══════════════════════════
It was a typical Thursday night—  your desk lamp casted a soft glow over your notes as you flipped through flashcards for your biology test. You were focused, head down as you muttered terms under your breath, determined to cram as much into your brain as humanly possible before crashing, then came the voice.
"Oh, Y/n!!!"
Your door flew open with no hesitation. You didn't even have time to respond before Jaemin strolled in like he owned the place, grinning from ear to ear.
"What the fuck." You muttered under your breath, barely looking up as he waltzed in and flopped himself onto your bed.
"Jaemin, what are you doing here— how did you even get in?" You asked, spinning in your chair with a look of disapproval stretched across your face.
He shrugged nonchalantly. "Your hot roommate let me in."
You raised a brow. "The one who has a crush on you?"
"The one I may fuck." He said with a grin as he stretched out, hands behind his head, settling in like he had no plans of leaving anytime soon.
"Ok, yuck. Didn't you literally fuck the other one?" You said flatly, turning back to your desk, scooping up your stack of color coded flashcards with a sigh. "Seriously though, what are you doing here? I told you I'm locking in tonight."
"You lock in every night." He said, dragging out a dramatic sigh.
"And that's why our intelligence levels are not in the same bracket." You joked, a small smirk appearing on your lips, even though your eyes stayed focused on the pile in front of you.
"So you don't love me, I guess?" He asked, his voice tilting into that overly dramatic tone you knew too well.
"Exactly." You said, spinning around to face him again.
"Wow... so cold. After ten years of friendship, this is how I'm treated? Unrequited love, what a tragedy." He said, clutching his chest, face twisted in fake agony.
"I love you, Jaemin. I've loved you since we were nine. You're my best friend ever. There, happy now?" You said deadpan, raising an eyebrow.
He froze for a second, then grinned slowly. "Wow... so you really love me? Like, really love me? You'd do anything for me, because you're so in love with me, right?"
You narrowed your eyes immediately. You knew that tone, it was the 'I need something' voice.
"What do you want Jaemin?" You sighed, already regretting humoring him.
"Ugh, you know me too well. Ok, hear me out." He said sitting up now, a bright smile spreading across his face. "I need a favor. A small one— tiny really."
You crossed your arms. "What kind of favor?"
"I need you to come to a party with me tomorrow night."
You blinked. "A party? Jaemin, you know I don't do parties. Especially not when I have class the next day."
"You have class at noon on Fridays." He countered quickly. "You'll be fine."
You gave him a long, skeptical look. "So all I have to do is... go to a party with you? That's it?"
He opened his mouth and hesitated.
You instantly leaned back. "Nope... nope, you're already pushing it. What's the real reason?"
"Wait! Just... let me explain, please." He clapped his hands together in a prayer gesture.
You sighed. "Ok fine. I'm listening, speak."
He sat up straighter, his grin faltering just a bit. "There's this guy, Haechan. I'm really fucking pissed at him."
You tilted your head. "Why?"
"He slept with the girl I really liked. Like, genuinely liked, not just thought was hot liked."
"Oof, I'm sorry." You said. "And... what does that have to do with me?"
He looked at you, dead serious now. "I want revenge."
You squinted. "What kind of revenge?"
"I want you to distract him. Just talk to him, keep him downstairs at the party, keep him busy, while I... you know."
"Jaemin." You said slowly. "Distract him from what?"
He hesitated for only a second, then smiled. "From me."
Your eyes narrowed. "If you're doing anything illegal, I'm out."
"I'm trying to fuck his sister."
There was a full beat of silence as your mouth dropped open, eyes wide.
"You what— seriously?" You said, disbelief and a reluctant laugh bubbling up all at once.
"She's hot!" He defended, already laughing. "And it's perfect, he'll lose his shit when he finds out."
"You couldn't just... I don't know, hook up with a girl he likes or something? Call it even?" You asked, raising a brow.
"Yeah well, Haechan doesn't like girls." Jaemin said casually.
You blinked, your brows furrowing slightly. "...hmm?"
He held up a finger with a small smile. "Not like that, don't look at me like that."
You leaned back, smirking. "Mmm, sure."
"What I mean is, he doesn't have feelings for anyone. Not girls, not really anyone. He just uses people— gets what he wants, then tosses them aside. He's emotionally detached. Kind of fucked up, honestly."
You frowned slightly. "You're just being dramatic."
"He's dramatic!" Jaemin shot back. "The man throws house parties on Thursdays for no reason. He once invited a girl over, got head, and then called her a uber while she was still on her knees."
Your eyes widened slightly. "Damn, he sounds like a real asshole. How does someone like that have this big of a name already?"
"He's a senior." Jaemin said with a roll of his eyes. "But all he does is throw parties, drink, and do drugs. He's a loser honestly."
You exhaled. "So... all I have to do is distract him— nothing else?"
"That's it. Just talk to him, keep him downstairs for like twenty minutes. If he tries anything, call me and I'll come get you. Promise."
You bit your lip, thinking. "Ok Fine, but only this once."
"YES! Oh my god, I love you so much, you're actually the best." Jaemin said, beaming at you.
"Yeah, yeah. Now you owe me, pick up those flashcards." You said, tossing the stack into his lap as you turned back to your desk.
He caught them and gave a smile. "Delighted, my queen."
You just rolled your eyes, but your smile lingered as you reached for your pen.
══════════════════════════
You finished the final touches on your hair, giving yourself one last glance in the mirror before grabbing your phone. Right on cue, Jaemin's name lit up the screen with a text:
Jaemin [11:47 PM]:
"I'm outside."
Stepping outside, you spotted him leaning against his car, arms crossed and a grin already spreading across his face as he saw you approach.
"Damn." He said, letting his gaze travel from head to toe with an exaggerated nod of approval. "You look sexy."
"Thank you, Jaemin." You replied smoothly, brushing past him with a hint of sarcasm in your voice.
He opened the passenger side door for you, but paused before you could step in. "I mean... we don't have to go right now, you know. We could go upstairs instead— chill a little, you and me... one on one." He tilted his head, giving you the same smirk he always uses when he's up to no good.
You raised your hand and snapped your fingers right in front of his face. "Focus."
"I am focused." He said, blinking slowly. "Just... not on the party anymore."
"Seriously." You said, sliding him a look as you walked to the car. "Is it your life's mission to try and sleep with every girl you meet?"
"Not every girl." He replied, shrugging as he followed behind. "Only the special ones."
You raised a brow. "And what would your mother think of you throwing yourself at someone who's practically your sister?"
"Ew, don't say it like that." He scowled, visibly shuddering. "That ruined it for me, thanks."
"Good." You smirked, climbing into the car.
He got in on the driver's side and started the engine, throwing you a side glance. "You're lucky I love you, anyone else and I'd have driven off by now in heartbreak."
"Right, so tragic." You said with fake sympathy, adjusting your seatbelt.
Jaemin chuckled, turning up the music just enough to fill the space between you. The drive was short, maybe ten minutes at most, but the energy shifted just slightly as the neon lights of the house party came into view down the street.
He slowed the car and looked over at you. "Hey... real talk for a second."
You turned toward him, a little wary. "What?"
"I know I joke a lot." He said, eyes flicking over your face, a little more serious now. "But I'm not gonna throw you into the deep end or anything. If this gets weird or Haechan gets weird, just call me and I'll come get you, no questions."
You blinked, surprised by the softness in his voice. "Jaemin..."
"And if you wanna bail at any point." He added. "Just say the word."
A small smile appeared on your lips. "Thanks. I mean it's just a distraction mission, right? I think I can handle that."
He nodded, but his gaze lingered on you. "I know you can. You're... careful, thoughtful— like you think ahead."
You gave a dry laugh. "You say that like it's a bad thing."
"It's not." He said. "Just means I won't have to worry about you doing something stupid."
Your eyes narrowed slightly. "What are you trying to say?"
He hesitated, then said it gently: "I remember that conversation we had last year. About how you were still, you know... saving yourself."
Your cheeks flushed instantly. "Wow, really bringing that up right now?"
"I'm not judging." He said quickly. "I actually think it's cool. You're not like the rest of them, that's why I care if you're ok."
You looked out the window, the beat of the music fading under the weight of his words. "Thanks, I guess."
Jaemin parked across the street, cutting the engine. "I know I'm an asshole sometimes, but I wouldn't bring you into this if I didn't trust you."
You exhaled slowly, then met his eyes. "Ok, let's do this."
"Hell yeah." He grinned, hopping out and circling around to open your door once more.
You stepped into the house, instantly hit by the loud bass of the music and the scent of weed, alcohol, and too much cologne. Bodies swayed under strobe lights, some grinding against each other, others already too far gone to care how they looked. Jaemin kept a casual, but protective hand on your lower back as he guided you through the crowd, eyes scanning the room like he was on a mission.
"That's him." He muttered, leaning down so only you could hear. He nodded subtly toward the kitchen.
Your gaze followed and landed on a guy behind the counter, restocking a row of liquor bottles.
You paused, he was... hotter than expected.
Black hair, tan skin, a body that made a plain black tee and jeans look like he was born for it. His movements were effortless, confident. His smile, charming. There was something in the way he looked people in the eye when talking, like they were the only person in the room. Your lips parted slightly as you took him in, eyes dragging over the way his shirt clung to his waist, the veins on his forearm flexing as he adjusted a bottle.
"Oh no." Jaemin teased, pulling you out of your trance. "Are we losing you already?"
"No." You said too quickly, blinking yourself back into reality. "No, just observing."
"Mmhmm." Jaemin smirked. "Well, he's your target babe. You've got all night."
"Lucky me." You muttered half sarcastically, but then he grabbed your arm gently.
"You sure?"
You turned toward him. "Yeah, are you?"
He nodded, though a flicker of something uncertain passed over his face. "Just, wait." He reached into his pocket and held something out, a condom.
"Jaemin—"
"Just in case." He said, tone serious now. "Even if he insists, don't let him talk you into going raw, I mean it."
You rolled your eyes, but smiled. "I'm not gonna do anything, relax."
"I know you won't, Y/n." He said, softer now. "But he'll try and sometimes the heat of the moment sneaks up on you. So just... have it, please."
You took it with a small nod and shoved it into your back pocket.
"Good luck with your girl." You said.
"Good luck with your guy. If you need me, call me."
And with that, you were on your own.
You straightened your shoulders, pulled your confidence up, and walked toward the kitchen— eyes locked on him the whole time. He didn't notice you at first, too busy rearranging cups and pouring mixers, but when he turned, his gaze landed on you like a spark.
"You look a little bored over here all alone." You said, voice smooth.
He looked you over slowly, thoroughly. "I am, are you gonna do something about that?"
"Maybe." You smiled, tilting your head. "But are you really worth my time?"
He grinned, a cocky thing that only made him more irresistible. "Maybe."
You watched as he accidentally slammed a bottle of tequila a little too hard on the counter, too distracted by your presence.
"I don't know..." You said, stepping closer. "You can't even handle a bottle. What makes you think you can handle me?"
He leaned a little closer, voice dropping. "I can— when I'm drinking."
"That doesn't sound very fun." You teased, watching the way his eyes flickered down to your lips.
"It is fun." He said. "Especially with a pretty girl like you."
Your hand slid over his on the counter, fingers brushing against his skin as you lifted the bottle from under his touch. "Then why aren't we drinking?"
He paused for a second, watching you intently. "Why aren't we?"
"You're still hogging the bottle." You murmured.
For a moment, you were locked in a wordless gaze, one of those silences that say more than anything spoken. You held it, tested him with your eyes.
"Are you just gonna stare." You finally said. "Or are you gonna pour me a shot?"
He smiled and grabbed two glasses, pouring quickly.
"What are we cheering to?" He asked.
You smirked. "To wherever this night takes us."
He clinked his glass to yours. "Dangerous words."
You both downed the shots, the tequila burning its way down your throat. You didn't even shudder.
"Wow." He said, licking his lips. "You took that like a champ."
"I can take a lot." You replied, wiping the corner of your mouth and not looking away once.
"That so? He said, exhaling slowly, pausing for a second. "Then take another with me."
"Don't you wanna wait?" You asked, your voice hinting a bit of concern.
"I thought you said you could take it." He challenged.
"Are you calling me a liar?" You raised a brow.
"Yeah." He shrugged. "I guess I am."
You grabbed your glass, poured another, and tossed it back without blinking, and he followed right after. That turned into a third, then a fourth.
By now, your skin was buzzing, cheeks flushed with heat. The line between performance and reality blurred fast.
You talked about nothing— music, parties, stupid shit, other people you both barely knew, but everything had a spark to it. The way his gaze lingered when you laughed, the way his hand brushed your waist when reaching for more cups, the subtle way your knees touched.
"You dance?" He asked, stepping just slightly closer.
"Depends who's asking."
He gave that dangerous smile again. "You know who's asking."
You glanced at your phone, and still no text from Jaemin. Thirty minutes of flirtation— of temptation. You looked back up at Haechan, something electric passing between you.
You smirked. "Let's dance then."
The music pulsed around you as he led you out of the kitchen and into the crowd. The beat was dark, seductive, and you let yourself move to it, swaying your hips, letting the rhythm take you. His hands found your waist. You didn't stop him. His body pressed behind yours, chest to back, his lips brushing close to your ear every time he said something teasing.
His hand slid lower and you turned to face him, now chest to chest, bodies moving in sync.
He leaned in close, mouth brushing your ear. "You wanna go upstairs?"
You paused, swallowing hard. "Mmm... I don't know..."
He pulled back just enough to see your eyes. "Why not?"
"I don't want you to think I'm some kind of whore or something." You admitted, voice quieter now.
He blinked, then tilted his head, gaze softening just slightly. "Then let's not go upstairs."
You blinked at him, not responding.
He leaned closer again, voice husky. "Come here."
Before you could respond, he took your hand and led you down a dim hallway off the side of the living room, the noise of the party muffled behind you. It was quiet here, secluded . You were suddenly aware of how your pulse picked up.
He pushed you against the wall, hands bracing both sides of your head.
"This okay?" He asked.
You nodded slowly, heart racing and then his lips were on yours.
It was hot, insistent. His mouth moved like he already knew how you liked to be kissed— like you were meant to be tasted slowly, like his hands couldn't decide whether to cup your cheek or grip your hip tighter.
He pressed closer, lips trailing down your neck, his hand tugging lightly at the hem of your shirt. You gasped, your body reacting faster than your brain could catch up.
And then your phone buzzed, twice.
You broke the kiss breathless, and fished it from your back pocket. Jaemin.
"Clear. Let's go."
You looked up at Haechan, his lips kiss bitten.
"Aw, I gotta go." You said softly, smiling while biting your lip.
He blinked, still catching his breath. "Seriously?"
You said nothing, just shrugged.
He smirked, eyes glinting. "You leaving now makes me want you more."
You backed away slowly, keeping eye contact as you fixed your shirt. "Good."
You turned, leaving him in the hallway, the taste of tequila still tingling on your lips.
You met Jaemin at the front door just as he was coming down the porch steps, his hair slightly tousled, lips flushed, and a dazed kind of grin stretching across his face. His shirt was wrinkled, and he looked like he'd just barely remembered how to walk straight.
You raised an eyebrow, smoothing your own hair out with your fingers. "What took you so long?"
He laughed, wiping his mouth like he was still catching his breath. "Got caught up in the moment."
You rolled your eyes as you both started walking down the sidewalk, leaving the pulse of the party behind you.
"I've never seen you this messed up in person." He said, glancing at you.
You just shrugged, before turning to him. "How was your night?"
"Fucking amazing." He said, letting out a blissed sigh. "She was... yeah, worth it."
You smirked. "I'm happy for you. Sounds like you had fun."
He turned to look at you, a little more alert now. "What about you? How'd it go?"
You shrugged with a soft smile, brushing your fingers against your lips almost unconsciously. "It was... fun. He's fun and hot— too hot, honestly."
Jaemin groaned dramatically, dragging his hand down his face. "Oh god, please don't tell me you slept with him."
You gave him a shove. "No, chill. He tried like you said he would, but I didn't. We just made out."
Jaemin gasped. "Y/n, you definitely have like, mono now."
You laughed, shoving him again. "He's not that bad."
"He's that bad." Jaemin said, shooting you a look. "How was he looking at you? It was probably like he was deciding how to ruin your life in the hottest way possible."
You gave a dreamy little sigh. "Yeah... I noticed."
Jaemin gasped. "Oh my god, you're into him."
"No I'm not." You tucked your hands into your jacket pocket, smiling to yourself. "He's just... magnetic. Like, he knows exactly what to say and exactly how to look at you when he says it."
"Uh huh, that's called manipulation." Jaemin said.
"I mean, maybe." You admitted. "But he was also weirdly... sweet? Like, he actually listened to me talk and he didn't push when I said no."
Jaemin raised a skeptical brow. "Ok, maybe a half point for consent, but let's not pretend this is some romance. You got lucky. I've seen girls fall for his type before, and they don't come out looking as cute as you do right now."
You gave a laugh. "I don't think I'm going back anyway. Not my scene."
"Good." Jaemin said with a little relief in his voice. "Because he's probably not gonna let you step foot at another party anyways because you rejected him. That boy's ego is fragile."
You tilted your head thoughtfully. "Well, if I never plan on going back, it doesn't matter what he thinks of me."
Jaemin grinned. "And that's why I love you."
You rolled your eyes but smiled back. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever."
He reached over and draped his arm around your shoulder, pulling you into a sideways hug as you walked. "Seriously, thank you. You saved my ass tonight."
"I know I did." You grinned, letting yourself lean into him for a second. "You owe me, like, five coffees and a weekend of doing whatever I want."
"Done." He said immediately. "As long as 'whatever you want' doesn't include throwing yourself at Haechan again."
You laughed. "He threw himself at me, thank you very much."
"Right, right." He said, laughing. "Just remember who's actually got your back when you get those 'u up?' texts at 2 AM."
You gave a smile, already hearing the echo of Haechan's voice in your head, the taste of tequila and heat still lingering on your lips.
"I won't forget."
══════════════════════════
It had been about a week since the party, and life had mostly returned to normal. School, studying, sleep, repeat. But he kept showing up uninvited in the quiet moments between thoughts. The memory of his voice, the glint in his eyes, the way his hands felt when they slid around your waist like he'd done it a hundred times before. You hated how he stuck in your head.
Still, it was whatever. You weren't going to do anything about it. You had your routine, and it didn't include making out with cocky boys in back hallways at house parties.
You'd just wrapped up another cram session for your Thursday Bio test—highlighted notes and color coded flashcards spread across your desk, when you heard it. A familiar, echoing voice in the hallway.
"Y/n!"
You didn't even look up. "You never knock."
Jaemin burst into your room like he owned the place, arms wide, his signature grin already plastered on his face. "My beautiful Y/n, I have arrived."
You leaned back in your desk chair, crossing your arms. "I can see that."
He walked over to hug you, and you let him, even though you were still recovering from the mental strain of studying.
"You know." You mumbled as he pulled back. "One day you're going to bust in here and catch me changing or worse, touching myself."
"Even more reason to keep doing it." He smiled.
You rolled your eyes. "You're actually such a creep."
"Yeah, yeah." He laughed it off, but then paused. His smile lingered familiarly, but you saw the hesitation flicker in his eyes.
You squinted. "What do you want, Jaemin?"
He gasped dramatically. "Y/n! I'm hurt, you think I only come here when I need something?"
You gave him a look, one he couldn't argue with.
"Ok, fine." He said. "But in my defense, we help each other equally."
"You mean I help you and you buy me coffee once a month?"
"Exactly." He grinned.
You sighed. "What is it this time?"
Jaemin scratched the back of his neck. "So, remember how you said you wouldn't go back to the party again?"
You blinked slowly. "Yeah..."
"Well, technically I'm not asking you to go for you. I'm asking on behalf of... well, her. His sister, she invited me again, practically begged— and I think we both know how that's gonna go."
He glanced at you cautiously.
"And you want me to keep Haechan busy again." You finished for him, leaning back in your chair.
"Look, I wouldn't need you to, but it'd be... really helpful." He said carefully. "I just need him not in the way, just for a little while."
Your brain flickered back to Haechan. His smirk, the way he made you feel both seen and exposed. The way he leaned in like he already knew what you'd do next. You told yourself you were over it, just a one time heat of the moment thing. But even now, something twisted in your stomach at the thought of seeing him again.
"Listen, I know you said you're not—"
"I'm down." You said, the words escaping before your brain caught up.
Jaemin blinked. "Wait, seriously?"
You cleared your throat. "Yeah, sure. You need me, right?"
His eyes narrowed. "Wow you really like this guy."
You rolled your eyes. "I'm just looking out for a friend."
Jaemin crossed his arms, fake pouting. "I don't know, I'm reconsidering this whole plan now. First he gets the girl I liked, now it's my best friend? I might need to keep you on lockdown."
You smirked. "Maybe that was my plan all along, you should just stay in."
"Nope." He said, pointing at you. "We're going, but this is the last time, I swear. And for real, don't do anything with him. Now I'm actually worried."
You held up your hands in surrender. "It's my job to distract, that's what I'm gonna do."
"I don't know if I trust you with that anymore." He shook his head, even though he smiled.
"You should." You said quietly.
He paused. "I'm teasing." He said after a minute. "I do. I guess."
You just smiled, the kind that said you already made your decision.
The house was louder this time. Packed tighter, music thumping harder, the kind of base that made your bones vibrate. You stood with Jaemin for a moment, eyes scanning the crowd.
You told yourself this was just a favor, a distraction like last time.
But as soon as you saw him— Haechan, leaning casually against the kitchen counter, sipping something from a red cup with that lazy grin on his face, all of that logic began to melt.
He looked even better than you remembered. Black hoodie, chain peeking from under the collar, dark hair slightly damp.
He spotted you instantly, his smirk curling as he straightened up.
You glanced over at Jaemin. "You owe me."
"I owe you my life." He said, already making a beeline toward the stairs. And just like that, you were alone, again... with him.
Haechan pushed off the counter and met you halfway.
"Well, well." He said, voice low. "Look who came back for seconds."
You tilted your head. "Maybe I'm just here for the drinks."
His eyes scanned you, slow and deliberate. "You look like trouble tonight."
You stepped in, closing the gap just enough to be suggestive. "You think I wasn't trouble last time?"
He laughed, licking his lips. "No, last time you were temptation. Tonight? I don't think I'll be able to behave."
You let yourself smile just a little.
"Try to." You said, smirking as you hit Haechan's shoulder, weaving through the crowd and heading straight to the kitchen. The music thumped through the walls, as you grabbed a bottle of tequila from off the counter.
"You're already hurting my feelings." Haechan said from behind you, his voice dipping just enough to graze your nerves in that playful, confident way.
"How's that?" You asked turning, only for him to close the gap between you. His arms casually caging you against the counter, hands resting just close enough to your hips.
"Drinking without me." He said, smoothly taking the bottle from your hand like it belonged to him.
You tilted your head. "I'm sorry, who are you again?"
"You should know. It's my party, after all." He replied, that teasing grin never leaving his face as he leaned in just enough to test the space between you.
"You're cocky." You gave him a playful shove, but didn't move far.
"I'm Haechan. Who are you? I never got your name last time."
You raised an eyebrow. "Wow. Kissing a girl and not even knowing her name? I've heard about you, you know... what you do to girls, the type of person you are."
That made him pause for a second, his tongue darting out to wet his lips as he held your gaze. "But you're still here, aren't you?"
You didn't reply, just smiled slowly, head tilting amused at his boldness.
"So." He leaned in again. "Are you gonna leave me alone, or tell me your name?"
"Y/n."
"Pretty." He said, the smile that followed unusually soft, like he actually meant it.
You eyed the bottle still in his hand. "Are you just gonna stand there and smile at me, or pour the damn shots?"
"I thought you'd never ask." He reached past you, his arm brushing yours as he grabbed two shot glasses. His cologne hit you, mixing with the alcohol and the buzz in your chest.
The tequila burned on the way down, but it made your limbs feel warm, relaxed.
"Is tequila your favorite?" He asked, eyes not leaving you.
You shook your head, setting the glass down. "Vodka mixed drinks. I don't like taking things straight."
He grinned at that, grabbing a red solo cup. He poured vodka, rum, and a splash of something creamy and white—the scent immediately familiar.
"Pina colada mixer?" You asked, brow raised.
"You seem like the type. Plus, you told me last time." He said with a smile.
"You remembered?"
"Of course. You're kinda hard to forget." He said, clinking his cup to yours before sipping.
You looked down for a second, smile slipping in without warning. "I really shouldn't be talking to you."
"Says who?"
"Myself, my conscience."
He shrugged. "You're a big girl, smart too. You know what you're doing. Just let go a little, everything doesn't have to be heavy all the time."
You gave him a playful side eye. "No?"
"Nope. If it was, it wouldn't be fun."
Before you could reply, someone passed by and handed him what looked like a vape.
"Fuck yes." Haechan muttered, taking a long drag and exhaling slowly, the smoke curling out the side of his mouth.
He held it out. "Want a hit?"
"Nah, I don't vape."
He blinked a little surprised, then laughed. "Baby, this is a cart, not a vape."
"Oh." You giggled. "That makes sense. Smelled... different."
"So do you want it?" He asked again.
"I don't know, I don't really do drugs."
"It's just weed. It's chill— makes everything feel good." He said, his tone smooth, not pushy.
You hesitated, biting your lip.
"I'm not forcing you, but trust me— it's fine."
"...Okay, fine." You took the cart, cautiously bringing it to your lips and inhaling. It hit your lungs faster than you expected, making you cough, but after a few seconds you got used to it, taking a few more hits. Warmth spread through you, you felt light and weightless.
"Haechan." You murmured, blinking slowly, finishing the drink in your hand. "Let's dance."
He didn't argue. You pulled him onto the dance floor where bodies swayed and moved like one blur of motion, but you were only aware of him. His hands on your hips, guiding your movements. His breath brushing the curve of your neck. His mouth near enough to graze your ear when he laughed at something you said.
And then you kissed him.
You didn't think— your lips were on his, his hands tightening slightly on your waist as he melted into it. The kind of kiss that made everything else disappear.
"How about we take this up to my room?" He whispered into your mouth, voice low.
"I told you I felt like—"
"You're not a whore." He cut in gently. "I want you. That doesn't make you anything except someone I want."
You hesitated for a second, the distant part of your brain catching up. "I don't know, my friend might come looking for me. He was supposed to—"
"He's not here right now." Haechan's voice was low and coaxing. "You're here, with me. You can make your own decisions."
You didn't answer,  just grabbed his hand and followed him upstairs.
You were halfway down the hallway, your heart fluttering, when you passed a room and the unmistakable sound of soft moaning filtered out from behind the closed door.
Haechan paused, head turning. "What the fuck?" He muttered, steps slowing.
Shit... Jaemin.
Before he could say anything more, you spun him to face you, grabbing his face urgently, your hands warm against his cheeks. His brows lifted in surprise.
"Focus on me." You whispered.
And then you kissed him again, deeper and slower this time. Your hands slid into his hair, pulling him closer as your bodies melted together. His hands found your waist again, but they didn't stop there, traveling up your sides, fingers over your bare skin as his mouth moved against yours with increasing hunger.
He backed you gently into the nearest wall, lips never leaving yours as the kiss deepened. Your back arched into his touch, your hands tugging at the collar of his shirt, desperate to feel more.
His mouth dragged from your lips down your jaw, kissing, teasing, then down your neck where he paused, sucking gently at the sensitive spot just below your ear.
"Room's this way." He murmured between kisses, and you followed him, half stumbling into his room, laughing softly as he shut the door behind you.
The moment it clicked shut, he was back on you, lips on your neck, hands guiding you toward the bed.
He pushed you down onto the bed, his body pressing against yours as he climbed on top. One hand slid roughly up your thigh, bunching your dress higher, never breaking contact with your neck as his mouth stayed hot against your skin.
His fingers played with the edge of your underwear for a moment, teasing, before pulling them down to your knees.
He paused then, lifting his head. His eyes met yours, and for just a second something shifted, uncertainty flickering across his face. He licked his lips like he was thinking, maybe even questioning, but before you could say anything, he lowered himself again, kissing a slow path down your body, lips soft against your thigh.
His breath was warm against your skin as he kissed the inside of your thigh, slow and steady, his hands holding your legs apart. Every movement felt like he wanted to make sure you felt everything— every kiss, every brush of his lips.
He glanced up at you once more, eyes darker now, the hesitation from before gone. Then he lowered his head again, his mouth finding the tender spot just above your knee, then higher. His fingers slid up your thighs, anchoring you in place as his mouth moved closer, teasing you.
You could feel your body tightening beneath him, breath catching in your throat as he finally reached your folds, his lips brushing against your clit, gentle at first.
Then he gave in completely, his mouth working you with focus, his hands gripping your hips like he never wanted to let go.
His tongue slid over you as he teased you with soft flicks and gentle pressure, each movement sending a wave of heat through your body. Your hips shifted under his touch, instinctively searching for more, but he held you steady, his grip firm on your thighs.
He looked up at you again, eyes heavy, mouth glistening. Then he dove back in, hungrier this time, his tongue moving with purpose now, circling, pressing. The sounds he made vibrated against you, adding to the overwhelming sensation building fast inside you.
Your fingers tangled in his hair, needing something to hold onto as he drove you higher. He responded to every twitch, every gasp, adjusting his pace, his pressure, as if he could read exactly what your body craved.
Then he slid one finger inside you slowly, deeply, curling just right. The rhythm of his hand and mouth worked in perfect sync, pulling you closer to the edge with each passing second.
That's when your phone buzzed, the vibration low, but sharp against the haze in your mind. Your eyes blinked open, lashes heavy as you glanced down. A message lit up the screen.
Jaemin [1:35 AM]:
"I'm ready. Meet me outside."
"Ignore it." Haechan murmured against your thigh, voice deep and muffled. His lips brushed warm against your skin, but your eyes stayed on the message.
"Mmm... I have to go." You said, sitting up slowly, the daze of alcohol and drug weighing your limbs.
"What?" He asked, looking up at you with hooded eyes, lips still wet.
You smiled, pushing hair from your face as you stood fully. "Leaving you on a cliffhanger again."
"You're evil." He smirked lazily.
"Mm, bite me." You teased with a wink, turning for the door.
"Wait." He cut through.
You paused, glancing back over your shoulder with a raised brow.
"Can I at least get your number or something?"
You shook your head, a quiet laugh slipping past your lips. "Where's the fun in that?"
And then you were gone, the door clicking shut behind you. Haechan just smiled to himself, letting out a breath as he ran a hand through his hair. "Unbelievable."
Outside, the cool air hit your flushed cheeks as you stumbled into the night, spotting Jaemin.
"There she is." He grinned. "Somebody's fucked."
"You are too, shut up." You giggled, smacking his chest lightly.
"Nah, just you. I'm only a little bit drunk." He gave you that smug, crooked smile that always made your stomach flip.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever." You muttered with a grin, stumbling into him slightly.
His arm came around your shoulders without thinking steadying you, but then he stopped, glancing at your face more closely, his smile fading.
"Y/n." He said slowly. "Are you... high?"
You paused, lips parting like you hadn't even thought to lie. "Maybe." You giggled.
Jaemin stared at you, concern overtaking every line of his face. "You never do that shit... you barely drink anymore— what the hell happened?"
"Relax, Jaem. It was just weed, a few hits. I'm fine."
"You could've had a bad trip." He said, eyes narrowing. "Or what if it was laced? You don't know who the fuck gave you that. You don't know what could've happened—"
"Can you chill?" You said, laughing. "You sound like my parent."
"That's what I gotta be when you do stupid shit like this." His voice dropped, rough with something deeper. "I just... I don't want anything bad to happen to you."
You smiled. "I'm fine, I swear."
"Alright. I'm staying at your place tonight."
"Damn, thanks for asking."
He gave you a look and just giggled again.
When you got home, your shoes hit the floor one by one as you peeled off your jacket, then the thin dress that clung to your skin. You collapsed face first into your bed in only your bra and underwear, the sheets cool against your flushed skin.
Jaemin followed behind. He dropped into your desk chair with a heavy exhale, pulling his hoodie off and tossing it aside. He leaned back, phone in hand, scrolling casually.
"You look good in this lighting." You said, voice smooth and thick as you propped yourself up on your elbows.
He looked up at you over his screen, lips quirking. "You're really saying that right now?"
"Mmhmm." You let your eyes drag down his figure slowly. "You've always been pretty Jaemin."
He laughed under his breath, glancing back at his phone, but not before you caught the slight flush in his cheeks.
You sat up more, letting your legs dangle over the side of the bed, posture relaxed, but eyes sharp with mischief.
"Come here." You said.
He raised an eyebrow. "To the bed?"
"Yeah, just wanna be close."
He hesitated for half a moment before standing. "You're so high." He muttered with a smirk, making his way over. He sat beside you, hands propped behind him on the mattress.
You leaned into him, fingers brushing up his arm softly. "You smell good." You murmured, eyes locked on his lips.
"Do I?" He asked, amusement threading through his voice.
"You always do." Your fingers trailed over his chest now, dragging down to his stomach. His muscles tightened slightly beneath your touch, but he didn't stop you. "And your skin's soft..."
Jaemin watched you, breath slower now. "You're really flirting with me right now?"
"I'm not flirting." You said, tone quiet. "I'm appreciating."
Your lips ghosted along his jaw, then lower to the curve of his neck. He tilted his head slightly, allowing the contact. You kissed him there— slowly, sensual, your lips lingering just a second too long.
He swallowed hard.
"I know you like it." You whispered.
His hand slid instinctively to your thigh, gripping gently as your lips traced down the side of his throat. He leaned into it, breathing deep through his nose.
But then—
"Wait." He said suddenly, pulling back. "I can't."
You blinked, stunned by the shift. "Why not?" You asked, voice low as you stared up at him.
"You're my best friend." He said, the words stuttering off his tongue.
"Oh, but when you ask to fuck me it's a different story?"
"It is." He said.
"Mmm, really?" You smirked, sliding your hand up his torso again, fingers trailing.
"Yes." He said firmly. "You're not sober and you don't actually want me right now, you're just under the influence... as fuck."
"I always want you." You said, eyes locked on his.
He sighed, the tension in his body slowly fading into something softer. He wrapped an arm around you and pulled you against him gently, tucking you under his chin.
"Please go to sleep, Y/n. I'm right here, just rest."
And... you listened. Eyes fluttering closed, breath slowing as the world dimmed into his warmth.
══════════════════════════
Your eyes fluttered open, vision blurry and head pounding. The sunlight filtered weakly through the curtains. You slowly sat up, blinking against the ache throbbing in your skull.
Jaemin was sprawled next to you on top of the blankets, one leg stretched over the edge of the bed, scrolling casually through his phone.
He glanced over. "Relax, it's just me." He said, offering a small smile.
You exhaled deeply, rubbing your temples with your fingers. A sharp pain spiked behind your eyes, a groan escaping your lips as you reached for your head.
"Here." Jaemin said, reaching down for a plastic bag on the floor. "I got you some water, some food, and Advil— for your headache." He set it on the bed beside you.
"How'd you know I have a headache?" You asked, unscrewing the cap of the water and popping the pills into your mouth.
"Jesus, Y/n." He scoffed, sitting up straighter. "You were shit faced last night, obviously you're gonna have a hangover."
"Right." You said with a smile. "Thank you for taking care of me."
"Yeah, of course." He returned the smile briefly, his attention sliding back to his phone.
Silence settled between you, but it wasn't entirely comfortable. Your brain was still catching up to reality, glimpses of last night flickering through your mind in half lit flashes. Laughter, music, moaning in the hallway. Haechan, and Jaemin... your heart beat a little harder at that last part.
"Hey..." You started cautiously. "Did we—" You hesitated. "We didn't do anything, did we?"
He chuckled, but didn't answer right away. The silence stretched a second too long, just enough to make your stomach flip.
"You tried." He said finally, his voice was calm, almost amused, but the words made your chest tighten. "But I stopped it, and you went to sleep— so, all clear." He gave you a lazy smile.
"Phew." You exhaled, falling back onto your pillow in relief.
"Damn." He teased, raising a brow. "Am I that bad?"
"No, no." You said quickly, laughing. "I just don't want to make you uncomfortable or anything."
"All good over here, you don't." He replied, eyes flickering back to his phone.
You shook your head, grinning. "Damn, I'm such a horny freak."
"I see how you get when you're drunk... and high." He added, glancing over at you, disappointment flickering in his gaze.
"Stop, Jaemin." You groaned, pushing his shoulder playfully.
"I'm still disappointed about that." He said, his voice a little firmer. "You need to be more careful. That's the last time you're going there ever again."
"You can't tell me what to do." You teased, lips quirking into a smile.
"Ahh, I guess I can't." He said dramatically, reaching over and grabbing the bag of food.
"Stop, give it." You laughed, stretching across him to snatch it back. Your fingers brushed against his hand, and your eyes caught his for a long, silent moment.
Your voice softened. "You know... I'm seriously grateful that you take care of me when I need it."
He blinked, lips twitching into a small smile. "Yeah, yeah. Now can you eat?"
You nodded, finally opening the container and taking a bite of food. "I almost accidentally got you caught, but I saved it." You said between bites, your voice cheeky.
"How, come?" He asked, only half listening as he scrolled.
"We came upstairs and we heard moaning." You said with a grin. "I'm guessing your party."
"You came upstairs to do what?" He looked up sharply now, eyes narrowing with suspicion.
You didn't respond, just smiled to yourself as you continued chewing.
"Did you fuck him?" He asked suddenly, sitting up straighter, eyes locked on yours.
"No, no." You answered quickly. "He just gave me head." Your voice was quieter now, but the confession hung in the air.
"He gave you head?" Jaemin blinked, dumbfounded. "YOU?" He repeated. "And he didn't get anything else from you? No sex, no head, not even a handjob?"
You shook your head. "Nope."
"Dude, he never does that... ever." He looked like he was short circuiting. "What's up with these guys just giving you head man? I'm impressed."
"First off, it only happened once before, so don't do that, and you know we don't talk about him, ok?" You said in a on edge voice.
"Ok, ok." He held up his hands in surrender.
"I guess I just gave the magic touch." You said with a smug smile.
"Damn, me next!" He cheered jokingly, grinning.
"Shit, maybe." You said with a smirk. "Haechan didn't even make me finish— well, because we were interrupted by someone." You shot him a playful look.
"Aw shucks." He said, chuckling. "Jaemin here to crash the party always."
"Partially." You replied. "I think he's not done with me though. Before I left, he asked for my number."
"He asked for your number— like, first? While you were leaving him?" Jaemin exclaimed, eyes wide with disbelief.
"Yep." You said.
"Did you give it to him?" He asked, leaning in like a gossipy teen.
"Nah. I don't think that's someone I should have access to at all times— for my own safety you know." You said, giggling.
"You're so smart, that's why I love you so, so much." He said with a bright smile... before it faltered slightly.
"I'm not smart for not giving him my number. I'm just not dumb." You said, brushing off the moment.
He recovered with a quick grin. "Maybe you aren't as bright as I thought, because that is the same thing."
"Shut up." You laughed, nudging his shoulder.
"Damn, I actually can't believe he did all this for you." Jaemin said, eyes wide again. "Nothing wrong with you of course, but he just— never acts that way with anyone. You might be his soulmate."
"Ew, shut up. Yes he's hot, but I could never imagine dating someone like him." You said, scrunching your nose.
"Good, because I doubt you're welcomed at any more parties after the double rejection you gave him." He said with a laugh.
"Didn't you say that the last time?"
"Yeah, but I mean it this time. You rejected him like four times."
"Okay, enough Haechan talk." You set the now empty container aside and leaned back. "I appreciate everything, but you should get going to freshen up. Plus, I have class in like an hour."
"You're still going?" He asked, brows raising.
"Absolutely, I'd never miss class."
"Okay, well..." He rubbed the back of his neck, hesitant. "Do you think we can meet up for dinner later?"
You paused, your tone shifting gently. "I think I need to be alone right now. I also have a project due on Tuesday that I'm cramming for because I got a little lazy. Let's meet... maybe Wednesday?"
He nodded. "Sounds good." With one last smile he stood up, grabbing his hoodie off the chair and slipping it on.
══════════════════════════
It was finally Wednesday, after days of cramming, sleepless nights, you had just submitted your project and shut your laptop with a dramatic sigh of relief. You sprawled out on your bed for a moment, eyes fluttering closed, the weight of the past few days slowly lifting off your shoulders.
The front door creaked open and slammed shut again, followed by the familiar shuffle of sneakers on hardwood.
"Yo." He called out, stepping into your room with a plastic takeout bag in hand.
You propped yourself up on your elbows, noticing something was off immediately. His voice lacked its usual playful energy. No cheeky grin, no snarky comment about your workaholic tendencies, just... a weird kind of stillness in his tone.
"What's up?" You asked, brows furrowing slightly at his hesitance.
He rubbed the back of his neck, glancing down for a second before meeting your gaze again. "I need you to come to the party with me again."
You blinked, half in disbelief. "Again?" You let out a soft giggle, sitting up fully. "Weren't you the one who banned me from that place like... twice?"
"Yeah, I know." He said with a sigh, plopping down beside you on the bed and setting the takeout between you. "But you're the only one who can distract Haechan well it appears, and fuck, that girl is so—"
He stopped himself mid sentence, biting his tongue. You stared at him, your smile fading slightly. He was always joking— even when things were serious, but right now he looked more anxious than amused.
"Right." You said slowly, nodding as you studied his face. You didn't press it— whatever that girl meant, you could guess, and it wasn't your place to dig.
"So... will you?" He asked again, voice low.
You hesitated for a second before shrugging. "Yeah, sure. Whatever."
His shoulders relaxed, just a little, and the smallest hint of a smile broke through. "You're a lifesaver."
You reached into the takeout bag, pulling out your container with a soft smirk. "You owe me something good for this."
"Oh, I got you extra fries." He said quickly, handing the container toward you like it was a peace offering.
You rolled your eyes. "Bribery works I guess."
══════════════════════════
The party was already fill by the time you and Jaemin arrived per usual. As soon as you stepped inside, Jaemin melted into the crowd like a ghost.
You didn't even bother calling after him. You just sighed, brushing past a couple making out near the stairs as you made your way to the kitchen. You needed a drink.
The fridge was wide open, someone rummaging through it carelessly. You reached past them for a can of something and cracked it open, sipping without thinking.
"Is this gonna be a pattern?" A familiar voice teased from behind you.
You turned, already knowing who it was, of course.
There he stood, eyes on you like you were the only person in the room. His head tilted just slightly, like he was already amused.
You crossed your arms and let out a short sigh. "Is what a pattern?"
"You drinking without me." He said smoothly.
You shook your head, watching as he took a sip from his own cup. "You're drinking without me too, so I'm not sure that makes sense."
"Just casually." He grinned, his voice light. "Take a shot with me."
You eyed him for a second, then gave a small nod. He reached over to the counter, pouring two uneven shots, one for each of you.
You raised yours with a quiet "cheers" before knocking it back. The alcohol settled in your stomach, hot and quick.
"You know I'm not doing anything with you, right?" You said once the warmth hit your chest.
He raised a brow, grin widening. "Did I ask?"
You huffed a soft laugh, unable to hide the way your lips curved despite your better judgment and his smirk deepened like he won something.
"It's loud in here, come outside with me." He said, already reaching for the bottle again, refilling both your cups without waiting for an answer.
You hesitated, something in you buzzing—nerves or excitement, you weren't sure, but you nodded anyway.
Outside, the backyard was a complete contrast to the chaos inside. Quieter, almost peaceful. Blue and purple led lights in the pool, casting a neon glow in the water. The heat of the night clung to your skin, but the moment you dipped your feet into the cool pool, relief washed over you.
He sat beside you, pulling a pre rolled blunt from his pocket and lit it with a flick of a lighter. For a second, the flame highlighted his face, features softened by the glow.
"How are you?" He asked, voice quieter now. "How was your week?"
You turned to him, blinking. "You actually care? Wow, that's new."
"You're so negative." He said, exhaling smoke before offering it to you.
You stared at it for a moment, fingers twitching slightly. Then you took it, bringing it to your lips and inhaling slow. You held it for a second before letting it go with a sigh.
"I'm cautious." You murmured, passing it back.
"Mmm." He hummed, nodding, puffing again.
"Why do you never disagree? Defend yourself when people say shit about you?" You questioned, turning to him.
"Because it's true. I'm not afraid to admit it." He said, exhaling slowly. "But sometimes people talk and over exaggerate, make it seem like I'm just heartless. If they're scared and stay away, that's their problem. But if they know what they're getting into— or think they do, then why should I waste my energy proving them wrong? In my eyes, they're just as fucked up as me."
You were quiet for a moment, then nodded slightly in agreement. He passed the blunt again, and you took two more puffs in silence. It wasn't awkward, just still.
"So." You eventually said, eyes drifting to the lit up pool. "How do you have such a big house as a college student?"
"My parents." He replied, tone casual. "They pay for everything while they go prance around in different countries, leaving me and my siblings behind."
"Siblings?" You echoed, surprised. You knew he had a sister, but hadn't heard anything about more.
"Yep. A younger sister and brother." He said, taking another hit. "My sister's a junior, doesn't live with me, but I keep a guest room here for when she wants a break from her roommates."
"And your brother?"
"He's a sophomore, goes to college a few hours from here— said he wanted a fresh start. I still check in with him a few times a week. He's had his ups and downs, but he's a good kid."
"I get that." You said. "I went somewhere else freshman year too. Only stayed for a year before transferring back here this year."
"So you are a sophomore." He said, nodding. "I figured."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
He only shrugged, sipping his drink.
"What's your story?" He asked, glancing over. "Why'd you want a fresh start?"
"My mom died about two years ago." You said, the words escaping before you could filter them.
His face shifted. "Oh shit, I'm sorry."
"It's good." You said quickly, brushing it off. "It's actually kind of stupid, out of all the drugs, she died from weed. It was laced."
"Damn." He muttered. "Is that why you were so hesitant earlier?"
You nodded. "Yeah. People don't realize how terrifying it is, it's real."
"Fuck, now I feel like an asshole." He said, running a hand through his hair, a tired chuckle leaving his mouth as he put the blunt out.
"Don't." You told him. "You gotta grow up and not be scared sometimes. Plus, I can make my own decisions."
There was a pause before you added with a lazy smile, "I don't even know why I'm talking to you."
"What— because I'm 'evil'?" He teased, one brow rising.
You laughed. "No. Because you're a stranger."
He leaned back dramatically. "Wow, you kissed a stranger. What did you say? Whore."
"Oh, shut up." You rolled your eyes. "I guess you're not too much of a stranger."
"Exactly." He grinned. "But sometimes you just need someone to be there for you, stranger or not."
His eyes lingered on you now, more serious than before. "But... we don't have to stay strangers— I don't think we should."
You raised a brow.
"Just give me your number." He said, voice softer.
You squinted at him, half amused. "Is that what this was all about?"
"No." He said quickly, then paused. "I just... you're different and I'm curious about you."
"Curiosity." You said, rolling your eyes, a reluctant smile tugging at your lips.
"There's nothing wrong with that, is there?" He leaned a little closer. "We should just mess around, find out more about each other. You must be curious too?"
You stared at him for a second, lips pressing into a tight line. "I'm not."
"Ouch." He laughed, not entirely believing you, but to his credit, he didn't push.
You paused, then let out a sigh. "Fine, I'll give you my number."
His grin widened as he pulled his phone from his pocket and handed it to you.
"Thank you." He said genuinely.
"Maybe now we don't have to only talk to each other on Thursdays." You said, punching in your digits and handing it back.
"Mmm." He smiled, his gaze lingering on you.
As if on cue, your phone lit up with a text.
Jaemin [12:58 AM]:
"Let's go."
You looked up, Haechan already watching you.
"Well, I've got to go." You said, standing and brushing off your skirt.
"Is there a night where you're not gonna leave me?" He asked, smile tugging at the corners of his mouth as he looked up at you.
"Mm... don't hold your breath." You smirked, waving before slipping back inside.
Jaemin was waiting by the door, hands in his pockets, a smile on his face.
"Well, well." He said as you approached. "What did you do tonight?"
"My job." You said with a giggle, eyes slightly hooded from the buzz in your system.
"Oh, you're high again?" His smile faded just a bit.
"Yeah, not a big deal." You said, casually hooking your arm around his like it was second nature.
"Right, and I can't even stay with you tonight."
"Why not?" You asked, looking up at him.
"Because you can't control yourself under the influence." He said bluntly.
"Wow, don't say that." You laughed. "I'm not even that fucked up, I could totally control myself."
"Right." He smirked. "But I probably can't."
"Yeah... maybe you shouldn't stay with me tonight then." You teased.
He let out a short laugh, shaking his head as the two of you disappeared into the night.
══════════════════════════
Saturday | 11:37 PM
You were curled up in bed, knees tucked beneath you, your laptop warming your thighs as the glow of the screen illuminated your face. The essay you've been chipping away at all day was only half done, and your focus was slipping fast. You already reread the same paragraph three times when your phone buzzed on the nightstand.
Unknown Number [11:37 PM]:
"Come over. Chill for a bit."
Your brow furrowed as you set your laptop aside and picked up the phone, thumb hovering over the screen.
You [11:37 PM]:
"Who is this?"
You already had a guess, but you weren't about to make it easy.
A few seconds passed.
Unknown Number [11:38 PM]:
"You know who it is."
You let out a quiet scoff, one corner of your mouth curling into a smirk, of course it was him.
You [11:39 PM]:
"Mmm, no I don't. So I guess that's a no."
Another pause, longer this time.
Unknown Number [11:40 PM]:
"Come over. Please."
Your thumb hovered again. You should've just gone back to your work, should've tossed your phone aside and shut the whole thing down.
You [11:41 PM]:
"I seriously can't, busy rn."
Unknown Number [11:41 PM]:
"Bummer."
You stared at the message, your bedroom suddenly too quiet. The flicker of curiosity and something else sat in your chest.
You [11:42 PM]:
"You can come over later though. We could watch a movie or something."
His response was fast.
Unknown Number [11:42 PM]:
"Later? It's already 11."
You [11:43 PM]:
"Ok, then don't."
Silence. Then...
Unknown Number [11:44 PM]:
Send the address.
You hesitated, biting your lip for a minute too long. Then you dropped a pin and hit send.
1:27 AM
You opened the door, blinking against the cooler air spilling into the hallway. Haechan stood there, hair tousled, a six pack of drinks in one hand and a smirk pulling at his lips.
"Didn't think you'd actually send it." He said, stepping inside without waiting.
"Didn't think you'd actually come." You replied, locking the door behind him.
"We're just sitting in the living room." You said, already making your way towards the couch.
"Perfect." He said, slipping off his jacket and tossing it over the armrest as he followed.
You pulled up something half decent on Netflix, something neither of you would end up watching, and settled in. He handed you a drink, and you clinked your cans together quietly.
He was the first to speak.
"How've you been? Since Thursday." He asked, voice soft, watching you from the side.
You took a slow sip, eyes on the screen. "Busy. Regretting life decisions."
He chuckled, amused. "Yeah, which ones?"
"Letting you text me."
A grin tugged at his mouth as he leaned back, one arm draping lazily along the back of the couch. "You're the one who invited me, sweetheart."
"You begged."
"I don't beg."
You gave him a look. "You literally said please."
"I'm just a convincer." He shot back smoothly.
"Manipulator." You corrected with a smile.
He laughed again, reaching into his pocket. "Mind if I hit this?"
You glanced at the sleek cart between his fingers, then at the hallway.
"Even though my roommates aren't here, they're still strict about smoking in shared spaces." You said. "No vape, no carts— none of it."
He blinked, pausing. "Damn. I can go if—"
"No." You interrupted, standing. "We can go to my room."
His eyebrows arched in interest as he rose to follow.
Your room was dim and cozy, washed in soft fairy lights. You pushed the door closed behind him and leaned against it for a moment before crossing to the bed.
"This is cute." He said, looking around. "You always have a vibe."
"Try not to ruin it." You said, climbing onto the bed and settling into the pillows. He leaned against your desk, then raised the cart again and took a slow pull, the scent hitting your nose.
"You want?" He asked.
You rose from the bed, stepping toward him and plucked it from his fingers without breaking eye contact.
His brows lifted. "Woah."
You rolled your eyes. "Don't be selfish now."
He smirked, but his voice dropped just slightly as he teased, "What if it's laced?"
"Not funny." You said.
He held his hands up, surrendering, though his grin said he enjoyed every second.
You took a slow puff and handed it back.
"That's all I'm doing." You murmured.
But that wasn't true.
Time slipped, the air thickened, you kept passing it back and forth, voices growing lower, laughter softening.
At some point, you looked up and noticed he was still standing.
"You've been standing there whole time." You said, eyes a little glassy, lashes fluttering as you sat up straighter.
"Yeah, I know. Why?" He asked, inching closer.
"Just curious why you don't want to be near me." You said with a teasing shrug.
He stepped in front of you now, close enough that you could see the shift in his expression. "I'm near." He murmured.
"Not close enough." Your voice was soft but firm as you reached out, trailing your hands up his arm and guiding it onto your shoulder.
His fingers stayed, curling gently over your skin. His gaze dropped to your lips, then flicked back up.
"Don't look at me like that." He said, eyes low.
"Like what?" You asked, guiding his arm again until his hand cupped your jaw.
"Like you want me to ruin the night."
His hand lingered against your cheek, the warmth of his palm spreading through your skin. Your breath hitched, fingers curling softly around his wrist.
You tugged him closer, his face now just inches from yours as he leaned over you, one hand settling on your thigh. "Maybe I do."
He closed the distance between you instantly, his lips crashing against yours with desperately. The hand that had been gently cupping your cheek slid to the back of your neck, fingers curling as he pulled you closer, deepening the kiss.
Your hands found the hem of his shirt, gripping it tightly as you tugged, urging him to shed the barrier between you. He broke the kiss just long enough to pull the shirt over his head, tossing it aside. His sweats hung low on his hips, revealing the sharp lines of his v-line.
He climbed fully onto the bed, hovering over you, claiming your lips in a heated, breathless kiss. His hands moved, tugging your shirt and pajama shorts off in one swift motion, never once breaking eye contact, the intensity in his gaze made your breath catch.
He leaned in again, capturing your lips in another kiss— wet and messy. As his mouth moved against yours, he nudged your legs apart with his own, his knee slipping between them, pressing softly against your heat.
His lips left yours only to travel down your neck, trailing gentle kisses that quickly turned rougher. He latched onto a sensitive spot just below your jaw, sucking hard enough to leave a mark. The sensation paired with the slow pressure of his knee drew soft moans from your lips. Your fingers found his hair, tangling in it as your hips shifted unconsciously in response.
"I don't have a condom." He murmured, his breath warm against your neck.
You were just about to leave it, but Jaemin's voice sounded in your head: "Don't let him fuck you raw."
Without thinking, you reached over to your nightstand, fingers finding the familiar shape of a silver foil square that you got a few weeks back. You pressed it to his chest, your eyes meeting his.
He paused, a slow amused smile spreading across his lips. A soft chuckle escaped him. "Smart." He said under his breath.
He rose to his feet, pushing his sweats and boxers down in one fluid motion. Tearing the foil open with his teeth, discarding the wrapper carelessly onto the floor, then rolled the condom on with ease, his eyes never straying far from you.
He grabbed your legs with firm hands, dragging you to the edge of the bed, his gaze locked onto yours intensely. Without a word, he hooked his fingers into your underwear and yanked them down, leaving you bare beneath him.
He leaned in again, capturing your lips in another deep kiss. His mouth moved over yours, but as you pulled back your eyes shimmered.
"I haven't— this is my first time." You admitted, voice barely above a whisper, breathless and shaking.
For a moment everything stilled. His expression shifted, something flickering behind his eyes— part surprise, part fascination.
"I'll try to be gentle." He said softly, his voice low and tight with restraint.
He stood, hands skimming down the length of your legs until they reached beneath your knees. He lifted them slowly, spreading you open softly.
He positioned himself between your legs, his body tense. He paused, eyes locked on yours for a moment, as if waiting for any sign of hesitation.
Then he pushed into you. The sting was sharp, and you gasped, your breath catching. He froze for a second, his forehead pressing lightly against yours.
"Breathe." He whispered, his voice rough. He gave you a moment, just enough to adjust before he asked, "Ok?"
You nodded, too breathless to say anything, but when you didn't pull away he pushed further, the pace picking up as he moved into you again, harder and deeper this time.
He gripped your legs tightly, forcing you open as he thrusted into you, his movements rougher now, more desperate. The initial sting quickly faded into a pulsing heat that had you gasping with every thrust, each push a little harder than the last.
"You feel so fucking good." He muttered, voice thick with desire. His hands tightened on your legs, and he slammed into you with more urgency, his pace picking up, rougher and less controlled. The air was thick with the sound of skin meeting skin, the room vibrating.
The tension in your body kept building, the pleasure mixing with the intensity of each thrust. His breath was uneven and shallow as he moved faster, harder, his grip tightening. There was no slowing down now.
"Fuck." He groaned, his movements becoming more erratic, less restrained. "So fucking perfect."
The care he showed earlier was gone. His pace didn't slow, only grew faster, more frantic. Each thrust hit deeper, more forceful, and you could feel every inch of him filling you completely. You clung to him, nails digging into his skin as he fucked into you without restraint.
The sounds of your bodies crashing together filled the air, a mix of moans, heavy breathing, and the wet, slick noise of each push. He didn't give you time to adjust, didn't pause to check in again. He just kept going, his grip tightening on your legs, forcing them open even wider as he moved harder.
The pleasure was building, overwhelming you, the pressure mounting with every thrust. Your body felt like it was on fire, heat pooling low in your stomach as his thrusts drove you closer to the edge.
"You like that, huh?" He groaned, his voice rough. His eyes flickered down to where you were joined, watching how he moved inside you. "You're so fucking tight."
You couldn't form words anymore, only moans escaping your lips as your hips instinctively moved against him, meeting each thrust, urging him deeper. Every motion felt like a jolt of electricity running through you, tightening your core, making everything spin.
His hand slid down from your legs, gripping your waist as he pulled you closer, driving into you with more force. The friction built, sending waves of pleasure crashing over you.
"God, I'm gonna make you cum." He grunted, his own pace stammering just slightly as his own release neared. "Hold on."
His hips snapped into yours recklessly, his movements growing more urgent. His grip on your waist tightened as he pounded into you, each thrust harder than the last, the sound of your skin meeting his filling the room.
"You feel fucking amazing." He whimpered, his voice strained, the force of his movements making your whole body shake beneath him.
He cursed under his breath as your nails scraped down his back, and with one last, brutal thrust, you felt everything snap—your body tensing, your legs trembling as the pressure exploded inside you. A loud, breathless moan escaped your lips as your orgasm ripped through you, your whole body convulsing around him.
He didn't stop though, didn't give you a second to breathe. His thrusts only grew more erratic, chasing his own release as you clenched around him, each movement pushing him closer to the edge.
"Fuck, yes." He groaned, his eyes locked onto yours as he slammed into you again.
"I'm there..." He buried his face into your neck, movements sloppy as he finally came, his body shaking as he released with a low groan.
He collapsed against you, his body still trembling, his breath coming in ragged gasps. For a moment neither of you moved, lying there tangled together, trying to catch your breath. His head rested on your shoulder, his chest rising and falling against yours. The tension in his muscles slowly started to melt away, and you felt the steady rhythm of his heart begin to slow.
He shifted slightly, pulling back just enough to look at you, his gaze softer now. His fingers traced the curve of your cheek, brushing away a strand of hair.
"Are you okay?" He asked, his voice quieter now.
You nodded, unable to find the words just yet. He gave a small smile. "I didn't mean to... push too hard."
You shook your head, pressing your palm to his chest. "It was... good." You whispered, your voice still shaky, but calm now.
"Good." He murmured again.

The day after – 1:18 PM
You woke up to loud, insistent banging on your door.
You blinked your eyes open, lashes heavy with sleep, your body sore and aching in ways that immediately brought back hazy memories of the night before. You reached for your phone on the nightstand, and the screen lit up— four unread messages, all from Jaemin.
Jaemin [12:38 PM]:
"u want chicken tenders or a burger?"
Jaemin [12:44 PM]:
"Hello? I need u to hurry I'm in line."
Jaemin [12:57 PM]:
"Just got chicken tenders u took too long, otw."
Jaemin [1:17 PM]:
"Dude, open the door wtf?"
Your stomach dropped... shit.
It was Sunday, your Sunday. Movies and lunch with Jaemin, your thing since middle school, the one routine neither of you ever skipped and was always on time for.
You sat up too quickly and instantly regretted it. A sharp pulse radiated through your thighs, your knees folded slightly beneath you as you stood. You hissed through your teeth, muttering a quiet curse. The soreness, the silence in the room, the disheveled sheets tangled behind you and...
No Haechan, not a trace.
You probably weren't going to hear from him again. If anything, he'd gotten exactly what he wanted and maybe... so had you.
You slipped into the first pair of underwear you could find, pulling on an oversized t-shirt and not even checking the mirror. You couldn't be bothered. Your body felt heavier than usual, limbs slow, mind foggy.
You stumbled to the door, fingers fumbling over the lock before it clicked open. Jaemin stood there with a takeout bag in one hand and annoyance on his face. "Where the fuck—" He froze.
His expression shifted fast, first frustration then concern as his eyes scanned your face, your hair, the obvious haze of sleep in your eyes. "Are you okay?"
You nodded once, voice scratchy. "Yeah. Just... come in."
You turned around, not realizing how stiffly you were walking until you heard his voice again behind you.
"You're walking weird."
You glanced over your shoulder, trying to play it off. "I just woke up, Jaem."
But his brows drew together, and he followed you with quiet suspicion. He spun once in your desk chair before planting his feet and letting his eyes roam, and stopped.
You didn't notice at first, but his gaze lingered just a little too long on your neck.
"Those weren't there last time I saw you." He said.
You forced a small laugh, brushing your hair back casually. "What, you keeping track now?"
"It's hard not to when it looks like someone marked you up like a vampire." He smiled, but it didn't reach his eyes.
You turned away, cheeks flushing, but you stayed silent.
He held up the takeout bag. "I got you food, don't know if you saw my text."
"I didn't." You said, hovering at the edge of your bed. "But thanks, I'm starving."
He smiled for real this time, but just as he reached to hand you the bag something on the floor caught his attention.
His hand froze mid air. He bent slightly, reaching down beside your nightstand. A second later, you watched his fingers close around a small, crinkled square of foil.
An empty condom wrapper.
He stared at it, his jaw twitching once before he tossed it into the trash without another word.
The air in the room changed instantly. You stood still, frozen as he looked at you.
You tried to lighten the mood, your voice forced. "The one you gave me, remember?"
But he didn't smile, didn't even blink. His voice dropped, almost too calm. "Did you...?"
You hesitated, then sighed. "Yeah. Last night."
He blinked once, and then again. He opened his mouth, but for a second, no sound came out. "Thought you were saving yourself."
You gave a slight shrug, arms folding across your chest. "Guess I changed my mind."
Another moment of silence. He tilted his head slightly, a ghost of a smile on his lips now, confused. "Who was the lucky guy?"
You hesitated, biting your bottom lip.
His eyes narrowed before he scoffed. "I know that face... no way."
Still, you said nothing.
He let out a short, stunned laugh, humorless. "No fucking way." Jaemin stood up, the desk chair creaking loudly behind him.
You met his gaze, heart thudding. "Jaem—"
"You let him?" His voice rose, disbelief mixed with something else— hurt, maybe. "Out of all people, him? Seriously? What, he texted you 'come over' and you just—fucking hell Y/n."
"It wasn't like that." You murmured.
"You ghost me for hours, you never miss our Sundays. I show up and you're sore and covered in hickeys—"
"I was asleep, Jaemin."
He scoffed. "Name one time you've ever slept past noon this year?"
You stayed silent.
"Exactly."
"I didn't plan for it to happen." You said quietly.
"That's the problem... he did!" He snapped. "I didn't think you were so easy. What, he called you pretty and that's enough for you to spread your legs?"
"No, I—"
"What, you've known this guy for like a month? You knew he just wanted to use you and you went along with it?"
"I was okay with that! That's what I wanted."
"You were okay being used for sex by some guy you barely even know?"
"No, not like that—"
"So then what? Because to me, it sounds like you're just a desperate slut."
You blinked. That word hit harder than you expected.
"Oh, I'm a slut?" Your voice was sharp now. "One body and I'm a slut, yet you dance around fucking anything with a pulse. You're disgusting... and easy."
"I'm disgusting and easy?" He snapped. "You let a senior fuckboy you don't even know take your virginity. It's actually sickening."
You stepped toward him, jaw clenched. "Would it have been sickening if it was you?"
Silence. His face froze, jaw locked as his eyes flickered, and he didn't say a word.
You let out a breath. "If you're so disgusted, then leave. First of all, it's none of your business who I sleep with— I don't stick my nose into yours. You've fucked girls I can't stand, and I never made it everyone's problem."
Your voice rose now. "You're my best friend— not my parent, not my boyfriend, and definitely not my mentor. So if you came here to judge me on every move I make, then you can go fuck yourself."
"Excuse me for being the only one that fucking cares about you."
You opened your mouth, but he was already tossing the takeout bag onto your bed with more force than necessary.
"Here." He muttered. "Since he couldn't even feed you."
Then he turned and the door slammed behind him.
The silence that followed felt like a vacuum, like the air had been sucked out of the room the moment the door slammed shut.
You stood there, unmoving, arms still crossed tightly around yourself. Your chest rose and fell a little too fast, like your body hadn't caught up to your brain yet.
"Desperate slut."
You could still hear it. Loud in the quiet and it hurt. God, it fucking hurt.
You sank down slowly to the edge of the bed, staring blankly at the takeout bag he'd thrown toward you. You let out a shaky breath and dropped your head into your hands.
He'd looked so angry, so betrayed, like you done something personally to him. But he wasn't your boyfriend, he never was, he never wanted to be.
So why did he get to act like this? Why did it feel like you were the one who done something wrong? You hadn't expected Haechan to stay. You hadn't expected Jaemin to explode and yet here you were, alone.
He was supposed to be your best friend.
But best friends didn't call you disgusting. Best friends didn't throw insults in your face and storm out. Best friends didn't look at you like you were less for doing something you had every right to do.
You didn't even realize you were crying until the tears hit your thighs. Silent, hot, and angry.
You swiped at them roughly, jaw tightening.
He didn't get to reduce you like that. He didn't get to decide what your choices meant, and he definitely didn't get to pretend like he was some kind of savior when all he'd ever done was hover just close enough to make you want more and then pull away every time you reached.
Some part of you still wanted him to come back. Still wanted him to knock again, to take it all back and say he was sorry.
But another part of you was done waiting on Jaemin to treat you like you mattered only when it was convenient for him. Because you didn't regret what happened.
Not the choice, not the experience, not even the consequences.
You only regretted giving someone like Jaemin the power to make you feel small.

Kari rubbed her eyes with a soft sniffle and took a breath. Hawks words and presences had helped her calm down. Sure the pain still lingered, but it didn't hurt as much. "I... I wanna keep going. No, I need to keep going." She chirped softly after a moment. "I can't just stop now. Not yet." She informed and turned back to look over more hero logs for her father.
Training logs showing his improvement, journals that dated before Kari's birth, interviews, news reports, and so on. Eventually Kari stopped on a journal entry dated a few weeks after Kari's birth.
"August 5, I brought Kari home for the first time. She's gained a bit of weight which is good. She's such an active little girl. Kitearo was immediately so protective despite how he acted before. I guess seeing how small she was and having processed what happened helped him a lot. Therapy has been a huge help for all of them. Shade us still sneaking top shelf books when I'm not looking, last time I saw her reading Moby Dick to Kari and immediately stepped in. We made an agreement that if she didn't read these to Kari then I'd allow her to read certain top shelf books with supervision. She's enjoying spending time with Kari, reading her books while she's is in Shade's lap. Boom and Beats always love to play with Kari, running around happily with toys and including Kati in their games. Flo shows Kari a ton of different plants, mainly flowers. Fino likes to have Kari ride on his back while in a random animal form. I feel like these kids will super close when they're older. Sure they'll get into arguments and maybe even fights, but thats life. I'm just happy it looks like things are gonna be alright. Still waiting for Boom and Beats to get their quirks, I'm not sure what they'll be since Mikomi's quirk is so different. She never explained why, but I have a rough understanding. Either way, I've made up my mind and I'll help with hero work in some other way, but I'll be retiring as a pro hero before Kari's first birthday. I can't risk it right now, there is too much at stake. I'll keep doing my best for them. - Lynx Himura."
Kari gave a soft smile then went to type in her mother's hero name and began looking through the hero logs there. Eventually she came across an interview, roughly around the same time as Lynx, though it was off by a few days.
"Hello, thank you for meeting with us, Angelic."
"Of course, I'm glad I could make it work. Been super busy and all." Mikomi laughed. Her eyes, while a different color, were roughly the same shape as Kari's. Though Kari's were a bit more pointed and Mikomi's slightly more rounded. But it was easy to see the resemblance.
"Yea, you've been very busy it seems. Your already the number six hero and you're still pretty young. Any insight as to why you're working do hard?"
"Ah, going for that question already. Fair enough. Well, it's kinda has to do with my quirk being so easy to... adapt to different situations so I can help out in many areas. So I'm able to be noticed more often and so on. That and I just like helping. It feels right to me. Don't get me wrong the money is nice too but I'm not wanting for anything. I'm actually only using what I need and saving the rest for future emergencies or plans."
"You planning on starting a family?"
"Maybe, maybe not. But I'll never let that information slip. I'm aiming high after all. If I have kids and I'm in the top three, their lives could be in danger so I'm keeping stuff like that close to my chest." Mikomi looked to the camera and smiled knowingly almost, in Kari's direction. Kari shivered a bit.
"Thats fair," the reporter hummed off camera and Mikomi looked back at the reported. "Now, about your quirk--"
"Sorry but I'm not divulging information about my quirk either." Mikomi was quick to interrupt. "I know it is different and rather weird but I'd like to keep that to myself as well."
"Ah, I see. Well, what about your relationship with Redone?"
"Oh, I--" Mikomi blushed a bit with a grin. "Well, it's a long story but after moving back from America, I had to go cuz of my mom's job, we reconnected in highschool and haven't really been apart since. He's really sweet and caring. We've been together for a while actually."
"Can we plan on a hero wedding anytime soon?"
"Ya know, I watched his interview last week and I tried asking him when he came by with the sweet buns. He just laughed and told me he'd propose when the time is right. I'm not sure when but I'm sure everyone will be made aware eventually." Mikomi chuckled softly. The interview went on, more questions, some dodged some answered. But all in all Kari got a good feel for Mikomi's personality. Kind but firm, not willing to take bullshit but not rude either. Stands her ground and proud of it.
Kari smiled and went on to find some missions, training logs, and a family tree. Kari widened her eyes. There she was with her siblings, her mother, her father, even her grandparents. There was Maica, Core, Core's father. Her whole family.
Looks like Lynx had two younger brothers one of which was deceased while the other was still alive but no where in Japan and no contact information listed and he looked to be estranged. Lynx's parents were listed too though his father passed away the same year as one if his brothers while Lynx's mother passed two years before Kari was born. Kari frowned, concluding an accident happened that took Lynx's father and brother. She shook it off and opened up a journal from her mother, taking a breath.
"I'm simply writing this so it is on record in case something happens to me and one of my children develops my quirk-" Kari perked up a bit. "I don't know if it'll come to that but dad said it's better safe than sorry. He probably knows something since we share a quirk and all. Thats besides the point. I plan on having this under heavy lock and key until I die or if one of my children requests it or whatever. I'm not the best with formal stuff but I'll try my best. Either way, I am Mikomi Himura. Mother to Kitearo Himura, wife to Lynx Himura. My quirk is called All of the Above. It is a highly adaptive quirk, able to integrate any other quirk upon seeing it, though it takes time. My DNA is very unstable for lack of a better way of putting it. My son's quirk is vastly different to mine. Well, it's going to be, he hasn't developed it yet but I already know. Sir Nighteye's quirk has been super helpful in calming the nerves of a new mother. For the most part at least, but I'm keeping that close to my chest for now."
Kari shivered a bit, having a feeling she knew what Mikomi was referring to but kept reading.
"As for the specifics of my quirk, I'm able to use a quirk I've copied with in a certain length of time after seeing it, depending on the type. A week or two for emmiter quirks, two to three weeks for transformation and accumulation quirks, and four weeks for mutation quirks. I don't just copy the quirk, but a snap shot of the person as well for lack of a better way of putting it. It can be refreshed if I see that person again but yea. Ugh this is more difficult to explain than I thought. Uh, the reason there is a snap shot is because I can call on it to help learn quirks more effectively, they take over my body and I learn through muscle memory. The quirks I have copied as well as the snap shots of the people will be passed on to which ever of my children inherits my quirk but those quirks will be locked until certain things are met, I'm not sure how that all works. Dad hasn't explained it and I haven't figured it out. It's weird to explain and better to show but I don't plan on dying so ill be able to show my kid when the time comes. Regardless, this is just a precaution and I don't plan on needing it. With that I'm closing this journal."
Kari blinked, moving to look through more journal entries. Some where around the time she was pregnant with her siblings. Then another caught Kari's eye.
"It's July 20th today. I'm feeling pretty weak from this pregnancy. Little Kari is really sapping me, but that's fine. I've had six kids before her so I'll be okay. But I'm not gonna lie this one has been rougher than all the others so I'm a bit worried. My due date isn't for another two month so it's fine."
"July 25th, something isn't right. I asked Lynx to take me to the hospital to have a check up. I might need emergency surgery. Kari might be born sooner than expected."
After that journal entry Kari found an obituary for her mother. "Number 3 hero dies for unspecified reasons." It lists the funeral date as well as other information.
Kari sighed softly, going over to Hawks and clinging to him, shaking and crying in weak sobs. She just needed a moment to process it all. "I... I know it's not my fault... but a part... A part if me still... still hurts." Kari hiccuped, nuzzling into Hawks' leg, just letting it all out. "I wanna know her. Who would she have been? What would be going on right now if she were alive? Why did she have to die cuz of me? It's not fair." The child cried, trying to hold back a bit but still needing to let out some emotions before continuing, if she even wanted to.
Tumblr media
Hawks stood beside Kari the whole time, his usual laid-back expression softened into something quiet and pained. He didn’t say much while she clicked through the files—he didn’t need to. His hand gripped hers back just enough to remind her he was there, grounding her, steady and real in a space full of shadows from the past.
When Kari tried to lighten the mood at the end, Hawks crouched down a little to her level and gently brushed a few strands of hair out of her face. His expression didn’t shift into pity—it never did. Instead, it was the expression of someone who understood, who had lived through too many ghosts of his own.
“Two pounds, huh?” he murmured with a gentle smile. “And now look at you. Tough enough to face all this head-on, brave enough to want answers even when you knew they’d hurt. That kind of strength? That’s rare, Kari. That’s hero stuff.”
He let the words settle before continuing, his thumb brushing over her knuckles where their hands were still locked together.
“Your dad loved you. All of you. You can feel it in every word he wrote—even when things were falling apart, his thoughts were on keeping you safe. That’s not something a lot of kids get to grow up knowing. But you? You’ve got that. You’ve got him with you every time you use your quirk, every time you snort like he did.” Hawks grinned a little at that, trying to lift her spirit without pushing her too fast.
He then stood and offered his other hand to steady her.
“We can look for more when you’re ready—your mom’s records, maybe some old hero logs. But we don’t have to do it all today. There’s no rush. What matters is you have this now. It’s a part of you, but it doesn’t have to define you.”
He gave her hand a soft squeeze, his wings flexing slightly behind him.
“You wanna keep going? Or you want a break, maybe get something warm to drink, clear your head?” he asked gently, letting her take the lead again. “Whatever you choose, I’m here, little bird.”

Newlywed Solomon HCs
Tumblr media
Solomon x GN! reader
Summary: Things Solomon does now that he's officially married to you.
AN: Hi all! I'm trying to get myself out of a writing funk (my event requesters, I'm so sorry, I'm trying ☹️). Since the new app won't have the side characters until later, I decided to just make some headcanons for Solomon so my brain could un-mushify itself. Nightbringer was but a mere taste of what married life with Solomon could be like and I need more, lol.
Warnings: Reader refers to Solomon as "my love," lengthy (I got carried away), other than that, it's all fluff!
Tumblr media
Newlywed Solomon who wakes you up in the morning with soft whispers of love in your ear. “I’m so lucky to wake up next to you. You have no idea how much I love you.” He holds you close, legs tangled, happily sharing his warmth with you as he presses soft kisses around your face, occasionally nuzzling his nose against your neck.
Newlywed Solomon who brings you coffee in bed. He knows how you like it and makes sure every measurement of milk, sugar, or creamer is perfect. It’s bitter… almost sour, despite the effort he puts in, but you’ve learned to hold your grimace as he sips his own beside you peacefully, his off hand thumbing over your knuckles.
Newlywed Solomon who sends little texts throughout the day if you’re apart. He wants to know if you’re thinking about him like he is of you. Expect anything from a meme he found, a gif of a cat, an emoji, or even a photo of himself showing what he’s up to. If you send a photo of yourself back, be prepared to have him spam you with heart reactions and words of love. He’s happy to know you’re safe and having a good day.
Newlywed Solomon who tries to keep up with housecleaning. He’s not particularly good at it, but he’s learning as he goes. You’ll find the bed sheets freshly washed and on the bed, though the fitted sheet is clinging to the corners of the mattress by a prayer. Sometimes one of his shirts ends up folded and tucked away amongst yours (you think this is on purpose so you’d see it and wear it). A lot of it he does with magic, but your kisses of encouragement make him want to do better each time without the added help.
Newlywed Solomon who mentions extending the family… in the form of cats. Easily agreeing, you both end up walking through a shelter with the hopes of rescuing a kitty in need. He stops in front of a cage with a pair of siblings inside, and after reading about how they’ve spent their lives in the shelter, he turns to you with misty eyes and a hopeful smile. That night, you bring home two kitties that are already spoiled by Solomon in the form of a large cat tower, a fluffy bed, and a bag full of toys, treats, and pretty collars.
Newlywed Solomon who loves matching with you. Matching robes hung side by side on the wall, matching mugs sitting patiently in the cabinet to be used, even matching toothbrushes that sit on either side of the bathroom sink. He’s even imbued your wedding rings with magic to connect your hearts so that every time you touch the banding, a soft pulse of the other’s heartbeat can be felt.
Newlywed Solomon who’s only allowed to watch as you prepare meals. He’ll quickly set the table before rushing over to hold you from behind. It’s the only way to keep himself from assisting, and besides, any moment holding you is a good moment. His help in the kitchen is in the form of grocery shopping, though he tends to get a little sidetracked from the list you wrote and you end up with a fully stocked inventory and random ingredients you have no idea what to do with.
Newlywed Solomon who’s devoted to your care when you’re under the weather. If you’re physically sick, he’s constantly checking your temperature, feeding you soup (that you requested he order), as well as offering some spells to cure/comfort whatever ails you. If you’re struggling mentally, he’s doing whatever he can to support you. Whether you need to be held as you cry into his shoulder or ask for a cup of tea and some space as you sort yourself out before confiding in him, consider it done. Your well-being is the most important thing to him.
Newlywed Solomon who loves spending quality time with you. Your legs rest on his lap as you sit opposite of him on the couch, watching something on TV, while he reads a book and strokes your calf mindlessly. He’s easily distracted, studying how you bite the inside of your cheek when you’re invested, the steady rise and fall of your chest, your little reactions to a sudden twist in the show. He loves how expressive you are in these calmer moments. You’re way more interesting than a thousand words on a page.
Newlywed Solomon who watches in awe as you get ready for the day. Laying against the headboard, his eyes trail along your scantly clad body while you sift through outfits. There is no lust in his eyes, just admiration for the person you are. He loves everything about you and he loves that you trust him to see you like this. He’s vocal when you ask for his opinion, but never cruel or hurtful as there’s never anything negative to say. To him, you look wonderful in any style and he hopes you’re able to see yourself the way he sees you.
Newlywed Solomon who lets himself get dragged off to bed when he stays up too late. Even when his eyes sting and neck aches, he finds it difficult to pull away from his work and finish it the next day. So, when the bed feels too big and cold, and you come looking for him, he’s grateful. Cuddled close in the bed after you generously cover him up more than yourself, fingers card through his hair, coaxing him to sleep easily. Through a crack in his droopy lids, the last thing he sees is you, smiling softly as you whisper words of love to him. “Get some sleep, my love. I’ll be here when you wake up, just like always.”

Hello! I'd like to please request a little scenario for multiple characters if possible; I'm especially interested in your take on this with Law, Sanji and Ace given their backstory. If you're open to writing for the ladies as well then adding Robin into the mix would be appreciated! My idea is simple; an S/O with a child, and the aftermath of discovering that fact. I don't mind if it's an established relationship and there just wasn't an opportunity to meet the kid before or something else, I just like the idea of these characters dealing with the concept of surprise family/parenthood, the angst that may arise from dealing with the role of a stepparent if they want a relationship (and its happy ending if possible!) Good luck with all the requests, I hope you have fun with them!

Tags: Established Relationship, Surprise Family, Angst to Comfort, Fluff
The wind blows soft through the port town. Law steps off the ship, coat flapping behind him, hands in his pockets. He’s quieter than usual, eyes scanning the street ahead. He’s not here on a mission. He’s here for you.
You sent a letter three weeks ago.
Just one line: “I need to talk. Come if you can.”
Law doesn’t like surprises. But he comes.
He finds you standing outside a small house with peeling paint and flower pots on the windowsill. You smile when you see him, but it’s tight, like you’re scared.
He frowns “You alright?”
You nod “Yeah… I just—can we go inside? I don’t want to do this out here.”
Law follows you in. It’s warm. Smells like soup and soap. A small jacket hangs on a hook by the door. Not yours. Too small.
His sharp eyes catch it, but he doesn’t say anything yet.
You lead him to the living room and sit. He stands. Watches you.
You look down “There’s something I never told you.”
Law’s voice is low “I figured.”
You breathe in deep “I… have a kid.”
Silence.
You look up. His face is unreadable. Like ice. You hate that expression, it means he’s trying to think without feeling. To stay calm.
He speaks finally “How old?”
You blink “She’s five.”
He does the math. That means before him.
“She yours?” he asks, even though he already knows.
You nod “Yes. Mine. The... other parent's gone. Completely.”
He nods slowly. His voice is cold, but not cruel “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I was scared.” You twist your hands “We met during a war. We never talked about kids, or… futures. Then we got together, and things felt good. I didn’t want to ruin it.”
“You thought this would ruin it?”
“I thought you might walk away.”
He looks away “You didn’t trust me.”
“That’s not fair,” you say, standing now too “I’ve been through things. I didn’t know how you’d react. You’re not… You don’t talk about family. You barely talk about your past.”
His jaw tenses. You hit a nerve.
You try softer “I wanted to wait for the right moment. But there never was one. Until now.”
Silence again.
Then small footsteps.
You freeze.
Law turns just as a tiny figure walks into the room, clutching a stuffed rabbit.
“Who’s this?”
Her eyes are big, curious. Law stares.
You kneel “Sweetheart, this is Law. He’s… He’s my friend.”
Law doesn’t speak. He just looks. She hides behind your leg.
You don’t blame her.
“She’s shy,” you say “But she’s smart. She reads pirates like storybooks.”
Law kneels too, finally, lowering himself to her level. His voice softens.
“I’m not here to hurt anyone,” he says “I’m just… surprised.”
Your daughter peeks out “You talk funny.”
Law blinks.
You laugh nervously “He’s from the North Blue.”
“Oh.” She tilts her head “Do you have a boat?”
Law nods “A submarine.”
Her eyes widen “Cool…”
She steps forward. He doesn’t move.
Then she offers her rabbit “You wanna hold Mr. Bun?”
You almost cry.
Law takes it. Careful. Gentle. Like it’s glass.
He looks at you over her head. Still unsure. Still quiet.
But he’s here, and he’s not walking away.
The rabbit sits on the table between you.
Law hasn’t said much since dinner. He eats quietly, politely. Your daughter sits beside him, munching rice balls like they’re treasure. She’s talking to him. A lot.
“Do submarines have beds?”
“Yes.”
“Do you sleep in them?”
“Sometimes.”
“Do you dream of fish?”
“…No.”
You nearly laugh into your cup. Law sends you a look. It says help me. You shrug. You’re doing fine.
When she finishes eating, you ask her to brush her teeth. She runs off with Mr. Bun in her arms. The house falls quiet again.
Law leans back in his chair.
“You didn’t even flinch,” you say “When she offered you the rabbit.”
He shrugs “She trusted me. I didn’t want to break that.”
You nod, chewing on your lip “That means a lot, Law.”
He looks at you. Eyes sharp but not cold “I’m not angry.”
“Really?”
“I’m hurt.” His voice is honest now “You didn’t tell me. I could’ve helped. Been there. Or at least known what I was walking into.”
“I know,” you whisper “I was scared. I didn’t want to push you away.”
“I’m not made of glass, Y/N. I’ve lost family. I’ve lost everything. But I never said I didn’t want to build something new.”
You look down at your hands “She’s my whole world.”
“I can see that.”
“And now that you’ve met her… what do you want?”
He pauses.
That pause stretches long and sharp between you.
Then, softly “I don’t know.”
You nod. You expected that. You’re not mad. Just scared again.
Law stands and walks to the window “She’s a good kid. Brave. You raised her well.”
You smile a little “She’s got my temper.”
“I noticed.”
You walk over to him. You both stare outside. The moon is bright tonight.
“I’m not asking you to be her father,” you say “You don’t have to… take that role if you don’t want it.”
He turns “What if I want to?”
Your breath catches.
“I don’t know how to be that,” he continues “A father. A parent. I’m… I’m a surgeon. A pirate. I know how to fight, how to cut, how to survive. Not how to raise a child.”
You place your hand over his “She doesn’t need perfect. Just present. Just kind. Even I didn’t know how to be a good parent.”
He watches you. Something cracks in his expression.
“I want you.” he says.
“I want you too.”
“But I can’t lie to you… I’m afraid. I don’t want to mess this up.”
You squeeze his hand “We’ll learn together. She’s not looking for perfect either. She just wants someone who doesn’t leave.”
That hits hard.
He nods and then tiny footsteps again.
Your daughter peeks from the hallway “Hey... can he read me a story?”
Law blinks “Me?”
She nods “You have a cool voice.”
You laugh softly “What do you say?”
He hesitates. Then walks over.
“Alright, let’s try.” he says “But only one.”
She beams.
You stand in the hallway, listening through the door. His voice is low, slow, careful. Reading a picture book about sea creatures. She’s tucked in, eyes half-closed. The rabbit is between them on the bed.
Law finishes the page. She murmurs, “You’re not scary like someone said.”
You gasp quietly. Betrayal.
Law chuckles “Someone said that?”
“Mhm. They said you’re all sharp eyes and brooding. But you’re kinda soft.”
Law mutters, “I am never going to live that down.”
You grin and walk back to the living room.
He stays. Finishes the story. Even tucks her in.
When he comes out, he looks… changed.
“You did good.” you say.
“I didn’t even sweat.”
“Liar.”
He sighs, then smirks “Okay, maybe a little.”
You take his hand again “So…”
“So.” he echoes.
“You staying the night?”
He raises a brow “You asking?”
You smile “I have tea. And a couch. Or a bed, if you behave.”
He smirks “I’ll try my best.”

── .✦ Sanji:
Tags: Flirting Sanji, Soft Sanji, Humor, Fluff, Unexpected Bonding, Found Family
Sanji flirts with you every time he sees you.
At the market “Ah, Y/N! Did the sun rise just to see your face today?”
At the docks “Want me to carry those for you, my love? Your hands are far too lovely for heavy lifting!”
Even after the battle in your city, where the Strawhats helped “You’re even more beautiful covered in blood. Should I be worried about how much I love that?”
You never fall for it. You roll your eyes. You walk away. You don’t even blush.
It drives him insane.
“You’re difficult to get,” he says one afternoon, following you through town “but I like that.”
“I don’t fall,” you say flatly “Especially not for men with hearts in their eyes.”
“Ahhh, but my heart is sincere!”
You stop and face him “Sanji. You don’t even know me.”
“I want to.”
You pause. He’s annoying, yes. But not bad. He’s never pushed you too far. Never said anything mean. Just flirty. Charming. Too charming.
You sigh “Fine. You want to know me?”
He lights up “Yes! Of course!”
“Then come with me.”
You lead him through town, away from the market, away from the noise. Into a quiet part of the island. A garden path. A small house tucked in the trees.
He’s still smiling “So this is where the beautiful Y/N hides. A date, then?”
You don’t answer. You open the door. Inside, it’s neat. Warm. Lived-in. There are toys in the corner. A tiny pair of shoes by the door.
Sanji frowns “Is this… your house?”
“Wait here.” you say.
You go into the back room. A few seconds later, you return, holding a small child. Sleepy-eyed. Holding a stuffed whale. While another lady leaves the house as if her job there is finished.
You look Sanji in the eye.
“This is my daughter.”
Sanji freezes.
Dead silent.
You wait.
You expect a nervous laugh. A fast goodbye. A dramatic “I’m not ready for this!” speech.
But it doesn’t come.
Instead…
“Her hair’s like yours,” he says softly “She’s beautiful.”
Your daughter rubs her eyes, looks at him “Who’s that?”
You answer “Just... a friend.”
Sanji kneels slowly “Hi, sweetheart. I’m Sanji. Can I say hello?”
She shrugs. He waves. She waves back with the whale.
“Nice to meet you, Mr. Whale.” Sanji says seriously.
You blink.
She giggles.
You didn’t expect this.
You make tea. Sanji helps. He insists, actually.
“She can’t have sugar this late.” you say.
“Then honey,” he says “Gentle on the stomach.”
You watch as he puts her cup in front of her like a butler. Bows. She bows back. You nearly choke on your tea.
“Do you cook?” she asks.
“Oh yes,” he says “Better than anyone.”
She claps “Make us dinner!”
Sanji glances at you. You nod. Why not?
He makes a simple meal. It smells amazing. Your daughter eats two full plates.
After, she sits in his lap and shows him a book of sea animals. He listens. Really listens.
You don’t understand what’s happening.
You were trying to scare him away.
Instead, he’s… perfect.
When she falls asleep, he carries her to her bed. Quiet. Gentle.
He tucks her in, fixes her whale beside her, and kisses her forehead.
You follow him back to the living room in silence.
“Well...” you say, still confused “That wasn’t what I expected.”
He smiles but smaller this time. Softer.
“I flirt because it’s fun,” he says “But I stayed because I wanted to see you.”
You stare at him “You weren’t scared?”
“I was shocked,” he admits “But not scared. You’re a single parent. That’s strong. She’s lucky to have you.”
You look away “I thought it would make you leave.”
“I’m not that easy to get rid of.”
You smile at that and look at him again. This time longer.
Sanji isn’t just charm. He’s heart. He’s warmth.
And… maybe you were wrong about him.
Your daughter’s asleep.
Sanji’s sitting on the couch, arms stretched over the backrest like he belongs there. His jacket is off, sleeves rolled up, and a soft smile on his lips.
He looks so… calm. Like this is normal. Like he wants this.
You sit across from him, legs tucked under you. You sip your tea. Your hands are shaking just a little, but you hide it well.
“Thanks for dinner,” you say “She loved it.”
“She’s adorable,” he says, smiling “And polite. You’ve done an amazing job.”
You stare into your cup “I didn’t do it alone. But… it’s been a long time since I shared her with someone.”
Sanji watches you quietly. No teasing now. Just listening.
You swallow. Here goes nothing.
“So,” you say “I’ve decided something.”
He leans forward “Oh?”
You lift your eyes to meet his “I’m saying yes.”
His brows lift “Yes to what?”
You smile “A date.”
He freezes “Wait. A—really?”
You nod.
“I mean, I’ve been asking for weeks, but I thought you hated me.”
“I didn’t hate you,” you say “I just didn’t believe you.”
“And now?”
“Now I do.”
He stares at you for a second. Then a slow, beautiful grin spreads across his face. Like he’s won a war. Like the clouds finally moved for the sun.
He exhales like he’s been holding his breath for days.
“You—you have no idea what this means to me, Y/N.”
You chuckle “I might have some idea.”
“Do you want flowers? Candles? Music? Should I wear a suit? I’ll cook, of course—”
You laugh softly “Just come as you are.”
He runs a hand through his hair, suddenly flustered “I don’t think I’ve ever been this happy.”
You sip your tea again. Calm on the outside.
But inside? Your heart is thundering. So loud it feels like it echoes in your chest. And he doesn't even know your heart is actually beating faster than his own.
You’ve had to be strong for so long. For your child. For yourself. Love always felt like a luxury you couldn’t afford.
But Sanji… he’s something else.
Not because he’s charming.
But because when it really mattered, he stayed.
And now, you let yourself fall a little deeper.
You stand. Walk over. And press a soft kiss to his cheek.
He goes still.
You pull back and say quietly, “Can't wait for the date.”
His eyes widen, then fill with something warm surprised, happy, maybe even a little nervous.
“You… really?” he asks, softer than you’ve ever heard him.
You nod “Don’t make me regret it.”
His laugh is breathless “Never.”
You smile, heart pounding, but you don’t let it show. He doesn’t need to know yet how much this means.
A few nights later for your first date Sanji goes all out, but not in a flashy way. It’s thoughtful. Intimate.
He sets up dinner on the ship’s deck. Small candles, soft music from a den den mushi radio, and a view of the sea under stars. He cooks something warm and comforting, not fancy, just full of love.
You talk for hours. About silly things, quiet things, your pasts and dreams. It’s easy. He listens more than he speaks, and when he does talk, it’s gentle.
No cheesy lines. Just Sanji. Real and warm.
After dessert, he walks you home in silence. Not awkward, just peaceful. The kind of quiet where you don’t need to fill space.
At your door, he looks at you with hopeful eyes but doesn’t move in. He’s waiting for your choice.
So you step closer.
You kiss him.
Soft. Sure. Just once. But it’s full of everything you’ve been holding back.
When you pull away, he blinks like he’s just been hit by a wave.
You smirk “You were taking too long.”
He laughs, dizzy and full of stars.
And for the first time in a long while, so do you.

The sun burns above you. You’re lying on the deck of your ship, one leg over the other, a half-empty bottle between your fingers. Ace is beside you shirtless, grinning, sweat on his brow, flame flickering off his fingers like it’s breathing with him.
“You always steal my rum.” you say, kicking him lightly.
“You always keep it warm,” he shoots back “I’m doing you a favor.”
You roll your eyes “Your idea of favors sucks.”
He leans closer, his voice lazy and smug “You didn’t say that last night.”
You groan “Get a new line, fire boy.”
He grins wider. You punch his arm. He fake-winces, like it hurt. It didn’t.
That’s the two of you: teasing, biting, half-fighting, half-kissing. No promises. No labels. Just good fun and bad timing.
Pirate life is rough. You take what joy you can.
“Hey,” you say after a long silence, watching the sky “Wanna hear a secret?”
Ace smirks, eyes still closed “If it’s about that thing you did in the galley with the honey—”
“No, dumbass. A real secret.”
That makes him open his eyes. He turns to look at you “Alright. Hit me.”
You sit up. Serious now. The bottle rests on your knee.
“I have a son.”
Ace snorts “You what?”
You nod, eyes still on the horizon “Yeah. He’s five. His name’s Ren.”
He blinks. You go on before he can interrupt.
“I had him before all this, before the piracy, before you. I got caught in something messy with the Marines. To keep him safe, I left him with my parents. Changed my name. Ran.”
Ace stares.
You keep talking “I go see him when I can. Disguised. Just for a day or two. He thinks I’m some traveling doctor or something. He doesn’t know who I really am.”
You pause. Swallow.
“It’s hell, leaving every time. But I’d rather he grow up safe than have him hunted.”
Ace starts laughing.
You blink “What the hell?”
He’s full-on laughing “Holy shit, you got me! I thought you were serious. What is this, some new kink? Roleplay? Mommy pirate stuff?”
You just look at him.
Dead quiet.
No grin. No tease.
Ace’s smile dies instantly. The flame on his fingers goes out.
“…Wait,” he says “You’re not joking?”
You don’t say anything.
His expression changes fast… shocked, confused, then something close to guilt “You really…?”
You nod once “I’m not playing around.”
He runs a hand through his hair, suddenly tense “Shit.”
“Yeah,” you say, dry “That’s usually the first response.”
He opens his mouth. Closes it. Tries again “Why are you telling me this now?”
You shrug “I don’t know. Maybe because you’re the closest thing I’ve had to a real connection in years. Or maybe I just got tired of lying all the time.”
He stares at you.
You look away “I didn’t expect you to laugh. That sucked.”
“…I’m sorry.”
“Forget it.”
“No,” he says quickly “I’m serious. That was a shitty reaction. I just… I didn’t think you were the kind of person to hide something that big.”
You exhale “Turns out, I’m full of surprises.”
The silence between you is heavy now. Not like before.
Then Ace says quietly, “What’s he like?”
You blink “Huh?”
“Your kid. Ren. What’s he like?”
You smile a little “Stubborn. Smart. Messy. Loves drawing fishes. Hates carrots. Thinks I have the coolest boots in the world.”
Ace nods, quiet. He looks down, then up at you again.
“I meant what I said,” he murmurs “I’m sorry for laughing. And I’m… kinda honored you told me.”
You raise a brow “Didn’t peg you for the emotional type.”
He shrugs, eyes soft “Didn’t peg you for someone with a child.”
Touché.
Ace doesn’t talk much for the next few days.
No flirting. No teasing. Just quiet looks when he thinks you’re not watching.
You try to act normal with some old jokes, same smug grin as always, but you feel it too. Everything changed with that one secret. The space between you now holds more than just fun.
It holds truth. Real, heavy, warm truth.
You’re standing at the helm when he walks up beside you.
“I want to come.” he says.
You glance at him “Come where?”
“When you go see your son.”
Your hands tighten on the wheel “Ace—”
“I’ll stay out of sight. I swear. I just… want to see him. I want to understand what you gave up. What you’re protecting.”
You study him for a moment. His eyes don’t waver. There’s no joke. No smirk.
Just Ace. Real. Honest.
You nod.
Months later — The island is quiet. A small village with stone houses, chickens in the streets, a little bakery that still smells like your childhood.
You pull your hood low. Ace wears a cap, sunglasses... he looks ridiculous, but no one’s looking at him. Just another traveler.
Your parents’ house is at the end of the road. Garden full of wildflowers. Paint peeling on the fence.
Your son is playing outside.
He doesn’t see you at first. He’s chasing butterflies. Laughing. Barefoot.
Ace stops walking.
“That’s him?” he asks, voice rough.
You nod “Ren.”
Ace just stares. His hands slowly curl into fists.
You call out softly, “Ren?”
The boy turns. His face lights up.
He runs to you screaming. You drop to your knees and catch him in your arms. He’s warm. Real. Solid.
Ace looks away.
Inside, your parents keep things short. They know who Ace is. You warned them. They’re not happy, but they trust you.
You all sit outside. Ren sits on Ace’s lap by accident. You try to grab him, but Ace just holds him steady.
“It’s okay,” he says “He’s light.”
Ren shows him a toy ship made of sticks “I made this!”
Ace chuckles “Really? That’s better than some ships I’ve sailed on.”
You stare.
Ren grins proudly “My parent used to tell me stories. About pirates and fire powers. Did you know there’s a pirate who can set his fists on fire?”
Ace raises a brow “Sounds dangerous.”
Ren gasps “But so cool!”
You laugh softly. Ace sends you a small look. It’s gentle. A little sad.
Later, when Ren naps, you and Ace sit on the back porch.
“He’s amazing.” Ace says.
“I know.”
“You’re amazing,” he adds “You left this. For his safety.”
You stare at the grass “I think about quitting all the time. Just staying here. Being at his side full time. But… the world’s not kind. And if they find me—”
“I get it,” he cuts in “You’re doing what you have to.”
You glance at him “I didn’t expect you to care so much.”
He shrugs “Neither did I.”
Then he adds, “But now I can’t stop.”
Your heart stumbles.
“He’s got your eyes.” Ace says softly.
“Don’t get attached.” you warn “This life… it’s dangerous.”
“So is mine,” he says “But that didn’t stop you from letting me in.”
You look at him. Really look.
“I didn’t plan for this...” you whisper.
“Neither did I.”
But here you both are.
And suddenly, fun doesn’t feel like the right word anymore.
The sound of quiet laughter wakes you.
You blink against the morning light, still groggy, still warm under the blanket. It takes a second to remember where you are... your parents’ house, back in your old bed.
And then you hear it again.
Ren’s voice.
And Ace’s.
You sit up, heart skipping.
You slip out of bed, still barefoot, and pad toward the living room. And there they are.
Ren sits cross-legged on the floor, his little wooden ship in one hand, while Ace sits across from him, mimicking an enemy pirate voice.
“Noooo! You got me again, Captain Ren! My ship is sinking!”
Ren giggles and throws a pillow at him “That’s what you get, bad guy!”
Ace dramatically falls back, hands in the air “Ughhh… defeated by the mightiest pirate on the seas…”
Your heart squeezes.
Ace looks so natural. Hair messy. Eyes full of warmth. Like he belongs here.
But then your parents come in.
They freeze when they see the scene.
Ace doesn’t notice at first, he’s laughing with Ren, his smile unguarded.
“Ren.” your mother says, sharply.
Your son turns.
“Come away from him,” your father says quickly, stepping forward “Now.”
Ace blinks, confused “I—”
“Ren,” your mother repeats “Come here.”
Ren looks at you, unsure.
You step in “What’s going on?”
Your father’s jaw tightens “We don’t want him near the child.”
You stare “Excuse me?”
“He’s a pirate,” your mother hisses “A famous one. Fire Fist. He’s dangerous.”
“He’s also sitting on the floor playing ships...” you snap.
Your parents say nothing.
“You trusted me enough to come here with him,” you continue, voice rising “Now you’re trying to pull Ren away like he’s some kind of monster?”
“We’re protecting our grandson.” your father says coldly.
“From what? A man who’s been nothing but kind to him?”
“You don’t know what kind of life he brings.”
“I do,” you shout “I live it too. If you forgot. And yes, it’s dangerous. Yes, it’s hard. But Ace has done nothing but respect my family, protect me, and treat Ren with more care than anyone ever has!”
They go silent.
You’re shaking now, fists clenched.
“And for your information, I love him.”
The words fall like a hammer in the room.
Ren blinks.
Your parents’ eyes widen.
Ace just stares at you.
You don’t move.
You didn’t mean to say it... not like this, not loud, not angry... but it’s out.
And real.
You look at Ace, heart thundering “I love you.”
A beat.
Then Ace stands slowly, eyes locked on yours. He walks to you, quiet. The room holds its breath.
He stops in front of you.
“I wasn’t sure if I should say it first,” he says, voice low “Didn’t want to scare you off. But you beat me to it.”
You blink.
“I love you too.” he says.
He reaches out, gentle, and takes your hand.
Your parents stay silent. Ren looks between the two of you, then claps once like it’s the best thing he’s ever seen.
“Can I have pancakes now?” he asks.
You and Ace laugh at the same time, breathless.
And just like that, the tension cracks.

It’s late.
Most of the crew has gone to bed, except you and Robin. You're both in the library room. She’s reading. You’re not. You're just holding the edge of a piece of paper... frayed, uneven, and pulsing with life.
A vivre card.
You don’t have to look at it to know it’s still there. Still pointing somewhere far away, where you can’t be.
Robin closes her book softly “Is that what’s been on your mind all day?”
You glance over.
Of course she noticed.
You nod “Yeah.”
She tilts her head slightly “Can I ask who it’s for?”
You hesitate.
You’ve never told her. Not because you didn’t trust her, but because it always felt like a story that belonged to a different version of you. The you from before the sea. Before the Straw Hats. Before her.
But she’s already part of everything now.
So you answer.
“My son.”
Robin says nothing but her gaze sharpens. Attentive. Careful.
“He’s with his other parent now,” you continue, voice quiet “I raised him alone before I joined the crew. He’s the one who said it was okay. Actually, we were always together, in another small crew. Then he wanted a different kind of life. One with… peace. So we contacted his other parent.”
Robin nods, slow “He sounds mature.”
“He was always like that. Smarter than me, I think.”
There’s a short silence.
You look at the vivre card “I haven’t seen him since I joined. We talk through letters, sometimes den den mushi. But I don’t know when I’ll be able to see him again.”
Robin’s eyes soften “Do the others know?”
You shake your head “No. Just you.”
She reaches out. Her fingers brush yours, just enough to touch the vivre card “Thank you for trusting me.”
You smile, small but real “I didn’t know how to bring it up. I didn’t want you to see me differently.”
Robin hums “I already see you. Clearly.”
You blink.
She looks at you steady and kind “You carry something heavy. And still laugh with the crew. Still help cook. Still stand beside me in battle. That’s not weakness.”
Your chest aches in the best way.
She pauses, then adds, “If one day… you want to try and see him again, I’d go with you.”
Your voice catches “Really?”
She nods “Of course. I’d like to meet him. He sounds like someone I’d admire.”
You look down at the vivre card.
Still warm. Still burning.
Maybe not as far away as it feels.
It’s just past dinner.
You’re with Robin as she asked you to stay close. A soft excuse about helping her with some documents. You're both sitting on the floor, back against the wall, a soft lamp between you.
You have the vivre card on the table. You don't always keep it out, but tonight you felt the need to hold it.
You glance at the Den Den Mushi nearby.
You hesitate.
Then pick it up and dial a number you’ve had memorized since your hands first held his.
The snail blinks sleepily… then perks up.
“Hello?”
Your chest tightens at the voice.
You smile “Hey, kiddo.”
A pause, then, “IT’S YOU!!”
You laugh, caught off guard by the pure excitement.
“Oh my god—FINALLY! You didn’t forget me, right? You didn’t sail into a storm and disappear forever, right?”
Robin lifts an amused brow, watching you with quiet interest.
“I didn’t forget you,” you say softly “You know that.”
“Just making sure. I’ve been drawing so many sea monsters lately you would not believe. I made a kraken with three hats.”
You laugh again, voice cracking slightly “Three hats? He must be important.”
“Very.” He pauses, then adds, “...I missed you.”
You shut your eyes “I missed you too.”
Robin looks away respectfully, but stays close.
Then, from the snail: “Hey, wait—who’s near you? Are you with someone?”
You glance at Robin, who blinks, caught.
“She’s... a friend.” you say carefully.
Robin speaks, her voice soft “I hope I’m more than just a friend.”
The Den Den Mushi mimics a shocked face.
“...OH MY GOD. IS THIS YOUR GIRLFRIEND??”
You bury your face in your hand.
Robin chuckles lightly, graceful even when embarrassed “Hello. I’m Robin. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
There’s a long pause.
“...You sound really cool.”
Robin smiles “Thank you. So do you.”
“Wait—how much do you know about them? Like... do you know about the time they tried to cook without instructions and set the wall on fire?”
You groan “Don’t tell her that.”
“It was a microwave! The noodles caught on fire!”
Robin’s shoulders shake with laughter.
You shoot her a glare that holds no heat “I regret this entire call.”
“No you don’t.”
And he’s right. You don’t.
Not even a little.
Later, when the call ends, you sit in silence.
Robin’s hand reaches for yours “He’s amazing.”
You nod, voice soft “Yeah. He really is.”
She squeezes your hand gently “He has your spark. And your chaos.”
You smile through the ache in your chest “He’s better than I’ll ever be.”
Robin rests her head against your shoulder.
“You’ll see him again. When the time is right. And I'll be with you... if you want me.”
"Of course I do."
And somehow, with her beside you, that feels like a promise you can believe in.

Stayed Through it All
Summary: You’d spent most of your life convinced you were too quiet, too much, not enough for anyone to stay. But then Bucky Barnes started showing up in your life slowly and gradually became the first person who made you feel like you didn’t have to be anyone or anything else to be enough.

You didn’t mean to let it get this bad.
You didn’t even notice when the loneliness stopped feeling like something temporary and started becoming something permanent.
It was probably after your friend stopped texting back to hang out with their new friend. Maybe it was after your father stopped returning your calls, blaming you for being “too much” when all you’d done was cry quietly on the phone one night. Maybe it was the way your mother’s voice always sharpened when you dared to mention being tired. “You think you have it hard?”
Eventually, you stopped sharing at all. Even in the smallest ways. You nodded along to your coworkers' stories, laughed at the right times, learned to say “I’m good, you?” like a reflex.
But one day turned into a week, then a month of missed calls and unanswered messages. Not that there were many to begin with. Your friends, if you could still call them that, had slowly drifted, slipping into group chats you were no longer in. Family remained… complicated. Cold shoulders wrapped in guilt-trips and sharp words. You’d grown tired of pretending you didn’t notice when they began talking around you instead of to you, or when they only reached out to check boxes you didn’t fit in rather than check on you.
Work had been your only escape, but even that now felt fragile. Hours were cut, supervisors were vague or micro-managing, and you faced an endless stream of people who smiled right through you. It was like being invisible while still somehow feeling too much.
Too sensitive. Too strange. Too needy. You hated how easily you cried these days. How easily you cracked.
It got harder to go home after work with each passing day. The silence in your apartment was different now. It wasn’t peaceful anymore, it reminded you of every thought and thing wrong about yourself. How you must have done something wrong for people to not want you around. How you couldn’t host dinners or parties because there was no one to invite. How even living in this apartment was seen as another disappointment rather than an achievement by your family.
Maybe that’s why you started walking at night, even though you claimed it helped you sleep. Sometimes it did. Sometimes you wandered until your legs ached, until your phone’s battery blinked red. It wasn’t safe, but you didn’t care. You weren’t reckless, you just didn’t feel like you belonged anywhere long enough to be missed.
That night, you weren’t planning to go far. You’d just needed air. You hadn't even bothered with proper shoes, just slipped on your jacket and walked. The streetlamps buzzed overhead as a breeze tugged your hair across your face.
You focused on the ground as you rounded the corner of a quiet street, when you almost ran straight into him.
“Oh–sorry,” You said, stepping back instinctively, your hand pressed to your chest. “I wasn’t paying attention.”
The man raised his hands slightly in a gesture of peace. His eyes were sharper than the streetlamp above you, but not unkind. “You okay?”
You blinked. He was wearing a hoodie and gloves, but you’d seen enough photos on newsfeeds and headlines to know exactly who he was. “You’re… Bucky Barnes.”
He looked surprised for a split second, like he hadn’t expected to be recognized. “Yeah,” he said softly. “I am.”
You gave a small, breathless laugh. Not because it was funny, but because your nerves were starting to catch up. “Didn’t expect to bump into an Avenger tonight.”
“Didn’t expect to get bumped into,” He replied, something vaguely teasing in his tone. “But it’s alright.”
There was a pause. You shifted awkwardly, hugging your arms around yourself. “Sorry if I messed up some kind of mission or something.”
His brow furrowed, then smoothed. “Not exactly a mission, just walking the neighborhood. Making sure things are quiet.”
You nodded. “They usually are.”
He tilted his head slightly, studying you in that quiet way that made you feel like he was seeing too much. “You’re out here a lot.”
You hesitated. “That supposed to be a warning?”
His expression softened immediately. “No–no, I didn’t mean it like that. Just… noticed. That’s all.”
You gave a small shrug, trying not to look embarrassed. “It’s quieter out here than it is at home.”
Something in his eyes changed, recognition. “Yeah,” He said quietly. “I get that.”
You looked at him then. His hood couldn’t hold the weight behind his eyes nor could he hide the way exhaustion lived in his posture. You didn’t know all the details, but the world had made sure you knew enough.
“I’m fine,” You added, mostly out of habit.
“Are you?” He asked gently.
You swallowed, glancing away. “I don’t know.”
There was another moment of silence before he took a slow step back, giving you space. “Do you want company? Just to walk. I won’t talk if you don’t want me to.”
You hesitated. Your gut said no. You didn’t let people in, couldn’t. Not anymore. But your heart, the part that had been bruised and stretched thin and aching for something steady whispered yes.
“…Sure,” You said. “Walking with someone sounds… nice.”
He nodded, falling into step beside you. “And what should I call you?”
You glanced at him and smiled softly, giving him your name. And for the first time in what felt like forever, it felt like someone might care enough to remember it.
Tumblr media
You never said it out loud, but you started looking for him.
Not in an obvious way. Not with expectation. But your heart would lift, just a little, whenever you turned the corner and saw him there. Hands in his pockets, hood pulled low, and watching the world like it might turn on him at any second until he saw you. Then he softened.
He never greeted you loudly. Just a simple, “Hey,” or a nod, like you’d both agreed long ago that this was normal.
And somehow, it became exactly that. Normal.
It wasn’t every night of course, but it was often enough that absence felt strange. A small ache in your chest when he wasn’t on the corner. You told yourself it was fine, that he had a life, a job, a past filled with shadows. You weren’t owed anything.
But you missed him anyway.
There were other nights where you spoke in fragments.
“What do you do when you can’t stop thinking?” You’d asked once, voice barely audible.
“Walk,” He’d said. “Or hit things.”
You’d laughed, and he’d smiled, just a little.
Other nights, it was quiet. Just walking. Just being near someone who didn’t expect anything from you. Someone who didn’t need you to perform happiness or push down your grief.
Bucky never asked about your family. He never pried. But you could tell he knew something wasn’t right. He noticed the tension in your shoulders. The way your voice got flat when you mentioned home. The way you avoided talking about weekends or holidays altogether.
But he didn’t force you to explain. He just stayed.
And on one Tuesday night, you realized something.
You’d left work exhausted, your brain buzzing from a manager’s sharp words and the hollow ache of pretending to be okay all day. You weren’t thinking about much when you turned the corner that night and there he was.
Same spot. Same faint, crooked smile when he saw you.
And it hit you: he was waiting.
Not just showing up. Not just passing by. He was waiting for you.
You swallowed thickly, not trusting yourself to say much.
“Hey,” You managed.
“Hey,” He said, falling into step beside you.
Like always. Like routine. Like something steady that just kept growing.
Because the next night, he was there again. This time, with two paper cups.
“Tea,” He said simply, holding one out to you. “Figured I’d guess this time.”
You took it, your hands feeling the warmth from the cup.
“…You always this nice?” You asked softly, only half teasing.
He glanced at you. “No.”
You smiled faintly. “So why with me?”
He looked away, the way he always did when he was thinking too much. “Because you remind me of me,” He said finally. “Back when I thought no one saw me.”
Your breath caught in your throat.
“…I see you,” You whispered.
He looked at you then, something softening in his expression. “I know.”
And that was the night you stopped pretending it didn’t mean anything. The night you realized you weren’t just walking anymore. You were building something. And Bucky Barnes was becoming part of it.
Tumblr media
One afternoon, you didn’t expect to see him in the daytime.
Your connection lived in the quiet hours. After sunset, under flickering streetlamps, where shadows were long and words were soft. That was your world. The only time you felt allowed to exist without needing to explain yourself.
But then came Saturday and there he was.
You spotted him from across the street. His hands in the pockets of his jacket. He looked more like a guy running errands than a former assassin on patrol.
He saw you at the same time, gave a little lift of his chin and crossed the street with purpose. You froze halfway to the bus stop, unsure why your stomach flipped the way it did.
“Hey,” He said, a little breathless, like he’d hurried.
“Hi,” You replied, confused but smiling anyway. “Didn’t think I’d see you in daylight. Thought you were strictly nocturnal.”
Bucky actually chuckled, quiet and rare. “Yeah, well… I wasn’t sure if this would be weird.”
Your brow furrowed. “What?”
He rubbed the back of his neck. “I was gonna grab lunch. There’s this spot a few blocks away. It’s tiny, but kind of quiet. I figured I’d ask if you wanted to come.”
You blinked. It took you a full second too long to register what he meant.
“Oh,” You said. “Like… lunch. Together?”
“Yeah,” He said, then quickly added, “Just food. I mean, not like–unless you–hell, I’m bad at this.”
You bit back a laugh. “You’re fine. I just… didn’t expect that.”
“I figured,” He said, eyes scanning your face. “If you say no, it’s okay. We can just stick with nightly walks.”
That made your heart ache in a way you didn’t expect.
Because part of you wanted to say no. Not because you didn’t want to go. But because some part of you was convinced you’d ruin it. That he’d realize you weren’t enough.
That someone like him who was kind, observant, and careful, wasn’t meant to stick around people like you. People who carried too much in their chest and didn’t know how to set it down.
But then you looked at him. Bucky Barnes who had every reason to close himself off and still offered you tea when you were shaking, and quiet when you needed space.
And he was asking to spend time with you. Not out of pity. Not out of obligation. Just… asking.
You nodded. “Okay.”
He blinked. “Yeah?”
You smiled. “Yeah. Lead the way.”
The place was small and tucked between a bookstore and a laundromat. It was the kind of quiet that didn’t feel empty, just calm. You sat across from each other at a little table by the window. And for the first time, you talked in full sentences. About music. Food. The ridiculous number of people who apparently still thought Bucky liked plums because of some file Steve mentioned once.
You laughed more than you had in weeks. He smiled more than you’d ever seen.
You caught him watching you a few times, like he couldn’t quite believe you were there. And every time, your heart did that quiet, painful twist that came with realizing someone actually wanted you around.
You didn’t talk about family. Or trauma. Or loneliness. But you didn’t need to. Not yet.
Because for now, you let yourself sit across from a man who kept showing up. And for once, you didn’t feel like a burden for accepting it.
Tumblr media
When it ended, you both had exchanged numbers and you smiled the whole way home. Not a big, giddy grin. Not the kind that buzzed with new love or rose-colored excitement. Just a small, warm curl at the corner of your mouth that wouldn’t go away.
Because the lunch had been… easy. Natural.
You didn’t remember the last time you’d felt like that with someone. Just sitting across from them and not having to work so hard to be interesting, or likable, or fun. You hadn’t needed to fill the silence, because Bucky never made silence feel like failure.
And he’d even paid, grumbled a little about modern pricing, but still held the door open when you walked out.
You should’ve felt safe. Happy. But of course, that voice came back. The one that always did when something good happened.
He was just being polite. He probably felt bad for you. You talked too much. Or not enough. Or said something weird. He’s probably second-guessing it now.
You told yourself to stop, that none of it was true. But you’d lived most of your life watching people lose interest in you like clockwork. So instead of walking with that same lightness you felt at the table, you found yourself shrinking again.
Head down. Hands in your jacket pockets. Smile fading, bit by bit
And to your surprise, texted later that evening.
Just a simple:
Made it home okay?
You stared at it for a full minute.
Then typed:
Yeah, thanks. And… thanks again for lunch. I really appreciated it.
You added a second message, hesitating.
You didn’t have to do all that.
You almost deleted it. But your finger slipped, and it sent.
A minute later, he responded:
Didn’t do it because I had to.
Another pause and he sent another message.
I wanted to.
You stared at those three words for a long time.
The next night, you almost didn’t go on your walk. You weren’t sure if he’d be there. If it would be weird now. If the quiet thing you’d built would somehow be different just because you’d shared a meal like two normal people.
But you went anyway. And when you rounded that corner, heart in your throat, he was there. Same spot. Same faint smile when he saw you.
“You came,” He said.
You swallowed. “So did you.”
“Of course I did.”
And just like that, without needing to explain the ache in your chest or the thoughts still clawing at the back of your mind, he started walking beside you again. As if the doubt within you never stood a chance.
Tumblr media
However, good things never last.
You hadn’t meant to cry.
You’d gotten good at holding things in. Good at keeping your voice even, your expression neutral, your heart locked up behind carefully stacked defenses. You knew how to keep walking. How to keep breathing through the ache.
But some days, some days it didn’t matter how strong you tried to be. And that night, everything hurt.
It wasn’t even about something new. Nothing fresh or sharp. It was the old stuff, the words that never really healed. The ones that resurfaced in this mornings phone call with your father, when he’d said it without hesitation. “You’re just too hard to love, you know that?”
It had gutted you then and it still did.
Because even if you didn’t show it, you’d started to believe it.
The way friends drifted away. The way family only called when they needed something or to criticize. The way people got tired of your quiet, your sadness, your needs. Even when you tried to shrink yourself, to not ask for anything… it was never enough.
You were always too much, and somehow not enough all at once.
So when you walked that night, when you saw Bucky waiting in his usual spot, you almost turned back.
But he saw you. And the moment he did, something in his expression shifted.
You didn’t say anything.
You just walked right up to him, stopped short, and stood there with your arms crossed tight over your chest, like if you let them drop, everything would spill out.
Bucky’s voice was soft. “You alright?”
You shook your head once, too quickly as your voice cracked when you whispered, “Why do you keep showing up?”
He blinked. “What?”
You looked at him then, eyes confused. “Why do you keep coming back? Why do you keep… being nice to me?”
He took a step closer, cautious. “Because I like being around you.”
“You shouldn’t.” The words burst out before you could stop them. “I’m not…– people don’t stay. They get tired of me. They always do.”
“Who said that to you?” He asked quietly, his voice low, steady.
You laughed bitterly. “Does it matter… Friends. Family. Pretty much everyone I ever let get too close.”
You looked away, blinking hard.
“They all said the same thing… that I’m just too hard to love.”
It was out now. Ugly, raw, and terrifying. You waited for him to flinch. To pull away. To prove them right. But he didn’t.
He stepped closer, slow and sure. He didn’t say anything at first. Instead, he reached out, one hand hovering at your shoulder until you gave the tiniest nod.
Then his palm pressed gently against your arm.
“They were wrong,” He said.
You swallowed hard. “You don’t know that.”
“I do,” He said firmly. “Because I know me. And I don’t waste time on people I don’t care about.”
Your throat tightened.
He wasn’t trying to fix it. He wasn’t telling you to be positive or that it would pass. He wasn’t saying it didn’t matter.
He was just there. With you.
“You’re not hard to love,” He spoke softer now. “You were just surrounded by people who didn’t know how.”
And that broke something loose.
The first tear slid down your cheek. Then another. You tried to speak, to apologize, but your voice disappeared behind a sob that ripped straight out of your chest.
You folded into yourself, ashamed, but Bucky caught you. Without hesitation, he pulled you into his arms. Not tight. Not smothering. Just enough.
Enough to say I’m here. Enough to say You’re not too much for me. Enough to say I’m not going anywhere.
And in his arms, safe for once, you let yourself cry.
Really cry.
For the first time in a long, long time.
When the tears had finally stopped, you felt worn out like a storm fading to drizzle. You’d stood in the dark with Bucky for longer than you realized, his arms wrapped gently around you. He never rushed you. Never asked you to talk more or explain.
And when you finally stepped back, breath unsteady but lighter somehow, he didn’t say a word about the crying. Just looked at you like you were whole.
“…I’m okay now,” You’d whispered, not sure if you believed it yet.
His head tilted slightly. “You want to walk?”
You nodded.
And you walked until you were both sitting on a cracked bench outside a 24-hour café near a closed bookstore. He’d offered to buy you something, no pressure, just a question, and you said yes without thinking.
It felt… nice. Like last time. Letting someone do something for you without guilt clinging to it.
You had a small paper cup between your hands of warm chai, still steaming. He had black coffee, of course. Of course he drank it black.
Neither of you spoke for a while, but the quiet wasn’t awkward. It was gentle. Companionable. Like your sadness didn’t scare him. He wasn’t expecting you to bounce back or smile to make him feel better.
He was just there.
You took a small sip, then glanced over at him. He was watching the empty street like he was half on patrol, half at peace.
“Thanks for the tea,” You murmured.
He looked at you then, eyes soft. “Thanks for trusting me.”
You looked down at your drink. “I didn’t mean to cry like that.”
“I know,” He said. “It’s okay.”
You hesitated, then asked softly, “But why didn’t you walk away?”
He didn’t answer right away. He just leaned back on the bench, hands wrapped around his cup like it grounded him.
“Because I know what it’s like,” He said finally. “To think you’re too broken or too much. To think you’ve ruined the moment just by being yourself.”
You glanced at him, surprised at the honesty.
He kept his gaze forward. “I’ve been there. I still go there. But… I also know how much it means when someone stays anyway.”
Your heart ached in a different way now. Not from pain. From being understood.
“Thank you,” You whispered.
“Anytime.”
You sat in silence again, drinking your tea slowly, letting the warmth from the cup seep into your fingers.
The city was so quiet this late. No shouting. Barely any cars. Just wind and dim streetlights.
Eventually, you looked over and gave him a small smile. “You think next time we could get donuts or something instead?”
Bucky’s mouth twitched, his version of a grin. “You saying I’m not a good coffee date?”
You rolled your eyes, but your smile widened. “You’re passable.”
He let out a soft huff of amusement. “Alright, donuts next time. But only if they have the jelly-filled ones.”
You nudged his arm lightly. “You got a deal.”
And just like that, something fragile began to stitch itself back together inside you.
It may not have been fixed or finished. But it was held together by his love and care.
And for now, that was more than enough.

okay, let me talk about this because i'm a horny ball with access to tiktok, and i need to talk about whatever's on my mind, starting with what it's like to kiss Lando baby
my sweet boy might react with a huge smile, giggling, and attacking your face with more kisses; clinging so tightly to your body that you know there's no turning back. You'll have to hold him in your arms until he has to move. But it's not really something that bothers you; he's just sweet, adorable, and you'd give anything to see him smile like that more times throughout the day.
now... there's also another option... when his kiss is slow, deep, with one hand on your cheek and the other on your waist, taking over that space as if it belongs there, touching your skin under your shirt, while he reconnects his lips to yours; this time with more desperation.
and the room echoes with kisses; one after another, while he enjoys and takes full advantage of his privileges as your boyfriend; with his hands running over your body, which he knows by heart.
then he moves down your neck, and you know it's dangerous, that things could get out of control, but you can't say no, not when his gaze melts you, makes you feel small, ready, at his complete disposal.
and if you're on his lap? you better start moving. You'll draw those sweet grunts and gasps from him, with his lips close to your ear, making you listen closely, sending a rush of heat to your pussy, which quickly began to throb.
and you roll your hips, feeling how he reacts for you, while his mouth takes care of biting and marking your neck, as if it were nothing, as if it wouldn't cause you problems later. He was just enjoying too much how your skin is changing color because of him, igniting something inside him that is more primitive, wild, feral, but that you don't dislike at all.
this possible reaction from Lando only leads to an entertaining moment, where you don't need to go fast, since we know he can go slow, hard, and still have you falling apart on his sheets, breaking into a thousand pieces while you whimper his name over and over like a broken record; with your hands fisted on the bed and your cheeks stained with tears from the pleasure that only he knows how to provoke in you.
and even though his gaze changes, and his touch becomes more possessive, when you finish, he's back to being your sweet boyfriend, with a tired, yet boyish, proud, completely annoying smile, and with his hands bringing you closer to his body, while he leaves kisses all over you again, unable to detach himself for a second.
he's obsessed with you, and he just loves you too much, and i can 100% see how a simple kiss from you could have him reacting in either of those two ways, like his call to stick to you.
but that doesn't matter to you, does it? because he's your sweet boy. You'd do anything to see him so happy and excited, especially after the stress of every race and every decision.

Ex-husband!Dad!Eddie Munson x AFAB!Ex-wife!Mom!Reader-
I found the divider on Pinterest! Creds to original poster <3
Word Count: 4.5K
Summary: A couple of months after your divorce with Eddie, you meet his new girlfriend at a Harrington pool party. Too bad she’s a total bitch, though.
Warnings: 18+, Smut, Dom!Eddie, Sub!Reader, Unprotected sex, Eddie doesn’t exactly cheat, Reader and Eddie have two kids together, No use of Y/n, Eddie cums inside reader, Reader has boobs and pussy, PiV, Oral sex (fem receiving), A snarky comment about how reader “should” be eating…These are the main warnings but please feel free to let me know of any I missed, happy reading! <3
Tumblr media
You heard her voice before you saw her.
“Eddie! Grab my purse from the backseat!” You turned over to the wooden gate when it slid open, locking your eyes on her. Roxy, Eddie’s new girlfriend.
‘She’s pretty.’ You decide in your head. ‘Too bad she’s a total bitch.’ There were multiple occasions where your friends had complained about her behavior. The most recent being Nancy complaining about Roxy trying to give her parenting advice when she didn’t have kids herself.
You watched as she made her way to the large white table where you sat at and pull up a chair to sit on. Eddie strolled in a few moments after her, taking a seat next to her and setting her purse down on the table.
Roxy didn’t greet you, and you didn’t bother to speak to her either. If only she knew how to keep her mouth shut. “Do you know how many carbs are in that? Salads are way better for a body like yours girl, trust me.”
Your eyes widened with surprise at the girl's nerves. You shifted your gaze to Eddie’s bright red face. “She serious?” You ask. You turn back over to Roxy, her face stone cold serious. Your eyes didn’t falter as you responded in a cold tone, “I gave birth to two children. My body was a home for them. I am comfortable in my body, sorry you’re not comfortable in yours.”
Your hands made a loud smacking noise as you slammed them on the table, making Eddie and Roxy jump back in surprise. “Fucking bitch.” You muttered as you pushed yourself up from your seat, turning on your feet to walk to the back screen door where Wayne, Steve, and Nancy were standing.
You couldn’t believe it. Who the fuck does she think she is? She had no right to comment on your body. God knows you went through enough of that in High school.
“You alright, sugar?” Wayne’s raspy voice rang through your ears as he flipped a burger patty on the grill. “Yeah I'm just gonna head inside for a couple of minutes, Nance, can you watch the little gremlins for a bit?” She smiled and nodded her head, “Of course.”
You gave her a quiet thanks and made your way inside. Unbeknownst to you, a certain metal head was trailing right behind you. He made himself known with a loud clear of his throat. You tried to ignore him and pretended to be hyperfocused on the bowl of macaroni and cheese resting on the counter.
“Hey,” Eddie walked over to where you stood and reached for your forearms, “I’m so sorry about that. I’ll tell her to watch her words around you-“ You shook your head from left to right. “No, Eddie. Keep her away from me or we will have a problem. Keep her away from my kids too.”
Your eyebrow twitched as it usually did when you got mad and it made Eddie smile. “Alright, sweetheart. Let's go out there and enjoy the day. I still gotta say hi to the little troublemakers.” He smiled at the thought of the children running outside. They were the perfect blend of you two. Everyone could see it.
You both made your way outside, being greeted by more family spread around the Harrington backyard. You greeted anyone who was close enough to hear you and walked over to where Nancy stood talking with Robin. You kept your gaze on Eddie and watched as he ran around with the kids.
You could swear you had heart eyes at that moment. If there was one thing you would never disagree on it was that Eddie was a great dad. The best you’ve ever seen. He cared about his children and it was clear just how much he did. He took the role very seriously.
“Are you getting in the pool? I think I am.” You heard Robin’s voice snap you out of your thoughts. “Maybe later.” You replied.
Tumblr media
A little after the sun began to set, you decided to finally step into the large pool. The surface was gleaming with the sun's glare of sunshine and it looked beautiful. Eddie was already in the water, holding baby June in his arms. The ten month old squealed as her father lightly dipped her in and out the water.
You looked to the edge of the pool, seeing your five year old Ronnie swimming with his bright yellow arm pool floaties clung onto his little arms. “Momma! Look at me! I won Auntie birdie!” Aunt birdie- being Robin- was pouting playfully at the corner of the pool. You summed up from their faces that they had a small swimming race and that Robin had let Ronni win.
“That’s amazing baby!” The enthusiastic tone you had on didn’t let him know that you knew Robin had let him win. He basked in his glory a bit more then moved on to play a new game. Eddie looked up to where you were standing and asked, “You coming in?” You nodded, reaching for your t-shirt. You lifted your shirt from your torso then moved on to the jean shorts you were wearing.
You felt his blazing gaze on your body as you revealed the dark red bikini you had on. It was one of his favorites back when you guys were still together and you knew it. It was exactly why you never bothered to buy a new one.
His eyes tore away from you when June splashed her tiny hands all around him. “You little menace!” Her giggles rang throughout the backyard as Eddie tickled her belly. You stepped in and swam over to them, holding your hands out and calling June's name.
The baby girl looked at you and gave you a big gummy smile. She was such a happy baby. “Are you ruining daddy’s hair?” You cooed when she grabbed a fistful of Eddie’s hair, yanking it lightly into the water. “You encourage this sick behavior? You are a sick woman, sweetheart.” You giggled.
Robin swam over, Ronnie trailing right behind her. She grabbed June from Eddie’s grasp and said, “I’ll take the little munchkins to get some food. You guys enjoy the pool.” You knew what she was doing. The tiny smile on her face as she looked at you said it all. You didn’t try to stop her. Neither did Eddie.
“Alright. Bye Robs.” Eddie said. He stared at you awkwardly for a minute before speaking, “So..how have you been?” You quirked an eyebrow before responding, “I’ve been good…just dealing with the kids. June entered her walking stage so that’s been…something. She just wants to walk into anything that screams ‘danger’.”
Eddie chuckled awkwardly, avoiding your eyes as he did so. You couldn’t stand the awkward act. It made you feel like you guys were strangers all over again. “How about you? How’s life treating you?” You asked him. “Well, I can’t complain. Things are okay for the most part. Wayne was finally promoted to the big manager position so that’s a great thing.”
Your eyes widened in excitement. You knew that one of Wayne’s biggest goals from working at the plant was to become one of the few managers there. “That’s amazing! I’m so proud of him.”
Eddie smiled at your display of affection for his uncle. He couldn’t help but compare the way you and Roxy responded to the news. Roxy had only hummed and smiled when his old man gave them the news. She didn’t bother trying to hide the fact she wasn’t listening to a single word he was saying. He stared at you with a longing gleam in his eyes.
He seemed like he was about to say something but was interrupted by the voice of none other than Steve Harrington. “You guys mind if we join? No? Okay, great.” Not waiting for a response, Steve ran in, jumping and causing a big splash. You squealed and turned away in surprise.
Expecting it to happen, Eddie only smiled and watched as Steve shook his hair out like a dog after a shower. Nancy followed in suit, causing another big splash. This time, Eddie turned away and swam over closer to you.
You both turned back when you heard Steve speak again. “You guys wanna play….” He paused for a dramatic effect. “Chicken fight?” Eddie responded almost immediately, “Game on, Harringtons.” He looked at you and motioned for you to get on his shoulders. You obliged, hopping on with precise movements so you wouldn’t hurt him.
This wasn’t your first rodeo of the game with the Harringtons across you. The most recent time you guys played was back in ‘86, right after graduation when you guys took a trip out of Hawkins.
The game began, you and Nancy squirming on the guys’ shoulders as you fought to push the other into the water. The guys were cheering on, and even Dustin and a little Harrington joined in. You fell in, and Nancy was whooping with pride along with Steve. Eddie turned to you and chuckled when you came up from underwater, hair stuck to your face. “It’s alright sweetheart, we’ll get them next time.”
Tumblr media
The night dragged on, and at around 7:50, Roxy’s voice was heard once again. At some point you had heard her arguing with Eddie on how she didn’t wanna go into the pool because her makeup would be ruined.
“Eddie! I want to go home! I’m tired.” She whined. He heaved out a sigh and began to climb his way up the three steps at the edge of the pool. You decided to get out at that moment too. “I’ll be back, I’m just gonna drop her off and come back for another burger. Wait for me?” One look of his dark brown eyes, and you felt like you were under a spell.
“Yeah, of course. I’ll be here.” You smiled as he tossed his keys in the air once before catching them and walking over to Roxy.
Tumblr media
When he came back, you were already sitting down at the white table and dressed back into the outfit you came in. You held June in your lap as she babbled on to herself.
Ronnie was in the seat next to you with another small burger on the styrofoam plate in front of him. It had gone cold a couple minutes earlier when he began to listen to his uncle Dustin intently. Dustin was rambling on about a new Marvel comic his girlfriend Suzie had gotten him for his birthday.
“Hey, I’m back. I’m gonna get a burger really quick.” He walked over to the grill and served himself before coming back and taking a seat on the other empty seat next to you. Wayne was sitting in front of you, you had been talking to the old man about his new position at the plant and asking him questions about the perks.
“Well I'm very happy for you, Wayne. You deserve this more than anyone I know.” He gave a big smile, looking almost shy at the praise. “Thank you darlin’…Well I oughta be headin’ home. Got a big day tomorrow. I’ll see you guys soon.”
He gave his goodbyes to everyone, hanging a little longer to give plenty of hugs and kisses to his grandkids before finally heading home.
After all the food was done and everyone was worn out from all the socializing, each person bid their goodbyes to the Harringtons and made their way to their respective cars. You and Eddie were the last ones left parked on the edge of the Harringtons sidewalk.
You were about to open the back door to strap the kids in when you heard Ronnie’s little voice behind you. “Daddy, can you come to our house and tuck me and Junie in?” The little boy had your eyes and he knew the effect it had on Eddie. He made his best puppy eyes and stared directly into Eddie’s.
Eddie both loved and hated when he did. Loved because it was just about the cutest thing he’d ever seen. Hated because well…he couldn’t say no to any requests his five year old would make. “I don’t know buddy, ask your momma.” He looked up at you with a smile as the five year old turned to you with the same eyes he used on his father.
You hummed for a couple of seconds and responded in a teasing tone, “Hmm I don’t know Ron, maybe i’ll only let him come over if you…give me a bunch of hugs and kisses.” Your voice went a bit high pitched at the end of your sentence as you dropped down to your knees and wrapped him up in your arms, landing small kisses on his little cheek.
He giggled as you did so and you released him then turned to Eddie. “You follow us in your van?” He responded, “Yeah.”, pulling out his keys and making his way over to the old, beat up van.
“I’ll see you guys there!” He hopped in and started the engine. You quickly strapped June in her car seat and Ronnie in his. He kicked his little legs in happiness and it brought a smile to your face. You could feel the love he had for his dad radiating off him. You began to make your way home, Eddie’s van following right behind your red convertible.
Tumblr media
You arrived a few feet ahead of Eddie's van. He parked right behind your convertible in the driveway, hopping out and walking up to the back door of your car where the kids were. He unbuckled them from their seats, sticking his tongue out in an attempt to make them laugh. It worked, of course.
Once you all were inside, you began your usual night routine, this time with Eddie’s help. It wasn’t often he came over at nights to tuck June and Ronnnie in. He preferred to be over at the house during daytime and to tuck them into bed when they were at his own apartment.
For a moment, it all felt normal again. Like a peace that was never disturbed by the divorce papers you both had willingly signed. After bath time, two bedtime stories, and a load of cuddles and kisses, Ronnie and June were settled in and deep in their sleep.
Eddie flipped the light switch next to the door off and with practiced stealth, shut the door without making a sound. Triumphantly, he turned to you with a smile and took a playful bow.
You giggled, turning on your heel to walk back to the kitchen. You were about to offer him a glass of water, but he beat you to it, surprising you with some news.
“I broke up with her…” His eyes held an expression you couldn’t quite put your finger on. It was hard to tell what he was thinking about at the moment. Of course you were happy he wouldn’t have to deal with her nasty attitudes anymore, but it didn’t mean you still didn’t feel bad.
“Oh, Eddie. I’m sorry.” He shrugged his shoulders casually. “It’s alright, sweetheart. Just glad I won’t have to put up with her anymore. What she said to you was…out of pocket.”
You smiled. Eddie had walkways been so protective of the people he cared about. God forbid June or Ronnie ever got hurt by another person, Eddie would be on their case for the rest of his life. You pondered in your head for a while before gathering the courage to ask, “Do you wanna stay for a while? Watch a movie?” He nodded.
“Yeah, of course.” You both made yourselves comfortable on opposite ends of the couch, you on the left, and him on the right. You went with your favorite movie genre, Horror.
Midway through the movie, you saw Eddie jump back when the red haired murderous clown in the movie got a little too close to the camera through your peripheral vision. You giggled to yourself and turned to look at him.
“You alright there?” you teased. He squinted his eyes in a playful glare. “Glad you find my fear hilarious, sweetheart.” Ever the drama king. You giggled even harder and it brought a smile to his own face. He slowly moved over to where you were sitting, putting both his hands on each side of your torso.
Your eyes widen in fear. You let out a little “no” but his mind was already made up. Squeals escaped your lips continuously as he began to tickle your sides.
”No! No, stop! I’m sorry!” You managed to get the words out in between your giggles. “You’re sorry?” He paused for a few seconds before picking up right where he left off. “G’nna have to do a lot better than that, sweetheart.” He smiled when your giggles got a little louder.
You stopped moving and giggling completely when you felt something prodding your thigh. “What’s?- Eddie…are you?…” He looked mortified. In sync, you both look down to see that Eddie was hard. His first instinct was to push himself off you.
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry.” He put his head in his hands, looking almost ashamed of his hormones. “Eddie..” You tore his hands from his face, forcing him to look at you. “It’s fine. Stop freaking out. We have two kids together.” You attempted to make him feel better but you could still see the embarrassment behind his brown eyes. “I’m sorry, sweetheart.”
You pressed your forehead against his, and pressed a light kiss on his nose. “It’s okay…relax.” He turned his head upwards slightly, about to press a kiss to your lips before pausing midway. “Can I kiss you?” You nodded. “Please do.”
He didn’t hold back, his lips finding place in between yours. His lips sped up like he had been craving it since the last time you guys ever kissed. You didn’t mind, this is what you had been craving for a while. He pulled away, leaning down enough to attach his lips to your neck. Pretty noises escaped your lips when he nibbled on a certain spot.
“Ed-Eddie, let’s go to the room.” You had to pull his head up from his neck when he didn’t respond. His eyes were blown with desire, the brown irises now replaced with wide black pupils. “Yeah-shit, yeah.” You were about to stand from your place when you were swept off the couch in one fell swoop.
A small gasp escaped your lips and you looked at Eddie in surprise. He didn’t speak, only using one hand to shut off the TV. He spun around and made his way into your guys’ old shared bedroom. You trailed kisses down his neck in the meantime and even left a couple of marks on the right side of his neck. God, you just realized how bad you’ve been missing him.
How bad you needed him.
When you guys made it into the room, he laid you down carefully on the bed. “Beautiful girl.” He leaned in again, connecting his lips with yours. His tongue swiped against your lower lip, letting a bit of drool drip down your chin. You granted him entrance, his tongue expertly finding yours and tangling them together in a heated dance that made your thighs clench as best as they could with his leg in between them.
Feeling the tug of your hand on his shirt, he pulled back just long enough to take the black t-shirt off. You caught a glimpse of some tattoos that were etched into his skin permanently, including the one he had gotten for you two years ago.
It was nothing crazy to the point where people could immediately understand he had gotten it for you, just a small piece that only you two understood held a deeper meaning than he let on. Next to come off was your outfit.
Eddie’s hands were cold as they undid the neatly tied bow of your bikini. He pressed his lips between your swell breasts, leaving a path of purple bruises down your stomach. Your back arched into the air in response to his lips.
He pulled himself up just enough to attach his lips to your right nipple. You responded with a whine, him sucking on the rock hard pebble in response.
“Eddie, I need you, please.” Your eyebrows were furrowed in pleasure, a pit of pleasure burning in your stomach. If you didn’t have him soon, you were going to explode. Your hands reached down, undoing his belt buckle with eagerness.
One hand stroked against his dick in the process and it made him grunt in pleasure against your nipple. You pulled his bowers down along with his boxers. He stood up for a minute to shake off the garments so they landed on the floor away from the bed.
When his dick was exposed to your eyes, you reached down between your bodies, tugging on it and giving a couple of strokes to his tip with your thumb. “Fuck sweetheart, you’re gonna make me cum before I can even get in that pretty pussy.” He chuckled.
“Then hurry it up.” You sassed. He reached over to the nightstand next to your bed, moving his hand around inside the small drawer in search of a condom. When he realized there was none, his jealousy spiked up immediately. “Where’s the last condom we had?”
You stared at him sheepishly before responding in a meek voice, “I might’ve had someone over once last month…You can’t blame me! I was really horny.” He stared at you with squinted eyes. “You had a girlfriend anyways!” You tried again, but his face twitched in thought. “You know…I never slept with her.”
You felt genuine surprise. Eddie had always been a horny individual, it was no wonder you guys had two kids. You figured they must have shared a bed more than once while they were dating so you didn’t feel as guilty when you slept with the guy you had over.
“How was I supposed to know?” You muttered. “Doesn’t matter, sweetheart. Y’know why?…because I'm going to make you forget that man. Gonna fuck you so good you’ll only remember my name after.”
His words made you whimper and your thighs got embarrassingly wet with your slick through your jean shorts. He made quick work of taking your shorts and underwear off with the help of your hips lifting off the bed.
He let out a groan when he made contact with your glistening pussy. “I missed her. So pretty.” Using both his calloused hands, he spread your legs open by your thighs before slipping a finger in between your shining folds to toy with your clit.
You let out a moan and grabbed the sheets in a tight grip, your knuckles turning white with the force. “Fuck, I love watching you fall apart for me.” His finger slipped in with his words, thrusting at a sensual speed. Your hips thrust forward. You fucked yourself on his finger for a while before he halted your movements by pressing his other hand on your lower belly.
A second finger slipped in, making you gasp/moan in surprise. The sounds that were coming out of you were unrecognizable and embarrassingly loud, but you couldn’t help yourself- he was making you feel so fucking good.
He leaned in to press a kiss against your folds, then gave an experimental lick to your clit. “Eddie, please. Need your mouth baby.” Never being one to decline the offer, he began to eat you like a starved man.
Wet noises of his tongue flicking up and down filled the room. You managed to keep your voice low enough to the point where nobody but Eddie would be able to hear you. Your shaking legs were a dead giveaway to just how much you were enjoying this anyway.
“Cum on my tongue sweet girl. Wanna taste your cum. Show me how good I make you feel.” You bit your bottom lip harshly to contain the whine that so desperately wanted to get out. “M’close Eddie. So close. Mmm…love your mouth.” You felt his smile against your cunt and looked down to meet his eyes.
One final suck on your clit and you were seeing stars, cumming so hard, your legs were shaking. “Ahh fuck, Eddie.” His tongue flicked up and down for a couple seconds before he came up from between your legs, chin glistening with a mix of your arousal and cum. “Tastes so sweet. Just how I remember.” He winked.
“You ready for me to fuck you, sweet girl?” You wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him in for a kiss. “So ready for you Ed’s.” He reached down and took a hold of his cock, hissing at the contact of his cold hand. You can feel the tip of his cock rubbing through your folds, making you moan, desperate for him to give you the delicious stretch of his dick.
“Shh, I know sweetheart. Just needa be fucked so good don’t ya?” You nodded, your mouth dropping open when he finally thrust his tip in. Out of everyone you’ve ever been with, Eddie was the only man who could ever give you the satisfying feeling of being stretched with only his tip.
His hands found a place on each side of your head as he thrust his hips forward, making inch by inch enter you slowly. “Fuck me, Eddie. Please baby, I need it so bad.”
He couldn’t hold back anymore, pounding his hips against your pelvis over and over at a steady but fast pace. “Fuck baby. So tight. Mmm squeezing my cock so fucking good.” You mewl loudly in response.
“M’yours Eddie. Pussy made only for you.” The sounds of his full balls smacking against your ass filled the room. It only fueled Eddie’s primal urge to fill you up with every last drop of his cum. A string of little “ah ah ah’s” left your mouth when his thrusts didn’t relent. His tip managed to nudge against the spongy spot that made you see stars.
“Right there Eddie. Don’t stop, please.” He chuckled darkly. “Wasn’t plannin’ on it sweetheart. Never wanna stop fucking this pretty pussy. All mine.” His lips met your harshly, spit mixing and teeth clashing against each other. There was no holding back your moans anymore.
You moaned loudly into his mouth when you felt the band in your stomach snap. Your hands trailed behind his back, leaving dark red scratches along his pale skin. You came with a loud moan, your legs shaking once again.
He came a second after you did when he felt the squeeze of your cunt against his dick. “Fuck, sweetheart. G’nna fill you up so full of my cum, give you a third baby. Wanna see you all pretty and pregnant with my child again.”
When you both came down your highs, he pulled out slowly, hissing at the cold breeze when he left your warm hole. He reached over the edge of the bed and grabbed his abandoned shirt, using it to wipe up the remaining drops of his spend on your pussy. When he finished, he dropped down next to you, pulling you close to him and wrapping his arms around your neck.
“G’night sweets.” You smiled against his chest. “Goodnight Eddie.”
Note: Pleas enjoy this horny monstrosity while I work on November Rain part two <3

Steve had this kind of stray puppy thing going on that Wayne was reluctant to give him a shovel talk. And he didn't even do anything! All he did was sat there with his perfect posture—straight back, hands politely folded on his lap, big earnest eyes, and calm breathing. He was all good-mannered and nervous smiles, which was both annoying and endearing.
Now, Wayne wouldn't call himself soft or lenient when it came to securing his nephew's happiness. But maybe, he'd mellowed out because of old age. Or maybe, he'd seen how Steve always brought out the best of Eddie, making him the kind of man that Wayne was proud of.
Either way, Wayne didn't have the heart to threaten Steve with something truly malicious, so he just skipped right over it and ended the talk with a well practiced stern look that made the Harrington boy cower just fine.
Later that night, when Eddie came home with a goofy, lovesick smile, Wayne couldn't help but ask, "Anyone given ya the talk, yet?"
"What talk?" Eddie plopped down beside him on the couch and took a long swig from the bottle of Guinness he'd just retrieved from the fridge. A metaphorical lightbulb went off above his head when Wayne gave him a raised brow. "Ah yes, The Talk. 'Course. I'd be offended if they didn't!"
Wayne hummed and continued nursing his lukewarm beer while watching the TV, ignoring Eddie's curious look that slowly turned mischievous.
"What? I just left you guys alone for fifteen minutes and you already adopted him?"
"He's your boyfriend, Ed, not some stray," Wayne responded gruffly, but Eddie could easily hear the exasperation in his flat tone.
"Jesus," Eddie cackled, slapping his knee as if he couldn't believe it. "You're worse than Hopper, old man!"
This time, Wayne just stopped pretending to not care and smirked at his nephew's nativity.
"Ya really think it took that man longer than me?"
Eddie paused and let out a gasp, eyes widening as realization dawned on him.
"He threatened to hunt me down if I dare to hurt Steve." Eddie slapped his forehead. "No way it'd take him months to adopt baby Steve on sight!"
Wayne nodded, not so smugly. "Now you're talkin'."
He'd eat his pickup truck if Hopper didn't also immediately yield under those puppy eyes. The Harrington might not be the best kind of people, but Wayne had to admit that their son was a sweet soul with a big heart. No thanks to them, of course.
"Anyway," Eddie smirked, nudging at his shoulder teasingly. "You're not distracting me from the fact that you consider Steve family now."
Wayne shrugged, unbothered. Family was family. He'd lived long enough to know it had nothing to do with blood relation.
"'Course, he's your boy."
And though neither of them said it aloud, they both agreed that Steve had been a Munson since the day he saved Eddie's life and continued to make it better with his presence alone.
"Thank you," Eddie said softly a moment later when they were about to go to bed.
The only good thing that came out of the whole 'earthquake' incident was their new apartment, which was afforded by the government's compensation money. And even so, if Wayne was allowed to choose again, he'd rather they still lived in their shoebox of a trailer than watch his nephew suffer from blatant PTSD that none of the kids were willing to talk about and this town's blind hatred.
"He makes you happy and you love him. That's what matters to me." Wayne shrugged, ignoring Eddie's blush and sputtering N– No, I'm not!
Before Eddie could try to argue against a moot point, the phone rang and he sprinted toward it to snatch the receiver up as if fearing it'd disappear otherwise.
"Hey, sweetheart," Eddie said breathlessly, looking far too smitten for someone who'd just refused to admit he was in love.
Shaking his head, Wayne decided to leave his nephew be for now. The way he saw it, Eddie wouldn't be able to hold back for long. Not with someone like Steve Harrington.

Minutes ago...
“You're sure this is a good idea?” Kylie asked, her heels tapping quickly against the hallway floor as she attempted to keep up with James' pace- but right now he was a man on a mission, and he was not slowing down for anyone.
“Of course!" He grinned, turning to face her, "Worst case, we say we forgot she had plans. Best case?” He smirked, “We catch them being horny and weird, and we get to make fun of her forever!”
Kylie stopped in front of the door and fished around in her bag for her spare key, whilst James pressed his ear up against the door, listening.
“I can hear something. Are they... laughing?” His brows furrowed as he waved a hand for Kylie to join him.
“Probably-“
THUMP
“What was that?” James gasped, wide eyed.
Kylie grinned and shoved the key into the lock
“Let’s find out.”
The door slowly creaked open.
Kylie stepped in first and immediately froze. James bumped into her shoulder as he followed behind.
“What-“
And then he froze too...
Because on the couch, front and centre stage, barely five feet away from them, was you and Noah.
Or you straddling Noah, his hand on your hips, your forehead against his shoulder.
James blinked, before turning to Kylie to whisper.
“Are they-“
“OH MY GOD,” Kylie shrieked, not bothering to keep quiet as she sounded somewhere in between thrilled and horrified. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!”
You yelped, recoiling like you’d been caught stealing candy.
“KYLIE?!”
Noah groaned under his breath, already covering his face with one hand like he’d foreseen this exact scenario in a nightmare.
James stared, wide eyed in stunned silence, and then calmly said.
“Are you… dry humping him on the couch?”
You scrambled upright, bashing your leg into the coffee table in your rush to escape.
“OW FUCK! No! I- we were sparring!”
“Are you sure?” Kylie asked sweetly. “Because it kinda looked like you were trying to fuck him into the upholstery.”
“Jesus Christ.” Noah mumbled under his breath as he sat up.
“Your form was solid, though." James said as he took a step forward, "Good hips.” He nodded, his hand stroking his chin as if he were a judge on a TV show, "Only thing I'd say you could improve on is-"
“JAMES,” you shrieked. “GET OUT!! BOTH OF YOU!!!”
They both giggled as they backed out of the door. You rushed to slam it shut behind them, making it rattle in its frame.
And for a minute, all you could do was stand there, your back to the room, hand still on the door handle.
You couldn’t breathe. You couldn’t move, couldn’t even look at him.
You’d never wanted the floor to swallow you more in your entire life.
You had just been on top of him in front of your best friends.
Oh god. You were never going to hear the end of this.
You thought you should say something to Noah, though you weren't entirely sure what you should say in a situation like this. So, you swallowed hard, your throat burning as you opened your mouth.
“I…” you said, finally turning just enough for him to hear you speak, your eyes still locked firmly on the floor. “You can have a shower if you want. Or… you can just go. It’s fine.”
For a moment, Noah didn’t move. He didn’t say anything.
And you still couldn’t look at him.
Your heart pounded so loudly in your chest that you could barely hear how suffocating the silence actually was. You tucked your hands into the sleeves of your gym shirt, as if that could help you.
“I’m really sorry,” you said, voice quieter now. “About everything. About them. About… that.”
Still, nothing.
You peeked up at him for the briefest second.
He was sitting exactly as you’d left him, on the edge of the couch, head in his hands, forearms resting on his knees. His brows were drawn tight, his lips pressed into a line, eyes fixed somewhere on the carpet, far away. He looked like he was thinking too hard.
And then he got up. He quickly threw his hoodie on and grabbed his gym bag.
“Save it. I’m the one who should be sorry.” He mumbled as he passed you on the way to the door.
He didn’t look your way once. He just reached for the handle with no hesitation.
And left.
You didn’t text him all week, and he didn’t text you either.
Not that you expected him to, he looked pretty pissed when he left and that only made you feel more awful about it all. You made him uncomfortable, and now you were afriad he would never talk to you again- because this time he actually had a valid reason.
Every time you unlocked your phone, you thought about texting him. But you didn't know what to say... Hey, its me, sorry! or Did I ruin everything? or Sorry you had to push me off your lap in front of my best friends, still up for class on Tuesday?
A few days later, your friends came over to make up for that night. But they noticed you weren't yourself, and they admitted to feeling guilty about it, but you reassured them it had nothing to do with them, and everything to do with you.
“Has he texted you yet?” Kylie asked gently as she handed you a cup of tea, as if she didn’t already know the answer. You couldn't even look at the tea. It reminded you of him. How he had let you try his, how he had paid for you at the café, how you had screwed everything up before it could even start.
You shook your head, placing the mug down onto the table before curling deeper into the blanket cocoon you’d wrapped around yourself on the couch.
“Nope.”
“Are you going to text him?”
“Nope.”
She gave you a look, crossing her arms as she stood above you.
“Babe.”
“I can’t,” you groaned. “What if he thinks I’m still trying to... I don’t know, hump him on the couch again?!”
James popped his head in from the kitchen, a spoon hanging out of his mouth.
"I'm sure he'd happily accept, did you see the look on his face? I thought he was about to-"
“JAMES!”
“I’m just saying." He shrugged, a grin creeping up on his face, "I'm sure he'd love for you to "fall" on top of him again.”
“Don’t listen to him.” Kylie rolled her eyes as she sat down on the couch beside you.
You groaned and buried your face in the blanket.
“I’m going to cancel my gym membership. I'm never showing my face there again.”
“No,” Kylie said firmly. “You’re not.”
You peeked at her through a little slit in the blanket.
“You can’t stop me!”
“I can,” she replied, tugging the blanket away from your face, “And I will. You love that gym, and you love kickboxing. You finally found something you enjoy and you’re good at, and you’re going to throw it away because you dry humped your hot trainer on a Tuesday?”
“I didn’t-”
“You did.” James called from the kitchen. “And it was hot!”
“Shut up, James!”
Kylie leaned in, lowering her voice.
“You didn’t do anything wrong. Neither did he. You tripped and things escalated from there. And I thought you said he was the one who encouraged you to move... on him."
"I thought so, but what if I was wrong? He kept telling me not to move, even when I was trying to get off of him but then that happened... And then you guys walked in. You weren't even supposed to be coming, and I told him that! I'm just worried I made him mad, he couldn't even look at me before he left."
“Babe,” Kylie said gently, “Noah’s not mad. He probably left because he panicked, not because he didn’t like it.”
"So why hasn't he texted me?"
"Why haven't you texted him?"
You stayed quiet, chewing your lip.
“You’re not cancelling your gym membership,” she said again. “You’re going to go to the next class like a grown up and face it. And if he acts weird, then he’s the problem. Not you.”
You stayed buried in the blanket, but your voice was soft when it came out.
“…Will you walk me there?”
“Of course.” Kylie smiled.
...
You’d been anxious all day. You didn't sleep the night before, you couldn’t eat, you couldn’t focus at work. You couldn’t stop thinking about that damn night, and regretting every moment of it.
Your apartment was a mess, responsibilities you've ignored over the last few days were piling up, both clean and dirty laundry piled on the dining table, dishes filled the sink, but all you’d done for the last hour was sit on the edge of your bed, staring at the hand wraps Noah let you borrow last week. The ones you didn't get a chance to give back before he left.
You had taken better care of them than you had yourself for the last few days, you googled if they needed washing, what to use and how to clean them correctly, what's the right way to dry them...
Now, they sat in your lap like they weighed a hundred pounds.
You told yourself that if things went wrong tonight, if he glared at you from across the room, if he ignored you, acted like he hated you, then you were simply only there to return them to him. You'd hand them back. Say thanks. Leave. Cancel your gym membership. Move across the planet.
It was barely a plan. But it was the only thing holding you together right now.
A sudden knock at the door made you flinch, pulling you back from your thoughts as you tossed the wraps down onto your bed and made your way across you apartment to open it.
You could already hear James' voice from the other side of the door. And as you slowly pulled it open, you were met with two overly happy best friends.
Kylie was leaning against the doorframe behind him, arms folded, and James was stood directly in front of you, holding two coffees, you already knew one would be used as some kind of bribe.
“You ready?” Kylie asked, noticing how you were already in your gym clothes.
“Absolutely not.” You shook your head, but just as you were about to shut the door on them, something got in your way.
It was James' arm. Holding out a coffee.
“Drink this, put some shoes on and grab your bag.”
...
You barely spoke on the way out of your apartment, because you still weren't sure this was a good idea. The walk to the gym was barely even five minutes, but it was long enough to feel your life flash before your eyes.
James continued to sip his coffee, oblivious to your meltdown, whereas Kylie kept glancing over at you- probably to check up on you, though you thought she was making sure you hadn't ran away in the time it took her to push the main door open.
You took a deep breath as you stopped at the curb opposite the gym. It felt like you hadn't been here in years, when only two weeks had passed.
“I can’t go in." You whispered, shrinking into your hoodie like it might shield you.
“You can,” Kylie said, looping her arm through yours. “And you will.”
“What if he ignores me?”
“Then he's an asshole and he doesn't deserve you." She said simply, already steering you toward the crossing.
The light turned green, but you didn't budge.
“Come on.” Kylie tugged your arm.
“I’ll throw up!”
“You won’t.”
“I’ll cry!”
“You might. But that's okay.”
Your feet stayed rooted.
“Kylie-”
Kylie gave James a nod, and he quickly grabbed your other arm, coffee still in hand, and the two of them physically dragged you across the street.
“KYLIE. JAMES. STOP!!”
“Relax,” James waved his hand. “No one even knows what you did. Except us. And Noah. And the couch. And maybe even Aaron, depending on where you hid him.”
You groaned, the building was growing closer with every forced step.
The doors were right there now. Right in front of you.
You knew you had to do this, because what's the worst that could happen? Your life would go back to the way it was 6 months ago, and Noah would find a new girl to teach, to tease, to hold-
That was all the motivation you needed. Suddenly, you feet were moving before you could even attempt to stop, and you had made it into the gym.
As the glass doors slid shut behind you, you turned back to your friends, giving them an unsure wave.
But, as you reached the door to the usual room, you hesitated.
You peeked through the glass panel on the door, just to see if he was there- and yep! You spotted him immediately.
He was across the room, standing in his usual spot, your usual spot, but he was laughing with two guys you didn’t really recognise. They’ve never been here before. Noah looked genuinely happy, like he didn't have a care in the world, and you don't know why that stung the way it did.
Your fingers tightened around the strap of your gym bag, wondering whether or not to leave. You could slip out and nobody would notice. Noah certainly didn't look like he was bothered by your absence.
But you couldn't leave. Not with his hand wraps in your pocket. Or else you’d be reminded of him every time you saw them in your drawer of shame, along with your crochet hooks and acrylic nail kits, and other items from hobbies you had given up on a long time ago.
You swallowed hard, forcing your legs to move, forcing your arms to reach out just enough to push the door open.
Your shoes tapped lightly against the floor as you crossed the room, weaving between bodies, keeping your eyes on him.
You felt more nauseous with every step, and as soon as he was in arms reach, you felt a little light headed, like you might pass out.
You took a breath, barely holding it together as you reached him. You tapped his arm gently, his skin warm under your cold fingertips.
“Noah?” Your voice came out small, a little unsure, but he quickly turned to face you. “Can we… talk?”
For a second, he looked like he wasn’t sure what to say... but before he could answer, Tasha's voice rang across the gym.
“Alright everyone, warm up time! Partners or solo, let’s go!”
Your heart sank. But Noah gave a small, apologetic tilt of his head, offering you a softer look this time, one that was more familiar, more him.
“After class,” he promised quietly. “I’ll find you.”
You barely had time to nod before he was tugged away by one of his friends, the one with the beard and darker hair, leaving you alone.
Great!
With a sigh, you shrugged off your hoodie and dropped your bag by your usual spot on the bench. After a quick sip of water, you began to stretch near the edge of the mats. Everyone else had already partnered up, pairs sprawled across the room, laughing, bouncing lightly on their feet, and there you were. Alone.
You bent to fix your shoes, fiddling with the laces, when a voice spoke beside you.
“You wanna partner up?”
You glanced up.
One of Noah's friends, the one with the slight baby face, smiled at you. His hair was dirty blonde, and you noticed how one of his arms was completely covered in tattoos, matching the one fully covered leg.
"Sure!" You straightened, blinking.
With a kind smile, he held out a hand.
“I'm Matt.”
...
You swiped the back of your wrist across your forehead, the warm up had been a little more intense today, and you already felt a little sticky with sweat.
You had been trying your best to ignore Noah, and it had been working so far. You hadn't glanced his way once, and every time you could hear his voice, you blocked it out- or tried to at least.
But now you needed a drink. You wandered over to the where you left your bottle and took a sip before leaning against the wall to catch your breath. That’s when you noticed Matt struggling to wrap his hands. You spotted how one hand was wrapped too loose, and the other was looking like a tangled shoelace.
You couldn’t help the small laugh that slipped out, and Matt’s head snapped up, his eyes narrowing as you approached, still smiling to yourself.
“Need some help?” You asked, already reaching for the wrap.
Matt made a face, you couldn’t tell if he was somewhat amused or offended.
“It’s harder than it looks, alright.” He said, watching your hands.
You chuckled under your breath, gently taking his left hand, fingers brushing his wrist as you started unravelling the mess.
“You’ve got them a little twisted,” you explained, smoothing the fabric out. “You’ll cut your circulation off if they’re like that.”
“You seem to know what you’re doing.” He pointed out.
You shrugged, carefully looping the wrap across his knuckles, the way Noah had shown you a dozen times now.
You were even slightly surprised you knew what you were doing. But Noah didn’t have to know you knew how to do it, you liked the way he did it for you.
“I had a good teacher.”
Matt thought nothing of it at first, and you finished wrapping his hands. You let yourself glance over at Noah now, just the once, and you kinda wished you didn't. He had just slipped his black gloves on, his chest was still rising and falling pretty quickly from the warm ups, and he was grinning at whoever his other friend was. His hair had fallen over his eyes a little, his biceps looked a little too biteable-
"I think we should spar," Matt said, making you flinch as he pulled you out of your Noah induced daze, "But you'll have to go easy on me, I'm still pretty new at this."
"Yeah," you nodded, your pulse still racing, your cheeks still slightly hot from looking at the guy across the room, "We should."
You both slipped on a pair of gloves, and then you looked at Matt... You tilted your head, giving him an unimpressed once over. His stance was okay, but his feet were too wide apart, shoulders too tight. You knew it wasn’t going to work.
“You’re gonna fall like that.” You pointed out, stepping closer before he could argue.
Matt’s brows lifted, but he didn’t argue as you nudged at his foot with yours to adjust his position.
He stayed perfectly still, watching you with amused eyes as your hand skimmed down his arm, gently repositioning his elbow and wrist.
“Getting real hands on already,” he murmured, grin widening. “If I’d known you were this friendly, I’d have showed up sooner.”
You laughed softly, giving his shoulder a quick push to test his balance.
“If you showed up sooner I probably wouldn’t have had to correct you.”
“Yeah, yeah,” he chuckled, rolling his neck, “Show me what you got!”
And you did exactly that.
You both sparred for a while, dodging each others moves, laughing as you kept him on his toes. It was clear he wasn’t expecting you to be so good at this, and in all honesty neither were you. You dodged nearly every hit he threw, slipping just out of range, each time his frustration growing more obvious.
“Okay…” Matt exhaled, shaking his head as you ducked another jab, your grin only growing. “You’re way better than I thought.”
“Like I said, I had a good teacher.” You shrugged, your gaze meeting Noah's for just a moment.
Matt’s eyes shot across the room for the briefest second, then, a knowing smirk crawled across his lips.
“Oh… you’re that y/n,” he muttered, stepping forward faintly, “Yeah… Noah always talks about you.”
“He does?” You raised an eyebrow.
Matt didn’t reply right away, he continued to move, forcing you to follow. His grin widened, cocky now.
“All the time… y’know he never really cared too much about the gym before, but now he makes sure he doesn’t miss this class if he can help it. He said he trains with a pretty girl…” His voice dropped to a more teasing tone. “But you should hear him when he gets home… we’ve got paper thin walls.”
He let the words hang, a slow smirk spreading across his face as he watched your guard slowly drop before he continued.
“Your names real familiar by now, I thought I was just hearing things the first few nights,” he added. “Turns out, he’s not exactly quiet when he’s thinking about you.”
Your breath hitched, heart picking up speed. Matt’s grin only widened as he dodged your wobbly jab effortlessly.
“Yeah… one sleepless night was all it took for me to figure out what kind of ‘training’ goes on in his head,” he said. “Can’t unhear it now.”
Before you could respond, he made a move since your guard was down. It was just a quick kick that caught your side, but it knocked you off balance. You stumbled, laughing as you landed hard on your ass.
Matt grinned down at you.
“Gotcha!”
“You asshole!” You chuckled, reaching out for his hand as he offered to help you up.
But just as you made it back to your feet, you heard his voice.
“Swap with me.” It wasn’t a question, Noah was already tugging his gloves off.
“Noah?" Your brows furrowed.
“Dude, I didn’t mean to-“
“Don’t care. You’re with Davis now.” He said, already taking Matts place on the mat.
Matt rolled his eyes, but seemingly knew better than to fight.
“Fine, fine!” He sighed, giving you a small smile and a gentle wave as he wandered off.
“Are you okay?” Noah asked, his voice laced with panic as he turned his attention back to you. “That looked like it hurt.”
“Noah, I’m fine. Really. He didn’t knock me down, I slipped… You know what I’m like.”
“But he caught you off guard, he shouldn’t have done that.”
He was right. He did catch you off guard…
One sleepless night was all it took for me to figure out what kind of ‘training’ goes on in his head…
“C’mon, let’s take a break.” Noah nodded towards the benches by the side of the mat.
You didn’t fight him. Mostly because your lower back was already starting to throb from where you hit the floor, and the adrenaline was wearing off quick.
The second you sat down, you winced. You shifted a little, but it was enough for Noah to notice, his brows furrowing immediately.
“Where?”
“Where what?” You blinked.
“Where does it hurt?” His tone left no room for argument, his gaze sweeping over you like he was assessing every inch for damage.
“It’s nothing.” You tried to say, but he was already crouching in front of you, his hands- still wrapped but he had ditched the gloves now- were resting lightly on your knees, waiting for permission to check.
He tilted his head, eyes softer now as he said it again.
"Tell me where it hurts."
Your cheeks flushed.
"Just... near the bottom of my back."
“That’s what I thought.” He said, stepping over the bench so he could get behind you. His thumb carefully brushed the hem of your shirt, “Lift this a little?”
You swallowed, fingers trembling slightly as you pulled your shirt up. His thumb gently dipped beneath the waistband of your leggings, moving them down just the slightest bit, just enough for him to see the faint mark blooming across your skin.
His jaw flexed. His thumb traced the space just beside the bruise, never on it, never pressing.
“He shouldn’t have done that.” Noah muttered under his breath, more to himself than to you as he stepped back over the bench.
“It was my fault, I wasn't paying attention-”
“No, it wasn’t.” He said, crouching down to your level. “You don’t blame yourself for that.”
You weren’t sure what to say, so you settled for a weak smile.
“Stay here,” he said, standing. “I’ll grab some more water.”
When Noah returned with two bottles of water, sitting beside you on the bench, something had changed. Now that you weren’t on the floor in pain, you had both remembered.
He handed you the bottle, but neither of you spoke.
You both sat there in silence, you were thinking of how to word what you wanted to say, and so was he. In all the weeks of coming to the gym and seeing Noah, nothing had ever felt as awkward as it did right now. Not even the time you misjudged and kicked him in the balls.
It was just too quiet.
You fiddled with the bottle cap, twisting it open and taking a sip just to avoid saying what you knew was coming. Noah ran a hand through his hair, his own bottle untouched.
Then, finally, when you both spoke at once.
“So about last week-”
“I should probably explain-”
You both cut off, blinking at each other, the corner of his mouth lifting with a little awkward grin.
“Sorry." You mumbled, laughing under your breath.
“No, you first.” He offered, voice lower and quieter than usual- nervous perhaps, though he hid it pretty well.
You hesitated, chewing the inside of your cheek before glancing at him.
“I… thought you were avoiding me.”
“I thought you were avoiding me.” He said, his eyebrows raised in surprise, and a little amusement.
You breathed a soft laugh, fiddling with the thumb hole in your sleeve.
“I wasn’t. I was just… embarrassed, and I thought you wouldn't want to talk to me again.”
He tilted his head slightly.
“Why?”
“Because…” You looked away, staring down at the bottle in your hands, thumb running over the ridges of the plastic. “Because my friends barged in, and it was embarrassing for me. And I thought it was for you too, and then you couldn't even look at me afterwards... I thought I made you mad."
Noah stayed quiet for a second, his gaze fixed on you, though you were still looking down at your bottle. After a moment, you heard him exhale softly, like he was trying to ease something off his chest.
“You didn’t make me mad,” he said, his voice gentle, "Not at all."
You peeked up at him. His brows furrowed a little as he sat back, water bottle resting loose in his hands.
“I couldn’t look at you,” he admitted, the faintest edge of embarrassment touching his tone, “Because I thought I messed it up.”
"Messed what up?” You frowned.
“That night,” he said, gaze dropping to the ground for a second before meeting yours again. “I should’ve asked before I touched you like that. I wasn’t thinking straight… And when they walked in, I saw your face, I thought... I thought I pushed you too far. You looked… I don’t know. Scared. Like you regretted it.”
“Noah,” you whispered, shaking your head quickly, “I wasn’t scared. And I didn’t regret it.”
He didn’t answer right away, but the tension in his shoulders eased a little, though hus eyes searched yours like he wasn’t sure if he could believe you yet.
“I didn’t stop you,” you added softly, the words barely above a whisper, "Because I wanted it too."
Noah was quiet for a moment, like he was taking your words in. Then, with a little nod of his head, he hummed.
“Okay,” he said with a soft chuckle. “Well, I'm glad we're both idiots.”
You laughed at that, nodding your head as you felt the weight on your chest finally lift for the first time in days.
"We are."
Now, the silence between you felt comfortable. You sighed contently, like you could finally breathe.
However, the silence didn't last for long. Because your stomach decided now was the perfect time to let out a long, humiliating growl!
grrrrrhrggghhhg
Your eyes widened in horror, and you felt your cheeks heat in embarrassment. Noah’s brows raised slightly.
"Are you hungry?" He asked, his voice soft as his eyes met yours again.
You opened your mouth to deny it on instinct, but his head tilted knowingly, cutting you off before you could speak.
“Don’t lie,” he murmured, eyes narrowing in playful warning. “I’ve been watching you. You've not been yourself, your hands are shaky and you let Matt knock you on your ass… how long’s it been since you ate?”
"Last night," you confessed, fiddling with your bottle again, "I've felt too sick, too nervous to eat all day. I've been worrying about seeing you, I was worried you wouldn't want to talk to me."
“Hey,” he said gently, his voice softening. “I told you… I’m the idiot who thought you wouldn’t wanna talk to me.”
Your lips parted like you wanted to say something, but you couldn’t.
Noah exhaled softly, eyes still steady on yours before he leaned down, reaching for his gym bag beside the bench. After a moment of rummaging, he pulled out a protein bar, the wrapper slightly crumpled but still intact.
"This is all I've got," he said, sounding almost a little disappointed , like he genuinely wished he could pull a full meal out of his gym bag for you, "I guess it's better than nothing."
You smiled faintly, your nerves unraveling just enough to let a breathier laugh slip out.
“It’s fine,” you murmured, reaching for it, “Thank y-”
But before your fingers could brush the wrapper, he held it just out of reach, brow raised, the corner of his mouth curving ever so slightly.
“Only if you let me take you to dinner after class." He bargained softly, "Wherever you want."
My bed?
Your lips parted, eyes darting between his and the protein bar like you were considering the terms of a contract.
“It doesn’t have to be a date,” he added, “I already told the guys I’ll drop them home so I'll do that first... then we’ll get food. Is that okay? You can still have the protein bar if you say no by the way.”
The sincerity in his tone made your heart warm. You nodded once, small but certain, and he finally handed over the bar.
“Good.” He smiled.
You hesitated, eyeing the wrapper suspiciously, then took a cautious bite… and instantly grimaced.
“Oh my god,” you mumbled around the dry, chalky mouthful, “I've had one of these before... and I swore I'd never touch one again!"
Noah chuckled under his breath, stealing the rest from your hand and finishing it off himself with zero hesitation.
"Dunno what you mean, they're delicious!" He teased, though it was clear he was trying not to scrunch his face up.
Despite everything, you smiled, settling back on the bench beside him, shoulders brushing slightly. For the first time all week, you could actually breathe.
"I'd ask if you want to get back on the mats," Noah said, looking over at where you had left your gloves, "But I don't want to risk you passing out on me."
"Wouldn't be my most graceful moment." You laughed softly, nudging his shoulder.
Noah's lips parted, like he was about to say something. Then, his eyes drifted across the room towards his friends. They looked like they were meant to be sparring, but instead they were messing around, seeing who could wrap their arms and legs around a punching bag and stay on for the longest.
"Okay," Noah sighed under his breath, "If they don’t wanna be sensible..." He stood, grabbing both your gym bags without asking, slinging his own over his shoulder. "We’re leaving."
"You sure?" You asked, standing slowly.
"They’re barely training, you nearly fainted, and I promised you food. Let’s go."
You smiled, following him across the mats as he called out to the other two.
"We’re done. Grab your stuff."
Matt groaned dramatically but obeyed, the darker haired one- you heard Noah say his name was Davis- shrugging as they followed on behind you.
You didn’t miss how all three of them were wearing something with the words Bad Omens on it... Noah's shorts had the name printed down the side, Matt had a black hoodie with a design on the back, and Davis wore a tshirt with the name on the front. It could've bene a coincidence, but you've noticed Noah seems to wear a lot of things with that name on...
"What's a Bad Omens?" You asked, eyeing the clothes. "You guys in some sort of cult?"
"You could say that," Davis snorted, "But no, it's a band that we're all... fans of."
"Like... a boyband?" You chuckled, watching Matt's smirk grow even more mischievous.
"Metal band." Davis clarified with a nod of his head.
"Yeah but the lead singer? He's pretty enough to be in one, isn't that right, Noah?"
"I... uh..."
You looked over at him, intrigued.
“You a fan too?”
"Yeah... something like that." Noah said, but thankfully this conversation ended as you reached the car- and now Matt and Davis were arguing over the front seat.
“Hey, you sat in the front on the way here!”
“Yeah only cos you walked!”
“So it should be me-“
“I’m older.”
“It’s Noah’s fucking car!”
"Guys, calm the fuck down," Noah interrupted, unlocking the car with a click. His hand pressed lightly to your lower back as he guided you toward the passenger side. "She’s got the front."
Ignoring the guys groans, you slid into the passenger seat, still hyper aware of the warmth of Noah’s hand as it drifted off your back, his touch lingering on your skin long after it was gone. The door clicked shut beside you, and you stared at the dashboard for a second, completely frozen.
You were in Noah’s car.
Noah’s car.
The inside smelled a little like him, you definitely needed to find out what cologne he uses. His hoodie was on the drivers seat, you assumed he took it off just as he got out earlier. He threw his and your gym back into the back with the guys, where you could hear Matt and Davis still bickering as they piled in behind you, but it all felt muffled compared to the way your pulse thundered in your ears.
You were in Noah’s car.
The guy you only knew as the hot gym guy just months ago!
Breathe. Just breathe.
You shifted awkwardly, gripping your seatbelt with shaky hands, fingers fumbling as you tried to clip it in. Noah slid into the driver’s side, glancing your way, one brow raising faintly as he caught your expression.
“You okay?” He asked, his voice laced with amusement like maybe he already knew exactly why you looked ready to combust.
You forced a little nod, swallowing hard as you clicked the seatbelt into place.
“Yeah,” you mumbled, cheeks burning. “Just… y’know… your car.”
A small smirk tugged at the corners of his mouth as he started the engine.
“Yeah, you like it?” He teased.
...
After dropping the guys off, the car was noticeably quieter... You sat in the passenger seat, picking at your nails as Noah pulled away from the curb.
He didn’t say anything for a moment, just one hand on the wheel, the other relaxed on the gear stick. The radio played quietly, which you were thankful for, glad you weren't sat together in complete silence.
“Where d’you wanna go?” He asked, glancing over at you. You were a little surprised at how gentle his voice was.
You opened your mouth, but your brain faltered. You couldn’t think. The nerves from earlier were still sat in your chest, and being in his car next to him wasn't exactly helping. You weren’t even sure what you felt like eating.
“I…” you hesitated, shaking your head with a small shrug of your shoulders. “I dunno.”
Noah’s eyes were back on the road, but his lips curved into a small smile.
“That’s alright,” he replied, steering easily through the traffic. “I’ve got somewhere in mind... It’s nothing fancy. Just somewhere I like to go when I’m home.”
When I'm home.
You frowned slightly, because that's not the first time he had said that. Where else would he go? You already guessed he travelled a lot for work, so just assumed he meant that, and you nodded.
“Okay.”
The ride wasn’t long. Maybe five, ten minutes tops. But it felt longer with how aware you were of him, and how close he was- as if you weren't sat on top of him last week.
Eventually, he pulled into a small parking lot beside a little building with soft lighting spilling from the windows. It wasn’t what you expected, though you didn't even know what you were expecting.
The place was small, but it was inviting. It looked cozy from the outside, and that was confirmed as you followed him in. The lighting was warm, the sound of chatter and laughter filled the air, along with the smell of food, which made your stomach grumble once again.
The waiter by the door didn’t even ask for a name. Just a nod at Noah, like they knew him well, and you were led to a booth tucked near the back by a window.
You both sat down, giving the waiter your drinks order before he left.
And now here you were, sat across from Noah at a small, worn in table, menu in hand, eyes darting nervously between the list of food and him.
Noah sat casually, forearms resting on the table as he thumbed through the menu.
You, on the other hand, were barely skimming the options.
It wasn’t even the food. It was him... His presence, the soft look in his eyes, how nervous you suddenly felt around him.
You had felt this way before, but every time you had ever caught feelings for someone, it was never reciprocated- and if it was, it was only an act so they could get in your pants. But here you were, sat across from a guy who genuinely seemed to care about you, and the thought of him possibly feeling the same way as you made your heart do something you couldn't explain.
You hadn't even noticed you'd been staring blankly at the menu, not reading it. You'd been in a world of your own, and you quickly managed to snap yourself out of it and looked at the options.
Cheeseburgers. Fries. Onion rings. Mac and cheese. Double bacon cheeseburgers. It all sounded delicious... if you were sat at home by yourself in front of the tv, but the thought of ordering something like this in front of Noah made you feel a little uneasy.
And, of course, Noah noticed. His gaze lifted, head tilting slightly as he set his menu down.
“What’s wrong?”
His voice startled you slighlty, fingers tightening around the laminated page.
“Nothing!”
He didn’t buy it. His stare didn’t waver, but his expression softened, as did his voice.
“Talk to me.”
Your throat tightened, cheeks warming as you exhaled slowly, admitting under your breath,
“I don’t… know what to get.”
The words barely made it past your lips, but he caught them.
“That’s okay,” he leaned forward a little, his hand resting casually near yours on the table, like he was wanted to touch you but held back. “You’ve never been here before.”
You bit your lip, heart racing embarrassingly fast. Noah let the quiet stretch a moment longer, eyes searching yours before adding gently,
“Would you like me to order for you?”
The softness and sincerity in his voice made it hard to say no. So, despite the feeling in your chest, you nodded your head.
"Okay... yeah."
A small grin spread across his face, subtle but enough for you to notice, and your heart to skip a beat.
The menu stayed in your lap, mostly forgotten about, your fingers fidgeting with the corner as Noah caught the attention of the waiter.
You half expected him to just order his own food twice, but instead he almost listed off the whole menu. Two different burgers. Chicken nuggets. Fries. Onion rings. Even a side of wings, and also requested some different sauces.
You blinked, glancing up at him as the waiter scribbled everything down and walked off.
“That’s… a lot." You almost whispered, your voice quieter than you meant it to be.
Noah leaned back in the booth, casually draping his arm along the backrest, eyes fixed on yours- god he's so fucking hot.
“Yeah.” He nodded, like it was obvious. “No pressure that way, you can have whatever you want.”
You felt like your heart was going to burst with the amount of pure love you felt for this man.
You almost felt yourself begin to tear up- sure, it was just a simple gesture, all he did was order a bunch of things from the menu, but he did it for you. To make sure you had a choice, that there was at least one thing you liked.
“Noah, you didn’t have to-”
“I wanted to.” His eyes softened as he spoke, “Figured it’s easier than stressing over what to order… and before you say you weren’t, I could tell. You always get quiet when you’re overthinking, something I noticed during that first class.”
Your stomach did a silly little flip at that, and you felt heat rush to your cheeks. You looked away, tucking your hands into your lap.
He’d noticed. And instead of blatantly pointing it out, making it worse, he made it easier.
The food didn’t take long to come, and in the time it took you had been telling Noah all about your week, and your asshole of a boss. But then, the table was filled with plates, a basket of fries, burgers stacked high, golden onion rings- it all smelled incredible, and your stomach agreed, growling loudly enough that Noah huffed a soft laugh under his breath.
“See,” he teased, already reaching for one of the burgers, sliding the basket of fries toward you, “It smells good, right?”
You reached for a fry, hesitating a little, but Noah didn’t rush you. He didn’t say anything, just started eating his own food. You nibbled at the fry, glancing up at him across the table.
He caught your gaze and smirked faintly, nodding toward the rest of the food.
“Try this,” he said, not long after, holding half of his burger out toward you, it did look delicious. “It’s good!”
You hesitated again, but he was so patient with you. Your heart fluttred as you leaned forwards, taking a bite. Noah watched you carefully, smirking as you hummed softly in approval.
“Good, right?” He said as he pulled the burger back. “Told you.”
You nodded, still chewing, smiling despite yourself. The nerves didn’t completely vanish, but they eased enough for you to actually eat and enjoy the food, your appetite growing again.
You weren’t even sure how it happened, but between the two of you, every plate on the table was empty after about 20 minutes- besides the spicy wings, which you pulled a face at when you tried, and Noah teased you for it. You were comfortably full now, slouched just slightly in your seat, fingers lazily chasing the last few fries in the basket.
Noah watched you, elbows resting on the table, silently taking in how comfortable you looked now compared to earlier. You peeked up, catching the way his lips had curved into a small, warm smile.
“What?” You asked, wiping your hands with a napkin.
“Nothing.” He said with a gentle tilt of his head, his eyes warming as they met yours, along with his heart.
Your brows furrowed, but his smile only grew as he leaned in a little more.
“Just proud of you,” he expressed, voice a little quieter now. “I know you weren’t feeling yourself earlier.”
Your mouth hung open a little, and you didn't trust yourself to speak as you noticed how his words made your tummy feel fuzzy. You wanted him to tell you that again and again and again. You looked up again to meet his eyes, and something in the way he looked at you in this moment settled you more than anything else had all day.
You swallowed gently, tucking your hands beneath the table.
“Thank you.” You whispered, quiet but honest, looking away to try and hide the way your cheeks had turned pink.
A gentle, comfortable silence settled between the two for a quick moment, until Noah leaned back, tossed his napkin onto the plate and glanced toward the door.
“I should probably get you home,” he said. “Before your friends freak out.” Oh yeah. Kylie and James were waiting for you at your place.
“…Shit.” You blinked, laughing under your breath as realisation settled over you. “I didn’t tell them I was going anywhere.”
“What, you just disappeared on them?” Noah chuckled.
“I didn’t think you’d actually take me to get food," you confessed, a little embarrassed, "I thought you were just saying it… just to be nice.”
He huffed a quiet laugh, pushing his chair back as he stood. His large hand came down, palm open in silent offer. You slipped your hand into his, letting him help you up, trying not to think about how perfectly your hand fit in his.
“For the record,” he murmured as you gathered your things, “I never say things I don’t mean. If I say I’ll take care of you…” His eyes met yours with a look that matched the teasing yet serious tone in the way he spoke, “I’ll do it properly.”
You followed him out, Noah’s hand brushed lightly against your lower back as he guided you toward the car, his gentle touch lingering for a moment longer than it probably needed to, like he wasn’t quite ready to let this evening end yet.
“Watch your head.” He said as he opened the passenger door for you.
The simple gesture made your heart warm, like everything else he does, but you slipped in carefully and let him shut the door for you, before he circled around to the drivers side.
The ride started quiet, the two of you still full but comfortable, you could already feel yourself wanting to yawn- it had been a long and rather emotional day.
You glanced his way once, studying his side profile, the line of his jaw, the tattoo on his throat that crept up the side of his neck- his perfect fucking nose that you wished you could reach out and just boop.
You hated how much you wanted him close again. Even if it was just for a moment, and you had spent all week regretting it, but you couldn't stop thinking about how his hands felt on your hips, how warm his bare chest was beneath your fingertips, how hard he was beneath you, and how it felt as he rocked you against him-
Stop. You shook the the thoughts from your head... but just as the horny ones left, the dreaded ones found their way back.
What if you didn't let your friends drag you across the street to the class? What if you only dropped by the class to hand his wraps back to him and leave again without saying a word. Would he have reached out? Or would he have let this- whatever was going on between you- die?
You exhaled quietly, turning your head to look out the window.
“Hey…” His voice gently pulled you from your thoughts, he glanced your way for a second before returning to the road. “You've gone quiet.”
"Sorry... I was thinking."
“Don't do that, you'll give yourself a headache,” he smirked, gently teasing. “No, seriously,” he prompted, voice a little softer now, “What’s on your mind?”
You hesitated for a moment, debating whether to come up with a lie or an excuse, but knowing Noah, he'd see through you.
"I almost didn't go to the class today. My friends had to physically drag me across the street because I was too scared to face you again... but if I didn't come, what would've happened?"
You noticed the way Noah’s fingers flexed on the wheel as he pulled the car to a slow stop outside your building, not even realising you were here already. He parked up, turning the engine off, before answering.
“What would've happened?” He repeated your question under his breath, eyes fixed ahead for a second like he was thinking it over. “I would’ve gone insane,” he admitted simply, turning his face to meet your eyes. “I spent the whole week thinking I screwed everything up. I was ready to text, I wanted to… but I couldn’t tell if you wanted space, or if you hated me, or…” He exhaled, shaking his head with a quiet laugh, almost at himself. “Guess we both overthink shit.”
"Yeah... well, we don't have to anymore." You said hopefully, meeting his eyes with a soft smile. The kind that made his heart race.
He chuckled under his breath, his gaze dropping briefly to your lips before looking away again. You unbuckled your seatbelt slowly, the click loud in the quiet car.
“I’d say come in… but my friends are waiting for me, and I'm already gonna get interrogated tonight, and I'm sure you'd rather not suffer through a million questions too.”
You noticed the way he smiled at the offer, but he also hesitated briefly.
“I’d love to, and I would have done...” he sighed, his voice dropping softer, sounding almost regretful. “But I’ve got a flight to catch in a few hours.”
"What?! A flight?" Your eyes widened.
"Yeah... work stuff." He nodded, running a hand through his hair, ruffling it a little. “It's just for a couple days."
You tilted your head, studying him.
“You’ve got a flight to catch... and you’re out here with me instead?”
That made him chuckle, and he nodded softly.
“Yeah,” he said simply, like it was obvious. “You were more important.”
For a moment, you forgot how to breathe. You were frozen completely still... did he really just say that or was this a dream? Did you pass out in the gym when Matt knocked you down?
Noah just chuckled to himself and opened his door, stepping out. The sound brought you back to earth and you followed him out the car, waiting for him to grab your gym bag from the backseat.
"Want me to walk you up?" He asked, and you answered with a nod.
Slinging your bag over his shoulder, he reached out for your hand, and he held it all the way up to the door of your apartment, his thumb brushing the back of your palm every now and then, as if to remind you this was real.
Once you reached your door, the two of you stilled. The world around you seemed to just melt away as you looked up into his brown eyes, a colour you’ve grown to love.
You really took him in from this angle... the small scars on his face which you guessed had been left behind from piercings, the dark colour of his lashes, the shape of his lips, the little freckle just under his eye... you wanted to reach out, cup his face in your hands, stand on your tip toes and kiss every inch of him.
His eyes dipped to your lips again, lingering for just a second longer than they should’ve. But he didn’t lean in, even when you thought he was going to. Instead, his grip on your hand tightened ever so slighlty, his fingers gently curling higher up your wrist, and then he lifted your hand between you.
You barely managed to swallow the lump in your throat as he pressed his lips to the back of your hand.
His lips were warm and soft against your skin, sending a shiver down your spine as his eyes met yours, looking at you through his lashes as he gave you the most gentle, delicate kiss.
It was an innocent gesture, but the way he lingered, the way his eyes locked with yours, made it feel incredibly intimate.
You were surprised your knees didn't give out beneath you. The feeling of his lips alone sent heat to your lower belly but the way he looked up at you through it almost made you whimper
“See you next week?"
You nodded, mouth dry, brain working overtime just to form a sentence... but somehow, something slipped out before you could overthink it.
“Text me… when you land?” you whispered, almost shyly. “Just… so I know you got there safe. Wherever you're going.”
“I will,” he promised quietly, his voice soft and sincere. Then, just as he pulled away, gently letting go of your hand, he whispered, “I'll miss you."

Hi honey, first I want to congratulate you on your 1.8k! ♡ Next, I want to ask you for number 11 with Seungcheol and angsty. But could I add anything else? Something like Cheol doesn't want to sleep alone in the bed because he's gotten used to sleeping with you, and also, the bed smells like you. Thank you so much ♡
hi, dear! thank you soo much 💜 of course you can add it, i'm always happy when you guys make your request specific, at least that way i have more hope that you'll like it in the end :') thank you for requesting!
prompt: 'i'm not letting you sleep on the couch in your own house'
'i swear to god, seungcheol, one more word and i am getting out of here.'
seungcheol stills. it stings; the fact that you're so mad at him that you better leave your own house than stay here with him stings, but he knows he deserves it. the truth is, seungcheol is just as lost at the whole 'we will figure out this life together' shit as you are and sometimes he trips and makes mistakes and falls.
'go,' you say in a tired voice. all your anger faded away and you look so fragile that his heart squeezes. 'i can't be in the same room with you.'
these words are horrible. the way they hurt him make seungcheol wonder how bad he fucked up, how irreversible the damage is; has he lost you? for good? 'don't do it,' he croaks out. 'let's talk this out-'
'i don't want to talk anymore,' you interrupt, shaking your head. 'i am not breaking up with you, but i am telling you that i am done for tonight, alright? and if you won't leave then i will do it myself.'
without saying anything else you grab your pillow, blanket and storm past him to the living room. seungcheol turns and watches as you throw everything on the couch, seemingly ready to sleep there. he turns back and stares at the bed in the middle of the room like on a foreign subject - what he is supposed to do with it? he can't sleep alone anymore, not after he got together with you. so many months of falling asleep and waking up with you in his arms spoiled him, he can't possibly get on the bed without you. why would he? any bed in the world is made for you two, not for him only. and it hurts - the notion of you not wanting to share the bed with him, not wanting to stay in the same room with him - it hurts. seungcheol's throat tightens as he tries not to lose his mind. with slow steps he goes to the living room, where you're tossing and turning in futile attempts to get comfortable.
'i'm not letting you sleep on the couch in your own house', he says, stopping two steps away from you. 'please go to bed. i will leave, but please go to bed.'
you turn, eyeing him with a frown. seungcheol sighs, squatting until his face is right in front of yours. he grips the edge of the blanket, looking at you with regret: 'i'm sorry for being such a mess.'
seungcheol can add many more things. he can add how he never ever wanted to hurt you, how life without you is a life with no light or love, how he will kneel and beg for your forgiveness if he knew it'd help. you stare at him in silence before muttering: 'why are you acting like we're breaking up?'
'because it feels like it,' seungcheol lets out shakily.
you sigh, sitting up. you are not even close to forgiving him, but you can't let him think that this is it. 'i told you that we're not breaking up, cheol. i just-'
'i can't sleep without you,' he says, looking up. 'i can't- it's wrong. it's so wrong.'
when your hand wraps around his, seungcheol's breath halters. his eyes glimmer with hope as he looks at you. 'you, big baby. let's go to bed then.' you stand up, grabbing your pillow. 'i'm still mad though.'
seungcheol grabs your blanket and follows you to the bedroom, holding his breath. 'we will talk tomorrow?' he asks hopefully, hovering by the edge of the bed, not getting in.
you nod and smile weakly. 'yeah, cheollie. we will talk tomorrow.' you pat the space next to you. 'get in now.'
when seungcheol cautiously wraps his arms around you and your body goes lax, leaning on his, he finally breathes again.
a/n: i hope you liked it!! very random, but cheol is one of the easiest members to write these kinds of scenes for, idk why :D - nini

Candy
Michael Kaiser x Reader
Tumblr media
You turn your head to the boy that had been staring at you– the candies in your hand. As you place your hand out, you can see his body tense up, unsure whether to take it or not.
You let him choose from the flavors you had, as he only took one you stated– “Take two more, I have enough.” his eyes light up slightly.
He doesn't say thank you, nor does he do anything that shows his appreciation but you know. After a few minutes, you both sit on the pavement as he finishes his candies one by one, savouring it so it wouldn't disappear quick.
“Why do you have so many bruises and wounds?” you ask quietly, unsure of how he would react.
“My father hit me.” he says as if it's the most normal thing in the world, you look down as you think, for him– mabey it is the most normal thing in the world.
“Do they hurt right now?” you stare intently at them, feeling worse each passing second.
“He does it everyday, I'm fine, these are from the afternoon.” he looks at you, wondering why you would like to know so much. He doesn't feel like answering, but you did give him candy.
“They can cause you infections..”
“What are those?”
-
That was years ago, the day he made his first friend. He wasn't here anymore though, he had left. You were glad he did, he was getting progressively worse day by day and you couldn't stand it, stand him get hurt anymore.
You don't know where he went, he left without a trace, even his house was locked up. After a while, you left too.
But the memories you had together remained, they lingered on the park swings, they lingered near the bakery you both used to steal out off. Even the old grandmas that walked in the mornings missed seeing you two.
-
Your present roomate, who was a huge football fan had a game on one day. As you stepped into the living room to ask her whether she wanted to give anything for wash, you saw him.
For the first time in years, even though it felt like you had just seen him yesterday.
Your eyes widened, your heart felt like it was going a thousand miles per second as you asked her, “Who's he?” pointing at the tv– just to make sure.
Your roomate knew something was off, she just couldn't land a finger on it. “Kaiser Micheal, he's a dick though.” she laughed it off.
You sat down beside her and watched the entire game, for the first time with full interest. She found it odd but she wasn't complaining.
He had the same eyes, same blonde hair– just his ends painted blue. He looked somewhat happy, though you questioned whether it was real, you really couldn't tell with that man.
That very night, you spent hours on Wikipedia. You wondered how he was doing, if he even remembered you, if he kept touch with his father– which was an immediate no.
Mabey he also couldn't sleep at the thought of meeting you some day, one could only dream.

part one |
* * * * * * *
When your eyes open, the first thing you see is the way the sunlight bounces off the ceiling. Unlike what most vampire myths said, you weren't afraid of the sun. At least not any more than a mortal with secrets made far too vulnerable by the light.
The second thing you notice once your eyes focus and your mind starts clearing is the comfortable weight settled on top of you. Reality's quick to crash into you after that.
For some reason, you had expected Lilia to be up and about by the time morning came. Even though she had made fun of you for wanting to run away, she was the same way. Actually, she tended to be worse. But of course, she would never admit it, preferring instead to throw the blame on you.
Seeing her like this, though, soft and vulnerable, reminds you why you hated leaving her in the first place. While you knew it had to be done, it didn't change how awful you felt about it. How lonely the years that have passed have been.
"How are you already so tense?" Her words break the silence and draw a sigh out of you. It really isn't fair how easy she can read you, even now.
"I'm just not used to waking up under a beautiful woman," you reply, the corners of your mouth tugging up into a lazy smile.
"I find that very hard to believe, sweetheart."
You suppress the urge to laugh and instead give in to the easy atmosphere. "Ouch, are you calling me a whore, Madame Calderu?"
The eyeroll you earn yourself is more worth it. "I'm calling you charming, my dear."
"Oh, my mistake."
She laughs, the sound rich and soft and capable of turning all your thoughts to mush in a second. "I've missed this."
You know what she means, but you don't allow yourself to linger on her words too much. A part of you feels undeserving. It wasn't like you didn't have good reason for leaving and yet…the guilt threatens to swallow you whole.
"Insulting me?" You ask as your fingers draw random patterns on her back. The fabric of her robe is thin enough for you to feel the warmth of her skin beneath it.
With a soft sigh, she lifts herself enough so she can stare down at you. The wrinkles in the corners of her eyes are as soft as her smile. "Laughing with you."
It's impossible to ignore the truth in her tone. "Yeah, I guess that's nice too."
"You guess?" She responds, attempting to sound offended. It doesn't work very well, though, since she's still grinning too hard. "You're a hard woman to please, my darling."
It's impossible to stop yourself from laughing at that. "You of all people should know that's not true."
Instead of instantly replying, she allows her eyes to drift down your face, lingering on your lips. You're not sure if she knows exactly what she's doing, but you do know you can't stop yourself from craving more.
And you can't even be mad at yourself for it.
You never even tried to lie about your feelings for her. Even after the visions, the prophecy, the knowledge that she'll be your undoing, you still love her. You've always loved her. How can you fight against that part of your fate?
One of your hands comes up, fingers slowly grazing against the side of her neck. The only thing left of your bite is the memory and yet she still shivers. Still leans into your touch.
"y/n," she whispers, her eyes fluttering closed for a few seconds. "You have no idea what you're doing to me."
"I find that very hard to believe," you reply, your voice just as soft as hers.
She lets out a soft huff of air, something halfway to a chuckle, before you steal whatever teasing words were on the tip of her tongue away with a kiss.
Despite how strong your longing for her has been, you still surprise yourself. You almost assumed you'd walk out of her life again without doing exactly what you'd been thinking about since you left.
Clearly, you're a fool in more than one way.
Your fingers move back to tangle in her hair and even though you try to keep yourself in check, you can't. You want more. Need her in ways that scare you and excite you at the same time.
Lilia pulls away from the kiss, her heaving breaths fanning across your lips. "I missed this too."
"I missed you," you admit, your face warming up exponentially.
It's dangerous to say it out loud, but there's no use in hiding. Not when her eyes can see everything you don't say. Everything you feel without meaning to.
"Yeah?" Her head tilts to the side, wide pupils scanning your face. "Show me."
You grin, sharp teeth poking out from under your top lip. "Gladly."
Your hands travel down her body in an instant and your fingers grasp the fabric of her robe. A laugh escapes her as you hurry to slip the garment off of her, shifting around until your lips can meet the exposed skin of her shoulders.
"Impatient as always, little one?" She questions, using her words to distract you from the way she's moving above you. It's subtle, but you can't ignore the feeling of her heat pressing against your thigh.
"Only when it comes to you."
You let your fangs graze her skin, dragging along her shoulder blade until she's shivering above you. The urge to bite her is far stronger than it should have been considering how much you'd drank the night before. Then again, your thirst for her has always been stronger than anything else. Including your common sense.
"Such a flatter," she mutters.
Her hands move to her robe, helping you get the rest of it off, while your attention is captivated by her warm skin. You sink your teeth into her shoulder, not hard enough to actually draw blood, but enough to feel the connection that thrums beneath your veins.
"And so eager too," Lilia hums.
There's no way you can deny her claim. Especially with the way your hands start exploring the newly revealed contours of her body. Your fingers trace the lines of her muscles, mapping out the freckles you can't see but know are there.
As much as it pains you, you remove your fangs from her without drawing any blood, focusing on her hunger instead of your own. "I'm not the only one, I think you're soaking my pants."
"Oh, very funny." Her voice lacks humor but her eyes dance with a mischief she was sure she'd lost years ago. "Maybe if you weren't so preoccupied with biting me, I wouldn't have to be doing all the work by myself."
"All the work- oh-"
Your question is answered by the way she shifts her hips, slowly grinding against your leg. One hand lands on her hip to steady her as she sits up slightly to get better friction. You move with her, rising into a slightly uncomfortable position just to latch your mouth onto her chest.
"There you go," she coos. "You remember what mama likes?"
You don't think you could forget if you tried.
Your lips wrap around one of her nipples, feeling it harden under your tongue. Her back arches into your touch and you can't stop yourself from letting your teeth graze her sensitive skin.
The noise she makes in response is more than enough of a reward, but then her hand tangles in your hair and pulls you closer. "Fuck, darling. You're so good for me."
Her whimpered praise sends sparks of electricity up your spine. Not even your own pleasure can distract you from your mission, though.
One hand stays on her hip, slowly guiding her movements when her hips stutter, and the other one comes up to toy with her other breast, lavishing both of her nipples with the attention you know she needs. If your mouth wasn't so busy, you would have teased her for how frantic her movements against you are.
And she was making fun of you for being eager.
"y/n," she whispers, her voice shaking almost as much as her thighs.
All you do is hum, biting down on her nipple just enough to hear her gasp. Her movements speed up and you double your efforts, flexing your thigh and pushing up into her as much as you can.
It makes you a little dizzy due to the proximity but you force your eyes to travel upward until you can take in the curve of her neck and her parted lips. The puffs of air she lets out sound more like whines than anything and you let them wash over you like a wave.
You wait until she starts muttering curses beneath her breath to move again. Your hand leaves her breast and glides down the front of her body, easily slipping under the waistband of her ruined underwear.
You detach yourself from her nipple only to trail kisses up the valley of her breasts. "Cum for me, mama, I know you need it."
Your fingers press against her swollen clit and you watch as her whole body shudders in response. It's the most beautiful sight you've seen in years.
You work her through her orgasm, feeling as she soaks your fingers and her underwear all in one go. It's sinful and delightful all at the same time.
When she slumps forward, worn and overly sensitive, you instantly wrap your arms around her waist and lie back against the couch once more. For a moment, it's like no time has passed at all. Like you managed to cheat both time and space just to be with each other.
As silly as it might be, you allow yourself the fantasy.
Your lips press against her temple as the two of you lay there, her head on your shoulder and her nose nuzzling your jaw. As hard as it is, you don't move. You don't dare break the moment.
Because you know once you do, you won't get to have her like this again.
The runes may be strong and the wards may pulse with life every time you make her heart skip a beat, but you're being hunted. And every second you spend with her only puts her in more danger.
You know that.
But then she's shifting again and her lips find yours and it's hard to think about anything else except her.
When she pulls away, you're both breathless, gripping onto each other like you're afraid you'll disappear. The helplessness that simmers beneath the surface is hidden well under desire and desperation, but you can still feel it. Thrumming to life after every kiss.
"You were so good for me, angel," she murmurs, almost like she doesn't want to risk breaking the moment by being too loud. "Let me make you feel good."
"Yes please," you reply as your arms wrap around her neck to keep her close.
To your surprise, she makes no move to make fun of you for how clingy you are and instead her arms move down your arms, caressing your skin like she's commiting every touch to memory. You don't doubt she is.
Once she reaches your shirt, she simply smirks down at you and with a flick of her wrists, your clothes dissapear. "Cute trick."
Lilia just raises an eyebrow at you, hovering over you with a borderline dangerous glint in her eyes. "Trick? Are you insulting my magic, little one?"
"Oh, I would never dare," you tease.
Of course, she doesn't believe you, and you honestly don't blame her.
"You just can't stop yourself from being a brat, can you?" Her question is completely rhetorical, especially considering her next idea.
She hovers above you, watching your face closely as one of her hands trails down your body to the heat eminating from between your legs. Her fingers part your folds, revealing your clit to her before she murmurs something ancient under her breath. You have no idea what she's doing…until you feel a sudden shock on your clit.
"Lilia-" you gasp, your thighs attempting to close.
She clicks her tongue in dissaproval as she lands a warning smack to your inner thigh. "Don't you dare close them, I'm just getting started."
Your cunt clenches around pure air at that and the pleasure sends another shock-like sensation through your cunt. You quickly realize you don't mind, though, as the pain morphs into unbelieable pleasure.
"Oh, fuck."
"You read my mind, baby."
You don't get anther second to react before two of her fingers are teasing your already sensitive clit, pressing down until your thighs shake and then moving down to gather your wetness on the tips.
She's absolutely playing with you and you can't find it in yourself to mind. Not when the way she toys with you feels so damn good.
"Please," you all but whimper. "More."
"Always so needy, it's adorable."
You whimper again and she finally takes pity on you, sliding those same two fingers into your wet cunt. It only takes a few thrusts and another well placed shock for you to near the edge.
"Mama- please-"
"Already?" Despite her teasing tone, she can't hide her excitment. "You wanna cum for me, sweet girl?"
You desperately nod, your hips bucking up into her without meaning to as you chase your incoming orgasm. "Yes, need it, please."
"I've missed hearing you beg like that. Go ahead, baby, don't hold back."
She doesn't have to tell you twice.
Your body instantly reacts to her, clenching uncontrollably around her fingers while her thumb plays with your clit. You cry out as your orgasm crashes into you and you're left whining and shaking underneath her.
She leans down to pepper kisses across your face, her tongue darting out to lap up the few tears that escape the corners of your eyes. "Always so sweet for me."
All you can manage are a few incoherent mumbles and she chuckles as she removes her fingers from between your legs. Another incantation is mumbled and the ache on your clit subsides.
"Better?" She asks, shifting around once more so she's on her side, arms bringing you closer to her.
You nod and mirror her, tucking your head beneath her chin and wrapping yourself around her warmth. "Did you melt my brain so I wouldn't leave?"
"Not on purpose," she replies with a laugh. "Does that mean you'll stay?"
You allow the question to hang in the air for a few seconds. There's nothing you want more than to stay. Not only are you technically still injured, you'll have to drink from her again soon or risk growing weak once more.
You know the risks, the ones that go beyond simply being a vampire in love with a witch. Between the Guild, your family, and the prophecy that looms over both of your heads…staying with her will do nothing besides bring you more pain.
And yet, the answer forms before you can stop it.
"Yes. But only because I'm still hungry."
Lilia knows you're lying, but she doesn't call you out on it. Instead, she simply holds you closer, her fingers tracing the area where you'd been stabbed by the Guild's hunter. "Just give me a few minutes, then we can get up."
You know she's lying too, but all you do is smile and burrow into her chest.

Hi, how are you? I hope you're doing well♡
I saw that your requests are open & something just came to mind that I feel like can go both ways either smut or fluff and I'm curious to see your take on it. It was: txt's reaction when he's doing live and y/n turns it off (either the live or the wifi) so the live will end so they can kiss him
That's it, if you do decide to do this, I hope you have fun! Either way I hope you have a wonderful day!!♡♡♡♡♡

Soobin lets you know he is live as soon as you step into the room, holding two plates with dinner. “Wait, guys,” he smiles softly towards the camera, pushing his chair back and walking over to you. “Dinner is supposed to be eaten at the dinner table,” you remind him, trying your best not to smile as he cups your cheeks and presses a gentle kiss on the tip of your nose. “I know, baby, I’m sorry,” he whispers sweetly. “Give me a few more minutes and I’ll be all yours, okay?” You nod, letting him take his portion and walk back to his seat, lying that it was Taehyun who cooked dinner for him when the fans ask. You sit down on his bed, making sure you are out of frame before you start eating your food, admiring your boyfriend from afar as he laughs with his fans and talks about their latest songs. Just a few minutes.
But it’s never just a few minutes, is it?
You’re done with eating within fifteen minutes and so is he, but he doesn’t rush to end the live, sitting in silence as he reads through the comments, answering some from time to time. And before you know it, a half an hour passes by and you’re still sitting on his bed, bored and alone.
You’ve had enough of that, honestly. Soobin doesn’t notice you as you get up and leave the room, nor when you come back in your pajamas, ready to go to sleep. He continues chatting with his fans without even glancing your way and you don’t like that. Stepping closer to him while still making sure the camera doesn’t catch you, you click the ending button without hesitation, watching as his eyes widen and he turns to you.
He isn’t mad, though. The only thing you can see in his eyes is amusement. “Oh, no, did you miss me, baby?” He coos, wrapping his hands around your waist and pulling you closer. You hum, little annoyed as you sit in his lap and let him snuggle his face in your neck, leaving soft kisses. “I’m sorry. I didn’t realize it’s been so long.” Your breath shakes as he bites your collarbone, pulling back. He simply chuckles, catching your lips in his before you can say anything else, keeping you as close as possible.
Yeonjun smiles into his phone, just as he always does when he is on his way from work. You sit beside him, watching him from the side as he talks about a performance they had earlier. It was an amazing one and you watched it in awe, cheering him on quietly. “It was great, I love performing Love Language,” he says and you feel proud. He’s worked so hard for this and it’s nice to see him be happy with himself.
He giggles at the few cheerful comments, briefly glancing at you to see if you’re okay. It’s a small move, one he is sure no one will be able to catch. Still, he masks it right away, saying how nice the weather outside is at the moment. You roll your eyes at him playfully, opening your own phone for games while he talks about his day.
It’s when a fan asks him about his abs and he says he’s been working out for it lately that you raise your head again, intrigued. He has been working out, yes, you can confirm that. Your cheeks catch pink as you think about it—the way his abs flexed last night, his hands roamed your body and his lips felt against yours. He seems to notice your slight change in behaviour, a playful smirk tugging at his lips as he teases revealing his abs on live right now. “You want to see?” he lowers the camera and as soon as he grabs the bottom of his tank top, you immediately turn his live off without thinking.
“What are you doing?” He teases. You don’t answer him, grabbing his shirt and pulling him closer. He smirks into the kiss, one hand resting on your waist while the other cups your cheek, tilting your face as he deepens it. “Jealousy suits you, baby.”
Beomgyu didn’t go live a lot, so when he did tell you he wanted to go, you never had a problem. His beomidio is fun, and seeing him have so much fun with it always warms your heart. So why would you make him stop doing it?
It’s simple, really. Because even though you love listening to him and you could do so for hours, the need to spend time with your boyfriend is strong, stronger than your fondness for his voice.
You watch him with a pout, your leg bouncing up and down as you wait for his live to be over so you could go eat dinner together. You’re not even hungry really, you just miss him. You miss his hugs, the comfort of his arms, the addicting sound in a form of his laugh, his kisses—oh god, his kisses.
You take a deep breath, looking at the time to see how long he’s been live for. Twenty minutes. You hesitate, debating how dumb the idea is and if you’d get in trouble for it. Maybe it’s unreasonable and you should just wait for him to finish up like any good partner would, but your heart tells you to go for it, knowing he won’t be mad.
Giving it one last thought, you stand up from the couch and gently knock on the studio door, opening it without waiting for an answer. As soon as Beomgyu notices you, he smiles, a warm, calming smile meant for just you. You nod towards his phone on the table and his eyebrows furrow, questioning what you mean. You don’t explain yourself or wait for him to understand, though, simply stepping closer and turning his live off without a prior notice. His eyes widen but he doesn’t get a chance to question you as you settle in his lap, pressing your lips onto his. He wraps his arms around your waist and presses you closer, kissing you back and completely forgetting he was just in the middle of his live.
Taehyun notices you in the corner of the room as soon as you step inside. He gives you a brief smile before focusing back on the chat, sharing his gym routine after seeing the question. You hover by the door, listening to his every word. You should go and focus on your responsibilities but it’s hard to leave him. The whole day was busy—for both you and him—and it felt like ages since you had the opportunity to just sit down with him and talk or cuddle, even though that’s exactly how last night looked like.
He’s cute. The passion and love in his eyes as he shares his day with his fans makes you love him even more and it’s hard to just stay still and listen. You step closer, sitting down on the edge of the table where you know you can be close to him but out of the frame. He glances at you, eyes quickly scanning your figure before focusing back on the camera to make sure he doesn’t look suspicious. His hand finds your ankle under the table, holding you as his thumb draws small circles on your skin. Your cheeks redden, biting your bottom lip as you watch him.
He’s fucking beautiful, the possesive grip of his hand on your ankle making your head spin. He chats with his fans about what he is up to lately for a bit more before his eyes meet yours again and you mouth for him to turn it off. He scoffs quietly, brushing a hand through his hair as if to regain focus. “Alright,” he finally says, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips. He listens, saying a quick bye before ending it with ease, finally giving all his attention to you. You smile as his hands trail up your thighs before they settle on your waist, manhandling you to the middle of the table and positioning himself between your legs. You lean forward, closing the gap between you as your lips connect with his, running a hand through his hair.
As soon as you turn Kai’s live stream off, his eyes widen and shoot to you, surprise written all over his face. His cheeks are pink as he watches you, blinking confusedly. The pout on your face makes him even more flustered, the feeling of uncertainty when he doesn’t know if he did something wrong eating him alive. “Are you…Is everything okay?” He stutters, eyes widening when you sit on his lap and run a hand through his hair. “I miss you.”
I miss you. He expected anything but that. He thought he was in trouble, that he did something to upset you or you needed to talk to him about something—but the fact you would just simply miss him hasn’t crossed his mind for a second.
He lets out an awkward, disbelieving laugh, resting his forehead on your shoulder. You huf, your pout only growing wider as you see him making fun of you.
But it’s far from that. In fact, he thinks you’re adorable. He raises his head, his eyes meeting yours, and cups your cheek immediately, pulling you in for a tender kiss. His cheeks are still flushed but so are yours now, your heart beating faster as if it was the first time you’ve kissed. One of his hands finds your lower back, keeping you close.
“I miss you too,” he whispers against your lips, sending a shiver down your spine. You smile shyly, the confidence you had before while turning his live off suddenly disappearing. “You’re so cute,” he exhales a giggle, kissing you again. He kisses you as if it could be his last, the butterflies in your stomach he evokes making you feel like a silly teenager in love.
Because with him that’s exactly what it feels like. A pure love between two people who don’t know how to hurt each other.

Draft Day
Tumblr media
Summary: You were there for your boyfriend to get drafted, and now it was your turn.
Michael Kesslering x pwhl!reader
Warning! Reader is described to be wearing a suit but other than that, it's gender neutral.
A/N: did I just make this after I saw Ella Huber was drafted and (Matthew)Knies was there for her? Yes, yes I did. (Ironically the pwhl draft is how I found out they were dating cause I recognized her(so pretty how did Knies bag her) she's going to Boston!)
And do not worry, reader is not going to Minnesota(sorry to all the frost fans but they have that one girl on there. I cannot stand her, I do love Maddie Rooney though)
And lowkey I was gonna make some utah players to show up(like Kells and Marino) but in the end it just didn't make sense to me but rest assured. They will be there at the after party or whatever. And I didn't really flat out mention it but you and Michael are high school sweethearts? Idk I just thought it made sense since I mentioned that reader was there for his draft. And I just have no idea if he went to college... but rest assured reader did! I chose Penn State cause it was dream college of mine(before I decided to stay in state)
Tumblr media
You were nervous, really nervous. You were sure you were going to combust and explode.
Today was the day of the PWHL Draft, today you were going to get drafted to one of eight teams.
You were sitting in your seat, tapping your knee in a rhythmic pattern with your hand(you only did that when you're nervous).
You arrived with your family and your boyfriend Michael, they were extremely happy for you.
Michael noticed your state and took your hand in his, squeezing it lightly. He looked at you like he always did, with a twinkle in his eyes.
He leaned in and whispered to you. "You're gonna do great."
"You don't know that." You mutter. "I might trip over my shoes when I go up there."
Michael grinned as he held back his laugh. "Well you'd still look amazing as ever, even if you have dirt in your mouth after you trip."
You scoffed at that. "You're an idiot." You tried to hide your smile.
"An idiot that just made you smile." Michael poked your side with a chuckle.
You fidgeting with your suit jacket and let out a shaky exhale. "I'm nervous."
Michael nodded. "Of course you are, you're getting drafted today. It would be totally freaky if you weren't."
You looked over at him. "Why do you have to be so... you?"
"I don't know, I don't really know how to be anybody else." Michael gave you a lopsided grin.
Your expression soften at his words. "Good. Don't change." You nodded.
Your dad noticed the interaction and looked on with a soft look.
"How you feeling kiddo?"
You looked back at your dad. "Like I'm about to throw up."
Your mom laughed. "You're gonna be fine sweetie."
Michael nodded. "You're gonna be fine, dirt in your mouth and all."
You chuckled. "Stop that."
"Speak of the devil, more trouble has just arrived." Your dad gave Michael a knowing look.
"What was that?" You looked between your dad and Michael.
He grinned. "Nothing... just couldn't let you get drafted without our cats."
You looked at Michael as you realized. "Right of course. Our cats."
"Hey, Y/N!" Logan called out, Josh has already ran to you and smothered you into a hug.
"Hey," You mumbled. "Hi to you too Josh."
Josh smiled brightly at you. "You're gonna do great."
"That's what we keep telling them, they just won't listen." Your mom piped up.
"Well it's true. You won't mess anything up because we know you. You hate making mistakes, and I mean absolutely hates it, babe." Michael gave you a look before checking his watch. "We should get seated now, it's about to start."
All of you got seated to your seats. You in the middle of your parents, behind you Logan, Josh, with Micheal on the end.
The draft started several minutes later, your nervousness settled down slightly as you felt Michael's hand on the back of your chair.
It was the end of the first round and Seattle was about to announce their pick.
"With the 8th pick in the 1st round. Seattle selects from Penn State University, defender Y/N L/N."
You swore you felt your heart stop, you could barely register anything before your parents pulled you into a hug(and of course, the boys cheering).
You hugged Logan and Josh, each of them muttering a congratulations and plans to visit when they can during the season.
Michael hugged you tight and kissed your temple. "I love you so much. So proud of you."
He mumbled as he pulled away but not before kissing your temple again, his eyes glistening in the light.
You walked down to the stage, took your draft photo and shook hands with all the staff on Seattle.
You walked down the stairs for your interview.
"Y/N, first of all I just want to congratulations on getting drafted to Seattle." Rob told you. "How does it feel?"
You nodded and chuckled. "It feels amazing, thank you. I'm so excited to get to work down there, it just feels so surreal."
"Yeah it can feel like that sometimes but I'm sure you'll do great." Rob chuckled. "I uh couldn't help but notice, you have the quite the support tonight. How does it feel knowing they came here for you, to watch you follow through with your hockey dream?"
"Oh um yeah, you know it's nice to have their support. My parents, they did almost everything for me so they're probably happy they don't have to buy me another stick." You laughed.
"And my friends, boyfriend. Yeah, it's really nice that they're here too. Means a lot to me. During the off season, I would always make Kess, my boyfriend play against me. Since we're both defenders, we normally just share techniques and such."
"That's really sweet." Rob nodded. "Any players you're excited to see at development camp? What are you really looking for in Seattle?"
"I'm really excited to see Hilary Knight, she's really inspiring and now to be teammates with her is just so amazing." You gushed. "Cayla Barnes as well, terrific defender, would love to see her in action beside me on the ice."
Rob spoke again. "Really good answers. Thank you and once again, congratulations."
You nodded. "Thank you." You headed back to your seat.
You couldn't resist the smile on your face as you made you way back.
Michael was the first one to wrap his arms around you, he picked you up and spun you around. "My baby's going to Seattle!"
You chuckled in his arms. "I'm so excited."
Logan smiled. "You're gonna do amazing there, just don't do amazing or you'll take his job." Josh not so subtlety pointed at Michael.
Michael rolled his eyes and put you back on the ground. "If they really wanted to, they would have done it by now." He slung his arm around your waist, his hand resting on your hip.
You nodded in agreement. "That's true."
Your mom piped and kissed your cheek. "I'm just so happy for you."
Your dad nodded. "Yeah, you're gonna do amazing in Seattle."
You look over at your parents. "I'm gonna miss you guys."
Your mom nodded. "We know, we'll miss you too. You're still our little kid."
"But rest assured, we will be there for your debut kiddo." Your dad ruffled your hair.
"Just don't get into any fights." Josh said. "Kess is already a bad influence on you as it is."
You nodded, knowing well enough that you couldn't attempt to do what Josh wanted even if you tried.
Michael gave Josh a look. "You clearly haven't seen Y/N in college dude."
Couple of hours later, you find yourself curled into Michael's side in bed of your hotel room. Waiting for sleep to catch up to the both of you.
"So, you're going to Seattle." He whispered. "Still can't believe it, you're gonna be so far." He traces his finger on your hip.
"Not that far." You whispered back. "We'll be a couple of hours away."
"I know," Michael mumbled as he looked down at you. "This just feels worse. Now you're going pro and I'll barely be able to see it like you did for mine." He held you tighter.
"It's gonna be okay, Kess." You told him. "We each have our jobs to do that require distance."
Michael stayed silent for a moment before speaking again. "I just don't want you to leave me." His voice grew quieter.
"I'm not going anywhere, no one and I mean no one can replace you. You're my freakish weirdly tall germlin of a boyfriend."
Michael let out a shaky laugh at your words.
"Thanks... for reassuring me."
"Of course, you know I love you." You kissed his chest.
Michael smiled softly. "I love you too. Now we should be going to bed, you know how grumpy you get in the morning."
"I don't get grumpy." You mutter.
"You do." Michael retorted. "Now goodnight."
"Yeah, goodnight." You grumbled, Michael kissed your head.

Tumblr media
Something must've cracked...
Something happened for your mind to suddenly have these flickers of your old self returning. And it didn't go unnoticed when it happened.
The first time was with 1x1x1x1, who was supposed to simply make sure that you wouldn't do anything stupid to yourself.
But she caught the way you quietly mumbled how cool he looked and her head practically snapped around to look at you in shock, meeting an unfamiliar sparkle in your eyes for mere seconds before it seemed to fizzle out and you were back to 'normal'.
But when he told the others, it caused them to pay a lot more attention to you and see if there was anything they could do to maybe cause these flickers purposefully.
So far it seemed that it was usually things you used to love talking about when you were still a survivor.
Pr3typriincess making you a bow in your favourite colour, C00lkidd asking you to play hide and seek for a change instead of tag, even Bluudud begrudgingly having you watch him play a game you showed interest in even though it felt boring to him and he had a hard time not complaining about it...
But it did bring you back... Somewhat...
You were never there for long but the more they tried, the longer you seemed to stay Lucid. The longer you were back and babbling praises to them for being such good friends to you.
The longer you seemed to remember...
At first it was scary when you remembered for longer than a few seconds, wondering why you were different and why you weren't with the survivors anymore.
But you gradually adjusted and would even begin to tell C00lkidd, Bluudud and Pr3typriincess about how the survivors took care of you. Especially 007n7.
Tumblr media
You've mostly reacted to the other killers like C00lkidd would but weren't against just goofing off and going along with whatever was happening.
During rounds though... The Spectre would get a grip on you again and although it felt like all the progress was reset, you still remembered. You just needed time to adjust again.
Not that anyone really cared. You were just another kid in the cabin, usually off with one of the others to play games or gossip over tea.
But most of your time was taken by Bluudud wanting his ego-booster back.... Or so he claimed.
You could tell he was genuinely starting to enjoy his time with you but was too prideful to admit it. Rather lashing out at anyone that pointed it out or just denying it.
It didn't change the fact he would sometimes wake up from nightmares and look for you first to hold onto for comfort...
Anything you'd like to request/ask? Check out my pinned post first and I'll be happy to write up whatever you want!

ShadAmy Week 2025 - Day 4: Y2K
Tumblr media
Very happy w/ how this one came out- though it was a bit of a pain after a while. Admittedly, I wasn't fully sure what to do w/ this prompt, but I like what I turned out.
I'm sure it's not entirely accurate, but I wanted to go for a retro 90s/2000s inspired computer/computer screen. I also haven't done a chibi style in a hot minute, but I really gotta get back into it. These 2 cuties were so fun to draw this way :3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And of course some versions without the screen "filter" and just the background on it's own, since that took the most time and energy.
