dehradun days
you meet them for the first time,
knowing it's probably the last.
might as well make the most of this time,
since life comes at you fast.
you find the strangest of signals
in the no-network zones.
cross-tent communication with folks,
just rambling about the unknown.
there's the warmth of shared laughter,
that carries you through freezing nights,
and you look up at the flickering stars,
to finally see things in a different light.
and at 11,000 ft above sea level
you finally reach the peak,
just to realise the joy was in the journey,
and the friends you made that week.
you'll visit caves & splendid cafes,
and remember the city in mere parts,
but years later, you'll still tell everyone,
how dehradun captured your heart.

At a certain age–usually around puberty–people get what is known as The Thoughts of a Lover in their head. It’s a terrible name really, but it’s what philosophers from Roman time decided to call it. Those Romans were clearly very passionate people.
It was meant to signify that somewhere in the world someone was connected to your spiritual essence. It was the will of the universe, knowing exactly what it was doing when it created humans. They knew their creations needed to be procreated somehow, so what better way to do that than by making a destined person for you personally.
Times changed, of course, people didn’t feel the need to fall in love with their destined person much. They realized that while there would always be someone there who was like their other half, people knew that they had free will. It wasn’t common though, to go about without finding your destined soulmate. The universe knew what it was doing every time it pulled apart a soul to place down on Earth.
Sometimes though, the universe would pull it apart more than once.
The myth goes; the creators pull apart a soul to create two and then toss them into a bucket. Another creator then grabs one and throws it down to earth. Every few years or so, there can be a creator who forgets they had already split a soul apart and ends up doing it again. Thus creating more than one soulmate.
Multiple soulmates were rare, but not unheard of. The most a soul was considered to be pulled apart was 4 times with a total of 5 soulmates. And that was at millennia ago. Now, at most, someone had four soulmates.
You had considered yourself special when you had turned 14 and suddenly heard not one but two voices in your head. Their random thoughts often surprised you but still somehow brought a smile to your face to know they were real and out there for you to find.
You were the kind of person who believed in destiny and staying with your soulmate. It was a bit intimidating to know that you had two–worry frequently creeped into your head when you thought about how you could possibly manage the two, but if their souls were just a separation from yours, you knew they too were meant to be together.
The day you met your own soulmates was the day you went to their concert. You attended their soundcheck and tried to get them to notice you from the floor. The universe, however, only allowed certain thoughts that didn’t involve speaking to them directly to pass through the bond. So you had to speak as though you weren’t actually talking to them.
Yunho had been the one to spot you first after you had started to think about rock, paper, scissors and play it out with him. They were overjoyed at the discovery, getting you to meet them at their hotel, where you spent the night with them.
It hadn’t been that long ago, only four months having passed since then. It gave you time to get your life together for when the boys would come back. There was a lot of texting and calling over the phone, which left you happy enough. All three of you would always express how much you miss each other, but it wouldn’t be long before you saw them again.
You had been going over some assignments, Yunho on the phone telling you all about their concert of the night. You would laugh at the things he would tell you, enjoying his voice over the speakerphone. As you began to type out some response to an email, one of the boy’s thoughts drifted over to your head.
I wonder if her thighs are soft. They felt soft last time. Mingi’s voice resounded.
Your eyebrows furrowed as you looked over at your phone. “Where’s Mingi?” You asked Yunho.
“He’s in the shower.” The man answered you.
You hummed to yourself, looking over at your computer screen.
I want to be smothered in them. Really I do. His thoughts once again penetrated your mind.
You shut your laptop closed, picking up your phone and moving from the computer. You felt a shiver go down your spine as dirty images seemed to pop up in your head. Your eyes went wide, making quick work to reach your bedroom and lay down.
“Angel, are you okay?” Yunho asked, shuffling around in the hotel room.
“Yeah. I’m fine.” You told him, sitting on your bed.
“Mingi!” You heard Yunho shout. “Hurry up.”
“Don’t lie to me. I saw them too.” The man sighed over the phone.
An unbearing heat crept over your body, your muscles twitching at the revelation Yunho had just told you. Of course, he had heard Mingi too.
“It’s nothing I’m not used to.” You told him quietly.
Yunho snorted. “I’m realizing how terrible that must have been. We’re so sorry you had to witness those things.” He laughed.
“I mean, I had needs too. You weren’t the only one I would assume.” You giggled.
“You are in fact right. Choi Minho? I see.” Yunho laughed out loud.
“Yunho!” Your face turned hot.
You fell back onto your bed, phone pressed to your ear. As you heard Mingi step out of the shower and get scolded by Yunho, the only thing that was brought to your mind was the amount of times you would scold yourself for thinking filthy things, knowing your soulmates were probably seeing them as well.
Was Mingi really thinking about me that way? You asked yourself.
You subconsciously began to rub at your thighs, lightly skimming your fingers over the tops of them and up to your hips. The shirt you wore to bed raised up with your hands, allowing the air in the room to cool your skin.
They are in fact soft. Thank you for noticing. You giggled in your head.
Just as your fingers were about to slip under your panties to touch your hip bone, Yunho called out for you over the phone.
“Angel?” He spoke quietly.
“Yes?” You spoke quickly, dropping your hand from your hips and sitting up.
“Everything okay over there?” He asked breathlessly.
“Yes. I’m fine.” You moved along the bed, wanting to get comfortable.
“We beg to differ.” Mingi’s voice was heard over the phone, closer to the speaker.
“Don’t stop on our account.” He told you.
Your eyebrows furrowed. “Finish what?”
“Angel, we saw everything.” Yunho laughed. He took a deep breath, speaking closer to the phone in a breathless whisper. “What else you want to think about? We want to see more.”
Your breath got caught in your throat, huffing out air, which made the boys sigh as they heard you. You sighed deeply, suddenly thinking about how the boys might be waiting for your response on the other end. Their excited wide eyes, mouth hung open at the imagines you could be sending them.
You took one glance at your phone before quickly taking off your shirt. You had always enjoyed the feeling of something brushing along your skin. So your soft fingers drifting over your torso and legs only made you think about all the things that you wanted the boys to see.
You thought about their own hands drifting along your skin. Yunho’s hands softly glide over your rib cage and past the slope of your breasts–skipping over your nipples. His nails would lightly scratch you, causing shivers to wrack through your body. His touch would burn trails as he went along, leaving your skin cold the more he traveled further down your body.
Mingi would use his entire palm, giving a message of sorts. He would allow his palm to grip over your neck, not knowing how to be light with his touches. His warm hand would allow itself to settle over one of your breasts, rolling your nipple over between his fingers. He would be mesmerized by it, mouth wide open as he thought about taking it into his mouth.
“Please let me.” You opened your eyes at Mingi’s whimper.
You gasped, having forgotten they were on the phone listening in. Your hand had drifted down to feel rub at your hips, the band snapping back as you pulled your hand out.
“Mingi?” You questioned, pulling the phone closer.
“Please. Can I suck on your tits?” He moaned out, huffing into the mic of the phone.
“Mingi.” Yunho whined, shuffling on the other side. “Come here.”
You could only think about the older boy pulling Mingi into his arms, softly rubbing at his back to calm him down.
“Please, Mingi.” You huffed.
You closed your eyes when all of a sudden the image of Mingi’s hot mouth on your breast filled your head. The boy was suckling softly, allowing his mouth to fill with your skin. One of his hands would squeeze at it, messaging. He moved it towards the valley between them, gripping onto the other one. Your back arched, blissful sighs slipping past your mouth.
Your fingers moved in between your thighs, finally slipping further down. You dug your fingers further, knees jerking when they felt the warm, wet skin. You withered on the bed, a moan slipping out and into the phone at your side.
“Angel,” Yunho breathed out. “Are you touching yourself?” He asked you quietly.
You could hear Mingi’s whimpers on the other end, wondering what it was they were doing.
“Angel, I’m speaking to you.” Yunho growled quietly.
Mingi’s cry made you flinch, but you answered Yunho anyway. “Yes.” You whispered.
“I would hope so.” He chuckled. “Keep going. Mingi wants more.”
“What about you?” You asked quietly.
“You think I’m not enjoying myself? I have to keep my pretty babies happy first.”
Your breath got caught in your throat from the way he was speaking. It was clear he was someone who took charge of things. He knew how to talk to people and get them to do what he wanted. And if you weren’t about to listen, you would force yourself to.
Your head began to come up with scenarios where you were at Yunho’s mercy, Mingi going along with it all. He would move to the end of the bed, kneeled between your legs as Mingi kept your breasts in his mouth but turned, so he could watch Yunho.
The image was wiped out as Yunho’s thoughts quickly overpowered your own. You moaned out loudly when Yunho was suddenly leaned down between your thighs, face pressed tightly to your core. His large hands held your hips down tightly, keeping you from moving too much. You could only imagine what his tongue must have felt like in real life.
Your hips bucked up as your fingers moved faster. You withered on the bed, clenching the muscles in your thighs as you panted over the image. Mingi cried out again, hearing your whimpered moan.
“Yunho.” He cried out, rutting his hips into the older man’s hand.
You whined along with him, wanting to know what it was they were up to. “Please, tell me what you’re doing.”
Instead, you only got an image. Mingi was sprawled out on top of Yunho, while the older bot moved his hand up and down on Mingi’s shaft. Mingi was a moaning mess, allowing himself to submit to Yunho’s grasps. He kept rutting his hips up and down, cheek pressed to Yunho’s chest.
You moaned out again, finally reaching where you needed the most attention. You could feel the wetness that was slowly seeping out, rubbing it around to add more slick to your clit.
You flinched, whimpering from the stimulation.
“Doll, please. I want more.” Mingi huffed.
“You heard him, Angel.” Yunho chuckled, squeezing at the man’s base.
You allowed yourself to fall prey to the thoughts of being filled by them. The moment you allowed your fingers to slip into your hole, was the moment you started to think about Yunho pounding into you.
He had taken your ankles in his hands, holding your legs up as his mouth hung open from the feeling of your walls tightening around him. Mingi was holding your face as his lips moved over yours, fingers pressing into your neck. You had your hand wrapped around him, giving him pumps every once in a while.
Mingi suddenly let out a loud moan when your thoughts came into his head. Yunho laughed, rutting his hips into Mingi’s torso that was covering him. At the man’s movements, Mingi was quick to move down and place Yunho’s tip into his mouth. This caused the man to grunt.
“Angel, you're so good.” Yunho huffed, patting Mingi’s head as he spoke to you over the phone. “You’re such a good boy.” He turned to Mingi, dragging his fingers through the boy's hair.
Yunho allowed the image to be engraved into his head, giving you a sneak peek at what was going on. Mingi had his nose pressed to Yunho’s hips, cheeks hollowed out. His head bobbed up and down, hands jerking off the parts that were out of his mouth.
You cried out, causing Yunho to laugh. “Be a good girl, keep sending us your dirty thoughts.”
With the image of Mingi over Yunho’s cock, you began to think about how they could do that with you there. Your first deduction would be you on top of Mingi, moving your hips up and down along his shaft, causing him to whine out from the pressure. He would be loud, or at least try to be.
Yunho was over him, rutting his hips into the boy’s mouth. He would have Mingi’s head hanging off the edge of the bed, enjoying the view of you swiveling your hips. As Yunho would hold back, he moans and grunts, his hand reaching over to your clit, moving his fingers quickly.
You cried out, head falling back as your nails scraped against Mingi’s chest. With Yunho’s fingers stimulating you and Mingi’s cock hitting that perfect spot every time, you found yourself quickly reaching the point of no return.
Just as the “you” in your vision reached her climax, you cried out into the phone, legs tightening up from the stimulation. Yunho let out a loud groan, shoving his hips deeper into Mingi’s mouth from hearing you climax.
“Come here, sweet boy.” He quickly pulled Mingi up to his knees, leaning down to suck Mingi off.
The boy was already overstimulated, so it didn’t take long for him to cum with a cry. You moaned loudly along with him, whining at the sound that came from his throat. Yunho swiped his tongue along his lip, licking up the mess. As he leaned back into the pillow, Mingi was quick to take Yunho again, wanting him to reach his orgasm as well.
Yunho didn’t hold back this time, using Mingi’s mouth as he pleased. He held the boy’s head down, trying to reach his high, just as you and Mingi had. His eyes rolled to the back of his head when a new image turned up.
Both you and Mingi leaned over his cock, tongues swiping over the length of it. You both looked up at him with glossy eyes, waiting for him to cum. It was when he saw you both open your mouths that his eyes closed and he shoved Mingi’s head down.
His loud moan made you twitch from over stimulation, having continued touching yourself until you knew they both had come. You clenched your legs, fingers keeping still inside yourself. You could feel the throb going through your cunt, which only made you hum at the sensation.
“Angel, are you okay?” Yunho asked you from the phone.
“Is Mingi okay?” You asked back.
Yunho looked down at the boy who had licked his lips cleaned as he had, slumped over to the side as he cuddled into Yunho. The older man laughed lightly, rubbing fingers through Mingi’s hair.
“He’s perfect.” He told you.
“Then I’m perfect, too.” You lazily smiled.
“A month until we go home.” Yunho told you.
Your eyes were drifting shut, as your body tried to come down from the high you had experienced. “I can’t wait to see you.” You softly told him.
“We can’t either.”

chapter one
Today is the big day. My best friend is marrying the love of his life. It's a pity that this means I will lose mine. But in today's world, feelings are not taken into consideration. In a world where upon meeting the person you are destined to love, you gain what we call the bond of predestined lovers. This bond allows you to connect deeply with the feelings of the person you are linked to and can hurt you if they get hurt. Unfortunately, this bond ends up becoming deadly for those who choose to keep it. To break the connection, you need to undergo a painful detachment, removing the mark given by destiny that led you to your soulmate. This mark, imprinted on the soul, must be removed through a ritual. It's not scientific, it just happened.
My grandma used to say a witch cursed our nation with a spell where you'll be bound to the person you despise the most, even if you fall in love with someone else. Meanwhile, my mother believes some scientist altered people's DNA to create perfect pairs. In the world, there are several theories about the reasons that brought us to where we are now, but no one knows how to reverse it. While this helps people not to be alone, there are those who fall in love regardless of the soul bond, and others who would prefer not to get hurt or die with the person they love.
My case fits into those who, despite fearing the consequences of breaking the bond, ended up falling in love with someone who is not their soulmate. Actually, I have no idea if getting to know the person linked to me would improve or worsen my situation. When I was in college, I met my best friend, Kim Taehyung. He was already a senior student, and I was just a naive freshman. At first, it was difficult to strike up a conversation with him because he is an extremely attractive person. And even though nowadays I see that he is more introverted than extroverted, at that time, everyone was talking about him. Him and the group of friends he had. We started talking when I had difficulties in a subject he was tutoring. Since then, he has been my right-hand man, always lifting me up when needed or giving me a reality check. About a year ago, the moment I dreaded the most happened. He found his better half. She's so kind and truly perfect for him. Basically, she is everything I can't be for him.
And now they are getting married. To each other. And they will live a modern happily ever after while I watch from the sidelines.Or that's what I thought was going to happen. Until I met him. Jeon Jungkook, or Mr. Charming Smile and Perfect Hair. Jungkook was standing next to Taehyung while I was checking if everything was right for the ceremony. He is Taehyung's best friend who spent some time living abroad. They have known each other since childhood. And I think he might be... my other half. Otherwise, there's no explanation for the fact that we both passed out together before the bride walked down the aisle. Fate must be playing a trick on me.

“Like so many of the stories that we’ve done, many many different elements came together to create a script. Mehndi was one of them and it’s something that I was a little aware of. I’ve done a little bit of reading on it. Not a lot. I believe Rob was the one who came to me, however, and said ‘Wow, this is fascinating’, ‘this is, you know, really great, what can you do with this?’
I had already wanted to grab a hold of the reincarnation idea and there are a few elements that fuelled this. One I’m going to have to reference is a song by Paul Williams, which was in The Muppet Movie. And there was a line in this one song that I felt, and I’d always felt this way, described the two characters perfectly. The line was ‘there’s not a word yet for old friends who have just met’. And I thought you know something? They are old friends. They just met. But they’re old friends. So in my mind throughout history and throughout destiny, these two characters’ souls have existed and have met, parted ways, met, intertwined, parted ways. And that fit in perfectly with the reincarnation theory but what was important for these two characters is that those two souls have throughout history intertwined, they’ve come together, they’ve parted ways, they’ve come together again, they’ve intertwined, they’ve parted ways. This has happened continuously and every time it happens in their lifetimes, they recognize each other. Not like ‘oh, you’re Xena, oh, I’m Gabrielle’. No no, they say ‘I know you. I know you and I have to be with you. I don’t know why but I do’.
Now bringing the Mehndi into it. Mehndi was perfect symbolism to this because when you think about it, Mehndi, um, if you’ve done it and if you’ve read up on what Mehndi means, it’s not just drawing. Mehndi has an entire meaning behind it. There’s a whole philosophy and spirituality based on Mehndi. The simplest part of it was the fact that Mehndi has a lot of lines that run parallel to each other and they will intersect, they will form beautiful designs, then they will part again and run parallel. Well, that’s lives. Xena and Gabrielle - those are the lives. Those are the threads of their lives. They run parallel to each other, they intersect, form beautiful designs. Then they might part but they still run parallel to each other. And what really counts is what’s between those lines. There’s the title; ‘Between The Lines’.”
Half the reason why they ended up taking the soulmates motif so seriously and literally was due to Steven L. Sears and his reincarnation idea and understanding of Xena and Gabrielle’s soulmate connection. So, in my view, half the reason why the love story is so damn profound is because of him.
Now he would be the first to scoff at that and say that I’m giving him far too much credit. But that is exactly why he is amazing and deserves that much credit.
‘Between The Lines’ took the relationship between Xena and Gabrielle to a whole other level because we do learn that they actually are true to life soulmates and all of what that informed and involved for them as individual characters as well as together as a couple. And so everything leading up to this episode now felt so much more intense and deep and poignant.
Substantial. And I wouldn’t have been able to write my character study thesis without it. Even though I don’t directly mention it - it’s sort of just embedded within the insightful interpretation that I’ve made about it because this episode doesn’t just tell a one-time storyline about the characters. It essentially informs EVERYTHING about them. Who they are and why - and especially how they are such a great team that navigate their soulmate connection to be just that.
It’s like these two people who seemed to be total strangers until this episode was seen were actually destined to meet and travel together and fall in love because their very soul that they shared fated it so.
And by the gods - I have yet to see or know a relationship that is that damn EPIC on-screen.
Xena and Gabrielle are the WLW representation you expect to be provided - considered canon or not - because this level of storytelling between female characters that can be interpreted as romantic just doesn’t happen anymore. There’s no time or room for it to in the TV art/entertainment industry apparently.

Benson Boone’s new album has a few Jeric songs on it. I will explain.
Beautiful Things: Jack has OCD (at least a lot of signs point to it) and of course that means getting in his own head about having everything good (eric, shawn, his friends). He might self destruct, but he would die if he would lose it all over again.
Forever and A Day: This song is the both of them to each other. The first part of the song is Eric.
“No words convey the way it felt for me to finally hold you.” Eric spent 15 years without the man he thought of as his soulmate after almost getting him back in 2000. The moment he got it, he clearly wasn’t going to let it go. I wish we got so much more of them in Girl.
The next part is Jack.
“Know every word you’re gonna say before you even think it. But somehow every joke you make is funnier each time around. Your laugh is such a perfect sound.” Now, it’s no surprise that Eric is a goofy man and this may have been Matt Lawrence + Will Friedle, but Jack laughed at Eric’s jokes more than people give him credit for. Even when serious, Jack never discouraged Eric’s funny quips (we ignore a LOT of season 7. all of them got weird.)
“I swear I’ve known you longer than forever and a day.” These two clicked right away and were besties. Upon meeting, they’re the same person and never stay away from each other for too long when there isn’t an obstacle in front of them.
“How could I forget those eyes? They took me by surprise, but suddenly I missed your face. I knew that smile from miles away.” Now…them meeting again as adults. As soon as they saw each other, they clicked again.
“I don’t believe in destiny…your melodies they’re changing me. I’m yours forever and a day.” Eric makes Jack a better person. Jack even admitted that multiple times. Eric is his person and always will be.
There (He) Goes: This one is another Jack to Eric song. Personally, I believe it’s Older Jack coming back to Eric. And Eric taking him back in like they never separated.
“…You’re my only ghost, come on, haunt me, cause I’m lonely. I’ve been gone too many days and it starts to feel the same; every morning. I don’t recognize this place. Is it me or have I changed?” Jack was a new person when he came back to Eric. Gave into his greed over the years and let it take over him.
“There (he) goes. Like I’ve never been alone. Like I’ve had it all along. Every time I go away I hate that it’s a day that I never see your face.” Once Jack has Eric back, you KNOW it’s hard for him to leave again. Leaving to even get his stuff to move would be hard because it means being away from Eric once again.
“So, i pack my bags. I’m takin off. I’m comin home.” Jack goes back for Eric. You know, he knew he wasn’t leaving once he came to Eric. He could trick himself, but the moment he packed up for the trip, Eric was his destination.
“Out of the blue, (He) comes around. (He) turned my world upside down.” Jack made a name for himself in that company and Eric flipped it all around.
BONUS:
To Love Someone: This one is Eric realizing he loves Jack two different times.
“Brand new apartment, we sat on the floor. A blow up mattress and some plastic forks. Our clothes on the counter, keys in the door. You’re all I ever wanted never been so sure.” I mean…come on. New apartment together. Them bonding and Eric falling in love.
“Suddenly nothing is the way it was. Is this what it’s like to love someone?” When Jack saw Eric was more than his roommate, it changed everything between them. They got closer. Went on dates. Everything.
“Empty apartment I’m sat on the floor. A blow up mattress and a plastic fork. Fighting the flashbacks that creep through the door. I stare at the ceiling and try to ignore.” You can take this one as either Eric moving out when Rachel moves in or when Jack leaves with Rachel for the Peace Corps.
“Chances are we’re gonna tell ourselves this is how it’s supposed to be. And chances are this isn’t the last time I’ll dance with your memory.” Eric thinks about Jack every day and vice versa. Can’t tell me different.
Now the ‘suddenly nothing is the way it was’ changes. Eric and Jack are no longer in each other’s lives. It’s not the way it was. There’s no late night TV watching. Nothing about their lives together because Jack is gone.

do you think colby believes in soulmates and divine love?
i know someone else also answered this ask before, but i'll do it anyway bc i like this topic haha
yes, colby does believe in true love and soulmates and all that stuff.
colby said in his q&a back in 2019 that he does believe in true love and soulmates. he's probably mentioned it before in other videos, but that's the one that i remember off the top of my head.
and now, here is a small collection of tweets he has made about love/fate/soulmate-esque:
July 4, 2016 - A hopeless romantic at heart
Aug. 11, 2018 - i will love you till the day i decay
Oct. 11, 2018 - it’s rare to find people who can handle your soul just right. hold on to those people
Nov. 4, 2018 - timing is everything, and i just wish we didn’t miss our moment
Jan. 6, 2019 - i never knew you could miss someone you’ve never met
July 11, 2019 - everything will come full circle sooner or later. law of attraction
May 9, 2020 - who wanna share a paopu fruit ?
fan: Wtf is that
other fan: It’s a fruit from kingdom hearts. The legend says if you share it with someone, then your destinies become intertwined. You both remain in eachothers lives forever.
forever
May 23, 2020 - i don't get why you keep hiding from me if we're destined to meet
March 10, 2021 - maybe i just knew i had to wait for you
Aug. 13, 2021 - waitin for that one to help me find my peace of mind

Wanweird with Skyeward, please?
So this prompt rang a bell, and I checked, and apparently I already did this prompt for Skyeward exactly seven years ago. Like, to the day. So let me just reshare that one, because, hey, it's fun to revisit your seven years old writing, isn't it? XD

Wanweird - An unhappy fate.
Jemma used to think that sharing a room with Skye would be fun – like those sleepovers she missed out on as a child. But now, rooming with her in this nondescript motel while their world was crumbling around them was… awkward.
Jemma tried to pretend she didn’t see Skye cry as she came out of the bathroom. Skye tried to pretend she wasn’t crying when she wished Jemma good night and turned off the lamp.
Neither of them was fooled.
In the darkness of the room, as she lay on her back, staring at the ceiling motionless, Jemma could hear her friend’s soft sniffles, then a quiet “Jemma?”
“Yes?” she answered, turning her head towards Skye’s bed. She could barely make out the younger woman’s silhouette.
“Do you believe in fate?”
There were at least a thousand things Jemma wanted to say on the topic – probability theory, metaphysical approach, scientific refutation, scientific proof… But she had a feeling Skye didn’t want to hear any of it.
“Yes,” she answered instead. “Why?”
Another sniff in the darkness.
“It’s stupid, but… there was a moment, a moment somewhere around the time he arrived at Providence when I actually thought… When I actually thought that we were destined to be together. That we were made for each other. And I wanted to believe it – oh, God, I so wanted to believe it!”
Jemma didn’t need to ask who Skye was referring to – Ward.
She took her time to answer.
“Maybe you were,” she said, staring at the ceiling again. “I mean… If destiny does exists… And there are people who are fated to meet and fall in love… Who says that their story needs to have a happy ending?”
Skye was silent after that for a long time.
“Maybe you are right,” she said at last, then blew her nose. “Still… I wish we got a different ending.” The springs of her mattress creaked, and Jemma knew Skye had turned to the other side, her back now facing her. The conversation was over.
Still, she spoke after a minute. “Skye?”
“Yes?”
“Who says this is the end of the story?”

"I'm Sorry"
"Starling" snippet ( 406 words)
A now edited/rewritten snippet of a scene that tickled my brain a while back. Dedicated to @rogue-kenobi who kindly said they'd go through my posts about Rae'n and made me be like wait fuck I've posted barely anything about Rae'n 😅 and then I remembered I had a snippet with her and Astraea that I updated so here is the updated version haha (sorry this is all from Astraea's POV I'll have to write something just for Rae'n soon!) ***
Astraea froze as Rae'n lifted her hand to her face, fingers barely inches from brushing Astraea’s cheek. Astraea itched to lean those few inches, that felt more like miles now, to close the space between them.
But it would do nothing to close the emotional distance that had been growing between the two of them since their knighting and the beginning of this accursed war.
So close but not close enough she thought as Rae'n said two words to her, one off from the phrase she had been hoping for. Then the other woman retracted her hand and swept out the door behind her, leaving Astraea more alone than ever.
“I'm sorry.”
The only explanation Astraea got after years of friendship deeper than the Jedi Council would've liked. As Astraea stared at the door from which her friend escaped she couldn't help but think of the words left unsaid between them.
The three words she had been hoping to hear but never had the courage to say. Maybe if she hadn't been a coward, maybe if she had managed to speak up, maybe if things were different they would've never ended up here. Or maybe this was where things were always destined to end.
Destiny, the force, there were endless names for it. When Astraea was freed as a child she had believed wholeheartedly that it must've been destiny. How else would Anakin have stumbled across her on that forsaken planet before deciding to save her life.
"Trust in the force it will guide you," the Council had always said. But destiny had done nothing but laugh in her face since the moment Astraea was born. And this seemed to be its coup de grace.
The moment seemed to play over and over again in her mind on repeat when she lost one of the most important people in her life. Her brain picking apart details of the moment as if she had not suffered enough. Rae'n’s eyes purposefully lowered as if too ashamed to meet Astraea’s gaze head on.
As if something as small as the change in color could change how much Astraea loved her—loves her.
I love you.
The three words she had been holding onto since the first time Rae'n smiled at her unguarded. And all she received in return was a useless apology. As if Astraea wouldn't have much rather kept the other woman instead, dull golden eyes and all.

Hey Lys, I'd like to give my two cents on what you said to fs/celeb crush anon because I have THOUGHTS on the way I see a lot of people treat the whole fs concept.
Sometimes it feels like people think about their FS kind of like an arranged marriage: the universe you put this random person in your life and you'll have no choice but to marry them because destiny has chosen it for you. And like, things are not like that at all. Your FS is your FS because you chose them.
You have agency in your life and your FS is simply someone future you thought would be nice to spend their lifes with. If I say that one year from now you'll have waffles for dinner it isn't because destiny will take away all the food in your pantry and waffles will be your only option, but simply because a year from now future you will be like "well I'm kinda craving waffles today" fir whatever reason and choose to eat it.
And, like you said, if it's someone you chose to be with it's because you like their traits, and if you like their traits it's only natural that you'll like other people that seem to have those same traits.
Sorry for ranting in your ask box, I just really feel like we should shift the way we treat this topic.
Agree with you generally BUT let me specify a few things too. I as well say that we're always in charge of our life and destiny, and it can change anytime, anyday, exactly cause we grow according on what we experience, the people we meet, the things we do and learn step by step. But so does everyone around us (not even rocks stay the same all the time, e.g. rain erodes them).
The "destined person/fs" is an energy that may resonate with you at the time of the reading, and it has traits that you are trying to attract in your life at that moment, be it cause of a lesson or as a treat (or traits that you find attractive in that moment of your life). Psychologically speaking, it's not uncommon for us to fall for people that also have traits we find attractive cause of our own hidden traumas (even when we're not aware of them): celebs crushes are the best example for people who have insecurities and abandonment issues, js. Ofc, it doesn't have to be so for everyone: as mentioned in the other ask and by you up here, it's also a matter of recognizing what we like in a person (maybe also confronting our tastes with those of other fans).
Anyway. As I also said, it is not impossible to have a (past life?) connection with someone, or to have a soulmate (not a random person). And okay, you don't have to end up marrying them (cause of free choice being always a chance as you mentioned, cause we're in charge of our life, and cause we cannot predict every single detail that will happen in the future), but it's a soul that somehow, you are supposed to end up meeting. At least at a certain moment of your life (reading time-wise: again, your choices may even change that; but i believe there's a soul for each one of us that we need to meet no matter what. Not sure abt the reason, so don't come at me telling me it's FS. It could be, but it could just be a lesson). This (not the lesson) is what I am talking about when channeling FS readings and when I speak about your "destined person": someone that, as everyone else in this life, experiences things, grows, and who is not supposed to have a fixed energy through their whole life (exactly as you change, and changes what you like or not, they do too. And this change in them may even correspond with you changing your likes and learning lessons through your life, and viceversa. It may not be for everyone, okay, but it could be. And ofc a lot has to say timing in this change and meeting: we may find the right person but something may be off, and it could even be for a reason too - e.g. the lesson above).
Now, this said, people these days are feeling lonely and lost, and because of this, they need to believe that they will meet this person, that they're destined to them and nobody else. That this person is just for them: it may be a toxic view caused by traumas (we have no idea how minds work sometimes), but is it that wrong to believe in this dream of having someone just for them? As long as it helps them feel good and stay hopeful, I don't see anything bad in it. Also cause it could really be the case, as stated above: I am not sure of anything when it comes to 5d, I only believe in fate, and I cannot know everyone's fate. If something has to be, it will be. If someone has a contract with another soul and they won't decide to break it (for any reason)... there's nothing I can say. I'm with you when you say many on here are taking this FS topic a bit too far and treat it as an obsession, but let's also consider the external factors of life nowadays (and also that many minors are here: darlings I'm not saying you're naive or anything bad, quite the opposite). Life is tough, we all have different problems, we heal and sometimes crawl through life, and we need to believe that something good is ahead, we need to believe that it's waiting for us, especially love (of any type: we're humans, we historically live to have relationships). As long as people learn to dream about their person and still balance this dream with living their present life the best they can, taking courage to go out and about and be present, and creating themselves occasions to get in touch with actual people and learn from these real relationships (also about themselves not just others), let's let them. We'll all likely find the FS of our dreams (or almost) this way.

asks for you! :D have 📓☄️💗 for whoever you want to give some extra spotlight to! @kerra-and-company
Ooo ok thanks for the ask had to think a little on this one
☄️Does your OC believe in fate and destiny or do they think it’s a load of garbage? Would they ever get this fortune told? What would a fortune-teller tell them about their future?
Link definitely believes in fate a little at least in a fun or romantic way, but I think he does fear the idea that Fate/Destiny is real in a life way.
Like yeah sure wouldn’t that be nice if I was destined to meet a lover or a friend that sounds fun. But the idea of a fate you can’t escape, a path for your life that has already been carved out? He’s terrified of that.
I think some of that fear is tied to his strange connection with the dream, a connection he was born without, but eventually started getting flashes of. The fragments he sees of his dream are horrible, something most no one would want, if he remembers it will it catch up to him?
Anyways I think he would definitely go to a fortune teller, and it would be one of those scenes where he goes up to the (probably making some of this stuff up) fortune teller who then upon looking in their crystal ball, or at his palm, or in some cards is like. “I see something crazy, a glorious and shining path you were made for, a destiny to change the world!” And he just cuts them off like: “Oh I don’t want to hear about that kind of future, see anything about my romantic future?” :)
💗 Relationships? Who are their friends, their family relations, lover(s), foes? What sort of personalities really tick them off and what others do they like? Is there anything that’d ruin a friendship for them?
Rococcus is a fairly amicable person, so he’s made a few friends in his time.
He made friends with other saplings who emerged at a similar time to him like Fachna who became a mentor/mender.
He became friends with most of his fellow soldiers in the Vigil, especially Delwyn who had been in the vigil a few more years then him and kind of took him under their wing. Of course a lot of these vigil friends are now uhh….gone.
Rococcus hasn’t had much in the way of romance, though it’s no secret on my blog that later on he forms a relationship with Link. It definitely takes him a little while to figure that kind of stuff out though since he’s pretty solidly demisexual and got hit by the truck of attraction once he formed a bit of a connection with him.
Rococcus is too nice to really have any actual enemies, other than just like generally bad people who hurt others.
Personality wise, he’s very trusting so I think he likes people who are honest and upfront with him about things, as well as people who are a bit more outgoing than him since it’s a little hard for him to come out of his own shell.
Dislikes wise similarly I’d say people who take advantage of his trusting nature/kindness, people who will lie to him to make him do things that he wouldn’t have otherwise. If you betrayed his trust in a really serious way I think that would end his friendship with you.
📓 Write a typical diary/journal page by your OC! (or if you’d rather not, describe their journal. Do they keep one, why?)
(I put this one last because I think it's the longest)
14th of Phoenix, 1328 AE.
The risen have become docile now that their general is gone, but the area still reeks of corruption.  I’m doing my best to cleanse it as you would, though sometimes I worry my cleansing is just corruption in another form.
I was never good at making things anew, not like you were. As always my skill lies more with destruction, but even that skill is waning.
I thought the risen would be easier to fell once they no longer fought back, and I was right in some ways. But now when I go to end their suffering, it feels…different. Every time I cut one down I feel a stronger connection to death. I almost feel like I am becoming death.   When I hold that blade to their heads my mind conjures the images of Grenth found in these ruins, I feel like I understand why he was depicted in this way.
I know the risen no longer have a real consciousness, they are simply minions to a greater lord now gone. But despite my efforts to remind myself of that I will still feel this strange sadness.
Perhaps they remind me of you, when I last saw you. Corrupted, in pain, begging for an end. And I feel this powerlessness as I did before, I can’t change what happened to them just like I couldn’t stop what happened to you.
If only I was taken instead, I was already useless then. If you were still there you could’ve led everyone, less lives would’ve been lost.
If only I realized what was happening sooner, that the dark voice in the back of my mind was something different than what I knew. If I thought about it, if I noticed what it was, then maybe none of these lives would’ve been lost.
But the past can’t be changed, a lesson I myself have taught many times, is now a lesson I must teach myself. No matter how many times I wish it was different, wish you were here, it will stay the same.
I miss you brother,
Damia.

History, Race & Racism
I know the topic of race is taboo these days. There's a narrative being taught that seems to villainize anyone who deviates from it. But I'll risk it.
I want to say up front, I do not believe any one race is superior to another and I don't believe any race is less capable of achievement than another.
I believe in EQUAL opportunity for everyone. Traditionally, opportunity in America started with education and work. I think we've come a long way as a nation where it's unlawful for educational institutions and employers to discriminate against individuals based on race, ethnicity, disability, etc. Perhaps there is still an element of discrimination taking place when selecting candidates for education and employment. but I can't say that I know of specific examples.
Now this is an observation and not a judgment. I see some races being underrepresented in colleges and in the workplace. I know there's a push for diversity in different settings in the form of Affirmative Action. There are different arguments on this issue that I don't want hash out here.
Like others, I would like to see more cultural diversity in educational and professional settings. But we should be more realistic in our tactics to achieve this goal.
Starting with higher education since it's a link to the workforce. Why don't we see a larger presence of some ethnicities in the classroom? While the sociologists out there will create an argument for this based on history and socioeconomics, I'd like to point out that America was founded on the notion that individuals are in control of their own destiny. Our system was designed to afford opportunities to everyone and anyone willing to work regardless of where they start out in life. So those born into poverty could potentially move up and improve their situation.
Setting aside this particular argument, let's explore other reasons for why there's a lack of some ethnicities furthering their education and not pursuing employment. I suspect that if you surveyed college admission offices and employers throughout the country you would hear that various ethnic groups simply aren't applying in high volume. After all, the colleges can only admit those apply right? And employers can only hire those who apply? The alternative being that they are blatantly turning away applicants based on their race. If we are to assume that certain ethnic groups aren't applying to colleges or work, then we have to ask - why is that?
I'm not any more certain than anyone else when it comes to explaining why more people aren't pursuing the opportunities before them. But my rationale stems from something called the "self-fulfilling prophecy". In my experience, I have sat in trainings, meetings and in classes where presenters promoted the notion that if you are a person of color then you will be treated differently by anyone in a position of power (i.e., college admissions and employers). The message was so strong that I could see how someone could develop a self-defeating attitude and give up before ever trying. As a society we seem to think it's somehow helping someone by telling them that no matter what they do, they are destined to struggle and not make any advancements in life.
I find this to be distasteful to say the least. America was built by many races of people, each of whom struggled to assimilate and gain acceptance. But one theme that is consistent in history and across cultures is that those willing to work through obstacles can be successful. Thurgood Marshall is my favorite human rights activist and one of my favorite people in history. He grew up in a time where African Americans were denied an education, yet he persevered and got his law degrees in a time when the odds were stacked against him. One of the biggest forms of oppression that occurred in America, came in the form of denying people the right to an education. The political powers then, knew that education was the key to opportunity and by withholding education, they could oppress segments of the population long past the days of slavery.
To make my long-winded point short - I can't go to members of a community and drag them from their homes and force them to get educated. I can't make anyone go to work. I can't live anyone's life for them. I truly wish I could inspire others to apply themselves and maximize their efforts to improve their lives and make a worthwhile contribution to their community. I think everyone owes it the generations that came before them to make the most of the opportunities that are accessible to them today as our ancestors fought to give us options they did not have.
Again, I think we should take a closer look at the messages we send people.

Why Loki’s Sylvie Is A Mary Sue
So I am firmly in the camp that Sylvie on the Loki series was/is a Mary Sue.  The last episode made me feel better and like maybe the show was doing a thing where they were faking you out that she was a Mary Sue only to show she was actually sort of a bad guy and I liked that.  But all the recent interviews make me think the show wants to go back to her being a Mary Sue.
But I feel like when I call her out for being a Mary Sue people tell me what are you talking about, she’s not a Mary Sue, bad things happen to her, etc.  But that doesn’t actually make her not a Mary Sue.
Also, before we start, I know some people find Mary Sue sexist.  But I personally use the term for guys and girls. I don’t use the term to belittle women.  I use the term to criticize a poorly written character.
And I know Mary Sue is often used to describe fanfic characters.  But to me, this series is kind of like a fanfic because the writers took a character who had been in canon MCU material for ten years and then created characters around that character.  So, I kind of review it like I would a fanfic.  It’s very different than if the writers had created a brand new show with all of their own new characters.
Anyway, if you are not totally familiar with the Mary Sue term, then check this out:
I know the term Mary Sue probably means different things to different people.  But I have always used these guidelines when I write my own fanfic to make sure my characters never come off as a Mary Sue.
This article really gives you a full scale of what a Mary Sue is.  If you start reading it, you’ll immediately see why Sylvie is.  But I’m going to take out the parts that most fit Sylvie just to highlight why I believe she is a Mary Sue.  I apologize for this being so long.
Mary Sue Character Traits
Personality
Erm... what personality? The typical Mary Sue doesn't have one per se, because she isn't meant to be a character; rather, she's an entity by which the author makes cool stuff happen.
I feel like that is Sylvie in a nutshell.  She doesn’t have a personality.  I feel like even though she ate screentime, I still don’t really know her at all.  The writers love to say she’s badass.  That’s not a personality.
Sometimes when I am writing stories for fun and creating new characters, I like to take surveys as my fictional characters.  Like the kind of surveys you’d see in a magazine, like personality types, what’s your dating style, etc.  I figure if I don’t know what my character would do in any of those situations, then I need to keep working on my character.  And if I was trying to fill out a survey pretending I was Sylvie I would have no idea what to answer because she doesn’t have a personality.  She’s just “cool”.
What little personality a Mary Sue has isn't as important as how other characters react to it. No matter how shy or socially awkward Mary Sue is supposed to be, other characters will be inexplicably drawn to her
This is so Sylvie.  Loki falls in love with her...why, exactly?  He falls in love with her in the big Nexus event moment...why?  Because she had a tough childhood?  Mobius spends like two seconds with her in a car and goes from hating her to saying she’s his favorite Loki.  For. No. Particular. Reason.
She's extremely persuasive; everyone finds her opinions to be better than their own
She enchants Hunter B-15 and then immediately Hunter B-15 makes it her whole entire life mission to back Sylvie up.
And occasionally she'll be a complete asshole...This can manifest itself in several ways...The author wants to write a badass but doesn't know how. This leads to a character who mistreats everyone around her and is never called out on her abrasive, casually abusive behavior.
Sylvie talked down to Loki and treated him like garbage for all of episode three, but it was never portrayed as a bad thing and we never got any impression Sylvie later felt bad for the way she treated Loki
The author doesn't know how to hold back the character, meaning that she will succeed at practically everything. This means that when she encounters rules or authority figures who would otherwise prevent her from doing what she wants to do, she rolls right through them (and they praise her for her "boldness" in defying regulations). If a bad guy is violent and aggressive, she can beat him by being more violent and aggressive (with all that entails). It's impossible for her to go overboard because she's protected by Protagonist-Centered Morality.
Sylvie is shown as a kid to immediately be able to grab a Tempad and run away.  And she can kick ass way better than Loki, for no known reason.  She is always able to fight back against the TVA when they attack her.  And she can kill lots of innocent TVA agents but it’s okay because TVA bad, Sylvie good.
Skills
She will always be superior to the canon characters, regardless of what canon has established they can do or whether it makes any sense.
Whose skill was needed to defeat Alioth?  Sylvie’s.  Of course.  Sylvie needed to teach Loki her skills in order for him to succeed (!).  And again, she is literally called the superior Loki.
Relatedly, there's no effort to her skills. She never actually trains or learns anything to become more powerful; she just wins the Super Power Lottery, or is a freakish natural learner, or is just Inexplicably Awesome
We’re told Sylvie literally taught herself magic.  She literally taught herself to enchant people.  That. Makes. No. Sense.  Like, I have so many questions.  Like, why would it even occur to her to teach herself that?  And how????????????  This is really lazy writing.
Canon Character Relationships
Mary Sue is often designed to hook up with another character, often as a form of Wish Fulfillment. This isn't that bad in and of itself (okay, it is kinda weird), but Mary Sue accomplishes this without any sense of realism. She just grabs her lover's attention straight away, and their relationship will never face any obstacles or tension; it's true love from the start and nothing else. The biggest giveaway is if the love interest is explicitly the author's favorite character, and she essentially "cures" him of all the angst that ails him (at the expense of his characterization).
Yeah, so...this one should be pretty obvious to anyone who watched the show.  Loki literally falls in love with Sylvie immediately, and then he suddenly turns from “villain” to “hero” just because of loving her.  And this was definitely at the expense of his characterization.  And Loki just knows he falls in love with her.  There’s not even any moments of hmm what do I feel for this person?  It’s just true love, immediately.
She will be related to a canon character in some way. This (marginally) helps explain such phenomena as her being a Copy Cat Sue and other characters accepting her so easily.
Sylvie is a Loki variant.  They use this to help explain why Loki is drawn to her and why their falling in love immediately “makes sense”.
Most characters give her more heed than they normally would. The good guys never stop praising her
Seriously, it was so over the top and OOC for Loki to gush over her.  He literally tells her she’s amazing.  They don’t even make it subtle.
Characters' previously established personalities change in reaction to her. Proud, arrogant gimps suddenly acknowledge her superiority in everything. Reckless youths will listen to all her advice. Responsible leaders will defer to her instead. Villains will obsess with her to the detriment of all else. Extremely competent characters will become stumbling buffoons who require her help to do anything. Sweet, mild-mannered characters whom the author doesn't like turn evil and insult her. They all become unnaturally focused on her in some way.
Again, Loki’s whole personality changed in reaction to her.  He became a buffoon who needed her help to enchant the Alioth because of course he couldn’t do anything without her!  Hunter B-15 goes from doing whatever the TVA said to fighting the TVA just because of Sylvie.
Story Elements
Mary Sue is without exception a single-person Spotlight-Stealing Squad. The entire story hinges on her existence; if you removed her, there would be no story.
Sylvie undoubtedly drove the whole story this season.  It all became about HER meeting the TVA heads because of HER trauma.  Loki’s life was only saved at the beginning because the TVA was trying to capture HER.  And SHE was the one who started the whole multiverse (!).
Mary Sue is The Chosen One, even if the setting already has one. There are many ways she can accomplish this: she can be a Sailor Earth type who "shares" the position with the canon hero; she may be vaguely "destined to help the destined one fulfill their destiny" (i.e. do all the work except the final blow so that the prophecy is still technically correct); or the canon hero may be revealed to be a Fake Ultimate Hero all along. Being the Chosen One doesn't necessarily involve her being a God-Mode Sue, especially as authors become aware of the phenomenon and try to avoid it, but it does make her critically important to the world and allows her to continue stealing the spotlight without the "god mode" label.
HWR wanted Sylvie to come with Loki in the end, like she was chosen all along right alongside Loki.  Like one of the most important characters in the entire MCU is now this character who we only met a few episodes ago.
Most Sues have an unusually Dark and Troubled Past. It's often used to create a Sympathetic Sue, but any type of Sue can have one
They tell us, over and over, how hard Sylvie’s life was because she was kidnapped by the TVA in order to create sympathy for her.
She almost never does anything wrong. In the rare instance that she does, it's usually; (a) a way for the author to disclaim her being a Mary Sue by introducing a single imperfection (that has no bearing on anything anyway), and (b) designed to show her smarts by making her feel instant remorse, and she'll be Easily Forgiven anyway:
So this one hopefully will not come true, as a lot can change between now and when the show is taped. But if the show goes on the way the behind the scenes team is talking, Sylvie immediately felt remorse for betraying Loki, and Loki has already forgiven her and is desperately looking for her.  Ugh.
Alternatively, she is more than capable of doing something wrong, be it in general moral terms or something that goes against whatever code she abides by, and she maybe even frequently does so, but don't expect the other characters or the narrative to ever acknowledge or comment on it in any real capacity. If the other characters do call her out, expect them to be treated like they're the problem for daring to criticize her at all.
Mobius calls her out for killing people, but Sylvie immediately says he’s a bad person and then Mobius agrees, because, of course.
She will often suffer from Special Snowflake Syndrome; i.e., she has a trait or backstory that sets her apart from her group or race.
She is the only female Loki, thus making her the special one among all the Lokis in episode five.
Presentation
In visual media, the camera just can't stop staring at her.
The camera would follow her in fight scenes rather than Loki.
Mary Sue Tropes
Okay, so there are specific Mary Sue tropes that Sylvie is.  One of those is Copy Cat Sue, which I think was referenced before.
Copy Cat Sue
A lot of fanfic writers...start to write something because of their passion for this character, but they find something about the character that doesn't mesh well. Maybe they're the wrong gender or are otherwise not close enough to the author's expectations...In any case, rather than put them through the Possession Sue process, they just get a Clone-O-Matic™ and out pops a Copy Cat Sue...the character might be intended as a replacement for the canon character, but without whatever icky traits the author hates. They'll then rob the spotlight, prove the canon character to be unworthy of his/her position, and either relegate the character to obsolescence or, perhaps, even remove them entirely.
Sylvie is basically a clone of Loki, she is a variant.  But she absolutely robbed the spotlight of Loki’s, and they literally call her the superior Loki.  I mean, they are literally not even being subtle about this.  And there was a feeling by myself (and a lot of other viewers) that Sylvie might ultimately replace Loki in the MCU.
Black Hole Sue
Much like a black hole, this is a Mary Sue who "sucks in" the plot and characters to her. Characters will behave outside their personalities, logic will be defied, and rules will be broken for her sake.
Sylvie really does suck up all the plot and Loki definitely behaves outside of his personality just to fit the Sylvie show.
Jerk Sue
A Mary Sue who is mean or maybe even cruel, but are still treated as an ideal person.
Once again, Sylvie is basically a jerk all of episode three, but you’ve got Loki falling over himself to call her amazing in just the next episode.
Relationship Sue
A Mary Sue who exists to be the perfect mate for a specific character...this character has everything in the plot conspiring to enforce this One True Pairing...in Fanfiction, they are the perfect beloved of a canon character.
They literally have Mobius speculate that Loki falling in love with Sylvie is so extraordinary that it causes an entire Nexus event, that’s how huge this One True Pairing is (!).  And Sylvie is the love interest of Loki, the only character who had been around before the beginning of the series
TLDR: Sylvie has all the tropes of a classic Mary Sue character.  So calling Sylvie a Mary Sue isn’t being sexist or just randomly hating on the character.  If you use common Mary Sue characteristics to examine the character, she just has too many of these characteristics to ignore.

You believed that soulmates are for the hopeless romantics, for those who were feeble enough to believe that there will be someone out there for you in the world, connected to your soul and all the shenanigans.
What a pile of shit.
As someone who had lived a normal life, hardly anyone would expect your way of thinking. Instead of unicorns, you believed in money. Instead of songs and happiness, you believed in the harsh world. Instead of soulmates, you believed in betrayal and hurt.
Why?
Just because.
“A new student in the middle of the year?”
“Do you think he was kicked out?”
“He does look like it.”
Scoffing at your classmates and rolling your eyes to yourself, you internally sigh at how you were tired about the way people are, in general, that is. You’ve had friends, yes, but it doesn’t erase the fact that each and every one of them—of all of you are a bunch of idiots. Humans… no matter how trivial it is, are natural-born sinners, destined to make mistakes and be “bad.”
You didn’t give a particular care towards the new student. In fact, you didn’t even notice him sit beside you just because the chair beside you was empty for a very long time. You only did notice him when you felt his presence and almost did a double take when you felt his side touch yours at how much you were leaning on your armchair. You recoiled immediately, only enough to get away from his warmth.
It only seemed like you were leaning back, but to you, it was almost like an instinct.
Along with your silent hate for humanity, you seem to have a lot of trust issues, and it shows to everyone else, even your inner circle. You trust someone to a certain extent, but way less than “normal” people would.
Others would think everything about your feelings were of a certain situation or so, but really there’s nothing more to it. It was merely your opinion, and your family nor past friends had no inclination to any of it.
It was innate in you.
Your eyes just caught it, barely a glimpse in hopes to ease the boredom from listening to the teacher, not that you have a care to any of their life story. It’s not your fault that they’re storytelling instead of actually teaching.
However, when you saw the tattoo that hides itself beneath the sleeve from the boy behind you, you were appalled. Not at the fact that he bore such a thing despite most schools restricting it, but it’s at the way it was designed, maybe—most likely. I mean, you did stare at it to the point you’d have to tear your eyes away, hoping your new seatmate did not catch you.
It was a peaceful afternoon, with the freedom of being outside during breaks and no one else to bother you since your friends had something to do, you were merely walking around, no goal in mind. That is, until you’ve spotted the same tattoo you ogled at minutes from now, its owner standing beside the school garden, beholding the flowers and all the beautiful things in the world that you wished no one would taint.
It was ironic, actually—the sight in front of you.
He has a tough posture, one that you can tell was as distrusting as you are, not immediately letting people in just because they want to. And yet, here he was, staring at nature. After all, not many of those with such a tough exterior would just stand there, watching at the beauty of flowers and butterflies.
Curiosity got the best of you, you admit. It was what you were thinking of as you step towards the said boy, assuming he would merely brush you off and think that you were also there to watch the view.
You were wrong.
“If you’re just here to ask me how I got here in the middle of the school year, then go away.”
Your eyes tear away from his mostly hidden tattoo for the upteenth time when you heard his voice, capturing your attention almost as instant as it dropped to your ears.
For some reason, he sounded familiar.
He turns to you, and it was then that you realized you’ve never fully looked at the boy earlier. Which was why you must have felt your breath shift by the time you met his eyes.
Are golden eyes considered normal? Maybe it was a play of the light? Of the sun?
Whatever it was… it was beautiful, and it took your breath away.
Before you could think of anything else, you forced yourself to look away, lips pursed before opening to reply.
“I’m more inclined to ask you why you have a tattoo more than that, idiot.” You didn’t mean to be harsh, but the tone mostly referred to yourself, actually. You felt threatened at why you were reacting this way over a certain person, and you didn’t know if you truly should be.
Soulmates… love… crushes… pathetic.
They’re all pathetic.
Right?
He eyes you, you could feel it. But there were no hostility in him anymore, not much earlier. He must have been pissed at those who’ve had the courage to question him enough to rid him of his privacy.
If you could sigh, you would have.
He looks away, but not a second after, he was speaking again, which was a surprise.
“What about it?” Well, even if it was kind of short.
“I think-“ you cut yourself, thinking if this was worth it. Why are you even talking to him? It’s not like-
“I think it’s pretty.” What? “Even if I haven’t seen it fully… I think it kind of suits well with you, I guess.”
He scoffs, well not really that kind of scoff. More like the kind that he couldn’t believe what he was hearing… and you’d say it was a mutual feeling as well.
Your eyes went back to his form when he suddenly raised the sleeve that was on his tattooed arm, just until it reached where it could. You instantly took the chance of a lifetime and trace the lines of curves with your gaze, somehow entranced at its uniqueness and-
“What is it?”
“What?”
“The pattern. What is it?” You looked at his eyes and this time, it was him who faltered, looking away almost immediately. He hesitated, you could sense, but he still answered your question.
“I don’t know… I saw it in a dream and-that’s it. It’s none of your busine-“ his eyes widened and you could tell yours too, because you subconsciously reach out and touch his arm, and you’ve never felt more ashamed than any moment in your life than this.
What the hell is wrong with you?
Why are you so at-
Before you could even pull away and finish the thought, a sudden burst of scenes flashed in your mind, scenes that you’ve never seen before—not in this lifetime, that is.
Not even a second passed and there were tears in your eyes, conscious or not, you knew it was from the “memories” that seem to have flooded your mind like water had drenched you from top to bottom, leaving you out there cold and lonely.
But when you looked into his eyes, you knew you weren’t.
“Xiao.”
And everything you believed in… you realized it was because of him. Him who hated humans, him who never knew what love meant until he met you.
History repeated itself, but now, it gave you more time, much more than it did the last time.
You did not expect it, but you think you just met your soulmate.

Let’s talk: Serendipity with a side of 4 O’Clock and other guest appearances
by Admin 1 and 2
We’ve been meaning to write a analysis/theory/discussion on Serendipity for the longest time, especially after I once mentioned in a previous post how I think the song can be interpreted in a way that works for both vmin and namjin. So, while I’ll add my thoughts in regard to the latter, the vmin portion is more based on conclusions and thoughts Admin 2 arrived at. I think their idea presents a perspective I haven’t really seen anywhere else before yet, so I think it’ll hopefully be interesting.
As with any song analysis/discussion/theories, this only represents some of our interpretations which don’t have to be right and no one is meant to take this as gospel. Art is subjective and while we all listen to the same song, read the same lyrics, our understanding and thoughts may/will vary, so you might not agree with any of what we say and you are not obliged to do so. This is just meant as a discussion, some pondering, and perhaps we can discover something along the way that we haven’t considered yet.
With that being said, let’s get into it.
Tumblr media
Additional preface: this post will work off of the assumption that both vmin and namjin have romantic feelings for each other and/or are together. If this isn’t an angel you’re interested in reading about, this likely isn’t the post for you. Furthermore, if you’d prefer to put on your delulu hat for the duration of this post, please take a moment to put it on now. Enjoy!
All lyric translations are from doolset.
Serendipity is the opening song on Love Yourself: Her, the first album of the Love Yourself trilogy, and was released September 18th 2017. Of all the members, Namjoon is the only one credited as lyricist on it along with four other people (two outsiders, Slow Rabbit and Bang PD). Based on that we can say that Namjoon definitely had a big influence of the content of the lyrics and the story they tell so analyzing the song in the context of Namjoon makes sense. But at the same time the song is Jimin’s solo so I don’t think it is that farfetched to think that he kept Jimin in mind when writing the lyrics, and judging by how attached vmin, and especially Tae, seem to be to this song, thinking that there might be more to it than just the fact that it’s Jimin’s solo, again, seems like a sensible conclusion to arrive at. In 2020 Tae even used a moment where he recommended Serendipity (as part of the digital Map of the Soul ON:E Exhibition which, by the way, opened on Jimin’s birthday) in order to wish Jimin a happy birthday.
Tumblr media
Serendipity /ˌsɛr(ə)nˈdɪpɪti/ as: the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way.
Looking at the meaning of the title and the big focus on the concept of destiny displayed in the lyrics, I think it makes a lot of sense in the context of Bangtan. The members themselves have spoken about how it was meant to be them, these seven men, and just think about how many different factors had to work in their favor for them to end up not only as trainees for BigHit but also as members of BTS. If Seokjin hadn’t gotten on that specific bus and gotten off on that station the BigHit staff might’ve never seen him and approached him, if Tae hadn’t gone with his friend to the audition and hadn’t gotten talked into auditioning himself, he wouldn't even be an idol at all, and if Jimin’s dance teacher hadn’t encouraged him to audition he wouldn’t have come as trainee to Seoul either. And if one of the BigHit producers hadn’t seen Namjoon, hadn’t shown him to Bang PD, BTS wouldn’t have been created at all. As the lyrics themselves say:
이 모든 건 우연이 아냐 All this is not a coincidence
Timeline wise we think Serendipity is about two different moments in time depending if you look at vmin or namjin. For the latter I’d say it’s about the beginning of their relationship which, if namjinists are right in our thoughts and theories, would put this sometime 2013. Meanwhile for vmin, Admin 2 actually thinks it would be 2016, more specifically the time of the dumpling incident, so before FIRE was released. This also leads us to the main idea that Admin 2 arrived at and thought of, being that Serendipity and 4 O’Clock tell two sides to the same story, as in Tae in 4 O’Clock is the one waiting for the other person, who describes the moment in time and the feelings he had when that person came to meet him. Meanwhile Jimin is the one who came to meet him, who asks him to love him, who cried because of his feelings and who’s telling him about those feelings and thoughts (as displayed by the sentiments of Serendipity). Namjoon also wrote both, and he knew as many details of the incident as Tae was willing to share with him which, seeing how filled with emotion and deep the lyrics to 4 O’Clock are, I’m sure were rather extensive. How else would he has been able to write such beautiful lyrics?
Actually, to sidetrack for a moment, Admin 2 thinks that it’s not a coincidence that Namjoon isn’t just on 4 O’Clock was writer but also as artist, that in a way he also verbalizes his own pain/troubles through his verse even though, as far as we know, namjin never had anything that would be like the dumpling incident, but in this sense it’s more about what the incident represents rather that the literal event. As in, for vmin this was the big fight they had, a majorly significant moment that brought about a change in their dynamic and bond, and according to them it was their last big fight in general. Like a moment that was destined to happen in order to allow for them to later down the line grow into what they are today in connection to each other, but we think it was also a moment in which, while they might’ve realized and opened up to each other about their feelings, it was also when they had to realize that despite there being more to their feelings, it wasn’t the time for it.
As the lyrics in Serendipity say:
설레는 만큼 많이 두려워 As much as my heart flutters, I’m afraid
운명이 우릴 자꾸 질투해서 because the destiny keeps getting jealous of us
너만큼 나도 많이 무서워 As much scared as you are, I’m, too, scared
When you see me When you touch me
Destiny in this case represents their career and them being idols, being part of a group destined to become the phenomenon and the superstars they are today, meaning that this destiny stood in the way of their bond in a romantic sense. They had to prioritize this destiny over their feelings, over wanting to be with each other, because they were afraid of the repercussions that could otherwise bring upon them (as well as the other members). Besides, they could also look at namjin who, in a way, came before them. If theories are right and namjin were together sometimes starting in 2013, they had to eventually split romantically for the greater good of the band, so if their relationship had to take the back seat, so to speak, destiny having gotten in their way (gotten jealous of them), how could vmin know it wouldn’t be the same for them? Besides they already had so much going on with Jimin’s feelings of jealousy due to Tae’s Hwarang hyungs, Tae’s work on the drama keeping him away from the band and exhausting him even more, and the sad things still to come which they couldn’t know at that time just yet.
From Sweet Night we know that they had a first chance that Tae didn’t take, that he couldn’t have known that one day he would wake up and feel more for his best friend, as in Jimin, even though, deep down he realized that he’d long reached the shore already. So, in that park that night the conclusion they arrived at was that while they couldn’t move forward with their feelings (because perhaps Tae didn’t even know just yet the extent of his own), he realized that Jimin is an angel after he told him that he at least wants to be his source of strength which subsequently unleashed arrows of pent up emotions from his heart. So while it was a positive event in sense of it bringing clarity, to a certain degree, about their feelings for each other, it was also one of sadness because they knew they couldn’t follow those feelings. Remember how when performing 4 O’Clock Tae cried in the end? If it were a song just reminiscing about two friends making up at the park after a fight over them being stubborn about dumplings, would he really feel saddened enough to cry, to get to that level of emotionality?
Later in the song the lyrics say:
이젠 곁에 와줘 Now, please be by my side
우리가 되어줘 Please be us
I don’t wanna let go no
그냥 맡기면 되는 거야 We can just leave it to fate
말 안 해도 느껴지잖아 We can feel it even if we don’t talk
Here the important part would be the line about how they can leave things up to fate, which can be interpreted as even if things might not be what we want them to be right now or anytime soon, they will happen eventually because that’s how it’s meant to be. The lyrics generally make a lot of mention of how their love is destined, how their happiness together has been destined since the universe was first created. So it shows a sense of trust that regardless of what will happened, or might’ve happened in the past, they will find their way back together eventually (in a romantic sense). Like, again, in Sweet Night where Tae didn’t use his first chance but hopes he’ll get a second one and, judging by the hopeful tone of the song and everything that we know currently, it looks like he got it and it worked out in their favor. The same, I think, can also be said about namjin.
Looking at the lyrics of Serendipity, the idea of them being fated even though their meeting was serendipitous, Namjoon is basically telling us that here, too, he believes that his connection to Seokjin, if we are correct in the interpretation that Seokjin is the lover hinted at throughout different songs on the Love Yourself albums, was also meant to be and that it will remain as such even if they had to step away from each other romantically, that while they used to be scared back in the day to be together, to open up to each other about their feelings, it still was destiny and that it would work out in the end. Looking at how much they’ve influenced each other, how Namjoon even went as far as saying that Seokjin is his muse/inspiration in a way, would such conclusion really be all that farfetched?
Tumblr media
The first line of the quoted verse also reminds me of the same sentiment that Jimin wrote about three years later for Friends in which he wrote:
언젠가 이 함성 멎을 때 stay hey Someday, when these cheers die down, stay hey
내 옆에 함께 있어줘 Stay with me by my side
영원히 계속 이곳에 stay hey Forever, keep staying here, hey
We know that forever/eternity is a big thing when it comes to Jimin and Tae which we’ve seen as early as 2014 with the picture of their intertwined hands that Tae posted on twt with the wish of them keeping going together for a long time and then with Jimin’s addition of saying forever. Later during Bon Voyage 4 he also said that again, how he wants to live with his lovely Taehyungie forever, and years before that how he wants them to be together until they’re grandpas.
So, in a way, it isn’t just destiny they trust that will be in their favor, but it’s also their active wish and “work” in that direction, that it’s not just something a higher force has foreseen for them but it’s also something they consciously want for themselves as well. All because of that serendipitous fact that they ended up as trainees and members of BTS.
넌 내 푸른 곰팡이 You’re my blue mold (penicillin)
날 구원해 준 that saved me
나의 천사 나의 세상 My angel, my world
Here is where we can draw two connection directly to Tae and Jimin, one because of something Jimin said about Tae years prior and the other due to the fact that as recently as the second half as 2020 (DICON Magazine) Tae said he had Jimin saved on his phone as Penicillin. We also know that after the song came out, Tae made a phone case for Jimin with the word penicillin on it which Jimin proudly used and showed off.
Tumblr media
Furthermore penicillin itself is something that can save you, and while we might not know from what, exactly, Jimin needed to be saved, he did say that Tae is more than just his close friend, he is also his savior.
Tumblr media
As for Namjoon, there was certainly a time where he would’ve needed someone to save him, from himself and his dark, less than life positive, thoughts (as displayed by the lyrics in Always) but also the world around them back in 2015/16 where he was seen as the worst of the worst for things he’d said that had been purposefully misconstrued and misunderstood, as well as lyrics he’d written which, again, where taken to mean things much different from what he actually tried to say. While there is nothing I can use or base any assumptions on that Seokjin would be the one/was the one who saved him, contextually, I don’t think it would be farfetched that he did help him and was there for him during that time, much the way the other members surely were too. Based on what we know about Abyss and the background of that song, we know Namjoon helped Seokjin in some ways with it, so if Seokjin came to him and spoke to him about the hard time he was having in 2020, it isn’t that out there to think that Namjoon might’ve done the same back in 2015/16, and during other times between when they first met until Namjoon wrote these lyrics, right?
Tumblr media
난 네 삼색 고양이 I’m your calico cat
널 만나러 온 that came to meet you
Love me now touch me now
Calico cats are very rare, and usually you’ll only find female calico cats, meaning that male ones are even more rare than that. Looking at Namjoon as a person, I’d say he is a very rare type of person as well, I mean, how many teenage underground rappers turned idol group leaders who might also be queer and is also a literal genius do you know off the top of your head? Furthermore calico cats are seen as lucky cats in many cultures and places so in this sense Namjoon/Jimin would represent something lucky/positive that came to their partner which, if we again look at things that were said over the years, Jimin did say that Tae is the happiest when he’s with Jimin.
As for Namjoon and Seokjin, this could be connected to the fact that Seokjin was thankful that Namjoon is on their team, their ally, instead of someone from another group, thus seeing it as luck that they are together (Rolling Paper FESTA 2020), like he is their good luck charm that played a major role in them getting to where they are, so to speak. And yes I’m aware that he said that three years after the song was released but it wasn’t the first or only time he ever voiced such sentiment. Seokjin has underlined how much he admires Namjoon’s abilities as leader and lyricist many, many times over the years.
Tumblr media
“Our leader, RM. This guy is amazing. There are 2 more older guys than him, yet he is great as leader. I want to thank our leader personally.” -- Seokjin as a concert which, judging by their hairstyles (and the use of Namjoon’s old artist name) must’ve been some time around Dark & Wild perhaps?
As a side note, the mention of calico cats reminds me of a picture Seokjin posted for Namjoon’s birthday in 2019 (so two years after Serendipity had already come out) in which Namjoon is seen asleep while sitting and hugging a calico cat plushy. You’ll recognize both the plushy and the ARMY B*mb hat as part of the VCRs for 4th Muster in 2018. So I’m mentioning this as more of a cute thing rather than some kind of definitive sign of any sort really. By the way, that same cat plushy can also be seen when Tae lies sleeping and Jimin sits next to him singing the calico cat line and places the plushy on Tae.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But, what I think is, for me at least, the biggest hint toward Serendipity being, to a degree at least, about/inspired by vmin is the fact that early in 2017, February more specifically, Jimin and Tae both called each other their soulmates during one of their fansigns. And what are soulmates if not two people destined to meet and be with each other, two people quite literally meant for each other? And here Jimin is singing a song about how his love for this person and his happiness with them was fated, that destiny had this planned for them regardless how scared they may be and how destiny (outside factors) might be jealous of them (keep getting in their way).
Tumblr media
Furthermore, isn’t it curious how this song, specifically, is written as gender neutral instead of with female pronouns like their songs in the past or even Outro: Her off the same album? Yes, Namjoon explained in their interview with Billoard that this decision was one he made because these rare moments and special things in life are something that transcend genders, cultures and barriers between people, and love is also something that doesn’t care about genders, in this case love and destiny don’t care about the fact that they are all the same gender because they are fated anyway, they are soulmates, each others fated person, and their happiness is meant to be in one way or another. Together.

Note
it was obvious that inuyasha would end up with kagome because kikyo is already dead, but the "tragic love song of destiny" filler episodes really make inukag look bad imo. In those episodes inuyasha went on boat dates with kikyo, gifted her his mother's rouge, kissed her, almost told her "i love you"... he did nothing like that with kagome in all the time they spent together 1/3
Okay, if you're briging up Tragic Love Song Of Destiny, which is a anime only filler, then I assume is fair game to bring up more anime only content as well? In this case, I have exciting news for you about Inuyasha doing nothing like kissing Kagome as he did with ᴋɪᴋʏᴏ:
Tumblr media
He did not go on "official" dates with Kagome, but they did hang out alone a lot, in situations that were pretty much unofficial dates. They had impromptu picnics, they gazed at the stars together and they walked around Tokyo hand in hand (Kagome herself recognized the similarities with a real date).
And they didn't need to go on actual dates for at least half of the people they crossed paths with to think they were girlfriend and boyfriend.
It's also important to point out that Inuyasha and ᴋɪᴋʏᴏ went on these elaborated boat dates when everything was fine and dandy. They didn't have jewel shards to hunt or a maniac to stop.
And even so, people can go on dates and not be in love, the same way people can be in love and not go on dates.
I don't remember Inuyasha almost saying "I love you" to ᴋɪᴋʏᴏ, so I'll just take your word for it. But I do remember Inuyasha saying something even better about Kagome:
Tumblr media
This was a moment of realization, not of his love for Kagome, because he already knows that, but of the fact that every step they took, every decision made, every detour they took in their entire lives happened so that they could meet and be together. ᴋɪᴋʏᴏ was the path and Kagome the destination.
And I don't mean to disrespect ᴋɪᴋʏᴏ's importance at all. The path is just as significant. The path teachs you lessons. The path can be beautiful, meaningful, a fond memory. But it is not why you take the first step.
And the fact Inuyasha doesn't say that to Kagome out loud proves that he's not saying that just to say it. He is not saying just to get points with her. He actually believes what he's saying with ever fiber of his being. And we believe him because their story backs this statement up. Inuyasha did tell Kagome he loves her, but it was through his actions.
Protecting her with his life, taking care of her when she's sick, spending quality time with her family, meeting her friends, putting his coat over her when she's cold or in danger, supporting her through her school exams, understanding that he wasn't the only important person in her life, locking her the other side of the well by fear she might get hurt, spending the majority of time glued to her hip, waiting three whole years for her to come back to him. The list goes on.
He might not have gifted Kagome with his mother's rouge, but he gave her much more: his body, heart and soul. No amount of official dates, physical gifts, big kisses and fancy words can measure up to that. If those are the only things Inuyasha and ᴋɪᴋʏᴏ's love is based on, it doesn't seem too deep to me. So I don't think TLSOD made Inukag look bad at all.
Now, I totally agree that it was obvious Inuyasha would end up with Kagome because ᴋɪᴋʏᴏ is already dead, but I'd go even further and say that Inuyasha would end up with Kagome even if ᴋɪᴋʏᴏ was brought back as a living, flesh and bones woman.

Tumblr media
"You need to drop Kim Seokjin's case!"
The loud scream of your soulmate echoed through the whole room.
The party was over.
Jeongguk was shaking in anger and you didn't understand why.
Two hours. He was quiet for two hours. He didn't speak to you, he didn't look at you—he just...simply didn't acknowledge your presence for straight two hours.
So why was he shouting now? Why was he asking you to drop your client's case the second he stepped inside your apartment?
You need to drop Kim Seokjin's case.
Jeongguk was repeating these words over and over again.
Or wasn't he?
You were drunk.
Too intoxicated to separate reality from your drunken world. Too intoxicated to know if he was repeating those words or if you just kept on playing it in your head.
You had all the reason to repeat it all in your head.
You had a reason to think why Jeongguk would continue to say it over and over again.
Jeongguk was acting strange at the party. You had never seen him so...lost.
He was just looking at one particular person like she was his way home—no. He was looking at her like she was his home.
He was looking at "Red!"
You called your assistant.
"There she is, Seokjin." You pointed at Red's direction as you looked at Seokjin who's standing beside you.
It appeared like Red didn't hear you. It's understandable. You were a few feet away from her. Your voice wasn't even loud when you tried calling her name. Besides, she was talking to a man.
You didn't notice that the man your assistant was talking to was Jeongguk. All you could see was his back, plus your attention was focused on Red.
She looked stunning. You couldn't see colors, but you knew her flowy dress was sparkling with glitters.
"Let's go?" Seokjin raised his brow at you.
You nodded and made your way to meet Red.
You hadn't had the chance to talk to her earlier because a lot of guests were trying to engage you in a conversation.
They were interested in you. Jay Park, a corporate lawyer, wanted so bad to recruit you. He even offered to triple your current salary. He said you just needed to work in his firm.
You politely declined his offer. You weren't in this party to look for another job. You were here to keep an eye on Seokjin.
This party was planned by you. The public needed to be convinced that Kim Seokjin was a good person.
He had to let the world know that he was a good father to Soobin.
"You need to bring Soobin to the party, Seokjin." This was what you told your client days before the party started. "Walk on the red carpet with him. Be gentle, always smile. Look at him as if he's your whole world."
Kim Seokjin nodded. It wasn't going to be hard. Actually, you didn't need to coach him to do this. Seokjin loved his son with all of his heart.
"Absolutely no drinking," your voice was full of authority when you added your second reminder.
The plan was to make it appear like he was sober.
Seokjin was. He had been sober for three years now.
"Seokjin..." You called. There was another reminder. This was the most crucial of all. You only told him this in the middle of the party.
He couldn't fuck this one up.
This involved Red.
This was why you and Seokjin were headed towards your assistant's direction.
"Red..." You called her name again; however, she still didn't answer.
It seemed like she had seen a ghost; her lips were shaking as she stared at the man in front of him.
You were just an arm length away from Red, so you decided to look at the face of the man who was making her feel afraid.
"Gukkie?" You squinted your eyes.
Jeongguk switched his gaze at you. He also looked like he had seen a ghost.
What was happening?
You opened your mouth to speak, but Seokjin beat you to it.
"Hi, sweetheart," greeted by your client as he carried Soobin in his arms.
"Appa!" The little boy embraced his father tightly, earning a laugh from Red.
"He ran away from me!" Red pouted her lips. It looked like she had finally snapped out of her daze.
"I just wanna play with you!" Soobin reasoned out.
Red simply laughed at the little boy's defense, caressing his cheeks. She could never get mad at Soobin.
Looking at the three of them made your heart melt. They looked like a family, which was the whole point of this party.
You gave Seokjin a thumbs up. He smiled at your approval, but his happiness instantly turned into discomfort when he felt a glare directed at him.
Jeongguk was grimacing at the birthday boy.
"Oh, right!" You turned to your soulmate, suddenly remembering that he was standing right beside you. You were too preoccupied with your role in this party that you completely forgot about him.
Well, the most important plan for tonight was to make Red and Seokjin look as if they were a happy couple.
Again, this wasn't going to be hard because: "Jeongguk, I want you to meet my client, Mr. Kim Seokjin." You paused for a second just to smile at your assistant. "And this is Red, Seokjin's soulmate."
Soulmate...
Red and Seokjin were soulmates.
They didn't need to pretend like they were in love since that's already the truth. Red could see colors vividly. Seokjin wasn't living a black and white world too.
It was final.
They were destined to be together.
It was funny because they met because of you. You had an important meeting with Seokjin with regard to his case, but for some reason you couldn't make it so you just sent Red to meet up with him on your behalf. This happened months ago, right now, the two of them were very much in love.
You knew Mrs. Kim was going to use the 'having an affair' issue against her husband, so the only solution you could think about was to gain the sympathy of the public and the jury.
This wasn't a case of infidelity. This was destiny.
The laws in the place you lived in weren't fair and it's because of the existence of soulmate. Everyone's fate was already written by the stars. Humans couldn't and shouldn't contravene the nature of the world.
Divorcing your spouse because you found you soulmate wasn't punishable by law. It was a valid reason; however, the case of the Kim couple was different since they had a child together.
It's complicated. Divorce trials didn't usually involve juries, but since the matter that should be settled in this case was child custody and separation of assets, the rules were different.
Seokjin still needed to be careful. If he didn't meet Red during the process of his divorce, he wouldn't have a 'valid' reason to breakup with Mrs. Kim. If, for example, he had an affair with someone who wasn't his soulmate, then of course, it was going to be ruled as infidelity.
As Seokjin's lawyer, you had to help him distort the truth. Since he didn't want to use ‘physical abuse’ as his reason to divorce his wife, you suggested that he used Red instead.
Seokjin simply had to lie. He should tell everyone that he wanted to be with his real soulmate. Red, on the other hand, had to make it look like he was capable of being a good step mother to Soobin. This was one of the factors the jury would consider when granting joint custody.
"And this is Jeon Jeongguk," you continued introducing the three of them with one another. "He's my soulmate!"
Your heart was pounding hard because of excitement. It was a pleasure introducing Jeongguk to people you cared about, but it seemed as though Red felt the opposite of what you were experiencing.
You couldn't see it, but her face totally turned pale when you mentioned that Jeongguk was your soulmate.
She couldn't believe it.
Why didn't you tell her? How long had it been since you met Jeongguk? Could you see colors? Could her ex-boyfriend see colors?
There were so many questions circling in her head.
She refused to voice them out.
"Excuse me. I need to go to the powder room..." Instead, she excused herself. She couldn't deal with any of this now.
Your smile faded when Red hastily walked away.
You were confused. You didn't want to assume, but it looked like Red wasn't too happy with the news you just shared.
Didn't she always say that she couldn't wait to meet your soulmate? You waited three months to tell this to Red since you wanted to see how she would react upon seeing your soulmate.
Your disappointment was abruptly replaced by worry when you realized that perhaps something's wrong with your assistant.
Was she having an upset stomach?
You turned to Seokjin to voice out your concern. Maybe you should follow Red. The thing was, before you could say anything, Jeongguk was already running away.
"Washroom." Your soulmate said, more like to himself. He didn't look at you. He just straight up ran after Red.
You were left alone with the host of the party.
"I'm glad you found your soulmate." Seokjin genuinely grinned.
You couldn't return the smile.
There was a weird feeling in your stomach. Your chest felt heavy and you didn't know why.
"Thanks, Seokjin." You replied even though you didn't mean it.
What was the use of meeting your soulmate if he wouldn't even talk to you?
You were aware that you could get very insistent. This was one of the many things Jeongguk hated about you.
You couldn't seem to stop—not even when he was uncomfortable.
"Jeongguk-ah!" You giggled as you emptied your nth glass of champagne. You honestly had no idea how much you had drunk.
"Where did you go? You suddenly left me alone!" You complained, lips protruding into a pout.
Jeongguk kept his lips tightly shut. He wouldn't look at you straight in the eyes, but you knew he was using his peripheral vision to see what you were up to.
Jeongguk was quick to wrap his arms around your waist when you're about to fall. No doubt, you were really intoxicated.
'Enough.' He said to himself, snatching the glass away from you. You had enough.
Apparently, you didn't share the same sentiment. You wanted more.
You wanted more alcohol as much as you wanted to know the truth from Jeongguk.
You kept on asking him where he went even though you knew he went to the bathroom to follow Red.
You knew because shortly after he left you with Seokjin, you also excused yourself from the latter so that you could follow Jeongguk.
You just couldn't ignore the annoying feeling in the pit of your stomach.
Unfortunately, you weren't able to follow your soulmate right away. The guests just wouldn't let you go.
You were a professional woman so you couldn't straightaway end the conversation.
"Thanks, Mrs. Choi!" You smiled at the businesswoman before finally making your way to the bathroom.
No one could stop you now. You just had to avoid eye contact with anyone.
You succeeded. None of the guests were able to pull you into their circle again, but then your little trip to the bathroom was stopped again.
This time, it was because of Jeongguk.
It turned out that you didn't need to go to the powder room anymore. You could already see your soulmate from where you were standing.
He was at the veranda of the hotel room.
He wasn't alone.
He was with Red.
You couldn't hear what they were talking about. You also couldn't risk getting closer to them. Eavesdropping was plain rude, but damn. You were dying of curiosity.
What were they talking about? Why did Jeongguk look so mad? Why was Red crying?
There was no answer to your questions.
Jeongguk wouldn't tell you anything. He didn't even mention that he met up with Red when he went back to your table.
This frustrated you so much that you ended up drinking. Pain. You had to get rid of the pain engulfing your heart.
Sadly, you couldn't—at least not when Jeongguk was being an ass once again.
"You need to drop Kim Seokjin's case!"
His words were loud inside your head again. Jeongguk wasn't repeating these words anymore, but his chest was still heaving up and down.
He was irritated, hurt, and helpless.
"And why should I drop his case?" Your voice was devoid of any emotion.
Jeongguk suddenly flinched. He was lashing out at you for straight ten minutes now. You never said anything. You were simply watching him complain about how he hated the fact that you were representing Seokjin in court and that he wanted you to drop it.
"Because!" He groaned, eyes widening when you took a step closer to him.
He wasn't expecting you to do anything. You reminded him of himself. Every time Red got mad at him, he would simply watch too. You were like that—you were always so willing to listen, always apologizing, always letting him off the hook.
What changed now? W-Why do you keep advancing towards him?
Jeongguk's back hit the wall.
"Because what?" You were cornering him.
Jeongguk could smell the mixture of your sweet scent and alcohol. You were too close, making his head spin.
You were the one drunk here, not him. But why couldn't he focus? All he could see was your tantalizing eyes.
Why were you so good with colors in spite of not being able to see it? Your eye makeup was painted to perfection—this was the only reason he could think as to why he couldn't seem to stop looking at you.
Yes. That's the reason. Nothing more, nothing less. He admired your talent. It's the artist in him that found you beautiful.
Of course Jeongguk found you beautiful. He wanted to tell you that when he first saw you wearing that sage dress, but as usual, he bit back the flattering remarks threatening to fall out of his mouth.
You ruined the chance even before he could speak it. Jeongguk was too flustered with the way you complimented him a while ago.
But he was given another chance. Jeongguk was certain that this was the only time he could relish your beauty. You were standing inches away from him, everything about you felt so raw.
"Because he's not a good person and you're following him like a puppy! You're his bitch!" But Jeongguk was stubborn.
He would never tell you how he felt. You still annoyed him. He wasn't dumb. He figured out your plan. He knew you were trying to paint a perfect Kim Seokjin. You wanted that little boy to fall into the hands of his drunken father.
Or so he thought.
Jeongguk knew nothing.
"You love to run that dirty mouth, don't you?" You smirked at him.
You had enough of his bullshit.
Jeongguk flinched again. You moved closer to him—totally invading his personal space.
He could feel your hot breath on the crook of his neck.
You slightly tilt your head upward, trailing feathery kisses on his jawline.
Jeongguk gasped when he felt your soft lips on his mouth. He didn't know what went over him, but he just found himself closing his eyes and responding to your kisses.
It felt good. You felt good. Jeongguk put his hand on the small of your back, pulling you closer to him.
Wrong move.
He let out a whiny groan when you pulled away from the kiss. Jeongguk tried to catch your lips, but you were already inching away from him.
"I don't recall telling you that you can touch me."
Jeongguk abruptly opened his eyes. He was caught up in the moment, cheeks turning red when he realized what just happened.
He kissed you! Well, you kissed him, but it didn't matter. All he could think about was the fact that he responded and he seemed to really, really enjoy it.
This was wrong. So wrong. You were drunk. He shouldn't take advantage of you.
It was easier said than done.
You were unstoppable. Jeongguk hadn't recovered from the kiss and you were already yanking his tie off, causing the first two button of his dress shirt to come off.
"Hands behind your back." You demanded, eyes turning dark.
Jeongguk avoided your gaze.
No. Never.
He would never do what you wanted.
"You sure you wanna play this game with me?" There's a hint of playfulness in your tone as you caressed the silk tie in your hands.
Jeongguk knew you weren't gonna tolerate his bratty ass anymore, so he reluctantly put his hand behind his back.
This earned a chuckle from you.
He made the right choice. Jeongguk was pleased when you showered him with sloppy kisses. He was caught up in the moment again that he didn't even notice when you reached out for his hands to wrap the tie around it.
Jeongguk's movement was restricted. He glared at you upon realizing what you had done.
"Hm?" You teased, cupping his bulge.
Jeongguk bit the inside of his cheek. It was a brief contact. He didn't understand why he was so affected.
He wanted you to do it again.
"You like it, Gukkie?" You asked innocently. Jeongguk wanted nothing but to wipe the smirk off your face.
You were so fucking annoying.
"Got something to say?" You were laughing because it was obvious that he was striving so hard to stop himself from moaning your name.
Maybe if he focused his attention on something else, he wouldn't go this crazy over your simple touch.
Right.
Jeongguk's eyes wandered around the living room. Tiles. Your marbled tiles looked so expensive. Walls. The walls were painted white. Tits. Your tits looked like a dream. Jeongguk wanted his hot mouth on your nipple—wait.
Jeongguk froze when he realized what was happening.
"What's wrong, sweetheart?" You tittered, squeezing your tits together.
You were an evil person and Jeongguk couldn't take it anymore.
He moaned.
You chuckled again, clearly enjoying his desperation.
Jeongguk just didn't care anymore.
He moaned louder.
"Please," Jeongguk mewled. His big, round eyes were begging you to touch him.
"Please what? You gotta tell me what you want, Gukkie." You cooed, patting the wet patch forming in his pants.
Jeongguk whimpered. You barely touched him, yet he's already quivering against you.
"Just please," he gritted his teeth. You were playing dumb. How could you not know what he wanted?
"I'm waiting, baby..." You whispered, your fingers were gently massaging his dick over his pants.
Jeongguk's forehead hit your shoulders.
"Touch me. W-Wanna cum..."
"Attaboy..." You purred, kissing his wet lips and undoing his pants. You pulled down his underwear, freeing his fat cock.
You were drunk on alcohol, he was drunk on pleasure.
"Ah, Noona..." Jeongguk cried, he was enjoying your touch.
The torture continued. Your pace was slow, taking your sweet, sweet time spreading his precum on the tip of his cock.
"Wanna cum, gonna cum." Jeongguk was going crazy while you were squeezing your hand around the head of his cock.
You knew he was subtly asking your permission. It made you soft.
The game was over. You quickened your pace.
"Don't be shy. You are perfect. So, so pretty when you cum."
Jeongguk shuddered. Eyes sparkling because of your compliment. So he had a praise kink, huh?
"Cum for me, baby."
That was what he was waiting for. Jeongguk came fast and hard.
You couldn't help the smirk forming on your lips as you watched his cum in your fingers.
Jeongguk looked pretty. He was still drunk on pleasure. Your heart swelled in pride. You did this. You ruined him—just by using your hands.
"Red isn't your soulmate, Jeongguk." You suddenly said.
It's like Jeongguk was pulled back to reality. His head snapped, looking at you straight in the eyes.
The smile on your face was gone.
"It's me." Even your voice was impassive.
"And you have no other choice but to accept that..." This was the last thing you said to him before walking straight out of the door.
Jeongguk swallowed hard. The best thing to do was to follow you. This was something you two should talk about, but Jeongguk, being the brat that he was, just stood there.
He didn't know what to do—what to think.
Only one thing was clear.
You knew.
