The first time Yuzuru saw Ibara again, alive and moving, was a three-seconds cameo in a promo program for Sunlit Smile.

It was only a brief moment. Ibara had his feet in the water, pants rolled up to his ankles, gaze towards the ocean, and appeared surprised to be caught on camera. He quickly turned towards it and gave a smiling salute, before the the camera cut back to Hiyori's brilliant smile and boisterous voice.

It was definitely scripted, Yuzuru thought, as his partner Nagisa Ran conveniently cameo-ed just a moment before him.

At that point, he'd already seen Ibara's name and face on posters for Eden. So the image of Ibara, alive, moving, smiling, didn't come as a surprise. He'd always known Ibara would make it, so when he saw Ibara's name in a new rising unit, Adam, he didn't search for Ibara's name on the internet, didn't look up every any promo or MVs or live recording of the duo, and didn't go out of his way to ascertain Ibara's continued existence.

After all, if Ibara was in the idol industry, then the two of them were bound to cross paths again.

But there, seeing Ibara with his hair loose and his feet bared, expression unguarded, standing by the sparkling wave against the vastness of the ocean, Yuzuru couldn't help but rewind, over and over, until the image burned into his retina.

There you are, he thought. There you are.

When he accompanied his bocchama to an beach outing with Hiyori-sama, Yuzuru didn't expect Hiyori to bring his whole unit. He also didn't think the busy COSPRO vice-president would take the time to attend a non-work social.

"The vastness of the ocean can be so inspiring, neh?" Ibara said, turning to Nagisa Ran who stood beside him. "Japan is an island nation after all, and the world is so big beyond our reach. Just think, one day this will all be ours! Assault! Invade! Conquer!"

The taller boy said something too quiet for Yuzuru to hear, smiling softly, which seemed to have caught Ibara off-guard for just a brief a moment, before he agreed with exaggerated enthusiasm.

Ibara must have sensed Yuzuru staring, as he turned to him then. Beside him, Nagisa followed his partner's gaze, blank faced and curious. Their eyes met, and Ibara's eyes narrowed for a split second before giving Yuzuru a smiling salute, bared teeth and sharp.

Against the sparkling waves and the infinite blue sky, Yuzuru recalled seeing Ibara on the screen of his tablet only a bit over a year ago, small and slightly out of focus, and thought, there you are.

He smiled back.

god. theres a lot of things i wanna see happen with eden. uhhhh let me list some things off the top of my head (that isn't gay sex lmao)

any one of them going to therapy. any one of them properly opening up about their traumas to each other. jun getting spoiled. somebody getting justifiably pissed. nagisa beginning to doubt his image of his "father". hiyori calling out his family for shitty behavior to their face. ibara. nagisa and jun interactions in general. ibara being forced to chill. somebody getting injured. hajime cameo. yuzuru cameo. kaoru cameo. pretty 5 cameo. tatsumi or himero cameo.

i want there to be DRAMA!!!!!

I had this idea for a story/ask blog following the midoriya household. Specifically, the household of Kyoka Jirou and Izuku Midoriya, and their 4+ kids(Eri included). Occasional cameos featuring:

Katsuki x Ibara, and their daughter.

Shoto x Tsu, and their son and daughter.

Denki x Momo, and their sons.

The only problem is that my art sucks. It sucks eggs.

So, while you could technically ask these characters questions, don't expect much more than a reply.

I'll make another post about their kids soon.

This has been an interesting exercise... I've discovered I open most of my one-shots the same way. Always a passive observation of a moment. And most of the time the opening sentence is its own paragraph.

Pretty funny compared to Killian, who tagged me. We have the opposite opening cause your openings are all pretty long and active.
