am STILL working on my beast of a Legolas/Gimli fic. I had wind under my sails when I was still reading LotR (part of the reason I dragged my feet reading it was so I could keep writing) but when I finished I got a little stuck. I’m at the part where they’re reunited with Merry & Pippin and I’m working on Gimli’s POV of that scene but I haven’t cracked how I’m going to approach it. I need to think on a bit and I just haven’t yet.
For my real life, I’m also working on a long-term project (that wasn’t meant to be long-term! argh!) of removing the stain and re-staining a table that I’ve had since I was a kid. It was stained white because I wanted white furniture in my pink room but I’m A Grownup Now and the table was all dinged and dented and needs to be a new, less dingy color, that brings out the wood grain better. (White stain does not look good--if you want white, use paint. imo.) Also going to put a polyurethane protective coat on there so it doesn’t dent so bad in the future, the wood seems to be very soft and this table is definitely a working table that holds my internet router among other things. I finally got all or most of the stain off (after probably 2 years, I refuse to look up how long it actually took) (removing stain is REALLY hard) and I’m moving on to finer grain sandpaper at last. I’m both terrified and excited to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and get to actually stain this thing--part of me definitely wants to be like “well there’s a spot of white stain here in the crevice of this joint no one will see better get it out and take another week” just to avoid making any permanent changes I can’t undo.
