people being like "well if people don't like ttpd it's because they don't know the lore" is making me mad because first of all art should stand on its own without you needing to know all the details of the artist's public narrative to Get It and second of all i DO know the lore and i still think it sucks. so where do we go from here.

And by that, I mean spending the year (or, time as needed) delving into Etta James' discography. I think I would love it, because I keep hearing songs I didn't realize were by Etta James and then realizing they're by her and going "Oh my GOD, WAIT, I LOVE THIS SONG" so like...there's gotta be more songs by her that I love like that, too.

#are there any Etta James fans here? have any recommendations beyond her first few albums (which I do still need to listen to)?#oh and besides 'Tell Mama' because that's the one album by her that I've heard in full so far (and I liked it a lot). :D
