i feel like more people need to accept the fact that lucifer is an Old Man

like. his diet is exclusively whiskey and fig bars. he does that thing when, if you give him a phone to look at something, he takes off his glasses, squints, brings it close to his face, puts the glasses back on, and squints even harder to see. his size on his text messaging app is up to the max and you can read it from across the room. all pairs of his reading glasses (he owns 3-5 pairs at least) are bedazzled thanks to Asmo and some even have those chain things. his hair is less of a fading from black-to-white but more of a salt-and-pepper hair sorta color. he attempts to stay on the trends but also is a few hundred years behind. he is tired all the time but he has six brats to take care of. he talks about the old days back when things were simple and his brothers were young and cute and listened to him and Belphie is like "okay grandpa time to put you back to bed also fuck you". he is an old man and people need to understand this

so here are some thoughts about DMD Friendship the Reality while we are nearing the end

yeah yeah its not that deep but actually no one caring/talking about a show makes me want to write a LONG ASS POST bc i cant get gratification from going through the tags and reading opinions lmaoooooo so HERE damn okkk i will make the content i want to see in the world i guess dont mind me......😞

im not even the biggest Domundi fan but i was intrigued by the premise of this show. i mean it's a basically fake dating show (like one of their challenge rewards was getting to sleep in a suite together as if they are there to date for real) and the end prize isnt just an acting opportunity as it comes w the big decision of choosing a looooooong time acting partner. so i wanted to see how they would do it. BOC did a similar thing w The Hidden Character which i dropped halfway in bc it was too long and i found the challenges to be irrelevant to the ending goal. this show is the opposite of that and thats why ive been enjoying it.

it is edited to be concise (only 5 eps) and honestly, is quite tranquil. all the challenges were about things they will be required to do in the future as DMD actors/idols and stakes aren't even that high. You could always guess who would win before they even started (((like of course broody model guys won the photoshoot challenge and guy w two series under his belt won the acting one, DUH))) but it was still enjoyable to watch. show's goal isn't to generate tension and competitiveness. it is more of a workshop/chemistry building camp and also a way to introduce the new generation and get the fans warm up/attached to them.

as i spent time in bl fandom sphere, i've come to realize introducing a new gen is tricky. i thought everyone would be ecstatic to see new blood and a lil bit of mix and match but BL fans are reaaaaaaaaaaally attached to their faves and generally see newcomers as threats who will take opportunities from their already neglected (!) precious babies (e.g. just couple weeks ago FortPeat fans were protesting the new lesbian side couple in the upcoming show for stealing screen time from their faves, which is a joke in itself). this kind of show is genius way to get people to warm up to idea of new faces. at the end of the the day, these fans' weakness is two beautiful boys indulging in sweet moments they can be delulu over and considering how ships were already born from the first episode, DMD FTR succeeded in their goal.

LETS TALK ABOUT THE BOYS :-) *this starts playing*

I had to make this during first ep bc they are all dark haired boys w similar builds so I kept confusing them lmaoooooo (Tle not pictured as he joined later)

i will firstly talk about the fan favorite possible "couples";

KengNamping, the quiet visual couple and yes I love em!!!! they were kinda the only "conflict" in this very conflict free competition.

is Keng the CALMEST person I've ever seen? Latte is laid back too but Keng is just seems zen. sometimes (in the face of conflict) he just seemed hard to read but mostly he has such a calming presence. honestly, he should open an ASMR channel if this acting gig doesn't work out.

Namping also comes off very warm and graceful. him being "wow I'm finally in the winner suite" to Keng after finally getting chosen in ep4 made me laugh like DAMN he really was offended by what happened in ep1 and kept letting it slip. Idc, you are so right my prince and don't ever let Keng forget what he did to you...

when it comes to the possibility of them as a couple: i am kinda here for it while also not knowing if i actually believe in their "moments" in the show? Namping definitely set his sights on him from the beginning but Keng seemed nonchalant about it. Keng finally choosing Namping after his win, their sweet moment on the bed etc. seemed to me like classic reality show moment prompted by production to fit a certain narrative WHILE ThomasKong's pseudo-date-night chats seemed very real and spontaneous.

they do visually have chemistry, i'm not gonna act like i wasn't blushing when Keng trying to flirt during dinner or Namping softly touching a sleepy Keng's chin in the bed etc. Or even in ep2, when Namping tries to confront Keng about his pick but they are too timid and just unable to talk about it openly!!! arrghhh it's a hard to watch moment but still, made them more intriguing because they had such a tension between them. it would be a shame if it wasn't explored more. that tension can be channeled into an angsty series, just saying...

So, they def have a long way to go in their bond and arent comfortable like LatteFirst or ThomasKong but still, they are a strong contender and I would be glad to see them as a couple in a show. Namping already got my attention in the acting challenge and wonders can be achieved w a lil bit of workshop. they got the juice already!!!

Now, lets talk about ThomasKong.............

so I knew LatteFirst are set be a side couple in upcoming Love Upon a Time but i was confused to see why everyone on Twitter was already going cuckoo over these two random boys until i saw them interacting... Wow, like Thomas really came here w one mission: get Kong and leave.

because Thomas is such a flirt like DAMNNN😳😳😳😳he needs to be jailed for carrying lethal amounts of charm... IT MUST BE SAID: I love his fits w those thin glasses, he should've been wearing those in those office BLs he was in because he has been serving "office siren". Tiktok girlies eat your heart out.

while Kong isn't the best at acting or singing (he is the best KengNamping shipper tho and i LOVE a fudanshi BL actor), he definitely would win Mr. Congeniality if they were giving that title. he naturally and effortlessly has great on screen charisma. he is a certified cutie and the only one who can get real full belly laughs from Thomas!!!

i think what they managed in the acting challenge is the testament to their palpable chemistry. acting wise they weren't perfect (naturally, their uneven acting experience levels were apparent) but they were the only one who managed to tonal shift in their scenes. it's because they were the only ones who played into the romantic subtext of the scene. they also held eye contact for the longest (because they are comfortable w each other and not shy!!!), which elevated their chemistry and made me AND the judges giggle and roll our hair and kick our feet and shit!!!!!!!!!!!!

they are obviously the most likely to win the show and they deserve it too. no matter the result of the show, i want see them carrying a series as mains because they can and should. i also believe DMD won't fumble their bag, so i am not worried about it.

then we come to LatteFirst, the kinda established couple: in the ep5 preview, we see First trying to choose between Latte and the newcomer Tle, which seemed random to me and could be a production touch to create conflict in this very smooth sailing show.

i loved seeing Latte being nonchalant about the possibility of First choosing someone else, what a laid back guy. like Mio in THC, every BL reality show needs a half asleep and occasionally funny dude.

now i am thinking; what if First chose Tle, would he also replace Latte in LUAT bc DMD doesn't really fuck w mixing matching their couples. i honestly don't know where did all that come from but i feel like the result wont be too shocking, First and Latte are already really close and comfortable and got The Chemistry. need i remind of Latte punching the air a la Judd Nelson at the end of The Breakfast Club when it was announced they both chose each other for the dinner date? and their sweet and comfortable banter on that said date??? let's put our pens to work and write a friends to lovers rom-com for the boys based on that material please...

i dont think they are likely to win but might be strong contender. i just want to see them as a side couple in LUAT (hopefully this year!!!!) so they can develop themselves and their bond a little bit more before getting to a main couple level. their sweet friendship shouldn't go to waste!!! (is it obvious i am more drawn to BL couples who are besties in real life?)

damn this post is about to be a novella so i will make it short about Gems, TeeTee and Tle, i hope Gems won't be too upset about getting slighted again 😥 like i said, stakes aren't high on this show and results are always obvious: these guys are going back home empty handed, we all know it. they are all charismatic and VERYYY talented but i just felt like none of them really focused on "getting a partner" part of the show, not just the main challenges. even TeeTee who was picked by Thomas and Keng seemed kinda uninterested about partnering up. but you cant really force chemistry and i am sure they will get many more opportunities in the future. they already started their fanbase!!! i cant stand to see Gems so upset, i hope he wont be too sad.

these are my opinions. maybe the ending will do a whole 180 and idk, GemsKeng or TleKong or some other random couple will win, who knows???? cant wait to watch the new overly airbrush filtered, Cheewin directed DMD show up to like 5 episodes and then get bored and drop it and follow the rest from gifs!!! good luck to the boys <3

All that Jily shippers (and Bartylus shippers and other smaller shippers) ask is for je**lus shippers to stay out of their tags and tag their posts properly without spamming - which would be the right think to do and the correct and only way to use Tumblr in the first place, that's what tags are for. Everyone has a right to not want to see spam ships in their tag, that place is for their comfort, not for triggering content! And yet when you ask for such a given, normal thing as correct tagging, you're "inhumane" and several bloggers who spoke up about tags have been severely harassed to the point of having to turn off their asks. We need to get a grip. It's perfectly fine that others don't like your ship, it's not personal or doesn't make it an offense or mistreatment. It's also perfectly fine if people use anti tags to vent their hate towards a ship, that's what the tags are there for and that's why fans block anti tags and don't go there. What's not fine is spamming hundreds of unrelated tags on posts and harassing others and forcing your ships into other shippers tags and forcing them to see that all the time, when a lot of it is also triggering content for them. If people literally simply learned how to use tags and stayed in their corners there would be no conflict.

Hi love!, I'm right there with you. Being a Jily shipper myself, I've felt the frustration when one ship dominates the scene, making it difficult for others to have their space. I intentionally steered clear of specifics because this isn't about pointing fingers; both sides have their valid concerns.

Our choice of words is crucial. Things like “Je**lus” can come across as immature and hurtful, completely altering the tone of the conversation. While it's perfectly fine to express opposing views and critique other ships or individuals, it's essential to do so respectfully.

The conflict extends beyond just the use of tags (the tag thing is just a fact: don’t use ones that doesn’t related to your posts) ; it's about the lack of mutual respect in how people communicate, especially over something as seemingly trivial as shipping preferences. There's a myriad of issues within both sides of the fandom that warrant attention.

Btw I think anti tags are 100% ok, it’s again about the way you express it. You can say James is in love with Remus, that Sirius is a swiftie or that hitler is god ,honestly idc about any opinion as long people aren’t rude for no reason. I've just came across people saying downright awful things about shippers or fans who simply like particular characters/ship (ones that aren't controversial at all), and honestly, it's just completely unnecessary like “don’t follow/talk to me if you like x” like wth???

I do not have the energy or care to spend any more thoughts about the CK situation but there's something that has been bothering me. I wish to start off that I do not support Tom, I haven't supported him for quite awhile before this happened because of other actions he did. However, even though I do not like Tom, I do not approve of people sending him death threats and causing him to leave. Do I think some of the things he said were shitty? Absolutely! Especially the stuff about racism and his hispanic/latinx ocs that are walking stereotypes! Do I think people should have gone to the extent they did to harass him? Fuck no. As a POC, it's really bothered me that people have glossed over the things like how uncomfortable his only two hispanic/latinx character's were very fetishy and becoming insulting stereotypes but at the end of the day what can I do? Oh right, move on from it because there are other important daily life things to worry about than random people on the internet that have no direct contact to me and don't interfere with my real world life. Does it suck? Yes. Should I spend every waking breath breathing into my mic raging? Completely stunned by what I just saw in 2022. How old are these people to be criticizing AO3??? That site is a goldmine of some of the best fics in existence and yet??? I really saw someone claim that using it means your selling your morals and risking safety of children for kudos "not even money" and the OP who got the ask felt so bad they deleted their account??? I mean. Good luck finding anywhere to post that people will actually bother to go to, to read.

Current fandom makes me sick. It's a bunch of uneducated kids and adults who don't know their own history trying to demand that sane people change their habits because they can't be bothered to use AO3 properly and filter out the content they don't want to see.

AO3 was made so that fanfic authors have a safe space to post their content without the fear of being sued and they ask for money in order to maintain the website and so we're not bombarded by a bunch of adds when we just want to read our favourite characters.

The proshipper movement and the purity culture that surrounds it is a plague on current fandom and you're going to find more and more content creators leaving because of asshole anons like the one this poor author received. I also find it amusing that anon attacked them for using AO3 when other websites don't have the same level of tagging to avoid triggering content that AO3 does.

I'm just glad that some people managed to talk to the author and make them realise they aren't in the wrong.

As long as people tag their dark lwj fics properly I don't see the problem? Quality of the fics & nuanced characterization aside, I see nothing wrong with fans wanting to fixate on and explore that part of his character. They want to see him struggle with what he wants and desires, how far he's willing to see them manifested and whether that would lead him to become his father.

And by that logic, even lbh isn't dark. Post-canon he's a whole bingpup crying for his shizun's attention. He's slightly manipulative, but only bc sqq is thin faced and wouldn't admit to what he wants. Mo ran under the cursed flower isn't either. You can argue that he would never do that to cwn, never become a tyrant if the cursed flower didn't highlight the bad aspect of his character.

If people aren't allowed to extrapolate and have fun in fandom, then what's left? A lot of fans even get defensive over the take that lwj is horny or lwj is a sadist or lwj is a brat tamer or lwj is forceful and violent. I'm just curious what these folks think of lwj then? A tedious, stickler for the rule white lotus who does nothing wrong? A person that chooses wwx over everything else including his own family (I'm looking at the lqr and lxc haters)? A person whose desires cannot be separated from wwx's bc in bed, he's only serving wwx and does as wwx tells him to (if you read through all the smut scenes you can clearly see that's not the case). You see ppl are so terrified of "blackening" lwj character now they are even going around denying lwj has these vivid noncon fantasies.

The point is in canon, aside from the Phoenix Mountain kiss, LWJ doesn't really show evidence of wanting his desires manifested if it's at the expense of WWX's actual consent. That's all. Now if people take it to the other extreme and don't want to see LWJ as horny or forceful, if they don't want to acknowledge that LWJ and WWX both share a rape kink that they happily, excitedly explore with each other that's on them. Their understanding is also not canon. And I've already written that LWJ doesn't blindly follow WWX's instructions like some sort of automaton, as is the case when WWX repeatedly suggests he silence him . It's just that I don't think it's wise to pass moral judgement on a character's sexual fantasies & kinks when for all intents and purposes they're morally ideal in action. Vivid noncon fantasies =/= actions =/= dark!

And if that people who multiship make posts about their takes, which include saying that BH is toxic or that now, Betty is kind of the worst, then Yeah, of course some blogs will have opinions on that and will want to defend their ship or a character they like (cause lot of people think that BH is not toxic and that Betty isn’t selfish or she is the worst this season -does it suck she is a FBI agent?, it does, but the show is not stupid in showing her at her lowest doing that, and she is also helping her fam so?-), like I feel at this point they are trying to make a competition between B or Jughead? I just needed to vent, cause i saw a post basically saying that people were saying that no one could lean Jughead, and almost like making it a competition and it felt very weird because I don’t think any Bughead who is just trying to defend or ship their ship or defend a little to Betty is saying that, but that it’s funny seeing people who were defending them until 3 weeks ago, no being so against the ship or a character (who didn’t even interact with Jughead? The sad thing is, I don't even know if we will. I've seen the way these writers write women, they treat their plots like a joke. So I'm skeptical about how satisfying the payoff will be. But the way they're obviously writing her as such a bad fbi agent/trainee and royally screwing up in just about everything, I guess it's gonna lead to SOMETHING. I think she needs someone to tell her that she's not okay, needs to stop ignoring the help she needs and should reconsider her career choice.

Besides Jughead, no one has ever really been there for her and even then, most of the time she's been dealing with her shit alone cause the writers kept Jughead occupied with something else. But that's a whole other thing so let's fugget-aboutit.

To me rn, Betty's the loneliest out of all of them, even when living with her mom. All she's got are her own thoughts - which aren't really friendly - and we know how dangerous they can be. Yes, she had Archie for that small time, but was he really anything more than just an act to show herself that she has something in her "control"???

A lot of "Bughead fans" think this is where they draw the line and need to jump ship, well okay then. It's just weird to me that NOW that they have a better option to pair Jughead with they're coming up with shit like "Bughead is toxic" and what not to make it seem like it's okay for them to ship Jabitha. Let's be clear here, Idc that they ship Jabitha, they're allowed to do so. It's the weird ass analysis' of bughead that are bothering me. I don't need u to tag-invade and declare why you think BH shouldn't ever be together, you can still believe what u believe WITHOUT me having to read it.

The purist Jughead stans believe that him having another "option" means that he's better than Betty because HE can have more meaningful relationships than her and he hasn't gone off the deep end as Betty has. Meanwhile the Betty purists think he's too drunk and unkempt for Betty. Like THAT is what turns off Betty LOL. I feel like neither of the sides have ever truly tried to understand them if they think this way about them. Like, these are the same weirdos who got off of a murder fanfic about their PRINCIPAL ffs - they're not your average ship.

You can stop shipping Bughead, or take a break from it, I will bid u farewell with an air hug, but do it kindly if you want your BH mutuals to notice it or just tag properly. I don't mind engaging in honest criticism about my ship, ik they've got their problems, but we can do so without getting hateful.

I'm sorry this got long but clearly I needed to vent as well lol.

okay was anyone gonna tell me that the s6 blooper reel features the bit in 6x01 where lisa asks dean to come to bed but this time when he says he'll be there soon lisa pulls out a riding crop causing dean to gleefully leap out of his seat and follow her out of the room or was i just supposed to find that out from an anonymous commenter online

Would you mind giving some examples of sera gamble's antiblackness? It doesn't surprise me at all bc *gestures at the show* but it all runs together in my memory and I can't place any eras besides kripke s1-4

yeah sure! the show in general is racist ofc, but i think her writing consistently depicts black men as menacing and villainous.

gordon walker's introductory episode is perhaps the first ep in the series that attempts to address the issues with hunting and how it's populated by predominantly white vigilantes with guns but it also uses a black man as dean's evil foil! again, predominantly white vigilantes but it just has to be a black man we see menace & hurt innocent white vampire amber benson while the winchesters look on in horror.

if bloodlust is bad, fresh blood in s3 makes things so much worse because at least with the aforementioned you can rationalise it as sterling k brown being the best actor who auditioned but fresh blood is. it's. well you get sam & dean decapitate harmony kendall in the first 5 minutes alone but then vamp!gordon decapitating a bunch of white blonde lady vamps is proof of how scary & evil he is. very obvious white woman who crosses the street to avoid black men vibes from that ep. oh, and vamp!gordon avoids drinking blood until he suddenly decides to pin dean against the wall and feed off of dean's neck (suggestively!) before sam & gordon fight and then sam fucking decapitates him with razor wire. i swear before i saw HOtG this was hands down my least fave ep.

if we're talking gamble era in general i'm thinking of raphael as the big bad of s6 but i also watched s6 more than a month ago and have forgotten so much i can't fully get into it. OH YEAH just remembered how the alpha vampire is played by *drum roll* a black actor! what's more is he's the ONLY alpha depicted as a child predator - he's not a sexual abuser, sure, but he canonically abducts children to feed off of as a ~delicacy.

the other examples i'm thinking of that aren't as bad but cannot take in good faith are:

sam & dean torturing a demon in a black vessel in 3x15/time is on my side

ruby temporarily possessing a black maid in 4x09/IKWYDLS and it being played for laughs

lisa's black boyfriend getting his neck snapped by demons in 6x21/let it bleed after 10 seconds of screentime

tl;dr idc how much people hate gamble for the magicians BYG, in the context of spn her anti-blackness is way way worse than her homophobia.

i think people tend to forget that dean is a gen Xer (a baby gen Xer, but a gen Xer nonetheless) whose home state had sodomy laws until uh, *checks* 2003 so there's this tendency to read any reluctance dean may have surrounding being out as him being cartoonishly repressed (or even cowardly!) instead of it being like, a normal reaction to have in response to the hideous homophobia of the 80s & 90s. it doesn't matter how safe a situation he's in now, you don't shake that kind of thing off easily. and while the above obviously lends itself well to repressed!dean readings, i think it's important to emphasise that it can absolutely coexist with if not perfectly complement aware-but-closeted!dean. you can know exactly who you are but still find it incredibly difficult to express due to the poisonous environment you grew up in.
