He heard Jason's voice in the hallway loud and clear, that infectious laugh. And he could have sworn he saw Raffi fucking Torres getting out of a car in the players' lot. Something tells him not to look up the rosters.

#as i am sure has been very obvious i have been incredibly unwell this year for a variety of reasons #and i read that fic right after my uncle died suddenly and unexpectedly so i was thinking a lot about hospice while i was reading it #and i was going to about 8 million sharkuda games per week to just not be at home bc everything has fallen apart there #(also for a variety of reasons. but there is a lot of intense grief over my stepsister's death involved)#so today having signed a lease on an apartment on the entire other side of the country to be closer to career stuff and #get a fresh start and a hopefully happier and more stable life (even if a huge move and a career change makes me nervous)#while also the first thing said to me is that another family member had passed this morning (expectedly) and a relative #who became very sick recently (unexpectedly) and who due to advanced age does not have a great prognosis #it became a uniquely precious gift to have this completed and sent to me by imp this afternoon.#the fic + the ensuing games of seeing that reel hit a very tender part of me that has dealt with death and instability my entire life #and it is amazing to see an image of logan's similar loss and instability so perfectly realized!!#his troubled face!! the way it feels both underwater and in another world!! the lights all around that could be anything!!#looking up at the indistinct faces of his teammates who could be so so many people at this point but who he misses nonetheless!!#also PLEASE zoom in on the mist - the texturing and color gradients are SO cool. and the reflection on his helmet is so sick #the color scheme in this is freaking amazing and i just love it all so much man!!!#anyway i don't have a concluding thought. i was going to make this into a puzzle (i'm back on my bullshit)#but i will probably get it printed and framed too #if any of u come visit me know. know that your chances of seeing haunted logan couture are non-zero #and he could be ANYWHERE #art #san jose sharks #logan couture

Been a minute since I've been able to draw or even post anything. And that's cuz I've been busy af with a job that's been slowly killing me for the last 8 months. But it's all good; I'm actually leaving that shithole at the end of the week. Yay! Maybe that means I can open up commissions again since I'll actually have time for them? Who's to say...

Anyway! Had a rough weekend at Fan Expo Chicago last week, and I've kinda had this in mind to draw ever since my disappointing interaction with Neil Newbon. He was very nice, but it felt pretty clear that he only really cared about Astarion. And, like, to a degree I get it? Astarion seems like a cool character that means a lot to a lot of people, but to act like no one cares anymore about Resident Evil Village cuz it's an "older game" (his words, not mine), kinda killed my mood for the weekend. Not to mention coming back with COVID. That was also a bummer...

*I* still love Heisenberg, at least. And if I'm the only one, then so be it. ❤️‍🩹

I kinda have the itch to make more floral self portraits again, but it feels more complicated now, with the knowledge that those pieces are the ones that most frequently get stolen. Used as social media content for other ppl’s onlyfans, (poorly) traced for clout, reposted in terf spaces, resold reprinted redrawn repackaged. And that’s without mentioning all the messages I’ve been getting about my body Post-Breast-Reduction-Gofundme. Like, am I still supposed to feel okay about putting my body out there?

#the ones I've already drawn- I've made my peace with them #and to an extent they don't feel like mine anymore #they also were made for a specific purpose and I feel like they accomplished that purpose. to an extent #I was trying to do something very specific for myself by making and posting those #but now I don't know #bc I see how the other ones get treated. and I think abt how people see me #and I'm just not sure #having the self portraits be Seen is the point of making them. but I don't know if having them seen does a net positive #for me or not.#sergle.txt #Part of me making my peace with it is going okay. if other people are going to monetize them then I'll do it too #and so the prints selling- that does serve me bc a bitch needs money. and it's true that people have said nice things about the pieces #but it's the other stuff that sticks in my mind more.

I'm meant to be writing so naturally my brain went into asking the real questions— why don't we have fandom music? We have all forms of expressive art, writing, drawing, editing. The more physical forms of art, sewing outfits, forging swords, acting, even audi narrating fics. So basically all art forms in order to further explore our blobros and yet— no music? Why is it? I am genuinely curious why songwriting and music-making is the one form of art that is not present in the daily fandom life? Yes there's music video edits, even people recreating music from shows on piano etc— but that's not what I mean, I mean honest to god making a real, proper, lyric and music and singing original song for your blobro. Why don't we have that?

i'm so happy i decided to take a leap of faith and start over (again) because i've finally found something i'm both good at and enjoy doing and i just. i love my job so fucking much.

#i woke up this morning feeling so tired and sad #not wanting to leave the apartment at all #but then i thought 'what if something really fun or amazing happens at work today'#and it might not have been the most eventful shift but meeting all the patrons lifted my spirits so much #all the kids that come directly from school to to hang out in the library #the guy who wanted to print a few papers and thanked me for helping him understand how the app works #the mom who wanted me to just. give her a book because she wanted to read something but didn't know what to read #and this teenage girl who did her two week work experience at the same time as i did my internship #who gave me the biggest smile when she realized that i remembered her #and my co-worker who told a colleague from another library that i'm really good at what i do and that she trusts me completely #(that same co-worker also got so incredibly happy when i told her i could work next sunday after all)#i'm so grateful that i ended up doing my internship at that library #and that i somehow ended up working there too #going back to work after years away was honestly terrifying but i feel so safe there #i'm sure i'll end up working somewhere else next year #but i couldn't have gotten a better place to start
