Buck's little headshake as he comes out of Christopher's room with the backpack is the part that's going to live with me.

His grandparents are literally in the living room waiting to leave and Buck's the one going, "I'll see if he needs any help with the last of his stuff." I think he does identify with Christopher in that moment and understands being young and angry and wanting to leave. And he sure as fuck doesn't understand what Eddie's been doing or have an explanation for it. But he's still the one asking the kid to change his mind at the very last minute.

I can't decide if I like it better to think about Eddie asking him again to talk to Chris or if it's an unspoken response to the first time Eddie asked and they got interrupted, but, either way, Eddie was waiting for that answer with his last bit of hope in his hands. He knew Buck would give it one last shot.

But if Buck can't fix it. Well. Guess that really is game over.
