Look, Jaskier's got a lot going on. He's painfully aware that there are cataclysmic events happening and that the troubled teenager he knows might save the world or speed along the end of days. He's also in love with a man who's never even admitted that they're friends, which is almost as bad.

Oh, and he's still working as the Sandpiper, only now a terrifying eldritch creature has entrusted him with the Song of the Seven to give hope to the elves and help them fight back against their oppression. It's probably the bravest thing he's ever done, but not everyone sees it that way.

Luckily he knows some people who excel at last minute rescues.

... then he just has to figure out how to tell Geralt why so many people are trying to kill him. This is going to go great.

hello ava/avm fandom i bring you stick figure designs and headcanons (fed somewhat by other folks headcanons, i'll admit)

the text beneath each stick figure is typed out under the cut, if you have any trouble reading it against the bg (esp for the cg, i'm realizing the outline colors aren't the most legible in text)

Green (14), he/him

- perfectionist

- has perfect pitch and will remind you he has perfect pitch when applicable

- will use his eldest sibling privilege for personal gain

- hates silence

- has a few different pairs of headphones

Blue (14), she/her

- had longer hair before avm season 3, it got burned by the lava and had to be cut short

- netherwart is her samefood

- loves tending her farms, finds it very calming

- sometimes still gets pain from the lava

- very good cook, loves to experiment

Yellow (13), she/her

- loves the staff, thinks its so cool

- has trouble getting to sleep sometimes

- squinted a lot before getting glasses

- sometimes a bit too smart for her own good (see: the command block ep, the lucky block ep)

- wants to combine redstone with outernet elevtronics

Red (12), he/him

- can see ghosts after getting possessed by Herobrine

- got another bandana from yellow team

- physically the strongest of the cg (after second)

- can communicate with animals (both inside minecraft and outside it)

- will try to pet any animal

Purple (14), they/them

- will engage in psychological warefare if you play board games with them

- has accidentally flown into a window before, still hasn't lived it down

- cried when they got their bracelet from the cg

- very polite to adults they don't know

- green and blue made them apologize to their village post avm season 3

- voice is often quiet, when they get loud thats when you know they're mad

- covers their creator mark, it's on their wrist

- terribly nearsighted

- doesn't tell people her full name (for good reason, at least in her eyes)

- tries to maintain a put-together look for her company

- tends to burn clothes on accident when flying, has kinda given up on keeping it from happening much

- will try to eat most anything once

- not much of a talker

- farsighted, but doesn't realize they need glasses

- neutral towards Alan

Dark (16), he/they

- doesn't have the code anymore, still a menace

- focuses more on if he could than if he should when making things

- has contacts that they made themself

- will sleep in the most uncomfy-looking positions

- can tolerate any level of spice no problem

Second (12), they/them

- usually eepy

- nearsighten, doesn't mind having glasses cuz they get to match Alan

- anxious when seperated from their friends

- nitpicks animation errors in movies

- still learning how to use their powers

So, I'll be honest, I don't actually have any WIPs I'm intending to do anything with, but I have some oldish abandoned stuff I managed to relocate. It's back from 2021 so in my Untamed era and this bit was specifically set during Fatal Journey*:

Nie Huaisang woke blearily, cold seeping into his clothes from the floor. It was dark and it took several seconds to remember where he was. He could hear the muffled sounds of clanging and voices. As he lifted his head off the ground, they slowly resolved themselves into the clash of swords and yelling. [...] He didn't know what to do. What would his brother do? Xichen-ge? San-ge? He had his flute with him– he could try Cleansing. This was what it was for, right? Before he could doubt himself further, he started playing, pouring all the qi he could muster into the tune. He'd practised for hours the night before, long after San-ge had left, but despite that, he hadn't truly thought then that he'd need to play so soon. Was that so naïve of him? As he watched, Da-ge began to slow in his movements and Nie Huaisang felt himself start to relax. He kept his lips to the flute, trying not to let his relief fool him into making mistakes. Still, he knew he only had to play a little longer and then they could all escape. Him, his brother, his cousin. They could flee far away from the darkness that haunted these halls. And then Nie Zonghui's head hit the floor. He stopped playing.

And then I had this other bit:

He'd messed up. He must have played a wrong note. Maybe he'd misremembered the entire thing? And now Nie Zonghui was dead and his brother - what looked like his brother - was stood, Baxia dripping blood to the floor. [...] The sword was pointed at him. He tried to hold himself steady as he looked down the blade. Tried to blink away the tears that kept escaping without his permission. He could tell he was failing, unable to stop the trembling, but he forced himself to meet the eyes at the other end of the sword. He couldn't die here. He refused to die here. After all, he was the only family his brother had left.

*(it was meant to be part of a short time travel fic where post-canon characters went back not long before NMJ died. It would've had flashbacks to Fatal Journey interspersed with the "present" up until the point at which future NHS tipped off past NHS about the poisoned music. I actually got as far as figuring out where I wanted all the characters to be at the end of it, but I ran out of motivation pretty quickly so there's only this WIP stuff and the intro part written in the end.)

Shading study that quite literally came to me in a dream two weeks ago, after this post apparently beamed itself into my mind

i've been fueled purely by dayquil and coffee this weekend (i think I'm just about over this cold, but still a little sniffly) and i realized that treasure-hunter-valerie-AU could actually work perfectly with yakuza-goro-AU so i spent pretty much all afternoon getting reacquainted with modding and making goro some new clothes

Getting some unique moments into the wood material, I'm aiming for subtle changes. They're supposed to blend well with the wood grain textures! But on the best of days I want a neon sign pointing to the intentional work I've done and that desire now is exacerbated by how precisely the test render angle I've been using hides the detail areas. Between the dents in the right wing barely visible due to a glancing angle that the glued crack in the left wing would conversely require to be spotted, the obscuring of both chunky end grain edges on the lower piece of the face that needed their ring direction reinforced, and that just-out-of-view hand painted knot near the back right hip...it looks like I'm planning some grand reveal. I am not.
