I officially went insane last night and I need to break my silence once more on the subject,

Dear skk fic writers who sustain me and who I love so dearly,

The top of Chuuya's head arrives at about mouth level to Dazai. That means Chuuya's face aligns with Dazai's collarbones. On average, the arm reaches the crotch at ~wrist-level (get up and check or pull up a picture), so here we can see Dazai's crotch reaches the top of Chuuya's hipbone, while Chuuya's reaches the top of Dazai's thigh.

And because I'm thorough I brought other examples, just in case this was somehow a fluke or their height vary:

There are slight variations (also perspective and such) but it's pretty consistant. Their height difference is 21cm, it's slightly less than a head's worth, so it all tracks.

This is a great reference for their (oh so beloved) height difference for everyone, but you know why I'm saying this. You understand why I tracked their hip/crotch height. If this concerns you, you know. You can still make it work. You just need to be slightly more creative. There are easy answers. I believe in you.

I had a dream someone drew a really cute August in winter clothes but I couldn't comment on it right away and when I finally could they'd taken it down waaaa. I was running around like WAIT WHO DREW IT I LOVED IT COME BACK LET ME HAVE A COPY OF IT PLEASE!!

Anyway if I don't respond to August stuff right away it's not because I don't like it or I'm annoyed or anything. I'm just often busy trying to be an adult human and sometimes I don't know what to say right away or I want to do something for it or I genuinely missed it in the shuffle of notifs or I don't have time to but I wANT to react and I wILL even if it takes me like months to get there lol.

I always love ppls' enthusiasm for August - it's such a delight and gift as an OC creator and just cause I love her so dang much. I don't want to take any of the positivity for granted. Thank you everyone who's ever played in the space with me!

god, i know people are sick of hearing me dwell on this, but i think i'm done.

i think... i'm content knowing that my writing touched people when it did. it was my best work considering the time at which it was written, and the best work for the headspace that i was in. i was just rereading an old spidey-kazuha fic that i wrote and i'm just thinking that yeah, i'm never gonna write like that again. not because i'm not good enough (although i am out of practice), but rather because my interests have since shifted, and i should spend my energy trying to figure out the best writing style for myself with these new interests in mind.

like, i've been wanting to circle back to basic character creation. the things i've been wanting to do lately have less to do with readers and more to do with original characters. it's simply because i haven't done that in a long time that i'm feeling so pent up and anxious and scared.

so... essentially, i need to come to terms with the fact that my kazuha era is over. not that i don't love him anymore — i will always be the self-proclaimed #1 Kazuha Lover — but rather, my time writing for him is done. the same likely goes for other genshin boys, because i employed the same strategies when writing for them as well.

now i'm more interested in...

...creating a splatoon oc team. being on a competitive team myself is making me think of viable team comps as well as fully original characters that fit within the lore of the splatoon universe. i already have one and a half characters (the octoling girl is under construction, heh) completed.

...making a jujutsu kaisen fic about the zen'in family centered around an original character related to megumi. because i have very strong opinions about the whole thing and my closest online friend is writing a fic of her own and she fully supports me, so why shouldn't i give it a shot, too?

all in all, i think i'm done being so scared of myself and my ideas simply because it's not what people expecr from me. at this point if you're following me, you get what you get and you don't get upset. i'll just be talking and rambling aaaand you kinda have to deal with it.

i contemplated deleting kazewhara and awlumii, but no. that's wrong to the people who continue to read my work (because i've checked and wow, people.. really do enjoy that stuff.) and wrong to myself. that's going to act as a point of growth for me.

Aspect of Order: Primordial & Present-Day

One of the first deities, part of what is known as the Primordial Triad. It created the planes alongside the Aspects of Chaos and the In-Between and held dominion over the Material Plane. It embodied order in the way nature has order: the life cycle, gravity, the tides, the surety that the seasons will change, the patterns that appear in flora and fauna alike, the symmetry of pinecones and butterflies. It was associated with the night as a time of quiet preparation where the world rests, and when one can see the remains of creation in the darkened sky. It is said that the two moons of the Material Plane are its eyes, watching over its creations.

All three members of the Primordial Triad are referred to with "it", so ancient and unfathomable that applying a mortal, transient concept of gender to them seemed almost blasphemous.

Almost.

The modern-day conception of Order is quite different. Though she still reigns over the night and natural laws, her followers have placed her at the forefront of the creation process, reducing the In-Between's role and rejecting Chaos altogether. Though most present-day cultures think of her in this way, many of them do not emphasize her: she is an invisible Over-God, keeping the other deities and forces in line and maintaining cosmic balance from behind the scenes. In places where she is worshipped heavily, however, she is placed at the forefront of the pantheon. In those cases, worship of deities with overlapping domains is either illegal (ex local gods of justice) or considered secondary to her (ex the god of the Wilds). The worship of smaller, local deities is usually discouraged or suppressed over-all in these areas in order to encourage a more structured, uniform religious practice. While both aspects of Order championed paladins, Primordial Order also championed druids and rangers while Modern Order champions clerics.

Ancient theologians debated whether or not Order and Chaos were two aspects of the same being (ironically, there was no question that the In-Between was its own separate force). However, following the iconoclasm that effectively forced Chaos out of the pantheon and created the modern conception of Order, such lines of thought were considered heretical, and then blasphemous.

The iconoclasm did have an unintended consequence, however. Crying motifs appeared in some art of Primordial Order around that time, particularly in the areas that resisted the iconoclasts more intensely. Some scholars believe that it may have been a direct reaction to the event: Order mourning the loss of its counterpart. Others have argued, however, that the lack of such motifs (or equivalents) in depictions of the In-Between prove this wrong. After all, why would it not also be grieving?

Iliana's the one that gets to travel the most out of the three, but that doesn't stop me from spinning fun stories about their potential adventures in my head!

I had a hard time picking what world(s) I wanted to talk about for this prompt of @khoc-week simply because the possibilities are endless and I have way too many I want to send them to...

So I just narrowed it down to a few and wanted to talk a bit on my ideas plus the lessons it teaches each of my chosen sacrifices- erm. Blorbos, yes blorbos!

Lets go~

Day 2 - New World

Sonic Frontiers

Following the events of Sonic Frontiers, our heroes find themselves stranded in an unfamiliar place, the Starfall Isles, filled with glitches and weird robots! And weird creatures. And talking animals. Just a regular Wednesday afternoon-

They meet Sonic, a highspeed hedgehog, who's looking for and rescuing his friends scattered across the isles, and they team up to figure out how to get out of here by any means necessary - even if it means losing yourself to [Sora voice] bugs.

I picked this one for Iris!

While she may not match the same energy as Sonic, she faces the same dilemma where she takes on a lot more than she can handle at times. She's always going with no break, and oftentimes finds nothing more than hurt in her efforts, more towards herself than anyone else.

Here, she gets to learn that even in times of strife sometimes it's alright to admit that everything is a little too much, but that you also have others you can trust to help you stay standing! And, maybe even a bit on how to loosen up and trust that things may end up okay.

Encanto

Finding themselves in a humble village in Columbia, our heroes stumble into attending a lavish fiesta held at the encanto of the Madrigal Family, where they meet an interesting cast with much more power than expected!

Things go awry when their beloved encanto begins to fall apart, losing its magic in the process...

They team up with Mirabel to investigate some uncovered family secrets, while also snuffing the darkness that is plaguing the family in hopes to repair damage done by one person's grief, as well as return their guiding light back to full flame.

This one is for Irene!

She and Mirabel, to some degree, share a similar position of being unremarkable. They're the last people to be considered for important tasks except in certain situations, yet they both know they're still important regardless! They just have to stand off to the side is all! ... Right? No!

In assisting Mirabel, she is learning better how to accept her lack of magical talent, as well as picking up new techniques on how to creatively handle situations magic can't touch. She's not as quick witted as her young charges, but it does serve her well when combined with her kindness, and in turn helps Mirabel learn some techniques to better connect with her relatives and accept herself for what she can't control.

In contrast, Irene learns more about how it feels to be singled out, to think you're ruining everything despite it all not being your fault, something she never experienced herself but saw in one of her companions. This will help her with some important bonding later.

Brave

By accident, our heroes managed to walk into a very interesting situation at just the right time! ... Disguised as men? It's the Land of Dragons all over again-

They meet Merida, who enlists Iliana's help in rigging a competition for her hand in marriage. The whole plan is to allow Iliana to win, though with some characteristically accurate interference from her, so she can be free to live her life, putting her family under the assumption that she gave up and finally picked a man, even when trying to cheat to win. Despite the fact they still cheated, but anyway-

Iliana, being well versed in passing as a dude by now, agrees to this wacky plan, since it may lead them to whatever it is this world brought them for. The rough part was that they were total nobodies, so this would take a lot of improv to pull off. Skill? Not an issue for now... hopefully-

However, things get a bit... hairy, and needlessly complicated no less-

I picked this one for Iliana because... Hmm-

On one hand I could give a joke answer and say it's because she learned something valuable in the ways of conning people out of an actual win, but...

On the other hand she learned plenty about controlling your destiny on your own terms, helping others achieve who they want to be despite other's expectations (though the bears were a bit much in her opinion), as well as received another nice lesson in body positivity because sporting a beard has never been a bigger nightmare...

Honorable mentions include:

▪︎Persona 5: Insight into learning how rigged the system can be against you, and that even the most unassuming person could be harboring something much darker. This is a given, but they also get to see first hand that when confronting that darkness there can be redemption, even for the blackest of hearts. This will later lead to sheer disappointment.

▪︎Moana: Perhaps breaking the boundaries, no matter how terrifying, may lead you to where you need to go. On a different end, winning everyone's admiration may lead to disaster for yourself and others.

▪︎Undertale: Not everything is a monster you need to slay, except for the version of you that you refuse to face. And perhaps kindness and mercy for the innocent can go a long way.

▪︎Tinkerbell: There's always magic in discovering where you fit, though reaching beyond conforming may be daunting, perhaps that's where you need to be.

My main goal for all of them in the end is for them to learn to accept themselves, as well as enjoy the time they have to be young and free. Y'know, despite the interference of a bald old man and his 13 copies, as well as the ghost of fried chicken past-

I think it's fun seeing what all sorts of places can do to change how you view yourself, especially when residents and friends open your eyes to things you never truly saw!

The fun part? INFINITE amounts of these places to see and learn from! Imagine the possibilities...

Who's your fave Genshin character talking only about design and not personality, and who's your fave in general with both aspects taken into account?

well, i have a list and reasons (i'm very indecisive)

i'd say scaramouche/wanderer and childe are tied for first in general because of their personalities, designs, and most importantly, lore. their character development is great and i really hope we get to see them interact in game one day.

as for just design, i really like a lot of the fontaine and mondstadt characters because of the french and german influences respectively, as well as the steampunk aspects of the former. singling it down is really difficult, but i think that razor and wriothesley answer that.

it's not super fun to work on Butter, the cat dinosaur, because they're always so fucking miserable. They hold onto most of the system's trauma, and i think mayyyyyybe my next comic will be about that but i dunno if that would make *me* too miserable.

I want them to be happy at some point in their life, but that'll take a lot of work.
