Then finally, we had some heartfelt reunions as visitors came to see us. We're going to see if we can recruit Mr Zannakos (Vasso's dad) and Synesthete (Socks' wife) before the guests leave. It will upset their faction, but family reunions are more important, dammit!!

i mentioned this a little bit in this post but it boils down to them just being generally scattered around sports and sports-adjacent jobs.

i thought mb akainu would be a ref that screws over/directly causes ace injury during a whitebeards vs pirates game; garp works in media (not sports) but doesn't really like the notion that all his kids and grandkids are in pro sports lol; and koby & helmeppo are a rookie espn sports journalism duo (writer + cameraman) that interned at garp's media company for a while before changing to espn (garp was exasperated about it haha). but ye, the marines would be scattered as judges and rules officials and people on the olympics committee, etc etc.

i said nami would be a marketer or mb a sportscaster, so i think it'd be cute if belle-mère did something similar in her day, annndddd idk about cora. i made croc mihawk's manager but i have no idea what doffy would do and how cora would play into all that. would love to hear if anyone's got any ideas tho!

Honestly don't miss any pre-rework frames yet, though I guess I have only experienced a small handful, but they were all pretty big ones so IDK.

Wukong pre-rework was literally nothing to me. Iron Jab who.

Vauban pre-rework was just bounce pad turbo, now he does stuff that actually impacts the game.

Hydroid rework took him from "Why do all my abilities do magnetic damage (and none at that)" to "Why can't I hold all this armor and corrosive damage 😎"

The closest to missing a frame I have is world on fire ember since I got to use her when I was a low rank player, so, you know, "optimal" period of time to use her- but like. Her kit is good now- she has DR and a flashy ult and good armor strip and just like- she went from "I can clear low level content :)" to "I can do anything".

Also Xaku exists, who is just world on fire ember but with more potential.

And Hildryn exists, who is just world on fire ember but with more potential.

So I don't really feel that missing void yet.

Okay so ngl it's roughly inspired by the movie 50 first dates (Jimmy's getting she/her for this whole ask cause I'm in the habit of it and this is my Jimmy I can do what I want)

The gist is that Jimmy has no memory of past servers any time she joins a new one (last life Jimmy doesn't remember 3rd life, Empires 2 Jimmy doesn't remember Empires 1, ect.) So when Tango meets her during hermitpires it's like a moment where all the memories of Double Life come rushing back and she remembers the ranch and her rancher and everything and she's just overwhelmed with so many happy memories she picks him up and spins him around and it's very cute. And they thing everything's fine now that they're reunited and remember everything (Tango never forgot). But the Empires server doesn't want Jimmy breaking character and remembering her other lives, so it's actively trying to re-repress the memories. Jimmy just kind of assumes it's a fibro problem cause she has foggy memory anyways, but after Tango leaves there comes a day not even a week after he's gone that she can't remember him or anything that happened in double life. She vaguely remembers some stranger passing through Tumble Town, but she can't put a face to them.

Once Tango realizes he can visit the Empires server whenever he wants (headcanon that he can move between any servers he has the address to, like dimension navigating I guess) he comes to see Jimmy, only to see that Jimmy doesn't remember him. She vaguely remarks that he seems familiar and she's visibly distressed about this, and Tango just assumes that whatever erased her memories the first time did it again. And seeing Tango's face doesn't bring them back this time because the server is working harder to keep her from remembering. So Tango just guides her through double life and slowly she starts to be like Oh I remember that, didn't [thing] happen too? And eventually she remembers everything and feels bad that Tango had to remind her who he was, but Tango assures her he knows it isn't her fault and he doesn't mind having to refresh her.

And of course this isn't the last time, almost every single time Tango visits he needs to remind her, he eventually starts doing things like leaving books or pictures for her to read when she forgets. And Tango never complains when she forgets again because he knows that she would remember him if she could and he cares enough to put in the work.

It's sort of literally just 50 first dates (very important movie to me <3) but I love it anyways it's so sad but cute and kind of shows how dedicated these guys are to each other and just how much they'll put in to make sure they aren't taken apart again <3

i rly wish there was more than one opportunity to harden alistair in dao. or at least make it a gradual process that you see occur over time as opposed to him overcoming a lifetime's worth of self esteem issues overnight lol. like ella ingame hardens him early on for conveniences sake, but i rly do imagine it as a slowwwww process that doesn't really sink in until the deep roads (before the landsmeet in my playthrough). elspeth is pretty unanimously the leader throughout the whole game and always carries herself the way that an archetypal leader should, EXCEPT in the deep roads which traumatizes her so deeply she's basically rendered useless and shellshocked for several weeks. and bc its just her, alistair, oghren and shale (and the dog bc mods) the vibes are AWFUL lol and alistair rly has to like. step up. for her. and in doing so it kind of occurs to him that oh im actually keeping this group together and not at all incompetent like everyone says i am?? anyways elspeth recovers but she's never rly the same after the deep roads and neither is alistair. they both grow up so much during those months and afterwards this a sort of mutual understanding between them and they finally fully realize exactly what the stakes are. and its sad sure. but it also makes me happy bc they have this comradery that's more than just friendship or romance its like. mutual purpose??? and theres nothing sexier than that

Deep inside, he actually likes it! The color scheme matching with his clothes, and it isn't so much decorated and colorful; or how he would like to say, simple things are more pretty.

Alastor isn't using the bracelet frequently, most because he not like that type of accessories so much. He'll probably use when is far from you, like a way to remember of you and stuff (this man don't use phone not even if the world frozen), but in the most of the time the bracelet probably will be in the pocket of his coat.

Now, I think it's important to point out that Angel would act a lot more like Anthony with his S/O.

Using this as a base, he'll be SO happy receiving a gift from you. Obviously, he'll make some dirty joke about it, but deep down he wonders why he received it if it's not a specific date.

This poor boy is emotionally broken, little acts like this make him feel so moved and loved ☹️

Every time that him have a breakdown and isolates himself, Fat Nuggets comfort him, laying next to him and gently plays with the bracelet (or if he isn't using, Fat Nuggets will pick it up and take it to him, as if knowing it is an object of comfort).

I really wanna do a character analysis about Astarion regarding something I've noticed, and that's the fact that (I believe) his approval is related to the fact that he's only familiar with cruelty.

From what I've noticed, he doesn't *really* object to a good character. He'll whine about the extra effort, but you can get his approval almost maxed without playing an evil Tav (I've done so). And I've noticed that he's neutral to a lot of the "I'll see what I can do" dialogue options. He only really opposes things when you make promises, and I think that's significant.

I think he doesn't like promising to help people not because he's selfish, but because what if you can't? What if you're just giving them false hope?

I've also wondered if he approves of the crueler, more deceptive options not because he's a evil man, but because it's familiar. It's safe. He knows the world is cruel. Cruelty is predicable. Kindness isn't.

I haven't gotten to the hug scene yet but I think the reaction we saw in the trailer confirms things, that Astarion is really thrown off by Tav being genuine and that he's not opposed to kindness or softness - he just isn't used to it. When was the last time someone wasn't trying to manipulate or control him? When was the last time that he wasn't trying to manipulate and control someone else?

I think his romance is very interesting because he's so flirty and cocky and confident at the start but that's because it's purely physical and seduction and sex are what he is good at. If you sleep with him before the tiefling party, and then at the party tell him that it should stay a one-time-thing, he's really quite heartbroken. He plays it off, of course, but there is hurt there, real hurt.

Idk, it's just cool to see a character who isn't reduced to being evil for the sake of it - it's more of a trauma response and a self-destructive attitude because destruction is familiar and Astarion is terrified of the unknown.

Just some thoughts.

On how Crowley and Aziraphale felt during the kiss (but mainly Crowley here):

Ok so first, the main idea for this huge meta is that a LOT of us noticed how the music from the kiss scene is similar to the nebula one, right?

Second, a lot of us also correctly noticed the parallels between the kiss and how it was to taste food for the first time for Aziraphale: bc of his reactions, the hand on lips, the similar way MS acted both scenes, the little inhale etc. So how was it for Crowley?

Aziraphale's reaction to the kiss is practically a puzzle to solve on its own, so it's fun to analyse it, but basically, in a few words, Aziraphale kissed Crowley and he discovered he was physically starving for him, longing for him, yearning for him, for his kiss, and he had no idea. Just like with the ox. And now he needs to gorge himself in him but he can't. Great amazing heartbreaking chef's kiss someone give MS an Emmy.

But there's already so much amazing meta out there about Aziraphale x Ox ribs x The Kiss that I want to focus on Crowley here, and on the music.

So back to the music. The song in "Before the Beginning" and the song that plays during The Kiss (I Forgive You + Don't Bother) are so similar. They're not *exactly* the same, but they're totally reminiscent of each other. The viewer is immediately reminded of those chords that played in the opening scene. It's no coincidence that the fandom was talking about this fact only minutes after first watching those final fifteen minutes. This is an obvious intentional choice for storytelling reasons (David Arnold is a genius).

I have no expertise whatsoever when it comes to music, so I asked our friend @otsanda to see if that made sense and not only it does and she explained it, but she also uncovered so much more hidden meaning in all of it (musicians are amazing), so check out her meta about the music that not only serves as evidence to what I'm proposing here but it also has so much more juicy information in it 💖.

Back to the point: WHY thought? Why choose a similar song? Why intentionally COMPOSE a similar song for that moment?

Hear me out. WHAT IF, by reminding the audience of the creation of the nebula, they meant to convey to us that, for Crowley, kissing Aziraphale gave him the same feeling that creating his stars did?

THAT'S what the music is telling us. THAT'S why it makes us remember "Before the Beginning". It may sound cheesy, but Crowley may have literally seen stars when he kissed Aziraphale. He couldn't react accordingly (just like Aziraphale couldn't), bc it was an overwhelming and extremely sad moment (the music is also telling us that) for both of them. They knew it was ending . They were both having a moment of huge revelation that was fated to not come to completion. Crowley was right, it was too late.

It makes sense to show Crowley's feelings through the music, bc he was the one who started the kiss, and also he was wearing sunglasses in that scene, it's different from a character like Aziraphale that has all his million expressions for everyone to see at all times. And they've been doing this ever since s1 with the Queen songs that play in his car or in the background.

So my point is: the same song being used there makes me wonder if kissing Aziraphale finally gave him what he lost. His purpose. What Aziraphale was trying to give back to him by taking him back to heaven. There's no need for Heaven. Just kiss him, Aziraphale, and there he'll find the stars you want to give back to him. There you will one day see that smile on his face you saw Before The Beginning. Neil Gaiman and David Arnold I am in your walls 😭

This is what may lead us to see this happiness in Crowley again (not the action of kissing itself, of course, but what it represents to their relationship, them being together, them being an Us).

As @otsanda said: from the music we can interpret that that moment was a Revelation for them. Almost a religious experience. Crowley found his purpose again. What he'd been missing the whole season (or even his whole life since the Fall, but we've seen him especially depressed this season).

I'm not even getting into the poetry of how one can interpret the parallel to the angel's reaction to the kiss as carnal, and the demon's as religious; that would be another whole essay but let's just agree that it's incredibly beautiful. (Let me be clear that I mean here Aziraphale's reaction is carnal specifically for Crowley, and Crowley's is religious specifically for Aziraphale, not religious as in "worshipping god")

"Do you ever wonder what's the point?" Crowley asked in s2e1. The point, for him, is Aziraphale (if you've seen The Good Place you know what I mean). I hope he figured this out with that kiss, even as heartbreaking as it was. Even if it was a (temporary) separation kiss. (I hope Aziraphale figures this out with time too, that he's more than enough to make Crowley happy, that Crowley doesn't need Heaven, or stars, that Crowley needs him.)

Maybe that's why Crowley didn't leave and kept waiting outside until the very last moment.

Aziraphale and Crowley both bit the apple at the end of s2. There's no turning back from that Knowledge now.

Edit: I just have to add here this brilliant colour analysis of the nebula scene by @halemerry. And it's pointed out that during the nebula formation there's a moment when it looks like two people embracing. And the fact that a similar song is used in the actual Kiss scene I just... I have no words
