That Time The River Froze Over

During my college years two winters got so cold the surface of the river almost completely froze over (actually I think one of those winters it did completely freeze over). And I could see that there were a lot of cool ice formations, so...I got on my belly and crawled out onto the ice! I tested as I went, and neither fell through nor heard any cracks, but even still I don't recommend doing that. lol There was no one around. I would have been fucked. But I did get some cool pictures out of it. :) Anyway, the second time I didn't go nearly as far out. It was evening and I didn't want to push my luck quite that much.

All my photos, some edited for colour and contrast (not the blue ones toward the bottom--that was a filter on my camera; the less blue one with them was edited, though).

I only bring out my Nintendo Switch when a new game comes out, but ONLY IF that game holds enough Nostalgia that can balance well with my ever growing Adulting Responsibilities.

What was that season 2 about women like Alicent not wanting all the violence and bloodshed?

Where is duty? Where is sacrifice? Where is the Alicent Hightower which held a knife up to Rhaenyra because literally no one cared enough about her and her children to ever bother to protect them, so in a desperate anger she picks up the blade and decides to protect her children no matter who she was going at it with, former best friend or not?

By the way, this is where your ship died. The moment Alicent put her children over Rhaenyras life at her own hands, was when all of her affection for her former friend died.

Her caring about Rhaenyra, died when she watched her demand her mutilated, disabled, bleeding son be "questioned sharply" for name calling. That's when the real Alicent Hightower forfitted Rhaenyras right to exist in her mind as anything but an enemy to her and her children. Not this caricature of Alicent pretending to still be a character and not a prop from that stupid sept scene.

Alicent wanted blood and adding years of abuse and neglect on top of that, would only make her angrier.
