Favourite rarepair is Renadarity, ever since that amount us stream Jimmy did with some of the hermits it changed me on how I see duos.

Ren is a absolute sweetheart, and could treat Jimmy right if he got the chance. And they are just both amazing. I swear Jimmy makes me want to watch more of the hermits each time he collabs with them.

I used to never watch Hermitcraft, I knew of the server but I never watched any of them till Jimmy did a Collab with them. The reason I got into watching Grian and Tango (the 2 hermits I currently watch) was because of Double life for Tango, and I just really liked Jim and Grian's relationship together. And I kinda want to start watching Ren cause of this. (Went off topic sorry)

If Ren is in the next life series I would love to see Ren and Jimmy or Ren, Jimmy and Marty then they would be called The Dogs.

Ren gives off flirty bf vibes and Jimmy is the bf who folds like a piece of paper from the flirting. (Ngl that Jimmy in any ship)

and so its break time and i’m in a classroom with my humanities friends after we just had a class, and we’re just having the usual chaotic and wild time with each other (us humanities are very insane /lh /pos)

naturally for me and my hyperfixation, i bring up encanto a whole lot and my friends have heard me yapping about it a lot already too so they’re not surprised, they even talk about it with me too

in the middle of us discussing which encanto character is who in our friend grp, one of my friends asked if i wanted to watch encanto on her laptop, and ofc i said yes, so we did watch a bit

at one point, we were at the chaotic dinner scene

we were just watching it but then we had to pause it because another friend of ours was talking about something

i went to pause it without properly looking at the scene it stopped at, then we talked a little bit with each other while the movie is paused

after a bit, one of my friends looked over and pointed out the movie again, and then i looked too and saw—

i had apparently somehow paused it at the same exact moment of the pic 💀 the hilarious part about this is that i had even showed that very same pic to my friends earlier before we started watching

I wanna share a part of my orange theory If that’s okay!!! And it’s kinda out there, but in “Incomplete: The Puzzle Song”, they said “several sides you don’t know abt yet” but there was only 6 at that time (and currently) so, if several=7, and we already know six, we’re missing one. And if you count the rainbow (+indigo and violet) we’re only missing orange. So the orange side must be the final one. It also doesn’t help that blue and orange are complimentary colors. My personal theory is that Orange is rage & aggression, and his main goal is to make sure Thomas and the others don't suppress him/their anger, because that can lead to very bad things

Which would also explain why he got to Logan first, because Logan suppresses his emotions (more specifically anger) more than any other side

Yes, we know Patton suppresses his emotions too, but he's suppressing sadness, not anger, which is why Orange never got to him

Virgil is also suppressing a different emotion, I'm still not 100% sure what, but it's clear to be less aggressive than rage

Roman is suppressing sadness and loneliness, still not anger

Janus is not really suppressing anything, as far as I can tell

And Remus is a whole 'nother theory

But that leaves us with Logan, who's suppressing his anger over not being listened to. This is why we only saw Orange "interact" with Logan, because Logan is what's fueling Orange right now.

Pitch Manor Progress (which is sort of like Six Sentence Sunday but also not)

It's still Sunday for five more minutes, here. SO....

Okay, I haven't written anything on the Haunting of Simon Snow in awhile. But I have been working on my floor plan for Pitch Manor, which is more than tangentially related to the potential progress of that fic. And today's a rough one for me, so I'm going to post about it like it's progress so I might feel a tad better. Ahem.

OKAY. SO. I've been working on a floor plan for Pitch Manor for... pretty much forever and a day. I ran into trouble when I was writing chapter 2 of Haunting and Simon (Construction Worker!Simon) began to describe the house. I realized... I had no idea what he was describing.

(Warning, there is a long winded geeky ramble ahead. It's just how I do things. Ahem.)

What was supposed to be a quick "let's find a floor plan that I can just copy with some minor adjustments" project has since turned into my special interest project. As a history nerd, that means a lot of research, looking at dozens of floor plans for other houses ranging in origination from the 16th century to the 20th (and probably a few older than even that, since a ton of religious buildings were repurposed into estates. Think Downton *Abbey*.)

But this past week, I feel I've really pushed through a lot of the issues I kept running into. (I've ridiculously been trying to make it as true to the descriptions in Carry On as possible, and something that fits the purposes of my fic, which of course I have envisioned in many, sometimes incompatible, ways.) I've had to make some "this or that, you can't have both" choices, but I'm finally happy with the basic shape and layout.

Whew.

Just for funsies, here's a cross section snippet of my floor plan WIP. It's pretty messy still, but I'm still excited LOL

And (finally), instead of six sentences, I will instead offer you all six tidbits of information about Pitch Manor, as I've envisioned it:

There are four (4!) different sitting rooms. Because the aristocracy just loved their sitting rooms. (Parlor, Withdrawing room, Drawing room, and Reception/Receiving room.)

There is a ballroom. Try and stop me.

The original manor house was built in the 17th century, and has been refurbished and updated a few times.

The most extensive refurbishment happened in the 19th century, which is how it gained its current stylings. (Baz is a freaking troll and I love him for it. The most popular architectural style in the Victorian era was "Gothic Revival." "It's not Gothic; it's Victorian." Hah.)

Some rooms were added on during the Victorian refurbishment, including a Smoking room. They were very popular at that time.

The largest room in the house isn't the ballroom. It's the library. (It's two stories. Try and stop me.)

(I do hope to release the floorplans into the fandom wild after they're complete, in case anyone else wants to make use of them.)

I want to ramble more. But it's almost midnight. Sooo.... Gratitude and hellos under the cut!

Can you blame them though? They lost their coven, like it was wiped out completely, so of course they don't want to loose their mate next

I think that anxiety mostly comes from that fear of loosing you, they don't trust anyone but each other and you

So when you have friends they will watch you will hawks

These short kings wont leave your side the first couple of meet ups you have with your friends

Once you convince them (which will take a while) they promise to watch from a distance and give you a bit of freedom

Even if they promise to stay at a safe distance they are still constantly worried about your safety

But even to get to that point of giving you distance, it will take them a while, they grown so attached to you and you the same, so the idea of you 'leaving' to go out with friends is something that leaves them with worry

Ah!, yes!, Sam x Kinito exists!, there is also polyamory between Sam and Kinito and Jade! Idk.. I could never pick between Sam x Jade and Kinito x Sam, and since I am polyamorous myself (hehe self inserting stuff into my own projects tm, I have 2 girlfriends, because, omnisexual, hi, also I am a woman myself, technically) I decided, why not make all of them in love? Also, to answer about Sam and Jade's designs, I am not sure what I want to do for their designs.. So! Astral has a set of ear wings! I don’t Know what to properly call them but it’s some fairly large set of articulate wings on his head above where his normal ears are (tho his normal ears are like elf ones so…)

He can move them! He usually has them cover his eyes, but on occasion his mouth as well! It’s not too too rare to see beneath them, though it’s usually for intimidation since his dead stare is a little scary + giant scar over one eye that remains a mystery to this day :0!

When they were closer, early city age, late dark age, it was commonplace for either Osiris or Saint to help with taking care of his eye area as regardless of the scar, it is a rather sensitive place for him, as well as the false eye he wears, now a day though Astral sticks by himself when it comes to ‘looking after’ himself

I have a hard time explaining shit but I'll try anyway, does anyone have tips on how to make a "connection" between one scene to another while writing? Cause like, in shows/movies, the screen just goes black usually, then the next scene that sometimes has nothing to do with the last comes, sometimes they're in a new place or focusing on another character or another part of a different storyline and it all still makes sense, (sometimes.).. But there's no black screen while you're writing/reading, I can imagine it in my head but that's not how it works if I have the intention of posting that fic... So, if that actually makes any sense, can anyone help?

Hi!! I deduced from you asking about Liam and Sam that you must be a new-ish critter and I wanted to welcome you to the fandom, and also come infodump to you if that’s ok!! Sam and Liam ARE platonic soulmates! In fact they love each other so much it helped start Critical Role!

They used to have a podcast together called All Work No Play where they would go hang out together and come back and talk about how much fun they had. It was literally just an excuse to hang out more cause they were so busy with their jobs and kids. One thing they planned to do for AWNP was play a D&D oneshot for Liam’s birthday, DMed by their mutual friend Matt Mercer. And that game was the very first Vox Machina home game!

You can still find the episode of AWNP where they talk about planning the game (and Liam helps Sam come up with his character: a gnome bard who is “just the worst”) and the next episode where they’re excitedly talking about how good the game was and they wanna play more.

So yes, you’re correct in sensing chemistry between Sam and Liam. They’re so close it’s a running joke that they’re married and in love. Their love and want to hang out with each other helped create Critical Role :)

Hi! I am a new-ish critter!

I knew of them when I tried to watch, and be a part of, Geek and Sundry back when the channel started (BIG fan of Felicia Day). I didn't watch Critical Role because I was big into tabletop gaming at the time, and not at all into role playing. Got 2nd hand embarrassment and thought I was "too cool" for it. Yeah, I woke up from that LOL

Was a fan of Ashley Johnson before I saw her on the channel, and became a big fan of Sam, the "goofy, really cute dude" as I knew him because I didn't know his name.

Cut to me getting a job, Felicia leaving the channel, Zac creating Hyper RPG and getting involved in Power Rangers. Hyperforce was my first ever role playing experience. The 2nd hand embarrassment was STRONG but I toughed it out because the story was real interesting and I wanted to enjoy this world. Low and behold, that cured my stigma against role playing!

Cut, once again, to following people on Tumblr who happened to be in the Critical Role fandom, The Legend of Vox Machina coming out, my love for "the goofy, really cute dude" reemerging. I'm pretty sure that's how it all went.

ANYWAY I started watching Campaign 2 back in October/November '23 and I'm in love with all of it! The cast, the characters, the story, the game. I bought so much dice. Well not so much, but for someone who doesn't play games of any kind anymore, that's a lot of dice.

ANYWAY ONCE AGAIN! You didn't ask for my journey into this, but here it is. And thank you, and everyone for that matter, for answering this, an my other questions, and just being so nice!

What do you think of Armand and Marius's reunion at the end of Blood Communion? Armand opens his heart back up to Marius according to the text. It felt as if Rice was reconnecting both Lestat/Louis and Marius/Armand in that novel.

I'm sorry if this sounds invasive. I don't like so-called ship wars because these vampires are polyamorous in nature but why do so many Devil's Minion's fans here write about Armand and Daniel as if they are endgame when it doesn't exactly seem so? It seems many ignore the contents of Blood Communion.

Anon, I love that it seems Armand's heart is no longer shut against Marius! Armand thought he had lost him which is bound to make anyone take stock, and I really hope that's the catalyst of them healing their relationship and coming to an understanding. I am rooting for them!! And I think Daniel is also rooting for them, paying mediator and translator as needed, and wanting them to settle things so they can all be happy and cuddle on the couch together.

I do think BC2 was Anne trying to reconnect Louis and Lestat and bring everyone to a place of like... We're Getting Along Now and Court is A Happy Place and Everyone Is Fine. There's Marius and Armand, plus Armand and Lestat share that look at the end seems to imply they've come to a better understanding or at least are going to try.

You don't sound invasive and I sure hope I didn't sound like I was trying to encourage any ship fighting because I am not about that life. If I had my way, they'd all hang out together all the time like one big polycule on a giant sectional sofa at TG watching movies and having make outs. Eternity is a long time, you're not going to get everything from one person. Armand also loves Louis deeply, and we know he loves Lestat. Obviously he loves Marius! I don't think Daniel can be or wants to be everything to Armand, and while I think some jealousy is fun for delicious drama, I don't think it's the ruling factor in most of their relationships, either.

Now the big question: Why do Devil's Minion fans write about Armand and Daniel as if they're endgame? I mean, by virtue of being DM fans, we are heavily invested in their relationship. A/D are my OTP and while that's not true for all DM fans, gun to my head if I had to pick one couple who earned their happy ending, I'd say it's them. They had a rough road. Daniel getting The Blood was beautiful moment of victory and Armand seemed so happy with him in QotD, despite any misgivings he may have had. It's great!

And then... stuff falls apart but we only get tidbits for the rest of the series. We know they split, we know Armand almost died, we know Daniel went mad, and then we know they come back together in PL and go hunting. We know they shack up in PLROA and plan to go back to Trinity Gate together. We're given crumbs but the trail does lead to them getting that happy ending after all.

I don't think anything in BC2 discounts that. Daniel isn't mentioned at all so we don't know where he is but we also don't get any indication that things went south between Armand and Daniel since they left for TG. Armand's love for Marius and Lestat and Louis doesn't change his love for Daniel. He loves all of them desperately and that's why he's so intent on trying to help protect them and so frustrated that he is often dismissed at Court.

So I can't speak for all DM fans but I don't think the intention of us taking that happy ending and holding it tight is meant to dismiss or discount those other relationships. We're just very happy we got anything given how little of them we got in the latter half of the series.

Hmmm. Well, I tend to wear a lot of green and black. But my sona, who is a lizard/sea slug yokai, tends to prefer purple, tan, and a dark aquamarine. So, I think a vivid yellow-gold or a dark aqua like her outfit would be nice.

7. Favorite really obscure character

Really obscure, huh? I had to look up what she was, but that fish lady in the 2003 iteration from Atlantis always fascinated me for some reason.

23. If you could have a TMNT crossover with ANY other series, which would it be?

Hehe, I do love a good crossover. Personally, I think I'd like either 2012 or Rise to get the crossover. As for the other series, are we talking tv shows, games, comics? 'Cuz a Legend of Zelda (TOTK in particular) would be cool (Dude! Demon Dragon vs. Light Dragon Duo and the Rise team would be sick!). And I've seen really good things from an ATLA/Rise crossover.

Slightly more obscure but no less fascinating. A Summertime Render crossover. Could the Shadows access the Rise gang's mystic powers?! Even the 2012 team would be a big issue as Shadows! You know what? Let's go with that! Summertime Render X TMNT crossover. I suppose the question for that becomes how does their presence affect the timelines? The concept of running out of time and people is heavily prevalent. Obviously Ushio and Hizuru are the original powerhouses, add four capable fighters (probably the 2012 gang for power balances' sake) who could be copied and result in ninja Shadows with enhanced speed/strength/endurance. But also giving Shinpei extra backup and a variety of skills to meet the deadline.

See what happened?! Now I've got a brain worm of an idea that won't leave me alone for a bit! Anyhoo, thanks for the ask! And yo, if anyone wants to try that crossover idea, I'd love to see it!

Sam and Sky

Skylar first met Sam through Victor after he invited them to hang out at the Saloon on Friday.

They walked into the game room, saw Seb and walked straight out because they had an awful first meeting with Seb that involved spilling a bowl of pumpkin soup all over his hoodie and him giving Skylar a glare that still gives them chills.

While quietly relaying this to Vic, Sam snuck up behind them and dragged them over to the pool table where they quickly learned that between Sam's pool technique and Skylar's math skills, they're still not even close to beating Seb. It is closer than when Sam tries it alone though, so he asks Skylar to start meeting up with him after work on Wednesdays to train with him.

Eventually Sam starts talking to Sky about his band and the two of them start hanging out more often. Sam catches feelings first, but felt like Victor and Sky had a thing going on so he eventually asked Victor about it. Victor of course is horrible at keeping secrets and immediately told Skylar about it because he felt like they'd make a cute couple.

Skylar then proceeded to become increasingly more awkward around Sam because they like Sam a lot and it's not like they're against the idea of dating him, but their aromantic ass just can't generate the feelings they think they're supposed to have so they're hesitant about it because they're worried it's unfair to date him if they don't feel the same way.

Victor convinces them to talk to Sam about it, but they never find the right time to bring it up until Sam asks them out directly. They panic pretty badly and end up kind of running away from Sam, only to come back the next day with a bouquet with the pollen picked and washed off. After a long conversation,  Sam accepts it and they spend the day watching videos and cuddling.

Sky and Lance

Skylar heard about Lance from other adventurers in the guild (mostly Drake and Jolyne) long before they ever met him. They also read a good majority of the books he'd written from Victor's library although they didn't realize it. (They referenced one once when the two were on an expedition and got really embarrassed when they realized he was the author.) 

They started to bond more over their love of monster research as Lance found Skylar's ability to pacify and befriend some of the monsters incredibly helpful to his studies. Their combat ability by the time they met had greatly improved as well, making them a good choice to compliment his own ranged fighting style. 

They also started to spend more time together once Lance offered to help teach them more combat magic. He was impressed by their quick learning, but their aim makes him wonder if he's made a mistake sometimes.

Overall the two of them respect each other greatly, and Skylar's companionship and small acts of kindness like bringing meals to the outpost for the adventurers on duty make him grow rather affectionate towards them, but since he knows they're in a relationship with Sam he keeps his feelings to himself.

Sam and Lance

Sam and Skylar had already been living together for about a year, so Sam was a little shocked to open the door one day to find the spiky, pink haired adventurer on their doorstep looking for Skylar. The action was nothing new, people visited Skylar often, but he'd never seen this guy before.

And after Lance gave Skylar his schedule Sam didn't see Lance again for a while. Skylar had started talking about him more frequently of course as they started working together more often when it came to the guild which made him a little jealous at first.

Unfortunately for Lance, Skylar would also talk about Sam and Victor just as often to him. As much as he wanted to break the "work" barrier and establish a friendlier relationship he didn't know how to make it known, nor did he wish to risk pushing his boundaries knowing Sky already had a partner.

The two met again properly after Skylar and Lance had gotten closer. He invited them up to the Highlands with him and came by to pick them up, but they were still busy doing their farm chores so he made incredibly awkward small talk with Sam in the meantime.

Over Lance's many visits they two started to get more comfortable around one another and the stories Skylar would tell about the other began to result in a mutual respect for each other, which evolved into admiration for each other's skills and abilities, which evolved into adoration for one another the more they interacted.

Lance found himself spending his rare amounts of freetime with the two of them along with Seb, Abby, and Victor some days. They taught him to play Solarian Chronicles and there is a great moment of pride when it looks like they're going to lose the boss fight and Lance in the most serious tone declares he has no options left but one, and successfully seduces the monster.

Sam approached Lance about learning how to fight after Skylar got wounded in the Badlands. It wasn't bad. They'd learned to handle themselves fairly well by the time Camilla allowed them to go there, but Sam still felt anxious about it. Lance protected Skylar all the time. He wanted to be able to do so as well, not that he'd be following Skylar around any time soon. It was just in case of an emergency.

Lance's first instinct was to tell Sam to seek out Marlon's assistance in the matter. He was the local legend after all and would surely be of far more assistance given his availability, but Sam insisted he wanted Lance to teach him, especially because he doesn't actually want to go anywhere near the mines and was half afraid Marlon would do what he did with Skylar and hand him a rusty sword and send him in as a test.

So Lance agreed to teach him the basics. During their first lesson Sam complained about learning nothing but footwork which resulted in Lance declaring that if Sam could beat him in a duel, they could move on to the next lesson.

Of course, Lance knocked Sam on his ass in less than two seconds flat declaring that he won as he held Sam at swordpoint which gave Sam a big gay crush that kept him from focusing for the rest of the lesson.

After Sam started to grow more confident in his abilities he wrote a song for Lance as a thank you which Lance often found himself humming while he trained or was out doing research.

Eventually the two decided that Sam was kind of hopeless when it came to sword fighting but he was really good with a slingshot from all his practice for the fair, so they switched focus to target practice instead with Lance still encouraging training in melee combat from time to time.

Sam/Lance/Skylar

With Lance spending more time in the Valley with Sam and Skylar spending their weekends in the Highlands with him the three of them became really close, with the couple often inviting Lance to stay for dinner or offering the living room to crash in if he was too weary to to travel back to the guild.

Over time the farmhouse starts to have more and more signs of Lance's presence. Research notes he and Skylar took in the Highlands. A second fridge for monster crops and other magical plants. Half drawn maps and sketches of dungeons and monsters yet to be fully studied. Potions and elixirs as well as ingredients and empty vials stored in chests by the kitchen, manuscript drafts scattered over the living room table.

It's not that he intends to be messy, but when he gets invested in his research it helps to have it all in view and the farmhouse provides more space than the guild. It becomes a common sight to see Lance pouring over his research with a pen tucked behind one ear and hands covered in charcoal as he works on his drawings and Sam working on his latest song or commission with a pencil between his teeth. Sometimes on their more lax days, Sam even teaches Lance to play some of his instruments. 

It takes the rest of the day to explain the concept of polyamory to them, and Skylar becomes just as awkward around Lance as they were with Sam for the next few days, but after spending the weekend fighting by his side they figured that romantic or not they enjoyed Lance's company and they would be happy to try being partners with him too if he was willing to make the commitment (much to Sam's glee upon their return.) And the two spent the next week trying to figure out the right way to bring it up to Lance.

It was a Thursday. Lance had just left for Ginger Island, and Sam was helping with the animals when he suggested to Skylar that they (Sam and Sky) should ask Lance out on a date. Skylar laughed at first thinking it was nothing more than a joke until they realized Sam was being serious. Dating one person was already confusing enough most of the time, having a second partner was beyond baffling and their response to Sam was a genuine, "Is that allowed?"

Sam was the one who asked Lance out much to Lance's confusion, (Not that the concept was foreign to him by my headcanons, Sam was just bad at getting his point across and Skylar was too busy standing mute in the background being too shy and embarrassed to help elaborate) but Lance eventually figures out what's going on and is happy to agree to a date.
