I think it's "recurring" but got autocorrected into "recruiting"
[this is in reference to this ask]
Okay. Well, if that's the case, I'm still not 100% sure how to answer to question. I can only assume that they meant to ask if Bookworm has the potential to become a recurring villain for Wanda, or for Scarlet Witch, but they didn't specify.
At this point, the series has been running long enough that I wouldn't mind circling back to some previously introduced characters, but Bookworm is not at the top of my list. That said, Scarlet Witch #7 was a standout issue for me-- despite the gimmicky premise, it was thematically rich and had a lot to say about Wanda's outlook on power, subjugation, and justice. The issue ended with Wanda consigning Gruber to a rather grim, if deserved, fate in the Ideaverse, so I can definitely see him coming back for revenge.
Gruber's last words to Wanda echo Hexfinder's sentiments about witches. This is probably just foreshadowing, but I think it's a notion that might be worth exploring on a larger scale. Why do people hate witches, or magic in general? Is this sense of betrayal and disillusionment common? Obviously, Gruber is in the wrong here, but things are a little more nuanced with Hexfinder's backstory, and I think it's fair to say that Witchcraft herself is not totally or unconditionally benevolent. As readers, we're meant to believe in Wanda and understand her point of view, but a lot characters have raised reasonable doubts about her growing relationship with power, chaos, and possibility. You could build a compelling story arc around this idea, but I don't think Gruber would make sense as the main villain.
There's also a lot going on with magic books in this series, and Wanda has had several other encounters with the Dreamscape and Mindscape, so I can definitely think of a few ways to loop Bookworm back in. But most of the big story arcs and the characters who really stick around in Scarlet Witch either have a personal connection to Wanda, or have something relevant to say about the greater mythos that she's a part of. Bookworm has neither.
#ironically in SW 7 he is abusing a form of reality-warping power in a way that you would expect to bring up some of Wanda's history#But the truth is she's never actually done anything like that willingly or intentionally in canon. Fans and the M C U assume that this is#what her power represents but that's rarely the case.#bookworm#nelson gruber

ACE Calendar: Horizons
Use time horizons across periodic notes under Calendar in your Obsidian PKM system.
With the new year, I have started thinking about the periodic practices and workflows in my PKM system. Periodic Notes I use the ACE organizational framework for Atlas, Calendar, and Efforts in my Obsidian Ideaverse vault. I place all time-based information within the Calendar folder, which includes all my periodic notes (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly). I also have…

Not a bad FR idea, but I was wondering if you'd be fine with people making similar blogs ("bad____ideas") for other games, specifically another petsim :O
Dude go for it. I know @bad-genshin-impact-ideas is inspired by this blog, and “bad X ideas” is a decently common gimmick so like… you ain’t stealing something from me lol. Go forth and break your game fandom of choice and tag me so I can watch the chaos unfold.

PLEASE DON’T NSFW MY DRAGONS IT WOULD ME UNCOMFORTABLE ILY GUYS THANKS /PLATONIC
Alright alright alright. So with the __frideas apocalypse occurring, a few people have said they might want to make fanart eventually, and while no one has asked this, I feel it’s important to state now. Sorry if this comes off as impolite to assume there even will be fanart, but hey. I feel like it’s better to say now then to have my boundaries broken and then have to deal with the fallout.
Do not draw NSFW art of Greg.
It’s absolutely fine to draw whatever you want of fucl and such, (with consent obviously), but please note:
I have the NSFW tag blocked and avoid most of that stuff. I am far from naive or anything, but I am still not comfortable with that.
I’m okay with gore on pretty much any level, (I’m very desensitized), and pretty much anything else is fair game. If you are curious about drawing something, feel free to DM me/ask off anon so I can answer you privately.
Have a good day/night, everyone!

Adventures in Babysitting
aka Watching My Cousin’s Kids Leads to Ideas
So I’ve been watching my cousin’s kids (9 and 11 respectively) for the weekend while they go have fun, married people time to themselves. Kids decided they wanted to watch Pokemon, so I let them while I worked on typing something, so I’m already in the creative zone when they get to the last arc of Pokemon XYZ. So me, an old fan of the series who only stopped watching in BW Era, is sitting here listening and thinking, I could make this so much more epic. I must have said this out loud because then I get challenged by pint sized (the 9 year old) and Miss Stubborn (11year old). Well, challenge accepted.
I spent the next 15 minutes explaining how Ash, a literal Chosen One as of the 2000 movie and an aura user as on Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, could have, with Olympia’s psychic help, sent out a planet-wide call for help. Thus we get nearly every Legendary coming via Mewtwo/Mew teleport spam, assistance of the Creation Trio creating , and/or Hoopa Rings, plus more powerful trainers like the Elite 4s, the Dragon Clan, Ash’s more powerful friends, and Gym Leaders. Zygarde does end up forming ,but it’s more than impressed with what Ash can call upon for aid. Kids said they thought the idea was much more epic. This led to them digging out my old DVDs of the movies so they could remember just which Legendaries Ash had good relations with. Had a lot of fun with that before their parents picked them up.
Said idea is not freaking leaving me alone, though. I’m already doing a KHR rewrite, plus my original stuff. I do not have time for this. Idea, get out of my HEAD!
#ideas while babysitting#this is my attempt at getting rid of it#pokemon#maybe shorts in my ideaverse or something#if the idea doesn't go away#need to work on STAA

Have you read the latest SW yet? Not going to be able to read it for a few days, what happens?
A lot of plot teasing, but not a lot of plot development. This issue has a lot crammed into it, and the Oz storyline didn't get the time it needed to shine.
Spoilers under the cut.
The Magneto character is Joseph, the Magneto clone from the 90s. Last time we saw him, he was a full-tilt villain, but he claims that he was "unwell" and "manipulated" at the time, and that all he wants is a fresh start. Wanda, obviously, sympathizes.
Joseph alleges that he was brought back to life by Sinister sometime before Krakoa, but he escaped the lab where he was being kept and has been wandering ever since. He comes across as sweet and earnest, and offers to help Darcy investigate the low-mysterium. I'm a little suspicious that he's not telling the whole truth.
This conversation is interrupted by Nelson Gruber, AKA Bookworm, arriving through the Last Door. Gruber is able to manifest people, places, and things from books into the real world-- this power is derived from the Mindscape, which is a psychic plane within the astral realm. We learn in this issue that Gruber's manifestations aren't just constructs-- they're living beings from a region of the Mindscape called the Ideaverse.
Gruber has transformed a portion of Oklahoma into the kingdom of Oz, and set himself up as its ruler. He was overthrown by the Wicked Witch of the West, who cut off Gruber's hand and bound it to a copy of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. With this, she is able to keep Oz anchored in the real world and command absolute power within its borders. She has used this power to subjugate the people of Oz and bring them under her total magical control.
Wanda recognizes that the Witch wants justice for the way Gruber treats denizens of the Ideaverse, but she also recognizes that the Witch is a despot in her own right. She uses a hex to switch clothing with the Witch, obtaining both the book and the Silver Shoes in the process. Wanda clicks her heels three times and sends all of Oz back to the Ideaverse, and banishes Gruber there, as well. Oz-- and Oklahoma-- are free, but the Witch is still able to take Gruber prisoner and mete out her justice.
There are also two epilogue scenes-- a G.O.D.S. tie-in page, and an introduciton to Hexfinder, AKA Nicola Zosimos.
The G.O.D.S. tie-in is a short scene. Dimitri arrives for a meeting the Countexes of Sevalith in Otherworld. He shows off a new invention and mentions that he is a proxy of the "Powers-That-Be," but no further information is given.
Nicola arrives in Baglia and delivers an artifact called the Wordsword to the sorcerer Diablo, as compensation for his assistance in "temporal transmutation." I suppose we can expect time-travel or time magic to be part of Nicola's plan in future issues.
Nicola also claims that her family was betrayed by witches centuries ago, which is why she's out to get Wanda.
